So glad I found this place. Finally somewhere in SF to get authentic Thai cuisine with homemade spices and curry. Their dishes were not overly oily or sweet, but fragrant. Really enjoyed the pad kee Mao and the spicy eggplant. Mango sticky rice dessert was also a highlight. Already planning for my return visit.

OMG The food was so delicious and the owner so nice I love him so much 😍and I’ll go back to have another meal for sure. Very recommended for everyone.

Diner Review №4

So yummyyyy!!! Very authentic

Diner Review №5

The food was absolutely delicious! They truly showcase the authentic Thai taste. Even though I had to wait a bit longer for my order, it was completely worth it for such high-quality and well-prepared dishes.
Highly recommend for anyone craving real Thai flavors!”😻👍🏼

Foods were good, except the chicken wings was over cooked. Prepared yourself for a least 2 hours meal. They take time to cook like a fine dinning. If you are in hurry for a quick bites. Try something else

Diner Review №9

Don't recommend the chicken wings since they smelled very strongly of fish. The pad see ew was bland. The waitress was strangely hovering and then after getting the check asked us several times at the end of the meal if we liked our food.. awkward experience overall

Diner Review №10

Genuinely some of the tastiest, most authentic Thai food I've ever tried! Hands down the most exciting Thai menu SF has to offer for the pricepoint. Such friendly, accommodating staff and their food never disappoints.

Diner Review №11

If you want to try authentic Thai dishes, look no further. I ordered the Chiang Rai and another stir fry dish with chicken. Perfect level of spice, flavor… highly recommended!

Diner Review №12

Food was great, staff was very nice and accommodating. Would come again.

Curry Puffs, noodles, soup were delicious.

Diner Review №14

The flavors here were really good - the broth that came with the drunken noodles was rich and deep, reminded me of what someone's mom would make. Pretty rare for a restaurant. It wasn't too salty or too strong, but very balanced.

Diner Review №15

Very tasty meal at Mama Mu’s! The dishes were delicious, especially the Pad Thai. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food came out very quick. I’d certainly come back.

Diner Review №16

I am very sorry to write about our bad experience in this restaurant. We came Wednesday night about 8pm. As soon as we sit we realized the table was not very clean and sticky, and the music too loud.
Then we had to deal with a lady (she seems to be the manager or owner) yelling as she speak at her phone in a corner. She was disrespectfully loud, no care about the rest of the costumers. With the music, the lady yelling and the lack of any sound treatment to the naked walls we couldn’t listen to each other at the table.
We ordered Thai Papaya Salad; Pat See-Ew, Kai Pad Rod Fai (Fried rice), Guay Tiew Kua, and Thai tea.
Salad was ok but some pieces so large that it was hard to eat it.
Pad See-Ew was with tofu. No taste at all, first time I had a bad experience with this dish after many years. It’s a classic that I always enjoy in any Thai but this was made with no love at all. It also came with a whole fried egg on top instead of scrambled and mixed.
My wife didn’t even finish her Fried Rice as it was also plain bad and distasteful. No flavors as it was cooked with no love for Thai cuisine. My son’s dish came with a red sauce that he said saved the dish.
Another incredible thing was that I never had bad experience with Thai tea, it is always delicious, sweet and with a nice mix of it flavors. This one was plain and bad, almost water with color.
The young waiter was very nice but it is hard to believe this place has a 4.8 rate. It seemed to me like this place has no respect for Thai food nor quality service but I definitely need to write this so people avoid this place and go to many other Thai places in the city that treat you so good.

Got to-go. Was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor and spiciness. Will definitely come back

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mama Mu's Bistro, and it was an experience worth raving about. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff, who immediately made me feel at home.

The menu at Mama Mu's Bistro is a delightful surprise with its diverse offerings. I opted for their signature dish, the "Chiang Mai" beef khao soi, and it was a revelation. The server not only served the dish but took the time to explain how to enjoy it fully, which added a personal touch to my meal.

The "Chiang Mai" beef khao soi itself was a masterpiece. The rich orange broth was bursting with flavor, and the tender beef paired perfectly with the noodles. A word of advice: heed the warning about wearing a bib or dark clothing because the broth is so deliciously splash-worthy!

To complement my meal, I enjoyed a complimentary matcha which was a refreshing palate cleanser, and a lime iced tea that was perfectly balanced in sweetness.

What truly impressed me was the ambiance of Mama Mu's Bistro. Despite arriving before the lunch rush, I had the restaurant almost to myself for an hour, allowing me to savor my meal in a tranquil environment.

Overall, Mama Mu's Bistro exceeded my expectations in every way. From the warm hospitality to the expertly crafted dishes, it's a place I can't wait to visit again soon. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience with a touch of culinary flair, Mama Mu's Bistro should be at the top of your list.

Best Thai food I’ve had in SF! The pad kee mao was so good I wanted to order a second round for dessert. The khao soi was phenomenal, and the taste transported me back to Chang Mai.

Diner Review №20

Absolutely delicious and kind, attentive service!

Diner Review №21

Transported instantly to Thailand. Most authentic Thai food I have found in San Francisco. Their fish sauce is next level

Diner Review №22

Diner Review №23

Their Thai papaya salad was really delicious 🔥

Diner Review №24

Diner Review №25

First off, the menu is mainly pork items and they are out of pork. She comes to us and says “hi, we made the Lao papaya salad, even though we asked for the Thai salad and she said this is the last order” then we say no and she goes back in and 1 minute later comes back out to tell us they could make it. Then 2 minutes go by and she says I’m sorry we don’t have Thai salad. We ordered the Isaan larb salad and we asked for mild. It was freaking spicy 🥵. She also pushed us to get the check multiple times. Saying they are closing but she didn’t even give us our last course, like come on, at least give us our meal first before pushing us to get the check. Never coming back again.

Diner Review №26

This place is amazing! So much flavor and so good! Support this place!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Diner Review №27

I would love to recommend this place for lunch special. Curry of the day change everyday keep asking them for an update. Today I got panang curry with chicken. It was delicious and tasty. They said they have green curry as well but not today. I will come back to try again. Love the service and the owner so nice and friendly. Definitely come back to try their dinner too. 5 stars for them.

Diner Review №28

This is one of the few restaurants that I think really deserves to have 5 stars! I was first impressed by their excellent services. Then it came the tasty food and drinks. The soft music together with their cleanliness and cozy atmosphere made us fell in love with this place. We will definitely recommend them to our friends and families. See you all there!!!

Delicious food, wonderful service! I never leave reviews but this place is seriously worth the trip

Diner Review №32

Delicious, bold and spicy dishes served with a smile and warmth. We felt at home.

Diner Review №33

Best Thai food I’ve had in the Sunset! We tried the Khao soi, Drunken noodles, papaya salad and mango sticky rice. The chicken in the khao soi and noodles were super tender. We are excited to come back and try the other dishes!

Diner Review №35

Amazing Thai foods that probably is authentic than most of Thai restaurants in SF . I get disappointed when sweetness overpowers the flavors of spices and ingredients which tend to be in many Thai restaurants to cater American tastes . This place is definitely not . The flavors of the different dishes we try were mind blowing. We can’t wait to go back to try different dishes on the menu !

Diner Review №36

Great tasting food like when I was in Thailand for a 2 week vacation. Prices are expected for SF pricing. Starters could be slightly bigger portions especially on the fish cake. Overall great service.

Temperature was a bit on the warm side but maybe a open window in the back or front of the restaurant could resolve this.

Diner Review №37

The place is very new but from the delicous burn 🔥 of the Laarb Salad with Beef / Tripe to the Drunken Noodles 🍜, both my Korean wife, our daughter and my French self loved the food.

Diner Review №38

Really good Thai food. Their spicy chicken basil is one of the most authentic and delicious variations of the dish in the San Francisco Bay Area. Like how they add a spicy fish sauce on the side to take the flavor to 11. Appreciate how they have a relatively small menu that allows them to focus on quality. Although would like to see a couple more chicken noodle dishes, or something like a chicken pad Thai. They have generous portion sizes and the ingredients are fresh and quality.

Diner Review №40

Great neighborhood restaurant with unique dishes. But the food we tried were either too salty or sweet.

Diner Review №41

Came back from BKK and was craving some Khao Soi. This place did not disappoint. Food definitely reminds me of being back in Thailand. Will definitely come back to try more dishes.

Diner Review №43

Great Thai food in sunset area. Highly recommend and definitely come back.

Diner Review №44

Best Thai food in San Francisco—by a mile. Very authentic and fresh, like eating in Thailand.

Diner Review №45

It was a great lunch ! We had food here before the launch day ! And it was fabulous! Would be visiting with all my friends soon ! A great addition to our Bay area eatery

Diner Review №46

Food was excellent, and the service was incredible. They were very accommodating to my dietary restrictions and provided helpful recommendations on what I could order. When I mentioned I had an appointment next door and would be back to pick up my food in an hour, they said they'd time my order so it would be fresh when I was ready, and even walked it over to me! Such a kind gesture.

Diner Review №48

I would not recommend this place. Food was overall salty, extra greasy, and flavors not good. Service was extremely slow and server keeps forgetting what we asked for. Never put in order for an extra sticky rice (the 1st one we got was dry and hard) and forgot to bring our papaya salad but proceeded to include in bill. Food came out in random orders (entre vs appetizers). Friends and I will not be returning. Not sure how they had such high ratings here and on yelp.

Diner Review №49

I loved the food. I got their Bangkok bowl (pad kra pao) during their soft opening and knew I had to go back. The portions were generous, the food was as authentic as it gets. Atmosphere is perfect for a tasty meal

Diner Review №50

I love somtam so good

Diner Review №51

The food was great! I was impressed with the quality and attention to detail of both dishes we ordered. The Bangkok rice with beef was excellent; well-spiced, great texture, beautifully presented. The chicken Khao Soi was also very good - rich and creamy with a great attention to detail in plating and perfectly cooked fall-off-the-bone chicken! Make sure you crunch some of the pickled veggies and squeeze the lime into the Khao Soi as well.

I look forward to seeing Mama Mu's evolve and grow. Great work so far to the team!

Delicious food… truly mind blowing getting exposed to a different subset of flavors in the Thai world!! I’ve been here a handful of times as they were ramping up and have to say I’ve loved all the dishes so far! Complex flavors without being overpowering. Super balanced with great plating and presentation as well!

New spot, but I know they’re gonna blow up soon… go there before it gets so popular… go there when it’s popular too! Haha this is SF we love brick n mortars! And more importantly we love good food 😊

Diner Review №54

We were in the area to visit relatives and stopped in for a quick lunch. The Bangkok rice with chicken was so delicious and flavorful with a beautiful presentation. If I lived in the area Mama Mu's Bistro would be on my favorites list.

Diner Review №55

Stellar pork Pad Ka Prow! Perfect hitting spices, fresh ingredients, great value!

Diner Review №56

We stopped in Mama Mu’s Bistro for an impromptu late dinner and we were so surprised and impressed by the quality of the food and the freshness of the ingredients. We devoured everything before we even had the chance to take pictures of the food! Everyone in the restaurant was so kind and service was great as well. They explained that they have a limited menu that will change frequently, and the dishes reflect different regions of Thailand. We really enjoyed that we got to try things we wouldn’t typically order. It’s definitely the best Thai food we’ve had in the Sunset. Highly recommend!
