Come join us for the best Thai Cuisine experience in downtown Savannah
We had a wonderful pad Thai, massamam curry, and Thai tea on a drive home from Cumberland Island and loved our experience here! The food was yummy, the staff were wonderful and extremely kind! The prices were great, with perfect portions as well. The decorum and jubilant interior added to the experience as well
Called in to order takeout, ready in 15mins, food was still piping hot when we sat down to eat about 20min after we picked it up. Got the crispy spring rolls, nothing really special simple spring roll nice crisp to it even after travel time, sweet sauce gave a nice sweet tang of flavor to it. Drunken noodles with chicken, mild spice, so flavorful, spice was just enough for me, tons of veggies throughout the dish. Chicken was nice thick shavings, good portion of it too. Flavors all arpund just blended well and made a fantastic dish. Sweet and Sour dinner with Tofu was served with a side of white rice, was very fresh fruit that kept their flavors but blended well together. Good portion of Tofu, and nice amount of fruit/veggie/meat ratio. The Tom Yum (lemongrass soup) with tofu was a good size portion. Great flavors, with very fresh ingredients that all balanced each other out into the perfect soup!
Staff was very friendly and effiencent. Will definitely be back to try more! Thanks for a great meal!
It is great that they serve crsipy duck. Not all Thai restaurants serve it. While the mango sticky rices is OK, instead try a fresh Thai coconut -- be sure to use the spoon to eat the inside tender coconut meat after you've drunk the coconut water. The waitress told me many customers fail to enjoy the meat.
We visited Ruan Thai Cuisine in Savannah and had an unforgettable dining experience! The restaurant offers an extensive menu full of authentic Thai dishes, each bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. From the fragrant curries to the perfectly cooked stir-fries and flavorful noodle dishes, everything exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The service was efficient, and the food was prepared with great attention to detail. If you’re a fan of Thai cuisine, Ruan Thai is a must-visit. Highly recommend for an authentic and delicious meal! Give me a reaction back if you agree!
I loved this restaurant, we
Went twice in a week.
Congratulations
Loved this place. So friendly, great service and several Kelly Clarkson songs were played which shows they have great taste in music.
Great foods Great service

Service was as bad as anywhere I can ever recall visiting but it was Christmas day, if that matters. Food was ordered "spicy hot" but was as bland as I can even imagine. Not recommended.
Absolutely the worst place to eat I’ve ever had. I was in hospital two days with diarrhoea and rigorously vomiting never again the staff are very ignorant also
Really bad service. No water served or asked. Food so so. It is rare to have Thai Food that is not good but here it is so…

Stopped by this evening for dinner with a friend. We had spring rolls, coconut soup, cashew nut stir-fry with tofu, and drunken-noodles. Originally, I ordered the fried wonton, but when they arrived, the filling was barely there. The drunken-noodles were very favorable, and my friend loved the soup. The customer service was great, and besides the cool air coming in when the doors were opened it, the atmosphere was great.
very good thai food
The Snapper was tough and was not presented good.

My husband and I live in Savannah, often want to try different restaurants. We had a very good dinner here recently. I had the Cashew Nut w/chicken and my husband had the Musamman Curry. The service was excellent. A good find on Broughton Street.
Service was good. But, I absolutely did not care for their food. My dish smelled like a wet dogs mouth. Was not tasty at all.
Hands down, the best pad Thai I’ve had in the south. I moved to Florida from Southern California 11 years ago and I had an array of food options that were perfect. I have had Thai food in Florida but nothing quite hit the spot like the pad Thai here. We evacuated for hurricane Milton and I found the perfect Thai food. 10/10 recommend!
My husband and I had a great date night. I will be back for a second date.
Waste of time and money. Not worth it..
Very friendly and delicious.
Ruan Thai is the best authentic tasting Thai restaurant in Savannah. We have been coming here for years, and have never been disappointed. The food has always been consistently delicious every single time! All the servers are super nice and very welcoming. We usually start off with the combination plate. I usually order drunken noodles or yellow curry, and both are super flavorful and delicious! This is seriously our most favorite place to eat in Savannah. No other thai restaurant even comes close.
If you're looking for a great place to have authentic Thai food, I would definitely recommend coming here. =)

I love this place. I always get the red curry and it’s delicious. Super cute how the rice comes out in a heart shape. The honeydew boba is always a must
Excellent Thai food in the middle of Savannah shopping district. All our entrees were good. Only complaint I have is that the soups were too salty
Heerlijk gegeten!
The food was not as good as I expected but I guess it depends on what you get. I did not like my pad Thai :(
Absolutely Best food
Staff extremely Friendly
Most of the dishes can be made vegan, because everything is freshly prepared.
The waitress is very knowledgeable about the menu and aware of different between vegan, vegetarian etc. The drunken noodles flavorful and load with fresh vegetables.
Our couples getaway last dining experience and it did not disappoint! My husband ordered the Lamb Chops with rice and yellow curry. I did not see what I would typically order from my favorite Thai restaurant, so I described it to the server and she and the chef was able to create it: Pan Seared Salmon placed on Thai eggplant, bamboo shoots, broccoli and carrots drizzled in green curry with a side pho noodles and side of green curry. I also had a delicious salad with ginger dressing. This restaurant may not have been as busy as others on Broughton, but don't sleep on it! The customer service alone is worth another visit. Our meal including tip was about $90.
The crispy duck and Tom kha were amazing!
The food is really good and staff are very kind especially Shawn. He is really nice and have a positive attitude which makes are dining experience 10/10. I highly recommend this restaurant. Good job to the staff!
Do not and I repeat Do not try the lamb chops. They were absolutely horrible. I eat lamb chops and the time and could not do anything but spit the very first bite out. Even my guest tried one and had the same experience as I. The owner would not even consider removing the $30.00 charge. I offered to pay for half out of the goodness of my heart but she wasnt having it. She wanted me to pay for the whole thing. She said because I wanted them thouroughly cooked as lamb chops should be that it was my fault.
Delicious Thai food. Vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian options. Warm friendly service. Good price. Challenging parking.
This past weekend, we were visiting Savannah and ventured to this Thai restaurant in the heart of downtown. While the location is convenient, especially for those catching a show or exploring the area, my overall experience was underwhelming.
Letdown on Flavors: The biggest disappointment was the lack of flavor in most dishes. The fried rice, a staple in Thai cuisine, had a mushy consistency that resembled porridge more than the usual fluffy texture. The spring rolls, which should be bursting with savory fillings, were a bland surprise. It felt like I was chewing on raw vegetables with no seasoning. The star of the show, the pork dish, was equally uninspired. The meat itself was simply boiled, resulting in a chewy texture and complete absence of flavor.
Small Portions, Big Prices: Adding insult to injury, the portion sizes were on the smaller side. Considering the lackluster flavors, this made the meal feel overpriced.
Parking Pains: If you're planning to drive, be prepared for a challenge. With limited parking options in the downtown area, finding a spot might add extra stress to your dining experience.
Recommendation: If you're looking for a flavorful and satisfying Thai experience, I recommend looking elsewhere. This particular restaurant fails to deliver on the vibrant tastes and textures that define Thai cuisine.
WORST DINING EXPERIENCE DOWNTOWN! Never have I been so rudely served. I ordered a sweet tea and spring rolls as my starters and the tea tasted like pure SUGAR (disgusting and undrinkable) and the spring rolls were oily and only cabbage?? When I attempted to send the items back….. the waitress tried to tell me that i couldn’t? which i have never experienced that in my entire life of living, she was very rude and kept taking about how people were dying of hunger. I was confused and scared, and i’ve never left a bad review in my life but i guess there’s a first time for everything.
My wife and I visited while on vacation in Savannah. Food was excellent, service was excellent, and the atmosphere was excellent. We will return next time we are in town.
I had a delicious meal .. and I liked sitting outside watching all the people walk by …
If you are River Street, well worth the walk up the death stairs to this restaurant!
Clean, good service, rapid service, and food was good and reasonably priced
Friendly enough staff, but the food had no spice even though we ordered it hot. The pad thai tasted like it was made with sweet and sour sauce
Pad seew was the best! The peanut sauce for the chicken satay was the best I've ever tasted.
$2 for water after spending over $175 on meals and drinks. Not a quality or respectable establishment.
$2 for water per person on St Patty despite spending $175 on food and adult beverages. Waitress said “it’s just business” when asked why we were be charged for waters. What a joke of an establishment. Food wasn’t great either
Didn't even get food because the woman behind the bar is not nice. Not only is their food subpar to Flying Monk, but they were changing $2 for water bottles and refused to give tap water. They even had a "St. Patty's" menu with elevated prices, whereas Flying Monk did not change prices and gave free water.
Her words "if you can afford $2 water you can't afford food". Ol Karen cut needs to get a grip
Go to Flying Monk. They are better in every way
Okay. We thought this was the best Thai in the area when we lived in Savannah. We have lived in a couple other areas since and there is a notable difference. Lots of fond memories but not good thai.
Ordered the very tasty combo appetizer platter, followed by some very delicious curry dishes. Service was personal and and attentive. Could easily recommend to anyone in search of exotically spiced cuisine.
The food is out of the world delicious , this is one of the best restaurants I've found for Thai cuisine for this type of food in savanna and srounding areas , the Currys are the best and coconut soup , Mongo stick rice amazing
Food was ok. Service can do with some serious improvement. We ordered a vegetarian noodle with Tofu no egg. It had to be returned twice. 1st time because it was made with Eddie, second time because it had a piece of chicken. They didn't even comp or offer an apology.
Went here with a group of friends. They had lots of choices of Thai food, but overall it was just okay. I liked my meal but it wasn't particularly flavorful. I did get the mild since I'm from North Dakota, and I don't know if my poor taste buds could handle more heat, but the flavor in general was lacking. Again, as a North Dakota native, this wasn't bad (hence the 4-star review), but it wasn't a place I'd probably go again. Some of the friends I went with go weekly though, so it truly is worth it to try it if you are curious about Thai food.
Let me start by saying the service was Great!! Secondly please know they DO NOT HAVE SUSHI! The internet; Google and YouTube has lead me to believe that Ruan has sushi. This is not the case. The wontons had maybe half a teaspoon of filling, the pad thai was swimming in sweet and sour sauce (never have I been served pad thai with sweet and sour sauce). I felt the coconut curry sauce was not fresh or made in house. It lacked flavor. I expected much more.
Great service, clean restaurant. Food was..... Not good at all. Everything was too sweet. The pad Thai smelled and tasted like ketchup. The cashew stir fry seemed like everything had been boiled.
Great food and service. Would definitely recommend the panang chicken
We came here just for dessert because we had dinner elsewhere right across the street. The waitress, who seemed very delighted to serve the table beside us, heavily downgraded her cheer after learning that we were there just for dessert. This is very representative of average American dining service and showcases the shallow culture.
That being said, the dessert we came to have was sticky rice with mango. The rice was boiled instead of steamed, AND THERE WAS A FREAKING CHERRY IN THE MIDDLE. This place seemed to be run by Thai ppl, and seeing them service sticky rice with cherry was horrendous. Needless to say, we didn’t finish it and left hurriedly.
Excellent food .. slow service .. little chaotic with seating and checking out guests !
We come here every year and the food, and service is great!
*Thief Alert!!!*
I left my water bottle at this restaurant and went back to collect it within 5 minutes of leaving the premises. The staff dismissed me and insisted that the bottle wasn’t there when I know for a fact that it was! Extremely disappointed in this place
Amazing trying thai for the first time 😁😁😁 our waitress was very kind and th good was amazing.
Had a wonderful lunch here today. Had Drunken Noodles with peanut sauce and Cashew Nut stir fry with a delicious Spring Roll. Large portions for only $10 each. Great service. Will definitely be back.
Very rude asian woman. I asked for take out, just asked for salt and pepper and she insisted on getting a tip. She took away salt and pepper from my table! Never have experienced this before. Very bad
Food was amazing and the service was great. We will be back.
So, I've been in Cuba working for 15weeks... disclaimer, because my palate has not seen amazing Thai in that time, and my eyes have been dialed-down to Cuba standards.
This place is gorgeous. Intimate, yet casual. I was here in shirt and flip-flops (my bags got delayed), and I felt just slightly underdressed. It IS Saturday, so folks put on better clothes.
The food was on point. I asked for the Combo Appetizer - O ate it all cuz I am a fatty, but it is enough for 2 (no more than 2 though). The noodles were cooked to perfection, i had the "hot" and they made me break a slight sweat, which is perfect for my taste.
Viktor, my server, was very attentive to my fairly specific needs. Loved the guy.
Fun little space. Great service
I ordered the red curry with beef. It was delicious. It left me wanting more. I only gave 4 stars because the portion was a bit small and the beef was a little tough. It was affordable, which I suppose explains the somewhat small portion. Service was great and so was the atmosphere.
Good food at a reasonable price.
My new favorite place to go to for lunch!
My experience was great the food was great and the service of all the staff was great. My server recommended some dishes and he was not wrong. Thank you very much Shawn I appreciate your recommendations and enjoyed everything. I highly recommend Ruan Thai cuisine savannah. You will not be disappointed.
They have lunch menu, food is very good and very reasonable price. Shaun is great, he did took care of us well, Loved the food and place.
Perfect dining. Great heat when you ask for it.
I enjoy all of this food. It's become a lunch tradition and I bring in many co workers. But we have slacked a bit because usually our server is Shawn he is awesome and polite but he hasn't been there lately and the newer people just don't compare ive started to call to check if hes there. It's like the food even tastes better when Shawn is our waiter.. food is delicious but I won't be back unless Shawn is there
Excellent place to dine in. The service was great specially the server which went above and beyond. The food was amazing. Highly recommend this place.
Poor service attitude, discrimination by waiters.
Awesome service. So nice. Ginger chicken is my favorite of all the dishes!!
My husband and I travel all over the country and THIS IS THE BEST THAI RESTAURANT we have ever eaten. We have eaten here 5 times & every dish was prepared & cooked to absolute perfection. We have never been disappointed. The service is quick & friendly and the atmosphereis so relaxing. No other Thai restaurant even comes close. If you are in downtown Savannah, this restaurant is a MUST TRY!
I ordered a couple of stir fry dishes to pick up and when I picked up the food the bill was higher than posted online. I mentioned that the price posted online is wrong and the person who served me said that it is not their website. The food was very low quality Thai food. It was very oily and did not taste like the usual Thai dish. I can cook better Thai food than this restaurant. Apart from this the food caused stomach upset for me and my wife. The price of food is high here and the quality is awful. I made a big mistake choosing this restaurant and hope others can avoid this place and find a better restaurant that has better quality and is not so pricey.
10 dollar lunch in downtown Savannah.
I went today with my niece to eat and the Asian waitress was very rude, she never took our drink order, she snatched the menu out of my hands, she never asked us if we needed anything else, in the end she demanded a tip and yelled at us in front of the people. It was a horrible experience because this lady is very aggressive.
I’m from out of town but come to Tybee at least 3 times a year. Every time I come down I have to come here. I’m pad Thai obsessed and they have the best pad Thai I’ve ever had. The servers are always friendly! If you’re in Savannah you have to try it!!!
I am Mexican and the spice here I couldn’t handle hahaha my husband and I loved it. Definitely you should give it a try. Yes it’s expensive but it sooo worth it! ❤️🤷🏻♀️🥰
Food was flavorful and the service staff was very nice.
Tasty Pad Thai and received food quickly. Take out containers were packed neatly and came piping hot.
Delicious food, service was great.
Stopped in for a lunch on a work day. Service was great/quick. There are several items on the lunch menu for $10-12 dollars. My food came out quick and tasted amazing.
I had the yellow curry with chicken and medium spice level. I found the medium spice good with just enough spice to taste but not too hot. The chicken was cooked perfect and tender. The spring roll was good too.
I’ll be back with my family.
Best pad see ew I’ve had, and at a great price. Perfect spot for a quick lunch!
First time:
Panang Curry - outstanding
Pad Thai - phenomenal and just a bit sweet
Garlic Chicken - Fantastic
Definitely will be back.
Good Thai food! Green curry was good, and medium heat is pretty spicy. Noodles were great. I ate it all. Pretty good Tom Kha soup, it was missing something but still good. Coconut shrimp was good, if you like that kinda thing. They only offer a few beers, saki and wine. Bummer, no cocktails. The curry was my favorite.
Delicious food! Great prices, and the staff is wonderful. Just so sweet!
We came in late after driving all day and the staff was happy to serve us. We had a few people tend to our table, the young man that poured our drinks was the friendliest person we had met on our trip here. The food was pretty good, but a little different then what we are used to. The Thai tea was some of the best we have ever had. Next time I am in the area, I will come back to try the Drunken Noodles.
Good Food. We were there for lunch and had their lunch specials. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. Very conveniently located in the historic district. We were there on a week day and late in afternoon so the place was not crowded. The ambience etc is ok but the food is highly recommended.
Great food and service all for a good price!
I am deeply disappointed of the service I have gotten at this restaurant. There are many incessant things that I have seen that occurred while waiting for my food. An employee going by the name of "Pim" were ordering other employees around and even demanding them to take tables which I found very unsettling, knowing that she is not the boss nor manager, which an employee that I have spoken to communicated that manner to me. While waiting for my cheque, it took atrociously long, in reasoning of the employee which i exclaimed earlier kept talking continuously. I asked the lady for my cheque myriads of different times, but, she just kept talking which made me a little uneasy in reasoning that I was in a rush.
The food was delicious and the service was great. We went about an hour before closing, usually we don't dine if a place is about to close but they welcomed us in. We ordered appetizers, entrees and warm sake. The food was so delicious and fresh. Great experience.
Great drinks
My wife and I, our first visit there, was very good. The food surprisingly good. The server. Mr. Shawn extra kind and helpful. That service, allowed my wife and myself to make a second visit. Different cuisine. The duck. Very, very good. Shawn, our requested server continued to live up to his previous performance. My wife and I returned this past Wednesday to try something else we saw on the menu, the lamb. All smiles from me. Three visits, three home runs, three touch downs, yes, three Slam dunks! Each person is different. But for my wife AND myself, this is one good place to eat. Thanks Ryan Thai. *****
Great service and location but unfortunately the food came out so fast it was cold.
Needs improvements in flavor. Most of everything we got was lacking flavor.
I ordered a Pad Thai noodle bowl. It was very good. The price was also reasonable. I definitely recommend this place.
3 - average
Our waitress was trash. She did the bare minimum in service-she did not smile and had an attitude. She seemed like she generally did not care. She told me that I needed to pay attention when I was on my phone. Also, I left my umbrella at the restaurant and she acted like she didn’t know where it was but it was behind her back. I was about to leave, but then I realized it was behind her so I took it and left and she didn’t say a thing. Also the food is bad — worst Pad Thai ever and the rice was mid. It was a rare Thai restaurant L. That Pad Thai tasted like ketchup.
Expérience décevante. Friture au goût de vieille huile. Basil au poulet sans goût. A oublier
AMAZING! No other words required!
While pad thai may be a favorite of Thai food enthusiasts, don't get it here. The server will treat you like she saw you eat glue. The Thai Coffee was great all things considered
By far my favorite Thai food in Savannah! I’ve been here for both lunch and dinner, and the food is always great. As expected, it all has a kick, but the flavor is amazing. My favorite dish is the garlic chicken and vegetables. I always order mild and add more spice with the table jars of different sauces they provide. Very good service and space as well.
Slow service. Weird iced tea without milk.
Food was great and lot of vegan options
Was here many years ago. Food now did not impress me. Larb was chopped to coarsely for my taste. Dressing so so.
When I was not satisfied with the preparation of the porkchops due to it not being seasoned. I asked to substitute for something else I was giving an explanation that didn’t justify the preparation. Appetizer and atmosphere is great.
The food was really good. I had drunken noodles which tasted a bit different than I am used to but it was still good. My husband had Ramen and he enjoyed his food as well. They only issue was that the menu was pork heavy which isn't typical for Thai but it was GA.
The food & service were great! The waiter had relevant suggestions and delicious they were! Would go back again and again!
Saw the score on Google Maps and the foods are beyond my expectations. The taste is authentic Thai food.
this place was so nice!!!! the staff was so friendly and our server was amazing and very funny. i had the chicken dumplings for an appetizer, and it was FANTASTIC! the red curry was a little strong on pineapple, but the food overall was great! we stopped by in Savannah to have dinner and we were very happy!
We were ignored the entire time. No menu, no water, no appetizer came even after mentioning; then the appetizer came very late after we ate our meal, the meal was under-spiced (medium tasted zero mild). Waiting for the bill, had to find waiter to ask for the bill-
Do you have time to wait around while waiter tended to others she seemed to know?
The restaurant was very busy and they don’t seem to have enough wait staff but our waiter worked hard and was attentive despite having many tables. I was disappointed that tea came in a bag. Loose tea is so much better. I ordered mild bc I’d never been here before and wasn’t sure how spicy the food was. I’d recommend not getting mild bc my dish needed more flavor. Husband got a spicier dish and really enjoyed his. Mine was good though.
First time dining in and the meal was very good. The shrimp and crab was delicious. I will definitely come back to visit.
This place will not chuck you out if it is 15 minutes to closing time. They care about their customers. A lot of other places turned us down. And the best part is the food is fantastic, arrives in a timely fashion and is flavorful. A hidden gem with a sensibly priced extensive menu.
Tom Yum was one of the best we had! Loved the patio area. Service was great, very nice.
Great service and great food. We'll definitely be back!
Our #1 Thai Restaurant with a 9 hr drive one-way. The best.
The food, service and atmosphere were all great! Highly recommend!
Delicious food and nice staff! I understood that they were busy, and the waiters and waitresses apologized and let us know that they were on their way for us to order.
Excellent food, great value for the money, fast service. Only $10 for spring roll and entree for lunch.
Absolutely Amazing 👏 the crispy duck is exquisite.
Best place for Thai in Savannah
Tomyum soup is only water & lime juice ( i put more sugar&fish sauce ). We order snapper fish but not have vegettable steamed same in menu and why is amerikan salatt with mayones ? 😂 i paid 55€ For snapper fish but they said 35$ ? It is better if 55$ with fish & papaya or mango sour salatt .
Please provide electronic billing, the handwritten note is not clear and misleading. We were 2 adults and 3 kids, our total was $118, for 2 entrees, 2 kids meal and 2 apps, when we try to find out the total, the server acknowledged that it includes gratuity but it wasn't written anywhere. Other than this, the food is not freshly made either, for a restaurant like this on prime street, I would have expected lot more but ended with huge disappointment. There is also a road worn going on in front of restaurant, so please plan to park somewhere else and walk to the place. I would not recommend honestly this place.
This is an average Thai place. The grade I have given compares Thai to Thai restaurants. The food was average for Thai restaurants. Out wait staff were better than average the atmosphere wad average. Servings since was good. I requested Thai hot green curry and it was.
Five stars all across the board …omg the crab fried rice is bombbbbbb and you get a nice size portion and a good bang for your buck…the service was amazing ambiance was super nice and I received my food in a timely manner …I am still dreaming about that crab fried rice definitely one of the best spots I ate at while visiting Savannah..thank you !!!
Beautiful place, best thai food, great location. Good service.
Must try Thai cashew nut dish served with some sticky rice.
Wonderful experience.
Good food with amazing price.
Very good Curry
This place has a great lunch deal and has quick service. I come here for lunch sometimes, I usually get either the yellow curry or panang curry with tofu. Thai Iced Tea is great here as well.
Great Drunken Noodles and spring rolls! The servers were incredibly nice and the food comes out pretty fast. Definitely give this place a shot!
I never gonna go in Ruan Thai cuisine so slow service even it wasn’t busy took for forever to bring food and not even drink and food also not good there is no test!!! Guys think about it before you go in this restaurant!!!🤬😡
Had Vegetarian Red Curry, absolutely delicious
Food was good.
Best Thai spot in town. The food is wonderful and the staff make the experience special every time we visit.
Service was AMAZING! The food was hot and presented beautifully!! Our server was Brandi and she was so sweet. The place is clean and gorgeous. I had the yellow curry with chicken (medium heat) and it was perfect (a perfect balance of sweet and spicy) and ONLY $12!!! I will be coming back :))
YOU HAVE GOT TO STOP IN HERE!!! The food was authentic and delicious. The price was fare, the staff phenomenal. A must try. Went for dinner one night and straight back for lunch the following day. (with my whole family)
Delicious food and great service.
