I had Pad Thai for the first time on my first visit here. It was so flavorful and filling. The restaurant had plenty of seating and had a fresh look. The Tom Yum soup was also really good. I couldn't stop serving myself extra bowls!

All their food is on point! Their portions are good. Their spice rating is accurate.

I personally recommend you get a thick noodles dish (maybe Pad Kee Mao) and a curry dish (Chicken or Tofu Red Curry) if there are two or more of you.

What a disappointment! This place used to be wonderful and now it was so bad I had to throw out the food because it was inedible. On top of the Pad Thai tasting like a bowl of peas...literally there was no other taste than peas...yet there are no peas in the dish 🤔 I found hair in the yellow chicken curry. The fried wontons were decent, but I will never be back. I should have listened to my mom when she told me months ago that it was so bad she called and asked what was wrong with them. Apparently they have new owners and new recipes, which are much to be desired.

One of tje best Thai restaurants in the area. Love their vegetarian options. Must try their spring rolls, beef fried rice, and papaya salad.

It seems that speed is the name of their game here. The waitress brought us water and just left them in a clump at one end of the table for us to hand out. I asked if I could try their Tom Kha broth to maybe order 3 pots ($16 each). The same waitress let me know they can't let me sample since it is only made to order. That tells me they are using the packets, thus neither homemade or authentic. Cucumber salad was cut in large steaks rather than a standard thin cut to absorb the vinegar dressing.
When our waitress started delivering food, things got weird. The spoons for the soup were completely submerged so we had to clean it off in the bathroom before eating our meal. We had to ask a different waiter for water twice. Finally, they include a MANDATORY tip (see photo). I normally leave a 22% tip (I don't subtract the tax) so this was the tip of the yellow iceberg.

Used to be a great place. Eggrolls and Pot Stickers were luke warm, red curry was way to sweet.. chicken fried rice was decent, orange chicken was alright in the past I would of given 5 stars Sorry Bann Thai

The best Thai food in the Riverside area! Every time I have taken someone new there, they rave about how great the food is and always want to go back when they are in town! I've tried many of the dishes but the yellow curry is my absolute favorite. Full of flavor and the portion is a good size. I'm so glad to see that they're back open!

I recommend. don't be afraid to try something on the menu you've never heard of before.

Parked my car here to go inside to eat. Walked across to show my little son the trains. Then went back to the restaurant to have dinner, and they called the tow company to tow away my car. When we asked several employees what happened, and who was responsible for my car being towed away, they all acted like it wasn't them. They were all very elusive. Found out from tow company that the restaurant had called. I had to pay $435 to get my car from the tow yard. Illegally towed!!!
The restaurant completely lied to us and had our car illegally towed.

Owner is amazing he really cares about his customers. I ordered through hub grub and he kept in contact with me because the first driver had canceled and was doing everything he can on his end to get me my food and honestly this is the 3rd time I’ve ordered from there and every time it’s just an amazing experience and not to mention how amazing the food is too! The Mongolian beef is my favorite so far!

We've been going here for a few years. We love the glass noodle soup and the Cashew Chicken. It's not close to our house, but one of the better Thai restaurants in Inland SoCal, in my opinion. Friendly staff too!

We have been going to Bann Thai since they opened. Today was the 1st time for carry-out. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. The glass noodle salad was very dry. The Mongolian beef had no flavor. We will definitely not be back for carry-out.

Great service and better Thai than I’ve had at other local Thai places. Not as slimy more of that great hot wok “BBQ” flavor and texture, like I remember having in the big cities. Yum.

Just tried Sam's for the first time today they have excellent customer service and delicious food. I tried the pad see ew, fried banana rolls, and mango sticky rice, all delicious. Currently it is take out only so I recommend calling them ahead for pickup and checking their menu on line as it's currently limited items.

Haven't had a disappointing experience yet. For awhile spicy wasn't spicy, but the spicy is back! The wait can be a little long at times.

Take out last night for at home Movie Night We were so very disappointed. Ordered the PadThai and GraPow. Serving size of each was tiny. We got the Egg Rolls only because they had no Shrimp Rolls. The lady did not even know what the Shrimp Rolls were and yet they are on the menu. We have eaten here many times before, the servings have never been this small. They were less than half of what they have been in the past. I know through these difficult times we are all suffering. WE should be emphasized.....We should not have been portion reduced in order for the business to catch up on lost benefits. WE will not be dinning in or out here again.

No it was the Mission Inn location. Out order was for exactly what I described above. The first check, PadThai. The second check, Grapow and Egg Rolls.

You servers are very helpful. If you need anything they dont waste time getting your order in. Your is the very best I've ever eaten. Keep up the good work

Had the Pad Thai and it was bland. Just for the Pad Thai alone I rate this place a 3 out 5. Also had Tom Yum soup for the first time and it was delicious. The green curry my girlfriend had was good, but nothing especial. The service was great as well.

Delicious costs about $20 a person if you figure in the food drink and dessert for dinner. But it's definitely worth it.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We used to love this place - but after tonight’s horrible experience, we will never ever go back. We walked into a quiet nearly empty restaurant with no wait time. When we were seated, we were left unattended for 45 minutes, before our server finally came to our table. We asked for waters and had to wait another 30 minutes - our server disappeared again and we waited at least 30 minutes to actually order our food. There were maybe 6-8 other people dining there at this same time, who were also waiting on the server for several minutes. When our food was finally brought to our table, it was lukewarm at best - our server placed our food on the table and quickly turned around and walked away. She didn’t check on us or ask if we needed anything else. We would have appreciated at least one refill on our waters, as we had ordered spicy fried rice and drunken noodle, but instead had to wait another 30 minutes for her to come by. We asked for the check and it included 18% gratuity. We told her we didn’t think it was appropriate to include such a large tip, because we had to wait so long for service and food, and our food was barely warm. She proceeded to argue with us about the 18% tip and then got frustrated and stormed off. She returned with a re printed check and showed us that it did not include gratuity. I always leave a tip, but this time I chose not to.

*Also, the bathrooms have a strong foul odor that blows into the dining area every time someone opens/closes the bathroom doors.
* we were seated near the kitchen area and observed extremely unsanitary conditions, including dust and grease build up above the “expo counters”, dead roaches on the floors, and rat droppings.

*HORRIBLE SERVICE. DIRTY KITCHEN and DINING AREAS.

please do yourself a favor and DON’T eat here.

Horrible experience, 2+hour wait from start to finish with an empty dining hall, I see why it is empty now very bad customer service. Unclean/Unsanitary cooking/dining conditions evidence of rodent and roach activity. Inattentive waiting staff had to ask multiple times for food, and completely forgot about the kids meals after multiple requests, finally after 45 minutes of waiting the kid’s food came out. Then the waitress argued over our check after we politely pointed it out that is was unacceptable to force us to pay a tip for VERY subpar service and food. Save your time do not come here. Go to GRAPOW off of Alessandro ave you will thank me.

Our 3'rd dinner, the 1'st 2 were excellent but tonight the Appetizer Combo was over fried egg rolls, cardboard shrimp sticks, dried out fried tofu logs and wantons that were fried to an indescribable rock hard bunch of folded wanton skins. The Pa Thai rice noodles were not fully cooked, the noodles were still hard and crunchy w/ a red glue like covering w/ chicken chips mixed in. Even when I sent it back the waitress apologized and handed me the check including the GROSS Pa Thai. Must be a new cook on Sunday nights??? Masaman Curry was the only acceptable dish served tonight.

The Husband and I often go to Sam's Bann Thai when we stroll downtown and it has never disappointed.

Hadn't been in a while, so we went tonight, $50 gift card in tow, after walking the Festival of Lights in downtown Riverside.

I noticed a "NEW" sign outside and a somewhat different interior, so I asked our server if there is a new owner. Yes, since May I was told.

Service was slow. My husband ordered Calamari as an appetizer which was always good. For $8.75 he got five or six greasy, rubbery sticks with some sauce. Then he ordered a fried eggplant dish. "Sorry we're out of eggplant," our server told him. Okay, what about Pad Thai? "Oh, sorry we're out of Pad Thai, too." Well so now what?

He ended up with some spaghetti noodles and fried tofu. Then we waited for flatware because there was none on our table. *Sigh.*

I had pot stickers and Yellow Curry which tasted okay.

Then, the crowning moment: "We can't take this gift card because we aren't affiliated with the other (Bann Thai) location." Even though your name is Sam's Bann Thai and your address is in the back of the card?

"Yeah, I know, that's weird."

Wow.

I think this was our last visit to Sam's Bann Thai. I'm hoping the original location won't disappoint. I still have a $50 card burning a hole in my pocket

Love this place

This was my first time visiting, but it won't be my last. It took awhile to get seated even though the restaurant wasn't packed. After being seated our waiter, Po, was very attentive and service was quick. The food was great and the wait staff friendly. They were able to accommodate vegetarian needs without missing a beat. Highly recommended

Super busy but the food is great. Make sure you tolerate spice if you order number 8 spice because it is spicy! Lol Edit: I would order your food ahead of time and then go pick it up because they are so busy that it takes a hot minute before you get your food. I don't personally find this rude, but some people do. Not their fault that they have bomb food and everyone wants it.

Here is why my three stars. First of, food is excellent, one of the best thai food I ever had. Unfortunately the service is not so great. Wait time could be as long as 30-40min before gets to your table. Seems like the place is always understaffed and because of that you may have to beg for a refill even if it's just water. If your lunch time is flexible I would recommend this place 100% but if you have a set lunch time, you may have some explaining to do to your boss for taking a longer lunch.

Food is good but togo orders are rarely ready when they say they will be so I often end up waiting there. I suggest having them call when the food is actually ready if you are close. The last order was packed poorly and now there is sauce all over the containers, napkins (are soaked), and my car. But the sauce is tasty...so I can't be too mad.

I think it used to be better. Or maybe it's just this location. I did enjoy the Thai coffee.

My wife wanted to go since she was craving Thai food. It was just like any other Asian food and kinda pricey. Great service though.

This is the first time I ate at this Thai food place. I had the pineapple curry and the wonton soup. You could tell they had used really fresh ingredients, and the flavors were very good. While I do like my Curry a little bit thicker, this one made up for it in flavor. The vegetables in the curry were fresh and cooked just right. The soup was also very good.

Great Thai food. I always get the yellow curry. My mom and I come here often. Sometimes the beef tastes a little chewy but other than that it’s lovely.

Our family has been going to Sam's restaurants for about 10 years now and the food and service has always been top notch. Great family owned Riverside business!

This review is limited in scope because I only ordered a lunch special and took the food to go. With that qualification, I'll say that this was among the best pad see ew I've had. It was also still piping hot by the time I got back to my office which can be a problem with takeout.

The sides (egg roll and pot sticker) were a welcome addition and the "salad" was nothing special but the crispy wonton strips made up for it. Plus, what can you expect for $7 bucks and change.

All in all a great experience in an area I wouldn't have pegged for great Asian food.

Best Tom Kha soup!

The food was good, but the service was pretty slow, even on a slower day. We went there for lunch, and we thought we would have enough time to eat before going back to work. We sat down, and ordered right away, which was about 1:10pm, but our food didn't start coming out until 1:40pm. We didn't have unusual orders, but it was slower than we would like. We will probably try it again, but we will try to order ahead next time to see if it might be faster.

We came in as a party of 26 and the server was on top of everything. She was friendly and even let us split the check up without complaint. Drinks and food came out in a timely manner and the taste was amazing. We sampled the variety of dishes and raved about the curries. The vegetarian tofu and garlic green beans option was excellent too. Their thai iced tea is my favorite drink there. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend any dish they have to offer.

Orange chicken was the best we ever had. Had to share with my son and daughter and they too said it was the best orange chicken. Crispy, crunchy and oh so yummy!

Pretty average. The place although pricier because of location surprised me because it's pretty run down inside. The food was just ok and their beef taste like it came out of a can.

I probably wouldn't come back here ever again. Just being honest.
