Thai and Malay comfort food
Craved for Malaysian food and stopped by here for the first time as it’s conveniently located across from the outlet. No wait on a Sunday night, food came out hot & fast. We ordered chicken satay, Penang green beans and Mamak Mee Goreng- all tasted good esp the sambal flavor in the green beans. Will visit again.
Disappointing Experience at Basil Delight
Visited after a while and left feeling completely disrespected. Ordered four dishes and left a 10% tip, which apparently wasn’t good enough for the cashier, who commented rudely about my friend's tipping etiquette. This behavior alone was shocking.
It didn’t stop there. I asked for an additional to-go box, and the staff member responded with an attitude, saying, “Didn’t I just give you one?” The rest of the evening, we were subjected to nasty looks from the staff, which ruined our dining experience.
The service was mid at best—took a while to get any attention just to place our order. If you don’t tip to their expectations, be prepared to be treated poorly. For a place we’ve supported while living in this area for over 13 years, this level of disrespect is unacceptable.
We understand the stigma around tipping, but that doesn’t justify their unprofessional behavior. A disappointing experience that has us rethinking our support for this establishment.
As much as I wanted to like this place, I didn’t. Went here last night for a much needed date after being home with a new baby the past 6 months. Put our name on the list & asked how long and the person there said they couldn’t tell us. There were plenty of open seats, but they only had two workers, so we tried to be understanding. After waiting 40 minutes to be seated, they sat us down at a table that had been unoccupied the entire time we were waiting 🙄 Sat at the table for another 15 minutes just to see them take orders at another table that came in AFTER us. 20 minutes after being seated, our orders were finally taken. My husband ordered the shrimp and chicken pad Thai, and I ordered the crab fried rice. I was hoping that the quality and taste of the food would make up for the lack of service, but sadly it did not. Both of our dishes lacked flavors and we were both greatly disappointed. Also there is only one gender neutral bathroom, where one guest thought it would be okay to blow up (of course this was not the workers’ fault, but completely inconvenient for me). This will be the last time we visit here.

Food was decent. Green curry wasn't spicy (ordered level 3) and was grainy.
Extremely pathetic place! We did not like the service at all! The ladies working in the restaurant almost fought with us and were forcing us to leave a tip! Food was good but the service was extremely poor! The ladies should be fired immediately!
The service wasn't very good.
I thought this was more of a Thai place, but the Malaysian side of things is the strong suit. The beef rendang kori (curry) was fall-apart tender and richly flavored with the heady aromas of curry. Thai standards were very well done as well. Reasonably priced.
Stopped in for lunch on Sunday afternoon was a little busy so thought this place must be good. But unfortunately not. Ordered basil chicken fried rice and bamboo shoot shrimp both were pretty bland and mediocre honestly.
Best gala Thai food in the area
Attitude of the person taking an order is very poor … food is good but sorry that’s not enough
Very poor in responding to the customer .. they get angry fast .. they need to improve their soft skills
Awesome, tasteful Thai food.
Bad service and environment. Food quality and taste is good .
One of the better Thai restaurants in the area, IMO. Service is quick, staff is friendly and food is good. This is my go-to Thai place and I almost always get Pad Kee Mao.
What has happened to this place? Everything was super sweet and tasteless. The service was terrible. When we mentioned the bland/sweet taste, we were told this is how they make it!
The food was good. It did take a little longer than expected to get our food because there was six of us. I would go back again, but not with so many people. But I would go back again when I'm in the area.
BUG IN MY FOOD. Look, I generally like the food here but what truly pissed me off today is that after replacing my rice with a bug in it (looked like fruit fly), not apologizing, they had the audacity to push me to tip them. They should have made something free and instead wanted tips for terrible service and questionable food hygiene. I went with my kids. This is unacceptable. Shame.
Great laksa!
The food is great but the costumer service is zero!
Excellent service, very swift, polite staff, food was delicious, satay chicken so tender with a lovely peanut sauce, chicken rolls not too spicy and very flavoursome, tom kha soup with shrump was a 10 out of 10, pad thai with chicken and shrimp by far the best tasting dish, pad kee Mao was gorgeous but a little fiery, Thai basil rice with chicken very tasty. Both red and yellow curry's were delicious and the beef was cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
So sad and disappointed that they are rude people.I tried to get soup only as I was not feeling well, 8:40 pm no one picking up phone @ 8:43 someone picked up and put on side (seriously no manners)Then I send my son.(restaurant is only 5 minutes away from my house) they said we are closed. Horrible Basil Delight team
My family and I went there last night. We walked in exactly at 20:10. We were standing there for like 5 min or so to be seated. No one came to us at all. So, I walked up to a waitress who was just done taking someone’s order. I asked if we could get a table!! They had a table available, and another that had to be cleaned. She said they were done serving people to eat there, she also said that we could order to takeout. I said the closing time was 21:00, and it was only 20:15. She then said that they were really busy in the kitchen. I asked what was the difference between us eating there, or taking the food to go. They would’ve prepared our order regardless. She then walked away without saying a word, which I thought was very rude. I’ve been a regular at this place since they’ve opened, but really their service now sucks. If I could rate them below a 1 star I would. She was unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone I know anymore.
Family liked the fried rice. I enjoyed the soup 😋🍲
Good Thai halal food.
Didnt even get a chance to eat. They state they close at 3. We show up 2:10 and both women behind the counter both sigh and say we're closing at 3. You need to order in 2/3 minutes, and i was honestly kinda shocked. After me and my 3 others look at each other, we said no thanks. Would give no stars if I could. TO THE OWNERS: I am so ever sorry for bothering you guys so terribly much to find a local place to eat I wont make that mistake again with basil delight.
Food was good, but it's not spicy enough. They make it "American hot" not "Thai hot"

Good food, Sala Thai is better but this is closer.
Edit: I went again. This place slaps. Crazy good stuff.
Updated review (Aug ‘23)
It seems that they have improved their quality and so I am updating my review.
Old review:
Terrible food. They claim to be authentic but they are not. They served us a Penang Curry which was watery. When we asked them to correct they said it’s fine. I have owned a restaurant and you don’t treat customers this way. We have been here many times before. The owner doesn’t care about quality and it’s keep getting worse. Plus the prices are super high for sub par food. We paid 126 for a small meal out of which the Penang Curry was inedible
The food was delicious & service was great. Typically very few Thai restaurants serve Halal food in Bay Area. It was our second time & would go back soon.
1) I’m just one of these people who appreciate and polite person with a smiling face and didn’t get that here. Same person I talked to when I called in my order who did not like that I had a couple of questions that the menu does not give details about. She got annoyed.
2) a lot of these Thai restaurants put all lettuce in their summer rolls with about 2 pieces of cucumber and a couple of pieces of tofu. Cmon..neither of these items cost enough to not be able to put 4 pieces of each at least. LOL. The curry noodles were really just noodles and bean sprouts with very few pieces of chicken and a very few pieces of shrimp and even egg was sparse so again. Basically noodles. The taste was good but if you want just a plate of noodles this is the place for you, it’s possible that if you “eat in” they give you more. Not sure that I will go back to find out .
Very bad service if you are Asian . Would never come here again. Next table non Asians were being given special attention where as with us they acted as if we are not welcome. Will never come back here.
Best Thai food I've ever had!!! Flavorful, timely, great service!!
I found the food to be very good and authentic. Flavorful and portions are huge as well. Highly recommend the fresh rolls!
Overall food quality and Flavors were wonderful.
Bad customer service
It is great that the food is halal and they mix Thai with Malaysian dishes. The food is hit or miss though. I prefer their curries and Noodles dishes to other things (like fish or fried rice).
Food was okay..Staff was not.
Staff was insisting for some fixed minimum tip amount.. Felt racism as they asked where are we from on not agreeing on their ask for minimum tip...No good service and not a good experience as well..
FOOD
Realizing I hadn't eaten while running errands I was able to find parking (can be difficult in this shopping center) easily so I popped in.
Ordered:.
📍 Pepper Garlic with Chicken
It was so tasty, thinly sliced chicken with great flavor. The broccoli was steamed and had no additional seasoning but I didn't mind at all.
Can't wait to return and try more menu options at another time
Located in the Pacific Pearl center across the street from the outlets.
The service was incredible quick
Good and environment were great
This place went so down. Came by to order summer rolls to go. Was mocked by employees, felt not welcomed, and most of all - the rolls are a disaster, inedible, unpleasant to view, just a ton of lettuce wrapped in torn soggy rice paper. Disgusting!!! I wish i could add pictures, but i don’t see how.
The food was okay, the service was horrendous... one of the worst experiences in recent memory. We will not go back here.
So far the worst Thai food I have eaten in my life. I had to spit out the Tom Kha soup since it was too sweet. I have a feeling they put 10 teaspoons of sugar in every dish they serve. Even the spicy entree I ordered lacked any spiciness. I had to dump possibly more than half of my food. I am hungry. I need to now raid my fridge to find something else to eat.
Best Thai food in Dublin/ Pleasanton.
yummy yummy. pineapple fried rice -> 💣.com, chicken satay -> 💣.com, orange chicken -> 💣.com!!! pad thai-> 💣.edu
Food is good, service was good (at least from my server) there were 2 servers/cashiers, since I do not know their names I will call my server 1 and the other server 2
I paid at the register to server 2 with my card, I signed my receipt and went back to my table to get my family, as I arrived to my table I asked my husband for cash (I planned to tip my server personally in cash)well… server 2 went to my table to ask me to sign my receipt and pointed at the tip area.
Tips are not mandatory nor an obligation! I do like to tip according to the service and I did not appreciate her demanding attitude.
I was planning on going back since I really liked the food, unfortunately you have lost a customer and of course I will not recommend my family and friends to visit this place.
I absolutely love the Thai Orange Chicken. It is really tasty and the sesame just tops it off. The thai tea is great too, but seating is very hard to find on busy nights. small place for a big party.
The food is ok but not the best. I ordered pad tai and fried rice. It wasn’t as good as I expected it to be but it’s not bad either. There’s not many Asian restaurants in this area which is a shame. If you don’t mind the wait time and decent Thai food give this place a try.
I came here three times and it seems as if each visit gets worse and worse. The food is not good and the owner who I met during my last visit does not treat his customers nicely.Very rude person. I don't think I will be returning. Also, the food is not the best
I dined here twice and food was good but nothing special. The table was sticky and the restaurant has a weird smell inside. However, during my visit yesterday on 12/7/2022, around 6pm as I was parking, I observed the owner of Basil Delight yelling at a customer and security guard in front of the store by the parking lot. The reason I know this was the owner of Basil Delight was because he said it very loudly as he was yelling at the security guard. I thought his actions were very unprofessional and his actions shows a lot of the owner. If he will yell at a customer and his own security guard in that way then I can only imagine how he treats his employees.
I will not be returning to this place of business after observing the way he treated a customer and the security on site.
Poor table service and I didn’t give you that much tip. You guys disputed my credit card and added extra tips to my receipt on your end. Dishonest people
Very good, casual Thai restaurant. We ordered the chicken satay, basil fried rice with beef, and pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. Very delicious!
Delicious Tom yum soup, just what I needed.
Very good food and friendly employees
One of the best Thai iced tea
Inconsistent quality. First day food was delicious but next day Tom yam soup was like spice with water and other dishes was only ok.
Love their pad now. They are also very far and prompt in getting order ready on time.
Horrible HORRIBLE customer service… man up front told us that there was no tables for us to seat at, so we ordered to go, as there was no other choice for us. As we waited outside for our to go order, the lady inquired our party size and attempted to seat us. When we walked in, we informed her of our to go order and if we can eat our food here. She then said she cannot move forward with seating us. After going up to the same man up front and letting him know there were available tables, he simply did not care or acknowledge his wrong doing and had an attitude whilst doing so. Will never be returning to this place. I implore you all to never come here.
Such a bad attitude. Went in for lunch reached there 2:34. Timing says 3pm close. She refuse to take us. Only take out. Why would I give you business with this attitude....SMH
Not going back
This place was great, food and service were both excellent.
I had lunch here for the first time but this is a go-to Thai spot for my friend and her husband. The restaurant is bright and situated in an accessible area. The satay sticks were tasty - particularly with the fresh cucumber salad. We also had Thai fried rice, beef and bamboo stir fry and I think it was a red curry. I was basically breathing fire after a second bite of the red curry and the bamboo and beef was kind of average - the bamboo shoots needed to be more tender or at least finely sliced. Fried rice was good but I'm used to having a couple of lime or lemon wedges to squeeze over the rice before tucking in. Speedy service, friendly waitress and the air conditioner was on blast which was a relief from the heat.
3 out of 4 dishes were very good and 1 was average. Service was courteous and food was quick but then we went at a low traffic hour. Tom kha soup was very good though one person complained It was a little too sweet. Basil fried rice was also good.
For me a very important thing is this is all HALAL restaurant.
Loved the food. Fast service.
Over priced
It was ok. The cashew dish didn’t have cashews. The tap water isn’t served with ice. The rice was a little dry. The dish flavors were good. They need more servers. Probably won’t go back.
Good, decent
I went there with some coworkers for lunch.. I've been there a few times and it has always been consistently delicious. Special lunch prices fast and friendly service very clean.
The best Thai food that I have had in a long time excellent excellent
Good food everyone can enjoy
Surprising authentic Thai food taste. The abiance and decor are not the typical mainstream Thai restaurant which maybe misleading but the food is very good. From curries to stir fried noodles. The fried rice are delicious by themselves..
Cooks and servers are Thai. Coke products sold by the can. Plenty of plaza parking. Walking distance from S.F Outlets.
Not very good at all unfortunately
Our favorite place to eat in this complex. I think their Thai ice tea is the best in the valley, and my wife loves their vegan menu options. Great service, always a pleasure to eat there.
The food here is really good and the workers are very friendly! I would eat here more often! I loved it!
Been here 5+ times and everything I seem to order never disappoints.
Stopped by here for dinner after spending half a day at the Livermore Outlet mall. We ordered Tom Kha soup, roti, yellow curry with chicken and pineapple fried rice with chicken.
Surprisingly, they don’t see pork. No pork option in any dish which is a first for me in Thai restaurant. Giving 4 star because of that. They could improve their decor, but over all a decent place to eat
Sticky rice, my favorite, is available with the wonderful kuri with beef
Always delicious and fresh!
walked in at 8:30pm on a Friday night and the host said they were already closed..Sign say they close at 9pm on Friday. Go figure. Ill be taking our business elsewhere from now on.
Thai ice tea is good. Tom Yam wasn't balanced (too sweet).
Tasty food and friendly service!
One of the best Thai food in the area
Not a Thai style.
Before going to outlet store in Livermore, decided to get something to eat, came across BASIL DELIGHT! What a great restaurant, such a great selection of food, planty on the plate enough for lunch and some to take home. Delicious foods, great service and plenty of parking.
Definitely worth the drive and will be back again and again.
Amazing flavors, my fav Eggplant Chicken.. Everything is so flavorful..
I like the Thai food here. Just found it a little oily on the basil fried rice. Otherwise we had couple orders and it came out good. The staff are friendly. They seat you and take your order in a time.
The Basil eggplant, yellow curry and pad Thai were delicious.
Can't give less stars than this. Food was horrible. Not at all fresh. Feels stale food.. been there for my birthday lunch with family. Total disappointment. Waste of time and money. Not even jalapeños and chilli sauce are good. Been to so many Thai restaurants, and this one is the worst.
Very good Thai food.
Decent food, but service really suffers when they are busy.
Delicious Thai food love this place
It is a small restaurant. We came at a time when all the tables were filled almost simultaneously. The food was fine. The service was erratic. We were a table of four. Two were served quickly and the others waited incessantly.
Unfortunately this is not Thai food. I've been eating Thai food for over 30 years I've been to Thailand I was married to a Thai woman. This was Chinese food. I highly recommend you try Lanna Thai in Livermore.
Absolutely delicious Thai and Malaysian food. Nice portions, great price.
The food was amazing! 😋
It is not a legitimate food, americanized and taste horrible
No taste , food look like old no recommendation for this place
Our order was ready within 15 minutes and since we paid online it was on a table for us to grab and go as soon as you walk in! Very quick and easy especially with these new health and safety protocols. The food was delicious and the serving is enough to have leftovers the next day. Will definitely be returning.
very delicious food.
It was an awesome Halal restaurant with Variety of tasty foods I loved it, the food was very Yummy.
Halal food, great taste and service!
Ordered a takeout, the Tom Kha soup was very good.
But the chicken wings appetizer was stale and reheated, not sure how old. Come on, guys, it's just chicken wings, how much do you save by not cooking them fresh?
Ordered takeout tonight and loved it. Fast service, super hot food and a very safe pick up process. Pad Kee Mow, Pad See-Ew and curry were fabulous. We’ll be back!
Great Halal Asian food - fresh with great service and atmosphere.
Halal thai. Very quick service, nice clean restaurant and friendly staff.
Consistently great!
Good place, near the outlet, enjoy authentic Thai food and shop. Nice staff and very cooperative. Bush during the day time, they don’t take reservations. Overall recommended!!
