We have been doing business since December 2005. We have authentic Thai food.
I regularly go to this restaurant and I also order from them on doordash. One thing to note if you order from doordash the dishes are all a few dollars more expensive. Let's start with the stir fried dishes. Most of the basic thai stir fried dishes like basil chicken and their noodles like pad Thai is very average. I personally hate it when they put bell pepper in a thai basil chicken. Anybody who had eaten a Thai basil chicken in Thailand will never ever see bell peppers in a basil chicken. This seems to be a common practice here which over powers the actual chilli garlic and basil flavor. Nobody also puts onions in a basil chicken dish. The pad Thai is what you will get in any Thai joint in North America , 50 percent authentic and it's too sweet. There should be a balance if sweet sour and salty in a pad Thai. The papaya salad is good not great. The salted crab papaya salad they also peanuts which is unusual not usual but it's ok. Some if the sea food dishes from the chef special menu for stand out and get prepared well. The whole garlic fish fried is nice. I also like their Tom yum noodle soup. It's spicy sour and good fresh herbs flavors. I do like their tod man plaa or the fried fish cakes. They do a good job at that and the way they present it is good also. The chef special dishes usually give you a better culinary experience while the other dishes are quite average. Yes they use authentic ingredients and I have not sensed any time so far where I felt they used frozen or ready made ingredients. The cooks in the back are Thai or lao and I have heard them speaking and so I know they have the potential to cook up much more authentic dishes. I hope they can innovate and be bold and execute the dishes the way people eat it in thailand. It is a good place to go as a group of four or five as their is good seating space. It's also a good place go with family. Lastly their mango sticky rice is well made. The mango has always been fresh and not over riped and the sticky rice hot wish nice milky coconut milk. Not too sweet and not too sour mango. The selection of dishes is good. A good balance of stir fry, soups, curry, sea food , noodles etc. If I was in Thailand I would have rated this place 1.5/5, but being in North America I give them a 3/5. Definitely an above average place. But not good. Part 2: went bad tried the papaya salad with crab Thai hot. It was very good and authentic like Thailand. Also tried the tilapia fried fish. The food has improved.
A little thai place tucked away in a plaza of chinese restaurants, life would seem to be hard but apparently it’s not that bad. Inside, the tables and plating are really neat, and the owners are very polite. I like to use Tom yum as the measurement for how good a Thai place is. The flavors are complex that’s why. Thai Cafe’s Tom yum is slightly on the sour side, the shrimp are a good size but they are over cooked, also not enough of a lemon grass flavor. The satay is very flavorful, but the meat doesn’t stay moist, drys quickly
Taste of food is not that great, it’s average. We have ordered to-go couple of times, one time they got the spice level wrong, second time we had order small quantity soup, they had charged us for large and gave small. This time they have given all burnt roti. When we called the restaurant, they said they will call us back and now they are not picking up the call. Worst experience.
We’ve ordered a takeout from here. The food is consistently great—we always go for the Shrimp Fried Rice, Spicy Thai Basil, and fried coconut shrimp. The food is ready quickly. The only thing that would make it better is if they offered delivery.
Popular lunch place. Dinner time, very less crowded but food is excellent!
Panang curry is delicious but too pricy.

You cannot fight with the customers for extra tips and that too for 2-3 dollars....its humiliation...please teach your staffs to behave
I ordered chicken drunken noodles for takeout, but there’s no chicken in it, i saw when i got home, i called the store to ask if they can change it but nobody picked up the phone, very disappointing
I ordered thai vegetable fried rice and tom yum vegetable soup for dinner . The soup was just fine but there was no spice at all though I asked for medium spice and the fried rice was very bland , no salt , no spice, not enough veggies and the worst of all it smelled like smoke all over. Not enjoyable at all and can be much better
The food was good with lots of vegetarian options. The service was quick and friendly.
Ordered Penang curry chicken. It was of very poor quality.
It seems an okay place but you can definitely find better. My yellow curry was too sweet for my taste. Potatoes in it were too firm. And waitress didn't even ask me about spice level, giving me a non-spicy version.
Delicious Thai Basil and Thai Tea. I'd recommend the lunch special, but the soup wasn't flavorful. I'd have preferred if I could have substituted it or upgraded it for Tom Ka. The soup was set out upon arrival. While considerate, the broth was really flavorless.

Good option for quick bite
Great panang curry with chicken

Awesome traditional Thai food. Simply loved it.
This place was awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. The staff was wonderful, and the food was excellent. We ordered, and ordered, and ordered. We made sure to order a few of all the different styles and everything was really good.
Small dine in place, but the food taste was good.
The owner was sweet.
The food is decent. But I can’t believe the curry doesn’t come with rice. The curry is ~$15, which is acceptable. But the rice costs me $4 and the quality is low. Their menu is very deceiving.
We ordered Cashew chicken, yellow curry, pineapple fried rice, and some chicken satay with peanut sauce. Everything was delicious and was good portion size for $80-90 (3 - 4people). Unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of the dishes, but they were vibrant fresh and hit the spot!
I also order a Thai iced tea separately and was very happy. It was perfect!
We ordered food from Thai Cafe Restaurant today, food tastes below average the prices are too high not worth it...We ordered 3items it costs $50...Veggie Spring Roll is $12,the highlight part is Veggie soup it costs $19 not at all worth it...The portions are ok...please think twice to order from this restaurant...prices are too high
It was a surprisingly a decent find.
Please try their Tom kha soup and red curry chicken fried rice.

YUM!!! Maybe the BEST PadThai ever. Very generous portion with Large, TENDER chicken pcs. Thin noodles.
Pumpkin curry PERECT: Again, generous portion with Richly flavored broth and fresh veggies-not too spicy.
Also, ready in a jiffy!
And, All better the second day!!
Small hole in the wall Thai place in a Chinese plaza. It's cool if you're not looking for Chinese food. Had the pad kee mao, thái spicy (thai hot in this case) and it met expectation. Would totally come back if I had an urge for Thai food during work.
I have been eating/taking out from this place for years. Food is good but service has really gone down hill since the covid.
Their own website is not up-to-date with their operating hours. You place order from their own website (not Uber Eats or Door dash) and when you go to pick it up, they say we just received the order because we just opened. When you try to call them, no one picks up and their voicemail box is full.
I am really considering if I should order from this place again or not.
Oh my !!! This is hands down one of the most fresh and full of authentic flavor thai restaurants that I have ever been to. Honestly we ate here two nights in a row. The Penang curry dish is amazing.
Good food, but even mild is enough spice to kick my butt.
Great service, great food. Hidden gem
very delicious
Nice people, prompt service, generous portions, great taste and pricing. Definitely worth a visit.
We use to love this place until now but today they dropped the ball but when we told the issue they fixed it . Thank u
I wish I could give zero stars if there is an option. I ordered drunken noodles and they were also smashed like a potato and the chicken is so stale and half cooked which is very very odd. Very high pricy and waste of time even thinking of grabbing food here.
Hope this helps somebody to save some bucks.
Ordered pineapple chicken fried rice. By default it has shrimp, I said don't add shrimp and they dint so good listeners .
Overall tasted good, little bland and felt more rice than veggies. I will visit again if I'm nearby. This complex and nearby complex has many shops and restaurants to spend some time.
Pineapple fried rice is very good
Tasty food, good portion sizes , quick and efficient service . Made a reservation for 10 people just 5min before arrival and they were very prompt in the arrangements . Highly recommend
Good food. Good proportion of veggies/meat w.r.t. noodles/rice in various dishes. Perfect portion sizes and easy on the pocket.
Ordered a portion of noodles with shrimps . Got 5 small pieces and a pound of noudles. The taste is awful. Total waste of money.
Good food but very loud and crowded.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!!
Where to start to describe such a miserable weekend dinner experience;
1. Refused to honor free roti offer that shows on their website. Waiter had no clue and talked to, I assume the owner. The “owner” came over and acted like he had no clue about this offer. How can this be, not knowing what’s on your own website. Was very rude and not the right way to run such an establishment!
2. Their website shows rice for free with purchase of an entree. When asking waiter about this, he again had no clue. The in-restaurant menu does not state this. They basically said the on-line menu was wrong and we had to pay for rice, even though we ordered four entrees, of which three should have come with rice per on-line menu. They charge $2 per rice, that should feed two. First portion was small, barely enough for a kid. Second order was larger, similar to what other places usually offer. After spending $70+, you feel like your are being “nickel and dimed”!
3. Found two hairs in the noodle dish!!!!! When we asked the waiter, again he seemed clueless, and offered up a weak “sorry”. We would have raised this issue with the “owner”, but he seems like an absolute a-hole that we said screw it and just wanted to get out of the place. Waiter acted like he was going to comp us, maybe just the two sides of rice we ordered, but after taking 10 minutes to run my credit card, the bill was the same price.
So in summary; very rude and inconsiderate ownership, waiters seem clueless and/or powerless to help, don’t honor offers on their website, don’t honor menu on their website, and found hairs in one dish (reflection on overall cleanliness?).
Good place. Their pineapple fried rice is sweet but good
Tries Drunken Thai Tea, something different!
Bowl and pot are about the same portion but a lot more expensive.
For the quality of food, a bit overpriced. Service friendly. We ordered a beef soup that was compared to Vietnamese pho, but the spice profile was completely different. Just okay overall.
Awesome food very nice soup
Very good. Will return next time I'm in SJ.
Very good and very quick. Almost too quick. The tom yum broth is excellent! Seafood portions are big and the vegetables are fresh. Will definitely come back to try a curry dish.
Pricey for the small portions but good tasting and good service
Very good place to visit
Vegies were not choped properly and was too big on shape .. there were very less rice and was lot of vegies which makes d taste bland ..
I liked the pineapple rice (with chicken and shrimp),kee mao noodles and ground chicken with basil. The place small but always crowded. Better book in advance if you want a seat.
Good Thai food, decent portions for a lunch meal
First time here. Lemongrass pork, Sate chicken , and cashew chicken all were very good.
I'd definitely recommend to eat here. It is packed at lunch, so be prepared.
A decent Thai place, usually crowded during lunch time, major problem is the parking in the campus. I would suggest better to car pool for this food during lunch time
Been here twice and both times the food has been made hot and fresh and soooo good. The Angel wings Appetizer is the best !! Will keep returning.
Normally I don't write review but I created the account just to let people know my experience at this place and hopefully replay my message to the management of this restaurant for improvement because I came across this behavior from this specific waiter many times in the past.
1st I just want to let people know that the food here is not bad, not the best in town but decent enough to satisfy my Thai food craving.
We went to Thai Cafe for a quick lunch with a few of my friends from out of town. The place is half full at the time. The waiter came and we placed our order by reading out the number on the menu. However, instead of noting down the name of it, she raised her voice and ask us to read out the name of the dishes instead if give her the number on the menu. 10-15 mintes later two of my friends food came out but the rest of our order we're no where to be seen after 20 minutes (our friends almost finish up their dishes and our food are not out yet). We politely asked the server to recheck out order and she look at us with a pretty mean face (not a single apology) and walk directly to the kitchen. 10 minutes later our food came out finally. However, instead of apology for the delay, she slammed the bowl to the table and quickly walks away. We were speechless...one of my out of town friend who also own a restaurant business thought that our server might be the owner's daughter or wife in order to have that kind of attitude otherwise she must be fire long time ago. She make it like we were there begging for food from her. We should have give $0 tips for her (15% tips automatically included for group 5 or larger) but we gave the 15% anyways...
If you value your time and want a good lunch/dinner environment, don't bother come to this place because it will ruin your mood. However if you just want the food, please call in and Togo it to avoid the terrible customer service.
I write this review in hope of Thai Cafe management see this and retrain their employees about customer service, especially our rude server.
Overall, decent food but absolutely terrible customer service.
Good Thai food!
Massaman and noodle dishes were great! Service was also great
Very sweet dishes, very unfortunate. No need to come back
Ordered a few curry dishes and appetizers but was annoyed when my curry came with no rice. Curry traditionally comes with rice and to have the sauce but not the rice killed the meal. If you’re not going to include rice you should notify the person when ordering. Long wait and bad service would recommend else where.
One of the better Thai restaurants around Milpitas. Very busy little plaza, which recently added about 50 more parking spaces.
Quick and quality spot for lunch. Lunch specials are a good size for the price. Had the Garlic Pepper Pork.
It's crowded. Fast service. Its just the food was not my taste.
Stopped by after a long day at Great America. The service was okay. Food presentation was good, but the portions were smaller than most places. Looked good, but taste was lacking.
It could have been a 3 STAR review, but got home and found out they charged my card $99 when the meal receipt was just $60. They also charged my card another $11 then refunded it. Had to lodge a dispute with my bank. I've never had this done before.
Good food
Food was ok. Service was pathetic. Waitress should have some patience and respect towards customers. Will never ever visit this place again.
Impolite staff. Loud music. I requested them to turn the volume down a little, just because i was the only customer dining then. They asked me why. Even after explaining them that it is too loud, they did not bother. They were so arrogant that they keep changing the songs and it went on until i finished. Few seconds before i finished my lunch, they switched it off. Also they were passing comments in their own language when they found that i didn't tip them. Food was not bad. In addition to the music, staff were giggling, chatting and laughing - all loud and noisy. On top of all these, there were vessel noises from the kitchen - rolling, dragging, falling down. Looks like they just want to chit-chat, laugh, giggle, have fun and not care about the customer. Horrible experience. I dont have option for a negative star. Otherwise i would offer them negative, generously. I strongly do not recommend this place.
OK.
The food tasted good and the service was quick. The staff is very friendly. But I feel I have tasted more flavorful Thai food in other places. So, on taste front, it's like a 3/5. However, it's budget friendly and being strategically located, it's a convenient stop for a quick lunch during office hours.
The tom ka chicken soup is absolutely scrumptious!
Foods very good, particularly the soup they serve before meals. Be prepared to wait though as service is a bit slow and have had them either forget to place orders or check if they're ready unless asked. Make sure to check up on your food and you should be fine.
Nice Thai food
Foods are so sweet, they didn't ask the spicy level of food, my colleagues are very disappointing with their service.
Taste closer to Thai original. I like lad-na here. Nice staff and friendly.
Not to bad. Wouldn't go again.
Very tasty food. Quantity is a LOT! 😀
My husband always pick the pineapple fried rice and i would order the pad thai. This is an authentic thai restaurant.
I cannot really say if this is authentic Thai flavour
Love the pineapple fried rice!
They were not following the fire department rules. They asked to go out because of request from fire department after making us wait for 1/2hr
Reasonably priced
Rude service
Good food
Good was great, service excellent, and both my friend and I were happy we came.
Delicious Thai Food and Tom-yum Soup
Nice Thai restaurant with limited veg choice
Crappy food, worst quality never ever go there.
Best Thai food around. Hip restaurant great atmosphere get here early for a seat. The wait staff is super nice.
Nice and quiet at the end of the lunch hour
Yummyy
Both my girlfriend and I have gotten food poisinoning from this place at least two times. I wish their food safety wasn’t an issue because their food is amazing.
