Excellent Thai food at very good prices.

10/17/22: Had the fried fish with chili garlic sauce. Was perfectly fried and the sauce had a great fresh flavor.

10/20/22: Had the War soup which is a Thai Chinese soup. Great flavor especially when you add some of their vinegary hot sauce. I like that they serve it in a special bowl with a fire to keep it hot. Fried banana was very good too.

3/9/23: Had the Tom Kha with chicken, medium spiciness. Was good but they only put chicken, lemongrass, basil and green chilies. Would be nice if they put some vegetables in there.

2/10/25: Had the Yellow Crab Curry (excellent) and the pad Thai (decent but a bit too sweet)

Great food, great price! We were a party of 6 and it costs only 76$. I had a shrimp cake with steamed rice which was soo good. It tastes like a "sweet sin": kind of seen that you feel accomplished after that.

We kept waiting and waiving, but they never came until after we finished eating to drop off the bill. On top of this, they FORCE everyone to pay over 15% tip. They did NOT earn that tip! They are sneaky. They add the tip as a line item, and they fold the receipt to hide the tip they added, and they DO NOT disclose or list the amount they charge for tip (service fee) on the receipt. Additionally, they don't give you the receipt to keep after you pay. They only accept cash. We unfolded the receipt and noticed the amount charged was wrong and overcharged. The waitresses are very aggressive when we ask about the overcharge and undisclosed mandatory tip no matter the size of your party. The waitresses lie claiming that the menu indicates there's a mandatory tip, but we did not see it on the menu. They have QR code for the menu, and no where does it indicate there's a mandatory gratuity fee. Gratuity is earned and depends on the quality of the service. They also made a mistake on at least 3 orders: we asked for no onion, and they added onion on all of them.

Tom-yum srimp soups, shrimp cake.. best food to me.

My family and I move to Texas and missed this place a lot. Recently we came back for a couple weeks and this place was a must to come back and visit. Still as great as we remembered.
Be prepared to park a couple blocks from the restaurant though.

The food tastes good, and it’s fairly priced… however employee is rude. We gave a generous tip and it was taken by one employee to the register (cash only ) . As we were leaving another lady came to pick up plates and said “tip was not included. No Tip? Hmm” She looked so angry and disgusted when we indeed left a tip. She pointed at the table and demanded tip. We just walked out . Wont be returning.

Tasty, flavorful, open late, fast service, great prices, and vegan options! Classic Thaitown spot with big tables that are great for groups- if you can get one. The curries especially stand out. The fried tofu is delicious, but I would love to see them add a mock duck or vegan chicken to the menu. They could pop over to Silom to buy them. :)

They kept coming up to us asking for a tip which was a little off putting… I feel like the standard procedure is to leave a tip right before you leave. Maybe they were trying to rush us out, this is the first time something like this happened and I’ve been coming here at least twice a month. I’m pretty disappointed and the interaction made me feel embarrassed

The food is amazing and well priced. The location lacks parking. And the decor is old and not super sparkly. But it is one of my favorite spots for late night eats! So tasty.

Ordered calamari for pick up today 5/3 and food is not worth ordering. First, difficult to find parking. Second, the serving is very little. Third, the calamari cost almost $11, saggy, too spicy, and are not what you would normally get at other restaurants. Very disappointed

Known for its delicious food, Torung offers a remarkable experience. The key factor is the amazing taste of its food. Onge guest I invited years ago, started his dinner with a soup, and when I noticed that he hadn't started with the salad or other dishes, I invited him to taste them. His answer was, "Is because I cannot stop eating this soup!". Basically ANYTHING you order, will be delicious. The Staff is amazing too. Kind when welcoming you, they listen carefuly your requests, and are quick when bringing food to your table. Restroom is nearby and most of the time is available. Nevertheless, two disadvantages you will find when visting Torung: Only cash accepted (no credit or debit cards), and only street parking. Finding a spot is not easy. You eventually will get one but after certain amount of time searching. This place brings the authentic and traditional taste of the Thai food. They open every day from 5 pm to 1 am, I believe. I highly recommend paying a visit here. The experience will let you satisfied 100%.

I had the fried Calimari and Thai iced tea. It was a very esthetically pleasing dish. The flavor profile was savory with a bit of a spicy aftertaste, and it was very pleasant.

I ordered from Torung for the first time through DoorDash last night. I ordered shrimp fried rice and unfortunately found a bug in my food as I was eating it. I was disgusted and unable to finish.

I have been coming here for 40 years. Th food is always great the service is fast. There is no parking so I get food to go.

Definitely one of my favorite places to get Thai food when I’m in the area.
Especially late at night .
The parking is a little bit rough but it’s worth the walk if you find parking up towards Franklin. The employees are always super kind even if I take up a table for one just to order some spring rolls.
Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious.
Highly recommend as a late night spot after hitting the bars or clubs.

The food is amazing as always it has been for years. I've been going since college and some of the waitresses are still there. There is a long wait ✋️ to be seated because it's really popular but totally worth it

I was there yesterday food was good. I spent $127at the end of my bill there is a $16 fee i asked them they said that charged for covid fee and there tipping. So decide for me. On that restaurant when you enter cash only didn't say anything about this fee. Please be careful when you go to there.

**I'm not sure about the accommodations for folks with certain food allergies, but I would ask first before going, if I were u. Just call & ask, the employees are nice.

And there's no long wait for your food, either!!! Fresh, hot and pretty quick!! Oh and did I mention DEEEEELISHIS??!! 😋

We picked up our food around 10:30pm while driving back home from universal studios. We have ordered chow mein and pineapple chicken fried rice. Food tasted sooo good can’t even describe. After a hectic day, when we had that food we felt soo refreshing and food tasted excellent. We have been to so many thai restaurants, but never had this kind of taste. I highly recommend this place for thai food lovers. Only difficulty would be in finding a parking spot.

I have been coming to this restaurant at least 3 times this week and on this day today may 29th 2023 had the absolute worst most disrespectful experience ever the fool that they brought out was a coconut soup The Tom Ka, And it was horrible it was tap water with mushrooms floating in it and again I've been at this restaurant 3 times this week with other friends and they were pleasantly pleased but today one of the ladies would a white ponytail claim she's a manager she made a spectacle of me she had the audacity to raise her voice at me and yell at me complaining why I didn't like the food the broccoli was still an old and she was disrespectful to myself and my friend I will never eat here ever again and then they called us n****** and Chinese but what she don't realize is that that speak 5 different languages and I understood everything she was saying they were very rude and very disrespectful

Do not eat here (especially if you’re black) customer service was horrible. We were cursed out by the establishment for no reason. We had to walk out without eating our food.
We’ve been here and the food was good but the dishes we ordered this time around tasted old and expired.

They started cursing at us in front of other people at the restaurant unprovoked. Calling me out of my name. Left a bad tast in my mouth and in the mouth of the other people at the establishment that witnessed it.

Have come here for decades whenever we are in LA. Huge portions at great price. Very authentic and fresh food. Thai perfection. They are incredibly fast and open late. A must go to if you like Thai food.

I’ve been going to this place for 20+ years. Not only did they miscalculate the change but they kept pressuring us to leave a tip and staring at us. They made us feel extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be returning to this restaurant for a while.

I live in the area and have tried all local Thai places over recent weeks, and this place is definitely my favorite. My go-to meal is yellow curry with tofu. It's so flavorful and a great value. Cash only, there's an ATM in the liquor store down the street if you don't have any on you.

This restaurant is dirty. Food was okay slightly greasy. They've raised their prices and they only accept cash. It's okay in a pinch but nothing special and the food is not really memorable.

This was a bit of a disappointment, with such good reviews and high ratings I was excited. 3 stars only because some of the dishes were good and some ok, one waitress was a pleasure the other seemed to be bother by everything. Spicy seafood soup was ok, pad see ew with chicken and Chinese broccoli was good, pork steam dumplings were nice! Steam rice was old and hard but what got me was cash only 🤦‍♂️ really 2022 and it's cash only?! I should of gone across the street 😒

Torung has tasty food, but not worth the food poisoning. My poor husband and child have been up all night throwing up after having dinner here. It's always something. Either bad service (the older lady with high hair bun is super rude and screams at customers), they were demanding with tips (it was weird to see them not begging for tip last night), tables are sticky, they won't give you a table to fit your food when they know you order 6+dishes, their bathrooms are gross (smell and graffiti everywhere), and as I said food poisoning. I have been coming here for years now. But over the last 3 years it seems like their food has been making us sick and their service has declined. Why do we insist on coming? Because our son loves this place and we cant find another Thai place that he likes. We went last night and I only had soup as I know how hard their food hits our stomach. :-( $90 down the drain, literally.

The food is decent and not terrible, but never really left me wanting more. The price at the end of our meal was a bit more pricey then I would have liked it, though in fairness it is a good restaurant and worth the try if you're really looking for something new and unique to try, and have money to spend.

6 friends after a concert at the Greek converged around midnight. My 1st time and I was skeptical. But exceptionally quick and friendly service, outstanding food and a reasonable price. Highly recommend for late night Hollywood 🌙

The food was good. We enjoyed every bite. But in the other hand they only take cash. They don’t tell you in the beginning So we had trouble paying them. This place gets really really busy and crowded. Avoid Friday, Saturday and Sunday if you don’t like to eat in a crowded place.

I used to love this place. Unfortunately little by little the service started to decline. I ask for things and they forget. (Water refill, soy sauce, chili for soup, etc.) With the bad service they still remind you with the check, tips not included. Well, to our surprise today they now write it out. I'm not sure if I'm wrong to be annoyed, but how can you not offer great service and demand a tip? My husband paid and he took his change. They said, are you giving us a tip here or at the table? Had they asked me, I would have asked, am I getting the chili, soy sauce and water refill I asked for here or at the table. 🙄
