For over 20 years, Thai on Hillhurst has been a Los Feliz staple, serving authentic Thai cuisine.
I went to Thai on Hillhurst for dinner with my sister and we had a really great time! The space is super cute and has a good vibe. I had the Thai iced tea and my sister got the chrysanthemum infused tea which we both loved. For apps we got the crispy veggie roll + veggie dumplings and for mains we got the pad Thai + salmon. All the food was amazing and the portions were large. We’ll definitely be back again soon!
Absolutely love this spot!!!! The service here is the best and everyone was so sweet. It’s so cute in here and it was great coming in for lunch with the natural light coming through. So aesthetic!
The food here is absolutely delicious. We started with class Thai iced teas. For starters we tried the crispy rolls and sticky wings which we both recommend! The rolls had the perfect crisp with a delicious sauce to complement it and the wings were so flavorful. The panang curry and pad thai are 2 classics here that are some of the best in this side of town.
Highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner out! It’s also super cutely decorated right now for the holidays.
This place is the true definition of a hidden gem! I went to lunch with a friend and I was completely blown away with how great everything was.
We ordered the Thai Iced Tea with Lime and the Thai Iced Coffee which were both so refreshing.
For an appetizer we had to Sticky Wings and the Pork and Shrimp Dumplings and we finished them soooo quickly! The sticky wings were the perfect level of spice and crunch. And the Dumplings were full and tasteful with each bite. I orders the Drunken Noodles and my friend ordered the Yellow curry. Both were AMAZING! I was almost embarrassed with how fast I ate because it was so tasty.
The staff were kind and the restaurant was cozy and inviting. This is officially my new favorite Thai restaurant and I can’t wait to come back.
The atmosphere is what I liked the most, it gave cozy and authentic like the feeling you get at grandma’s house. I tried the Thai beer and it was the best beer I’ve ever had, I’d strongly suggest trying it. Then to top it off the food was AMAZING!!! No complaints there. Great service and super clean as well. I will definitely return.
Thai on Hillhurst is a cozy gem with a welcoming ambiance and beautifully presented dishes. The crusted salmon was tender, with a sweet-savory sauce and fresh veggies that added vibrant color and flavor. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly complementing the meal, and the appetizers—crispy spring rolls and truffle fries were delicious. Service was attentive without being intrusive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Highly recommend for a relaxed night out with friends or family.
Came here with a friend for lunch at 1pm on a Tuesday. It is a cute Thai restaurant on the corner of the block. Loved the bright and Thai themed decor. The food was good, my favorite was the chicken satay and shrimp dish. The drunken noodles was good but on the spicy side, I should have ask for mild next time. The Ginger tea was perfect, slightly sweet and gingery~ Would definitely come back when I am around in town!
I had the best lunch today!!! This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant I’ve found in LA. The wings were so good for an appetizer I almost didn’t have room for an entree, but I’m glad I did. The yellow curry (make it spicy) was amazing and so was the Thai tea. The service made the meal even better though, thank you so much for having us! Can’t wait to come back.
I had a lovely experience at the restaurant. It was such a zen and calming atmosphere. The servers were kind and welcoming that one came to explained to our table about the authentic Thai dish we ordered, which was nice to learn about their cuisine. I love Thai food in general and definitely recommend this place as on top of my list to dine in. Can’t wait to come back for the excellent taste!
I loved the food, and the restaurant had a very intimate atmosphere—perfect for a date night. They offer a wide variety of food and drinks, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Discovered this gem while frolicking around the neighborhood. We got Dark Soy Noodle (Pad see ew), Prik King and Hot Mermaid. All of which were delicious. The service was very friendly and nice :)
We're so lucky to have this local Thai spot! The food is delicious and fresh. I ordered online and (stupidly) picked the wrong pick up day. When I picked up and my mistake was revealed, the two employees were so helpful and accommodating. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
Delicious Drunken Noodle - amazing taste and super friendly service from staff. Will be coming back soon!
It really wasn't tasty. They didn't give me a fork or chopsticks, no napkins, no sauces, and no taste in the dishes. The portions are small, and it's also overpriced.
Everything was great! I had the spicy thai basil with shrimp and it was excellent
Authentic and well-prepared food (although a little under-spiced). Smaller portions, so better to order a lot. I particularly liked the larb.
Limited/poor beer selection - just a couple of generic lagers & a $14 can of Delirium Tremens (which they ran out of). No IPAs, other ales or stouts.
It’s amazing they managed to get overcooked beef and raw beef in one dish. Average/slow service but have the courage to charge 18% gratitude directly onto the bill without asking
Food was very good.

the food was so good i’m still thinking about it weeks later
The Moo Ping and dipping sauce was so delicious! Atmosphere and vibes were immaculate. Highly recommend for a dinner spot.
Panang curry and pad Thai was 10/10 chefs kiss

The food is a 10/10 I got Linda’s Fried Rice! Service is incredible, so friendly and the atmosphere is so quaint and can be easily looked over .
The food was DELICIOUS. Wouldn’t think much just driving by, but don’t skip on this spot. I ordered the Rudy’s for my main and it was so light and flavorful!!! Looking forward to next time.
This is such a delicious Thai restaurant, exactly what I wanted as I was craving Thai ! the quality of the food and taste is amazing , the pad see ew is perfection and the moo ping skewers and sauce are a must try ! The vibe of the restaurant is so cute and the staff is so friendly and attentive! All the dish are also plated so beautifully 😍
Flavorful food in a very cozy restaurant with such a refreshing atmosphere! The service was good and the people working there are very welcoming and kind
This place is by far one of the best Thai Restaurants that I have ever visited in all of SoCal. The service is A1 and the food is top tier. So if you and your loved ones are wanting to sit and converse with good food and lovely decor i highly suggest you come here for the full dining experience.
The food here was delicious and the atmosphere was so warm and cozy. I went on a girls dinner but it could easily be a great date night spot as well. The service was attentive and we got great suggestions. We had the green curry and spicy fried rice, as well as the tamarind spicy wings and veggie dumplings.
This is such a lovely Thai restaurant, it is so beautiful and quaint. The service was excellent and the food was equally amazing. And they have happy hour 5-7pm! I will definitely be returning with friends. Such a great place!

The Linda Fried Rice was bomb! Our Server was amazing! The Sticky wings were done to perfection and they had the perfect ratio of meat to bone! This might be my go-to for Thai food!
It doesn’t surprise me that this restaurant has 5 stars! I love a serene environment with lots of windows and natural lighting. The food was DELECTABLE!! I am vegetarian and my boyfriend eats meat, and we both cleaned our plates. The veggie spring rolls combined the perfect crunch with flavors. I also had the Garlic Pepper Tofu and coconut Thai Tea. I am not exaggerating when I say that it was the best tofu I’ve ever had. I’ve always disliked the texture of tofu but they made theirs slightly crunchy which I’ve never had before. Not to mention, the service was 10/10.
Delicious! Definitely recommend this spot for Thai food! Loved the fried dumplings
Haven’t had such good and authentic Thai food since I moved to LA. The curry was delicious and the pad thai was also wonderful. The spice level was perfect for me, cant wait to go back!
Great Pad Thai. Great service. Great place. Highly recommend it—If you have a date… look no further than Thai on Hillhurst; you won’t regret it!
Very cozy and comfortable place! The owners and staff are so welcoming and very sweet! Food is delicious! Cant wait to go back
This place is so beautiful and homie. The owner was so welcoming and caring. The food was delicious and authentic. Absolutely recommend

Popped into this hidden gem for lunch w/ a gf after pilates and so glad we did. We ordered the chicken satey, shrimp and pork dumplings, drunken noodles, and a garlic shrimp dish that came with rice. Everything was phenomenal and I’d definitely recommend to anyone who lives in the neighborhood.
The waitress was so kind and attentive and actually suggested the items above when we asked for recommendations.
The restaurant is beautiful inside and also has a small wine bar w/ bar stools and tables away from main dining area.
Also, if you like coffee, I highly recommend the thai coffee. So good !

Really cute place in Los Feliz, probably had one of the best Pad Thais I ever tasted! Make sure to visit if you are in the neighbourhood!
The staff was very welcoming and attentive! Food was very good especially the vegetable eggrolls and pad thai! I would definitely come back to try more items.

My husband and I were shocked and disappointed. My husband ordered panang and it was very salty. He has high blood pressure and cannot eat a lot of salt. At first the kind Waitress said he could exchange his dish. She took the dish away. My husband said what he wanted to exchange it for and everything seemed fine. Then she came back and she said that she couldn’t exchange it. The owner/chef said “no”. The chef would not make another dish for him. This was terribly embarrassing. We dine out a lot and if a dish doesn’t work we are able to exchange it. The chef let her ego get the best of her. She said she wouldn’t make another dish because my husband had tasted it with a very small bit of rice. In spite of this the waitress was nice. She was upset with the owner as well. She kept apologizing. It’s a shame. The atmosphere is nice but we won’t go back again and be insulted. Note: The restuarant is no longer called Simply Thai. Its now called Thai on Hillhurst. I don’t know if they changed owners or not.
I LOVED IT!!! It was sooooo good!!
The food was amazing! 10/10
From the ambience to the decor of the food!
I recommend this restaurant to everyone BEST THAI SPOT in Los Angeles BY FAR!
Yesterday I dined at Thai on Hillhurst and was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a cozy dinner. The menu offered a fantastic variety of Thai dishes, and everything we tried was bursting with flavor. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations.
Overall, Thai on Hillhurst is a gem that captures the essence of Thai cuisine. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings!
There was a homey feel immediately after walking into Thai on Hillhurst. The pad Thai was a classic, and the shumai was a great way to start the meal. Don’t forget to grab a Thai iced tea!
You definitely need to try the wings here, and I liked the pad Thai! The servers were friendly and welcoming, and it had a nice hole-in-the-wall feel. Definitely check it out!
Cute dinner spot! Sweet staff members. Delicious shrimp fried rice.
Just had dinner with my girlfriend at Simply Thai and I am most definitely going back! The food, drinks and atmosphere are a 10\10. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It is such a cute hidden gem right in the heart of Los Feliz. I highly recommend you check this spot out!
I recently visited ThaionHillhurst, and I have to say, they serve the best Thai iced tea lemonade I've ever tasted. The blend of flavors is refreshing and perfectly balanced. They also have the best Pad Thai in town! Plus, the staff is lovely and welcoming. If you’re a fan of unique dishes and drinks, this place is a must-try!
Walking in this place was so therapeutic, the smell instantly made me feel calm & settled. I first started off with shrimp & pork dumplings which were astonishingly tastyy.. following I enjoyed the chicken pad thai which was matched with the Thai Tea, 10/10. Ps: this is a nice cute date spot +++
Delicious food! Fast and friendly staff, we'll definitely be back!
The green curry and the drunken noodles are to die for!!!
This place is heaven!! I love Simply Thai dearly and often am craving the Prik Khing with beef. Simply Thai has probably the best iteration of this dish that I've ever had. The curry paste in that dish is so fresh and delicious and has the perfect level of sweetness. Every dish prepared at Simply Thai has much less sugar than other thai restaurants in the area, the flavors are all so balanced, and their ingredients are all SO FRESH! 10 stars!!
Lindas fried rice is one of my cravings for this place. All their food is amazing and keeps me coming back. Love this place.
Beautiful and inviting atmosphere. The food and service are fantastic. All dishes are wonderful. Our favorites are Shrimp Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle , Papaya salad and green curry. If you are looking for authentic Thai food, give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.
The rating is only for the server who was unprofessional and forced me to give a 15% tip. Did I miss the memo? Since when have customers started being pressurised to give a certain tip amount? I don’t expect to be treated like that at a restaurant and so I won’t be visiting again.
The waiter she was very rude ! I wasn’t have some money to give her - she started to fight with me about tips !
Best yellow curry I’ve had in LA
Great food...
Friendly service
Amazing good , wow !
Quaint Neighborhood Haunt
Great Vibe
Owners are great women. Beautiful atmosphere And delicious Thai food G0
As 99% of pad Thai these days it’s too sweet! Apart from that it’s above average. At $25 (shrimp) it better be! I’m sorry but it’s a plate of RICE (noodles) with (bigger) shrimp, and a sauce worth pennies. How have we arrived at $25 pad Thai!?🤦♀️
The added broccoli was essentially raw vs flash fried or steamed so that was weird. Sauce is red tinted and thicker, clearly appeasing Americans. Can’t blame them, but they know in Thailand it’s sublime. Theres a reason we swoon when going to Thailand at how good their food is. We have the technology to make it here! I guess it’s as good as burgers in Thailand🤷♀️
Best Thai food in Los Feliz! Love the ladies that run this place!
OMG. Soooo good. We live in NY and just visiting here in LA but this is much better Thai food than we have at home. Service was great too. We will be back!
The food is good but they need to change out their oil more frequently. The French fries and popcorn chicken were definitely either refried or cooked in oil that was old. (Photo included). You can see how dark they were.
The Pad Thai had amazing flavor that I struggle to find at other Thai restaurants but again, it had this sort of burnt taste that I am not fond of. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars.
Lovely place with great atmosphere and very nice staff. Simply Thai was a great place to try different Thai dishes with great suggestions from the waitress. Incredibly fresh ingredient and clean space as well. Definitely try it out.
My go to place to order out. Super solid and tasty.
The food & service was good BUT the happy hour menu on their website is incorrect. When we ordered - we were not told that the menu had changed. We were only told that they no longer do the wings on HH. We expected our bill to be 49$ plus tax, but we were charged 73$. Now, I get things change and the food was good, but when we brought it up to them that their online site was no longer updated the owner did not care - they said “the menu is subject to change at anytime” cool, but just let us know. If the owner would have honored the original price, we would have become regulars. Instead, they’ve lost out on our future business. Nothing feels worse than being ripped off. BTW - happy hour is 2$ off apps and drinks.
Quiet restaurant with good food.
I have started to come here almost every week. The service is superb and the food is some of the best I have had. I'm slowly making my way through the menu. So far my standouts are the spicy Thai beef and the Moo ping along with the pad woon Sen.
Best Thai food ever!
Drunk noodles, delicious!
Delicious delicious
Everything we ordered was just delicious
We ordered fried rice , curry, soup, chicken satay
We will be ordering again
Best Thai food, hands down. Their happy hour deals are really great too!
Lovely and yummy dinner.
Great Chinese food
Nice place to stop by and have a curry on a cold night. Veggies were fresh, curry was rich, delicious, hot and very flavorful.. I’m definitely coming back, I love this place.
The Naked Shrimp Salad is amazing 😋
Excellent Thia food and great staff , not a curry fan but thought theirs was really good
I love this new place I recommend it they have best food #mynewfavspot i them 5 star the service was wonderful and respectfully
Yum! Where have I been all these years. 🤤
I had bok choy with shiitake mushrooms, Pad Thai and Tom Yum fried rice with shrimp to share.
Food was really good. I took off 1 star because the rice was missing and couldn't go back .
The restaurant is very laid back and chill. Will definitely dine in next time
Thai on Hillhurst. I enjoyed the combination prik king chicken lunch special. The service is warm, thoughtful and efficient.
The panang curry and crispy rolls are phenomenal. Definitely recommend!
It was a very lovely place with good food and the lady met Guy Fieri which is very cool!
Amazing food
Very decent Thai food. However a little to much on the fried sided. Also did not have the rice veggie rolls.
Exelente ordene algo sencillo. Camarones y arroz frito. Y carne y brocoli. Delicioso.
Duck rolls & yellow chicken curry both amazing!
Great Thai food!
This is my favorite Thai place and I come every time I’m home. Some personal favorites of mine are the yellow curry with tofu and the drunken noodles with vegetables
I always walk past this place and I finally decided to stop… I'm so glad I did! The service team provided an excellent customer service experience and made me feel totally welcomed. The food was pretty good and they had a really great happy hour! I would recommend this place.
Food wasn't good
Good thai at a good price
Muy buena comida
Authentic Thai food run by people who are best in the business. Definitely try the panang curry and spicy chicken fried rice.
OK place, curry is different when eating at any Thai restaurant.
Very good food
Great atmosphere and great food!
I come here occasionally for lunch. Great and fast service. Decent prices and good food plus great music. What more can you ask for?
great food, good service
Tasty meals.
Great family owned Thai restaurant. Food was delicious, with just the right amount of spice, and beautifully presented. We'll be back soon!!!
Fast service, delicious drunken noodles
Overpriced... I spent over a trillion dollars on 2 items... #sad
Great spot
First time here. Had many appetizers as it was all day Tuesday happy hour. 2 for 1 drinks! Also had the drunken noodles which was some of the best I’ve ever had. Great spot!
Warm hosts and best best Thai food!
Amazing food and friendly staff
Best Thai food in LA
I wasn't too thrilled about their tom kha soup. They added like a thickener that is obvious to the taste.
Their pad Thai didn't have the crumbled peanuts which is how other Thai restaurants serves it.
First time ever in this place and I have to admit I will come back. I tried their chicken noodle soup and what a perfect taste. It was a delight. It was well done, presentable, not fats, no oils, and rich in flavor. The noodles were seasoned to perfection to the point that they tasted like the broth, with some spices and condiments I cannot make up... unlike many times I've had noodle elsewhere where the broth taste good and the rest just plain pasta. The service was good, speedy attentive but not intrusive. I love it. Great place.
Not the typical curry Restaurant but don’t take me wrong very tasty food. Service was excellent. I like hidden gems. I’ll come back for more food.
Great place, delicious food, friendly and attentive staff. Try the boxer green Curry it's the best!
Awesome food and atmosphere
Best local Thai food. It's bit small but love the food here
I love Thai food but this was the worst, I had the white elephant wich just didn't taste right and there customer service was terrible !!! And after I finished my meal I waited 30 min for the bill and I was just so upset that I walked over to them and said I wanted to leave can I please pay.....I would never eat here again , I don't see where they got there ratings but I saw it for myself . If you want bad food with terrible service Simply Thai should be your choice
Delicious food, great interior and superb wait staff!
Simply amazing!!!! Love this place it has become a weekly traidion for me and my coworkers we at least have to go once a week!Their spicy fried rice beef salad and pad thai is amazing!!!!!!Most importantly we love Jam shes the best!!!
OPEN ON SATURDAY! FROM 5 TO 11!
Simply Thai restaurant open on Saturday. @5p.m. Closed only Monday.
I've been here 2-3 times because I was with people who wanted to eat there... but I'm never satisfied with the food. I guess that's why I've only been there so few times over the past 5 years!
On this last occasion, I got the lunch special pad thai ($8). The texture of the noodles is very chewy... more chewy than I like... and it was extremely salty. I ordered a side of white rice to try to make it edible, but I still couldn't eat it and lost my appetite. I didn't even bother to take it to go... And I never waste food! so for me that says a lot. The side of rice cost $2.50. I thought that was kind of pricey for white rice, so I was a little more annoyed at my disappointing meal that I was throwing away.
But I will point out some pros! My coworker liked her curry a lot. I tried a little bit and it was tasty. The atmosphere is nice and calm, and the staff is friendly.
