This snug, relaxed place with a warm vibe offers traditional Cambodian meals & beer.
Monorom is a small, Cambodian restaurant serving authentic dishes. It is where the tight-knit Cambodian community gathers and eat good food.
I'm not well-versed in Cambodian food, so I just ordered what the server recommended. I had the Fried Fish with Tamarind sauce and it was amazing!
Looking forward to trying something else next time around.
The beef and Ginger the papaya salad even the calamari was pretty delicious the mee Katang was not what I was expecting but still good. If I’m being honest, the thing I enjoyed the least, was the white rice. It was extremely soggy and over cooked but not bad the service was great everybody was so kind and nice. They also had some fried pork skins $20 for a big gallon bag. I felt like it was a bit pricey but they were delicious I’m still working on that bag great little spot if you’re looking for a taste of Cambodia in Cambodia town, Long Beach the neighborhood and the food was reminiscent of my hometown Lowell, Massachusetts, which also has a Cambodia town we enjoyed our visit and we look forward to dining again
Stopped by for lunch after the Long Beach Half Marathon. There was a table open so we were able to sit down quickly. We were tended too by a young woman that was verrrrrrryyyyy quiet. We were concerned our order would be wrong since she wasn't writing anything down. 😅 She did miss one thing, but it was rectified right away.
The food was all freshly made, so it did take a bit to receive and the table wasn't all served at the same time, which made things a bit awkward. Nonetheless, I'd definitely return as the food was delicious.
I recommend to anyone seeking authentic Cambodian cuisine.
Great food, good value. Will return again when the itch for Cambodian food comes.
Beef Skewers are a must. As well as the Kangkong/Sauteed Watercress.
I salivate thinking of their lemongrass stir fry but everything we’ve had is also delicious!

Amazing food!! Honestly the best food I’ve had at a restaurant!!
Delicious!! Great service. I highly recommend this Wonderful spot
Greetings and host is excellent, time of foods being served is too slow, cooks need to be faster and your beef anchovies is always dried especially when I ordered it too my beef would be the wrong choice of what I wanted,my medium rare is well done and well done would be dried, come this review to better your service more because we love to support small business and we want to be of good tastes
And all small business grow look around the city is slowly trying to get rid small business but we are trying to help the people with foods tents and street vending.Khmer needs to have street foods in Long Beach California
Great food and service
The beef skewers were so yummy!
It was kind of dead in here, but the food was good, and everyone was nice. Huge selection if you like variety and Cambodina food, definitely a place to check out.
Hands down the best Cambodian food I’ve had. The food was very authentic. I will definitely be a regular there now.
Tried the green papaya salad, lemongrass soup with shrimp, spring rolls, and beef noodle.
The lemongrass soup was flavorful and went really well with rice; it was the table favorite. The beef noodle had a sweet rich broth and plenty of noodles; it was great. The green papaya salad was crunchy and well dressed; it was pretty phenomenal. The spring rolls were good with the sauce.
Highly recommended. Looking forward to another visit.
Came on a Saturday evening, wasn’t busy but service was still slow. The young lady that took our order was quiet but rude in her mannerisms. She rolled her eyes when we had to flag her down to give her our order. We ordered the papaya salad, spring rolls, and student noodles. It took a long while before papaya salad came out, then the noodles came out well after we finished the papaya salad then the spring rolls showed up. Asked her about the spring rolls when the noodles came out and her only answer was “yes” and walked away. The papaya salad was good. The flavor of the noodles were good but the meat was sparse, too tough to chew and flavorless. Not worth the price. The servers in general weren’t very attentive. The few tables there including ours needed water but they never bothered to come by and refill our glasses or give water to the group that was seated before us. The seating area seemed well kept and clean but their only bathroom was dirty.
Excellent Khmer food and good service!
For some odd reason every time I’m in Long Beach, I tend to search for a Cambodian spot. 1. Its very uncommon anywhere else in L.A 2. Always down to try new food from different cultures! Cambodian cuisine offers a melting pot of Thai, Lao, Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian spices clearly, through the agricultural and spice trade.
This is probably the fourth Cambodian restaurant I’ve visited in Long Beach. The vibe and décor are very cultural and cute. It’s a small restaurant with 3 booths, 8 top in the middle and 12 top on the other side. The service was very friendly, the walk to the restroom was interesting because I got to see the kitchen which was filled with aunties and uncles, seemed like a family business for sure!
Come during lunch because the specials are worth it!
Ordered
#17 Khmer BBQ Pork with rice 5/5 – BBQ had a nice glaze to it, paired well with pickled veggies and spicy sauce
#24 Mint Leaf Chicken with rice 5/5 – Similar to Thai basil chicken but instead they used mint and even topped it with an egg!
#27 Student Noodle 5/5 -Enjoyed how these were served with thin noodles, the flavor was delish (similar to pad thai)
The parking lot is small, I was lucky to have found a spot! Give them a try!
Driver for dropping the food for customers by the house anywhere
Great food!!
Really good Khmer food!
Straightforward service and dishes came out in a timely manner. They give a lot of rice so you'll be guaranteed to be full. Got the Asian Catfish with Mango sauce, Steamed Chicken, Khmer Vegetable hotpot, and shaken beef. Highly recommend this spot
One of my favorite restaurants in Long Beach. This place has delicious food, a variety of options and great customer service. I would highly recommend it to anyone!
Soooo good! I had the Khmer noodle (pictured), my partner had the mint leaf chicken. Both were great but the Khmer noodle was stellar! The chicken also came with an amazing bone broth soup. Nice chill vibe (even the background music), cute place, fabulous service. We’ll definitely be back; see you there.

Very authentic Cambodian cuisine. It tastes just like home. This is my go to for Chicken rice, duck noodles and hotpot! 💯❤️(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤💃🤎😁😊
a babygirls favorite!
i feel like Remi from the movie Ratatouille, every bite is an explosion of flavor in my mouth
casual but cozy and the friendliest service
my favorites are; crispy pork belly, tofu bites, lemongrass soup, beef skewers
Excellent service, cozy and the food excellent!

Absolutely delicious and super fresh food!
Love khmer food, Phnom Penh noodles was very delicious.
Loved this place and the food! Need to come back to try more Cambodian dishes as I’ve never had any in my life! The gentleman at the front I didn’t get his name, young guy buzzed hair super super super nice and extremely knowledgeable on what to order. He told me to get the 3 skewered marinated steak with rice and it came with a pork bone soup. Best part is the prices too. Incredible!!!! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you !
Delicious foods and great services
Great service. Food was good.
服务差,餐点亦不喜欢
Absolutely delicious!! very fresh and tasty! Everything was perfectly spiced. Beautiful presentation
I came here three times, I think food here is good first time, so I came back again. The second time is Saturday, they are pretty busy in lunch time, I don’t want to wait 45-55 mins as the service person told me, so I left.
I came next day again, and there is a man I am not sure is the owner or other service person who was sitting on customer’s seat and pretty rude attitude told us: they were closed. I asked why did they close so early today, I got ignored. The whole thing happened is more than only language. We felt very offended. We stood there don’t know what to do, coz they still open, and it was their regular opening time. Until the previous service person showed up, he told us they decide close earlier today.
In my opinion, restaurant serve good food is important, good service is important too. I would like to pay good service with tip than bad service no tip. I like food here but not service!
We were in the area, and saw the restaurant has good review, so we decided to try. I am glad we did. The food are so delicious, so good!! It took a long time for our food. Please be patient, it definitely worth the wait. The bbq pork is very good, highly recommended. We will be back for sure. Parking is tricky, it is hard to find parking.
food was great and the customer service was terrific. the owners were really welcoming and friendly. a strange man came inside the restaurant and approached me and my friend (a typical night at long beach), and the owner (i believe) came to our rescue and made him leave. thank you from both of us; we really appreciated it :)
Never knew how delicious Cambodian food was! Similar to Thai... But more subtle.
Sooo much food. Could not finish it all!
The food is delicious and the staff is extremely friendly!
Best Cambodian restaurant in Long Beach.
We ordered the beef stew with baguette, lemongrass chicken, steamed rice, and hot tea.
Before tip it was $29. It was almost too much food for the two of us, but it was so good we ate it all.
Each dish we ordered was absolutely amazing.
The lemongrass chicken is made with sliced jalapeños and dried red chile peppers. It was pretty hot, but maybe that's because I ate all the peppers. They didn't ask about if I like spicy food, so you may want to ask for less pepper if thats not your thing.
The beef stew has meat and tendon in it. Its cooked until the tendon is very soft.
Statues and photos decorate the walls.
They also sell vacuum packs of fish and squid.
The young man who served us was nice, but he never came back to our table after he took our order until we asked for the check.
But we had everything we needed anyway.
Such a great experience eating here.
4% service charge to pay with a credit card.
Food portions are generous for the prices.
Delicious food. And clean restroom. I would come back again. My first time coming here.
I came here with my family we ordered the duck noodle soup, fish & shrimp noodle soup, brahok ktis, shrimp pleah, beef sticks, dumplings, papaya salad, the flat eggs mixed with fish and rice... everything was perfect, it tasted so great my husband, kids and I almost finished everthing. If you're looking for some real khmer food this place will hit the spot, besides that the thai tea was gooood too. I don't really leave reviews but it tasted that good lol. I will be returning soon when I'm in Long Beach.
Amazing food great service and owner was 100 spot on with his picks for our order
Great food definitely worth the trip. Everything was flavorful and unique
Everything is good here
Nice staff and really wanted to eat here.
Where's the meat? Spent 16 on a roast pork lunch and receved 7 thin slices of roast fat and crackle, plain noodles and lettuce salad. one pinkie finger sized sliced of dry pork.
bummer
Soooo good!!! Very authentic, tastes as good as the khmer food in Cambodia, if not, better.
Good food
The owner and his wife excellent host and service the food is authentic and delicious.
While driving around the local area our usual stop is Phnom Penh Noodle Shack, we found this spot and decided to check it out. Phnom Penh was super packed and we didn't want to wait.
Monorom had one table occupied when we came in. We were greeted by a young man who welcomed us with a cheerful attitude.
Offered us a choice of their specialty drinks. My wife got their Cambodian style ice coffee, kiddo got Thai iced tea, and I got their fresh coconut 🥥 water.
For starters we got their spring rolls which came with shrimp 🍤 and their homemade fish sauce.
My wife ordered their red curry noodles which had chicken, kiddo ordered their Phad Thai, and I ordered their Duck Noodle soup with large rice noodles.🍜
Everything was delicious and I thought their broth for the duck noodle soup tasted even better than Phnom Penh's bone broth 🤫😝
Our server suggested their Chinese donuts which usually pairs well with soups or congee. Sure enough said suggestion was a great one, for their donuts had a better quality in texture and taste than the other popular competitive restaurant.
We may be coming back here for Cambodian cuisine.
Place was clean, organized, and service was excellent.
So if you're in the mood for some awesome Cambodian cuisine, stop by and please check out their menu and order up some food!
We will definitely will be back to sample more items on the menu 👍
Food was good. Exactly what I was expecting when visiting Cambodia Town. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I was expecting Thai chilies in my food. Everything had jalapeños in it and it threw us all off.
Great Khmer food here, recommend this place.
A gem!!! Amazingly great family owned and operated Cambodian restaurants with unique hot sauces and flavor. Service was amazing and they even asked if we wanted condiments like the hot sauces to go. Super friendly and super welcoming. Dishes were tasty! We got the lemongrass Curry and the red beef soup pictured in the menu and both were fantastic. Definitely coming back for more food whenever we're in the area.
Good food and service 😉
absolutely delicious and very friendly service!!! the depth of flavors and the freshness of the ingredients were outstanding. highly recommend.
So many flavors! The portions were perfect, not too much and not too little. Great price and nice staff. Small intimate seating, don’t let the parking lot fool you, the food speaks for itself
Don't let the parking lot fool you, this place is AMAZING! The food is so flavorful and the portion sizes are perfect! Also very affordable. They have the best fried rice I have ever had.
First time, great food and friendly staff! Will definitely go back and try more from the menu!
Awesome spot, delicious food, great prices
Excellent customer service and the food was delicious...much love from Connecticut!
First time trying Cambodian cuisine and I was pleasantly impressed
Great service. Haven't tried everything on the menu, but most items we've tried are pretty good, especially the grilled pork w/ savoring garlic sauce. It's yummy! Why not 5-stars for the place? Because it's a bit pricey.
We keep coming back. This is really good food! Try the beef skewers. I love their version of pad see ew as well. Service is friendly and the restaurant is calm and inviting.
the food was fantastic, the menu clear and extensive, and the staff polite and attentive. almost entirely southeast Asian families and groups when we were there, which is a great sign. again, the food was spectacular (and cheap, and plentiful!) I had Khmer vegetable soup with pork rib, and a Cambodian Angkor beer to wash it down
Food was good service could be better tho
Recommend, I enjoyed every dish I've tried.
Expect a really slow service when you pay your visit. We ordered only two bowls of noodle soup, and there were three other tables that were being served before we arrived. It took 35 minutes for our two bowls of noodle soup to come to our table. Totally unacceptable!
Good food. Great customer service
Adored the calamari and the chicken curry. Great Khmer food and atmosphere.
This was a nice place for dinner on a chilly Long Beach night. I came here with a friend after failing to find an open Pho spot in the neighborhood. We stumbled upon Monorom and decided on ordering 3 dishes in total: the house fried rice w/chicken, the beef stew noodle, and the shaken beef. My personal favorite was the shaken beef, i liked the sweet and savory flavor and tenderness of the meat. The house fried rice was also a nice dish paired along with the chili sauce which was a little on the spicier side but great flavor. My friend really enjoyed the beef stew rice noodle dish; I enjoyed the rice noodles but expected the dish to be spicier than it was sweet. Still, the stew was full of flavor without excessive saltiness. The proportions were fair for the price; I may be a bit biased because I am used to large servings. (Please note that the pictures included were taken after we had several bites of the dishes).
First time to try cambodian cuisine. Great food, fast service!
Delicious food and always great service.
I would not go there.
Love this family owned restaurant! I always try to come here when I'm in the area. Everything is so flavorful and fresh here.
My must order dish is the prahok ktiss but I also love the lemongrass chicken with rice and Cambodian salad.
We also ordered the farmer soup with beef last time but I didn't love the cut of meat they used in the soup. Next time I think I'll go with fish instead!
We really liked the decor and all the nice touches, including the photos of Angkor Wat & the aluminum rice bucket. The service was quite slow and did not seem attentive. I did not enjoy the flavor of the Khmer noodles - the fish was blended in so gave the dish a weird texture - but really liked the lemongrass soup.
I ordered the Cambodian Boat Noodle, and it tasted delicious. Decor here is simple and clean. Server was cool but it took awhile to get the food because it was early and it started to open.
Loved their Pad SeeEw, it's pretty big and heavy.
This place takes forever. As I write this, we been sitting here for 15 minutes before they took our order and we haven't even gotten our drinks. The guy comes up to take our order and not when apologize for the wait.
No food no drink and it's been 30 minutes.
We are here with my 17 month old son and he is hungry.
Not really worth it. Go some place else that will be faster
First time trying Cambodian food. Some of the dishes are similar to Thai food. We tried the Crispy pork which was darn good and the accompanying vegetables were a perfect match with the crispy pork. The beef sticks were really good as well - the meat was so tender and tasty(not at all like the beef sate sticks at Thai Bbq) and no sauce is needed to eat them with. Chicken Pad see eew looked very similar to the Thai version but was not sweet. It was good(if you don't go into it thinking of the Thai version) Chinese broccoli and veggies were fresh and worked well in the dish. The last dish we ordered was the Mint Chicken - again similar to Thai in looks and ingredients but did not taste like Pad ka paow - nevertheless, it was good as well and placed on a bed of lettuce which actually paired very well with the Chicken. We picked up the food this time but will definitely eat there next time - it is a nice little restaurant in a strip mall. Workers/Staff were attentive and friendly. Can't wait to try more dishes !!
Excellent quality food at cheaper prices..a must try! Their crispy duck is bomb!
Very good service!! People so nice.. Food was excellent!
This was the best Khmer food I've had since being in country. Authentic, delicious dishes displayed with flair and in an appropriately Cambodian environment. The staff was friendly and helpful, the menu was extensive, and the experience was unforgettable. Their សម្លម្ជូរគ្រឿង was astounding. Overall a solid A+, would highly recommend.
Soooo good!! Especially loved the lok lak! My friend could not stop saying that this place has the best curry she’s ever had. Highly recommend
I used to live in Cambodia. This place took me back.
Delicious 😋 Cambodian food, reasonable prices.
Good food cooked the right way..
Monorom Cambodian Restaurant in Long Beach, California is a small intimate restaurant that's dishing out big flavor. They have an extensive menu that's bound to satisfy the taste buds of everyone in the family. The restaurant is located at the corner of Anaheim Street and Dawson Avenue at 2150 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90804. The shop is open 7 days a week from 9:00 am-8:30 pm. Indoor dining is still restricted but they do have outdoor dining in front of the restaurant. I visited the restaurant on two different occasions and tried two different dishes. It was delicious.
LEMONGRASS CHICKEN (BAI MONN CHA KROEUNG) KROEUNG, a Cambodian distinctive and complex spice blend paste with a strong aroma of lemongrass. Stir-fried chicken with bell pepper, jalapeno, and onion. $9.95 It was very flavorful and delicious.
PORRIDGE & BLOOD JELLY (BORBOR CHIEM JROUK) Porridge is the quintessential Cambodian breakfast dish. Prepared with whole grain rice, pork belly, pork internals and pork blood jelly. Garnished with bean sprouts, fried garlic, cilantro and scallions. $9.95 This aromatic dish will warm you tummy and leave you satisfied all day long.
They have indoor dining and mask less staff during the pandemic. Even the take out comes with a side of covid.
It's okay👍👍
Great place! If you haven’t tried Cambodian food and you don’t speak Cambodian , this is the place for you . The owners are very friendly and helpful, My wife is Cambodian and she was very happy with the food , and that says a lot! You should also try Cambodian beer!
Moronom has delicious (and reasonable!) food and great service. We ordered lemongrass chicken, bbq pork lunch, roast duck lunch, vegetable curry soup, and papaya salad. Flavors were expertly balanced with spicier options available on many dishes (which we enjoyed). We left full and with lots of leftovers! Owner Tony was gracious and accommodating making for an even better experience. Will be returning soon!
Love their Ka-Tieu
Monorom was fantastic for dinner! Their soup noodle base flavors were layered, and the portions were generous. My friend and I ordered the beef noodle soup and phnom penh noodles and both turned out wonderfully. Also treated ourselves to the water spinach / morning glory and that was great as well.
Be sure to CALL directly - the staff were super nice and the order took <15 mins to pick up from when I called.
I'm not someone who just "belly-aches" for the sake of complaining . The reviews were good, the presentations, (pics), looked so appetizing! That's why I chose this restaurant. Sadly, I was disappointed with my experience, from begining to end.... Our order arrived. 20 minutes late. Food was cold, smaller portions, than expected. The appetizer that was beautifully displayed, as a warm/hot dish, in the menu, ( beef tendon balls & crab toast), came as 4 small cold balls, & 3 imitation crab sticks, ( cut in half). Both dishes that. Included. 'Duck', were flavorful. ... However, they were almost inedible, due to the teeny. .weeny bones in them. Hopefully, this was just an off day, or certain products were. ..unavailable. With Cov-19, changing everything, I understand
When we had decided on Monorom, ordered, and finally started eating, I was amazed because I felt like I was back in Phnom Penh. For the hour that we stayed, we ordered everything we wanted (Khmer noodles, soup, bread with grilled beef, etc). I also enjoyed absolutely everything. We ordered two appetizers, and three entrées and were incredibly pleased with the taste and blown away by the affordable prices.
Don't know
SUPER friendly service!!! They’re very attentive and are quick!
Food is delicious! We enjoyed everything we ordered!
Beef sticks: Before these were even set down on our table, my tastebuds knew these would taste great from the fragrant charcoal smell! Flavor is on point. Sweet & savory.
Coconut palm sugar desserts: great price, especially for the quantity! Served warm. WAY BETTER than what we’ve had at a famous Thai dessert place. Def order if you want a light but filling dessert to share!
Papaya salad: refreshing and delicious! Not toooooo fishy. Def will order again!
The foods are really tasty
Great KHMER food and testy.
Attentive, quick service! High quality food, great flavors, and lots to choose from! Spend a little or spend a lot, either way you never leave hungry!
Delicious authentic Cambodian cuisine
The menu is quite varied, with vegetarian, seafood, beef, pork and chicken dishes of a wide variety. The lemongrass beef dish was richly flavored and spicy; the stir-fried watercress, with fish sauce and plenty of garlic, was particularly fine. The vegetarian egg roles were light and crisp, and the "student noodles" (similar to pad Thai but with a slightly different flavor) were a standout too. This is a superb restaurant, with sizable portions and absurdly low prices.
Had beef skewers, dumplings, and chow mein. Absolutely amazing.
It's ok. Very small and expensive
Food is good
A very hyper active place
