Located in Fullerton, Thai Basil is the place to go for truly authentic Thai cuisine -- freshly made-to-order bursting with fresh, bold flavors.
This is seriously a hidden gem Thai food! They have some special menu that are extremely good and I wouldn’t have known it if not for the recommendations from my server. The beef panang curry was slow cooked for 6-8 hours and I could totally feel that because the beef was so tender. The curry was thick and really yummy. The fish cake starter was also made in house. The paste texture was just like what I had in Thailand. Other dishes we had were great too, the fried rice, tom kha, etc. This is like a local, homemade place that made me feel cozy. Totally recommend!
This is officially my new go-to spot for Thai food in OC!
Their menu offers a wide variety of options, but that doesn’t mean they compromise on quality—every dish we tried was so flavorful and well-made.
My favorites were the classic Pad See Ew, the Shrimp Spring Roll, and the Tom Yum Gai soup. Each dish had bold, authentic flavors and was cooked to perfection. To top it all off, the Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect sweet ending to balance out the savory meal.
The service was also great! The staff was friendly and attentive. Another plus is the ample parking—they’re located in a spacious plaza, making it really easy to find a spot.
Disappointing Thai restaurant. Food was bland and you just taste the salt or the spiciness. Thai food is world famous for being flavorful. No real Thai would think this place is legit. Also, prices were high for very little amount of food given...look below picture and that is $35 of food, not including tip. Green curry was bland and I could make a better noodle dish at home. Go eat at other Thai places. This place is not good value for the money nor is rhe food good. Bunch of college kids rating this place and not know what real good Thai food should taste like....
Ive been a customer for over 7 years and i went in and ordered a chicken and shrimp fried rice and i got hard meat and shrimp fried rice which was not what i ordered and i also ordered a chicken satay! Long story short i asked for fish hot sauce and the little short girl in the front was VERY RUDE and JUDGEMENTAL i laid over 35 dollars for a rice and chicken and she got upset because i asked her for hot sauce she handed me the bag of foos to go and i went up to the counter to ask for one more fish saice and she spoke something in her language and her and the other lady laughed! I wont be coming back i did ask if they had a NEW OWNER and the other lady said yes i said im only asking because the ladies that were there before were very respectful and king take your money somewhere else the food is NOT THE SAME amd it is not the same “CHEF”
So we ordered through a delivery service and got the pineapple curry, ghang ka-ree and satay chicken. They sent some peanut sauce that was good. Unfortunately, we made our own rice especially since rice is not included in the meals and costs extra. The food tasted good and it was delivered piping HOT. Unfortunately we won’t order from this place again….. just too expensive.
The dishes were a hit and miss but they got a great selection for food to try. I didn’t find their noodle soup dishes authentic, which I was excited to try but the basic Thai dishes are very good, like pad Thai or the fried rice. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great.

Foods are always awesome

2nd time here. Prompt, courteous service and excellent food. I had chicken salad.
Have ordered here before and delivery was very cheap, however, I went to pick up once and the smell inside the restaurant was unbearable. It smelled like mold or something rotting, so bad the smell stayed with me after leaving.
Yummy Thai food! Nutritious and tasty!
Food is amazing and staff is super friendly.
best Thai food in OC! I'm updating this review. Besides the prices going up a bit like everywhere else. I still stand by Thai Basil as the best Thai food restaurant around. I love most of their dishes, the soups are great, I like to switch it up from time to time the sole with mango salad is on off my favorites. The ribs which are not exactly Thai food are super tasty and tender, pad see ew is a classic and great choice, from the few curries I've tried they are all great as well.
Food was delicious!! Good portions and not too pricey.
Definitely will visit again.
The fish cakes and speing rolls are perfect for on the go, quick lunch or dinner!
The food was good but the service was really! First she gave me wrong order then didn't even come back to check on us nor she came back to get the check! Service was really bad!!!!
Food is always delicious. Beef salad is the best I've ever had
The worst Tom Yum ever in 29 years of my life, just paid and left. Oh God save my belly!
Very respectable thai spot, id give it more along the lines of a 3.5-4 stars.
Thai Basil has the best Thai food ever! In addition to delicious food, the service was outstanding! Last night I brought a group of 20 people to eat, and the dinner was fantastic! I would especially like to thank Oap and Sherry for creating a beautiful and special dinner for all of us!
Excellent food, service, seating plenty. Please stop and have the best Thai food in Fullerton
The lunch special is priced adequate but the food was below average the Penang chicken was bland as it was from a box. Not homemade. Very disappointed.
It's always great. The food and the service is always just great!!!
We ordered a dish to go. We LOVE Thai Basil and have been going there for years now. So happy to be able to enjoy another meal there! Never disappoints!
👍
Really like this place, like that they are open late. Pricy these days. Got fried rice and an entree to go and it was $32.
The portions are huge and the food is delicious
Great food very nice service nice place
Terrible food. Ownership has changed. Food was very very low quality. Soup was pure corn starch. Fish was served in runny water sauce. Chicken was bad quality. Hard to eat.
The staff is friendly, the food prices are average. The food taste is below average. It was like instant food. If you've lived in Thailand even for a short time, you can't say this is a great restaurant.
They served pretty decent thai food.
The pad thai was really good, we ordered one of the soups as vegetarian and it was light and lemony. We asked for them to be level 8 and 10 spicy but it was maybe a 2 and 4. It was still good could've been more spicy. Service was great and prices are good
The yellow curry was pretty good, but wife said it had a funky after-taste. I was unimpressed with the Pad Thai and the Thai fried rice. There just wasn't much flavor and the rice was over boiled. Restaurant also had a funky smell which I noticed as I came in to pick up my food. Wouldn't come back here again I think there are better options in the area.
Quality has gone down. Pad see ew noodles were broken and too soft. Fried rice we're good but they charged extra for chilli/hot sauce.
Second time that my order is delivered incomplete when I ordered online, then they don't do anything to fix it. Very bad service. They charged my CC for food they didn't delivered it and they insisted they added into the bag, but the bag was closed with the receipt indicating the missing item so they should not try to blame the delivery company. This is very bad.
This is the refund policy from blizzfull: it very clear states the restaurant take care of refunds, but they never do. So they just simple charged me for food missing when they delivered the order.
blizzfull
Any refunds will be issued through Thai Basil. Please contact them directly.
It is not true, they don't care. So good luck if it happens to you also, they will never try to fix it or adjust the charges
The food is great!
Absolutely love this place. Food is always amazing. But I've gotta say... The new guys they've hired for Waiter Staff need some help. Table service has gone down a bit. They delivered our order wrong twice.
Muy buena comida
Me encanta
Really good food .... believe them when they said hot. stay below 8 .. hot hot hot. would go back if neat by ahain.
Employees are too serious, almost rude.
I go to another Thai restaurant and they are always happy but not here.
Food is good, but don't expect a smile.
We ordered Curry fried rice, delicious 🤤 love it 😋
Good food and great service
Staff are very friendly, the staff are very helpful in assisting th customers by being very polite, the restaurant is very clean, and this restaurant has the best Thai food in California. Always I am willing to come back here for Thai food.
Best Thai food I've had in a while. There are so many options that it was difficult to decide; yet the staff was very patient and helpful. I had the salt, pepper, and garlic shrimp. My daughter had the pineapple chicken dish, which was so succulent and juicy. You could taste so many flavors in 1 dish. For dessert I recommend the sticky rice mango. So sweet and perfectly ripened mangoes to take your taste buds on a magical journey. Can't wait to go back and try another wonderful dish.
Food is delicious; servers are charming and friendly. I come here often.
Small lunch portion and Thai tea overpriced
My fav thai restaurant around the area!
Had the chicken pad Thai, yellow tofu curry, beef skewers and egg rolls. We thought everything was fantastic! Only minor complaints would be the rice was priced a bit high for the quantity and I’d like more vegetables in the curry. Highly recommended!
Used to be my fav spot until new owner took over now they will not allow me to get my fav dish anymore sad I been coming here for over 12 years now I can’t even go back sad 😞 day
Great food, cute staff
EXCEPTIONAL as always . . . I always order more than I can eat at the restaurant so I get to enjoy really tasty Thai food for several days after . . . The food really is that good . . . The service is also exceptional - your food starts being served very soon after ordering. FYI - the Tom Kah Gai (chicken in coconut milk soup - you choose how spicy) is the best I have ever had . . . Please try them for yourself
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. It’s amazing. Amazing food, and the staff is so lovely here. One of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been too.
Food was tasty, Served hot and fresh. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful.
Delicious and great friendly service
curries are a must try
great vegetarian menu
Love Thai Basil and eat here one or twice a month. It’s great that you can adjust the spice levels to get a hotter version and their spice level ten is actually spice level 10!!
I usually get the same things, Penang curry (rich and sweet and savory), spicy chicken salad with that super light dressing, spicy noodle pad kee mao (much better than their other noodles in my opinion) and the pompano whole fish with the sauce is also delicious. I’ve tried a few of their other dishes but these are the ones that hit the spot every time. Highly recommend
Authentic Thai cuisine
Delicious food, kind staff!
Honestly the BEST Thai restaurant I’ve had! I’ve tried different Thai restaurants, and not even the most expensive places can get on this level! 100% Tummy happy!!!
OMG!! SO FRIENDLY. FOOD SO GOOD. AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD!! EXCELLENTE!! 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Some of the best Thai flavors I’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend this place
Best fried rice and service I’ve ever had
Fabulous food! The best chow mein I’ve ever had! The food was wonderful and the hospitality of the owner and staff even better!!!
There was a bug in my food. While eating a curry i got i discovered a small dead cockroach. Don’t really recommend going here but you can if you want.
Love coming here! So glad we found this place! My favorite of-course is the orange chicken and the chicken pad Thai! Shrimp spring rolls are amazing with the peanut sauce!
Had dinner here. Requested to add assorted vegetables with my dish since it only came with broccoli. When I got my dinner, my dish had broccoli stems... NOT ACTUAL BROCCOLI FLORETS. AND NO VEGETABLES 🤔 ( that was disappointing)
Food was good and served at good temperature. Service lacked... Had to flag waitress down to refill my water but she kept coming by to ask if we were done when clearly we were still all eating. I felt rushed to say the least. When the bill came, I noticed there was a charge for the non existent vegetable to my dish and a 20% gratuity. It was two adults and 3 kids, no where did it say they were adding their own gratuity. Had I received great service I wouldn't have mind, but I got the opposite. So I wouldn't say my experience was the greatest, and I'd rather go to a better service restaurant.
Excellent food - nicely spiced and very fresh.
They pretty okay. I ordered Satay Chicken and chicken wonton. Chicken was fine. But chicken wonton was not that great. I expected some good filling where chicken and some veggies with it. Restaurant looks pretty neat . There is small waiting section as well I like this about the restaurant. I feel it’s pricey!!
Delicious Pad Thai. Fast friendly service. Clean restaurant
Good delicious thai food and cuisine
Thai chai was authentic taste of Thailand
Service was good, but the food was not that special and kind of expensive. I've been there twice and nothing particularly stood out..
One of my favorite Thai restaurants - always very very good
Great Thai food here!
If I could do no stars, I would. Had high hopes for this place. Ordered takeout and was surprised with what we got when we got home. We specifically said that we had peanut allergy and bean sprout allergy in our household. Food came with everything! When my wife called, they actually told us to just scrape off the peanuts and pick out the bean sprouts. OMG! If you have any allergies, don't even dare come to this place. Other dishes like the duck was so DRY! What a big disappointment. If you're reading this, go find another place to spend your money.
My food arrived very late, then they brought my wife's only and I watched her eat alone for close to 15 min until my food arrived. Will not be eating there again.
Great Thai food at a very reasonable price. Also have a vegetarian menu. I had the crying Tiger, comes with soup or salad. Good places like this are hard to find. Come before 6pm, or there will be a 20 min wait at least to get in. It's alot more food than you think. Give it a try.
I ordered the chop suey on their lunch special menu and it was great, portions are just right 👍👍 what's even better is the seafood spaghetti dish, sounds weird but it's excellent specially if you like the taste of basil and mint, it's to die for!!!
Worst wantons I ever had
Sad to say, but we ordered take out and the service was just atrocious. The people on the phone had no idea what they were doing. It took 10 mins to order 2 dishes. Then they called us back to ask what type of rice I wanted as a side for a noodle dish. And they took over 30 mins to make the order after saying it would be ready soon. Completely ruined our lunch time and sadly can't come back here if the service is this bad.
Update: they added shrimp to our vegetarian papaya salad after we confirmed 3 times to make it vegetarian with no shrimp. When we called they didn't offer to remake it or refund our money. This is ridiculous. Also the pad Kee mao was really bad, with soggy noodles and almost no flavor.
Very good food! ( I got the green curry with shrimp - which was excellent. ) Not much of a wait for a table...customer service was friendly and efficient. 😊
I would say… OK. I would recommend curry and spicy noodle. The fried rice tastes different every time.
We had heard good things about their food and reviews were good, so decided to try them out. So about a month ago we ordered a few items to go, brought food home and midmeal found chicken in our vege pad sew! We had ordered it with tofu and without fish and oyster sauce, they got that part right but that means their cook despite seeing all that added chicken to it, i.e, two proteins! We just don't understand how any cook can add chicken to a tofu dish! Even if you mix up orders somehow, adding 2 proteins to a dish should've raised a flag for the cook! That's not just a simple oversight. When we called them, they were really nice about it and offered a credit on our next order. Well last week, we decided to give them a 2nd try. This time they outdid themselves. First off we were told they will give credit for 1 dish in liu of the previous incident but then 5 min before pick up, they called to tell us that they're now under a new management (in last 1mo!) and all previous records were lost, so they can't give us any credit. Basically that they don't believe us. We said okay, that's fine, and agreed to pay full price. Brought food home to find out they got 2 out of our 4 dishes wrong!! They gave us pad thai instead of pad sew and basil tofu in place of tofu with mint and chilli sauce!! Thank God no chicken in any of of it, we don't know how. We were so disappointed we didn't even bother calling them back. That was enough of an experience. We will not be ordering from them again. We have also been telling our friends and family to be on alert if they ever order anything from them.
I’m so disappointed!! They must have a new cook or perhaps it’s their day off! The food today is actually less than 3 stars as far as taste but quality of the food brings it to average (3stars). It is NOT worth the $40+ I paid for the 3 dishes. Papaya salad-not that beautiful combination of tangy yet sweet that makes it (usually) so delicious. The Pad Se Ew doesn’t taste like any other Pad Se Ew I’ve ever had before and that’s not a good thing. Even the fried rice is meh. I actually added kosher salt - did they forget the fish sauce!! Oh my, I’m so sad 😩
I really liked this restaurant last time, but they really showed a lack of consistency this time bringing cold wontons and egg rolls to the table.
We ordered a red curry with chicken and a pineapple curry with chicken. Both had no flavor or sweetness and neither had any vegetables, only suspicous tiny pieces of dark grey, rubbery chicken (or seagull) meat. I added sugar to mine and it kinda helped, otherwise I had to plug my nose to swallow it. The pineapple curry was worse. It tasted like frothy, sour, fermented water from a septic tank with 2 rotten soggy wads of pineapple excrement floating around. Just the smell of it was eye watering and rancid. Totally unsavable and indigestible. Because the little bit we were able to get down ended up giving us both diarrhea even after I threw up all of mine about 2 hours later. Waste of money. Gross experience
Hubby and I started dinner with a yummy fresh beef salad. We quickly received our order of Kung Pao with Chicken, beef and shrimp. It was spicy but absolutely delicious! We also had an order of Mongolian beef and a chicken fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh and tasted great. We accompanied dinner with a Sapporo beer for the hubs and a Thai iced tea for me. All in we spent about $90 and that included the $12 tip. Service was great! Can't wait to return and try some Tom Kha soup and some mango sticky rice. We'll be back soon!
It was my first time ordering pad thai at this location, it was very good.
The staff was great but the food wasn’t anything special. It tasted pretty Americanized in my opinion but the prices were decent. I think there are a lot of other places in the area that have better quality food but in a pinch it’s not a bad option.
Yes, I like good and servers are very kind
One of my favorite places to eat!
Loved it!
had the larb, it was so fresh and delicious, for a great portion. thank you for the amazing meal & the staff was very kind. im not thai but it seems quite authentic- ill definitely be coming back
Favorite Thai food in Fullerton. So tasty. Had it delivered today by Uber eats and it was perfect. The pad thai with shrimp is my favorite. I love the chicken satay also. Their peanut sauce is perfection. Always order a extra cucumber salad. I also love the chicken green bean dish. Husband gets garlic chicken with a spice level of 10. Its hot and he still loves it
Been coming here for over 10 years, great food and service!
Food is great but some of waitresses are VERY RUDE AND unfriendly. Hope the owner can look into it!!!
They have the best Thai food. I highly recommend this place
Amazing Food. I at first didn't like Thai food. Now though, I love it . The buffalo wings are delicious. The meat on a stick is good . It's superb actually. The broccoli is good too. It is breaded though which I don't really like . The spicy noodles taste kinda like chili peppers. 10/10
Food was good, waiter was funny, it smelled a little funny towards the back where the restrooms were located. After a while however, the smell went away. Definitely recommend sitting near the front if possible, but overall I would see myself going back. Plenty of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available!
eaten here multiple times, and every time has been great. food is always delicious. i personally recommend the pad see ew -- its one of my favorites.
Good food
Have been going here for many years. Food is very good and waitresses are always patient and friendly.
Pineapple curry was pretty good and it was spicier than other places so it was really good.
Customer service is terrible here. They don't care about the customers, only the profits. My brother got jungle curry which was different. It was definitely not worth it. Tried to get a refund or return it and get something different, and the only thing that it could be substituted for is yellow curry. As a tourist I was highly disappointed. Avoid this place.
Always love their food. Authentic taste and cleaner than most Thai restaurants.
Been to this place a few times and they always do a great job! I had the pad Thai the with soft tofu level 6- it was sooo fresh and taste was perfectly on point.
The most important factor for a restaurant to stay busy and get return customers is: consistency.
This place is consistent and has very nice staff too!
I love it. Of the dozen Thai places I've eaten at between San Diego and Orange County, this is my favorite!
Disappointing
Very poor quality of services and low quality of food and portions. I got sick after I ate here. Staff is not very attentive. Too price for the size of portions the poor quality of food.
I ordered for delivery, food was good but my soup was missing lemongrass, it was made with regular white mushrooms instead of straw mushrooms, my salad had egg shells in it but otherwise food was good.
I had lunch with a co-worker here today, we both ordered the Shrimp with house sauce lunch special. Just have to say that it was terrific. The serving portion was more than enough to satisfy my appetite. I'll be coming back for more.
Placed the order at 6:00pm. Waited an hour & 30 mins they cancelled the order with no explanation. If you call them they don’t pick up or you get the disconnect tone. Horrible
12/18/21- yes, talking about the doordash order. Made us wait for an hour and a half and the restaurant cancelled. How people can trust if you’re catering for an event??? Horrible!
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in all of the US. The food is delicious with fresh ingredients and made to order. I always compare Thai restaurants to Thai Basil and Thai Basil is always the winner.
Absolutely one of the best Thai food restaurants we have eaten at. Great service. Enjoy!💕
Good food nice place
Deliciosa comida les falta más amabilidad a los meseros
Good food.
We've been coming to this place for years. It's one of my favorite Thai places! Love their lunch menu, it's always consistently good!
staff is nice the food is very authentic and good ! will be back soon
This place is ALWAYS makes us happy 😊 Food is soooo good!!!
Super fresh and flavorful thai food! Makes me crave more.
