Fast fresh & prepared Thai dishes in a casual, industrial space with corrugated metal decor.
The food and service were impeccable. Some of the best Thai food I've had since my days living in Thailand. We got the crispy tofu larb, khao soi chicken (curry broth was divine), dry Tom yum noodle with tofu and a Thai iced tea that was oh-so creamy (and not too sweet!). Plenty of vegetarian options. Our server clarified dietary restrictions carefully to customize the dish for us. The portion were extremely generous for the price.
Will definitely be back again.
The green curry surpassed expectations, offering a burst of delicious flavors, and the eggplant was a standout with its perfect preparation. The white rice was just that, white rice, nothing spectacular While the Thai tea was enjoyable, a touch more sweetness could enhance the overall experience.
The restaurant captivates with its beautiful and cozy ambiance, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I see where they were going with the posters but maybe should be bigger to fit better with the overall style.
Additionally, attentive service and a diverse menu contribute to making this a memorable dining destination.
Best authentic Thai Esan food we ever had. They have the best appetizer dishes like citrus spicy Larb salad. My main go to meal is Thai boat noodle soup and Kal Soy. You can't really find Boat noodle soup and Kal Soy anywhere else. Don't forget Thai tea and mango sticky rice for dessert.
Small but amazing place for authentic Thai food! Service was excellent, fast and efficient. We were able to be seated right away, order placed within 7min, water, drinks and plates were out right away and food was out within 10min! 👌 We ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, Signature Lemon Grass Chicken, Fried Calamari and Thai Tea. All dishes were delicious and had an authentic Northern Thai flavor. The Thai Tea was some of the best tasting I've had in a long time. I highly recommend this place and we'll be back for sure!
Fantastic and flavorful thai food, loved every bite of it. To start with, we tried their hot Thai tea, it was really good, they refill it for free. Then, we ordered vegetarian Khao soi with fried tofu, it turned out to be the best Thai dish I’ve ever tried, the flavors were simply amazing. We also tried their vegetarian pad Thai and drunken noodles and loved both dishes. The food is amazing here and the staff is extremely kind, service is great. We will surely be coming back here.
It’s more than some traditional Thai place, I like them to serve BBQ food, skewers of chicken, beef, and even sticky rice. It’s good.
I like their curry salmon.
Good taste.
Due to some food restrictions of my friends, I m not able to taste any cilantro and chopped onion. So I think I miss out some real taste of Thai food.

Yummy and delicious authentic Thai food
Hands down 1 of if not thee best Thai spots in the Bay Area!! My go to is the basil chicken and pad Thai!
Great food and excellent service. Will be back.
This place is a hidden gem! After living in Thailand for years, I’m very picky about my Thai food, and let me tell you, Larb Thai delivers authentic flavor and brings the heat. We ordered the Fish Larb and Tom Yum Noodles. Both were full of flavor and very spicy, even though we ordered medium on the heat. I can’t imagine what “very spicy” would be like! This is Thai food made for Thais, not foreigners, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. อร่อยมากกกก
While you’re here, visit Roong Jing Jing, a little Thai market two doors down that’s been there for 30 years.
Excellent REAL AUTHENTIC food at very good price. The owners are warm and kind. we had a great time. We'll def go back
We, a party of 8, went there for Xmas get together dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, reasonable price, great service.
Appetizers and meals came out in all different orders. . . but everyone was delicious.
Larb chicken, drunken noodles, pad see ew, skewer appetizers, and noodle soup. We all shared and I ate (probably) more than I should have.
👍👍👍☺️
Great service. Fresh food. Short wait for a table but worth it.
Enjoyed the pad Thai and drunken noodles. Great Thai tea too!
Really good food and nice people

Love this place. Never had a bad dish here. Hope to visit again soon.
Was amazing will definitely be back,
Food was delicious!
My larb was fresh, clean and juicy. The staff are very friendly. Just be aware that I ordered my food only mildly spicy and I thought it was quite spicy. ;)
This place is magical. Definetly the best Thai food I've ever had. We ordered the Chicken Larb, Pork Noodle Soup, and Green Curry. I was a little worried about the soup as I believe they said there is blood in the broth and it was darker and thicker than most. But uh, nothing to worry about! It was sweet and had so much flavor. The meat, noodles and broccoli inside were sooo good.
Everything was awesome, glad we went there.
Top of the list for Bay Area Thai, with real, authentic flavors. Especially like the pad kee mao and larb. Good service, nice atmosphere, well priced. Great choice all around.
Stay true to the authenticity, Larb Thai is a hidden gem in a small strip mall along San Pablo. Their menu has not changed much because they don’t need to. All are very good. I do miss the specials they used to have which were incredibly Thai. Daily menu’s favorite for me are THE rice ball salad, larva, pad de ew, drunken noodle and boat noodle. Khao Soi, of course pad Thai. Although the lemongrass chicken was good too! Service was attentive. Dining area is tastefully decorated. It is my family’s perennial favorite since it was introduced to us by a professional foodie.
Lots of unique dishes here and really inexpensive. I don't really recommend the drinks and the service is slow, but still a great place.
This place is one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in the Bay Area. It is quite far from the city but it is worth a trip (you can also go to Thai grocery shopping a few doors away as well). The boat noodle and anything northeastern food are amazing!
UPDATE 2024/4/8: Added some more photos. We tried the crispy rice ball salad and it is so refreshing with herbs and lime juice! It will be another dish I need to order every time I come here.
The store is clean. Good prices and the products are fresh and tasty.
Local spot serving the absolute best Thai food you will eat. I eat here multiple times a month and the food is always consistently outstanding. It is a bit spicy so order mild if you're not sure. Great service, they are very polite and kind.
My go to spot for larb salad.
The green curry surpassed expectations, offering a burst of delicious flavors, and the eggplant was a standout with its perfect preparation. The white rice was just that, white rice, nothing spectacular While the Thai tea was enjoyable, a touch more sweetness could enhance the overall experience.

Outrageously good Thai food. Super flavorful, can be spicy if you want it, and feels very homey. Highly recommend the Khao Soi and the different larbs, all of which are super spicy fyi. Tons of vegetarian options including for the skewers and larbs, which is unique! Will definitely be back.
Overall a very good Thai restaurant
We eat here regularly and they have a few really hit dishes: fried taro, fried chicken wings, skewers, crispy rice ball salad, tom yum soup. You can't go wrong with any of those dishes. They're being authentic but I find their spice level to be way too hot. I've once asked for mild or not spicy papaya salad only for it to be, sadly, so spicy it's inedible for me. The other thing I'll ding a star is that all of their noodle soups and curries are way too sugary.
Authentic Thai with great taste and great service. Definitely a neighborhood fave
Ordered to go Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao. Pickup was quick and easy. The noodles were cooked well and came with all the right veggies. Wish the flavors were stronger though. Maybe letting the noodles sit will give time for the sauce to get soaked up more…? Even though I got drunken noodles spicy, they didn’t taste spicy to me at all. Now I wish I ate in so I could get some Thai chilies!
Great atmosphere and amazing food. I really like the drunken noodles and the lemongrass chicken. Everything I have had there is so good. Clearly quality ingredients. Really nice interior as well and the people who work there are great. Note - medium spicy is quite spicy!
My gosh the food and ambiance here are amazing. Small spot so come through as a pair or small group for the ideal immediate experience. As a spice lover - this place knows what they're doing. The Khao Soi and pumpkin curry are fabulous choices. I enjoyed the wings and also the papaya salad. Highly recommend this fabulous El Cerrito establishment.
This is our go-to place in Albany. Awesome quality and quantity and very authentic flavors of Thai cuisine. We love everything about this place.
ONE WORD... AMAZING!
Wonderful people, delicious food, and will go every day if I could.
Larb Heaven! Red Curry crazy good! Drunk noodles YES! Quality!
I recently dined at Larb Thai Food & Tapas in Albany and had their Green Curry. The dish was customizable with a choice of meat and came with broccoli, eggplant, green beans, and basil, served alongside fried egg and Jasmine rice. The portion size was good, and the meal left me feeling comfortably satisfied. The flavors of the curry were well-balanced, and the attentive service and pleasant ambiance added to the overall experience.
Very nice staff :) highly recommend the curry, fried taro, and thai arnold palmer
Great food! SPICY. Quick and friendly service 💞
My faaaavorite Thai spot out here! Love the green bean chicken!
Wow wow wow! Partner got the pad Thai and I got the kombucha curry and both were like ah… perfect.
Inside the restaurant it’s cleaned and host is really friendly and attentive. Chicken larb salad tastes tangy and refreshing. Beef stew noodle not recommended since the beef is hard to chew and only few pcs vegetables and soup base is dense and spicy. They have beer from Thailand and Lao which you can’t find it from many of the places.
Coworkers and I came here for lunch. I called first to make sure there was space. Space is on a smaller side and can be popular during lunch time. The lady was nice enough to secure us a table. That was really nice. The price equates the portion of the food so it's fair. The food is tasty and flavorful. I can taste the wok hay on my pad se ew. So yummy. It satisfied my cravings. Oh and our order came out fairly quick and it all came out together. Highly recommend the place. Must try
I paid almost $19 for a very small portion of meat mixed with some vegetables and 3 leaves of lettuce 🥬. They do not include rice or dessert. They don't even sell desserts. Very disappointed! :S
Great food! Met a former colleague here for lunch. Food was yummy! Decent price. Plentiful & filling.
Came with a party of 4, got the larb chicken, drunken noodles and papaya salad. All were delicious and medium spice level was perfect even for my old white grandma.
Having travelled extensively in Thailand, my critique of American Thai food is generally harsh. Typically they substitute sugar for pepper bc they are afraid the US customer can't handle the authentic flavors.
After years if disappointing meals that do not satisfy my craving for true Thai spice I can honestly say I found the spot: Larb for the win!
Recommendation: Order the red or green curry & ask them for "Thai Spice" - you will experience what the typical, delicious curry in Thailand tastes like. Plus it comes with a fried egg - nice touch. Upgrade to sticky rice to upgrade your enjoyment.
Warning: you may need milk or ice cream on hand. 😋
Taking off a star for pink chicken
Fantastic and flavorful thai food, loved every bite of it. To start with, we tried their hot Thai tea, it was really good, they refill it for free. Then, we ordered vegetarian Khao soi with fried tofu, it turned out to be the best Thai dish I’ve ever tried, the flavors were simply amazing. The Thai Boat Beef Noodle soup is soo good 👍
Not very authentic and very small portion size. Service is great and food is fresh but flavors are more for the Western palate despite me asking to make the food very authentically Isan or Lao. Lao style papaya salad had little to no flavor. For a westerner who hasn't been to Thailand and are accustomed to Bay Area prices this place might be a 4.2-5 star restaurant based on service and decor. Nonetheless if you are looking for authentic Thai/Lao I would advise to steer clear and head to Oakland's Vientiane cafe or champa garden.
Their heat level is really high. 99% when we choose "hot" for the spicy option, we got "mild" wether it's Mexican food or Thai food. Median will be our option for this place in the future. Good flavors, and protein cooked nicely. The fired quals was crispy and juicy. Ribeye salad was fresh and fun to eat. Papaya salad is my favor thai dish, and theirs is one of the good ones. Kabocha pumpkin curry, the salmon was very tender. Best of all, the value is unreal.
Pretty Authentic
Delicious Thai food. Have only ever ordered to go but everything was prepared well. Once a little spicy so I would stick with mild or medium unless you are feeling brave.
Convenient location for pick parking is usually available. If not you can usually find a spot along the street.
Really delicious and authentic thai
I have been wanting to try the food here for awhile and decided to meet my friend for lunch here today. I ordered the Larb prawn salad and calamari for starter. My friend ordered the red curry beef. The food was excellent!! My salad came with 6 prawns and was very refreshing. The flavors vibrant with just enough spice ( I ordered mild). The calamari was crunchy and soft, not over cooked or overly breaded! My friend's curry looked delicious and plentiful! I also ordered Thai ice tea and it was good and not overly sweet! We will definitely come back here and next time will bring my family!
This more than a neighborhood gem. This is the most authentic Thai place in the east bay.
Everything here is delicious
Incredibly good.
one of my favourite restaurants in the area. The food is delicious and service is always great. If you like spicy hot this is your place, if you don't just tell the staff and they'll adjust for you.
So good. The Khao Soi is deeelicious. Reminds me of being in Chiang Mai
My favorite Thai restaurant! The Crispy Rice Ball Salad is seriously the best. Perfectly tangy, spicy, refreshing. I get it medium spicy and it’s pretty legit hot, even for a spice lover like myself. The Pad See Ew noodles are super fresh. The soup for the Thai Boat Noodle Soup is thick and full of umami flavor. Some other favorite dishes — Pumpkin Curry with Tofu and Green Beans with Pork.
Extremely reasonably priced for such great quality food. Service was very friendly.and the waitress had great suggestions given it was our first visit. Authentic Thai cuisine. Do not miss the rice ball salad and the green curry. The chicken liver skewer was the best part of my meal.
Small spot, next to a mini thai grocer. Def worth a visit if you’re in the area. Definitely brings the heat! 🌶🔥But delicious food and the owners are nice. We had boat noodles, liver skewers, crispy rice, and ‘sup nor mai’. 🤤🤤 Thai speakers and chili lovers may be enticed by the specials and off menu items.
Stopped by to eat at the recommendation of a friend.
Had chicken curry with jasmine rice.
The curry was excellent but there wasn't much chicken.
Service was good.
May go again and give it a second opinion.
This restaurant is amazing. Cheap food but of high quality. Service is quick, almost no need to wait for the food. Authentic Thai food at great value. Couldn't complain anything.
love the family that runs this place, and while I enjoy everything here I really do have to single out the duck larb as my fav
I love this place with good Thai food. You can find your favorite dish. I am vegetarian and I have good choices. I love the food
We got takeout from here on a Friday night. I liked the uniqueness and taste of the fried taro and my girlfriend’s garlic pepper chicken was very good. However, I had really been wanting to try the larb here - ordered it medium and it didn’t have any dried chili at all. The other flavors were good but I was really disappointed with the lack of heat. I think the chef just forgot to include it.
I love their wings! And the drunken noodle is incredible. I mean, I haven’t ever had anything that wasn’t great from here.
Excellent. Try the ribeye salad! If you can handle, get it spicy. Unique experience. Be ready to sweat. If that's not your thing, you can get it mild or medium, still good
Yummy and authentic Thai food at reasonable prices!
Labor shortage like everywhere but service was still great. Appetizers are presented well and tasty. Good and tender cuts of meat at reasonable price.
Reliably the best Thai restaurant around El Cerrito. My dad is Thai, and this is his favorite spot.
Great service. Good food.
Very authentic Thai food that I have been seeking for so long.
Best thai I've found in the bay area so far,and at a really reasonable price! To go is the way to go since the portions are larger (shh, don't let them find out). Dinner curries come with rice and an egg without charging extra!
Can't recommend enough.
Delicious
I ordered two dishes to go. One of them was just fine, with almost not meat on it. I also ordered a Curry and they served me a different dish.
Very authentic and tasty Thai food. Boat noodles are to die for
Finally authentic Thai in the bay area! Great Isaan food. Isaan sausage, som tum thai, sticky rice & of course larb! Awesome can't wait to eat more dishes here :)
My favorite Thai restaurant in Bay Area. The service is amazing with delicious food. They are always kind and ready to substitute items on your order if you are vegetarian. I miss going there as I moved to San Jose but I do drive up once In a while to get get my fav Thai food. My all time favorite dish from this place is khao soi with veggies and Thai iced tea!
Really good food, definitely among the top 5 Thai I've had in the Bay Area. Best Khao Soi, very good Gai ga prao, beef salad, pad se ew. Worth the drive if you're not close to the area. We got to go, because of pandemic restrictions.
Delicious thai food! Had the boat noodle and khao soy noodle soup. Delicious!!!
Favorite Thai spot in the East Bay. The food is on point, perfectly spiced, and won't put a dent in your wallet. They offer Thai and Lao options...and some other things to cater to other palates not keen on fish sauce.
Larb Thai is our go-to Thai restaurant. The food is consistently delicious, high quality, and beautiful! The service is great- they are so accommodating for our requests to make the dishes vegan/ egg free. We love the fried spring rolls, drunken noodles, and mushroom skewers but you truly can’t go wrong.
The best authentic Thai food in the Bay Area !
Excellent Thai food, good service, very friendly people, easy take-out
The food was great, price was just right and they're super friendly.
This taste is what I was looking for...
It is like the real Thai cuisine.
Great service for take out! We got the pork hock rice dish, beef Thai boat noodles and the shrimp larb and everything was delicious.
Been here so many times, food is decent, friendly staff. :)
Fantastic Thai food, excellent service, affordable prices. This is my go-to place for eating out or take out.
Very delicious food!
My favorite Thai in El Cerrito. Green curry is ridiculously good! Nothing better than crispy fried taro balls and a nice cold beer!
One of the best Thai restaurant in the area!
Authentic, spicy, savory.
The Khao Soi is really good here. The noodles are delightfully chewy and not overcooked. It reminded me of the bouncy mouth feel of great wonton noodles in HK.
I'm excited to come back to try other dishes.
Also of note is the crushed dry shrimp and chili alongside the traditional dry chili dust.
Bright vibrant layers of flavor, only fresh ingredients, and friendly servers make this restaurant one of my new favoritess in the Bay Area. Your sense of healthy eating will thank you!
Wonderful delicious good. All the skewers are great. Rice ball salad, the pork hock dish was so rich and saviry, as was the kabocha squash.
If u don't know it's there u might miss it ...
My friend introduced me to this surprisingly good Thai restaurant. Food feels like you're in Thailand. really clean and genuine !! Highly recommended :)
They do a great job!! Monthly specials is GREAT!!
I loved everything. Must try crispy rice salad! It comes with pork or tofu. The flavors were complex and well balanced. Lemongrass, chilli, and mint were the showcase of this well spiced dish. The Pad Thai and green curry were delicious. They tasted very mild after the spicy crispy rice app. Finished on a sweet note.
My family and I traveled through both Laos and Thailand last year. We are very acquainted with the food from both of these countries thanks to our travels and cooking classes we took while visiting.
The food is the most authentic we have found in this area. It is the ONLY place I know of where you can find Beer Lao (Which is nearly the only beer you can find in Laos). My sons both love the Larb, as it was one of their favorite dishes while there. I like to get a variety of skewered meats and other things (chicken hearts are my favorite) and the my wife cant pass up duck. Your sticky rice will come in traditional Lao baskets which adds to our dining experience.
The staff is friendly and loves to answer questions. The decor reminds me of many of the street side shacks we ate at and I really love the comic book pictures in the bathroom.
Amazing food and service
The food was acceptable. Easy in and out. Not expensive
I enjoyed my dining experience here. Look forward to going again. Our son who lived in southeast Asia loves this restaurant.
Ok thai food. Portions are kind of small for lunch. Taste was just okay compared to other local thai restaurants around the area.
Excellent food.
Great the food was amazing!
One of the best humble Thai restaurants in the East Bay. Love their Pad See Ew & Drunken Noodle dishes. I also enjoy their Basil Eggplant/Rice & Tom Kha soup. Friendly & fast service. Nice ambiance in modern setting with wooden interior design. Get there early for lunch-it gets packed & their lot is small.
Excellent. I like the shrimp larb but medium was very spicy.
Great food and ambiance
