Relaxed Thai restaurant serving curries, noodles & fried rice in a sleek space with wine & beer.
It was Christmas Day and I was in search for an open Chinese restaurant in my quest to continue an ongoing tradition I've been doing for years in reflection of my love of the movie "A Christmas Story." If you know, you know.
So I digress and on this holy day, the whole Napa Valley has taken the day off, but I found this gem of a restaurant open. I'm flexible so as my Chinese restaurant substitute, I went here, had no choice.
I'd never been here, but a Thai friend once told me that if you want a glimpse of a new-to-you Thai restaurant, start with Pad Thai as it's their national dish and it'd be a good indication for the rest of the menu.
In remembering that little pearl of wisdom, that's exactly what I did, an order of Pad Thai and I was pleasantly pleased. Pad Thai isn't created equally, some are overly flavorful that it's overwhelming and others, bland as cardboard. For me at least, this one order was perfection, the midpoint between too flavorful and cardboard.
I was solo so I had the disadvantage of ordering one dish, but there were other tables that had a variety and the looked great, but in reading how others were enjoying their meal, it appeared convincing it was a hit with others.
In summary, I give these folks thumbs up and perhaps my only other observation is that they're a bit overpriced, but then again, you're Napa Valley in Calistoga where things are expectedly premiumly priced.
We stayed at the Calistoga Inn and after a long day in the valley stumbled across the street to this gem of a restaurant. We ordered the fresh roll, drunken noodle (tofu), and the green curry (tofu). We’re vegetarians and this is a common order for us when we eat Thai. The rolls were delicious. The peanut sauce left us wanting to go home and perfect a similar sauce ourselves. The medium spiced main dishes were absolutely perfect. We’ve had many a Thai dish and these were some of the best. We would give more than 5 stars if we could. Eat here if you’re wondering whether you should or shouldn’t.
This is a good food spot. The staff know that serving is more than just putting a dish in front of the customers. The Tom Yum soup was sour yet that was balanced by a mild sweetness making it a perfect choice. The heart-shaped rice was such a cute touch! The drunken noodles were tasty but not intensely spicy and the panang curry was as nutty as it should have been.
Great food, friendly service, and quiet atmosphere. I saw that several people ordered food to go; they picked it up while I was there.

I don’t know how this place has 4 stars, a few years ago I ate here and got the worst food poisoning I’ve ever experienced. I was sick for 2 weeks, I had to fly home early. It has been years and I have not touched Thai food ever since. Everyone in my family also got sick. DO NOT EAT HERE, DON’T TAKE THE RISK. All of the locals know not to eat here, apparently people get food poisoning all of the time. I am genuinely so surprised this place is still in business, I will be following up with the city to try and have it inspected, I’m sure if even a quick inspection is done they will be closed down permanently without delay. I got so beyond sick, there is no way the owners aren’t saving and serving food they know has been bad for weeks, putting peoples lives at risk to save a few dollars. I am going to have to end the review here because even years later I am starting to feel physically sick just recounting this event. There are plenty of other places to eat, eat literally anywhere else. These people should be punished criminally.
FOOD POISONING STAY AWAY
Very solid food and the staff was super friendly! If you’re in Calistoga and want some Thai, try them out!
Delicious spot for takeout or dine in! Authentic tasty Thai when you’re over the rich and expensive Calistoga food
Got the chicken green curry and Tom Yum soup. The curry was OK, but I'd say the tom Yum soup was pretty bad. It was more like a vegetable soup and was missing the lemongrass, sweet, sour, spicy flavors which - tom yum with cabbage and carrots is unusual. Lastly, who sells green curry and doesn't include rice? Really, just add some to the price and include rice, please.
Service was great and food was delish. Recommend

A great place with good food, excellent service and a minimal wait! There is nothing about this place that disappointed me!
Wow!!! This was such a pleasant surprise! We were looking for a place to eat, not too expensive, and we opted for the Thai Kitchen. Not only was the food amazing but the price was very reasonable and the service great. I had a salmon curry and it was excellent! It was so worth it!!! Try it’
Delicious pumpkin curry and polite staff. It was barely $1 difference to pay with card vs. cash (~$50 total).
Amazing place with delicious food. I recommend the Massaman dish. I love Massaman, but it comes with prawns, but they swapped it out with chicken upon my request. I've never been to that area of Calistoga before, and I loved it there. It's such an amazing town. And, an ice cream shop just one block down, which is really good too. Highly recommended. Has gluten-free options.
Absolute disappointing on every level. Even the steamed rice was bad. I live here in Calistoga and will never return.
Avocado rolls, Chicken soup and Fried Banana desserts were delicious and refreshing.
Foods is so so. Service is fine
Minus 1 star for additional charges on credit card payment. You can include the credit card charges in the price of dishes and note on the receipt that you can save some money by paying in cash. The current way of doing this makes me feel cheated.
About the food, I recommend beef. Shrimps are too salty.
Always great food and dishes.
This is the real deal. Very delicious, top shelf Thai food. They have all your favorites executed better than most Thai restaurants. Also check out their beautiful altar. Great spot.
The broth of the tom yum seafood was very sweet and barely edible. The other 3 dishes we ordered were delicious!
The restaurant feels chilly and cold, the Tom Kha soup was perfect but our Pad Se Ew noodles and the meat in them were burnt and you could taste and smell the burnt food. The lamb curry was OK, lamb was cooked well but I didn’t particularly love the seasoning.
Coming from Los Angeles, there are many excellent Thai restaurants. This was a nice little place to have a simple lunch. Not bad. Not great. Ok.
Friendly staff, nice cold ice Thai tea and ice Thai coffee.
Calistoga had 1 Thai restaurant and 1 Chinese restaurant across the street. Not bad for this small charming little town.
The food at Calistoga Thai Kitchen is absolutely delicious!!!! The service unfortunately is lacking. We were served our appetizer without plates and felt as though we were bothering them. I will return, but hope the service becomes better. I've been a server myself and understand that guests should be treated as though they are guests.
Yummy food and nice atmosphere!
Had the green curry and fresh rolls with rice. Best Thai food I have had for years.
We had a party of 25 and they took care of us amazingly fast! Food is excellent!
We had lunch which was very good. Flavors, presentation, and temperature all on point. We were there on a Sat right when they opened. They have a fairly large dining area so there was plenty of seating and as the restaurant filled, you never felt crowded. Dinner time might be more fun as the place might be filled with more locals.
They do Thai food right here. Very nice people, high quality authentic Thai and great prices.
I really liked the som tam with sticky rice and also tried larb kai
This is amazing place. Great food, one of the best Thai we had in recent times. There was just one server but to my surprise she managed all tables to perfectly. We never felt any delays or any impact of just one server and 7+ tables.
We loved this place !!
Food is awesome but there were a lot of flies in the dining area. Granted it is July and it is to be somewhat expected, but still, flies are never a good thing to be buzzing around your food when dining. We do enjoy this restaurant every time we visit Calistoga.
We had the Pad Thai and potstickers and they were both very good. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I want to.go back and try more items off of their very extensive menu.
Really good food, definitely will go again
Everything was amazing! Never thought a place in Calistoga would have auch wonderful Thai food. 5 stars…Tom kha soup was best I’ve ever had
Fresh excellent Thsi food. Great for vegan and non-vegan customers.
Stoped in had a great soup and fried Calamari was wonderful.
One of my favorites!
love the pumpkin curry !!
Decent Thai good nothing special
There is no other Thai food in this small town, so beat it. Reasonable food and reasonable price. Not great, actually, over the years, food is getting worse (I have been to this place many times over a decade). But, what else can you find in this town. So, if you want some Thai food, and you are in calistoga, this is the place to go. The most recent meal, we ordered super dried fried calamari (not recommended); okay okay tom yam soup; drunken noodle; crab puff (which I wish it come with no shell); fried rice; and egg plants. Again, if you have another choice of Thai, please let me know, I would give it a try.
Bad food poor service!
The food is very good.
Had one of the best vegetarian Thai food :)
We enjoyed another great meal. My family eats here several times a year while visiting relatives. It has a nice family vibe 🙏🎉😄 See you soon for more pad se yew, sticky rice, fried calamari and Thai iced tea
It was a quiet time of year but great service. Food was delicious
Friendly owners, excellent food, nice spacious dining room.
Very good food.
Good food and service. A lot of veggie choices.
Outstanding food and service. Great ambiance.
Best Thai food in town! You need to check it out!
Good food and great ambience !
My friends and I got plenty of different foods from Panaang Curry to Thai BBQ Chicken but what I liked was the Thai Coffee Iced!
Best Thai food hands down!!!!
Loved it! Hit the spot. Everyone at the restaurant was Thai. Great service
Found this nice place in downtown Calistoga, with great refreshing Thai food. We had yellow curry and panang curry with tofu, both were delicious but panang curry more so. We also had basil fried rice which was just the correct spiciness with jalapenos and drunken noodles with tofu which was one of the best I've had in a while.
Very good authentic Thai food.
Nice setting and very good service. I highly recommend the Tom Kha soup and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Then go across the street to the Cafe San Marco bakeshop for a wonderful cup of black coffee and coffee ice-cream. Add the coffee ice-cream to your coffee as desired for an awesome dessert.
Thai food is one of my favorite and this restaurant delivered great food! I will definitely come visit again when I'm in the area!
Food was good, not great, but we enjoyed it. The ambiance was lacking. No music and not warm. One busy waitperson who was fast but busy with takeout. A child screaming in the back room. They have brown rice which is a plus for me.
The food wasn’t great, we got the drunken noodles the noodles were over cooked and the not very flavorful. The spring rolls were nice and crispy but again lacking flavor.
This Thai restaurant is on the main street in Calistoga. The curry, spices, and flavors were really good and delicious. It's recommended.
As a vegetarian, Thai restaurants are my typical go-to cuisine for the diverse array of options. I was reluctant to try it due to some of the low reviews but I had a great meal. Tom Kai soup was particularly excellent due to its high mushroom content and lettuce. Prices are on the higher side but I assume rent isn’t particularly cheap in this area
Red chicken curry was so yummy. It was a nice and quiet Sunday night.
Expensive. Costed an arm and the president's right pinky toe to eat here, and the worst part it tasted off and un-filling. Everything felt like a 'beginning dish', even our main course felt 'light' and not in a good way. Even after spending a large amount of money I still feel hungry. Not to mention the 'noodles' we ordered tasted bland and just bad. The tofu was good and Chai iced tea, but everything else was so...questionable and under filling.. The waiters were nice and but that is about it.
Super good pumpkin curry
Great Thai food, friendly servers, and accommodating attitudes made our visit really enjoyable.
Not sure how this restaurant isn't rated higher. One of the best Thai spots I have ever tried. Authentic, the curry is little on the spicy side, and best Thai tea around. For vegetarians the avocado rolls are delicious, and you can't go wrong with the veggie noodle soup. Don't worry about the lower rating, this restaurant is a true gem with a variety of foods for everyone's taste.
Straight fire here
Authentic Thai... Delicious. Bring your wine... No corkage fee!
Subpar food, fast service but only because it was obviously not cooked fresh. It was reheated/frozen/pre-made. Thai iced tea was good. Very bad value for the price.
I enjoy the Thom Kha and Thai Iced Tea of course.
Oof. The service was fine-ish. One of the staff was super nice-I see you and I wish you had been the main person for our table. The food though...for me, it was inedible. I've traveled the country extensively and have had the privilege to eat at some really delicious Thai restaurants. This is not one. The pad thai was absolutely awful. The pad see ew was also not good. The pot stickers were not good. It's just not good. I don't like leaving poor reviews on restaurants but this place really needs to up their food quality.
Food was exceptional. Really fresh and seafood even tasted fresh. Spring rolls are awesome!!! Restaurant needs updating
It's the only Thai place in town, but luckily it's a great one!
We very much enjoyed the food, appreciated the attentive service, liked the decorations, happily sat by the open from window, and it was no problem to get it all vegan. And the glass of red wine was generously poured and really good.
My husband does not like Thai food usually, but felt obligated to go when "everyone else" decided to rendez-vous there the other day. He liked absolutely EVERYthing that we ordered (we are vegetarians) -- except for the yellow curry. For me the curry was GREAT. And everything was so exquisitely garnished! Loved the Pad Thai,
The room at 6 pm on a Friday was pretty empty. The tables are bare -- no linens on them, but everything is super clean. The waitress very friendly and "masked" for pandemic safety. We used physical menus that have plastic on them.
We finished the meal with sticky rice and mango dessert. This was a work of ART besides excellent flavors. A guest with us (who grew up in Thailand) told us that this restaurant is "A cut above" typical Thai restaurants she's been to in the U.S.
Calamari and chicken strip with peanut sauce was the best thing we had there. Dinner entres fell a little short on quality and flavor. Not too impressed :(
Reheated food. Bland, dry and overdone. This should never have been sent out. I expected better in the Valley. I would not recommend, you can get better food at the food court in the mall.
Good vegetarian food, good service, however no outside dining only inside or carry out
My expectations were low, but the food was really good. Service was a little slow, but it was so nice to be able to sit in the restaurant, it's very large and very covid-safe.
Only eat outside on small tables, good food!!
Food good, prices on the high side, but that is Calistoga
Traditional thai food
Horrible experience. Ordered chicken yellow curry. They sold me potatoes, carrots, onions and tomatoes with a few tiny pieces of chicken in curry sauce. I liked the flavor overall and decided to give them a second chance the next day. They must be really hurting because it was even worse the second time, just vegetables with almost no chicken at all. I tried to tell them over the phone but they don’t understand. If you are looking for chicken yellow curry, expect carrots, potatoes, onions and tomatoes in curry sauce. The potatoes were raw and hard both times. Hopefully they read this and get there recipes right. Huge disappointment on a simple recipe. Just go to the grocery store and buy some veggies and a descent curry sauce...oh yea...and don’t forget the chicken...
It was OK. Perhaps when getting Thai food in Calistoga one has to temper their expectations. The flavor was good but the noodles were undercooked, or perhaps Left on the counter which dried them out and then simply reheated.
Worst place to eat. Ordered the sweet and sour pork and meat was very hard, and did not look well cooked. Only one guy attending tables, and wasn’t helpful at all. Never asked if food was ok or asked for refills were needed. I ordered lemon and sugar for my iced tea, never got them.
Really loved the pad thai chicken. Good service :)
Love this place. We go regularly. Favorites are the Pad Thai with chicken and the Vegetable Noodle Soup. Comfortable setting and friendly staff.
Very good pad thai. Would come again.
Average. NOT the same as the 5-star original up the road in Middletown ( Buddha Thai.) Hot/sour soup bland and watery, can taste or see NO galanga or lemon grass or no oil. Fresh roles are small and mostly lettece and open ended so they fall apart on you. On plus side ingredients are very fresh, and (if you prefer it like that) less sugary than most.
The worst Roast Duck Curry coupled with cold service. Will not recommend.
Super good food. Great Pho. Unique Thai atmosphere. Go here and eat. You will be happy.
Crab Rangoon was completely cold on the inside, the Chicken Pad Thai was some of the worst Pad Thai I've had (somehow half of it was cold and it had way too many carrots), and the Thai Iced Tea was sub par. Would not recommend, and I don't understand why it's so popular.
Delicioso
Delicious every time.
Family lunch after visiting the 'Old Faithful' geyser in Calistoga. Large restaurant, quick service and excellent food. Accommodated a large group of 14 or so with minimum fuss. Plenty of parking on the street outside. Great for a meal if you are visiting wineries in the area.
Good service love their soups and curry dishes
The service is very slow and not offered water upon sitting. Order takes 20min to arrive when we are just the second table at ~5:30PM.
Food is unimpressive at the best and I would consider this one of the worst Thai food I ever had.
I don't understand why this restaurant would have 4 stars but reading the reviews many 5 star reviewers have <10 total reviews which is a bit suspicious. Anyway, please avoid this restaurant if you have other options.
I do not understand why they have 4 stars.
The service is bad. So does the food.
We waited for 15min No water, nothing.
until someone approached to us and made an order
The food is bad as well.
We were hungry after a spa day but the 2 waitresses were less then happy to be there. Food was expensive at $14 each for soup & entree. The green & pumpkin curry was ok but nothing special.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Terrible experience, vacation turned out to nightmare. I got tofu stir fry and I am okay. My boyfriend had beef soup and got terrible food poison. Stay away from this place!!!
