Went to Karin Thai while we visited Auburn as the reviews by others noted they offer vegan options.

We ordered four entrees between the four of us to be able to try different items:
Pumpkin curry with veggies
Green curry with veggies
Cashew Nut with Tofu
Pad Kee Mow with Tofu

We substituted brown rice for the standard white rice.

My personal favorite was the Cashew Nut- it was one of the best I've ever had anywhere. The flavors were strong which was a delight as usually this dish is lighter in flavor and requires chili sauce (sambal) to enhance the flavor. No need here!

My son's love the pumpkin curry. Again, hard to find pumpkin curry at most Thai restaurants in the US and this was so delicious and they didn't skimp on the pumpkin.

In fact, the same was true for all of our entrees as you can see from the overflowing plates and bowls.

So glad we came to this Thai restaurant while we visited the area.

All were really good, and also came in sizeable portions. To top it off, the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Nu, the one one who served me and my friends was very accommodating despite the fact that we came in 30 minutes to their afternoon closing. He did not hurry us to dinish in fact he told us to take our time and enjoy their delicious food.

We really enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients, the avocado spring roll, pra ram with broccoli that tasted just like at home, and the pad Thai. Service was very friendly, we will come again.

The best Thai food in Auburn. Not only do they have many great tasting options for food they also have gluten free and dairy free options for most of the entrées. By far the best tasting food in the area. Super friendly staff, and food is prepared in timely matter.

Fried fish was great on my fried rice, shrimp was ok, scallops good but the squid was super rubbery. Worst squid I've had.

Otherwise very good just a bit expensive.

Our first time here. Love the space and decor of the elephants. The server was super personable shared her story of living in Thailand also super attentive - kept checking us to make sure we are doing ok. Our son wanted steak without any sauce and it was not on the menu so the chef made something special for him. It was cooked perfectly and delicious. We will definitely come back again to this little gem. Thank you for making it a great experience today!

Just went to this place for the first time and it was amazing! The customer service was friendly and the food was very good. We had the pad Thai and pad see ew, both dishes were amazing. Portions are decent and good to split with someone too. Definitely a great Thai spot in Auburn!

Average quality, slow service, a bit overpriced, and small portions compared to other Thai places.

They are always super quick and extremely friendly! I love coming here for take out - plus the Spicy Basil Fried Rice is killer!

This was my first time here, and it was certainly worth it. Me and my dad got pad Thai, and they were super good. We got to go, and they prepped it fast. Our food was waiting there when we arrived, and it was hot. I would recommend this to anyone.

Two separate occasions I have ordered from here, I asked for pad se ew and they gave me pad thai. Second time we specified at the counter and they still gave us pad thai. Appetizers were tasty though

We stumbled across this restaurant on our way back to San Francisco from Tahoe! Our usual burger spot in Auburn (Ikeda’s) was closed for Easter!

The food here was great! Pad Ke Mow and the Red Curry was delicious! Very friendly staff. Definitely coming back here again!

Best Thai food I have ever had. I didn’t really like Thai food before eating here, because I always thought it was too sweet. This place is flavorful, delicious and not overly sugary. We ate there 3 times within the first week of trying it…The people working there are also incredibly sweet.

Great little Thai place wedged into this strip mall near Bagel Junction and Sakura Sushi, wich I also recommend. Easy online ordering and quick pick up. Dishes are always very tasty and spice level is right on, if you ask for 2 you will get 2 and not flames shooting out of your mouth. Can't go wrong with Pad Thai. I like their crispy noodles which has a curry sauce that is so good. Their avocado fresh rolls are also a favirite with peanut sauce that has a slight zing to it. Plenty of parking around and near I-80, so can get off freeway, eat and go about your way.

Crying Tiger (Ribeye steak marinated with Thai herbs and served with a spicy Thai dipping sauce and sticky rice) So much flavor. So many other dishes I will need to try in the future.

This was my first time coming here since the name change and I will definitely be back. We loved the Panang curry (my personal favorite Thai dish, and theirs is excellent), the crab fried rice, and the Pad Kee Mow (aka drunken noodles). The online ordering on their website worked great. Everything was ready on time and everything was hot and fresh.

Ignore the one star review for them not answering their phone. What kind of jerk leaves a 1 star review for that? Ridiculous. Anyway, I highly recommend Karin and will be back frequently.

My wife and I ate lunch at Karin Thai today for the first time and were very impressed. It's a small hole in the wall restaurant in a strip mall and from the outside appearance you'd probably drive by and not give it another thought. That would be a mistake and a bad decision on your part if your looking for really good Thai food. The decor inside is simple, but the food is complex, rich, and full of flavor. The menu is diverse offering many of your typical Thai dishes, but then surprises you with items like rib eye steak, Thai Pork Spare Ribs, Spicy Chili Catfish, and Salmon Red Curry to mention a few. Most of the menu items have a vegetarian option.

Service was excellent, and the hostess/waitress was friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the Panang Curry, and I ordered the Green Avocado Curry. Both were ordered with chicken and medium heat. Both dishes came out in a reasonable amount of time, piping hot, and freshly made. We could smell the wonderful aroma drifting off both dishes. Both dishes were beautifully plated. My Green Avocado Curry had what appeared to be a whole avocado in the dish and was loaded with chicken. My wife's Panang Curry was loaded with chicken as well. We shared both dishes, and the heat was perfect for us. Too many times I've had Thai food where the heat either overwhelmed the flavor of the dish, or the chef just plain substituted heat for flavor. Not here. Both dishes were full of flavor, and the heat accentuated what were already extremely delicious entrees.

We compare Karin Thai very favorably to Auburn Thai Garden which is our go to Thai restaurant in Auburn. However, Karin Thai has just earned it's place along side our favorite, and we look forward to trying many of the other dishes on the menu. I don't give out five star's easily, but Karin Thai earned it. We'll be back.

For those of you who dont know this used to be Star Thai. However, this is just as good if not better. If you were considering giving this a try you should. The owners are amazing and super nice there, food comes out quickly, and the flavor is amazing. And oh my God the fried bananas with ice cream 😍😍😍.
