Eclectic, ornate eatery with Asian art offering Thai classics like curries, soups & stir-fries.
Great Thai option in Aptos in a beautiful setting. Food is very delicious and well prepared, service is decent and the ambiance is different.
We tried the beef with green beans and the chicken pad Thai. Both were tasty. The fresh spring rolls are a bit larger than I like, but still very good.

Great lunch specials, beautiful interior, aromas and kitchen sounds as they prepare your lunch fresh to order. Our dishes were great. We ordered everything "authentic Thai spicy" but still not close to real Thailand spicy. It must be hard for them, people order spicy and then say it's "too spicy" so the rest of us have to pay the price and never get authentic spice levels. I did drink three cups of ice water though 🤔. Anyhow, loved it. ❤️🌶️🔥💥🙏🏻🙌🏼
This will be without a doubt one of the best decorated Thai restaurants in the area. While you walk from parking lots, you'll be greeted with lush green gardens with the sound of flowing water.
As you step inside, you'll not find a single spot where there is no decoration. Everything is there! One could decorate two or three thai restaurants with the items that are inside this location!
The food was okay, as you would expect from a standard Thai restaurant. Tom Kha was good ( a bit saltier), the fried rice was good (the beef was of good quality). Their coconut base is also a solid foundation for the curries (we tried shrimp).
Really nice eclectic place with plenty of greenery. It’s wonderful to sit outside on a nice sunny day. The food is amazingly good I had the seafood Penang which was awesome!
I was able to sit with my dog outside and enjoy a nice cold beer to start along with the complementary salad
Found the place to have very oily food, despite our request to use less oil. Also, found shrimp and chicken in the fried rice after requesting a vegan version (which they did replace immediately)
WE LOVE BANGKOK WEST! WONDERFUL PEOPLE EXCELLENT FOOD AMAZING ATMOSPHERE!!!
Yummy Thai food. Our party has a variety of tastes in hot. Hot is hot and not is totally not hot.
Magical small place with delicious food
Delicious good and great atmosphere
HORRIBLE! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. This was once a wonderful restaurant and staff. Used to be my favorite restaurant EVER, it’s horrible now, rude staff and horrible food. I don’t know what happened, even the sign outside looks sad and tattered.
First time eating at this restaurant while visiting a friend in this area. We were seated fairly quickly. Once the waitress was ready to take our order, she was curt and seemed bothered when we had questions about the menu. She didn’t offer us water or ask if we wanted anything else to drink. I will say that they gave us our food quickly and it was good. However, not once did she or any other wait staff check on us, offer more water, etc. Once the waitress saw we were done, she acted pleasant and gave us our checks. I left cash tip on the table and went to the front to pay with card. The same waitress was at the register to take payment. I obviously did not add tip on the receipt since I had already left cash and she did not know I had done so. Nevertheless, she had the nerve to say “You need to leave tip”. I didn’t bother to discuss with her, given the poor service, she should be thankful I left any tip.
Consistently excellent food with friendly staff
Nice interior but food tastes like Hofer
The food I ordered was a solid B.
Beautiful place. Good was delicious!

I love that place, I'm often visiting it for the lunch! The food is delisious and perfect service!
Food was bland and super expensive. We ordered pad thai and fried rice, both were super oily and bland. The waitress was impatient and did not care to explain things clearly. Don’t let the ambience fool you, avoid this place.
So delicious!
A great Thai Restaurant! They even have George Ow Noodles!
So happy we decided to try. I would highly recommend. I think this is the best Thai food I've ever had!
Outstanding. 20/10 atmosphere it feels like you’re in Thailand
This place is on our list of go-to restaurants in Santa Cruz. It’s a very short list. Very kid friendly, just go early.

The curries are okay, the noodles dishes are excellent
Delicious food. Friendly and efficient staff. I've been eating here for more than 30 years. Always good quality.
Much better and tasty food versus previous times. I prefer the Green Curry and Basil Stir Fry dishes. Pad Thai is tasty but the noodles need improving.
Amazing all around!
Overall decent vegan options but not a lot of them (as their coconut milk is mixed with dairy, it eliminates lot of options such as Panang curry). Taste also was decent, nothing to rave about.
Not been in CA for years, use to go here weekly.
Was a pleasure to see that food service & friendlyness here as good as remembered.
Had the red curry great flavor like I get in Thailand but less (heat spice 😂) good thing.
Mom had the Pad-saw-ue good portion great looking & real noodles again like one would get in Thailand.
Thanks for a wonderful meal..!
Kup Kun Kap..!

great place!!!
always fresh and healthy....tons of yummy veggies 😋 never noisy or over packed anthe wait staff is always amazing 👏
Amazing ambiance, very delicious food and good service.
The atmosphere at this establishment is wondrous. It's a little expensive for the food. But if your looking for a nice dine in experience they have you covered. All the employees are super nice too.
Son and I had lunch there recently. Ordered first item in the lunch special section of the menu, Sweet Thai Basil with chicken. My gosh it was fantastic. The soup was excellent, soothing, coconut milk base, bursting with flavors. Then the entree, huge pile of steamed white rice with about the same amount of the vegetables and chicken. Huge portion. Every bite with a mix of veggie/chicken/rice/basil was just outrageously good. Everything came out quick, service was excellent, ambiance is great. $36 for the two of us, worth every penny. Highly recommended.
BEST RESTAURANT EVER! The interior is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is super nice. Our appetizers came out within ten mins and the entrees were out about ten mins after that. The food was so delicious and perfect level of spice. SO GOOD I’m sad I don’t live closer so I could go every single day!
Bangkok West is one of the most beautiful Thai restaurants I’ve experienced in California. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous architecture and beautiful Thai artefacts. The food they serve is also very good. They also have a great buffet that is very inexpensive. The owner is very friendly and she has a great staff who are always polite and helpful. Whenever I have the opportunity to visit this restaurant I always feel like I’m in a very special place. This restaurant is definitely a great place for delicious Thai cuisine and wonderful customer experience.
Wonderful people and food. Great parking. Been eating here for a long time.
I'm a Thai food fan and have been to many places here and abroad. Bangkok West is good, but not great. Personally, I'd liken it to fast food Thai. Pros: food is flavorful. I did like the curry flavors. The fresh spring rolls are good. Food is super fast (we placed a to go order and it was delivered in 15 minutes at 6 pm) and fairly priced.
The cons: all the veggies were super al dente and a weird mix... I do applaud them for using eggplant, baby corn, celery, raw zucchini, classic cut carrots and a few obscure veggies in the same dish. But. Weird. Also, eggplant is bitter, especially when it's undercooked.
I wanted to love it but there are better Thai restaurants in the area. Still...maybe it's my taste buds and to be fair, we ordered pineapple curry and panang curry + spring rolls so maybe other menu items are better. People seem to love it and it has been around for a LONG time so give it a try. ;) The atmosphere is nice.
Not only is this place beautiful, but the food is incredible! I was uncertain about the plum sauce for the spring rolls. But when combined with the peanut sauce, it's perfect!
I also had the salmon green curry. It had a beautiful presentation and I didn't want to stop eating it! That's why there's no pictures of the food... it's gone!
5 Star, 5 Star, 5 Star......what else can I say.
Called in order for pickup. My husband said they were kinda rude when he picked up. We ordered the pineapple rice, green curry, and pad Thai noodles. I thought the food was greasy, under cooked, and flavor less.
The place had amazing food. I especially recommend the Pad Thai and Thai Ice Tea! Additionally the West Bangkok Platter was delicious!
Ok food but $42.67 for Thom Kah Gai hotpot ($17.95 online menu) and a single serving of Panang Curry with shrimp ($14.95 online menu) and jasmine rice is too pricey. My husband did the pick up and didn’t question the price but gee whiz…
The customer service is garbage., I couldn’t even explain anything to the people working there because they kept on talking over me. I wouldn’t recommend this place not even to my worse enemy. If you can’t find another place, I would just order too go. The food is decent!
Family owned forever. Always good and always great help.
There are other Thai spots but this one never misses.
First time there, and it's really great! Will come back!
Very disappointing meal- had the combination seafood pad thai- on the "chef special" list- noodles overcooked bland with very little seafood. This surprised me as usually the food here is good.
Great people, they let us in 30 minutes before closing and served us very well!! The food is great and the people!!
Chicken curry comes with an entire dried out chicken breast and little to no curry or vegetables. We’ll never be back.
Quick and delicious place! We called several places around the area but all at least need to take 30 min for takeout on Sunday evening. This place said it takes only 15 min so we decided to give it a try. It turned out the food quality is good and not too salty (as requested). We are glad to have takeout dinner today.
Always a great place to eat, food is great, hospitality great. Once we had an issue with recipt, left message with hostess. Owner called me right way to fix the issue. Turns out gratuity is included in the bill now. So our server made good money from us that night lol. Be aware of that in case your one to just sign and leave tip which is what we usually do. Also the dessert here is finamenal.
Chicken not well cooked
We were the only costumers and our waitresses was far chatting with another one. I had to get up of my table twice to get her
Always consistent high quality, delicious food. Love this place!
Really nice eclectic place with plenty of greenery. It’s wonderful to sit outside on a nice sunny day. The food is amazingly good I had the seafood Penang which was awesome!
I was able to sit with my dog outside and enjoy a nice cold beer to start along with the complementary salad
The food is delicious and the ambience is authentic! I love Curry, and this place makes great Curry!
I have been coming to Bangkok West since I was 12 and I'm 39 now! It is the most authentic, flavorful and filled with love Thai food, this side of Thailand! I've been to Thailand several times now and this food is 100% authentic and spot on. The owner Chai and his family have been so welcoming to me and my family for years. My only sad experience at Bangkok west is went Jay, his sister moved back to Thailand, I miss her and her love of the customers that frequented the restaurant. If you want true Thai food in a very authentic Thai atmosphere, Bangkok West is your place!!!
Bomb food!
Likely the best Thai food in santa cruz. Just wear sunglasses as the decorations are gaudy and extremely ugly fake gold.
Just ok. Egg rolls good... curry too watery. Mango sweet rice was awesome though. Wait staff didn't check on us as frequently as should have and there is no call button. expensive for what got overall.
Really good Thai food and the restaurant is decorated so beautifully, great ambiance
Nice decor, clean, and food decent. Though, the service could be better. We felt rushed.
Our local goto for Thai food. Good portions, great service, and a wide variety of dishes and foods. Worth a visit.
In general I enjoy ordering from Bangkok West. The food quality is good and order time is quick. The portions (at least for takeaway orders) are a bit smaller than most other Thai restaurants. If the portions were bigger, I would give 5 stars, as the food is always good.
Best Thai in town. Love the spicy seafood soup.
Good food amazing
A favorite for 20+ years ago when Jade used to carry us around the restaurant while the parents ate. Food is consistent and very good. Part of our family's memories and tradition. Panang is my personal favorite. Go try it!
Delicious food and a great atmosphere. Great place to take kids and admire the decor. The food is made with pride and care you can taste.
Came here for dinner on a Thursday evening and was seated right away. We ordered a spring roll as an appetizer and it came to our table within minutes and was beautiful and very fresh! I ordered the green curry with a side of brown rice and my mother ordered the pad Thai. Both were absolutely delicious! The service was great, the interior decor is fabulous, and the price was wonderful too. Less than $50 for an appetizer and 2 dishes! Definitely recommend and will be coming back.
Hidden gem💎We really enjoyed our lunch. We at on the patio. Food was delicious, ask for spicy sauce . Our waitress Amp is adorable, friendly and has a big heart.
100% a must visit restaurant if you're in the area. They offer plenty of authentic Thai cuisine at a relatively cheap price. The restaurant is a bit hidden, but once you get there you feel like you've traveled straight to Thailand. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming and the quality of the food was extraordinary!
Wonderful 92 birthday party 🎉
Service was great
The food was great, the ingredients were really fresh and I enjoyed every single dish that was ordered. Their Thai tea was perfectly balance. The ambiance was great and I really appreciate the details they put into the restaurant design. I really felt like I went to Thailand which is amazing. The service was great. Our waiter was very accommodating and really nice. I appreciate the effort he put in and I definitely recommend this place. I've tried a lot of places and by far this was the best. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.
Best DESERT we’ve ever had. Sweet rice, fried banana, and bread pudding YUM. The hosts were so incredibly kind and gracious as well. Gorgeous atmosphere. A must for any Thai food lovers.
Excellent eats! The curry rice is worth the trip. The salmon was perfect, shrimp and scallops delicious. Our new go-to for Thai in Aptos
Great food
Great product and wonderful people. Highly recommend!
Good food, nice people. Some attempt to be open during plandemic but I've been turned away a few times as well and they always tell people what time they close. They should make more effort to be open for customers IMHO.
Try their fried rice. It has the delicious "wok taste", if ya fan of it.
Love Love Love this place:)) great food great people!!
Good food and very pretty restaurant.
These guys refuse to re-open their patio even though they can and they won't edit their Google listing. It says open for dining in!
Tasty Thai food, very good lunch menu. Will be back
We have been going here for close to 40 years and love it each time. It was part of our family tradition to go here before a Cantilo play and probably the part of the evening that we as kids looked forward to the most. This year we picked up takeout for Christmas and gobbled it down. We love the spicy duck, the green beans and beef, chicken satay, and the list goes on. Overall well done to the Bangkok West team everything is always tasty!
Amazing food, lunch deals are insane..i get carry out at least once a week
Staff were rude and unsupportive
Food very good to excellent. Service best described as grumpy.
Beautiful atmosphere....excellent Thai cuisine...you will love the decor and food
Absolutely fantastic! Incredibly flavorful, and great service.
Spent $30 on a bowl of soup and yellow curry noodles. The quantity was a joke for the amount of money. Yellow curry has exactly 2 shrimp, 2 pieces of calamari and few pieces of chicken. And it came with a kilo of rice noodles. This is Thai food, not high end cuisine. Should not be this expensive for this quality and quantity.
This Thai food is delicious. The ribs were very tender and had a great flavor. The curry coconut fish soup is absolutely delicious. We also had the wide noodles and the broccoli beef and they were also scrumptious. The gentleman taking are order was kind and efficient and our food was ready in a short period of time.
Calm during these uncertain times. Great food.
I. Love. This. Place. Simple as that, delicious food, great curry. Great everything, friendly service and great atmosphere
Excellent food, really nice staff, great service
Food is not good egg shells in the fried rice small selection of food as in 4 things available and we didn't get offered soda. I wouldn't spend 30 for two ever again here. So disappointed.
Beautiful ambiance great service and great people! Super friendly place and gorgeous garden in the front of the restaurant. It is quite hidden but offer plenty of parking
Literally the world's smallest servings. $17.99 for the tiniest sliver of salmon, no sides, nothing else.
Ambiance and excellent cuisine!
Expensive and bland pad thai! Two orders were 28 bucks! They use a tomato based sauce instead of tamarind. If you want authentic pad thai go to Thai Basil or Real Thai! They also gave my order to someone else by mistake so I had to wait while the person who left with my food brought it back... 😑
The worst ever Thai food, it is a typical American Thai food
Just o.k.
Excellent thai food service and setting, great egg and spring rolls, its definitely worth the small travel time outside of Santa Cruz.
Great atmosphere, food is decent.
Finest Thai Cuisine. This is known to the locals. One of the finest, consistently delicious, restaurants in Santa Cruz county. Family owned. Check out amazing pad thai, mussa man curry, or Tom Kai Gai soup that comes in a massive cauldron. You can have Thai food all over the USA, but this will be some of the best you ever have.
This place is really good for Thai. A little far from the south bay but I would I highly recommend trying at least the pineapple fried rice
Feels like you are actually in Thailand having lunch. Loved the ambience and the food. Would definitely recommend for anyone to stop by and try out their food.
Buffet of poor quality, limited choice for veg options; did offer mango and sticky rice at $7.95
Great food... Super friendly
Amazing restaurant
The soup was Devine. I tasted and was transported back to the last time I ate here years ago! Delicious!
Great little gem near the college. On par with A Taste of Thai in Reno. They would have gotten five stars, but they broke the sauce in my Green Curry.
Buffet is bomb.
Worked here as a teenager. So I am biased. But it is beautiful. The food is, the very enjoyable Thai style of food you find in this country, plus a few singular dishes. The Four Season Duck is one of these signature dishes. It makes a friendly introduction to duck for duck-virgins. Enjoy this place.
Great food, great service
Great food and presentation! The interior design and style was gorgeous, and the service was great. I'll definitely eat here again.
Kinda hidden but knows their tablets
I absolutely love the atmosphere of this place! It is so beautiful! Sadly, I think the food is just good, I wish it was outstanding but for me, it's just good. The service is not great. I think they often forget to check in on the tables. Overall, it's a really great place if you want a beautiful serene environment, decent food and to be left alone!
This place is really well decorated! It's a treat to the eye! We got seated quickly, and were asked if we wanted beverages quickly. The service was pretty good and the staff was very nice. I ordered Mango Salmon and it tasted amazing! The bathrooms were pretty clean except for one sheet of paper towel on the floor. However, I'm not giving this a 5 star rating because they didn't give us change! And no I'm not one of those people that will let a single thing ruin the experience. Although, it's still kind of a negative. Also, the gumballs were old. I just looked at the machine and one of them had a dark spot. That's kind of gross. However it's still a great place to go for dinner! Except, don't expect getting change back.
