I ordered the Shrimp Spring Rolls and Spicy noodles with beef. Definitely a hit on both aspects. I selected the Hot option for my spice option, but could have easily handled their Thai Hot option, which is their hottest option.

Lunch specials are my favorite. They have the best vegetable soup it is just amazing.
Would definitely recommend the Thai teas as well. We have tried all curries, each one of them is equally good. My favorite is chicken fried rice. The portion is enough for 2 people easily.

I go here weekly. Very lovely staff, perfect food. They have to put up with a lot of angry annoying people with racist ass attitudes. Cannot recommend this spot enough but please be nice to the people that work there.

Ordered Pad Thai through Door Dash and it was horrible. No flavor, no sauce, just tasteless.

I have tried yellow curry from many places. This place does not disappoint.

Great Thai food at this restaurant. It's always delightful when the food comes to the table steaming hot. Everyone in my party had to let their dish cool before eating. Thank goodness we ordered a couple of appetizers to start. Crispy egg rolls and fried sweet potato patties to start with our Thai tea. My only complaint, which is small, is that the tea was entirely too sweet. It was a little embarrassing to me since I recommended it to my friends as well.
We were there to meet friends and talk about destinations traveled, so we weren't in a hurry. The service staff was attentive and allowed us to have plenty of time to catch up.
One caution. There are two Thai Basil restaurants within a couple of miles of each other in Tempe. If you're meeting people there make sure everyone knows which one you're going to. (Scottsdale Rd aka Rural, or University)

My order was stolen by driver because servers at this restaurant were careless. They handled food to driver without delivery confirmation and led to the incident. Free food for driver!! Maybe I should be an Uber Eats driver to get free food 🤔🤔

Food was very mid. Overall, neither of us had much seasoning on the food. Had to drown the food in other sauces to make it taste better. When I called to check to make sure my online order went through, the person answering was very nice. Though they did hang up on me when I asked for an eta.. could have just dropped though, so I’m not blaming anyone for that!

I got the drunken noodles at the Hot level. Not spicy at all, which is fine - just not what I expected. Could have definitely gone for the Thai Hot level (may have had more flavor that way, too). It did have a nice amount of meat in it and a good mix of veggies but the noodles were SUPER overcooked, which is a big ick for me.

My friend got the combo appetizer. The Satay chicken was good, and 2 of the 3 sauces were good. However, it also lacked seasoning, and she had to drown it in the peanut sauce for flavor.

Both dishes were nice and warm when we showed up to pick them up, but we will likely never go back there again. Costs waayyy too much to be that mid ($20/dish); not expensive but just could eat something so much better for that price.

Fried rice is pretty good.

Rude server. 1 specific server was very rude and impolite. Not visiting this place again. Not sure if its some sort of discrimination as I see many people of specific culture have given this place a 1 star rating. Hate it. Because of the rude behavior I couldnt eat the food. Never had such experience.

Came to pick up uber order and the people there are prejudice and bullies. Took over 30 minutes to get order and was ignored and laughed at the entire time.

Good restaurant. Always had good food, whenever I went. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. It is not too expensive for the student budget, so can be a nice place to hang out and just sip some Thai ice tea sheltered from the blazing Arizona sun outside! I also love the all-time favorite Pad Thai.

Used to eat here almost every weekend and knew the staff quite well. However, after new ownership or new revamp, the vibes aren’t the same.

The food is great and they even untied my bag and gave me an extra spicy chili sauce for free. Much thanks and would definitely eat here again.

We have had food here before, and it was good, but the last time we ordered the service was so bad. They got our order wrong and the food was not good.. at all. We ordered the steak fried rice with no cabbage, and the rice felt like it was unevenly cooked, and the steak was extremely tough. We won't be back.

i went out there , i tried pad Thai it is ok who wants to try different foods. i was done to pay bill and the staff was very rude at me starring and asking me for tip, for the first time when he inserts the card he took out from the POS saying me cancelled but it was not. and the second time he inserted my card and i did not want to give tip he was very angry and so rude. i do not suggest this and was very disappointed.

Server was so rude at us as we did not tip him. He purposefully declined our payment and when we did not add the tip for the second time too he inserted the card in the chip reader so harshly. He was making faces at us.

Thai Basil is good. I was there with my wife and kids. We ended up getting Tom kha soup and pad Thai. I will have to say the soup is good, but I have had better. It was lacking the coconut flavor, which for me is huge and had more of the lemon grass flavor. So, it was more tart than coconutty. The pad Thai was great and very enjoyable. All in all, it was good, but not great, unfortunately!!!

There was a cute lil grandma so kind! They smiled as we waited… love it!

Atmosphere is really cozy and nice. Staff was super sweet and attentive! We got green curry, pad thai, and thai fried rice! We got level 2 spice, which i wish we got level 3 or 4 cause it wasnt as spicy as we were expecting. Everything was super yummy and flavorful. Portions were huge, im happy to take some home for later:)

We were excited to try this place but unfortunately didn’t even get our online takeout order because they said they didn’t have it. We arrived to pick it up and double checked we ordered from the right location, but the employees didn’t seem to care or even offer to make the order while we were there. They said to call the online ordering service, so we left and called the number on the receipt, and the same employee at the restaurant picked up! All they kept saying was, “We don’t have your order.” Turned out that 20 minutes later, we got a text saying the online order was confirmed even though we selected ASAP on the web site. Bad customer service, bad online ordering system.

My girlfriend and I had a disappointing experience today at Thai Basil, despite being regular customers. She ordered rice noodle soup and fresh rolls, but the soup arrived without the rice noodles, a key component of the dish. When she brought this to their attention, they simply added the noodles to the same bowl, which we found unhygienic and unsatisfactory.

Our disappointment continued when we received the bill. To express our dissatisfaction with the service, we left a smaller tip. When the manager inquired about the reason for the reduced tip, we explained the situation. Surprisingly, he responded rudely, despite it being their mistake.

Later, when we asked for a takeout container for the soup we had paid for, the manager sarcastically questioned why we wanted it if we didn't like the soup. However, as paying customers, we had every right to take our uneaten food with us. His impolite response left us feeling disrespected.

As we left, my girlfriend shared her concerns about the manager's rudeness, but he chose to ignore us and focus on other customers. This single incident has left us with no desire to return to Thai Basil.

Great place not too busy at my visit... Phad Thai awesome heat scale of 2 should have gone 3... The chai tea is tremendous I had 2... And don't forget the coconut ice cream I only had 1 of those.... love the seating but a bit tight.... friendly smiles from staff.. I will go back

Best Thai food in the valley, definitely on my top 5 list for best overall food in the valley. The curry is addicting. We are always coming back for more. And the serving sizes are huge with plenty of meat! They’ve only gotten bigger lately too, but the price is the same as it has been since 2020/2021. Personally I love their Yellow Curry. My husband likes their Massaman Curry. The staff is so nice and there is never a wait. I also love this place because of their healthy options. Lots of dairy free and gluten free dishes which is important since I have pituitary hypothyroidism. Overall you can’t do better than Thai Basil.

Tasty food! Unique interior! We ordered Crispy Calamari, Thai Fried Rice, Spicy Fried Rice, Red Curry, Thai Iced Tea, and chicken satay. The calamari was delicious and so yummy! Red Curry was very scrumptious! Fried Rices were mouthwatering! Thai Iced Tea was super tempting! The chicken satay was very flavorful! Our server Mark was very kind and delighted to serve us. He was very respectful!

I like the sticky rice with mango. It's technically a dessert but I eat it as a meal. This is such a delicious dish that I went here 3 times in the past 4 days. I didn't even want to share any with my dad because I wanted to eat all myself. He asked to try some and I went feral trying to finish eating it as fast as possible.
So voracious. Honestly, 10/10 would recommend to another person - but only for that one dish. It's going to be a famous one.

Ordered panang chicken and ginger chicken for takeout the evening of 9/7 and it was outstanding. We eat quite a bit of Thai food from different restaurants here in the the Phoenix metro area, and this order may have been the best ever.

My boyfriend and I ordered from here, it is the first time I’ve had Thai food. He had red curry and I had drunken noodles. He ordered max hot on the curry, absolutely no spice at all! He’s had better curry. I tried the drunken noodles, ordered it with medium hot, again it was no spice at all. The noodles were bland.

The owner of this restaurant is such a sweetheart. We have been coming to this restaurant since we moved to Tempe. Food was been amazing since the first time we tried it and service is always great. We got to meet the owner and she loves kids and my toddler remembered her. Today we stopped by for dinner and she sent us an appetizer (veggie rolls) which our toddler loved it. Thank you for the great food ☺️

Went there for an early dinner with a few friends. Really liked the mango red Thai curry, which was a special they had. The mango gave the dish a perfect level of sweetness that paired great with the red curry base. Also, since you can choose your protein, and I didn't taste any fish sauce in the curry, this place is vegetarian friendly. The portions were huge, too! Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend this place, especially if the mango red curry is a recurring menu item.

I LOVE Thai Basil. It’s my favorite Thai food in the valley. I could eat their green curry every day for the rest of my life. I don’t know what they put it in but I’m addicted.

I found the bamboo shoots to have a very metallic taste, clearly they are canned. The spring rolls were tasty and the red curry was good though a little overerly hot having ordered on mid level heat. The Tom Kha reheated nicely for my lunch the following day.

I've always loved Thai Basil! But this time I got druken noodles carry-out and they were... soggy, lacking noodles, and barely warm. I called and they immediately offered to remake it, SO kind of them. 2nd batch was really good! If something isn't right, just let them know and they'll help you out :)

The food quality can be improved, but considering the location as fast food alley, it is the best option for the ASU people for a quick and healthier option. When I need urgent bite, I directly head there. Thanks.

I always get the Pad See Ew or the Thai Basil dish- and whenever I’ve tried tried getting similar dishes in my hometown it was never as good as they make it here.
The service is excellent and quick, the food has never disappointed me, they are very accommodating, the decor is lovely, and I make it a point to come here every time I’m in town!

Papaya salad was huge and very delicious. Red curry was absolutely perfect, and drunken noodles were amazing. I am a very tough thai food judge, being that I worked at an authentic Thai restaurant for years!!

This afternoon i was kindly kicked out of the restaurant because my baby was crying i had a 5 year old and they told me that he was ok to stay but the baby no they should have a note on the door that says no babies aloud in the restaurant so i paid and got out of there with the my baby

We have been coming here since 2 years never had a problem with coming, as soon as I walked in the look on the waiter faces when they saw my toddler was so discriminating , as an adult in their early 30 they need to learn to not be affected by a child being loud , not only did chin ling lou waitress give us an attitude, she had the audocity to come to the table and tell me to take care of my child, when in fact we were there for less than 20 min and she didn't even make a sound until she got her food , bad service no english and RUDE SERVERS *** to the manager, get them some hospitality training they clearly couldn't understand how to give it.

Food came fast. Tast is fine. After that we all have diarrhea. Careful food properly not clean!

I ordered Thai Basil for the first time a few days ago and got it delivered. I love Thai food and have a few favorite places across the country. I was very surprised at how good their Thai eggplant stir fry was, I didn't expect it. The pad thai I got too was good, but the Thai eggplant was absolutely delicious. My room mate was fighting me to have more of it. I don't know who the cook was that night, but you popped off! I hope to order again and get the same cook. Thank you!!

Best location I have tried so far! I put in a pick up order and it was ready when I arrived about 15 minutes later. The food was still hot when I got home about 25 minutes later! I ordered pad Thai, pad see ew, spring rolls and red curry. The pad Thai is the best! I ordered it with chicken and it was delicious. The portion was so large that I only finished half of it. The pad see ew was ordered with tofu for my sister and she enjoyed it! The red curry was ordered with chicken and my boyfriend loved it. It came with white rice. The spring rolls were tasty with the sweet and sour dipping sauce.

They gave us some extra spring rolls I'm pretty sure! And lots of extra dipping sauces. That was a lovely surprise!

It's very good, My party got the right food and decent service. The building is nice and I like the padded bench seating in the back section. The medium spice level seemed more like mild to us but maybe that's because we are native Arizonans and are accustomed to spice already.

My lady and I got the complete wrong orders. Nothing was correct.

I must say that I have been meaning to write a review of this restaurant for awhile, because this place is very good. The staff are always very friendly and the food is excellent. I've been to this restaurant many times, and I've never had a bad experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for good Asian food, because this place really does knock it out of the park!

The food at this place was pretty bad. Not sure how it has such high ratings on Google. Be warned: pics of the food *look* amazing, but this is a lie. My own pics of the food look much better than they actually taste, and I won't post those pics since I don't want to lead other people astray. The food was simply no bueno. Ordered the Pad See Ew (with beef) and Spicy Eggplant (with chicken). For the Pad See Ew, the noodles were bland, and the beef was tough and somewhat gamey (had an odd aftertaste). For the Spicy Eggplant, the chicken was waaaaay overcooked and very tough, not quite as tough as chicken jerky but almost there. The eggplant and veggies were actually good, but the sauce tasted funky, like the wok they used had accumulated a bunch of random flavors from other dishes, and the random assortment of residual flavors all blended together in a bad way. The sauce just didn't taste "clean" (I know this is vague but it's the best description I can come up with). The accompanying rice was tough, dry, and overcooked (seems to be a recurring theme). I also asked for Level 5 spice (their highest), but the actual spice turned out to be disappointingly mild, barely even a hint of heat. I enjoy Thai food in general, but I'm gonna skip this place from now on. Service was great here, but the food . . . yuck!

My friend and I are visiting Tempe and we split the pad see ew, it was so scrumptious. Spice level 3 was perfect. And the people are so so kind! Loved it.

I don't know what Thai Basil did with our order. It took over two hours for Uber driver to retrieve it from them. All sauces in every dish was like water. Even the orange chicken tasted like mush breading around the chicken with no flavor. If service is going to take so long turn off the delivery orders. A huge waste of time and money.

Great Thai food...prices have nearly doubled in the last 3 years, but the quality and portions have remained the same...this is a great date night, or as my family does, a great restaurant to put in your regular rotation...

Best spring rolls ever, and it's not even close! I'm driving their now to get 3 orders of em [ate here 2 weeks ago and destroyed 3 orders]. Their curry is really good too

The atmosphere is like a cafe, the food is amazing no suggestion, but can’t go wrong with fresh rolls, I like a bit of everything. The service was friendly, I enjoyed eating here will come again.

I had a cannabis gummy before going, and I wondered if I was just enjoying the red curry so immensely simply because I was thc hopped up. Nope. Had it as a leftover next day and it was definitely that delicious.
Spring rolls top notch, coconut lemon grass soup phenomenal.
Very cool atmosphere, family owned, service super friendly and on point.
Can’t ask for better.
It’s one of our staple go to spots from now on.

Terrible billing behavior.
Every dish was 13.5 USD and they charged us 4 dollar per dish on tax, that is, 24 extra dollars for 5 dishes.
They technically robbed us.
Absolutely terrible.

An Monday Sep 12 , 12:40pm as soon as we seated, they brought soup, and in second spoon, I realized there gaint cockroach in my soup.
I felt sick immediately. I was disgusted wanted to throw up.
All they said , manager and staff members, was that they are sorry and apologize, which will not change my horrible experience with them.
