Absolutely wonderful experience here. I've only eaten at the downtown one before, but I love the atmosphere of this location now knowing what it's like. Definitely a new favorite spot for my husband and me!

The crab angels are crunchy with a nice filling, along with a flavorful sweet and slightly spicy honey? glaze. Excellent. The soup has a mildly spicy flavor with tofu, delicious. Pad prik pork is highly recommended with pork slices, peppers and lots of yummy mushrooms in a moderately spicy sauce. Lots of wonderful flavors! Highly recommended!

I love Surin 280. I eat there often. On my last visit, I decided to venture outside of my normal 5 entrées (the green curry is delicious). I decided on the garlic shrimp. They looked beautiful but tasted and felt like rubber bands. They were awful. I should have sent them back, but I hate sending food back. Everyone else loved their food. My appetizer was fabulous (pot stickers with red curry). This experience won't stop me from returning to Surin 280, but I will never order the scallops again!

Surin hasn’t been great since 2020, but especially recently. The food yesterday was dry - in fact, tasted as if it was made two days ago. That will definitely be my last visit.

I went on a weekend around I'd say 7pm. Parking was not hard to find but it was almost full. The waitress was very understanding of it being our first time there. The food was amazing and the sake hit me a bit differently since I rarely drink. It was so delicious from my sushi to the sake to the lemonade. Also the egg rolls pack so much flavor and are extremely fresh. The mext time I go I'll try something different.

CERN is overrated the atmosphere is okay the food is not fantastic but it's good it's doable drinks or not drinks

Ordered takeout of chicken fried rice and got something resembling chicken fried eggshell. Standards here have slipped.

Not sure what the sauce is on the Thai noodles but tastes like it has Kewpie mayo & maybe ketchup. The sauce was oddly creamy. Not hating it but it wasn't very authentic.

Time to get off this steady road downhill. This place was once outstanding, but not anymore.
Drinks - they have martini menu with quite a selection but drinks are weak with cheap liquor unless you request otherwise at a significant premium, mediocre at best, and most definitely overpriced.
Food - below average for almost everything I’ve tried on the menu lately. I have indulged over the years and I know how good it can be, but not the case anymore. And I’m still lost for words on how they allow a waiter to bring sticky rice to your table “uncovered”. I would assume they are aware of what sticky rice turns to immediately after the heat is gone? WOW is all I can say.
Service - the waitress was awesome, but entirely overstretched. Unacceptable wait time on a Friday afternoon.

Glory days have officially ended and so has my patronage to this place.

Eat here at your own peril. I ate there on Thursday and have had four days worth of food poisoning. Very much not worth it!

I've been eating at Surin 280 ever since it opened its doors. It's one of my favorite restaurants. I always sit at the bar because the service and people are awesome. The food is always on point and the staff are friendly! I will continue eating here as long as they are around!

Paid $40 to receive dry sushi delivered from here. I even called to remind them of the sauce and still none so I guess order from here if you like $40 dry sushi lol

We ordered the Won Ton Soup, Coconut Soup with Chicken, Curry Chicken, Thai BBQ Chicken, Crème Brûlée, Malbec wine, and Thai Tea.

The service was excellent, pleasant, helpful with ordering, and prompt.

The food was hot, delicious, and not bland. The wine was top notch and the Thai Tea was a classic treat.

My favorite restaurant and food of all time. Servers are top notch. I get the chicken fried rice, no tomato, and 3 sides of aioli sauce. The aioli is similar to a spicy yum yum sauce, and it’s INCREDIBLE. The crab angels are a must.

Food was on point... Server Justin was fast. Orders were coming out pretty quick.

Six of us were well served by Ankur. And Chris who wasn't even our server helped as well. We all enjoyed our dinner. Everything was delicious.

My waitress was terrible! I think she's Hispanic, kinda tall, she worked in the first lay out on the left side of the front door. She was trully unprofessional and rude. Her attitude was like don't want to work. I used to be a server, never go hard on someone but she didn't even meet the basic standard. I'm so sorry but have to give this bad review, hopefully the managers will see and improve things! Same area, there was a waitress, she's Asian, she didn't serve me but i could tell she is very professional, enthusiastic and very nice.

Tried our old favorite again which disappointed last time but everyone can have a bad day. This time the service was perfect! (Niwayan N was awesome).
Veggie egg rolls with plum sauce were light and crispy and delicious. My husband enjoyed a super crunch sushi roll and we had a bottle of Cabernet with our entrees. David ordered Curry Duck which he said was very tender. I ordered Spicy Eggplant Curry ( hold the chicken, extra eggplant) and it was so good!! Left overs will be another meal at home. Cream Brulee for dessert which was good but I still recommend the huge homemade Brownie Sundae. This was what we are used to at Surin 280 and are glad the last fiasco dinner was a fluke and they are back to serving delicious food with great service. Highly recommend.

I’m not one for reviews, but I couldn’t resist any longer. I’ve tried Thai food from all over the world and Surin is at such a high caliber for such an affordable price. My roommates and I consistently choose to order takeout and can each get 2 separate meals out of it. We’ll be repeat customers wherever we end up.

Love the coconut soup

I had lunch with my former coworkers at Surin 280 on Wednesday 1/24. My coworkers ordered spicy beef salad. I ordered spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls. I believe it was listed as lunch special. Right after I consumed I felt a little discomfort but within a few hours I was vomiting and then very same night severe case of food poisoning. And no I’m not competitor posting a negative review. I genuinely got sick. I should have read there reviews about sushi items from other patrons. I never post any reviews about bad service but this playing with your customers health to make few extra dollars. Just absolutely terrible experience.
Please be very careful with handling and securing raw fish items.

Ordered take out from here for the first time, and it was fast and so delicious. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great. We had the drunken rice--awesome, Thai noodke--great, and shrimp curry--yummy!! We will be visiting again soon.

Walked in with no reservation and even with them being very busy they politely seated me and both service and food were great.

Every time we go they increase the price. Now they charge for the beef. No more!

Pretty good sushi and yellow curry. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t great as compared to some I’ve had. Overall, a solid choice for evening take out but not a “must return” place for us.

Update Sept 2023:
Last three orders we have gotten here have been bad. Tonight's made me wonder if we will get food poisoning. 😬 The salmon tasted really off, was way too warm and the inside of our crunch rolls was very soggy (tempura was clearly made yesterday or later). We make our own sushi at home all the time and have taken several classes to learn how to safely. I think we just ate here for the last time and I'm unnecessarily sad about it. For $50 takeout I need the food to be consistently edible. This is the third time it hasn't been this year. I keep going back bc it used to be so amazing and tonight was the straw for us.

We love surin. The super crunch roll is awesome and so is the coconut soup. We eat here probably a dozen times a year and never have complaints. The creme brulee is pretty good too!!

Horrible service on take out orders. They treat you like a second class citizen. Absolutely gross rotten lettuce with my potstickers. Don’t eat here.

Been coming for years. Will continue to do so. Kinda just that simple. It’s wonderful. And bonus- their wine prices are WAY lower than the rest of the city.

So far I've only done carryout ordering from Surin 280, and the BEST dish I've had is the Duck Curry (Absolute MUST TRY). The inside looks nice though, and has a very 'upscale' feel to it. The bartenders were polite and helped me get my food in a timely manner.

Atmosphere felt like an old O’Charley’s. The building could use an overhaul. You could tell they don’t quite care about the details and it frankly felt dirty.

The service was good. The guy serving me at the bar was super kind. The other guy was pretty dismissive or preoccupied with something else.

The Thai Barbecue Chicken describes it being “char grilled to perfection” but it came out soggy like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while.

The dim sum was definitely not fresh. It came out lukewarm.

I’ll say, reading the other reviews I was expecting a healthy and fresh twist on Asian fusion and what I found was a washed up restaurant that has settled into mediocrity and cost cutting. They are supported, it seems, by a base clientele that comes consistently so Surin doesn’t have to hold itself to a higher standard. Just stick with the basic Asian noodle dishes and don’t expect anything fresh or unique and you’ll be fine. I had higher expectations and that was a mistake.
