My daughter didn't like the pad Thai, as it was too sour for her taste and one of the managers didn't hesitate to replace the dish with another that pleased her taste buds. She decided to get the drunken noodles with chicken. Everything was well made, and came out quick. This is not my first time here and won't be the last!

We stopped here specifically for the stuffed wings a few years ago and every time we see a show at the PAC we eat here. Everything from udon noodles, curry, vermicelli salad, pho and so much more. We haven’t had a bad dish here. And the stuffed wings and egg rolls, YUM! It’s a very busy place with take out and dine in but everyone is friendly, and they clear tables off fairly quickly. We had a small wait, but good food is worth waiting for! Highly recommend!

I was in town visiting and had lunch here with a friend. I had never tried curry before, and he suggested I try the panang curry. It was a nice combo of sweet, savory, and spicy. The stuffed chicken wing was something I hadn't experienced before, and it was delicious! I'll definitely consider stopping in again the next time I'm in the area. Good stuff!

Even the 8-year-old liked his meal. We will go again soon.

Updating my review :
The stuffed chicken wings remain as awesome as they were years ago.
But the chicken pad thai was really chewy - whether it was the noodles or the chicken. They need to ensure that the chicken are not overcooked, spoilt my experience.

Not at all having this again at Mai’s.

This is my comfort zone and I have visited this place numerous times only for one dish - Stuffed chicken wings 🐓 I have had it hot at the restaurant, packed it to have it at home and on the way to theatre in the car. This is yummy food which makes me smile. The spicy sauce is one of the best sauce I have ever tasted. The menu is short but perfect. Enjoy the egg rolls too. They are great and so are the various curries.
However, I will be going back again and again for the Stuffed chicken wings 😁

This little location is amazing. They have wonderful egg rolls, hmong sausage, pho, and many other delicious dishes. I do wish they had a larger location, but despite the small size and limited parking.... this restaurant packs a major punch and I love it. Thank you for being part of the community!

I stopped here to try the stuffed wings and I was very happy that I did. I ordered a combo which had 2 egg rolls, a stuffed wing, and a half order of fried rice.

Definitely come here more than I could imagine. I always get their combo and absolutely love the egg rolls and their stuff chicken. Like their slogan their stuff chicken is really really good.

I’ve only done take out but can’t speak highly enough about the food. Wings are a crowd pleaser but whole menu is great. I love the curries!

Do not go here 20-30 minutes before close. Closing the store takes priority over properly preparing the food. Both our pad see ew and dozen egg rolls were garbage. Pad had barely any flavor and no spice, eggrolls had hard chunks in them, not sure what they are. Flavor was not there either. $30 down the drain.

Stuffed chicken wings are a must try. Nuff said.

The spring rolls were so big and the peanut sauce was delicious. The pad see ew lacked much flavor but the noodles were good and portion sizes large.

Chicken wings are great. Never had something like that. Pho smelled great, but speceless (if that's even a word). I think it suits most American palates, but I like thai food more spicy. I've had better ones. If you like milder thai taste, Mai's definitely a good choice.

It gets busy because it's so delicious! I love coming here to eat! I never had Thai iced tea before I came here but it's so good!! Kind wonderful workers and amazing food! The Fried rice with shrimp is my go-to!

My favorite Pad See Eew in the Fox River Valley. The green curry is a second favorite if I feel like switching it up and the appetizers are delicious. A true gem of a local business

The BEST Thai food available!! One of my favorite places to eat!

I stopped in here between meetings to grab grabbed takeout. I walk in and the place is spare and tidy and chic and modern and perfect. I wanted to sit at one of their natural wood tables and splurp back a bowl of Pho while getting half of it all over my shirt and beard, but alas, I needed to get to the office.

So I stood there staring at the grid of their menu delights on the wall (see their website-via-laptop for what I mean), neatly organized by category: starters, fried rices, noodles dishes, curry dishes, pho, etc

Me: what am I gonna have? what am I gonna have? What am I gonna have?

The cheery young woman at the counter took my order:

-Egg rolls (two, as they’re ordered by the piece)
-Fresh shrimp spring rolls (also two, they’re also ordered by the piece) and they came with a thick sauce that I think was peanut based.
-Panang curry with chicken (it’s a medium spicy)
-Udon noodles with chicken

As I waited, I spotted the Iced Tea on the menu and ordered it in my second order. I wondered why I didn’t know about this style of Iced Tea sooner. Refreshing and tasty and I want to go back to get another one before I drive out of Appleton. Pic attached.

I hear the stuffed wings are a thing but it was more than I can deal with at my desk. Next time.

Go here when you’re in Appleton. Order more than you need (and then? and then? and then?). It’s all so good. The prices are reasonable.

I love Mais Deli!! It's one of my most frequented establishments. Their Rangoons are the best in the Valley! They also have the best stuffed chicken wings.

Solid place to grab a bite to eat! The menu is very inclusive for various diets. A carnivore, a vegetarian, and a pescetarian were all able to eat just fine. Even when busy the pace of the food from the kitchen flowed well.

Inside:
Clean and cozy. There are a handful of tables up front and then just a bit past the counter there is additional seating. If you're sitting at the front just be prepared for the influx of people coming and going! I would say an average of 30 heads for capacity at tables, probably more with optimal group sizes.

5-6pm rush:
It exists, which is a good thing. This place is popular and it deserves to be! We were able to grab a small table at the front after placing our order (small wait for the stuffed wings) and then we moved to the back once a table cleared out. There is probably plenty of space for most of the day but it's definitely possible for there to be a wait for seating (happened to two groups that came in behind us, who just ordered carryout instead).

Service:
Staff was friendly behind the counter and enthusiastic to help answer questions or customize orders. The kitchen staff was in a good mood and the server was attentive and friendly.

Food:
Dishes came out clean and well plated, the food looked like how it was advertised on the menu and was fresh. The stuffed wings can be piping hot when you bite in to them! The wings I had were a bit plain, but they came right off of the grill so I just gave them a splash of some sauces and they were good to go.

Location:
They are right downtown so it's easily accessible to stop in and grab a bite. Parking in front is limited, if you're the lucky one of five or six you're fine, otherwise there's parking in back / on the side when you're approaching the restaurant. It is at a pretty janky intersection, so if you're not familiar with the area I would turn in sooner to hit the side / back parking. They are on the outskirts of the eastern drag of college, but makes for a fun night of walking up towards Lawrence campus (or vice versa) when it decides to not be winter outside.

This is my absolute favorite place to eat. Their crab rangoons, spring rolls and pho are so good and that's what I tend to get almost every time. I've never had anything disappoint

Great Curry, friendly service, and unbeatable price.

While food is good, double check your order before leaving. Ordered Pad Thai medium heat. Got pad ka pao instead with zero spice and very small portion size (although lots of rice). Very disappointing when craving Pad Thai. Tried calling but either busy signal or put on hold. We were trying to branch out but back to Basils for us.

I really was sad when Pho Papa closed, and was looking for a new place for Pho. Mai's Deli has some of the best pho I have had in the US. Their broth is so full of flavor. I wish I had heard of this place sooner. The spring rolls and crab rangoons are also very good 😊

A great little place tucked in tight at the intersection of Richmond St… just enough seating to accommodate the endless flow of locals who understand you can get a great meal at a fair price. Very organized staff efficiently keeping hungry patrons smiling 😊

They seem to always forget my sauces that comes with my food. 🤷‍♂️

Ordered pickup of some beef ginger about a half hour before they closed, so when I got home I was in for a big surprise. The bowl was way less than half of what I've got in the past, and virtually no ginger to be found. This is the 2nd time in a row they have completely more than halved the normal portion.

I've tried everything on the menu and it's all fantastic. Food is consistently on point and the service is fast! 15/10 place that I highly highly recommend.

I have been dining at Mai's for years and it has been consistently stellar. Great menu, with a good array of curries and other dishes. You can get an authentic level of heat, if desired. They use plenty of herbs such as Thai basil, often not the case in American Thai restaurants. It is nice that at they offer vegetarian options like squash curry and tofu, as well. Atmosphere is simple with a spartan dining area, but it's all about the food and great service!

My dishes in the picture are Panang curry and yellow curry. Between the price, taste, and the amount you get, Mai's deli is just amazing. I've never had a bad experience, and their crab Rangoon are the best around.

For being a small restaurant, jt has a large selection. Just moved here from Phoenix, and man so far this is my favorite place to come visit. The food is frest and tasty, and they have this stuffed chicken wing. Those chicken wings with the sauces they provide are phenomenal! I tend to get the phò combo, 2 chicken wings, and spring rolls.

Worth a try. Fresh great tasting food. Will possibly be our new go to restaurant for this type of food. Parking is a bit cumbersome, especially during lunch hour but worth it.

I miss Mais. Not in Appleton much anymore. Best dish is the Curry Noodles. It's chicken and shrimp in a kinda spicy Cajun Alfredo noodles. The stuff chicken wings and egg rolls are the best to. Sometimes they are so busy they don't answer the phone. I understand and don't care. I'll always come back.

The spring rolls are super delicate and fresh…The ingredients are crunchy and savory, and the peanut dipping sauce is the perfect tangy/rich/salty/peanut-y/ soy/plum sauce ! Just delicious!

The grilled stuffed wings are incredible. Deboned, stuffed with clear rice noodles, glazed and grilled to an amazing crispness! OMG delicious!

The food and service always amazing. My go to is the curry noodle with either a couple egg rolls or crab rangoons. So much flavor in the curry noodle and you get a lot of food for the value.

Pad Thai great as always. Quite a large portion and sauce is nicely adhered / absorbed into the noodle rather than floating around in a soupy sauce liquid. Great taste, gave spicy sauce as extra when I asked if they had any.

Great food, that tastes authentic EXCEPT the spice level is dialed way back to Americana. The spring rolls are identical to what I've had in Việt Nam, and the stuffed chicken wings are their own, delightful thing. Prices are very fair. Dining area is clean, and it all works. Defo return-worthy.

Really nice place to go for stuffed chicken wings.

They prioritize to go orders, so dining in service was a bit slow. But the food was fresh and good. Pho was on the bland side, so you'll need all the condiments to add flavor.

The pad thai was very good and flavorful. Highly recommend trying it. The wings are great.

Greeted by a simple, clean well lit interior. The staff is friendly and patient for anyone coming in to place an order and ready to explain the dishes. I had the Thai Iced Tea, Spring Rolls and Pho Combo. The Thai Iced Tea is perfectly sweetened, creamy and refreshing. The Spring Rolls are crunchy and fresh. The Pho has an excellent broth which immediately hits your nose as they walk it out to you. Perfectly salted, full of flavor and filled with noodles, Hmong Sausage, Tripe, Sprouts and Basil. Would highly recommend to any seeking real Asian cuisine.

Totally delicious. Stuffed chicken wings were killer, I’ve never run into this dish before but it’s genius. Basically, they debone a chicken wing and fill it back up with egg roll stuffing. Wow. The menu is great too they have tons of combos with wings and egg rolls and rice and noodle dishes and everything. One of the culinary highlights of Appleton for sure, thanks Mai’s!

Formica table diner atmosphere. But what does one expect for the price? Excellant stuffed chicken wings. Moist and filled like an egg roll. Entre's were seasoned really good... except the chicken was tough on both our meals. Like re-heated, over cooked chicken. Would have given 5 stars had this chicken been as moist and fresh as the wings.

It's ok. Hit or miss with food.

First taste at the farmers market. 4 Stuffed wings and drunken noodle to share for 2. Order when you come in. Choose your seat and wait for food. That easy and that good.

I stopped in at 3:30 on a Monday, placed an order for 3 veggie egg rolls. After waiting a little over 10 minutes, I finally received them. I was so excited to try them, as this was my first time visiting, i immediately opened it up when i got in my car. Safe to say I'm overall disappointed. Over 10 minutes for 3 egg rolls, the egg rolls were overcooked and impossible to bite into, plus only 2 cups of sauce that were only filled a quarter of the way - I didn't even have enough sauce to soften up the shell. The flavor was definitely there but I think I'll stick to My Lee's for egg rolls from now on.

Three words: Stuffed Chicken Wings. They are incredible and will change your life.

Best stuffed wings I've had

I have driven past this place for years and never gave it a chance. Recently I went with a friend and was absolutely blown away by the food! I had to update this review, the last few times they either forget something in my order or got it wrong. Also they only give you a 1/4 cup of sauce for 6 egg rolls and take forever to answer their phone.

Decided to stop and try Mai's Deli for the first time. I had heard good things about it and thought Crab Rangoons sounded good. Walked in and got in line. Spent 20 minutes waiting and finally got up to the register. I ordered six Crab Rangoons and two Stuffed Chicken Wings. I asked about extra sweet and sour sauce. While ringing me up, the phone rang. The girl picked up the line before I could pay for my order. She took that order and walked away from the counter for several minutes, came back and filled the wings in the warmer and went back to the kitchen. When she returned she asked me to repeat my order, which I did. She then told me they were out of Stuffed Chicken Wings, despite a whole tray being in the hot case next to me. When I said I had already ordered two, she said they were "reserved." So now, after nearly a half hour, I left with only Crab Rangoons. While they tasted good and were huge portions, there was literally a spoonful of sauce in each cup, which was hardly a taste. Overall, very disappointed in the service and lack of professionalism. While I enjoy supporting small businesses, in this case, I'm not sure I'd be willing to come back. The hype was not worth the hassle!
