Warehouse-chic outpost of a local chain serving curries, noodles & stir-fries, plus sushi & sake.
I had an amazing experience at Thai Orchid! The interior is beautifully decorated with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our meal.
As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was packed with authentic flavors, and the portions were generous. We left feeling full and satisfied. If you’re in the Vancouver area and craving tasty Thai food, this is the place to go.
We had a wonderful experience at Thai Orchid. We came as a group of 4 for dinner. We were promptly greeted and sat, then immediately asked for drinks or appetizers. The atmosphere of the building is very cozy while also keeping the rustic brick and open ceiling aesthetic. We shared a few of the noodle and rice dishes and they were delicious. The dishes were warm and flavorful. Everyone also ordered sushi rolls as well. All the food came very quickly and all together. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu, and gluten free accomodations were known. We plan to come back again many times.
Great Thai Place with Sushi. Great atmosphere great food. Would recommend trying it out.
The food was great, their spicy isnt really spicy so i recommend going up a level than you normally would. Thai tea was good, not too sweet which i liked. Also actually decent quality sushi for what it is worth. Lovely atmosphere, great for dates or a nice place to sit down and eat. Try come during their happy hours and i Would definitely come back to try out more of their dishes!
Decided to stop by for a daughter mom date! First time here! I got the sake salmon roll, salmon avo roll, & the mango delight roll. Very fresh fish! I also got the fried spring rolls. The sauce is came with was a bit thin but still yummy. Servers were very friendly & communicative. Presentation of the food is gorgeous. I will definitely come back if I’m in the area again!
Had the best Thai dinner. Everything was 💣. Appetizers were amazing. Soup was 🔥. The main course was delicious. The dessert was wonderful as well. And OMG, the key lime pie martini was so yummy I had 2. We will have to go back again. I would love to try something else. 😋 😋 😍 Oh, and our server was very, very pleasant and tentative. She was on top of her stuff. Have to go back and try more.
Concerned about pick up orders. Have a decent place to get food which is great within walking distance if you live around downtown. Arrive last night to pick up my order. Of course the place was packed and that’s just expected. Was told to wait for a moment to pick up my order. A few minutes later the holsters as the couple that came right in the door what they needed now to pick up orders so she helped them. After they left I said I was next thing she said she’s busy but just stand right in front of the cashier.
As I stood there she has another gentleman what he needed he said I’m just here for a pick up order and asked what his name is. I said that’s why I’m standing here like you told me she said no problem I’ll get you right after this gentleman
After she was done another couple came in and said we need to pick up our order. She said no problem I’ll get right to it I reminded her I’m still standing here with you where are you told me. She says sir I’ll get to you as soon as I can.
Something was very suspicious about last night. I’ve eaten there several times that’s why I like coming back but maybe if Thai orchid is reading these they can at least I think about being respectful in the hosting section.
After 20 minutes or so I left because I obviously couldn’t pick up my order.
Needless to say I was disappointed and it was supposed to be our “date night “.
I have eaten at this restaurant several times and picked up food to go. Atmosphere is fine; high ceilings that are great for sound and decor is nice, not drab, not elegant. Service is great; multiple staff have come by during a single visit to remove empty dishes, ask how our food is, and ask for refills on drinks. Now, the food is very good; flavors have depth, nothing is overpowering, the food is hot, it is plated well and the serving size is fairly abundant, I often have leftovers. I have eaten at many Tai restaurants in Oregon, Washington and California, and Tai Orchid presents itself as authentic and what you would expect from a really good restaurant. My son is fairly picky and he enjoys this place every time. We have had many of their various curry dishes, and the pad thai is one of my favs. Prices are fair overall and what should be expected in the current economy. I have eaten at cheaper Tai restaurants in Vancouver, but expect quality/depth of flavor to drop. You know the saying, you get what you pay for.
Great food and customer service. It’s a really fun atmosphere aa well.
This place has the best Khoa Soi and salmon Avo Maki rolls in Vancouver. Their food is always delicious and reasonably priced.
Food and service is excellent. Additionally, huge thanks to the team and owners for their support of AAUW and their STEM fundraising efforts.
Chris was the best server I've ever had. Great food, service, and quality. Highly recommend.
Had the yellow curry. It was heaven. Can't wait to come back.
I definitely say try the Tom Yum soup. Whatever magic they put in the broth, it's full of flavor. I think we also ordered the panaang curry which was very good as well. Devon our waiter did a fine job keeping us very well taken care of without being overbearing which can be a tough balance to achieve. We sat in the bar so there was no wait for us. Made for a great date night
The food was delicious. Best yellow curry in town. The service and atmosphere was energetic and fun. Great dining experience!
Excellent Thai and even better service. They even gave utensils without us asking.
They have gluten free which is nice. The sever felt a little bothered we were there. We got pad Thai and the sauce they put it in is horrible. It made the pad Thai spongy. It was noticeable enough to not want to come back
We had great service. The food was good. I will have to come back in and be more adventurous in my decision of food.
This place is constantly improving not only the quality of food and the presentation. Packaging for Togo orders is impressive, custom utensils/napkins/containers ect makes the experience that much more premium. Go here and experience the quality sushi
We LOVE this place. All of the servers we've had were super sweet and personable. Everything looks very clean, and it's well decorated!
The tall ceilings make it easier to have a conversation when there is a full house.
The food itself is absolutely delicious. We usually split dishes. We get an hors d'oeuvre plate with an array of different foods and some GREAT dips. I'm talking, "I need to know what this is."
The calamari fantastic and also comes with great dips. Calamari fans know that calamari is either really good, or really mediocre. This is 10/10 calamari.
We also get the orange chicken, which is a HUGE plate. Again, tastes awesome.
I'd highly recommend Orcid Thai, and would recommend getting an array of different dishes and letting the table try some of all of it. ✌🏻
Easy take out. Well prepared food, packaged to stay warm on the way home.
Best thai food in Vancouver.
The coconut tofu was amazing and I need to learn the recipe now. Artful plating, and Nat was very friendly and was right on with the drinks, everything's very tasty and the menu is huge for so much quality.
Their "extra hot" spice level is a 1/10. Staff told me they don't make traditional Thai food anymore because white people don't like spicy, or oily. Time to find a new Thai spot.
First, I purchased my food online and was a little late picking up so someone called me with an attitude telling me I need to come get my food. Second, when I ordered my fried rice I always ask that it be mild. The rice i received tonight isn't even eatable because of how spicy it is. I have a pretty good idea why my order was screwed up but I'll just say that I won't be ordered from this restaurant any longer.
Grabbed Thai take out for a group of friends. Everyone ordered their favorite dishes. Our order was perfect, dishes were individually wrapped, sauces on the side. We had lettuce wraps, skewers, rice dishes and veggie wraps, all fabulous!
You could see the care taken for each order, pleasantly surprise.
Best Thai food I've ever eaten. Lil spendy but worth every pennny
Please do better with your delivery pickups and don’t bump orders before they’re ready. It penalizes the drivers and you have a sensory nightmare of a waiting area.
I went for lunch and had sushi was amazing fairly prized!!
Got tipped 20% without my consent, nobody disclosed to me. This violates consumer protection laws. Great food, I felt violated and don’t want to come here anymore.
Very busy order ahead of time.
Best Thai place downtown.
One of the best Thai eateries this side of the river. Pad Prik is very good. Tom Kha soup is great. It needs to be at least 3 stars for spice. Wife is good with that. I like spicy. 4 stars on the entree is spicy but just right for me.
#38 with no rice, broccoli or cabbage is a fab choice. Wife and I like pad see Ew. Even though she likes mild she gets it with three stars. Be careful ordering a dish with fish. They serve some with the head, tail and the whole shebang.
BUYER BEWARE: Thai Orchid is charging $22 for a Manhattan! And it's made with mid-level sweet vermouth (Noilly Prat). A Manhattan at Morton's Steakhouse off Madison Ave in MANHATTAN is only $19. My wife's Tom Collins was $16.50! I spoke with the manager who said that's what the owner is charging now. That's outrageous. The manager was sympathetic and discounted our drinks. Pre-covid Thai Orchid had some fantastic craft cocktails at appropriate prices but the great mixologists are gone and the stock has dwindled significantly but some cocktails can be made. But going forward I'll stick to the 337 cab wine which is lovely. Parking is a bit challenging. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars.
It's a great addition to Vancouver growing food scene, with medium level ethnic food. Parking is always challenging, and the portions could use some enhancements. However, I'd definitely go back.
so delicious and great service
The waiter was great. None of us was sure what to order. He was great and patient. I ordered a to go for my husband, he loved it too
We had a wonderful experience at Thai Orchid. We came as a group of 4 for dinner. We were promptly greeted and sat, then immediately asked for drinks or appetizers. Plenty of way better places. Try Pure Thai instead. This place used to be pretty good, now it’s a complete disappointment.
Hit or miss with the food. Sometimes the food tastes like the ingredients have been left out for weeks and sometimes it tastes fresh. The lack of consistency is makes it not worth it.
Also, if you order two meals to-go expect them to combine the two with zero regard for the situation and zero care. Absolutely pathetic customer service.
I will never waste my money here again.
Excellent sushi and meals, presentations are very nice. They are great all around. Not cheap but worth it.
Always great food in a pleasant environment with professional staff.
Got the Orange Chicken for takeout, was absolutely shocked when I opened the container and found most of the portion was tiny pieces of fried batter, the chicken was minuscule and tiny and there was more batter then chicken, not impressed and won’t be going back, feel like I got ripped off out of my hard earned money, they definitely didn’t earn theirs.
Love anywhere you can get good yellow curry and good sushi
The happy hour for sushi is great
I always like this place!
Always an amazing experience and their food never disappoints. I have only ordered sushi and drinks here, and I highly recommend to people looking for great drinks and quality sushi. Plus, the service is fast and they are quick with making the sushi orders to go and dine in.
Best sushi in town!
Service was absolutely awful. We asked multiple times for water or napkins they never came. It took 20 minutes to get waited on and we watch multiple other tables leave because they never got waited on. Food was acceptable. Host walked away as we were asking a question about the different hot sauces and he basically snarked and said they're all hot. I've been here many times throughout the years but I think I'm done now.
The server was very nice and attentive. The sushi and crab rangoon.
I recently ordered catering from Thai Orchid for my birthday party, and the entire experience was exceptional. Kat was incredibly helpful with the catering details, guiding us through the process with ease. We provided her with a list of potential dishes, and she responded with suggestions on serving sizes and the logistics. When we arrived, everything was perfectly packaged and ready to go with all the necessary utensils included. They even provided adorable little dipping trays for soy sauce, which was a nice touch! Although it was our first time ordering from Thai Orchid, we took a chance based on their great reviews and they didn’t disappoint.
Everyone at the party enjoyed the food and I’m already planning to return for a dine-in experience! If you’re ever in need of catering, I highly recommend checking out Thai Orchid. You won’t regret it!
I love Thai Orchid. It's my absolute favorite!!
Thai Orchid Restaurant, located near the Hilton Vancouver Washington, is a great spot for authentic Thai food. During my stay, I stopped by and was impressed with the variety of dishes on the menu, from flavorful curries to fresh stir-fries. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere had a welcoming, cozy feel. It’s also conveniently close to the hotel, making it a perfect option for a quick, delicious meal. I'd highly recommend it if you're in the area and craving some Thai cuisine!
Great Thai place. Service was a bit overwhelmed
Great service, delicious food
Used to be a 5 star spot for me. Knock off one star since it’s been a couple years. They used to have the best happy hour, but it’s been cut way back to mostly just sushi. The sushi used to be bomb bomb, but it was very rice-y this visit. Curry, pad Thai and drinks were just as delicious as always!
Beware of scamming. I picked up a to-go order and left no tip since I didn’t receive any service and left with a payment of 30 dollars. Later do I find out they tipped themselves $10 on a $30 order on my credit card. The food is alright, but this is absolutely unacceptable and quite literally criminal. I would leave zero stars if I could.
We were immediately sat after entering and was brought water and given a few minutes to order. The food had delicious flavor and was quick to arrive. My only comment to speak of is when asking about the "heat level" I was told it was a hot, true Thai seasoning. I was pleased to hear this and asked for a 4 of 5 on the scale. After a couple bites, it seemed like maybe a 2 at best from other Thai restaurants I enjoy. I did ask for the spice cart and loaded of the pepper flakes and chili sauce. I would definitely try this restaurant again, but going for a 5 spice heat is a must for me in the future. Delicious food, friendly staff.
Our waiter Lindsey was very nice . The other staff was very nice too . The food was very food
I swear. Maybe a fluke. But looks delicious. Tasted like water. We both were wondering where the seasoning went. Would come back again. To give a second chance.
Spice level 4 was no spice to us. But again. May have been a fluke..
Either way. Portions were amazing.
Our family of four + a friend dined at this establishment yesterday, and unfortunately, we experienced severe food poisoning shortly after consuming the sushi. This resulted in the entire family, including our child, experiencing vomiting and other distressing symptoms. As a result, we were compelled to seek medical attention for our youngest as he wasn't keeping fluids down.
The total bill for our meal, excluding gratuity, amounted to $150. In addition to the financial loss, we also incurred significant inconvenience, as both my spouse and I had to miss work and our children had to miss school.
We brought this matter to the attention of the manager, who initially expressed regret and promised to rectify the situation by issuing a credit. However, upon further discussion, she informed us that the owner declined to authorize any form of compensation.
The manager then suggested that we file a claim with their insurance company, implying that we lacked adequate insurance coverage. This suggestion was not only insensitive but also irrelevant, as we do have insurance.
I expressed my confusion and disappointment regarding the conflicting information provided by the manager and emphasized the distress caused by this situation. It is disheartening that your establishment handles customer grievances in such a manner, especially when the issue stems from a clear oversight on your part. Do not recommend.
I was waiting to be seated and an employee walked straight up to the two white people behind me who’d arrived after I did, greeted them, and took them to a table. So I just left.
Beautiful place. I love the reclaimed wood and bricks. The food was amazing.
Every bite was amazing. Crab puffs, hurricane roll, pineapple fried rice. OMG, so good.
BEST Thai food in Vancouver by FAR!
We love this restaurant and go there specifically for one of their sushi rolls which we can get no where else. We also frequent this restaurant sometimes multiple times a month. However over the last few months the sushi rolls are poorly made falling apart to where it's inedible. We just ordered food to go and the coconut Gaga roll we ordered was made incorrectly again and the other rolls fell apart. I typically don't complain but it's really defeating ordering over $100 worth of food every time and it being made incorrectly or extremely poorly. Hopefully the next time we go they fix the issue otherwise we won't be going back.
I Love this place great variety of Sushi and Thai dishes!
Acoustics poor, can't hear.
Best sushi
Had the best Thai dinner. Everything was 💣. Appetizers were amazing. Soup was 🔥. The main course was delicious. The dessert was wonderful as well. And OMG, the key lime pie martini was so yummy I had 2. We will have to go back again. I would love to try something else. 😋 😋 😍 Oh, and our server was very, very pleasant and tentative. Got a couple sushi rolls and crab fried rice, my girlfriend got the spicy noodles. 10/10
Big fan of this place, good food, drinks and service!
We have come here many times for sushi. It is my partner's favorite place for sushi. We ordered the Dragon roll and Vancouver Roll. I also ordered a Virgin Mai Tai which was delicious. The sushi is delicious, however I have yet to try their Thai food which I hear is just as good. The service and atmosphere was perfect as usual. It's one of our favorite date night destinations. We certainly will be back again.
I went here because of the good reviews. I ordered a noodle dish and when it came it had the smell of rancid oil. I should have sent it back, but I ate it and spent a lot of time on the toilet that evening. The sauce was gloopy and tasted like it came from a bottle. People say they have good sushi, but after that experience I would be afraid to eat raw fish there!
Love the food and the servers and the atmosphere ☺️ and the drinks, everything is gr8
This place has the best green curry.
Once upon a time I had a roommate who was born in Thailand and he would cook amazing food for dinner. We separated two years ago and I hadn’t been able to find good food like that untill we went to Thai Orchid. Absolutely delicious!!! This is my new favorite place.
A Thai place that can't customize Pad Thai sauce for a vegan to exclude fish sauce is disappointing.
Excellent customer service and food
Must try papaya salad, yellow curry
Horrible customer service. Last two times I have ordered from here, there were missing items. Not apologetic or even acted like they cared that this is the second time in a row this has happened. Really disappointing, as their food is really good.
Very cool and chill ✌️🙂👍
Great food a must try if you're near. Check them out they are good at what they do.
Nice resteraunt and good service. I got three take out items. This was the worst meal I've had in a long time. I'd rather drive 40 min each way to PDX to eat Thai food. Sorry.
So I’ve been going to this place for years really really really good food I had a bad experience with one of the waiters there and one of the managers and that got resolved and the owner. Cat is super nice. She helped me out and I made a new friend today and I appreciate her and the restaurant and I am grateful that I got to experience this today and I will definitely return.
My new favorite drink is found here, the Drunkin Thai Tea! It's basically Thai Iced Tea but with vodka, it's amazing...go get one, trust me. All of the food I've tried here has been really good, fresh, high quality stuff. The happy hour menu offers small plates for cheap and the Sushi is good.
I got the Cashew chicken curry and i cannot complain delicious! It was upbeat, staff was great, the crab puffs were amazing! Loved the atmosphere it’s friendly upbeat but could be romantic or family.
Great place all around
I love this place
I really enjoy their curry with pumpkin. The edamame is excellent. The restaurant has a great ambiance and the staff is great. If you’re craving Thai check this place out!
Sushi is excellent and always fresh, but be prepared to spend a small fortune on spicy mayo. It’s been over a month since I’ve been able to successfully order on Uber eats, they’re listed as open but cancel the order immediately. As a busy family, we don’t often get a chance to dine in. I’m sure they’re losing a lot of customers by not offering delivery. I’m now on hunt for a new sushi place that’s more reliable.
If you won’t be fulfilling orders, you should remove your business from Uber eats or limit your hours to what you’re willing to fulfill.
The last time we dined in, we were sat in the very back room. The walls were super scraped with peeling paint and chunks of sheet rock missing. You’d think with all of the prices being raised considerably over the last couple of years, they could afford to fix their walls and make the place match the level of expense they’re charging.
Wow! We will definitely be back
Thai Orchid is consistently good for Thai Food, but I think they have some of the best Sushi and drinks in town. We had the Unagi, Spicy Tuna and Salmon, Bangkok Roll and Cucumber Salad. The drink were great! We had an Asian Pear Mojito and Kentucky Ice Tea. Highly recommend!
overrated overpriced.
Food is very slow, no matter dine in, call in for a pick up or delivery, no matter weekend or weekdays.
Great place for food and fun!
pretty good green curry, fair price for the ambience
While I was walking in someone else was walking out. They held the door open for me and said welcome to the best restaurant in town. They were not wrong. I got the Crab Lagoon, Cali rolls and the orchid roll, and that orchid roll was one of the best things I've ever had. The service was top tier. We only waited about 15 mins for a table with no reservation. The decor reminded me of a local pizza joint but that's no reason to rate it less.
Always good when we go
Great place with a unique atmosphereand, food was good a prices are reasonable.
The taste of the food is just okay. However, we went there as a group of 6 and did not receive any special healing service, but we had to automatically gratitude pay 20% of the price. It was a very unpleasant dinner. This is a restaurant I never want to go to again.
We don't get downtown vancouver often, but love coming here whenever we get a chance. Fantastic food, and the staff is wonderful.
I enjoyed my dinner, staff was also nice. I ordered the mango paradise, but instead of rice I asked if they could toss it with noodles.
Poke press rolls were good, the crispy roll might have been fried a little long. The salmon and tuna were a bit over cooked which we weren't expecting, because traditionally I like the more raw rolls. But could also be their style. All in all, would recommend and will be back!
Always great overall. They don't serve alcoholic drinks on the patio after dark.
This is one of our favorite places to eat on Sundays after church. Food & service is always great. Personal favorites are the crab puffs, yellow curry, Thai tea, pad thai, & volcano roll! Would always recommend this place to friends!
Discriminatory.
This was my first visit, at the recommendation of my business counterpart. Our server took great care of us without unduly interrupting our conversation. My plate was visually appetizing, and the aroma and taste matched. I will say, speaking as a lover of spicy food, that level 4 out of 5 was at the top end of my tolerance range. Very flavorful to be sure, but plenty spicy. I will definitely be back.
Normally I like Thai Orchid but this visit they sat us in an annex room with scraped walls next to a large party. The room echoed and reverberated the noise from the loud party. I asked the host who sat us if we could move into the main dining area and he kind of rudely said this was the only table he had. Meanwhile I’m staring into the main dining area at a nice empty 4 top that we could have sat in and had a better experience.
The have started to use MSG and it keeps me awake. I won't go there again.
Beautiful sushi! The platter of spicy ahi roll, with lovely sashimi servings along with exotic flowers. What a luxury & pleasure!
Had Sushi for lunch. The food preparation was very good and the presentation was perfect. It is very flavorful and fresh.
Tried and true. My go to for the best sushi and Thai food in the Vancouver area.
Best mango sticky rice ever. Highly recommend.
Great!!
Sydney was an amazing server. So sweet and accommodating! Did you know that the pad Thai has shrimp paste??? Sydney did! It was so scrummy. My one complaint is that the restaurant was too loud for me to hear Djo playing. Will recommend to my loved ones.
Very good food and service.
Love this place and thier pad thai is my favorite. Always packed but love to go anyways.
