There was also a conflict in pricing for the bubble tea on their main menu ($6) and on the small drink menu on the table ($5), I didn't verify which was right because I ended up getting Thai tea which came in a classic bubble tea type cup and sealed lid.
We got crab ragoons, which were not on the actual menu but written on a chalk board that I saw when I first got in for 12$. Came in a small bowl with a decent portion. They were okay. Mostly wonton wrapper, not a lot of filling at all. I wouldn't get these here again.
Fresh spring rolls were good, nothing out of the ordinary and came with a pretty big serving of peanut sauce in comparison to the rolls.
For main entrees: phad Thai with 2 stars. Would not get again there, lacked a lot of flavor. Was more or less eating plain noodles it tasted like. It did come with a peanut like sauce on the side which would have just made it tasted like peanut noodles more than phad Thai. It looked like honey mustard at first. Red curry with 4 stars, not spicy at all though. A ton of vegetables, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, celery, and onions. Taste was subtle and could have definitely used a bigger heaping of red curry paste. My husband got meatball pho and he stated that it didn't really taste like much at all either. They never gave him the plate of herbs which most places do (menu does state that they do give it on the side) and he never said anything either though.
The portions were decent sized and good for the money besides the ragoons. I just wouldn't go again because of taste. I had a bit of hope because of reviews but if you're looking for really good, strong thai flavors, I would not recommend it here.
Service was good though and attentive while it was slower but when it did get busier, you did notice you had a wait a little more. Since it was mostly just two people.

HIDDEN GEM: I am excited to go back and planning on making a regular spot. Food is AMAZING. Service was great. Prices are fair! Everything is so perfect. I highly recommend you go try it out.

Gluten- free friendly!! Jenni was amazing. We are traveling for work and I have celiac, after 2 hrs and 4 other restaurants not understanding the allergies and how it would affect my health we had to move on. We stumbled across here as a last chance. In tears and full hopelessness we attempted one more place in hopes to have a sit down meal in a strange town as it was getting late and places were closing. We were greeted and when I asked about gf food she names a list and I said yes to her suggestions… couldn’t be more fantastic!! The sauce, flavors, speed, presentation and kind service is above superb. I would give 10/10 and come again hands down. LARGE portions and gut busting amounts of warm goodness!!
Only thing better than the food is the service. Felt like family, laughing and smiles. What an amazing couple.

Before I even discuss the food I have to say I haven't had such a fun interaction with a server ... maybe ever before. He was professional and attentive and all that good stuff, plus had an incredible ability to create rapport. Unforgettable -- and I'll be back just for the people. Had the vermicelli salad which was delicious healthy and beautiful; the pho was a few notches above the standard pho. The fried egg rolls were piping hot. Ask for their homemade chili sauce!!! Overall, there's an intelligence to this place -- the menu is balanced, the interior is inspired, the food is gorgeous. They should be proud of what they've created and I will be back to try more!

I ordered the pho combination. The broth wasn't bad, considering how flavorless and monotonous it was. Unexpectedly, the meat and noodles weren't it. But the freshly made spring rolls were excellent. Great atmosphere. Great service

Ordered gluten free chicken pad Thai for my son and I. Order had very little chicken and also had tofu throughout, wasn't expecting tofu. My son didn't like his and didn't finish it. He's a 15 yo boy, if he doesn't finish a meal something isn't right. Won't be returning.

Went here just for the pho, based on another reviewers experience. It was ok, broth taste watered down, little meat, not worth coming again for the pho. I never tried the thai food so maybe that's better. I was just passing through but I already have my go to pho spots back home.

Really good Thai food! I got the Pork Pad Thai and it was one of the best I’ve had in a while. We walked right in with no wait. Food was delicious and hot. I’ve had better tapioca in bubble tea, but overall an excellent visit!

Perfect for lunch, snack or dinner! Kid, vegetarian, gluten-free friendly! I ordered the sizzling eggplant with chicken and a side of vegetarian egg rolls. The food was delicious, hot and very appetizing! We will be coming back again for a family celebration at the end of July. See you guys soon again!!

The cooking techniques were there but the red curry could use way more carrots and cucumbers rather than the abundance of celery and cabbage it had. The spice was perfect
but the flavor was gone somehow. The pad thai noodles were bland flavor wise but cooked perfectly; it also needed WAY more veggies. Egg rolls were perfect and customer service. Thank you Lele! Get the Thai iced tea!

Tremendous green curry tofu.

Has been my favorite Thai place to eat since discovering about 5 years ago. I went for the prices, stayed for the quality food and prices. During covid, I couldn't catch these guys open at the same time as my travels so tried a couple other Thai restaurants. I was met with outrageous prices, terrible food or both. Finally got to go back here again and they're still just as good as ever. I think this is my first review ever, but felt necessary after my experience at other places. Highly recommend trying them if you're looking for great food that won't break the bank.

At the same time, it's always possible that I ordered the wrong items or the wrong combination. It just kinda sucks when you're not at all interested in eating the leftovers.... or trying to figure if there's a way you can salvage them.

I'd totally give the place another chance, but can't deny I was pretty disappointed with my first visit. Still trying to find some quality Chinese/ Japanese/ Thai places in Tacoma.

The place is super cute inside. The first time I went there I was so surprised with how good was the food. They fried tofu is the best one I’ve ever had. Lots of vegetarian options. I love their fresh spring rolls, they have a nice Bar insige, super fun place and great atmosphere.

The noodles are mush. Extremely over cooked. The sauce too tangy. But the chicken was tasty. The only thing good about it. Won't eat here again.

Wonderful experience! We ordered several selections from the appetizers menu. Everything was fresh and delicious: we had the Saigon Crepe (Wow! 5 stars), Wings, and sample appetizer plate. The service was very good - our server was new and still learning, but graciously sought to find answers to all of our questions.

A friend and I went here on a weekday night hoping for a little indulgence and we weren't disappointed. The food was so delicious! We sat ourselves around 7pm. Both of us got special drinks, I had the taro bubble tea at the suggestion of our server. It was amazing! My friend and I wanted different apps, but I had the fresh spring rolls. The peanut sauce was delicious! Once we were able to order our entrees it was about 730. I would have given a full five stars BUT! The service wasn't great. Our server was wonderful, but seemed in a hurry. The place was empty, and it made me feel like we weren't exactly welcome. The music stopped right after we had been served our food. I knew they were closing at 8, but rushing us out was not cool. We would have been happy to take our food to-go, and that could have been addressed when we ordered our entrees. Instead, it was awkward.

This was a delivery. The base sauce was delicious. The amount of chicken was less than I have ever seen in a "meal". Both items we ordered were the same.

Excellent service, superb food. I know the place was understaffed, and they were obviously busy, but we never waited and we were engaged with by staff consistently throughout our visit.

This was our first time eating here. We'd gotten bobas after eating at Peanut Sauce but since peanut sauce was closed when we dropped in, we came here instead. The pho reminded me of how pho used to taste before it got a little dumbed down for American tastes - super funky and redolent of anise. I loved it. And my teenager got the teriyaki beef with house made sauce which was a little different because the sauce was less like syrup like it is in most places and more like a marinade. Delicious.

I am so thrilled that we came by this place tonight. The food was absolutely scrumptious and our server was very attentive. I could see him at all times and he was sure to check on us every few minutes. The aesthetic was a unique vibe. Very clean and beautifully designed. They also have huge thriving plants and as a plant person that was really exciting for me! My honey and I took a paper menu home with plans to be regulars here. Thank you Lele! We look forward to coming again!

Nice small place for Thai food, taste of food ok, service is nice, clean and less crowded, no option for dessert.

My boyfriend raves about how much he loved this place when he used to live in the area so we drove the hour out to go get pho. Our server wasn’t wearing a mask which was the first thing I noticed. She was nice but we didn’t see much of her. The specialty spicy pho wasn’t spicy at all, and I ordered the 5 star. It was just super oily and messy. We also were given normal spoons instead of pho spoons which made it hard to eat. I ended up not liking my pho since it didn’t come with rice noodles and wasn’t what i was expecting. I never return items, but I just couldn’t eat it. She didn’t return until 30 minutes later when my boyfriend was pretty much almost done. I told her that I was sorry but I just didn’t enjoy it. She asked if i’d like to take the rest home and I politely declined. She ended up bringing a new pho for to go, which was very kind but we will be out for hours and it would have gone bad so i told her I appreciated her kindness but I’d rather not waste. They still charged us for the pho that I had 3 bites of. It was a disappointing experience to pay $16 for a meal I didn’t eat.

Delicious Thai food and I'm super picky.

I eat a lot of takeout, so I feel like I have a good sample for comparison, and the portion size here was pretty disappointing. I ordered bulgogi and the box was 50% rice. That wouldn't have been so bad if the other 50% was bulgogi, but it was just 25% bulgogi covering a massive pile of steamed vegetables which aren't even on the menu for this dish. Also, the bulgogi was sliced so thin that it was dry and chewy. Won't order again. The fresh rolls were great though.

Absolutely hitting-the-spot delicious! It is such a treat when I’m in the area, they have the best vermicelli bowls in Tacoma. I so appreciate the variety of vegetables, with amazing portions. This restaurant uses more herbs in their dishes than any other place. A good variety of herbs really makes your experience authentic, as I’m the type of person who deeply inhales their dish before devouring it. For that chefs, I want to thank you. I so appreciate the thought put into every dish.

The spice level feel a little lower than other places. We had the beef bulgogi and the sizzling eggplant along with the fried wontons. The bulgogi was really good. The eggplant had a tempura type coating on it that has a slightly interesting texture that I’ve never encountered in this dish before. Flavors were amazing.

I wish I ordered one dish to test this restaurants seasoning first. The food tastes like something a person who cannot cook just threw veggies and noodles in a frying pan, with some msg.. wasted $, I do not recommend this place.

Lele East & West Thai Vietnamese restaurant is a cosey and chill environment, serving very authentic Vietnamese dishes. I'd have to say the service was outstanding.

The restuarant was beautiful and so was the food. My meal was full of fresh vegetables and flavorful lemongrass chicken (the meal was Chicken vermicelli noodle bowl). I was in basil and cilantro heaven with this dish. Definitely worth the visit and will happily come back when in Tacoma.

The food was quite pleasant and flavorful. The atmosphere was great, though the music was way too repetitive. Great pricing and friendly service. Our red curry was especially delicious though the lemongrass chicken we got was great too. Also, they added a lot of veggies, which some places don't.

I ordered larp and tom yum soup. I can tell the larp was not freshly made. Old leaves (got dark) were there. Rice was not fresh. The color turned yellow ish. Look like that rice stayed in a jar for a long time. I ordered tom yum with level 2. It was level 4 or 5. Chilli was all over! I called this place, the guy (owner?) saidm "I am fine with that level." I don't care how much you can handle. He also said, "I didn't cook. Chef made it." This guy refounded and made another soup, but I will not come back. I will not recommend somebody expect authentic Thai food and good services.

Used to enjoy the food here but the last 2 separate times I ordered, the dishes were very salty and bubble tea was of poor quality.

It’s really hard to find good reasonably priced Asian food in Tacoma. They have large portions, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. The food was so unique. They offer a military discount as well!
