Freshly-made baked goods & breakfast items, espresso, and Thai lunches & dinners. Open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Friday. Dinner is available Tuesday through Saturday by reservation; call to reserve by 1:45 for same day dinner reservations.
I lov2w this place...the food is great and fresh...it has a true homemade quantity to it. You'll feel like your family is cooking for you from their Kitchen. You can taste the truest love in their cooking. I have been there a couple times...once for my birthday and it was special because they had chocolate Zucchini cake...one of my all time favorite desserts....lots of hidden treasures here.
We were looking for someplace different to go for lunch and came across The Mangrove Cafe. It's kind of a hidden gem as I've driven by there countless times and wasn't aware of it.
It's an old house transformed into a restaurant, so it's not very large with few tables, but that makes it quaint and quiet. The server was super friendly and efficient.
The food was spectacular. I ordered the Roasted Red Pork over rice and it was awesome. My wife ordered the Chicken Pad See-Ew and she raved about the flavors that blended harmoniously.
Both dishes were BEAUTIFULLY presented. Can't wait to go back for the expanded dinner menu.
It’s hard to describe how truly wonderful this hidden gem is. Tucked away off of Bowdish Road is a garden with this boutique restaurant in the middle. The owners are sweet and adorable. The chef (wife) is from Thailand and cooks the best Thai cuisine that I’ve ever enjoyed in the US. Check the website for hours because while Yelp and Google might assure you that they’re open, reservations are generally required for the evening. You may show up to find they cannot accommodate you or they’re closed.
By the way, we had the cashew chicken, chicken pad Thai, and my husband and I split their spring roll. Each was amazing. We highly recommend.
Well, this is an amazing hidden gem in Spokane. A friend and I wanted Thai Food, so we googled the restaurant and found this restaurant. We did not realize that it was by reservation only, but the owner had some availability.
I ordered the Red Curry dish that was AMAZING! They add slices of fresh pumpkin to it. When I say fresh, I mean that the cook (his wife) went into the garden and got a pumpkin! How cool was this!?
They are only open for a short window, but all money is donated to help elephants. What is better than a restaurant with great food, family-owned, and they donate the proceeds?
Seriously the BEST pad Thai my hubby and I have EVVVEERRRRR had! Also this restaurant is easily the cleanest food establishment I have ever entered!!! HIGHLY recommend eating here. The owners are incredibly kind!

Idk how we never knew about this place, but it is outstanding. For off us went to dinner, all the food was wonderful and the owners are so friendly. Truly a hidden gem!

Best Thai food I’ve ever had
Excellent food, great service, truly authentic. Support this restaurant!
This is a truly amazing place. A husband-and-wife team runs it. The conversation is as good as the food. It's a true hidden gem, and I'm glad I found it.
Food was great, staff were friendly, and it was a lovely atmosphere.
Quaint little house with friendly service and what feels like home-cooked, authentic Thai food.
Food was excellent. Great meal while on the road.
Pad Thai was great! Fun, quiet atmosphere. Definitely a place to go to again!
A hidden gem! Make sure you get there for lunch during the week or plan on reservations for dinner. The Dutch baby with pear and cheese was astounding! Absolutely so delicious. We did order the pad see ew as well. It was extremely fresh and tasted really good; next time I would ask them to leave out the cilantro because I don't think it fits. Everything was awesome though.
This is a great restaurant, probably the best food in the area. Great owners, great service, delicious food. People are sleeping on this restaurant. I will definitely be back regularly!
Support quality local establishments
Delicious food. Great service and ambience.
Small place with limited parking and beautiful garden. This place is super clean and I will definitely be back.
We meant to go to another restaurant but ended up at this place instead. We were so glad we did. This place is truly special. The food is to die for. I will for sure be back next time I'm in Spokane.
We stumbled upon this place and it was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had! The people are so warm and genuine, the food was fresh and some of the best thia food we have ever had.
My favorite full service restaurant! The food, the service, and the charming atmosphere - truly a hidden gem. Heads up, they like reservations for dinner.
Best authentic Thai food in Spokane! Hours are a little limited, but try to go if you are hungry for Thai food.

Had dinner here with our family. The food was delicious! I loved my Pad Thai with chicken! It’s a small place with a lovely garden, run by a husband and wife duo. You need to call ahead for a reservation. Highly recommend trying this place. So yummy!
What can I say but yummy. Perfect atmosphere, amazing service, what a wonderful hidden gem.
Amazing food and service was outstanding!
One of the best local places to eat out at. High quality service, food and atmosphere. Cute garden with a cute family owned business. Super fresh meats, fruits and veggies, most likely pulled from their home garden or other local places.
Very intimate setting. I felt like we were having dinner at a friend's house. Delicious!!!
Wow! We were blown away by this absolute gem of a place. The food was spectacular and the people and atmosphere… a true spiritual experience!
Quaint and delicious little hideaway.
Excellent food and service in a cute setting.
Absolutely love this place. The owners are wonderful and everything is cooked from scratch. It’s a joy to support their business and eat their food 🥰👍🏼
We just happened to stumble across this place. Best Thai restaurant in Spokane, small and quaint family owned. Food was fresh and hot. Great food and service. We will go back.
April 2022, awesome food and experience! Fresh made, delicious, will be returning. April 2023, we returned to find the food, service, and atmosphere have remained the same, excellent fresh made food, drinks, and desserts.
Best Thai food around
This place is totally obscure. I got the Dutch baby with lemon custard and blueberries. It was absolutely fantastic. Explosive flavor. I think I made a little noise when I took my first bite. WOW! I can't say enough about how good it was. The paintings on the walls were apparently painted by elephants in Thailand. Incredible to say the least. I really like this place and can't wait to go back.
Great food, friendly service and huge portions! Will be back next time I'm in town!
Very delicious and authentic food. Flavors are on point. Love this little tucked away restaurant.
Hard to find places in the Spokane area that match the quality I’m used to in Portland. This place has some of the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had anywhere.
Jeremy was such a nice, kind owner who sat me down with my Togo order and provided an amazing service and food prepared by his wife. All I will say is - best Thai food in all of Spokane, period.
I will be back, happy holidays Jeremy and family!
A hidden gem of the valley. Their khao soi is legitimately one of the best things I've ever eaten -- the rich, spicy, & complex coconut broth is everything you dream about if you love Thai food. Super nice staff too and their back garden is beautiful in the summer. A must try.
Mangrove is such a sweet place with unusual art pieces and AMAZING food and service! I recommend it to anyone who loves fresh fresh Thai
Scratch made limited menu. Owner/server quite friendly and attentive. Secret garden kind of feel.

Incredible food.
Everything we tried had such spectacular flavor and was so fresh and delicious!! Great service, too- such friendly owners!!
A lovely spot indeed! Larry, Owner was gracious and allowed us to dine in their beautiful enchanting patio with our two small dogs this evening!
Ambience, food and service was outstanding!

Service and food was spectacular. A little hidden gem.
The restaurant is a house made over into a restaurant. Cozy. Comfortable. Charming.
Amazing Thai food cooked with so much love by the owner herself
We stopped in to grab a quick to-go order of drunken noodles with Thai iced coffee and Jasmine tea. These have to be the best drunken noodles I've ever eaten. Easily 5 stars!
The food was awesome. Great service, very hospitable, friendly, love supporting local businesses. We will be back.
Wow! What an awesome place! Such sweet owners, Larry is so kind and his wife does the cooking and man can she cook! These dishes were so authentic, fresh and beautiful, not to mention delicious! Full of flavor and attention to detail. We had the spring rolls, salad rolls, Tom kha soup, almond chicken, drunken noodles and Thai ice tea and nothing disappoints! This is an awesome date night place or a night out with family. Get reservations, it’s a small place. Can’t wait to see the patio come to life this spring! Thanks for the great experience! We will be back!
Delicious savory crepe in a cozy home! I had the kindest gentleman help me when I arrived. He made the best mocha with a delicious frothy finish. I then started into a tasty savory crepe. The environment cant be beat! I felt I was having breakfast with a friend in their home. Thank you!
I had the Thai Fried Rice and it was delicious.
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing owners. Love this place!
What an amazing place!
The food was so fresh and tasty!
The carrot cake was the best in Spokane!
My wife Jill and I loved it and will be back for more :)
We love the fact that we plan to regularly visit and enjoy the yummy food and great service!
Really enjoyable Thai lunch place. It feels like it would serve home cooked food but tastes (and priced) more like fusion bistro level of cooking. Khao Soi and deep fried rolls are on point, definitely needs a bit more spice and fish sauce. Thai iced tea is too milky for my tastes, but to each his own. The dishes feels refined, with fresh ingredients and is leagues better than your average Asian take out. Worth the price.
The service and food were both very good! I can't wait to see this little gem in the summer🥰
But I won't be able to wait until then to return! So good 👍
Delicious and authentic! Great ambiance. Love the backyard garden and the quaint, beautiful old home converted into a restaurant. Definitely recommend.
Great food and service can't wait to go back
So delicious
Terrific!
The best Thai outside Thailand‼️
Just discovered this place! Food was amazing…fresh and flavorful. We will definitely be back to this little gem in the valley.
Delicious food! Super friendly people that own this place as well! You can tell they really care about what they do and making sure you have a great experience!
Never had that type of food before it was delicious
Small birthday. Just had pie. The owner was generous with his time. Small place but I'm going back for dinner.)
Really great food and friendly staff. The dinner was delicious, the portions were big and the presentation was perfect.
If I could give a 1 Million star review I would. This is the best Thai food I’ve tasted in the United States, on top of the amazing food, the owners are delightful, genuine, and put their heart and soul into their business and food. The owners came out to check on us several times to make sure our food and experience was perfect. I had the drunken noodles and my fiancé had the pad Thai. The vegetables tasted like they were fresh from the garden. We inhaled our food, it was delicious! The cherry on top was the beautifully decorated restaurant and picturesque garden surrounding the restaurant. If you are looking for the best Thai food experience in the Spokane/CDA area I highly recommend the Mangrove Cafe.
Love love love it, the owner came out to the table to ask how we enjoyed it. Must make a reservation for Dinner
I was looking for somewhere new to take my girlfriend and found this place. I am a little tentative leaving this review because I'm not sure that I want others to know about this gem.
Needless to say (and to keep this relatively short), the hospitality, atmosphere and food was fantastic. By far the best Thai I think I've ever had. The hosts were warm and welcoming and the seating is cozy and clean. Very comfortable, like you're having dinner at home.
I will absolutely be going back again. If there were more stars, they'd get them.
The food is fantastic and the service is wonderful! Cute cottage setting with some of the best Thai food Spokane has to offer. Delicious crepes too. The garden surrounding is so quaint and peaceful. Definitely a place you don't want to miss!
I was astonished to find an excellent authentic thai restaurant in spokane valley. Exquisite food, cozy adorable cafe with very attentive personal service. Try the pad thai, it was the best one ive had by far. I am already planning my next visit here!
I’m vegetarian. Wonderful food. I definitely recommend. Tastes divine and pastries
Authentic Thai and Allergen Friendly
We found this lovely family-run cafe and reserved the outside table under the gazebo. We were surrounded by flowers, plants, and 2 quail. We had a fresh spring roll, cashew chicken, red curry chicken, papaya salad, and sticky rice with mango.
I have gluten, dairy, and soy allergies which they accommodated. The flavors were like we experienced when we were in Thailand. Yumm! The service was excellent and friendly. Don't go for a quick dining experience, but go to savor the experience as she prepares each dish fresh. Make reservations. They have limited seating.
Best Tai food in Spokane, hands down!
Absolutely amazing meal! I went from not liking Thai food before entering to now loving it and wanting to come back already! The owners are so sweet and you can tell they have put a lot of there own selves into this place and the food! Best food in town! Go eat there!
We had a fantastic dinner at Mangrove Cafe. We tried the pork & pear and the shrimp spring rolls. They were excellent, especially
when drizzled with the dipping sauce . We shared the Pork Larb, Drunken Noodles and Red Curry. Each dish was prepared perfectly with super fresh ingredients. We bought Plum Coffe Cake and Carrot Cake to enjoy later. We will certainly dine here again! The service was just right and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed.
They have the best authentic thai food in town. It is a family owned small restaurant. Very nice owners. I highly recommend people to eat here. You will not be disappointed. I also recommend you try the cashew chicken.
It was my first visit today. I order the Northern Thai noodle soup dish with chicken, and I got a spring roll as well. Everything seemed to be homemade which was good, and the food was fairly tasty.
Fantastic Thai salad. Could eat it everyday.
First off fellas, if your trying to score some points with your wife or girlfriend and she likes Tai food this is your spot! When you get there, if it’s warm enough ask to sit in the garden. The owners are extremely nice and they built a special gazebo in the middle of a garden with only one table in the middle of it. If your going for dinner, the gazebo lights up at night and there is no one else around so it feels like you just booked a gazebo in the middle of flower garden and now have a private chef that brings you great food that Is extremely fresh. Trust me you’ll have great night.
Engaging service, exquisite atmosphere, enchanting gardens, delectable entrees! Tonight was our first dining experience at Mangrove but it's definitely a new favorite. We will be back!
I have been enjoying and even attempting to make my own Thai food for over 20 years now. That journey has brought many wonderful discoveries but none as special as this little restaurant. Hands down, it is the best Thai I have ever eaten. The owners and staff also take a personal interest in making sure you are well taken care of. The chef is so humble, yet gifted, that it is impossible to describe. Do yourself a favor and bring yourself, your special friends and family here. It will not disappoint. Having said that, it is a small establishment so reservations are highly recommended as they can't always accommodate walk ins. Also, the food is prepared fresh so come with patience as some dishes seem to take longer than our fast paced, instant gratification, American lifestyles are used to. If you are a vegetarian, or vegan they also have a number of dishes that can be made meatless, just ask and enjoy.
Friendly and very kind people in a very home feel to their restaurant. The food is very tasty with great choices to choose from.
Tops on flavor. I suggested slightly larger portion on entrees with a larger potion price. Two people should be a able to share two entrees and a have ample meal. The pad thai would bare suffice for one person, certainly not two. I will be going back regardless, the pad thai was the BEST I've ever had
The. Best. Thai. Food. Ive. Ever. Had.
Drunken noodles and their yellow curry had me feeling all kinds of things. Never going anywhere else when visiting Spokane.
Excellent food and a excellent host Jerry!
This is a cozy, private restaurant with incredibly fresh and authentic Thai quisine and breakfast cooked by a kind lady in a small kitchen. Everything is cooked to order so expect a wait for your dish. The gentleman that took our order was so kind and personable and made sure evey aspect of our meal was to our liking. It is spotless inside and had a beautiful garden surrounding the building. I can't wait to come here again and I would recommend this place to everyone. Best Pad Thai and Curry we've had in Spokane
It's a ok Thai restaurant. Nothing was super amazing or really bad. Just your average meal that didn't leave me saying this will bring me back
The food was great! We stopped in for lunch, and I ordered the fresh spring rolls with shrimp and the beef and vegetable soup. The spring rolls were super refreshing, and weren’t overstuffed with noodles. The soup was rich and super tasty, perfect for a snowy day, and it was served with a nice, crusty, homemade roll. My BF ordered the pad Thai, and he said it’s the best pad Thai he’s ever had. It wasn’t sticky and mushy like pad Thai can be, and was really strong with peanut flavor, just the way he likes it. The service was fantastic, and the ambiance of this little restaurant is super adorable and relaxing. I can’t wait to go back again!
Great customer service and home a like place.
This was so amazing! The flavors are like nothing I've ever tasted. We will definitely be back.
Quick, clean, friendly, and efficient!
Great food, recommend 👍
Really good and good prices!
We stopped by for morning coffee and a scone; also had Bubble Tea. The homemade pastries were very good. The Bubble Tea was delicious and fun drink. We loved the amazingly beautiful garden full of color and the meticulous interior decorations. The owners are wonderful people and have done a fantastic job with this little cafe. Planning to return for a real Thai meal.
Highly recommend.
Great food, owners are very friendly. Wish we had more like Mangrove Cafe!
Tucked back just off Bowdish and Sprague this is one of the cutest cafes in the valley. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and the staff was very friendly and inviting. I had the mango boba tea, and a fresh roll and they were both incredible. Highly recommend
the food was excellent, service and owner/chef very nice, very relaxing pretty view - amazing what comes out of that small kitchen, will go there a lot from now on 😁
Excellent Thai food, the owner is the chef and she is the real deal! It is a converted house, very nice atmosphere and as I mentioned the food was excellent!!
So delicious...so cute and so wonderful to just meet some genuine nice people.
We had a group of 4 and were pleasantly surprised by the small , cozy and quaint atmosphere of the Mangrove Cafe. We love Thaii food. The quality and taste of this home cooked Thai was excellent. I highly recommend their dinner menu and love their green papaya salad.. Be sure and call ahead as dinners are by advance reservation only.
Why would any true Thai food lover eat here? Curry?? It is not curry, not even a close mimic, not only does it not taste like it, whatever it is is so bad. We left over 3/4 of both. I'm confused as to how anyone said it is ok... I cannot speak for baked goods.
If you are a true lover of Thai or even tasty fresh flavors, please don't waste your$$.
Smaller place, but the staff is super nice. And the food is good as well.
Excellent food
delicious food, slow paced and adorable environment
This is the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. I have lived all over the state and been to dozens of restaurants in Seattle and Bellingham and NOTHING compares to this. Can't wait to go back!
Can't believe didn't know this gem was here! Vegetarian friendly (able to substitute different types if tofu for any meats). and leave out fish sauce as almost everything is fresh. The chef, whom I assume is the owner, checked on us several times. A great intimate house turned restaurant with beautiful outside seating front and back. Limited hours but a great substitute especially if you like Thai Kitchen :)
Food here is great. Better call and check if they are there.
Very clean place. Yummy food. We enjoyed everything we ordered and that's rare when go out. Friendly staff. We will be
Coming back for sure, it's our new favorite place😊
Friendly people, fresh wonderful food. Bakery, espressos, Thai food, what's not to
Best Thai food ever! Absolutely authentic. ( I know for a fact :)
Good food, great staff -- helped me out of a tricky parking space!
The setting was different -- relaxing and comfortable. Has a homey feel when you walk in. The owners are very friendly, and you can tell they love what they do. As you're waiting for your order, the mouthwatering smells begin to entice. If you're lucky, the owner-chef might serve you your food in a clean, beautiful presentation. The food was phenomenal! My wife and I got green curry and red curry. We barely talked to each other, absolutely enjoying every bite. All ingredients are fresh and hand-picked. All the flavors and spices are perfectly combined. Best curry we've both had anywhere. The thai tea and bubble tea were very well-made that it might be hard from here on out to consider ordering them from anywhere else. I definitely recommend this to friends and family.
Delicious food, beautiful building and garden, and personable owners.
Love this charming place. Dine outside amongst the beautiful flowers. Like an English Garden. Food delish. Lemon Curd Dutch Baby outstanding. Place very clean. Service outstanding.
Truly beautiful food made fresh and with love!
We waited about an hour for our food, but it was worth it. I had the Yum Woo Sen, fresh and delicious. My friend's had pad thai and red curry. The owner was very friendly and chatted with us while we waited. Him and his wife live in house next door and run the cafe out of a house. There's a beautiful garden in the front and back.
What a lovely establishment!! Cozy atmosphere, good home cooked food, amazing service. The owners make you feel at home-- almost as if you were their personal friends coming for a visit. A little pricey, but not for the experience e you get. Will definitely recommend to friends and be back again myself!
Keep going back for the amazing food, friendly service from the owners, and the quiet atmosphere.
A very cute and intimate setting. Refurbished house in an antique style.
Delicious breakfast items.
Absolutely amazing food! will leave your tastebuds wanting more. The best thai food in Spokane. the only critique I have is the portion size. not quite enough for my appetite.
Great tasting Thai and non Thai food. I always take home some bakery treats too. Friendly, welcoming staff. It's always a pleasure to visit.
Limited menu. Expected Curry options. Not authentic. Service was slow and half of our party was nearly finished by the time we were all served.
The best Thai food in Spokane!
I went during lunch on a Wednesday and my friend and I were the only customers so we had our choice of table. I had the chicken pad Thai with Thai coffee (espresso and sweetened condensed milk on ice). Everything was really tasty and I enjoyed my meal.
Food, environment, and service are fantastic!
Great authentic Thai food in a cozy, family restaurant atmosphere! I LOVE the curry dishes here.
Hidden Gem. If you really want something authentic, come for the Northern Soup (which is only served on Fridays and Saturdays). Cafe, Bakery, and great authentic restaurant. The walls are filled with local Spokane artists. Out back, is a small garden with seating.
Hidden gem. Great fresh rolls, delicious pad Thai. I've never liked creme brulee but had one there and it was delicious. Owners were very sweet.
Absolutely gorgeous little place. The food was so good and served with an appealing presentation. Staff was very personable and attentive. We felt like family and can't wait to go back.
Delicious!!
AMAZING food!!!! Everything is soo delicious!!! AMAZING service!!! Cutest little place! Love everything about it..again, AMAAAAZING AMAAAAZING FOOD!!!
Amazing amazing amazing! Food is something! Love the atmosphere too!
Small selection but the food is all delicious. The building has a really quaint vibe and the garden out back looks lovely. Highly recommend the mixed fruit crepe, it was otherworldy.
Stopped in for lunch on a very snowy afternoon with two friends. It's a small house converted into a lovely little tea/coffee place with fresh baked goods and now a Thai restaurant. We sat in the back room that overlooks what must be a lovely garden in the summer. Lunch menu is VERY limited. We shared 2 fresh rolls (1 beef, 1 shrimp). Pretty good--enjoyed the avocado in them. Pad Thai with shrimp, medium heat, ordered by friend #1 got rave reviews as did red pork with rice from friend #2. I tried both but wasn't impressed with pork. I had the coconut curry soup(only available Fri-Sat) with chicken. Great Thai flavors! The only thing sadly missing was some fresh Thai basil. Other thing that was sad? The price. All this and a pot of tea was about $60 with tip.
Awesome food, lovely couple, and did I say awesome food?!
Have been here several times. Very good food and excellent friendly service.
Walking up to the restaurant you go through such an adorable little garden and then enter into a cozy, beautifully decorated converted home with intricately stamped walls. The food and conversation was phenomenal. I came with a large group and got to try almost half the menu. SO GOOD. Beautiful garden and seating area in the back too. Everything is very intimate. Just the owner was working when we were there, so this does take some time...but its SOOOO worth it! We were the only ones there most of the time and received incredible service from Mallika. Highly recommend giving it a try! I know I'll be back.
