Familiar Thai fare, from spring rolls to curries, in a bright spot with carved-wood furniture.
Pretty good food, service is quick.
We came in for dinner on a weekday and were able to get seated right away. Ordered 2 pad thais - one with chicken and one with tofu. The pad Thai is not greasy at all which is great and the flavors are quite nice too.
Docked a star because the tofu tasted a bit odd and had a funny smell to it - I’m picky about tofu, so this might just be an issue for me.
We’ll be back! So good! We shared a veggie fried rice, garlic green beans, and red pumpkin curry. It was all so good in the moment and as leftovers. I like how thin they cut the pumpkins so it was fully cooked. Lots of broccoli 🥦 in the curry and it’s my fav vehicle of red curry to my mouth. 🤤
Green beans were so flavorful too, cooked just right!
Great food, large portions, and fast service! We've dined in a few times and it's always been great. We ordered take out one night and it was super fast; online said ~45 minutes and it barely took 15, and everything was hot and delicious. The one nitpick would be that I wish their Thai hot was spicier, over multiple trips I'd consider it closer to a 2 out of 4.
Stopped here for a mid week dinner at around 9 pm. The place was not very crowded and we got a seat almost immediately. The decor was kind of nice and service was great. I got the tofu fresh roll which was okay and I liked the peanut sauce. I also got the kee mao , spicy which was nice. I got it with pork and it was not too spicy. My wife got the Delight from the entree as well which was pretty good as well. Overall I would say it is a decent place and would come to try the fried rice next time.
It’s my first time getting Thai food in awhile now. My wife and I decided to go out with my mom and her husband, they love Thai so we found Rom Mai Thai on Broadway and thought we should give it a try. The staff is friendly and the vibe of the restaurant is great. The decorations are appealing and it felt like an all around good family place to dine. It was pretty cold in the building though…
We ordered drinks and a spring roll appetizer(the one thing I didn’t take a picture of, man I was so hungry). The drinks and app arrived quickly and at the same time. My wife’s Thai tea was absolutely delicious! I had a classic Singha beer which I would recommend to anyone that has not had it. If you are getting Thai food you must try a Singha along with your order.
I’ll be honest our main dishes did take a long time, longer than I normally would like. There was a lot of orders for pick up and many door dashers picking up. I think because of this the cooks were slammed and the service was slightly slower. This is the reason for the 4/5 star review. When the food did come it was very fresh and tasted great! I ordered Spicy Duck Curry and woooooooooh it was amazing.
If you are looking for a classic Thai restaurant give this place a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed. Also, according to covid laws they take it pretty seriously and the building is very clean. -Colter
Went with a recommendation and tried their hormak special. It was tasty! Restaurant was kept clean and the bathroom was maintained spotlessly. Lots of seatings inside and outside seatings are available also. Parking on the street can be difficult but there were many spots when we arrived around 5 PM on Saturday.
Pineapple fried rice was just ok, nothing too special. Massaman curry was too sweet though, and I did not enjoy that as much.
One star dinged because they don’t give you a bowl of rice when you order curry. I found this very strange, how would you eat curry? Do thai people eat curry like it’s some kind of soup?
The server was very kind though.
My new favorite Thai restaurant in Seattle. 🥰😍 they don't have pork in their menu (like crispy pork in other Thai resto) but their food is so good I'm fine with that. 😋 super clean and homey establishment. Servers are all attentive, and we've never had to wait long to get a table. Try this resto and you'll never regret it 😚
Super friendly, their back sesame is amazing
Great pad Thai!
The food is pretty decent but overpriced
Honestly very disappointed.Place had good reviews and endorsements from the Thai travel board. However the pad thai was dry and bland. The wonton soup was mid, and the spicy seafood was rediculously disappointing. Tldr non of the dishes were even close to the sum of their parts.
Been our favorite for YEARS!!! OVER 2 DECADES! I've truly learned to not order Prik King anywhere else, the other places always disappoint. Best Prik King ever! Thank you for continuing to make amazing dishes for decades!
Delicious Food, Great Portion Sizes and Extremely courteous staff. Great place with good amount of vegetarian options
Pretty good food, service is quick.
We came in for dinner on a weekday and were able to get seated right away. Ordered 2 pad thais - one with chicken and one with tofu. The pad Thai is not greasy at all which is great and the flavors are quite nice too.

A $20 curry entree comes with no rice - They want you to spend more money on a required side of rice, which costs them near nothing. The chicken in my curry was overcooked and chewy and the green curry sauce was rather bland.
We come here every Friday for lunch. The staff is super friendly and we love the food. Especially the garlic chicken!
Our go-to take out! The pad see ew and cashew rice are out of this world, but everything we’ve gotten here is great!
We ordered take out on Uber eats. Food was such a small portion for price over $20/dish. On top of that, the food arent special except tasting like food and salt.
I ordered pineapple fried rice & crispy chicken. I wouldn't come back.
Delivery person was rude. Paid $68 bucks. $25 bucks for two meals, $5 for Thai coffee, $4 for rice. $8 tip. Duck was all dark meat, mushie, unappetizing, and bland. The drink was pure sugar and oil, little to no coffee.
Family friendly and super sweet environment!
In my experience, food was delicious and the service was really quick. Staff were friendly and helpful during ordering. Would recommend.
The food isn't great but not bad either. The folks working there are very nice though.
There is no crab in the Crab Rangoon, only plain cream cheese. See the picture. Neither taste nor smell of crab meat as well.
We ordered online. As an answer to our complaint they yelled: Don’t order it if you don’t like it!
Amazing staff and quality food!
They tend to go a bit lighter on the heat scale here; especially salads.
Had the Pad Kee Mao. Was $20 with very little beef, and very little noodles.
I've had way better, and bigger portions for much less.
My office has taken out lunches twice and both were just average. The first time I ordered barbecue pork with extra pork and for the second time I got garlic chicken with rice. The food is really sweet and their scale level is pretty low for a Thai restaurant. The portion size is small for the price and the flavors aren’t there. The barbecue pork looked like it was baked rather than grilled/charred and the garlic chicken comes with a side salad of shredded cabbage and carrots but no dressing. I’d recommend Pinto Thai 5 mins away rather than here.
I don’t really know where to begin (lol) this place used to be good, but then they raised their prices and the food quality went down the drain.
I do love their lunch specials however, they’re affordable and pretty good. Don’t order the tom kha as it’s $20 for a small bowl and don’t get the pad Thai, it’s flavorless.
If you’re debating whether you should eat here or maybe another place on the hill, go ahead and go absolutely anywhere else unless you want to have a really mid experience.
The service is great tho- the staff is very friendly. Decorations very tacky no fung shui let’s be honest…. The food speaks for itself.
Thanks so much Rom Mai Thai for charging an arm and a leg for mediocracy. Sure hope it gets replaced with something else in the coming years.
What an awesome Thai restaurant! We're regulars at this intimate spot. Nice decor, amazing staff, and fantastic food! Great for in-house dining or take out.
I love this place. That staff is so kind and food is great!
Great food, have been to thailand 4 times, and my wife is Thai. I can attest to it being real, great tasting, and authentic. #1 place in USA
Fun, colorful restaurant in Cap Hill. Great for dine in but easy for take out. Great tasting food, and the portion sizes are generous. In terms of price, it is on par with other Thai restaurants in Seattle.
Best Thai food ever!!!
They got my order wrong. I drove all the way home before I found out. The lady was giving me attitude even though it was her mistake. I think she was embarrassed but didn’t want to admit it.
Service is always quick and great. I love the orange beef, it's the reason I go. Just tried their pants curry last visit and it wad also great. Another go to is coriander chicken, I didn't see it on the menu last time, but they made it. Orange beef is still amazing.
Great food, and free delivery in the neighborhood! They’re always so friendly, fast, and the food is delicious. Favorite Thai food in Seattle!
the take out from here is amazing and the dine in service is good too.
Best Thai in Seattle. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes here
The appetizers were absolutely perfect(I got the fresh rolls ) and the souses were pretty good but then the entré was ok. The flavor was just not there
Great peanut sauce!
Food was very flavorful and fresh. Staff was attentive and very nice. The restaurant was so clean and the decor was very pleasant. My group had an amazing experience here and would come back!
The food and service was amazing!
My favorite Thai place on the hill.
green curry was good but expensive. crab rangoon arent very crabby
Great food great service
Amazing food and staff
This is the only Thai I eat in Seattle!!
Super yummy!! I recommend the Prik King
Been here for dinner, many, many times. We went for lunch today. Do not let the prices deceive you! You will have leftovers. Great lunch menu.
Friendly service, great Thai staples. The larb was excellent.
Great Thai food and ample seating. Even though it’s not technically Thai, they make a unique orange chicken. Their coconut ice cream is also some of the best I’ve ever had. We normally eat the pad kee mao as well. Have not had a bad dish here.
Recently picked up Tom yum and got diarrhea I would not recommend. They refused to speak to my partner about the issue.
I would not recommend this restaurant. My boyfriend and I ordered the soup and got incredibly sick after.
We called the restaurants and got yelled at after. Horrendous service. Don’t waste your time here.
We have been coming to this place for more than 10 years. They have kept great quality and service. Keep in mind they close at 2:30 and reopen at 4 pm from Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 9 straight. There's no parking lot but you can park on the street
Awesome authentic Thai cuisine 👍
This is probably my favorite spot in Seattle to enjoy Thai food. The quality is consistently high and the service is always very personable.
Very good food. Great customer service.
The best pad see ew in town
Great Thai food!
I have been going to this place for over 15 years with my family. The food here is great and the people that work here are very friendly. Very flavorful dishes. Their teas are a great option too!
Favorite Thai food in Seattle! ♥️
This was my first experience here. I ordered an appetizer and entree, which I ate. Then I ordered mango sticky rice to go. I noticed in the way out that it was featured as a special on a sign near the door. The friend tofu was great! The pesait sauce is as peanut sauces should be: not too sweet, not fishy, tasting like peanuts. I had prik king, which was green beans, onions, carrots, green peppers, and tofu sautéed in an oil-based curry. It was delicious. I’m excited to try the mango sticky rice!
Service was excellent, server was attentive and responsive. Order was taken quickly and food cooked promptly. It was lovely. I highly recommend.
This is my favorite Thai place in the neighborhood. Amazing noodles, curry, and spring rolls. The staff is always so kind and I love the delivery through their website. :)
The food was outstanding and and the staff was very attentive and pleasant. The restaurant was very cozy and comfortable . Awesome food 👍👍
If you are looking for consistently delicious and reliable Thai food, these guys are it. And if you are living on Capitol Hill, their local delivery is inexpensive and super friendly. I would order from them several days a week if I could.
Amazing service, atmosphere and food.
I've been coming here for over a decade and the service and food quality is always excellent. Every dish is amazing and everyone is always so friendly. You won't be disappointed, whether its dine in or delivery!
Delicious Thai food and easy delivery through their website. I love the crispy garlic chicken, ginger fried rice, tom kha soup, and crispy wontons!
Excellent food and the best satay ever!
Pick up time said 25 minutes, it took 45. I don’t think they started working on it until I got there. Zero utensils in bag.. thank goodness my hotel had some. A pound of vegetables and hardly any meat. Bland and watered down. Zero spice. No rice? Who doesn’t serve rice with Entrees? The only good thing about this meal was the Crab Rangoons. Not sure how this was worth $65.. a complete joke.
Best Spring Rolls!
One of the only places in seattle where you can eat good food an not be disappointed , without the frills. This is my go to place when I can’t decide what to eat. Remember that moment where you are hungry and just want food? This is the place to be.
Okay so I am addicted to this place! I get food here probably more than I should and half the time when I want it I try to talk myself out of it (trying to eat in more)
This place never disappoints and is always fresh and FAST! By far one of my favorite if not favorite Thai place in Capital Hill
Had a great time here with my friends. The food was yummy and the customer service was awesome! I’ll have to comeback!
Absolutely love this place. My favorite Thai restaurant. The panang curry and pad kee mao are the best I've ever had, definitely would recommend this place.
If I’m on the hill and want Thai, this is my go-to.

I have been getting food from her for 10 years plus. Best crab delights and Tom yum soup with veggies in town by a landslide.
Stopped in for lunch, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and the restaurant was very clean! We will be back!
The food was great, the panang curry was exceptional, very thick, not runny like most other Thai restaurants.
Serving size was absolutely on spot. Vegetables fresh as can be, nice and crispy. Spice was just correct zing with no Zang.
delicious tasty food! great location and parking
Very delicious coconut soup! Loved the cucumber salad as well.
Great service and food. A pleasant surprise on cap hill
Food was ill prepared and flavorless
Yum 🍜
This is my favorite Thai restaurant. I have been going there for 8 years. The food is always on point, and they have very friendly service. Love the crab rangoon and Thai fried rice.
Very, very average food, we tried multiple dishes like Friend calamari, pad ki mau and panang curry. Service is good.

Good food and good service
Just a great Thai place. Everything was very fresh and delicious.
Good food but pricey
Delivery was free, quick and this is the best Pad See Ew I’ve ever had. So good!
Summary: above-average/excellent Thai food with Seattle/Cap Hill prices and convenient location (near light rail; parking is not impossible -- going north toward Volunteer Park)
I am Southeast Asian with Thai people in my family (and visited Thailand with them) and having grown up in Los Angeles, I had a hard time with Seattle's plentiful yet forgettable Thai options. They're all pretty good for a meal but not good enough that I would want to come back. I have lived near this Thai spot for a number of years, but I finally decided to drop in because my favorite Thai spot on Cap Hill closed (RIP Wedgewood Thai II - vegetarian Thai spot). Over the few months of my exploration, I will say that Rom Mai Thai is among the top contenders for new favorite neighborhood Thai spot.
I usually order takeout (cook my own rice) and almost always a curry, a noodle dish, and a veggie (som tum or eggplant tofu) to compare restaurants. First, the spice level was nice. 2/5 was Asian 2/5 (American 3/5), which is great. The curry had a nice herbal sweetness to it with high quality coconut milk. The noodles had great smoky flavor -- excellent wok hei technique! This time, we got eggplant tofu rather than som tum. Finally, I can't 100% remember the eggplant tofu but I liked the sauce and the tofu texture was good. While not as generous as Wedgewood Thai II, the portions were definitely appropriate to price -- after dinner for two, there were enough for leftovers the following day.
The only thing that I'm still looking for is my favorite pad kee mao. Here, it is spicy dry and flavorful, but not 100% what I'm looking for. I haven't found a place in Seattle that makes pad kee mao with the dry herbal spicy flavor like my favorite Thai spot in LA (strangely, the only other place I've found that outside of Thailand was in Berlin, Germany -- Thaiweisse where Thai grandmas cook noodles out on a field, but I think the city shut it down because of food safety license concerns).
Recommended! I would come back.
Terrible and greedy owners! Dont waste your valuable time. Made the effort to walk 15 minutes to have a sit down meal but we were sat down and given water's but they only had 1 waitress. She never stopped by to even take our drink order she was too busy taking phone orders ahead of us even though we were first. There was another couple that came in after us that was also being ignored ignored. Skip it!
The food was exceptional the service was as well with a nice atmosphere however it was VERY expensive for what we ate.
I went with a big group for the first time and we all loved it! Level 4 spicy was actually spicy so I was happy about that. Will definitely visit here again!
This is the one Thai restaurant that I gush about. Love it
I don't know if this was an off day for the restaurant crew but our party of three had a bad experience for dinner. There were only 9 tables with people, maybe 1/2 or 2/3 occupancy, but it took the waiter 20 minutes to get our orders. One of our friends got her dish 10min before the rest of us, which was already odd, and it was barely warm. Two of us waited 35min for our order to arrive (fried rice and pad see ew). I'm still leaving two stars because the food was not bad and the waiter was still nice (yet not apologetic), but the food was not particularly good (a lot of rice but few vegetables in the cashew fried rice).
Ab-solutely stunning-ly delicious thai food 😩I order orange chicken to go, after literally eating a serving of it in the restaurant. The phad se ew will absolutely blow you away, and the OWNERS have been cooking in the kitchen for at least the last 15 years I've been coming here! Please pass on your secrets to a protege owners! I can't live without knowing I can come down here to get amazing thai food. 😊
Very delicious food. Pics do no justice! And very friendly staff. Def recommend 👌🔥
Best Thai takeout / delivery in Seattle! Recommend the Thom Yum soup and Panang Curry. Order through their website for free delivery!
Loved the food and the staff. Delicious veg preparations
Fantastic Thai place with all the classic dishes. Had a delicious Tom Kah soup. We were a very large party and they manage to accommodate us graciously. Highly recommend this place. Friendly staff and good food.
Yummy yummy place. Food is amazing, doesn't feel heavy
Best ma and pa Thai on Broadway. Their food is delicious--especially the pineapple fried rice with extra veggies and the chicken satay (nom nom nom). The owner is so sweet and not only runs the kitchen but also does all of their deliveries. Love him!
The Tum Yum is to die for.
Delicious food and always great service. The orange beef is amazing.
The stuffed chicken wings are a must the chicken pad Thai the pineapple chicken fried rice my word it’s a must come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While it may not be my go to Thai place in the area, there's no denying that the pad kee mao was spicy and flavorful. Service was fast
Went here with a friend a couple of days ago and didn't realize they were closing soon. Once we did realize, we tried leaving but the lady told us it was okay and that we could dine in. The food was really great, and their kindness even greater
Terrible service and expensive. Their quantity compared with other Thai restaurants is a scam. The flavor terrible, do yourself a favor and don’t eat here.
Very nice restaurant,food was good,good amount,nice atmosphere.
Best Thai food that I have ever had in the pacific northwest. The shrimp pad thai with peanut sauce was amazing as were the spring rolls.
Im from out of town... You never know to trust reviews or not ..i ordered the panang coconut curry with chicken ... Medium heat and it was wonderful. Flavorful. Great service. Friendly atmosphere .. cute town are to walk. I'd come back again.
Decent food, unexceptional.
Been a big fan of Rom Mai Thai for years now! The staff have always been polite and take care of you. The food is excellent, well priced, and the portion sizes leave you feeling like you’ve certainly gotten your money’s worth-if not more.
Bland and very oily...and I just found they raised the prices. I won't be back.
Great food for very reasonable prices
Quick service and did was good.
Very good food 🥘 😋 I love
The flavor and char on the noodles was terrific. Very happy with the vegetable medley on the curry, but I wish the broth was thicker. It goes well over a side of rice.
If you’re ordering takeout, have utensils ready because they aren’t included.
If you order from their website you get a good notification system and ready time.
Hands down. Best thai in town!
Best Tom Kha Gai I've had outside of Bangkok, and the Pad Thai was delicious as well. Clean, comfortable dining area. Nothing more I could ask for, new favorite Thai food location. Our first visit was 4 days ago, and we're already planning a return trip this week.
Their kee mao noodle is amazing! Lovely people, amazing food, I have been making this restaurant a weekly meal.
It’s my first time getting Thai food in awhile now. Excelente service
Good food but the service could use some help. I was there dining and conversing with my friend and we had to wave our server down each time we needed something.
I'd go back though.
tofu pad see ew. that’s all.
This is one of those locations that I keep forgetting about until I walk by it. They have some solid food and are usually not very busy. I will try and do better about adding them into my routine. It is a good meal at a good price for Cap Hill.
I ordered calamari, curry , spring rolls . Sorry to say the Quality of food has declined over the years especially since the remodel I have been coming here for over 15 years and I would have to say now the food is horrible calamari was tough as a tire curry had no flavor only thing was good with my wine in a nice chilled glass and I’m not even going to mention the spring rolls .
What an excellent meal! Everything was perfect and delicious and the staff was very friendly and fast!
Amazingly yummy food, with quick, friendly service, and at excellent prices. This is the place—what a wonderful hidden gem. We got the duck curry, shrimp curry, Thai tea and crab wantons oh my jeeezzz!!!!! So good!
Absolute favorite Thai place in the area. Have ordered delivery as well and always delicious! Highly recommend crispy garlic chicken.
Great atmosphere, the food had a great presentation and it tasted great too. Hard to find places like this.
I think the staff are nice and friendly. But, the food was just not good. I ordered Pad Thai and it was way too charred. There was no flavor in those noodles. I couldn't taste the tamarind sauce or anything that reminded me of Thailand. For the price that I paid, I expected more. I don't want to discourage anyone from coming here, but I certainly won't be back.
Excellent food and staff. Love it here
Great customer service. I also enjoyed my Thai Tea and Thai Fried Rice with chicken.
The BEST wait staff in Seattle. They've always got excellent food and drink prepared quickly too.
Very delicious and the people are extremely kind.
