Overall I would return but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I had high hopes for this place after reading a handful of positive reviews, but ended up largely disappointed.

The Yellow Curry was incredibly bland and tasted mostly of coconut milk. The Pad Thai was so fishy tasting that my wife couldn't eat it and we're Thai food fanatics. I only ate it because I was hungry at the time, but it wasn't pleasant at all. Plus, the noodles were so mushy that they just fell apart, which made the dish difficult to eat with chopsticks like I prefer.

Prices are quite high for what you get and it appears they charge extra for rice in addition to the high cost of the curry, which isn't a particularly large portion on its own as you can see by my pictures.

The fact that some of the top reviews are from family and friends of the owner probably should have been a red flag.

Ultimately, I can't really see a reason to come back here when so many better Thai options exist in the area.

The service is so friendly and welcoming, the food is always fresh and delicious and I’ve never been disappointed in any of it ever and I’ve been eating here for a couple years. My go to favorites is the pad Thai, Pho, fresh salad rolls, and chicken satay. I’ve tried other Thai restaurants in the area and have been disappointed in the quality and quantity of their food. You can tell how much hard work is put into this restaurant and food based on how amazing it is, both in taste and visuals. I will always recommend this place for Thai to anyone. I wish I could eat this food more often lol and I wish I could get delivery somehow.

Banh Mi with the steak Pho and a Thai iced tea. Incredible food and great service. My family and I have eaten here many times and the quality and flavor is consistently perfect.

This is our favorite Thai Food Restaurant. We have been going here for years. My favorite is the Yellow curry with chicken. The salad rolls with peanut sauce are delicious. The staff are always very friendly.

I’m very patient so it was no big deal but I could tell the jimmy genuinely felt bad for the wait, and that really stood out to me. While waiting I watched jimmy going to a table with some customers eating to make sure the food was everything they wanted.
I came here once with my partner and had been dying to come back to try the bahn mi sandwich. It blew my expectations, and I’ll be bringing my family and friends here on a regular basis.

A fantastic mother and son operation we happened upon through serendipity on our way back to Vancouver from Seattle.

Jimmy, the son, is extremely kind and friendly. He went out of his way to make sure our 5-year-old was happy with his food.

The food was excellent, with a very distinct home-cooked feel.

This is a two man shop, Jimmy and his mom Mai whom the shop is named after. They’ve been there since 1994. The service was phenomenal. He made sure to greet me and check in with me as well as the others here. I heard another lady(senior)as she was leaving saying she loved the food and wants to come back everyday!

I’m surprised I’ve not come here more often. This is definitely my go to pho shop going forward! Can’t wait to try what else they have ❤️.

My go to Thai restaurant in Marysville. Mai has such fresh dishes, and her sauces are not heavy like I have had other places. The atmosphere is nice and quiet for those of us who have trouble hearing in many other restaurants.

Last weekend we visited again after a long time. We ate Vegetarian Phad Thai and Chicken Satay Combo with spice level-4. Both dishes are good.
The vegetarian phad thai had a good amount of vegetables, mushrooms, and tofu. But, the taste is a bit more sweet than expected.

I really don't think the good reviews for this place is warranted, to be honest. I'll preface this review to say that the service was friendly and relatively good. However, the same cannot be said about the food. I got the yellow curry with chicken, and it was horrendous. I asked for a relatively high spice level, but I didn't taste anything spicy. The chicken was pretty dry and the curry was kind of tasteless. I don't remember exactly how much I paid, but it was close to Seattle prices. I can't believe this place has 4.5 stars while a much better quality restaurant in Seattle (Kin Len, which I highly recommend by the way) has 4.3 stars.

My family has been going to Mai’s for over 25 years. The food is incredible and the business is run by an incredible family, the mother, Mai herself, cooks every dish to order, and always greets every customer with love. Although I’ve grown up and moved away, every time I visit my mother, we gather at Mai’s, and when a new friend visits WA, Mai’s is the first place I take them. Her food is a unique combination of Thai and Vietnamese, and they have so many options for gluten free, vegetarian, vegan. The list goes on. They also offer incredible take out, and the quality has remained impeccable throughout the years.

Tried Mai’s for the first time today; I am very impressed. Firstly things - spacious for the location, super clean, well-lit with great ambience. But more importantly —the servings are amazing. I had the Curry Talay (2*) and just wanted it to go on forever. Got to try a forkful of my wife’s Phad Thai and it was also excellent. Highly recommended.

I just moved to Marysville and found Mai's restaurant with good reviews. The food wasn't terrible, but what annoyed me was that the cashier was dishonest. She charged $1.95 for a steam rice which I didn't order (takeout) and gave me a non-itemized receipt that only showed the total bill. I asked about the discrepancy, and she said everyone usually ordered steam rice with an entry. She did apologize for this instance.

Not that $1.95 was a lot of money. I value dishonesty a lot when I eat out, as I cannot trust what a dishonest owner put into my stomach.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to let my guard down this weekend afternoon. I'll pass on this restaurant... I hope that they just didn't welcome me for whatever reasons but treat other customers better.

I have been eating at Mai's since 2007, and I later found out my auntie had been eating there since the late nineties before me. It's owned by my best friend's mom, Mai, and she makes the best Thai/Viet food in Marysville, hands down. I can see how one might think I'm just biased, but I've tried Thai lots of other places, and nothing I've found has beaten Mai's, in town or elsewhere. The Phad Thai is obviously the staple/signature and it's so so good. Spicy as heck if you want it. Noodles cooked dto perfection in just the right amount of oil with a perfect noodle:meat:veggie ratio. The whole menu is great. Banh mi, seafood dishes, etc., The food is always good and the service is even better. A hometown staple, I'll never stop going there. Dining in is lovely, and takeaway is quick and easy. Love you Mai, Lom, Jimmy, & fam!

Love this place a lot. This is our favorite Thai restaurant since my wife and I move our work to Marysville. I have tried several foods on their’s menu and all of them are pretty good, like them all. My husband and I found this spot about a year ago and we couldn't have been happier with how amazing the food and the workers are! The food is the freshest we have had compared to all the other Thai food spots near Marysville and beyond and I have never met more friendly workers that truly care about customer service and how the customer feels. We are always greeted with a warm welcome and get our food fast! We definitely recommend this place! The phad Thai is our personal favorite!!

The phad thai taste more like fish sauce than anything else. It is missing the peanut flavor you'd expect. However the bbq pork bahn mi is really good!

Exceptional customer service! I called to place my order and they were very friendly on the phone. It my first time ordering from this restaurant and they were helpful in providing directions to their location. Upon arriving at their place, we were greeted kindly. The restaurant was very clean inside. We ordered seafood fried rice, special fried rice, and pad kee mao. All three were really tasty and good portion sizes. We will definitely be going back!

Very disappointed.. this is the second Thai place I’ve tried in marysville since moving up here and the pad thai is just so off in flavor! The noodles were over cooked so breaking apart in tiny pieces. Before squeezing the lime on my chicken pad thai it tasted bland and fishy.

I have only ever had takeout pho one other time before and it was awful! I wanted to try again and this place was amazing! The service was excellent, very friendly and helpful cashier, and they did everything to make sure my experience was great. I will definitely be going back to Mai’s!

Edit - prices have gone up a lot in just a couple months, as I know they have everywhere. A yellow curry that used to be 11.95 is now 14.95 AND 1.95 extra for the rice, which used to be included. Food is still great, but not as easy to afford.

You can get vegan options including vegan bubble tea with coconut cream. The serving size is on the smaller side but it's affordable and super yummy.

Went in yesterday with my girls for first time. We were not disappointed. Food was great , best Thai I have tasted and peanut sauce was on point. Waiter was very friendly and made sure we were happy. Even after my Toddler made a mess with her food as she did finish her food but is a messy eater. Will be back with the whole family soon.

The service is friendly, polite and very customer oriented. When I asked how long the order would approximately take (so I would know when to head over) Jimmy went and asked the cook. He even called me back when the order was ready. I've never had a place do that for me. I had the Pineapple Curry and the Chicken Satay. The chicken was a tiny bit overdone but still enjoyable but the peanut sauce was awesome!

My wife ordered the Shrimp Prik King and the Seafood Basil. The boba tea was soooooooo freaking good. Best I've had in a long time (even better than Canada and almost if not AS good as San Diego (where I used to live.)

Service was horrible! After we got our food they didn't check on us we finished our food and wanted dessert and no one around to be found to help with the order or to get our check. After 10 to 15 min of waiting around we finally got help. It wasn't like this place was busy either so they had time to check on us just never did. There was no one else in the restaurant but us. I think while we were there 2 people came and picked up to go orders. The food wasn't great either. Just kind of bland to the taste. I've had a lot better other places. We won't be going back mainly cause of the bad service.

I particularly love the food and service. My go-to is the beef pad Thai, fried veggie spring rolls, and Thai iced coffee. I've been to Thailand, had authentic Thai food and still love coming to this hole-in-the-wall restaurant.

I think it's a family that runs it. A dad, mom, and son? They're all really nice and the service they provide is fast and friendly. My phoned-in to-go orders are usually ready by the time I arrive to pick them up.

This was very good Thai food. A bit of unusual ingredients thought - my pad See Eew came with cabbage and bell peppers. Wonderful service yes... VERY nice lady that served us. She did everything herself..She took the order, she cooked the food (EVERYTHING) but because of that we had to wait 40 minutes for our order and we were the only ones there. The food was ok. I've had a lot of Vietnamese food and this was definitely interesting. The thai tea was delicious but....the extreme heartburn my family woke up with that lasted 2 days solid after eating here was not worth it. Woke up in middle of the night with heartburn myself and had to throw up because the food was so greasy nothing would kill the burn. Bad burn!!! My family all had bathroom problems in the middle of the night after eating here. Very greasy. If you like grease this is the place for you. The pho broth was a puddle of grease and I did not add anything at all to it. I have another restaurant that serves same food in Everett that offers fresh non greasy meals. I will be sticking with my regular place. Oh well. We tried it. Nice lady but the heartburn and bathroom problems for two days just weren't worth it. Yikes!!!!!

Seriously SO happy right now!!! I have been craving good Thai food for so long and... I have it! Crazy thing is I live just down the street and I can't believe I have never been here till now! Not only is the food super yummy, but the service was so friendly and welcoming! I will definitely be back! Found my new favorite spot!

My family love's to eat here. We haven't had any bad meals. They are all made fresh and to your liking.

Such a great place for lunch or dinner. The owner and her son who work there are amazing people! So sweet and caring. Great food, service and very clean! We use to go there at least once a week before COVID-19.

The people here are great, service and food are good as well. The salad rolls are my favorite and my kids and husband love the chicken pad Thai. We have eaten here a few times and they are very consistent.

Great vegan options for the lunch special! I got the swimming eagle (pictured) and my boyfriend got the pad thai and chow mein. The peanut sauce is amazing 🥜 everything there is amazing. Mai made us special vegan soup🥣. They made me a bubble tea with coconut cream instead of half and half, which was super awesome! Perfect tapioca pearls and great flavor selections. Will definitely be back! There's a lot of regulars here.

We enjoyed Phad Thai and Chow Mein with prawns. The food was fresh and the server was very cheerful and appreciative.

It's the family's favorite restaurant. Been going to Mai's since 2002. It's harder to get there now that we moved but we stop in there any chance we get. Mai is a great person! Her phad thai is my favorite!

I tried this place out of the eating it had. First impression was that it's a run down looking shopping center that could use some maintenance. The restaurant had an odd smell when I first walked in, probably due to age of building.. this was overcome by the delightful smell of the kitchen. The food was excellent and not what I expected, I see why its getting higher reviews.

First time here and had the Vegetarian Soup (vegan). OMG. I will be back. Wife had the Swimming Eagle veggie dish with peanut sauce. She had the same experience and she definitely wants to come back. I had a couple bites and agree. This is an Asian place and not just a Thai place. The Service was great.

Food was really delicious! Only Thai place I've been that has been the spice that I've been looking for. I asked for the highest stars and got the highest spice in the food. We will definitely be returning customers. Friendly customer service as well and good prices. Also liked the hours.

The food is amazing. Run by the nicest family. We always get treated great. Mai even cones out of the kitchen and says hi every time we visit. She even calls my mom "Mom".😊

Never disappointed with the food or the service. By far the friendliest people of any restaurant in town. Hard to find both 5 star food and 5 star service both togather. 👌

Food is extremely bland. If you've ever been to Thailand or had authentic Thai food elsewhere then you'll be sorely disappointed with the quality and flavor. Had the pad Thai, chicken satay and sweet and sour chicken, everyone agreed it was just so so. The soup tasted cheap, like it was out of a can and the water was definitely unfiltered tap. The menu is a strange mix of southeast Asia cuisine including some Vietnamese dishes. Overall underwhelming, but it's only $6 for the lunch.

Always a great visit, staff is very friendly and portions are fair for the lunch price. My favorite is the BBQ Chicken with fried rice or the Spring Roll Combo. The salad rolls with the made in-house peanut sauce are delicious! Definitely a must try. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area wanting good food and great service for a good price.

The food was good. The prices are great. The service is friendly. They have pho, Thai food and other variants of Asian cuisine. I had the chicken red curry. It was plated, not in a bowl, which is fine by me, but some people prefer a bowl. The people I was with had other cuisine. One had pho and he really enjoyed it. The other had a variant of sweet and sour chicken. The chicken is sliced thin here, so don't be expecting large fried chunks of chicken in any of the dishes. All tasted good though.
