Asian Mixed Plates
Buddha Brudda has been my initial and favorite Hawaiian food experience. I'm in love with the macaroni salad, I always want extra. The servings are large and worth coming back to later for another meal. The food tastes so good. I'll be getting it again soon for sure.
This is a walk up counter - no seating. Not sure if it was an off day, but sadly wasn’t as yummy as I was hoping.
- Banana cream pie: hard, tasteless crust with super gelatinous banana filling. Tastes very artificial and not super appetizing.
- Chicken and pork combo: chicken had good flavor but was dry. Pork was also dry and on the fatty side.
May return to give it another shot.
Very excited that Buddah Bruddah opened in Kirkland in the Kingsgate neighborhood! They offer a variety of Hawaiian-inspired dishes, mixed plates, and also Thai dishes.
Ordered lunch in-person around 1:15pm on a Wednesday, and food was ready within 10 minutes. Both the Huli Huli chicken + beef combo and chicken + Kalua pig combo were excellent and quite filling, even for big eaters like myself and my roommate. Each combo came with rice, Asian slaw, and mac salad. The chili sauces found in the store added extra kick and flavors!
Will definitely return to try other items on the menu. They also sell some Asian groceries, pastries, and beverages. Staff members were friendly and service was quick and efficient!
Update 10/01/22: I have returned many times to try out other items, and each time I feel quite satisfied with the food! The mochiko chicken and kalua pork loco stood out for me.
Been to the one in Kenmore many times, everything has been delicious. The one here in Kirkland is *take-out only*, so be sure to plan accordingly. The Kirkland menu is also slightly larger, with a few Thai dishes in addition to the mainstay Hawaiian fare. Also delicious! Oh, and the _smells_ of it all while they’re cooking up your order — divine.
The only criticism I can think of is the prices — but they’re actually in line with just about all Seattle-area restaurants anymore. Two mains plus two Thai iced teas plus tax and tip came to about ~$70. Mind you, the portions are *huge*, so at least you’re getting two meals out of it.
Was so excited to learn that Buddha Bruddah had opened a location in Kirkland! I used to eat at the food truck location on Republican on Tuesday's.
My wife got the Khalua Pork and I got the Huli Huli Chicken and Spicy Pork Combo. OMG the Huli Huli is to die for! HUGE portions! We both have left overs for lunch tomorrow :)
Great service and delicious food!
If I had to describe the food in one word, that word would be “bland.” We ordered the Kalua pork plate. The pork was flavorless, a bit over cooked, and dry. The mac salad had just enough mayo that it wasn’t just a pile of elbows. Not sure what that cold slaw was, but it was not good. Only thing that was decent was the white rice. Won’t be back to this location.
Quality has gone severely downhill with new employees none of which I recognized from before
Kaluha pork was half fat the slaw was flavorless and had giant pieces of cabbage core and portion sizes are definitely smaller making it not worth 20 bucks like it used to be
Lack of quality control means I will no longer be a customer at any of these franchise locations and the brand is tainted in my mind
Such a great find! Comfort food in large proportions. Very tailored to take out and the staff is very friendly.

Great Hawaiian food. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Wonderful food- delicious, large quantity, and fairly priced. Very friendly customer service and they go above and beyond to accommodate customer requests
Had them cater my wedding reception and MAN they do such a good job!!
So delicious and professional.
10/10 !!!

Updated 2024, sadly the food quality here has dropped and so has the service. I usually order the chicken at this location, the food is always ready in under 5 minutes which I appreciate but last couple times it has been almost cold, also the mac is pretty bland and bad. the food safety rating for this place has dropped. I think I'll have to take a break from this place till they improve back to the original quality when they first opened.

Great food and very friendly people at the counter too.
Spice level tends to be on the higher end - medium is quite spicy
The food is DELICIOUS!! The employees were very friendly. I will go back again.
Fast service and delicious food. We have been loyal customers for two years now and never disappointed. Don’t forget to try chili 🌶️ oil and amazing desserts. Super yummy.

Second review update:
Decided to give them another shot since the owner replied to my review
This place will forever lose my business I don’t care if the food is good or not what annoys me is the tip setting they have set for square pay when ordering off their website
It is default to 20 percent and there isn’t a “no tip” option you must go to custom and type in zero to remove the tip that is already added to the order
This is scummy technique to get more money from people who order online quickly instead of paying their employees properly
Why do I have to tip just to pickup my own food!?
This is not even a sit down location it’s literally standing room only what service am I tipping for?!
First review:
Haven’t ordered in a couple months and the last time the used to have paper boxes instead of plastic but the food doesn’t taste the same
The last time I ate the same exact thing but remember so many more flavors now everything seems bland from the slaw to the kaluha pork which had so much fat and tasted flavorless
Seems like an entirely different staff working now so I doubt I will back
No place to sit
Great restaurant chain, never had a bad meal
First visit and the food was great! The portions are large and worth the price. The short ribs were really tasty and the mac salad was so delicious that I should have gotten an additional scoop. I only wish there was a dine-in option because there are no tables/chairs for enjoying a meal at the restaurant but I definitely recommend trying the food!
It was the most delicious chashu pork meals I ever had. The meat was soft and tasty. The owner was so proud to recommend that dish. At the same time, my sister ordered Katchu, and it was really delicious as well. It was our first time to be there, and it was a little bit disappointing that they were only allowed to have to-go order. However, it is worth trying their foods definitely.
Got several meals, including the coconut mahi mahi.
I think they need to check the fish because it was very off. Tasted terrible and ended up sick from it. Going to avoid it in the future.
Everyone else's dishes were fine, mine was the only one that was off and got ill from.
I really love this place still, but I'm really bummed they removed my favorite item, the fried tenders. Not sure what happened. I probably won't be coming here as much, it was seriously the best fried chicken in the area.
Nice bodega style location offering large portions of sweet and salty faire. No indoor seating.
I ordered take out Chiken pad Thai, It doesn’t taste nothing like chiken pad Thai! I don’t know what it was! Waste of food I could barely eat it, so it went straight to trash. Chiken looked like someone chewed it. Disgusting!
I got the Hawaiian beef. It was just ok. I didn't really stand out in flavor to me. As for the sides, I had the slaw and Mac salad. The Mac salad is way too fatty, in my opinion. It seems like there is way too much mayo in it. The slaw was very plain as well.
Used to ordering in the Kenmore location. But tried out this location instead.
The chicken is all breading and dry. So dry it makes drywall look like a wet dog. I think the sauce was used? Maybe? Mac salad was very different than all other locations. It tastes like mayo and noodles And that's all.
Hard pass if you can avoid.
Great place, have you thought about including Cabbage in with Kalua pork?
Wondering if you consider offering Masube
The chicken was very good and I liked the different sauces. But don't order the garlic shrimp.... it was so flavorless that I couldn't finish it. Zero seasoning and barely a hint of garlic which is disappointing because I had a craving for it.
Ordered delivery. It’s really good stuff and a lot of food. Very solid.
This place is usually good so I decided to try the Pad Thai for the first time. Bam! Best pad Thai I ever had. Wow. Bravo.
Food was great! I got the kalua pork with mac, rice, and coleslaw. Don't forget to check out their spicy sauces!
Wow, they run a tight ship over there. It's one of the most impressive low-cost establishment I've seen on the east side. The place is super clean and super organized really at an unseen level. Maybe the person running the place was in the military, I mean, that kind of organized. The food is amazing. We tried the stir fry tofu, and the combo with chicken and beef and it was delicious. Extremely courteous and friendly service. We'll be back for more and more and more.
We ordered the Family meal for a boat birthday party. Food was awesome, everybody loved it ! Portions were plenty, we had tons of leftovers. Will order again for sure !
We ordered tray catering for a casual wedding reception and everyone loved it. Kalua pork sliders, huli huli chicken, mac salad, and the basil fried chicken (which was the most popular). Trays were ready on time, plenty of sauce provided. Would definitely order again.
Holy Cow this place is awesome!
The beef and chicken combo was flavorful and delicious! Just the right amount of rice!
Make me want to open one back home. Nothing quite like it!
Delicious food. Huge portions. Good gluten free options. Friendly service.
Delicious. Makes me miss the Big Island. Will definitely be coming back. Very good food and good price as well.
Really good and super fast. I enjoyed the huli chicken and teriyaki beef. I love Hawaiian plate lunch so I gotta give it 5 stars
The food here is amazing. We often buy the family meal which is plenty of food for my family of four to have a lovely dinner as well as leftovers for lunch the next day. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
Food was amazing! Mochiko chicken was delicious! Staff was super nice and friendly!! Definitely going to visit again! I must try all of their options!!
We used Buddha Bruddah catering for our wedding and it was so fabulous!! They were the kindest, most organized people! The presentation was beautiful, they even coordinated table decor with our wedding decor. We kept getting compliments on the food! If you need any catering done, especially for a wedding, I wouldn't look anywhere else!!
Delicious food prepared fresh. Lots of options and special sauces to add even more flavor to whatever you choose.
This is my new favorite place. I was so inspired by their noodles I literally took a trip to Hawaii so I could have mix plate in the mix plate heartland. Mahalo!
Most delicious food ever. Must try
Delicious! Portion sizes are huge!
Ok, if you haven’t tried this place yet now is the time. It’s my new favorite takeout spot. Consistently delicious! Huli Huli chicken, rice, coleslaw, and Mac salad in one bite is heaven.
So excited to see this in Kirkland! Loved their Kailua pork and pad Thai, super flavorful and delicious! Can't wait to try their other items. Compostable containers are a big plus
Hella gud
The food is good. Kind of a mix of Hawaiian and Japanese. Different but good and quality! Prices are decent too. Worth a try!
Nice place, friendly staff, good portion size.
Amazing food, always fresh, great price and portions.

Delicious Kalua pork and Huli Huli chicken.
Get your local on. This restaurant is close to eating food of Hawai'i. Friendly owners and great choices.
I've only ordered from one of their trucks. Excellent take on some Hawaiian staples. Huli Huli Chicken is da bomb. Kalua pork, grilled beef, grilled pork, all broke da mouth!
Delicious!
Incred! Have to get the pork and the fried chicken and so much more! Such an amazing experience with the friendliest staff and owner. I have some odd allergies that makes it hard to find food out and they helped find what I could and couldn’t eat! Highly recommend this place!
Spicy pork, mac salad and slaw - as good as the first time I had it off your food truck. Love it - thanks for making dinner and welcome to our humble little neighborhood.
Great food, awesome staff. Everything is made fresh to order. Take out only at Kingsgate location.
Just had the planko Mahi Mahi. Wonderful plate!
The food is so so good! I only wish they were open Monday and Tuesday so I didn’t have to wait so long to omnomnom!
I love the Pad Thai at this restaurant. They are one of the only places I’ve been able to find in the greater Seattle area that has Pad Thai similar to how they make it in Thailand and the only place I’ve ever found here that has Prik Nam Pla!
Good food in Kingsgate area. Love the additional variety and the volume. Portions are good to me as I always feel full...so it is taking me a while to make it through menu
The staff here are just the loveliest human beings you'll ever meet. The food is delish and they even have a little store for staple asian/pacific groceries! We imagine we'll be here a lot
I am a local to this area and was very excited about this restaurant to open and finally tried it today. I got the family bundle for $50 with the huli chicken and kalua pork. The food was alright. The mac has a bitter taste as well as the slaw dressing. The taste was definitely off. The chicken just tasted like regular chicken teriyaki. The best dish was the kalua pork, but honestly for the price and taste, L&L Hawaiian chain restaurants tastes much better and has more flavor. The bitter slaw dressing and the bitter mac really threw off my taste buds. Also, all the side sauces they had out were not tasty- I grabbed one of each of them and they were super salty with no distinct flavor. Disappointing. I probably would not eat here again.

Great service and delicious food!
Absolutely fantastic Hawaiian food and service! Ready much faster than estimated wait. Only thing is I wish online ordering had an option to remove chili flakes from dishes like the pad Thai, it was a little too spicy for 1 star but still tasted amazing. Other than that 10/10 experience! Highly highly recommend! Will be ordering again!!
We’ve been anxiously waiting for the Kirkland location to open! The food was amazing and the staff are super friendly! We will definitely be repeat customers!
The food was ready sooner than the estimate and tasted amazing! We had Kalua Pork and Huli Chicken with Rice and Mac Salad. They serve large portions, so we will have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
Phad Thai is the best. Thanks Mark. Frank and Ann would be proud.
Just dined at the Kenmore location. Staff was awesome and the food is amazing. The kalua pork and coconut cream pie was on point.
