I’ve been coming to this restaurant since 2018. The restaurant interior is not very bright, however, very colorful. I’ve ordered Pad See Ew, Thai fried rice, Thai iced tea and crispy garlic chicken. Everything I have tried were all delicious and flavorful. Service has been great and prompt.

I order from here at least once a week. Easy to use their online order form and go pick it up. I typically order panang chicken curry and it's great. Also often order pad kee mao (drunken noodles) which are also very good. It's better at this dishes than several other locations in the area and is close to my work so I can pick up easily. Dined in a few times and it's nice enough inside too.

We love Basil Thai. Get take-out from here 2-3 times a month and never disappointed. Crab Delight and Pad See Ew are our go-tos but everything is really good.

11/2024 Update:
Prices have gone up so much in the last 2 years and quality seems to have dropped. The last 3 times quality has been hit or miss. Food has an odd taste and portions have gotten smaller. Also seems to be a huge difference between lunch and dinner in terms of flavor. A 3* at lunch isnt hot at all but at dinner time itll make me sweat a bit. Maybe different cooks through out the day? The food is good but id love some consistency. Still not sure whats been missing thats left the pad thai tasting weird but i miss the old version.

Had to call back the restaurant to double check if I ordered from the lunch menu coz the portion is a kids portion for a dinner price as shown in pic. She said they haven't changed their portions at all yet I've been buying from them for 4 yrs. Disappointed!

We've only ever ordered from here through DoorDash, but the good has always been excellent, never had any issues with it, and left is always wanting more. So sad it's not on DoorDash anymore, but we'll definitely be by to dine in!

We had dinner there tonight (forgot my phone) presentation matched the flavors of our delicious Entrees. We will be back!

Ordered panang chicken and it barely had anything in the sauce. About 3 small slices of each bell pepper and barely any chicken. I will save the sauce and make my own ingredients so thanks for the $15 sauce:/

Good food. Ordered 2 dishes one curry and the other bbq. Why put the curry in a plastic container but not the bbq beef? Put both in a plastic container so my meal doesn't spill all over the place.

I love this spot it's always clean it's quite vibes are super chill and laid back the woman and the young lady's who work front counter have great customer service and plug you with great size portions of food for a great price best in Washington besides grandma girls in Kent...if you can always tip I faithfully come here lol

We used to order here and eat here once in a while... It's been a year or so since we tried it again. Man, has the quality of this place gone down. We walked into an empty place and no one comes out. We had to call out towards the kitchen. The waitress then informs us they don't have flat noodles that day, half ushering us back out the door. We said it was fine and ordered... We had the thai beef soup (so salty) and chicken pad thai (overrun by sauce and no real flavor). The only good thing was the thai tea. The presentation of the food itself was unappetizing. It looked like slop plopped onto the plate. It used to be good but definitely no effort into its foods or restaurant. We won't be returning here again.

It felt like we were still in the middle of Covid... food was quite good. Hubby had chrispy garlic chicken 3 star, and it was extremely spicy. My spicy beef was very mild as a comparison. Food was good, none the less.

I’ve gone here multiple times and love it!

The food here is always well prepared and very flavorful. I have ordered multiple types of curry, but my favorite to get is the panang curry. The portions are generous and the consistency of the curry is perfect (it isn’t too thick or thin, so it is soaked up by the rice well without having too much rice or curry left over to achieve this balance). I’ve also ordered the spring rolls and would definitely recommend them.

After trying here, it’s become one of my favorites if I’m craving Thai food.

I have yet to eat inside, but the dining area is well decorated. I always order carry out, and love seeing the layout and decor. It feels cozy inside with cushioned seating and warm toned decor. The counter for the register as well as for fresh food to be set out is wide at the center of the restaurant and we’ll organized. It’s never been too busy inside, but it makes it nice and quiet when I visit.

The food is also always prepared pretty quickly for takeout and hot/fresh.

Pleasantly surprised. I had eaten at Thai Bistro in federal way earlier this week which was disappointing and americanized. This is the real deal. The waitress was friendy and smiley. The food was good. My pad Thai 5 star was actually spicy. Two entrees + Thai tea for $38. I'm LOL at the reviews about the tofu, they use fried tofu, it's supposed to look like that. If you want authentic this is it.

Not great, but not the worst either. The Panang Curry was decent, but everything else was subpar.

Lunch specials were served in flat bottom boxes, so the sauces ran everywhere, making the fried stuff get soggy.

Pineapple Fried Rice was awful, no exaggeration. It had that distinct old-fryer-oil taste, mixed with strong fishy notes. Note that it was the Chicken version, and this was not the good fishy notes. We threw this out.

Cashew Chicken was bland. My first thought was 'generic Chinese takeout'. If the price were lower it'd be kind of ok, just add flavor with sauces.

Garlic Chicken was ok.

I would suggest not going, but if you do, stick with the curries. If I had only gotten the Panang I'd have a better review, but it was all downhill from that dish.

Picked up a doordash order about 8 minutes before closing. Asked to use the restroom before I took the order to their customer. The man at the front desk was insanely rude. 😳 closing in 8 minutes so cannot use the restroom for 2. I'll never be a customer here because of the poor way I was treated. There are PLENTY of other Thai options where the people are actually nice. Even the poor girl working there couldn't believe he told me no the way he did. Give your business to kind people who actually deserve it.

Great chicken pad thai! We have been trying multiple locations and this one was top 3. We grabbed food to go and the service was great.

Look at this old tofu they gave us. Terrible and nasty. No flavor and disgusting. Plus no veggies in our bland curry. First and last time going.

The Tom Yum soup was watered down and full of overcooked chicken. The pad Thai was also overcooked and salty. No bean sprouts no lime nothing for garnish. Why? I placed an online order for two, received an email confirmation, drove ten miles to pick up the order only to find out they closed earlier then store hours and could not receive my order. Called the restaurant and they said I would not be charged but they charged my card anyway. When I called back again the day after that to see if I could still get my order they would not make it and called me back to tell me I had to wait two weeks for a refund and if I didn’t get it to then call back again. WOW I will never eat here again and I encourage everyone else to not eat here either. The food is not good and the service sucks!

Probably the worst tofu and red curry I’ve ever had.

We ordered via Uber Eats. The sampler for $14.95 was not worth it to us. The only decent item was the calamari rings. Chicken “Satay” were 2 under seasoned dry pieces of thinly sliced chicken. The pad Thai was lacking, barely any vegetable and sugary sweet. The portion for their Hot Summer was rather small vs what we get for the same price at another Thai place close by. Did we eat it? Yes. Will we again? No.

best tom kha ever!! I got takeout here for the first time and the atmosphere is really nice, the people working there were super kind and helpful, and the prices are honestly so good!! they have plenty of vegetarian options and the spice levels are accurate. as I said, the tom kha was absolutely amazing. perfect balance of sweet/sour/spicy and the portion is very generous. and the wait time was also pretty quick for dinner time. this place is definitely one of my favorites now!

Pros : Definitely will be back. I found the food really good but I wish my curry had more vegetables as noted on the menu. Food came out pretty quickly too. I highly recommend the garlic wings.

Cons: The seating at the booths is uncomfortable so I suggest getting a regular table with chairs or maybe even just getting takeout. They also didn't have all the fixings at the table that other thai places offer.

Went there for the first time today and won't ever go back. The portions were RIDICULOUSLY small but the price wasn't. I ordered the crispy ginger chicken for $13.50 and literally got like 8 small chunks of chicken. Everyone I was with experienced the same thing..toddler like portions.

We get food from Thian Thai often, but I wanted to try something new. I tried the mango fried rice and it is so good! Chicken, prawns, some veggies... The flavor of the rice is so amazing. Highly recommend it.

Meh...Stopped in for takeout and it was not what I am used to in Thai cooking. Tom Kha was okay but, Tom Yum smelled really fishy. Could not eat it and not many veges, mainly broth. No mushrooms as advertised in either soup. The veges that were in there were huge, not cut up to eating size, so I had to...did not order the meat versions but vegetable choice. Very Disappointed...also, a child running around without a mask in the background. Obviously a family member. Not professional or compliant with state regulations.

Thai Basil was our favorite for many years going back to when the owner Em worked the floor. The last two times we have ordered we have been very displeased with the service. We placed an order a few weeks ago and was told the wait would be 20 minutes, it ended up being 40 minutes. Last Friday I placed an order and was told it would be 20 minutes. When I went in to get the order they could not find the order!!! I was told it would take an hour for the one small order! We are done... we sure miss Em.

First time ordering from this place and the whole family were disappointed. Everything was so salty and the pork meat tasted weird. Not enough veggies and just very salty for Asian people.. Will never go here again.

I love Thai food! This place has some ok dishes, the curry is more of a soup than curry but overall id say the food is good! Of the 3 places near me, I’d prefer the other two before coming back here. I will be back only in a pinch if my go to Thai restaurants are not open?

Excellent food! Tastes fabulous!!! Great portions. We have always ordered thru uber eats and have never been disappointed!!! A mistake was made with the chicken I ordered to Tofu. I'm now happy I was able to try it! It was great!!! They made it right by us and I will make sure we order from them again!!!! I will even order Tofu again!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Worst experience at a Thai restaurant. I was sat in a corner of the restaurant and noticed everyone else being sat on the other side of the restaurant. I ordered the wonton soup it immediately made me gag from the weird smell. Tasted even worse. I immediately told the waitress I couldn’t eat it and wanted to order something else her attitude changed. I sat for almost an hour watching everyone get served before me. They had the nerve to still charge for that nasty food. Definitely will not be returning ever.

Worst Tom Yum soup.

This was only my second time stopping here, but I love the fact that they have multiple avenues to order online.
The restaurant wasn't that busy, but they did get a consistent flow of people stopping in to pick-up online orders.

I ordered the pad see ew and it was disgusting. The noodles were gigantic and super chewy. There wasn't any sauce on my food. Everything was super dry and didnt have any flavor. Super disappointing & a waste of money.

I saw a Thai restaurant opened nearby so I decided to try it. The portions were generously large and pad thai was overall good but a little on the extra bean sprouts. They were kind enough to deliver my food to me as I was a couple of doors down from them. I would recommend you try this location.

I wentice for lunch and it was completely empty. The food was bland and runny. The server sat on her butt behind the counter and never ONCE came to see how we were doing or if we needed water refills, which we did. This is the 3rd and final time I have tried this place. I will not be a return customer. I am disappointed because it is so close to home.

Big Thai taste in little town. I love their Crispy Garlic Chicken, very good other than the fact your breath smells like garlic after eating it. I'm married so I really have no one to impress, she ate some too. The Panang Chicken Curry is very coconut creamy. Its legit, in fact, too legit to quit. I ended up eatin the whole thing. I love it long time in my mouth. This is the best Thai food in town. We did 2 spicey out of 5. I like it hot, the wifey likes it hot everywhere else other than in her mouth.

My first meal after fasting for 11 days straight because I fell ill and spent the night in the emergency room.

We stopped here on our way home from the hospital because I really wanted some Pho but we couldn't find a Vietnamese place. The did have soup so I opted for the Thai beef noodle soup to go with an order of gyoza. My wife had a meat and vegetable dish, I can't remember which one sorry and she ordered it at a level 3 spicy. She said that it wasn't spicy at all and my soup was very very bland with hardly any flavor. You would think that after not eating any food for 11 days that almost anything would taste great but not in this case. The gyoza was good however and the dipping sauce they gave me was probably the best part of the whole meal.

We got our food to go I can't attest to the actual restaurant and my wife just ran in and got the food so I'm not sure about the staff either. There were no complaints about them from my wife so I'll go out on a limb and say that the service was decent. I doubt that I'll ever go back and eat a meal inside now that I know how bland the food is. It's pretty far out of the way so as a traveler, you probably wouldn't even be near this place unless say, relatives of yours that you might happen to be staying with on your journey live nearby. I definitely wouldn't make it a point to seek this place out just for a meal on your vacation.

One of the owners of Basil Thai contacted me both here on Yelp and on Facebook. (Nearly every review I post goes out in triplicate to Yelp, Trip Advisor and Facebook). She was apologetic about the flavor of our food and offered us a refund and asked us to let her cook for us again. As a customer, I really respect this and admire her courage to reach out. I declined the offer for a refund as I did eat the food but I wrote back and told her that I will make it a point to give Basil Thai another try and that I will ask for her and introduce myself so that she knows who I am. The other reviews from Yelpers are really good so maybe my tastes are just vastly different. Either way, they have earned another visit from me and I will share again after I make that happen. I went there for the first time and they forgot my cucumber salad. I called and let her know that she forgot so she said next time I come in just let know. 3/19 I ordered again and mentioned. My cucumber salad she remembered who i was. so i pick up my food. And cucumber salad come home and open the salad and literally 2 spoon fulls of salad talk about being ripped off. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I would give it a zero star rating. If i could.

Dropped in just after they opened. Good service, food was excellent. I'm no expert on Thai food or authentic thai, but their dishes had excellent flavor. The old standard Pad Thai noodles were not too sticky (some places it comes out as large lump....) and perfectly firm. The curry was tasty.
