Crab fried rice is delicious and gives the feeling of eating it in Thailand. Every grain of fried rice is fragrant.

The food is pretty good. I came many times. My fav is TomYum, YumWoonSen, and Pad Thai. This is the best Thai food in my heart. However, the owner was so friendly and hospitable. 🫶

I strongly recommend the Dek Thai Restaurant! It was the first time we ate at this restaurant (October 2024). We wanted to try something new, we parked along 152nd, and Dek Thai was located directly in front of our parking spot. We walked into the restaurant, and it was super clean, with some seasonal Fall decorations. Upon entering, we were welcomed by super friendly staff that seated us quickly in a booth. After a few minutes, we ordered the spring rolls with tofu and peanut sauce as a starter, as well as the mango fried rice with chicken and spicy basil duck as our entrees. The spring rolls came out first as expected, the veggies in the rolls seemed fresh, and the rolls and peanut sauce were delicious. A few minutes after we finished our rolls, the entrees arrived, and the mango fried rice tasted great - it was a good temperature and had a perfect combination of mango and spice. The basil duck was also great - the duck was prepared really well and the sauce was yummy! Besides the food, I especially appreciated that the multiple staff that waited on us were super attentive and friendly throughout our visit. After paying the bill, I felt that we got a great deal! We will absolutely visit Dek Thai again in the future, and suggest others do the same.

Still a stunner!! They’ve made some awesome upgrades with the decor and music and especially the menu. The dishes come plated very nicely. Service is splendid; the owners and staff couldn’t be nicer. Food and Thai iced tea was delicious as always.

We were planning on going to a different restaurant on the Downtown Burien strip, stumbled across Dek Thai, and decided to check it out instead. Boy, am I glad we did! The food was delicious and incredibly fresh, the flavors were perfect, the atmosphere was simple and peaceful, and the service was charming. Definitely highly recommended 10/10

Took a while to for someone to come over and take our drink order even though there was only one other couple in on a week night. But once they came it was all fast and good. The spice level is def higher than most places. A 2 out of 5 was pretty spicy. Appetizer sampler was a good call!

If you want AMAZING Thai food, this is the place for you! The portion sizes are very generous, delicious, and plated very nicely with color and attention to details. This time around we had the coconut shrimp and crispy garlic chicken. I keep coming back for more or to try something different.

Spicy levels aren’t very consistent. My wife and I each got two stars for our entrees and mine was insanely spicy, to the point I gave up half way through. Her’s was great though!

A door dash delivery driver, who was a person of color came to pick up an order here. After the employee at the restaurant handed it to him and confirmed the pick up order, her and her co worker ran out after him, put their hands on him, in an attempt to take the order back, accusing him of stealing it. Absurd and disgusting behavior by these two employees!

I love Thai food. Kao Soi soup is the bomb here. Lovely people and everything ive had here was fresh and full of flavor.

Basil crispy chicken is excellent, as is the pad Thai. Sticky rice is also amazing if you like Asian desserts.

My husband and I have eaten here twice now, first dine in then takeout. Food is always fresh, delicious, and spiced to our liking. The service is fast and friendly which is always a plus. This is quickly becoming one of our go-to places.

Cheap scammers. Got garlic chicken delivered. Half the pieces in this underwhelmingly small portion are just fried batter with zero chicken inside. Taste is mid at best.

Worst Thai restaurant I’ve ever been. For around $18 you expect a decent pad Thai, but what I got was instead a soup of noodles soaking wet in sweet sauce. I will definitely never come back to this place. I could only eat some bites of this and I gave up.

BAD ADDITUDE over the wrong order. This is the 1st time I've had a bad experience with this restaurant. I always phone in my usual order. When I went to pick up my order it was wrong.

The Turkish man got very rude with me and turned it around that it was my fault. He said it's my English over the phone. I've never seen this Turkish man before.

He was very pushy, aggressive and stared at me with angry eyes. This is how "some" middle eastern men act towards women, by bullying them. I told him I won't accept that attitude and won't be back. Neither will my family and friends.

The other Turkish man, I believe the owner, and older Thai man are very sweet and they understand me just fine.

Just moved to the area and was sad to leave behind my old neighborhood favorites. We ordered from a few different okay Thai restaurants in the area and finally found Dek Thai.

The food in spot on, even when delivered. I went in one day to pick up… and found out they’re the sister restaurant of my old favorite Thai spot in Wallingford (Djans). So happy to have them in Burien!!!

The food was bland and the papaya salad just taste like fish sauce, the food took 35 minutes to come. The price is overpriced with small servings and the chicken was not it, not worth ur time would definitely not come again.

The owner (elderly woman) seated two white women yet refused to let a person of color to dine in. She yelled angrily "take out only!" as soon as he walked in. What an ignorant and shameful act !!

By the way, her business partner (a gentleman) did apologize for her racist behavior repeatedly. Good for him.

We never go back there after a few unpleasant visits. You can keep your food and bad attitudes to yourself and keep celebrating your eldly server's negativity. We keep our money and go somewhere else.

2/25/2024. Silly us, we went there again to see if their service has improved today. As soon as we walked in and asked the young server (a white guy) whether our order comes with rice. He yelled: "No, and your wait time would be 1 hour if you place an order. Your restaurant is hopeless if you keep using rude servers. We will never come back agian.

i ordered take out- phad thai noodles with chicken. i requested extra limes. they charged me 1.50 for two
pieces of line. each piece was an eighth of the line. the noodles were average at best. the fresh sprouts were sparse and not fresh. not a good place to eat. i won’t be going back and do NOT recommend this restaurant

My Second time trying tai food and i must say this place was good, it definitely could have used more vegetables. Other than that this place is good.

My dish, a noodle/veg meal, was very large and pleasant. Nothing knockout but a lot of it. My friend ordered a green curry. My dish arrived after about 10 minutes. The server didn't bring us plates. After another 10 minutes I asked him for plates and my friend still hadn't gotten her meal. I managed to grab his attention and he confessed that they had not made her meal vegetarian and were making it over again. It would have been nice of them to tell us rather than her waiting 20 minutes while I nibbled on my meal. It also would have been friendly to bring out something for her to snack on or to take a little bit off the bill since she waited really a very long time for her meal.
I think they had only one server working and a million to-go orders flooding in.
At least it was fairly quiet with pleasant background music.

Take out, picked up in store. fresh summer rolls and chicken pad thai. The guy said 10 min, it was 20. He didn't give me anyb eating utensils or napkins which was after i had paid and tipped. Pad thai was swimming in peanut sauce. Spring rolls were ok. I wouldn't eat here again done in our take out.i prefer thai or vietnamese food 2x/wk. This was not worth $33 :).

What a find! We ordered Rama noodles with pork. It was fantastic. There were lots of delicious veggies and pork. The flavors were awesome! The yellow curry with tofu was yummy!

Service was so slow, server was very rude. food was very good but the service was terrible, my colleagues and I went to lunch and after 20 or 25 minutes the waitress offered us something to drink, when it was time to order she told us that she would not sell us lunch, only appetizers, I asked for spicy sauce and in a very bad way she brought me in, we asked her for separate checks and she told us no, she wouldn't do it, it would only be one check, it's a shame that these people don't care about maintaining their clients, there were no people and even then she wasn't friendly nor the service was good, terrible service

Dek thai has burnt me way too many times on long wait times that are inaccurately quoted. Tonight the front of house person isn’t even greeting guests. Orders are being cooked 1 at a time at a painfully slow pace. 7 people are sitting in a silent restaurant waiting for their name to be called by a cranky lady who won’t greet guests. I get that most of their business is to-go but what if someone wanted to dine in?! Terrible TERRIBLE service.

We love Thai food. This was our first time in, and we really wanted it to be spectacular and our go-to place when dining out for Thai. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment.

My wife's meal was forgotten somehow, and arrived incomplete a good ten minutes after my dinner. I'm not in the habit of eating without my wife, so I waited. By the time the chicken arrived for my wife's dinner a few minutes after that, my dinner had gone cold.

I shouldn't have said anything, but I did and my dinner was taken back and microwaved. When we finally started eating the seafood in my dish was tough and chewy, especially the calamari. Likely from the microwave.

The whole experience was disappointing.

This place is generally good, ordered to go from them several times and nothing usually wrong with our order but yesterday we ordered and I’m not sure if it was maybe something else, but my stomache didn’t feel too good after eating the meal . On top of that found a whole sticker on the bell peppers in one of our entrees. The cashew chicken. This just goes to show that they don’t wash their produce 🥴😬

Unfortunately, all the reviews about the customer service are true. The lady is SO rude, never gives you what you ask for and is always yelling if you ask to make a change of order. I've gone 3 times because I work near by and this Friday she was so mad that I was paying with cash and she was yelling about it. Every time I come she has an attitude. The food is always good but it'd be great if I was allowed to customize my order the way I want it.

The food is good, but i went here in the afternoon and the woman who took our order (an old aged asian woman) wasn't kind at all, she threw the menus in our desk and that was disgusting, she told me that she had online orders and it could take like 1 hour, that's too much for a online order. Despite of that, i didn't like how she took our orders so probably im not coming back again

I was refused service.

I went into an empty restaurant at 6:15 pm and was told by the server that she was too busy to serve just one person. Again, the restaurant was empty and it was during business hours.

The food is amazing. Ordered to go, they vented the boxes for fried food!

Sadly would not recommend this place. So sad to hear all the reviews saying negative things about this place but, honestly they are well deserved. I got the garlic chicken and my partner got pad see ew. You could CLEARLY tell it was microwaved and my chicken was coated in many sugary layers (1 to 5 chicken to sugar ratio) and gross. The atmosphere was also so dreary. I wanted to support a small business but, you have to put effort. Looking for a good Thai place? I’d recommend simply Thai in the Southcenter area and Ban SomTum in federal way.

Mango Red Curry is AMAZING!!! They do a lot of take-out. So it must be good to go. Service is great. I haven’t had an empty glass yet. I have eaten here twice now. Very consistent both times. Very clean! Wide variety on the menu. I will be back. Daniel is a great server who made some excellent recommendations tonight!

Even though I have my favorite Thai restaurant to go to, I always give another Thai restaurants a tryout and support my fellow Thai!  Yesterday we went to DekThai in Burien. Our food was served on a fresh banana leaf lined aluminum plate....not sure if that was a good idea and here is why.
1. It is not sanitary
2. When hot cooked food is placed directly onto a fresh banana leaf it changes the aroma and taste of that particular dish.

I ordered "Pad Woo Sen", it was okay but it would have been better if I couldn't taste the banana leaf. My husband's dish was "Swimming Angel".  The chicken was cooked however the mixed vegetables were cold and under cooked. Be careful if you are immunocompromised.

I ordered the pad thai, mango sticky rice, and garlic chicken wings. the pad thai and sticky rice were on point! the spice level was perfect. The noodles we not dry but also not drowning in sauce. the mango was perfectly ripe and the food was hot. they lost a star because the chicken garlic wings were not good at all. did not taste like garlic and had a wierd batter.

Dek has become our favorite local Thai takeout restaurant after inconsistencies with many others in the area. Great prices, portions, freshness and friendliness.

I typically order their Tom Yum or Tom Kha and it's consistently delicious every time! Fresh and flavorful. Looking forward to trying other menu items.

The curry dishes do not come with rice! For $15.50, they should come with rice. Never in my life have I had to order rice separately. Was so upset to get my Grubhub order to discover no rice came with my green curry.

This was my original post from years ago, this place now has new management and I never thought it could happen but they are BETTER. There is this Dek Thai Fusion noodle dish that they added that is just so damn good.

Food just wasn't right, it's missing any Thai flavors. Also, they charged A LOT for brown rice and gave me barely any rice, not enough for half the entree. I asked for more, and at the end she said she didn't charge me for the extra rice. So, 3.50 for less rice than I could put in the palm of my hand is their standard. Lastly, the prik nam pla isn't prik nam pla. It tasted like vinegar and sugar water, super strange. Sadly, new ownership hasn't improved the place. Won't be dinning at again.

I’ve come here many times now (and ordered online), the food (and Thai coffees!) are always super tasty and pair well with the calm atmosphere of the restaurant. The owner is really friendly, every interaction has been welcoming and pleasant by him. Wide variety of dishes, each super flavorful and good. You can choose the amount of spice as well, if you’re someone who worries about heat. :)
Overall, Dek Thai is lovely, and I will continue coming here :)

Refused to serve us despite being open and advertising dine in. What a waste of time making our way down here after hearing good things about it. We had no place to take takeout without it getting ridiculously cold. I wish they had better service and advertised their opening times better. So disappointing.

The lady owner is extremely racist. Do not eat here unless you are african american and would like to be treated like garbage. The owner does not like african americans and does not like for them to use her restroom unless it is the mens restroom and will purposly and continuously lie about the womens restroom being broken and when confronted about it she would look down and ignore you as if you are not speaking to her.

Ordered lunch for the office and the results were disappointing. The panang curry was watery, flavorless, and they didn't provide rice with the order so I had curry soup for lunch with some tough stringy chicken and very few vegetables. My boss was put off by the sweetness in their wonton soup which is traditionally not a sugary soup.

Ordered from here twice. The first time the food was late, cold, and the portions were weak. The second time the food never showed. There are better Thai options in Burien.

I ordered the fresh vegetable Spring rolls the lady at the counter looked me right in the eye and pulled old Spring rolls out of the fridge. When I went to the car and opened it up it was just completely rotten lettuce. I went back into exchange it and she got upset. She purposely tried to serve me old rotten food. The Spring rolls are see through rice paper, you could see they were rotten just by looking at them. Straight disrespect. I'm never coming back here.

Between the poor quality of food and the actual ordering experience, I am NEVER returning. Having placed my online order at 2:24 pm with the email confirmation stating a 30-min wait, I even arrived late at 3 pm to pay & p/u. Stepping in to the restaurant, the two employees present were eating at a table near the back end. One asked if I wanted to place an order at which point I stated I placed an online order. Both of the employees were confused with one getting up from her meal to check out their ordering system to see that two orders came through -- they were not paying attention. I really should have canceled the order at that point, and yet, I wanted to give them a chance to provide me a delicious, freshly cooked order. Having paid and giving more than a 20% tip as I do believe in supporting local businesses through these trying times, the food left a lot to be desired. I asked for 4-star spicy, more like 2 star. The Pad Thai, I could taste fish sauce but no tamarind which was evident cause those noodles had no color. The jasmine rice was barely warm and the Crispy Garlic Chicken, while it had crispy, fried garlic pieces sprinkled throughout, it reminded of crunchier orange chicken as it was more sweet than garlicky. The worst dish was the Tom Kha -- the chicken pieces were super dry and hard to chew. And the green onion used was nearly expired. My search for a Thai restaurant in/near Burien continues.

2/3 dishes were good, but the satay chicken was raw inside. We tried to contact staff to give them feedback but never got a response back. It’s a shame because I liked their other dishes and like supporting local places, but am not sure I’ll eat here again.

All four employees were wearing their masks as chin straps and approaching customers who were masked and backing away from them. Order was wrong. So disappointed to not be able to support this local business anymore.

We ordered this through uber eats and man this was bad. Maybe it was just a bad night, based on the other reviews.... but to start, the order was “delayed” by well over an hour. I assumed they were just busy. But when the order arrived, it was bad. The pad Thai had *0* flavor, the noodles were all stuck together, and the whole thing just tasted like oil. The pad kee mao (aka drunken noodles) came with the wrong type of noodle (see attached photo) has 0 flavor, again, and the tofu was hard, dry, tasted like oil (and looked like croutons). Overall a terrible experience, took forever, and it was expensive.

Got the crab rangoons which were great, but the mango fried rice with pork was top notch. no shortage of pork or mangos. It was fresh and tasted great, and 1 order weighed like 10 pounds! The panang curry with pork was just as awesome. Theres no shortage of Thai restaurants around Seattle and I've eaten at a lot of them. This place is easily one of the best!

I ordered delivery for the third time yesterday and the pad see ew lacked any flavor beyond the oil it was fried in. The yellow curry had very few potatoes and carrots and was very watery. It had way too much chicken and the chicken was very tough. Past orders have been really good, so I am still giving them three stars. I will order again and if it improves, I will change my rating.

Spring Rolls were the best I've had in quite some time. Price and service was good.

Hospitality was good. The fried tofu was bad however which I didn't expect. It did not taste good, like it had been deep fried, maybe coated in wheat, previously cooked and then reheated? It was shrunken in and thick, just tasted bad. The curry also had not very good flavor or salt. The pad see ew was good though.

Had no expectations...the food was pretty good! Will be ordering from here again. Crispy garlic chicken yummy. Panang curry delish. They are also accommodating when I needed to make a substitution.

I gave 4 stars because the food was delicious and the portions were big and filling. I would've given 5 stars but the food took 45 minutes for a take out order and the restaurant was really cold. So either bundle up or call your order in I suppose 😊

I had the pad thai with tofu and thai ice tea, Wow! Fantastic! The best I've had in a long time.

Food is excellent, but there was a rusty staple in my lunch. I spit it out without injury, but it'll make me question coming back.

Love this place. Even have to order extra for our Snowshoe Siamese cat or he won't let us eat in peace! It's soooooo good! The Thom kha is spot-on!

One of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at outside of Thailand. And the staff are very friendly and the service very good. I got the entree they call "Sweet Basil" with pork and this is what's called Krapow Moo in Thailand. They were happy to top it with a fried egg, which is standard over there but rare here and to me the egg makes the dish. This was the best version I've had locally. Also had green papaya salad (som tam) which had 4 big juicy shrimp and great flavor. Green curry with beef was tasty, phad thai with chicken was good too and not overly sweet like it often can be in Western Thai joints. I'll definitely be back to feed my next Thai food craving.
