I’m usually very reluctant to give a 5/5 for food but this place is a jewel. Mother/Daughter owned authentic hole-in-the-wall Thai place. Their salads made me think of the Thailand street vendors—I’m obsessed with the glass noodle one… shrimp tom yum noodles has a sweetness from coconut milk ,& the best drunken noodles I ever had in NY. Prices are very reasonable $14 a dish. Service was warm and friendly. Cash or Venmo only
The establishment is a very small mom and pop shop with a few tables for indoor dining. They also even sell lottery tickets! You can peer into their “kitchen” which I’m pretty sure is a portable stovetop. The inside has very cute décor. The staff were extremely friendly. They accept cash or venmo only!
We started with a mango slushie (a little watered down and icy) and a Thai iced tea (delicious and creamy).
Pata Yum Gai Zabb (3/5): Sadly, the dish was salty beyond belief! Luckily, mouthfuls of the plain white rice helped to balance the flavor. It was otherwise, also very bland in taste. It just tasted like soy sauce. I was expecting more for a dish considered in the “Michelin Bib Gourmand” recommendation.
Pad Kee Mao (3/5): The noodles were not fully cooked and therefore hard/chewy for most of the dish. I similarly did not think that there was much flavor to it. Beef was not that tender.
Was looking for a cafe to relax while traffic cools down at 5 pm. Found Pata Cafe ideally situated next to L.I.E
Nice cozy Thai cafe serving up good food & hospitality. Felt very welcomed upon entering.
Crispy Thai Spring Rolls came out sizzling with flavor & crunch. Much better than I expected. Thai iced coffee was a big hit also. 🥇🥇
Really nice ambiance but the cafe can only accommodate up to 10 patrons. 2 outdoor bench available to sit during a cool summer breeze.
Prices are reasonable and food is authentic 👍
I recently had the opportunity to try the congee soup at Pata Cafe in Queens, and it was a comforting and flavorful dish. The congee itself was well-cooked, with a creamy texture that melded perfectly with the rice. The shrimp pieces added a fresh and slightly sweet flavor, complementing the rich broth. It had a mild, soothing taste, perfect for a light meal or when you’re craving something warm and hearty.
The fried garlic sprinkled on top gave a nice crunch and aromatic boost, balancing the softness of the rice. Overall, it was a satisfying dish, especially if you're a fan of congee or looking for something comforting to enjoy.
The ambiance of Pata Cafe is cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the mood for some quality Asian comfort food.
I’ve been to Pata Cafe more than 5 times in the year we lived nearby. It’s always run by an older aunt and a younger helper, creating a cozy, familial vibe. My boyfriend and I have some of our fondest memories here.
In the summer, we’d savor a delicious Pad See Ew or drunken noodle, and in the winter, we’d warm up with a spicy green or red curry or Ga Prao KaiDow. We always ordered a bubble tea / Thai tea. Nothing could beat the comfort of these meals.
We’d walk 30 minutes each time to this little gem. Most of the time, we were the only customers. Only the first time did we encounter a full house and had to wait. On another occasion, the older aunt was on vacation, so only curry was served—but even then, it was incredible.
The green curry remains my absolute favorite. Its rich, spicy, and vibrant flavors are unforgettable. In my opinion, they serve the best Thai curry in the town. For drinks, I like Thai tea the most. Very sweet and creamy.
Good Service!

My favorite hole in the wall Thai food in nyc. Run by a lovely and kind mother-daughter team. I’ve been ordering the same Pad Kee Mow every week because it’s so amazing I can’t move on to other things on the menu. But I would say my life will be complete when I am finally ready to try just one more dish here. It’s too good.
Ngl the food was really bad. The cheese smelled really bad and the total was over 16 for a small dish that was poorly seasoned. It tasted like they dropped the seasoning by accident and put way too much. I can’t even finish it because it was so bad. As a person who hates to waste food, I had to throw it away. Very disappointed
Bro the fries here r sooo good

Such an incredible cafe tucked away in a small street just near a school. I had a home renovation job done about 3 blocks away and I would come here EVERYDAY for lunch. I would get the same thing almost everyday. Pad thai with variation in protein. Its cooked to perfection. The spices, seasoning, aromatics are perfectly balanced. The noodle texture is perfect. Large portion for a cheap price. This place is truly the anti-thesis of overly-fancy, marketing based, buzzword, pretentious city eats. Pata Cafe proves that Queens is the true heart of New York City. If you want a welcoming warm attitudes that sees you as a soul, not another customer, then come here for the best south east asian soul food on the east border.

Perfect spot to find Thai home made food. This is my second time here and loved it even more… highly recommended. Will be back soon
Great authentic homemade
Thai food !!!!!
I had the Pata Yum Gai Zabb and a Taro Milk Tea - some of the best Thai food I’ve had here in the city. Reminds me a lot of Thailand. The vibe is very hole-in-the-wall, with a welcoming home-y atmosphere.
I asked for very spicy, and the chef brought out a whole assortment of spicy condiments for me! Totaled to 21.50, would come again.
The green curry was good. Very disappointed by the Pad Se-Ew, it had an odd taste and the beef was tough to chew. I requested utensils with my Uber pickup and utensils were not included and the spring rolls didn’t come with sauce as listed.
I thought it would be a small hidden gem for Thai food in Queens, but disappointed by the food and the service.
Good price good food
Went to Pata Cafe for lunch in Elmhurst, Queens, NY. Looking for authentic Thai? You'll find dishes here that are hard to find in the 🇺🇸. NY Times and Michelin recommended for casual authentic Thai fare.
Had Thai Lychee tea and Yum Woon Sen. Sweet and complex flavor for the tea. Spicy, tangy, earthy, and herby flavors for the dish. Too full for dessert! The wife had the beef soup.
Only seats 12 people max. Cash or Venmo only. Lots of free street parking on a Saturday. Can't wait to go back!
This must be an example of reviews generated by AI or paid for by an overseas reviewer. Worst thai food ever. And I have been in Thailand many times. I don”t think they will last long if they charge such high prices for such terrible food. One thing I know for sure is that I will not come back.
Omg this is incredible, the home made feeling and the flavors!
This cafe is located at the end of a residential block, and I could never think it's a restaurant there. This place looks like a convenience store with rustic art installation. In fact, they do sell lottery tickets here!!
The store has a mosaic wall of scrap wood, an array of objects like you find in a museum that includes buckets, silverware, books, statues of the Buddhas, and some plants.
The food doesn't look like it includes a ton of ingredients but is packed with a punch of flavor. We asked for spicy and we didreceived it, one person at the table wasn't able to handle it, and that one person wasn't me.
This michelin guide restaurant was run by an older lady by herself. We tried 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, and a cold coffee, all of which were amazing. If you are in Queens and want to get some great Thai food in a NYC residential neighborhood, look no further. It's much easier to find street parking here!
Food is great. Dropping a star until they fix their phone number on Google. I feel bad for the guy that got their old number. Poor dude got my calls. I’ll update the rating once the phone number is correct on their site and google.
Best red curry in all of New York City 🙏🏾
Love love love this place. The drunken noodles are honestly out of this world, the service is lovely too🥹 I’m so glad they’re my neighbors!
I can eat 20 dumplings all at once from this place ❤️ Best Thai Place in the neigborhood, very authentic!! Served by two amazing Thai Grandma and probably her daughter. Place is not that big, but you come here for the food and its always worth it!
Thai food in an inconspicuous place and neighbourhood
40.732623 -73.876791 this 10-seat Thai restaurant in a residential area of Elmhurst, Queens became world-famous for its Michelin 2019-2022 Bib Gourmand and a good review in the New York Times. It is not a fancy place but a very practical one-room café and kitchen. No alcohol and no napkins. Restroom is the staff’s restroom. Only cash and Venmo are accepted.
In June 2023, we ordered Ga Prao Kai Dow: spicy beef with bird’s eye chili, holy basil topped with a fried egg and served over jasmine rice. While we were waiting briefly, a man and woman at the next table were telling each other their life stories. Fortunately, the service was quick. The beef with chili was not too hot and tasted excellent. Staff did a good job with limited command of the English language.
Pata Café serves excellent Thai food in an inconspicuous place and neighbourhood. Recommended.
Delicious food
Amazing good, great prices and service!!! 5/5
This place needs more recognition! The food is amazing , the drinks are great! Fun atmosphere. My partner and i are new to the area and this has become our go to place for Thai food!
Decent Thai authentic food with good price. Easily find street parking but no other shops near by.
Great food, great environment, reasonable prices, and always kind folks who work there.
I always get the Thai ice coffee here and it never disappoints
I had the drunken noodles and a large Thai iced tea to share. The noodles were perfectly spiced and delicious! I like that the Thai iced tea wasn't too sweet. The portion sizes were just right and the service was very fast. Totally recommend coming here for a visit, it's not that far of a stroll from the busy Queens Boulevard.
Great staff
Love this place. A must try. Tried most of the menu.
Awesome food
Delicious food and great service. I liked the cozy decor and atmosphere too.
Definitely 5 stars I give this place 😝
The Milk Tea tastes awesome and sells at affordable price, Thai Ice Tea also taste perfect, almost all the beverages they sell have perfect quality.
Man this local shop is hard to find but the food was amazing, and the owners are so nice as well!
Wonderful small, family owned restaurant. Delicious food. I personally recommend the thai iced coffee. Very friendly staff. They accept cash or venmo which is very convenient.
Horrible. Horrible
BEST THAI FOOD AROUND
Family business at best. Friendly, clean and fast service. Delicious as expected.
Just had the pad see ew with beef. Literally one of the best meals I’ve had. Randomly drove past and I’m glad I stopped here for dinner!
Sorry , but to pricy and rise was over cook and place smelly 👎
Food and service were great.
Omg the food here is sooo yummmyyy. Pad Garlic and Pad Prik are my favorites.
Small but delicious Thai restaurant. Not many seats and tables inside so it's better as a takeout spot.
Found in a nondescript residential neighborhood in Queens, this place serves delicious Thai food cooked by a talented chef/cook. They make do with the space they have and they add flavor to an otherwise bland part of Queens.
The older lady was so cute taking care of us make sure our meal was good for us. She made everything fresh. Everything was delicious
Great Thai spot
Such good Thai food! Definitely worth the visit!
This café is a tiny space of about four tables with fun, quirky décor. There’s a definite relaxed, casual vibe here. On the walls are lots of reclaimed wood, everyday Thai objects and twinkling lights. The tables aren’t quite level but who cares! All this along with the very personable staff adds to the overall warmth of the place.
The food is great; best of what Thai home cooking is like. It’s amazing to me that all the yummy food comes out of this tiny kitchen behind the counter.
During our visit here we ordered the Basil Fried Rice, Thai Chicken Wings, Beef Pad Thai and the Chicken Sate appetizers.
The Pad Thai was lighter in color, less sweet and less oily than what I’m used to. Nevertheless, this was quite tasty. The Basil Fried Rice was another delicious dish. It was more on the mild side and had only a tiny bit of a kick. And the Chicken Sate was delicious!! I only wished I ordered two! It had a nice grilled meat aroma and was very tender. This was by far my favorite dish during this visit. The Thai chicken wings were okay. They were really just fried chicken wings with the sweet and sour dipping sauce.
For drinks, we got a mango slush and a strawberry slush. Both were a little too sugary for me but was okay. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice. This was a nice way to end the meal with. The mangoes were perfectly ripe, and I liked that they give you the full mango (minus the pit). At some restaurants I’ve been to, they only give you half of the mango. They paired this with purple sticky rice. The rice was soaked in coconut milk. And the color contrast with the very ripe mangoes was very pleasing to the eyes.
I would definitely come back again to try more of their menu.
Tip: Cash only but order through Yelp for pick up and pay with credit card.
Best Taro Milk bubble tea in NYC! The place is small, but beautiful, and the people working there are super nice! Definitely coming back and already recommending to all family & friends!
The place is amazing! The food is really tasty and the presentation is appetizing! A must place 👍😊
As a few people said, this cafe is real gem. Try the lychee iced tea you will see by yourself! Coffee is good too, but more regular than the different teas.
Good Thai Restaurant.
The Favorite menu is Pork barbecue.
Secret hidden gem. I'm afraid this place will be ruined when people learn about it. Second time coming here. Thai tea and dumplings are to die for. Mother and daughter will be there to greet you. They have spicy food if requested. Cannot be found in Yelp. They let me stay while best buy works on my car
Delicious food and excellent services.
The best Thai's home cooking in our neighborhood cafe.
This place is cute and cozy. The food and teas are great. It’s kind of out of the way, so even people in the neighborhood may not have noticed it, but it’s worth stopping by. I do wish that the hours were a little longer on weekends because it is a pleasant place to hang out.
Small cozy place. Friendly owner and staff. I loved the Krapow gai kai dao
I love this cafe. This place is a hidden gem. The food is amazing! Ambience is just wonderful.
Absolutely love their pad thai!! They have a great assortment of drinks as well~ <3
When you are looking for the best local Thai that day you don't have time to cook and you crave a good dish you'd never make at home, look no further than Pata. Located close to, but off the beaten path enough, from the Queens mall, this is truly a hidden gem. Exceptional food, service, and casual zen cafe-esque decor are all to be found here. A lovely Thai mom and daughter run the whole operation with ease. The vibe is chill and kind. They make the entire menu from a small kitchen just behind the counter. In addition to amazing soups, noodle dishes, salads and any other traditional Thai dish you go for, there is a bonus kids menu tucked away on the left wall so you can eat grown up food while your kids eat (delicious) hot dogs and french fries or whatever suits their fancy. Mine loved the marshmallow sandwich for dessert. I haven't dabbled in the coffee and bubble tea menu but other reviewers swear it is some of the best in NY. Good to know - it's cash only but they do Venmo, making life infinitely easier.
Perfecto
I always get crepes there, it's so cheap yet so good, but they do take a long time, so I just ask them through the phone on my way there!
Amazing food and great service
Excellent teensy tiny mom n pop shop. Service is slow but super duper sweet. Great Thai food and drinks everyone should try. Worth the trek to Queens.
I would’ve taken a picture of the food. Was too hungry and too good. Was gone before noticing. Food was extremely affordable and very flavorful. And the people were just beyond nice. That was a great topping. I have tried over 70 different locations for bubble teas from Nj all the way to ny. This location is in the top 5.
Wonderful and tasty food. Very cozy and zen-like. Very kind employees, and the decoration gave it a peaceful zen vibe. There was even a sign to not be so loud so that others can enjoy their time and meal! I didn’t have to wait so long for the food, compared to other places, and yet it was still delicious! Definitely worth going to.
One of the better Thai places in Queens
Love this place not only for the food and drinks but also for the friendly ladies working there. They know me and my friends well and remember our favorite orders even after a year! I always recommend this place if my friends are in the area.
Small and cozy environment. The ladies are friendly. The ambience looks good. But the price seemed a little higher than I expected. Also they close earlier. But overall a good place to have a cup of coffee and encourage neighborhood entrepreneurs.
Quiet little Thai place, authentic food with American (hot dogs, grilled cheese) also bubble tea
Authentic thai food prepared by thai grandma,
Its delicious i love this place!
I love it!!
Great place...i love it
