I love all their food. I come for the best Num Tuk salad I’ve had in my life. Drunken noodle anything is to die for especially the lamb. Great service by Gia & all the other staff. Best of all always great quality consistently. That alone makes me always stop by when I’m in town.

Amazing patio, food and drinks are fresh.

Food and drinks never disappoint here. Drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice, crispy rolls and dumplings were incredible with large portions. Unfortunately got my drink and food order wrong and both took a very long time to come.

Diner Review №14

Perfect! Met with friends I love and caught up and chatted over good food in a nice atmosphere.
I ate a wide range of foods in Thailand in the mid-60s. This took my palate back (in a really good way)!

I’m really disappointed with my experience. Maybe it was my own timing to blame- I went in right at 5pm as I had an unexpected couple of hours to myself, and was hoping for a vibrant, energetic happy hour spot, but I got the opposite. I walked into a SILENT restaurant where there were a couple of people on laptops. I immediately felt I should leave- the vibes were OFF- but I’m too polite. (One person was sitting at a 6 top table right in the middle of the room wearing a big puffy winter coat watching YouTube videos. Later, this person got up, still in their winter coat, and sat a group and handed them menus, which was just a little odd. The staff didn’t seem to have any sort of uniform, which is fine, but they were dressed so… casually?… that I couldn’t tell who worked there and who didn’t.) Someone emerged from the kitchen and walked up to the host stand but answered the ringing phone and didn’t acknowledge me at all. I stood for a couple of minutes waiting for her call to end and I don’t think she even glanced at me the whole time. Another server finally approached me after dropping food to one of the laptop people and asked if I’d been helped. I said no, and she said “ok. How can I help you.” It was just awkward, and I wondered if maybe they weren’t really open or something? So I said I’d like to be seated so I can get food and a drink?… and she said I could just sit wherever I wanted. I looked around and only saw tables for 4 or more, so I said I’d sit at the bar so I didn’t take up a big table. Again, this is all happening in total silence, and as she followed me to the bar, I said to her “wow it’s really quiet in here.” She replied “Yep. It is.” Oh… Ok…? No hint taken I guess, lol. The bartender was friendly and a little less awkward, and he was able to show me which apps were vegetarian and gluten free. I ordered a mule from the house “special” cocktail menu; sadly there were no happy hour specials, and many of the drinks on the cocktail menu seemed to err on the blue curaçao and sugar side of things. My moscow mule tasted VERY heavy on the moscow and light on the… mule? In other words, it was a heavy vodka pour, which may be appreciated in a night club or dive bar, but not what I was looking for at 5pm before driving home, and was very much lacking any ginger flavor, which made me wonder if it was made with Sprite instead of a good strong ginger ale or ginger beer. I love a good mule specifically for a strong bite of spicy ginger, so I was disappointed. I asked the bartender if they didn’t usually have background music. He said “oh! Yeah! I’m the same way, I like music too. I’ll see what I can do.” It took him a long while to get music on and I think one of the other servers was helping him figure it out, so maybe he was new. Before they could get he music going, someone went into the restroom and everyone in the restaurant could hear EVERYTHING happening in that bathroom; the poor soul was hacking up a lung to the point that it was concerning, and it wasn’t exactly appetizing to be hearing really aggressive bathroom noises while sipping on my too-strong drink… When he finally got the music on he chose to blast some weird alt country-techno stuff? SUCH an odd choice for that particular atmosphere and time of day. My food came out quickly- I ordered the veggie dumplings. He assured me they were gluten free and I think he was correct, although other items on the menu were marked as gluten free and this item was not, so I was slightly skeptical. Unfortunately they weren’t very good. I was STARVING so I ate most of it, but I swear they tasted like they were filled with canned peas, carrots and corn. Like cafeteria vegetable medley. The chewiness made me suspect they’re made from frozen? And they came with a side of what I thought was going to be a yummy dipping sauce but in fact was just soy sauce. I left without even finishing half the drink, and am unsure if I’ll try going back another time… so many aspects of the experience were a bummer.

I was really hoping this place would be good. It felt like I started rolling Luck dice the moment we stepped through the door.
First roll: unlucky. Happened to show up when the place smelled like fragrant floor cleaner that coated the inside of my nose.
The hostess asked if we wanted to sit by the door (which was cold) or in a booth in the back. We chose the back booth.. second roll of the dice?: unlucky again. It was right next to the kitchen, which would have been totally fine if it didn’t also smell strongly of cleaner. I could taste it now.
Third roll of the dice is for music. Roll?: critical fail. What do we get? Alternative Pop Country. The absolute worst thing they could have been playing, especially in an ambient Thai restaurant. Should this have been the sign to leave? Probably. What did I do instead? Ordered alcohol.
Fourth roll goes for a drink: close, but no luck here either! Happened to order a drink with dairy in it, no indication that this could even be possible. Mind you, my tolerance for dairy is weaker than my will to live, which is hard to beat. There are two things worth mentioning here:
1.Their entire food menu had a symbol for every allergen in each dish, so I would assume any allergen concern would be noted for all menu items.
2.The drink I ordered was from a brand called Yoju, cleverly named after the contents of the drink itself which is a combination Yogurt and Soju. Obviously! Well, maybe obvious to someone who was familiar with this beverage prior to ordering it, but that “someone” was not me. Nothing could have told me that there would be dairy in the drink until I took a sip and read the fine print on the can itself. You can blame me for not knowing what Yoju was if you want. I did explain the situation to the server and asked for the drink menu back, but did not directly ask for the guy to consider taking the drink off of the tab. I’ve been in the service industry for almost a decade and personally would have done that out of courtesy. Can’t expect that from everyone though, but I also can’t blame the server; he didn’t even look old enough to order the drink for himself. I ended up sticking with my water. My partner did get the nonalcoholic ginger mimosa (ginger beer and orange juice) that was tasty enough.
Alright, continuing to our roll for the entire reason we even walked in. Food?: Finally landing some luck! Got the fresh rolls, Pad See Ew, and the Pad Poy Sian, all pretty damn good and decent portions. The prices were around what I expected but it was still a guessing game because they weren’t all that clear on the menu.
Now we have come to the sixth and final roll of the night.. The bill: totaled at $85. Paid for my $8 death-in-a-can that wasn’t touched, as expected. However, what I wasn't expecting was for the kid to take my card before even seeing the bill. Turns out, you get cashed out at your table with handheld iPads that never leave the servers’ hands and I wasn't given the total until after the card was swiped. That definitely felt shifty. Plus, the ONLY tipping options were pre-calculated at 20% and higher. It’s not like I would have skipped a tip entirely, I’m usually a huge advocate for tipping 25% MINIMUM (again, I’ve been in the service industry for far too long) but I was genuinely dissatisfied with the place and with the service, so much so that I was having a hard time enjoying the good food.
I rarely leave a restaurant feeling disappointed, but I had a deep feeling of regret in my gut when we left (and no, it wasn’t the Yoju.)
I think I had a better chance at testing my luck with a scratch ticket. It would have cost me less, at least :/

I stopped in while on vacation and just like I expected this place was phenomenal! Great food, great service, fast kitchen and all around great atmosphere. A must if you love Thai food and a place I'll be coming back to if I'm ever in Richmond again! Do yourself a favor and get dessert. I highly recommend the mango and sticky rice, amazing!

Diner Review №24

I've been to at least a dozen or more thai restaurants - it's my favorite cuisine so I've tried a ton of different dishes many times.

This massaman curry was slightly below average imo. Not much of that peanut flavor. It could easily have been passed as a red curry with potatoes in it. Was just missing something flavor wise as well, can't put my finger on it.

They did not ask what spice level I wanted and wish they did because I would have liked more of a kick.

Played some annoying club like music which I didn't care for but the visual atmosphere was very cool

Staff was good.

I'd definitely try this place again and order a non curry dish before deciding not to come back.

Thai food is one of our favorite. We decided to try this place. Food and service were good. Server was attentive and helpful.

Diner Review №33

Diner Review №34

Service has been hit-or-miss that last two times—first time I had to go inside to ask about service after waiting 10 minutes, having had a server walk by us as we entered the patio and see us sit down and at a quiet time with only 1 other table being waited on. The 2nd time I didn’t sit down because we were the only ones there. I went inside to let them know we were going to sit outside (music is too loud inside to the point it interferes with their ability to take phone orders). It was a beautiful day so why not sit outside.

Lettuce wraps were delicious but SUPER salty to the point the juice is like pickling brine. The Bangkok Chicken is similar to the Chinese General Tsao’s Chicken (deep fried breaded pieces of chicken) but so SUPER sweet I couldn’t eat it which was disappointing. ☹️ I wanted to like it so we could find a replacement for the dish from The Eatery (at least until they hopefully reopen down the street). So both of the dishes we ordered were either over salted or over sweetened. Major bummah. I have had their Massaman Curry dish in the past and loved it. I also order their “Rice” Soup for pick up and it’s always amazingly comforting when I’m sick. The broth is perfectly seasoned. It’s an upgrade to basic chicken soup primarily because of the addition of fresh ginger. I’ve learned my lesson. I’ll continue ordering this soup for take-out, stick to Massaman curry dishes and I’ll skip exploring the rest of the menu. I had a mai-tai on the first dine-in visit—it was amazing.

Diner Review №41

I love the food here and our waiter is super nice! I’m obsessed with the Thai tea, must come for sure!!!

Diner Review №42

Great place to get Thai food. The menu is large as well as their portions. The restaurant is adorable, and their is outside dining if you prefer. Afterward, you can stroll down Cary St. and pick up desserts or go shopping.

Diner Review №43

Took my wife and daughter here to eat and got the lamb drunken noodle, panag curry with duck and Tom yum … Everything we ordered was very delicious. I appreciate the waitress recommendation to get the duck instead of shrimp 🙏🏾

Diner Review №46

Mom’s Siam is another RVA gem! A colleague introduced me to this restaurant on a business trip and I plan on returning. I was pleasantly surprised by the Tofu Popcorn - not typically something I’d order but I’d recommend to others. The Combination Fried Rice was out of this world. I’ll order it again and again. Absolutely delicious!

This funky spot is inside what looks like a big house on W. Cary Street. Insite, it's a vibrant, cozy place with a fun MOMSIAM sign lit up over the bar. It's a casual, friendly vibe with quick and helpful service at your table.

The menu has all the standards for Thai spot, but there are some specialties you won't find everywhere like the Wild Tusk (aka jungle curry) stir fry that includes piles of veggies including green peppercorn (highly recommended). The more common dishes like pad see ew are expertly prepared. We tried an array of dishes, included the fresh rolls, and were blown away by how fantastic it all was!

We've eaten Thai food across the country, from Portland, OR, to LA, to New York City, and Mom's Siam is our favorite. This is now permanently on our must-visit list of places anytime we pass through Richmond!

Diner Review №52

My first experience dining here was incredible. Chicken Penang is my go-to Thai dish. This was the best I've ever had. The flavors and fresh ingredients were top notch. The beautiful dining tables with the giant glass windows added the perfect romantic ambience.

Diner Review №53

Had the stir fry Siam garden it was delicious. Great atmosphere, could watch people on the sidewalk while jamming on a decent music

Diner Review №54

We ordered two entrees to go and one was totally wrong. Very disappointed

Diner Review №55

Diner Review №56

Food was amazing and there was a lot to choose from and the atmosphere is very beautiful however the service sucks it took them about 30 minutes just to take our order. But if your not in a rush it's a great place to go.

Diner Review №57

We sat outside and it was very pleasant even in July.
The food was great!

However, the service was not so great. The main thing that upset me and my wife (you don’t want to upset the wife) was when our food was served we had no silverware and had to wait AND ended up getting up from the table and finding a waiter. The other irritating service issue was waiters were trying to help other waiters and it made everything confusing. We were asked several times from waiters if the drink they had was ours. No. No. No. And I even noticed that our drink was being held up because they took it to the wrong table and then started a conversation with that party.

Great food otherwise and we survived.

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №60

Good food, very fast and attentive service, cute place, dog friendly outdoor seating!

Diner Review №61

The setup and decor of this restaurant is so delightful, the servers were super sweet, and the food was very tasty!
Also, I wanna add how the staff went above and beyond even after we paid our check. My friends and I were visiting from out of town and a few members of the Mom's Siam crew really helped us with a completely food-unrelated crisis. Top tier people and quality dishes, definitely go here 😎

Diner Review №62

Had the Siam chicken and it was amazing

Diner Review №63

Diner Review №64

Mixed feelings about this place.

Summary: good atmosphere, sticky tables, old oil, unfresh seafood, great price and staff.

We were sat by the window table. The vibe of the space is pretty nice but the table itself is just sticky, and not the kinda sticky you can clean. It's as if the primer or something has melted and all sorts of stuff have started sticking to it. Old tissue paper, glitter, it just feels unsanitary.

Got the shrimp and pork patty and the fried chicken dumpling as appetizers. Was okay, a little dry.

Pad Thai noodles were quite good, noodles were cooked right and there was a good balance of flavors. The soft shell crab, however, is sorely unfresh. It tasted very fishy and I could clearly tell that old oil was used.

As a matter of fact, all the seafood we got was not fresh at all so I wouldn't recommend it for several reasons.

Fried rice was okay.

The price for the amount is very good. You get a ton of food and can even split it for 2 or 3 servings.

Diner Review №65

Delicious afternoon Thai iced teas!

Diner Review №66

This was an amazing place, it was super easy to find something I could eat on the menu!

Our server was amazing, I wish I could remember their name 😭
They had bright pink and blue hair and took amazing care of us, well definitely be back next time we're in town

Diner Review №67

Absolutely fantastic. Delicious food and drinks. Available outdoor seating. Will definitely be coming back!

Diner Review №68

Diner Review №69

Diner Review №70

Nice atmosphere, I will say that a few of the dishes we ordered were underwhelming. Spring rolls were extremely plain, even the sauce couldn’t salvage them. Pad thai and pad prik stir fry were alright, the tofu is very oily (from frying). We asked for a lower spice level on the papaya salad, and it came out with no spice at all. Service was decent. I would try somewhere else next time I want Thai.

Diner Review №71

Mixed food experience -- my Bangkok chicken was great, but my companion's tofu pad Thai was poor. It's a bit troubling that they could mess up such a classic Thai dish

Service was very slow, although the waiter was friendly.

Diner Review №72

This place has the best Thai food in Richmond! Amazing every time

Diner Review №73

Good was delicious. I went around lunch time so it wasn’t busy! The service was great. The server was able to give me recommendations after not having the fish I originally wanted.

Diner Review №74

Food is delicious service is extremely poor. Until today I have been a regular -as in 2-3 times a week. I tip strongly because I use to wait tables. I noticed the level of service sliding. Some of the familiar staff with strong service skills seem absent, but I hung in there because-again the food itself is delicious. Today was apex poor- I waited 8 minutes after ordering before I could even get water. I was told unsolicited then by the waitress that they were “ doing things differently.”

30 minutes after ordering still no food. I watched on as two parties that came in after me were up drinks, refills and apps. The waitress kept walking by and not acknowledging me. By 40 minutes I got up and left. Not before informing the manager of what happened. Both manager and waitress just gave me a blank stare. They seemed to be in the middle of navigating some other disaster. So it seems the “ doing something different” is being forgotten about entirely once sat down.

Surprise! I guess…

my entire lunch break down the tubes. Sadly, this looks like it has become par for course lately if you choose to dine in according to reviews. I guess they can afford to play this sort of lottery with their patrons. Shame!

Great experience twice now. Robbie was attentive and helpful. The food is consistently fantastic. Vegetarian and Vegan options with plenty for the omnivores as well.

Diner Review №83

This place is a great find! The beef bolgogi appetizer was delectable with or without the vinegar based dipping sauce. My friend had garlic brown sauce stir fry with chicken and green beans. It was white meat pieces with al dente green beans in a smooth garlic brown sauce. I had shrimp with the pine nut and mixed vegetables in brown sauce. I finished mine had no leftovers to take home. If they weren’t so busy, I would have ordered something else to go. I had The White Lady drink which was vodka and cranberry and something else, IDK what, and the ice was an orchid in a ball—super nice touch! I will definitely go here again next time we’re in Carytown.

Diner Review №84

Beautiful patio. The food was delicious and the drinks were also very good. Can't wait til next time.

Diner Review №85

Diner Review №92

Best Thai around and cocktails are fantastic. Servers can be slow getting to you, especially when busy, but fantastic food is worth it.

Diner Review №93

I've been here a few times and the food was really good and we all enjoyed ourselves. I've always referred people here and talk about how nice it is but I took my friend there tonight and it was just absolutely awful! It smelled like pure SH!+ the whole time, like sewage water, and the dishes smelled like feet! And there was another smell of WET DOG! I asked our waiter if there was a dog there. It was just really bad. We should or left but the food was so good the other times I've been there I wanted my friend to experience the same thing. They didn't smell the sewage smell like I did but the feet and wet dog smell was heavy!
Something else that bothered me was I watched the staff go in and out of the back door smoking (which is cool) but danggg man they NEVER washed their hands once they came back in.

I went to Mamas on a Friday night with a group of 5 friends. We were seated in the back by the big windows that face Cary St. the restaurant was mildly busy and we were sat promptly. Ambiance on the inside is great. Lovely decorations and the staff were very friendly.

The restaurant near the kitchen in the back where we sat had some kind of smell. It wasn’t a horrible smell and I can’t place what it was. It wasn’t the food and didn’t seem like cleaning products, but I forgot about it shortly. Another issue was the table being sticky. An employee overheard us talking about the table and mentioned that during Covid they used a bleach cleaner which stripped the tables, but I suppose were never refinished.

Food was great and the kitchen sent it out in an insanely quick. The server and our party were very surprised.

I had drunken fried rice with pork at their highest heat level. It was sufficiently hot and appreciated the server being forward about the heat scale. My friends got a chicken drunken noodle, pork drunken noodle and a pad prik. I can’t recall what the final person got, but everyone seemed to have enjoyed their meals.

Between us regarding drinks we got two 24 once PBRs. They taste like PBR, but are a large size. Per ounce you’re better off going with the smaller one. We didn’t notice that till we ordered. Maybe they should sell the PBRs at an equal price per ounce. We also got a Rum Punch which was in a fun cup and tasted great.

Overall I would recommend stopping by Momma Siams and checking out some delicious food. On a nice day be sure to sit on the patio too!

Came in on a Saturday night and was seated upstairs in the back of the restaurant. Our waiter forgot about us multiple times. We were served our appetizer before we were given waters. We weren’t given any silverware - I ended up walking downs stairs to get silverware for my group. I was brought the wrong order and had to wait for what seemed like forever to get my food. I ate my leftovers and ended up getting extremely sick. I notified the restaurant and asked for a refund. The manager didn’t want to give me a refund because she said no one else has notified her of food poisoning, but she would let the kitchen know. Very disappointing because I’ve been here multiple times and this has never happened.

Diner Review №115

I’ve been here twice and it’s very inconsistent the first time it was good and my mom’s noodles where uncooked. Second time the noodles where uncooked and calamari was chewy

Diner Review №116

20$ for 5 small undercooked pieces of duck is absolutely insane. If you need to raise the price to give more meat than do that! But stop cheating people. My bulgolgi was also VERY rare. Will not be back. Service just as bad as the food. DONT come here, there’s better places in the area.

Diner Review №117

This was such a great spot! The pad Thai with the flat noodles was so yummy and the dumpling sauces did were so diffrent and yummy. Drinks were also very pleasant.

Diner Review №118

Always a favorite in Carytown. Great choice for authentic Thai cuisine. Plenty of outdoor seating. Bartenders are exceptional, especially Henry.

Diner Review №119

The staff was friendly, there was a small moment of miscommunication about an order but it was solved. The atmosphere was nice very busy, at some point there was just a large gathering of people as they waited for their tables. The space is pretty intimate when you’re on the first level so if you don’t like crowds I would ask to be seated up top. The food was okay. Nothing that I would go out of my way for. The vegetarian dumplings felt a bit frozen and the lo mein tasted like a meal I could throw together at home by using the microwave. The portion sizes however are great and the mango sticky rice is worth giving a try.

Diner Review №120

I had a absolute nightmare of a time getting my food, but the (manager? Owner?) was apologetic and fixed it after a total of 45 minutes of waiting for my food and sorting out issues. The hostess was awful, plain and simple.

The green curry was very, very amazing. The Tom kha Gai was singlehandedly the worst thing I have ever been served by a restaurant. It was a quick remake because the hostess put my original order in wrong, and I think she either grabbed it before it was ready or they just comepletely forgot to add the lemongrass, Kaffir leaves, cilantro or galangal. I was served plain coconut milk with chicken and mushrooms and absolutely ZERO flavor. Take a sip of canned coconut milk and add mushroom juice and that's what it tasted like. When I got home and tasted it I had to improvise by adding salt and bottled lime juice because I refused to waste money by throwing it out. I even rooted through the soup to see if I just didn't notice the other things but nope just mushroom, chicken, coconut milk.

The green curry made up for the experience though. It was genuinely very good.

Been here four times now, and every time the food has been excellent! Best Thai food I’ve had in Richmond so far. Only reason I’m not giving it five stars is there is occasionally an odd bathroom-like stench coming from the front. And one time we came here and our table was weirdly sticky. I’ll be back for the food, but I think the atmosphere could use a little TLC.

Diner Review №131

I always get the green curry with chicken. It's loaded with fresh vegetables and it's delicious! The portion is large and I usually take some home. I ask for it to be gluten free, and I feel safe eating here with my dietary restriction. This is the best Thai place I've been to in Richmond

I always love coming here! Stopped by with 2 friends of mine and we had the perfect evening. Everything was phenomenal! I had the Pineapple Fried Rice with Salmon and I honestly don’t think I’ve had a better dish from this place to date. Service from Robert was a delight. His humor was brilliant and he was on top of everything so swiftly. Drinks were amazing as well. 10/10 as always, already can’t wait to come back.

Brian talk Thai. Brian talk Thai very well. Love Mom's Siam. It's kind of an old school Carytown dive - but that's kinda what makes it great. Never had anything but a great meal. Green Curry, Thai Duck Curry, Pad Thai, Thai Coconut Curry are our go-tos. Tried the Thai deviled eggs last time just because - they were kinda great - definitely unique.

Almost forgot, you can feast - ordering way too much food - for 20-30 bucks. Prices are more than reasonable.

Came here just for a drink and app. Aloe[bartender]took great care of us and made his special drink for us which is out of this world! I definitely recommend this place... will be back... thank you Aloe!!

Diner Review №138

Best Curry in town!!!! Awesome service and conversation!! Aloe is the best!!

Diner Review №140

The food here was extremely good. I ordered the chicken wings and chicken Thai fried rice (really spicy). I enjoyed the food and will return to this restaurant if I'm in
town again.

Diner Review №141

Laura was so amazing!! She was already at the table before we could call her over, she went above and beyond to make us feel appreciated!! 100% our favorite thai place in richmond thanks to her

Diner Review №142

Generally unimpressed with the Richmond restaurants every time I come up. But this was amazing. Great food, amazing service. Will come back for sure. Highly, highly recommend

Im not sure who was cooking, but they need a new one. I ordered a dish with duck, and it was so bad i couldn't finish it. I always finish my food, even sub-par food, unless it has something im allergic to. But this was so bad when the server brought it out. i oh is that duck? He looked at it for about 3 minutes and goes, i think so. The seafood soup tum yum was in a brown broth, and that aside, it had an odd smell. It's just not very good food. But the staff was nice and the place is cozy.

Diner Review №148

Cozy lil spot and perfect for those late night dinners with friends or family. Red coconut curry was done perfectly and the environment was very pleasant. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Raw, uncut green beans and romaine lettuce in a thai papaya salad? Unmixed cocktails. Chaotic service. Curry served on a platter. Not impressed. Nice windows to people watch.

Diner Review №153

Love it! Always a great time

Diner Review №154

Highly recommend drunken fried rice and Pad Thai with tofu for vegetarians. Support this local business! You won’t be disappointed.

The staff here is awesome and the food is really good. Looking forward to exploring more of the items on the apps menu.

Diner Review №157

New patio, who dis?

The patio seating seems to be about the same, but the new roof makes it feel bigger.

Food and drinks are still legit as always.

Diner Review №158

We were seated outside. Every time the wind blew, we could smell the dumpster.

Diner Review №159

The fried fish is great, the rest is your average Thai but I do like the vibe and have eaten here a few times

Diner Review №163

Delicious, fresh food. Nice outdoor patio. Steet parking.

Diner Review №164

Pad thai and Rama Stirfry are way too sweet and has hardly any protein. Fried rice is moist, nothing like fried rice. Shrimp and broccoli. The 4 other things we ordered were average.

Diner Review №165

They really have great food here but I'll never be back because of their attitudes. We came in a little before 8:30 on Labor Day while the open sign was still on and as soon as we got in they told us they were closed. I said "Oh sorry, your open sign is still on and online it says your open till 10." We turn to leave, and he yells out behind us "Don't believe everything you read online!" in a really rude sarcastic tone. I order take out from this place and this would have been my first time eating there. But I don't support businesses that are rude for absolutely no reason.

Diner Review №166

Do not eat here if you are sensitive to msg!

Diner Review №167

Sucks the foods so good. They decided to union bust and fire their employees. Then tried to say they didn't have the funds to pay their employees better, while being one of the most popular places in town, then upgrading the patio once everyone unionized was fired. Remember that's retaliation and retaliation is the bases for many settlements.

Diner Review №168

Food was so bad last time I visited. The pad Thai noodles was too sweet

Diner Review №169

Diner Review №170

I normally order from Elephant Thai. Ubereats CANCELLED my orde tonight due to w/e discrepancies. I'm sooooo happy because I tasted your drunken noodle which I requested to be super duper hot and yall exceeded my expectations!!! I will be back! Tomorrow in fact! Thank youuuu

Diner Review №171

Way to inconsistent when ordering takeout. Food is awesome when they want it to be, but again, take out is hit or miss.

Diner Review №172

Great place with awesome drinks, food, and staff.

Diner Review №174

Stopped for happy hour drinks with my partner. We both got Mai Tais and for snacks we got edamame and popcorn tofu. Food and drinks were fantastic! The new covered patio was also amazing and offered a great atmosphere.
Two areas that could be improved however:

1. Our server was clearly frustrated about something and he all but snapped at us when he came to take our drink order and we said we were thinking about Mai Tais and he responded sharply "are you just thinking or is that what you actually want?". It was a combination of his mannerisms and tone that made us both feel like a burden to him. He got more pleasant as the visit progressed but it almost ruined the evening. Everybody isn't cut out for front of house. I think he might be one of those people.

2. This one is a weird one but so important. The outside patio chairs are ear-piercingly loud when they move across the concrete floor. Everytime anyone moved or scooted their chair out to exit it caused the entire city block to pause and look to see what heavy equipment was causing the noise. They must be replaced.

Bottom line: give this longtime Richmond eatery a fresh try if you haven't been recently. It should be on your shortlist for happy hour spots!

The servers were very friendly and the food was amazing!

Diner Review №178

This place was so good. I was very surprised at the high quality of the bar. While I didn’t partake in any alcoholic beverages, the ones my friends had looked really good. The Thai tea is also a must have.

Diner Review №179

We went there today and our experience was OUTSTANDING the service was quick and accurate, the staff were VERY personable and the entire lunch was delish even the mixed drinks I HIGHLY recommend them!

Diner Review №180

Singha beer and basil fried rice is the minimum ask at a Thai restaurant and this place delivers it! The vibe is nice and so are their cocktails. Sabai sabai was my pick.

Diner Review №181

Please do your community a favor and do not spend your money here. This family also owns moms Siam 2, my noodle and bar, YaYa's cookbook, and MPM. Their employees unionized to try and fight for better working conditions and pay, and were completely disregarded. Working and sanitary conditions at all other listed restaurants are deplorable. Please consider the workers and take your business elsewhere.
If you'd like to support the unionized workers, check out @workerssiam on Instagram.

Diner Review №182

Haha isn’t this the place that fired all their staff for asking for livable wages/work hours.

Lmao, food ain’t that good for this kind of dystopian nightmare.

Diner Review №183

Owner is a joke. Doesn’t care about her staff only cares about how full her own pockets are. Spend your money and time elsewhere.

Diner Review №184

Stay away. Don’t do business here. Owner fired staff for requesting a better work environment and a livable wage.

Diner Review №185

Treat your staff better

Diner Review №186

I hope you reconsider your recent business decisions or close down for good. Treat your employees better. They keep your place running.

ETA: Review will be updated when business is updated.

The dining table was never ever a clean table oily sticky not cleaned for so many days

Diner Review №189

This place is AMAZINGGGG the food here is so good. Me and my family love this place. I also just absolutely adore Thai food so this place is up my alley but if you love Thai food you'll love this place. Our waitress was super nice and helpful! The place is pretty cute too and the portions are pretty big which is great cuz then you get leftovers! 100% recommend this place

Diner Review №190

Can't say enough wonderful things about this place! From the second you walk in the service is most pleasant, kitchen is open a bit later for the night owls which I appreciate, vegan friendly, beautiful atmosphere very cozy, warm and unique. Drinks and food were absolutely delicious, I highly recommend if you like authentic Thai food!

This one has it all, all the richmond vibes. The food is amazing and the service was top notch. The craft cocktails were legit as they come, down to the ice. Spice levels are accurate. Kao Soi Kai...yeah the fried noodles and curry is off the charts good, almost like a massaman curry but with crunch in every bite. Everyone had a great dish.

Diner Review №198

Food was absolutely too sweet, I ordered a fried egg, it was cook over easy. I don’t know why. The service was horrible due to the fact it was one person working. Everything I asked for, he says up charge , up charge
I’m scared to see my damn bill.. first and last visit

Diner Review №199

Great staff, great food and great drinks.

Diner Review №200

AMAZING. This is the best place for quick and filling food; perfect for a sit down lunch either before getting on the road, or maybe meeting your ex boyfriends mother you happen to still be besties with! (I digress) The whole experience was lighthearted and fulfilling :) The food was scrumptious. We got the Massaman (warm coconut chicken and rice) and the Drunken Noodles (thick full noodles with bodied spice). The staff were two dudes running everything- they filled the atmosphere with fervent expectant consideration! This is the best secret Thai nook in Richmond 🤤🤩💛
