The food was terrific, and the chef cooked each dish with masterful skill. We started with fried calamari, which was made from fresh squid and had a clean taste. The bouncing texture was a sign that fresh squid was used to cook it. We also liked the fact that the batter on the squid was thin. The Essan Steak was the star of the meal. The Asian-inspired sauce was used to marinate the steak and grilled to perfection. The asparagus on the side was perfectly steamed without any flavors, which nicely balanced the steak. The steak was so tender when I bit into it. The Drunken Noodle with seafood was also a thumbs up. The spiciness kicked in after a few seconds, but it was pleasant and made it memorable. The Crab Fried Rice was also good. The overall flavor was mild, and it was tasty. The Iced Thai Tea was specially paired well with the food we ordered. It helped reduce the spiciness of the Drunken Noodle. The restaurant was tastefully decorated, and the service was top-notch. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Came here just because I am sick of eating fast food and was out. It’s a traditional Thai food with a moody ambiance. The customer service was great and food was good. The veg dumplings was sooo good! The pad Thai was average. The waiter was attentive and helpful.

Five stars for food and service. Lunch was awesome. Conveniently located in North point shopping center. Plenty of parking and a great shopping center to get your chores done and have lunch or dinner in the same trip. The vegetable stir fry was very good. Dumplings and tiger steak appetizers were delicious too. Enjoy!

5 stars for the flavors. 4 for service. Walked in for a table for four on a Saturday around 7pm. The hostess told us to wait 25 minutes which ended up being an hour. We see empty tables which aren't cleaned up fast enough. Looks like they need more people.

The flavor department was great. Prices are quite high. I think we're paying extra for the decor. Crispy duck was unique and tasted awesome. Kua kuo noodle was also very good. The seafood dish not so great.

Bottom line: Go there during off hours and get the familiar stuff. Trying a new strange dish may not be good.

Went for lunch and had a wonderful experience. We order food from this restaurant almost weekly and they have always been consistently great food. My only complaint is that on weekends they can be very crowded so it takes longer to get your food.

Lovely hideaway place to enjoy Thai food. Shhh...my secret😉

This is the pricier Thai place in the area. I would just get takeout next time due to strong smell from neighboring nail salon. Staff was friendly but one of Thier phones behind the counter from where we were sitting was ringing for 30 minutes which was distracting to my table.

Delicious food, friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. The duck was fantastic and portions were huge!

Update: the person who answers the phone is so RUDE and Unprofessional it’s a darn shame when you want to patronize a local business. But this is the WORST EVER DONE WITH DINNING WITH FINN!

Out of all the Thai places I have tried in Reston, this is by far my favorite. The food is SO good. I come here on a regular basis. Highly recommend the Panang Curry and Crispy Fried Tofu!

Very very good Thai! I got the chicken panang curry for carryout and it was DELICIOUS!!! My baby fell asleep in the car on the way there and they were so kind to run it out to the car for me 😭❤️. Above and beyond and absolutely tasty! Highly recommend

CHEAP IN THE WORST WAY!!!!!!!

I have been ordering from this place for a month now. You’d think since I order so frequently from this place they’d be kind to me. However, the staff is beyond rude.

I’m writing this specific review because of how CHEAP the people who run this restaurant are.

I ordered multiple entrees today. I asked for 2 spice containers on the side. Considering all the food it was clear that there are multiple people who will be eating the food I’m picking up. The lady became furious! She split a prefilled seasoning container that was not even 1/3 full into an empty container in front of me with an angry face. She looks at me and says “It’s extra if you want two.” I told her I’m willing to pay extra. She responded “No. It’s done now.”

How cheap!!! While being so rude. I understand people have bad days, but the staff here truly made me never want to come back here because of how disrespectful and angry the women running the place were, which makes me so sad because I always greet them with a smile and I’ve given them so much business.

Enough business to buy huge containers of crushed red pepper seasoning! Lol

Another good thai place in the area. This is where I go for take out thai. Panang curry, pad thai and drunken noodles.

Beef drunken noodle was everything I wanted it to be. The Thai spicy was the perfect amount of heat, just enough to clear your sinuses. My friend got the chicken drunken noodle which he also enjoyed.

Since COVID, we haven’t yet made a huge effort to eat out at a restaurant. A few weeks ago when we had family over, we decided to go to Finn Thai one evening.

We have ordered from Finn Thai before, and have enjoyed their food. I am happy to say, however, that, enjoying the meal at the restaurant was even better than expected. The food was once again excellent and the service was quick and very friendly. We were one of the only parties eating in the restaurant (though we could tell they were having, quite a lot of takeout business). Ambience of the restaurant, with its dim lighting and tasteful decor, was also very inviting.

The service is great. The food is okay depending on what you get. I had a large pickup order for several friends, and we each had mixed reviews. The more traditional Thai food was great. Less traditional dishes, sides, and desserts were not so great.

The food was waaaayyyy too sweet. I had a spicy chili dish and it had so much sugar, I had to force myself to finish it toward the end. I mean it was brutal, sweeter than some desserts. One of the worst experiences at a Thai place. Not going back.

My wife's law firm used Finn Thai for catering. The service and food were amazing. They catered for 40 people, and every single person was super happy with the service and food quality. The food was delicious, on time, and all utensils were provided too.

I placed a catering order with Finn Thai. The order was accurately fulfilled, delivered on time, and presented well. The food was delicious and plentiful. Several guests inquired about the caterer so that they could order food for themselves on other occasions. For the event, I ordered classics like spring rolls, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Chili Basil.

Food n ambience is good. I would recommend take out though due to dining in experience.

EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF ALERT! We went for dinner yesterday (06/07/23), there were four of us and we each ordered one entree worth ~$16. No appetizers, drinks or desserts. We decided to leave a 15% tip with the bill and based on the service we received, that seemed like a reasonable amount. When we stepped out of the restaurant, we were chased by a rude staff member (who wasn't even our server) and accused us of only tipping a few $$. We explained to her that the tip amount was 15% of the bill after which she smirked - indicating that it was not enough.

I have always spoken highly of this restaurant and took friends and family to this restaurant every time someone came to visit the area. Needless to say we are not coming back especially after creating such a scene which left me and the two kids with us in great shock!

This is the best Thai restaurant in DC area. The staff are so friendly, the food is always great, I recommend ginger perfect. The cooks and chefs here serve the best Thai food you're gonna find. We love Finn Thai.

I wouldn't even give it a star but I have to. The staff is rude and very unpleasant. I ordered chicken pad thai and shrimp pad thai. Both with extra bean sprouts. I actually drove from Leesburg and waited to order until I got there so it wouldn't get dried out. When I got home, both orders had a few bean sprouts on the side and none throughout the noodles. Also, the noodles were dry and clumped together with no sauce. When I called to complain, they said I would have to bring them back to get my money back. So, I drove another half hour back and showed them my orders to which I was told it was supposed to be dry and they didn't add a lot of sauce and it was my fault for ordering from so far away. As for the beansprouts, she insinuated that I had picked them all out. Why would I waste over 2 hours of my time and money if the dish had been prepared correctly and like it shows in their pictures on their website. Who wants a container of dry, stuck together noodles with no sauce? I ended up getting another dish that was fine but wasn't offered anything to drink while I waited until I asked for it. I was also berated for asking for more fish sauce. I replied that if your food wasn't dry and with no sauce, I wouldn't need fish sauce. Altogether a very disappointing experience. Don't waste your time or money here. Next time I will go back to Thai Luang in Herndon where I know the food is good and the staff friendly and where they don't treat you badly. It took me over 2 hours to get an edible meal..and now it is 9pm and I am no longer hungry so I will have to reheat it tomorrow and hope it tastes OK. I can't even put in words how upset I am over this whole incident and how if you go there, it is at your own risk.

It is awesome to have a place where they know your name and this place is no different. Amazing food, amazing staff. You will not leave disappointed or hungry!

Been going here for about three years and it is a wonderful restaurant. Always a peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. Their Chicken Pad Thai is my favorite locally, and my wife always gets their Duck. Their Thai tea is also made nice and strong (though I get it without ice). Their prices have gone up recently, but I found their dine-in quality has also gone up. Their portions seem to have gotten bigger too. Highly recommended for North Reston area!

Came in for lunch with my boss and it was fast and friendly service with great tasting food. The lemon grass soup with chicken was excellent as well as the ginger perfect with chicken. Surprisingly affordable price for the area. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Reston/Herndon area. We love getting a variety of entrees for the whole family and sharing them with each other. Everything here is delicious and there is a great variety of entrees that should satisfy everyone.

Terrific service and delicious food. I had the larb, he had the fried rice combo and we shared the spring rolls. I loved the larb, the flavor in the sauces were deep and just the right amount of spice. The spring rolls were light and tasty. The decor was cozy chic. I would definitely recommend.

The crouching tiger appetizer is AMAZING. The food is a little pricey, but the quality is unmatched for Thai food in the area. Great location for a date night, or to try something new.

We’ve dined in and gotten taken a few times and have had all good experiences. Today I came with two of my kids and the experience was outstanding. Our server, Amandine, was wonderfully attentive and helpful, and she really went above and beyond.

The food itself was all delicious. We ordered an assortment of appetizers (chicken satay, potstickers, and crispy tofu), the chef’s fried rice, and the cashew chicken (they kindly dialed down the spiciness for us). It was all cooked and spiced to perfection!

Pro-tip: ask for some extra chicken satay sauce for dipping the tofu. 🤤

New Year’s Eve. I usually love their food. Tonight’s food was overcooked (potstickers, spring rolls, scallops and chicken Pad Thai. And - above all - cold. Despite picking it up earlier than the food was supposed to be ready…They have just lost a regular customer…

I was impressed by this place. The space is filled with warmth at every corner. The service is exceptional. This goes to the sweet woman server on 12.19.21 night. The food was fresh of the stove and delicious as I never experienced before in Thai restaurants (it is worth noting that I have not been to many due to not being impressed with food and/or service). Definitely recommend for those who wants to give it another try for Thai food.

Excellent tasting food. Every dish is fresh with well balanced spices. Prices are average, not expensive. Friendly staff. Takeout service is fast. I like the food so much, I order takeout twice a week.
Changing this to a 3 Star. Recently had problems with my take out order. Incorrect protein, smaller quantities of noodles and delayed pick up delivery. Buyer beware on take out orders. Check before you leave the restaurant.

The most important thing a restaurant can offer is a consistent product. My wife and I both like the Drunken Chicken, but no matter how often we ask that it me made mild, we have a 50/50 chance of getting something totally way too spicy. I can ask and ask again, but I guess they just don’t care. Now here we sit, an other wasted dinner, both feeling ill and sure we’ll just give up.

This has happened before and we have discussed the issue with the staff. Each time it happened we would go elsewhere for many months. This evening was the last straw. We refuse to spend money to feel ill and be totally disregarded by this restaurant. We will never return. There are too many good places to give them a fourth shot at not screwing up. Good luck if you go, now you’ll have a few less people ordering from this business.

Ordered here for the first time recently. Best Thai food I’ve ever had! The Shrimp Pad Thai is out of this world. Friendly, efficient service, and even though we were told 30 minutes for our carry out to be ready, it look no longer than 20 minutes. A new favorite of mine!

I wish I could leave 0 stars. Finn Thai established themselves on DoorDash and upon placing a large order with them on DoorDash - they never fulfilled our order. The dasher arrived to the restaurant and they claimed to have never received an order from DoorDash. We ordered lunch for a our team of 12+ people who never received their lunch today. After discussing this with them we informed them that we needed it ASAP and they agreed. When we called to check again, we were told that they hadn't started on the order, it was not ready and they actually do not even have the order on file anymore to begin working on it. No apology. No nothing. Do NOT order from here.

Best Thai food in Reston/Herndon! I've tried many places in the area and nothing comes close to the Thai food here. It's definitely some of the best in Northern VA. So far I've loved every dish I've ordered and this will definitely be my go-to Thai place!

I really wanted this place to be good, but every dish I have tried here has been far too sweet. Thai food doesn't need to be coated in syrup. I recommend Thai by Thai in Sterling.

I won't return. Basic Pad Thai was too sweet and dull. Did the sauce come from a bottle? Service was prompt but mediocre. No doggie bag for me.

The lemon grass soup is excellent. The portions are generous (always leftovers), and the spices go great with a cold beer.

Great Thai Experience

Visited Finn Thai for the first time today. Well appointed, clean restaurant. I had lemongrass soup and drunken noodles. Both were spiced to perfection and delicious!! Very generous portions, I'm happy to have leftovers. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back.
