Absolutely wonderful. It was clean, quaint, and the food… wow! Me and my girlfriend got the Chicken Massaman Curry (Thai Hot), and our friend got the Green Curry Fried Rice (Medium). Our server, William, was outstanding, and he allowed me and my girlfriend to share a dinner portion at lunch! We got Mango Sticky Rice for dessert.
My cousin has been mentioning how amazing the food is at Anaya. Yesterday we decided to go meet her for lunch at Anya, and we were not disappointed. We were greeted with a warm welcome. We were seated and greeted at our table by a gentleman who I believe maybe one of the owner. He was very kind and recommended several items that were all delicious. The food here was flavorful. For starters we got the money bag, spring rolls, and crab Rangoon. All the starters were delicious! For our meal my husband got the chicken basil fried rice which was so good. I got the curry fried rice with shrimp. It was amazing. Then we got the Rama dish to split. The peanut sauce was amazing. Each dish has amazing flavor. I enjoyed our dining experience.
This restaurant has delicious food. The larb salad was an explosion of flavors, so good! The pad Thai was perfect, not overdone with sweet sauce and the dumpling curry was amazing. The sauce itself was a treat! The servers were attentive and helpful, suggesting dishes based on our interests- and were spot on. A winner! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in Thai food.
Fantastic little 'hole in the wall' restaurant on Warwick. Service was prompt and friendly and the staff highly attentive. Quiet atmosphere with intimate lighting. Had the Pad Thai with pork served 'Thai Hot'. Meal was fabulous and portions were plentiful. Crab Rangoon appetizer best i've had locally. Highly recommend. (Try the Thai Tea. Seriously. It's AMAZING).
The best Thai food I have ever had! So flavorful, delicious and fresh! The staff is always so kind and attentive. I have tried, crunch spring rolls, fresh rolls, lettuce wraps, pad Thai, curry and broccoli lover with chicken. All were amazing, no complaints. The restaurant always long so clean, pretty and smells good. Would highly recommend trying it out!
We had lunch there today and we can’t wait to go back. The atmosphere is great, very nice with quiet jazz playing in the background. The service is great, the owner was very attentive and answered all of our questions. The food? Out of this world! So good and the portions were the perfect size. We have just added a new favorite spot to our date nights! Check Anya Thai Cuisine out soon, you will be glad that you did!
I can not applaud enough for the service that was provided! I ordered online for a delivery. Due to allergies, we made comment/ requests to omit few items. A nice young woman called few minutes later to double check and clarify on the notes and as well as give options.
Once we received the meals, there were friendly notes letting us know the extra adjustments they made to accommodate to our allergy limitations, even listing what was in each dish.
This is so incredibly kind, courteous as well as comforting to know they take allergies seriously!!!!! ( which sadly so many places do not )
We definitely just became loyal customers !!!!
And recommend to all!!
it is hard to explain. We ordered the drunken noodles. My husband and I decided to split it because it was the first time we were eating there. The first noodle I put in my mouth taste like raw oysters in texture. Maybe not even raw oysters it was the slimiest noodle with a texture of of something we could not explain. I thought maybe that was just one bad noodle that was overcooked and stayed in the water too long. I put another noodle in my mouth even though I wanted to gag, and then my husband said that his noodles were horrible. We called the waitress over. We explained it to her. I also explained to her that I have made drunken noodles before. I know what it should taste like I know how the noodles texture should be. I asked her maybe they were over soaked she said they don’t soak their noodles so we decided that we just could not tolerate eating it anymore. We were so disappointed because I was looking forward to having good Thai food. I don’t know how they can begin to have a 4.8 rating. If I could’ve given them zero I would have.
If you’re looking for Thai food, this is the place to go!! The food is always delicious. The servers are fast, friendly, and so knowledgeable about the food and drinks they serve! The ambiance is also so cozy and inviting. Highly recommend!

We very much enjoyed our food. The restaurant was clean and the food was delicious! The server was friendly and truly interested in our dining experience. We'll definitely go back.
Anya’s has amazing food and even better service. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I bring all of my friends/ family here when they come into visit! Absolutely love it here.

Third time back, the food was even more delicious than before. The Anya dumplings are divine swimming in a spicy curry broth. The Pad See Ew was flavorful and just the right amount of savory, without being overly rich. And the Tapioca dessert was like warm hug. You can taste the love and care that goes into the food here. It's a notch above the rest.
This is a great little place to get Thai food. It's quaint and cozy and the food is fantastic
Red curry was great!
Such a fantastic place! Amazing food and service was fast and served with a smile.
This was my first time and everything was fantastic. I will definitely be back
Placed an order here over my normal Thai restaurant since I was closer to the area in which they are located. I ended up throwing the Pad Thai away because it had a foul smell. I took a few bites but just could not eat it. My daughter had the broccoli stir fry and the chicken looked like it came out of the microwave. Broccoli was hard. The sauce flavor was fine. The Crab Rangoon was loose consistency in the inside … almost runny. Just overall disappointed. $40 meal wasted. The hostess was friendly so that’s a plus.

It didn't live up to the reviews for me. The rice was too gummy and the meal was just okay.
All the reviews made me think it would be amazing but the food was just okay. Best thing was the Thai tea. Got the Drunken noodles, mango sticky rice, Tom Kha soup, money bags, and Thai fried dumplings. Prices seemed low only to find out the portions are really small. Fried dumplings were $7 for 4 tiny little guys. Mango sticky rice came with a small scoop of rice, thinly sliced quarter of mango and basically no sauce on it. Paid $2 to add beef to drunken noodles and got 4 small strips of beef. Definitely skimping and the food itself was nothing special, tasted okay. The staff were very friendly though.

Great quality, cleanliness, variety, classy neighborhood eatery. Excellent and knowledgable waiter, William. Delightful Birthday Dinner.
Very tasty meal and just the right amount of spice!
This was our first time and we loved it. Excellent food and service! We had the Anya Yumm Noodles, Anya Chicken and Kow Pad Prik Pow. We will be back.
♥️🤘♥️🤘♥️🤘
Fantastic authentic Thai food. Just like grandma makes. I currently just PCSed out here with my family and I've been missing some good Thai food. This place definitely scratched that itch. 10/10 would definitely keep my business. The penang curry is absolutely amazing and their sticky rice is beyond perfect.
Best Thai food we have had in a long time! Large selection on menu. Amazing home made dumplings and noodles. So much flavor! Sweet and sour sauce with money bag appetizer was a perfect blend of flavors. My new favorite place!
I've tried a few Thai places in the 757 area. Most are pretty good. This is not one of those places. This is the best Thai place in 757 (so far). At least it is at the time of me writing the review.
The Thai hot Pad Kapow (chicken) was EXACTLY the amount of creeping heat I was wanting. Actually I wasn't even sure if I wanted it THAT hot, but it was perfectly paired with the flavor of the dish that I couldn't stop eating it.
This place is a gem, the whole menu is great.
Don't judge this place by its exterior! Though it looks like an old, run-down restaurant from the outside, the food inside is exceptional. The ambience could use some updates, but the flavors more than make up for it. I highly recommend trying the Anya dumpling, drunken noodles, and the banana spring roll with ice cream.
Would appreciate wine or beer with my dinner, Or at least to be able bring in my own choice
Tamarind shrimp was out of this world. Service was attentive and fast and polite and wait staff was very well informed as to menu selections.
Anya’s was our first experience with Thai food and we weren’t disappointed! The location is peaceful and the food is top notch!
William, our waiter, was superb! He made sure our first experience was memorable with great service and kindness!
We will definitely be back and of course, we will tell EVERYONE about Anya’s!
What a hidden gem of Newport News!
Our experience at Anya Thai was excellent.
We started off with an appetizer of tempura vegetables. They were light and tasty. Done perfectly! For dinner, I had a very traditional Pad Thai. It was delicious. My husband had the Rama stir-fry. I tried a taste.... it was so yummy. Everything tasted fresh and delicious.
Portions are generous and the price is right.
Service was attentive and the overall impression was outstanding. Congratulations to the owners and staff for such a fantastic restaurant. You've created something wonderful. And thank you for a great meal and experience.
We will be back for sure.
Highly recommended!
You've got to try this place.

Best Thai food I've ever had. Friendly and helpful.
Decided to try somewhere new. The restaurant is unassuming, but the good was really solid. The fried tofu was not as crispy as I've had, but the internal consistency of the tofu was spot on. I had the Anya Yumm Noodles with beef which was very tasty. My wife had the Best Ginger, which was also good. For dessert, we had the Bualoy Thai tapioca...amazing!
It's always good to support loca businesses. I wish the husband and wife team all the best!
The hostess was very nice and helpful. The food took about 20 minutes but was very tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to others.
Excellent food and friendly staff

First time and I will be back. The food is fantastic. Wonderfully flavored and great portions. Very friendly hostess. Prices are very good.
Amazing, authentic Thai food. They really do it right at Anya! The ambiance and service was fantastic as well. The server made excellent recommendations based on what we usually like. We also needed help on the spice level and she was spot on! :) I highly recommend starting with the Thai dumplings. They are served in this red curry that is the best I think I’ve ever had. Will be back next weekend!
We just enjoyed afantabulous dinner and ate every morsel. My husband had Red Curry with chicken and declared it perfection. The curry was fragrant and the ingredients were fresh. I tried the Veggie Delight with chicken and I could not have wanted for more. The sauce was light and the veggies so were fresh. My MIL selected Thai Cashew which was equally fresh and delightful. She seldom finishes her plate but this time it was cleaned.
We were too stuffed for dessert but will be back to give more offerings a try.
AMAZING
Great dining area with small conversations to make it comfortable. Large portions served with great timing between apps and mains. Very pleasant staff as well. Solid choice for Thai and they will make it spicy if you want them to. Will be on rotation.
Food was excellent and extremely fresh. I highly recommend the Anya Yumm Noodles. Sweet and spicy!
Very authentic and delicious Thai food. Lots of vegetarian options. Thank you!
I had a thai tea, medium pad thai and spring rolls everything was absolutely delicious and service was amazing!
This is the best Thai place. I have tried a lot and this place never disappoints. The food is so flavorful. Thank you for the wonderful service
Amazing, I'm short on time, but everything was great. From the friendly greeting to the free appetizer to the fresh, well seasoned food!
Made a first visit today for lunch. Food was excellent (cashew noodles, Pad Thai), and service was, too. The first question on seating was about diet and allergies, which i appreciated (vegan here). The waitress knew the menu and ingredients well and was able to make good suggestions. This restaurant is a keeper. My granddaughter enjoyed the food, too.
Good food and good live piano music.
Omgeee this place has incredibly tasting food. I had the shrimp stir fry. The sauce was so tasty. It was the perfect balance of protein, veggies and rice. I ended up ordering a second serving of the same entree to take home with me.
My boyfriend had the chicken stir fry. He loved it! I tasted some and will definitely be getting that dish next time.
The tea we has so tasty as well. Then we had the fried banana spring rolls and ice cream dessert! Oh my God that was so good! We’ll be back soon! It’s worth the ride from Va. Beach.
Thank you! :-)
Excellent service and fantastic Pad Thai seasoned perfectly. Great new restaurant.
Food was great! They have the authentic wide Thai noodles!!!!
While the interior could use a bit of reworking to make some of the seating less awkward, the food itself is quite good. After reading some of the other reviews, we went with the Pad Thai, Money Bags, and Chicken Larb (Larb is a personal favorite of mine).
The Money Bags are a fun appetizer, kind of like if you bunched up egg roll filling into a ball. The Chicken Larb was flavorful, but I found the meat to be a little dry, so it might be worth trying one of the other proteins. The Pad Thai was my personal favorite as it was both tasty and had a good portion size. Prices are fairly reasonable, but you would probably best get your money's worth if you were going or taking out for 2-3 other people.
I am looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu. This restaurant is a great addition to the area.
Delicious food and great service! Our server had was super kind and attentive. We tried the fried Thai dumplings, Anya Yum Noodles, and red curry, and everything was amazing! Definitely will be back to try some of the other dishes - lots of great choices.
The curry was okay... Asked for extra rice since it didn't feel like they gave much, didn't know I would be charged ~$4 for extra rice...seems a bit much
Wish I had liked this place more than what the reviews indicated. The service was great. The ambiance was serene and calming, great to enjoy meals with friends.
When you enter the restaurant, the hostess is there ready to greet you with a wonderful smile. The foyer is inviting with it is plants, hydrangeas, etc. As you enter the dining area, you can't help but notice a bar that isn't used for anything but as condiments station. Hoping they'll replace that bar to accommodate more tables or booths.
But we were here for the food. It was a Saturday, a day you'd expect all their menu items should be available so you can enjoy. They were out of duck and pork belly, the 2 most liked by us patrons who associate Thai dishes with.
I ordered Panang Curry. It was served very plainly. The rice tasted several days old, possibly not washed thoroughly but it wasn't fluffy nor fragrant. There wasn't good proportion of chicken to vegetables. It was alright.
3.16.2024 ANYA THAI CUISINE, very good! You must get the money bag appetizer!! Delicious! Thai tea was good, not too sweet like most places. Had the Massaman Curry with added broccoli. Really good! Even the after dinner coffee candy was delightful!
Delicious, beautifully plated dishes. Lovely atmosphere. Charming, attentive hosts. This is a perfect date night spot. We'll definitely be returning!
Edited to add:
My husband and I are regulars now! The Anya chicken is my favorite. My husband loves the Anya noodles.
Got the spring rolls, basil fried rice, and pad thai. The spring rolls were perfectly crunchy, and the basil fried rice was super flavorful and well-seasoned. As for the pad thai, I was a little underwhelmed. I wasn't able to detect much of the sauce flavor that is characteristic of a typical pad thai, it kind of just tasted like noodles with the slightest hint of sauce. However, this is only one Americanized dish out of the many that they offer, I'm sure if I had gone with a more authentic dish I would have had a much stronger impression! Definitely will be coming back here to explore their other offerings.
Great place for Thai.
Had the fried rice and Pad Thai. Highly recommend both
Love that there’s a Thai place so close to home! I ordered two entrees - pad Thai and red curry - for science. The curry was delicious; pad Thai was a little bland and would have benefitted from some more sauce. Ordered online and that was a super easy process. Looking forward to ordering and sampling even more things from the menu.
Wonderful new Thai restaurant close to home. They are celiac knowledgeable and offered to make almost anything on the menu gluten free. We all enjoyed our food and will return!
Located in a small strip mall, there’s plenty of free parking. My wife wasn’t feeling well so I ordered food for pickup (my pics will reflect that; sorry). The owner was very friendly and you could tell they were very busy, yet still polite. The setting looked very comfortable. I decided to order a bunch of appetizers so I could try more and everything was great. For dinner I ordered the Tom Kha soup, chicken satay, summer rolls, Anya dumplings, and money bags. Everything was delicious.
We have had multiple dishes. All have been delicious! It is the best Thai food we have had since living in NY! Highly recommend!!
The day I went the waiter was probably the best I’ve ever had. The only thing was (probably bcs they were understaffed some) we had to seat ourselves but I in no way hold that against them. Food was amazing, customer service was amazing. Could not recommend enough.
I went with a few friends pretty late and William Houtz (the owner) welcomed us with an amazing smile! He showed us right to our table and the restaurant was exceptionally clean. William was our waiter and not only did he make sure we had everything we needed at all times, he seemed so happy to be doing it. The food is incredible and the prices are amazing. At the end of the night after we had paid, William went ahead of us and held the door open. Overall I would rate this 11/10 and I will definitely be going back!!
We went on the recommendation of a friend. I have gone twice, once on a date night and once with the entire family (5).
The food is delicious. The food has different levels of spiciness. However, I will warn that if the dish states its spicy, it is medium level—just a warning for the timid.
The only issues I see ar the small bathroom, and staffing is at startup levels and may require a few minutes extra.
Overall, it is excellent. Please highly recommend giving them a try.
Amazing Thai Food. Family and I tried a little bit of everything. The Thai Noodle Soup with Beef Broth was so flavorful (better than other unnamed Thai places) and had plenty of meat in it. We also favored the noodle size, which is slightly larger than other places. The Kow Pad Prik Pow with Pork had a nice basil flavor we enjoyed. We loved that it had mushrooms, onions, and carrots in it as well. The Anya Fried Dumplings are some of the best we've had. Finally, the Anya Yum Noodles with Pork were very tasty because of that sauce they used and was garnished with cilantro. Portion sizes were decent for the price. Will definitely be our go-to for Thai!
Delicious food, great service
The food is absolutely spectacular. If you haven’t already visited this gem along Warwick, you are sincerely missing out! Not only are the staff so hospitable, the owner personally was going table to table ensuring the guests were enjoying themselves. Have I mentioned the food? Ah yes, I began the review with it. The last Thai food I had was around fort liberty (fort Bragg) and nothing has compared since. This is extremely comparable and thankfully local! Outstanding all around! Check em out!
Anya Thai Cuisine is wonderful! The friendly service, paired with the fresh and authentic Thai food made for an awesome culinary experience. Excited for this new spot!
We got the chicken Pad Thai and chicken Drunken Noodles and LOVED both. I haven't had really good Thai in over 10 years since I lived in a different city. So glad to have an amazing Thai place in the area for a fair price.
The curries are fresh and spiced at your chosen heat level. Green curry with chicken tender and the flavor was perfect and husband loved the red curry with pork.
Delicious authentic thai food. The owner of a local husband and wife team, it recently opened a little over a month ago. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming 😌. The owner was insightful on the menu regarding the things on the menu. My boyfriend and I ordered the Anya's Yumm Noodles, I had pork while my boyfriend had shrimp which was a 2.00 surcharge. It was wonderfully delightful. We ordered extra spicy and it didn't disappoint. The sauce was flavorful and the meat was cooked well. The noodles were sauced correctly and the flavor was out of this world. The portion sizes were perfect for dinner and overall we will be coming back often. Come on down to this place the food will not disappoint
This place is great and close to CNU! The Thai Money Bags were amazing as well as the Pad Thai! Service was excellent as well. We will definitely come back!
Vegetable tempura, fresh summer rolls, and crispy spring rolls were excellent. All of the sauces were delicious. Will definitely return.
My fiancé and I tried Anya Thai tonight and the food was delicious! We got the drunken noodles and the chicken pad Thai. The staff were very friendly and reassuring, as I have a peanut allergy, and they made sure our food was peanut free! I’m so happy they have opened, we needed a Thai restaurant by hidenwood!
Found this new this restaurant when I was home visiting my parents. Had such a great time I went back! I especially loved the Anya Dumplings, larb and curries. Oh, and the noodles. I also tried a seasonal Thai dessert - Bualoy Thai Tapioca and coconut milk. Like a hug in a bowl :)
Wonderful new spot! Lovely decor and the owner is so nice! Food was delicious and beautiful presentations! You need to go try this new gem!
Fire curry
Great dinner!! The appetizers we ordered were papaya salad and satay (not pictured, but the cucumber sauce is delicious). The entrees we ordered were green curry, Anya chicken, and Thai cashew stir fried dish with chicken. All of them came with a generous side of rice. We wrapped up our meal with the Thai tapioca. Will was our server & he couldn’t have been more attentive. Excited to have a new restaurant in Newport News!
Food was great and the service was even better!
Great new Thai restaurant! Food was amazing, especially the coconut soup! Would highly recommend!
The food was AMAZING. I work close by and ordered from them for dinner and was so pleased with the food definitely my new go to when I'm at work.
We absolutely love this Thai restaurant. The people are amazing and the food is delicious. I love the summer rolls! We are looking forward to trying more dishes!
I love Thai food so when I learned a new restaurant had opened near my home I had to give it a try tonight. We were amazed by the cuisine. It was authentic, extremely fresh, and perfectly flavored. We enjoyed the Pad Ka Pow and the Thai Cashew both with Chicken. I would say our dinner was second to no Thai restaurant I have dined. The owners are very pleasant and the service was great. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.
I meant to post pics…but when I got home with the food, the family just started devouring!!
This is a great place.
The food is terrific and the staff is delightful!
We will be back!
Delicious food, loaded with fresh, crisp veggies, and they have vegan options. My spouse ordered a noodle dish with tofu and I ordered a different one with shrimp. Superb flavors. Nice, peaceful atmosphere, soft piano music in the background, with a gracious and attentive wait staff.
We don't usually eat at a new restaurant until it's been open for a while, but we were so excited to about having a Thai place in the neighborhood that we decided to try Anya during its first week. We were not disappointed! The food was yummy; the owners were gracious; and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. We will definitely be back!
The staff was very nice and friendly! The food was AMAZING and a good price.
We had the pleasure of trying Anya during their first week. The food, service, and company were top notch. Our favorite was the homemade curry and Anya dumplings - both delicious. The crispy duck and Larb were very flavorful and fresh tasting. They also served us some special authentic Thai desserts that we never had before - which we loved!! Overall it was a great experience and the owners are some of the most welcoming people around... we will definitely be back to try more things!!! Highly recommend
This is an amazing Thai dining experience! I am Vegan, and their Vegan options were excellent. I had the Thai basil fried rice, spring rolls and this incredible dish called Ginger Fest! If you're looking for a great dinner night out with amazing Thai food and friendly service, this is your place...I'm definitely making this one of my regular dining experiences. Welcome to Hampton Roads and see you again soon 💗 Definitely 5 Stars!
