Thai & Chinese cuisine
Talay is my family’s favorite local restaurant! We’ve been eating here for over ten years with only great experiences! The food is fresh, flavorful and the staff is always welcoming and delightful. With many vegan options, I’m always left satisfied. Portions are large and I’ve never regretted anything I’ve tried here! 10/10 recommend! :)
Fast service. Food got to me quickly and well spiced. Appetizer was spring rolls with slightly watered down sauce. For main I ordered the Pad Thai as it’s usually a known dish for me and I was in a hurry. All in all not bad but two key areas were problems. It was entirely too sweet. I mean there is supposed to be a sweetness to it but it was overpowering. Also, the chicken was so thinly cut it had gone a little dry. The noodles however were cooked perfectly. Normal on the service side. Great presentation. For a quick eat I would eat here again but not if I was craving 5 star Thai.
Wow. Just wow. Fresh. Tasty. Perfectly spicy (#3) and good dinner portion. The Pad See Ew is one of the best I’ve had. The price was very reasonable and service was very attentive. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Duluth!
Update to My One Star Review:
Five stars now for customer service. The restaurant replied and made good on their promise to replace the order of spring rolls. It is rare to get that kind of accountability these days. I very much appreciate the effort.
Prior Review:
Very disappointing. We’ve eaten at this restaurant several times. The dine in service is always very good. The take out always lacks something. Tonight was the worst. The spring rolls were clearly burned but packaged to go anyway. They would never serve this to someone sitting in the restaurant because they know it would be sent back. We drive nearly 30 minutes to pick up food. If we ever do so again (not likely) we will open every container before we leave. As much as this food costs they should know better and do better.
Pros- they have delicious veg spring rolls. The steamed rice was amazing. The best part is they had Singha beer and few other imported beers available in the menu
Cons- the egg fried rice was flavorless. The lamb chops were undercooked and dragon noodles were more on sweeter side instead of being bit tangy in taste
Environment: Decent. Paper Napkins were of good quality came as a wrapper of spoons & forks. Bathroom was clean & well equipped.
Food: Calamari, as a starter, was pretty flat in flavor. I had better calamari before. Tom Yum Soup was ok-ish but after mixing their house blend spicy sauce, the taste & flavor increased significantly. At that point, I was kinda disappointed & was waiting for a surprise with our Entrée i.e. Drunken Noodle & Thai Basil dishes. But they didn't disappoint me! Though they didn't look like the pictures we saw in the previous reviews but taste was great. The veggies were fresh cut & therefore, flavor was running all over my mouth. The Thai Tea was perfect as expected.
Service: The lady server was smiley & talkative. I don't know why but she preferred Thai Dishes over the Chinese dishes to serve & I trusted her preferences for the Entrée after being disappointed with the Starter & Soup, & of course she saved our evening with some good choices.
Price: Price was decent for a but the portion could be more!
Recommend? YES! We'll try next time some other dishes certainly.
Great as always!

Cool hip self service restaurant, food came out fast and it was yum. The staff was helpful as well explaining to us the concept. Definitely recommend and will be back. I enjoyed the padThai
The best Won Ton soup that I've ever had.
I went with a group for dinner. It started off normal, but quickly went down from there. We were seated and water was provided. Some of us arrived a little late and those folks didn't get any water until much later. The waitress rarely came to check up on us. When she did drop by, it was to take our order. The first person ordered for his family, then the waitress started collecting all the menues. When she came to take mine, I had to hold on to it with an iron grip just so that I could order my meal. At this point the food was ordered, but at no point did they provide any silverware. Once the appetizers started coming out, you would have thought that we would have gotten silverware at that point. Nope, that was wishful thinking. We eventually got the silverware ourselves from the waitress station in the back corner. Some of the main dishes started coming out. Then we noticed that other tables who came in after us started getting their food before us. When we asked the waitress about that, the went to the back, then brough the remaining dishes out, most of it anyway. When we asked about the missing dishes, she gave us a weird look before going into the kitchen. She came out seconds later with the last dishes. Apparently, they were ready but she didn't bother to bring them out.
Service was horribly bad, and the dishes were average. I think the waitress already knew that she was getting an 18% tip, because we came as a large group, so she didn't care to provide proper service. That was evident by the fact that other tables that came in after us were getting better service.
I don't plan to ever go there again, and I don't recommend that anyone else does either.
Very good food and service

The food was amazing. Would really recommend their drunken noodles. We asked for spice level 4 and that was truly spicy. Loved it!

We’ve been coming here for a while now and it never disappoints, Aunties are always the sweetest! Today I came in for my birthday with my family (6) and service was awesome like it usually is (Auntie even sang for me and decorated our dessert <3)
Atmosphere here is very cozy. You can also make your curry spicy if you want!
Thank you Aunties, we’ll see y’all soon! 😊
Food was good
The food was so salty that I left most of it behind.
I've been a patron of Talay now for well over 10 years. The food has always been amazing and that is typically all that is necessary for me, but over the years I can say that many of the staff there are now friends. They are always kind and offer a smile or a wave hello on repeat visits to make you feel welcome. I have, and do recommended Talay to countless numbers of friends, family, coworkers even strangers looking for a good place to eat. I started with Pad See Ew, but have now tried MANY of the dishes they offer and have not found anything that I do not love (Spicy Basil Highly Recommended). I have literally been thinking for years about what I could do, or what gift I could get for Talay to show my appreciation for not only the food but most importantly the service. It finally dawned on me today that the simplest solution is sometimes the most important. So, with that said. Thank you Novi! Thank you Marcia! Thank you Siska! Thanks to the cook and all of the staff. Thanks for the AMAZING food, but most importantly thanks for the kind service! Also the food is breathtakingly good...
Watered-down soup, flavorless chicken satay, and panang curry was totally out of the jar. Won't be badk
Amazing food and amazing service!
Got thai tea and mango sticky rice. Thai tea was okay. The mango sticky rice was absolutely horrible. The mango was beyond sour it wasn’t even eatable. This is not the first time Ive ordered it and it was sour either. This has happened multiple times.
great experience every time i come, food is always great and the service is amazing they are very sweet. Favorite thai restaurant!
Good, fresh, and spicy food

Talay never disappoints!! The ambiance, service, and flavor here are UNMATCHED. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice w/beef medium spicy. And it was HEAVENLY. The staff is always ultra professional + friendly whenever I stop by.
It’s so refreshing to find a Thai cuisine spot that’s both affordable + CONSISTENTLY DELECTABLE. Don’t walk RUN!!
The food here is absolutely delicious. The customer service is excellent, they were very quick and accommodating. I highly recommend Spicy Basil, Basil fried rice, and General Tso’s chicken.
Just tried the food, the nasi goreng shrimp just hit the spot for me, gonna comeback soon for lunch
Horrid masaman. Looked pre-digested. They charge extra for vegetables. Won't be ordering again
Delicious food, a fair price, and amazing service! We recommended to everyone.
The food is absolutely amazing. I’ve been to so many Thai restaurants and this is one of my all time favorites. I usually hate leaving reviews but i literally love this place. All I’ve gotten is their Thai fried rice and Tom yum soup (both are delicious) but everyone I’ve brought to eat there says that whatever dish they got was amazing. I do highly recommend those two dishes though since they are my tried and true combo.
Still great!
The food and service are always good. The food is flavorful, and service is quick. Good vegetarian options without fish sauce.
Liked their noodles entrees, and allow different level of spicy. But sometimes the dish got too watery. Appetizers I have tried Golden Tofu, better to eat in vs takeout as the breading got very soggy and will fall off;Thai shrimp roll is very bland but I guess that is supposed to be healthy.
There panang curry with veggies is delicious
Bad service, my food had an unpleasant acidic smell and taste and the smell of rotten eggs. I will not return. Mal servicio y la peor comida mi comida tenía un olor a huevo podrido 🤮.
Simply good food!
Its Over now
THIS IS NOT THAI FOOD. ITS CHINESE.
Spent almost 50 bucks. The chicken taste old, the white rice was mushy and the general tso don't know what kinda meat that was. It was scary big.... I definitely should have known it was not a thai spot. I have never seen general tso on a thai menu before.
DON'T BE FOOLED.
I hope they didn't make any cat meat. That meat was soooo big. Ugh
If you're in the mood for decent, but not to pricy Thai food, this is your spot. My only complaint is that they've scaled back the spice. I order extra spicy and get just regular hot. It used to be where I'd get a good sweat eating the extra spicy. A lot of places in the area have done this because they feel people can't handle their heat. Let us make that decision.
We love their curried crispy duck, lamb lollipop and the best dumplings anywhere!
Delicious food, great service. I'll be back!
Good basic Thai and a few other Asian dishes. Clean. Well run.
Great food for reasonable prices and good serving sizes.
If you like Thai food. You need to eat in Talay Thai. Really good food.
Ordered pick-up. The food was incredibly bland and some of it overcooked. Didn't taste like Thai food at all. Would not recommend.
Its a nice place and the food is good
So i definitely recommend it
Egg fried rice was flavorless, thai fried rice was very salty, drunken noodle was the sweetest drunken noodle I've ever had. How come they all messed up but in different ways??
Its ok, if Im in the neighborhood and Im hungry, I'll do it again
I love this Thai Restaurant! The service is very professional and the food comes out quickly. The quality of the food is outstanding! I'm always amazed at how much flavor can be packed into one dish. I highly recommend the Spring Rolls, the Thai Tea, and the Drunken Noodles. The noodles are spicy basil with rice noodles and vegetables. My favorite dish by far.
Great Thai food !
We ordered small trays of Basil rice and drunken noodles, but the trays were nearly a quarter empty. Upon noticing this, we contacted them to express concern that the food might not be sufficient for our guests. After some discussion, they reluctantly agreed to provide one plate of each - rice and noodles. Our friend had picked up the original order, and now we had to send someone again to collect the additional items.
For a subsequent order the following day, they abruptly canceled the order, citing a lack of vegetables as the reason. This incident has left me with a lack of trust in their ability to fulfill orders accurately. Even if it means paying more, reliability and delivering the agreed-upon quantity should be prioritized when fulfilling customer orders. Consequently, I have decided not to order from them in the future.

Look at rude response from the owner - why would anyone want to do business with them? We are also more than happy to take our business somewhere else.
I ordered pad thai, drunken noodle, and thai fried rice. The only thing I liked was the fried rice. That’s all.
My spicy Basil wasn’t spicy, my friends pad Thai was apparently pretty awful. She said it had a weird aftertaste.
The service was fantastic though, everyone was very nice.
The atmosphere is a notch above the usual strip mall Asian cuisine place.
Great place to have Thai food. I ordered my favorite chicken coconut soup, Spicy Basil Fried Rice, and Cheese Roll with imitation crab meat. Soup was perfectly flavorful with the bit of tangy flavor. Rice had bit more spices than other places and was moist. Cheese roll as usual, the same one at other places. The waitress was very courteous and kept coming and asking to make sure I had everything I needed.

Recommend? YES! We'll try next time some other dishes certainly.
Good tasting Thai food.
First time trying. Ordered to go. Drunken noodles were AMAZING. I purchased the combo (included chicken, shrimp and beef). All the meats were superb. Beef was splendid. I gave four stars because it took a while to actually retrieve my food due to a delay at register. I will definitely go back for more 🤤
Pad prik king is their best version of this I can remember in years. The pepper steak on Chinese menu is also great. Consistent and always good quality of veggie. Just tooo small cabbage on lard dishes and lettuce wraps not enough lettuce lol
Excellent Thai dishes. My favorite dish is the Panang chicken. A must try is the Thai tea. It is a strong and cold beverage with cream and compliments the entrees.
Talay catered our daughter's graduation party and it was great! Everyone praised how delicious the food was. I would highly recommend Talay for your catering needs. Thank you!
I love Thai food and I really wanted to enjoy the food here, but it's like they put in the absolute minimum effort. I ordered the shrimp rolls and they were just okay. The restaurant did not provide any sauce or plastic cutlery (I ordered the food to go). I also had the Bangkok fried rice, and it was very bland. The taste was as if they cooked the chicken, shrimp, sausage, and onions individually and with minimum seasoning. Then they placed the meat and rice together in the takeout dish and handed it to me. I was so disappointed. I also had the coconut chicken soup, and that was okay. I hate leaving bad reviews. I am sincerely hoping the owners will read this and step their game up. This was my first visit. I'm hoping thay it was simply an off day in the kitchen.
Best Tom Ka we've had ever really. Depth of flavor and spicy option was delightful. Also the Satay was very flavorful. Many places Pad Thai or Drunken noodles are dry maybe cooked too hot. But Talay made everything perfect. Really a standout in authentic Thai. We really enjoyed it. Hope to be back in GA soon to enjoy again. Definitely a place to look forward to again and again
Hubby and I found this place on google while searching for Thai. My goodness were we happy to find them. We got a pot of coconut soup which gave us at least 2 cups a piece. It was delicious!! For entrees, hubby got Drunken noodles with pork and I got Massaman curry with chicken and a cup of white rice. These portions were huge! (Yay leftovers) Both dishes were very tasty with a little bit of spice. You can choose from 5 levels of spice. Can’t wait to come back!!
Hidden gem how does everyone not know about this place! Their Thai food, excellent!! Have not tried any of their Chinese dish though. Bonus they have online ordering too. Do note they close daily after lunch between 2:30 pm-5 pm.
Goof food
My realtor took me here after closing and we enjoyed their delicious coconut soup and calamari. Very nice and tasty!
Everything we ordered was excellent. I wanted to order some appetizers twice. My favorite entree was the spicy basil beef, which was terrific. Our server was very courteous and tended to our every request. Wish we had this place in our neighborhood.
I was expecting authentic Thai taste, but i felt it was not authentic in all the dishes.
We tried Hawaiian fried rice and basil fried rice which was good. Mango salad was good.
what I didn't like,.
Ordered Satay, it was not hot and green curry was filled with capsicum.
Tom Yum soup was missing Lemon grass flavour, it was more of tomato flavour
I will go again for fried rice.
Ordered from Uber Eats, very satisfied, very delicious, it’s authentic Thai food!
I had lunch with my family there and I have to say it is one of the better if not best thai food places in the area. Everything was flavorful. Just make sure you specify what level of heat you want with your curry. We can't wait to go back and try more. If you like heat and are trying to avoid carbs I would definitely give the Larb a shot. The Chinese food was also some of the better that I have had and a favorite of my kids.
I ordered basil fried rice lunch special it was really good and their coconut soup was delicious as well. Service was excellent only the waiter not the host. however the parking spot is very limited. I usually come here after 1 pm where it’s not too crowded. I forgot to take picture of basil fried rice. Next time…
Review update: I got chicken pad woon sen and it’s delicious.
Today I had shrimp nasi goreng and wow it’s delicious.
Review update: the host/cashier girl needs to smile and be more friendly! Her face always looks sour. So far I haven’t seen her smile tho I come eat all the time.
I don’t feel welcome everytime I call in or come in to eat.
One of best thai places in lawrenceville, give it a try if you are looking for great local asian food.
Excellent food quality - always tastes great regardless of the dish ordered. Food is quickly prepared and promptly served. The staff is polite and friendly.
Best Thai food around Suwannee or Duluth!!
I love this place. I have been eating here since they opened food is very consistent. Some of the ladies know me by name. Service is great. Lately their portions are so small, less meat and prices increased. A few times they messed up the takeout order but fixed it with no issues. I still patron but it’s a bit disappointing. Have they stopped giving spring rolls with takeout?
Best freaking fried rice in the area. Fresh and delicious
So happy we found a good Thai place. Everything was so good. Service was very good too.
Best place to have quick lunch in Suwanee, food is always tasty and wait staff is great 👍
Fried rice was very dry and hard.
Food portion is little and not included what we requested.
I really like their pad thai. It's saucy enough and really delicious! The thai tea is good. Their larb is well seasoned and goes very well with the lettuce (I like lettuce better than cabbage.) I enjoy their coconut soup a lot, enough sourness and saltiness. My go-to place for Thai food! Parking is limited.
Take out service, bland food with no plastic utensils packed. Very inconvenient!
They have raise their prices by 4 to $5 on average per meal. This is a ridiculous and 30 to 35% increase in the price of a meal. This is not fair to customers that are loyal. I will never come back again it’s highway robbery and price gouging and will be reported to the city of Suwanee board. The cost of rice or chicken has not gone up substantially and inflation isn’t certainly reason for 30% hike in prices. Farewell Talay.
Delicious food at an excellent price. The service was great too. Would highly recommend to those who enjoy great Thai food.
I had Spicy Spaghetti Veggies it was delicious 🦋
I got takeout here and was pleasantly surprised! We got sesame chicken, green curry tofu, app sampler, and coconut chicken soup. Everything was very fresh and tasty. I’m from NJ and trying to find Asian food that compares to what you get there has been a struggle. This place far exceeded my expectations!
Love this place I go there often.
Best pot stickers around. Had the pad Thai . It was really good. It could have been a little spicier but I like it really hot .
5 stars! I come here very often. Food is amazing, tables are always clean, service is great! The ladies the work here are always SO nice! I recommend coming here!
Bad service and bad food
Dint like the taste
Food was excellent. I had curry duck and my husband had the lamb. My husband doesn't eat spicy things. The lamb was tender and seasoned perfectly. The lady brought it out to the car. Dine in is available.
The coconut soup is one of the best in the area. I also love the basil chicken. Their lunch specials are well priced.
The food is really fresh and great quality. My only complaint is that everything is a little too sweet for me.
I'd come here just for the soup, basil chicken amd thai iced coffee though. The fried spring and fresh spring rolls are also really good. Worth it.
Today was my first time trying this restaurant. I had drunken noodle and tom kha kai. The soup was very sad. I asked whether they made it themselves and they said yes. I've had the soup in Thailand as well as Chamblee/Dunwoody and this didn't taste or look like either. And of course now my belly is fussing.
Sad.
Noodles of drunken noodles were very overcooked.
Nice and Clean
Good customer service and the good is good.
Great service! Clean! Nice background music! Spicy Thai Cashew, veggies and 9 nice sized shrimp cooked perfect. Delicious dish! 5 star.
Fried rice combo was light on meat & shrimp. 4 star. Good dining experience! Will be back!
Service and food were great!
Delicious food... staff always willing to accomodate your requests.
There is limited parking available by the restaurant, it can get busy during peak hours. It’s pretty close to the Assi plaza.
Very casual dining, only indoor seating available. A fair selection of Chinese and Thai food available.
Only a few other table were there when we went for dinner. So we were seated right away and service was pretty fast too.
Thai tea: tasted delicious! Not too sweet which I appreciated.
Potstickers: very crispy, more on the lighter seasoning for the filling.
Tom yum soup with chicken: if you like sour/more acidic flavor, this is the perfect soup for you! Not spicy, although you can ask for my spice. I do wish the soup was actually boiling…but it was at least warm.
Spicy Thai Spaghetti with shrimp: we got 3 out of 5 for spicy level. It had a hint of spicy but the bell pepper sweetness balanced it out. The shrimp felt a little undercooked.
Panang curry with pork: also got a level 3, but this definitely had more of a kick to it! The curry has a rich coconut flavor but still spicy!
Overall really enjoyed the meal here and would be back.
Pleasant people always...hope they fix the issues on other bad reviews.
Horrible food
Amazing Thai curry test..will go again!!
I decided to pick up an order last night, February 12, 2022 since it was on my way home from a Family’s members house. It had been a while since I ordered from here because of Covid I was now working from home and it was out of the way. I got my usual dish that I used to get the Rama chicken, It tasted fine but literally two hours later something happened where It didn’t agree with me any longer. I was literally in the bathroom for the next 4 to 6 hours getting personal with the toilet at different levels. I will not be back, this hurts me because as I said this used to be our favorite place to go pre-pandemic. I spent over $50 last night for the meals. My husband who also shared the appetizers but had a different main course was completely fine. Leading me to believe it was my main course that was bad.
The food is fresh and delicious! I ordered for pickup, and it was ready very quickly, was nice and hot when I arrived, and the quality of the food was wonderful. The staff are professional and courteous. This is one of our new favorite restaurants.
me and my buddy eat here for lunch almost everyday. its so good.
For the past three times I’ve been to this place, their glasses always had lipstick and lips stains on it and their forks were not properly washed. My friends and I would have to request a straw or avoid drinking from their dishes to enjoy the meal. I next two times I went it was the same experience.
I don’t ever write reviews, but the fact that this has happen three times in a row is concerning. I didn’t take pictures the first two times, but the third time I decided this was my last time eating here and need to write a review about it.
Num Tok was awesome. Will definitely go back!
My husband loves thai but I am not a fan. I got the veggie spring rolls and coconut cake. They were some of the best spring rolls I have ever had. The cake was also delicious. My husband said this was great thai food and he eats at many thai restaurants. Even tho I do not care for thai I would go back just for the spring rolls.
The food and service here is always amazing. If you go here and are not sure what to get the talay combination and drunken noodles are my fan favorites.
I have been getting food here for years. My office used to be right around the corner and even though we have moved, its still worth the drive to get take out lunch. Food is consistent and always good and they have the absolute best Spring Rolls Ive had.
Very tasty and a lot of food given for the cost. I can eat it for 2 nights.
Modestly priced delicious food. We ordered lunch packs of green curry with rice and it was delicious. They come neatly packed in takeout containers with a spring roll.
Buena comida
My go-to favorite Thai restaurant in town!
Really liked the Panang tofu curry and pad se ew tofu. Ordered to go over the phone and it was ready when I arrived. The Thai spring rolls were delicious too.
I have not wanted to write this review, but I just keep being disappointed the last several months. My husband and I are longtime customers and this restaurant has always been good, but the last 3 times I have been disappointed by them. First, we ate out in the dining room, and they seem to have a double standard on their tea. I ordered tea green tea on two different times, and they gave me this huge tea pot with one small tea bag in it. Both times it never brewed to anything but faintly flavored hot water. The last time I complained, and they gave me loose leaf which was great. I guess that they reserve for people they think might want good tea. Two weeks ago, I ordered a side of cucumber salad with my takeout dinner. When I got home I had been given two teaspoons of cucumber salad. It equaled about 4 slices of marinated cucumber. When you order at the table you get a small bowl full. Then tonight was the last straw and I needed to vent. I love Green Curry Chicken and have ordered it for years. Usually it has green beans, bellpepper, sometimes thai eggplant, bean sprouts, basil and at some places carrots. Tonight, it had Chicken and a LOT of bell pepper that’s it. I think there were one or two bean sprouts. I am so disappointed. I drive a pretty good way to get there because they have always been so good, but something is going on there these days. I will be finding a new place to get our Thai. I will post a photo of my supposed Green Curry Thai. It is only Chicken and Bell pepper Thai tonight.
First time here I ordered drunken noodles and shrimp rolls. The drunken noodles came with an eggroll that was stale. I don’t mix my noodles and I was halfway done with my food when I saw a piece of black hair in my noodles after I stirred it around. ( I currently have blonde hair.) only good thing was the shrimp rolls and sauce.
Dee-leh-cious. A great hole in the wall restaurant for some tasty Thai food. The prices during the lunch hour are fantastic and the quantity is by no means small. Their Thai tea is also great, and only $3! I had a simple sesame chicken with fried rice and for 8.99 I got a large platter of sweet chicken and fried rice, and an additional spring roll. It’s very simple, the restaurant itself is very minimalist, I go only for the food. Definitely worth it
Typical Thai cuisine. Pad Thai is very average and lack of authenticity. Thai basil beef was good though.
I have been here several times and let me say, their food is absolutely amazing. Their nasi goreng is my go to thing I always get and has never failed me. All the other food I’ve tried like their pad see ew, basil fried rice and Thai fried rice have also been excellent. Service here is also so friendly and I have never had a problem. Plus their prices are so reasonable too love that.
Delicious Thai cuisine!
Absolutely amazing food!! The Red curry was sooo good it reminded me of when I visited thailand. I had to order a second one to-go. The pad thai was very good also. Our server was an absolute sweet heart and gave great service, 10 out of 10!! I will be back again!!!
When you walk in you are greeted by a huge aquarium filled with large Blood Parrots. Once seated by the friendly staff we were well taken care of. As I watched others in the restaurant I noticed lots of beautiful dishes and happy faces eating them. This place has great food at very reasonable prices. Soup, 2 appetizers, wine and 3 entrees for $70.
