This diverse restaurant's global menu features everything from dumplings & tamales to Indian fare.
This place is amazing indeed. My son had a Tapsilog (Tapa, Sinangag(garlic fried rice) and Itlog (egg), a well known Filipino breakfast, also Lumpia. I had Kare Kare (Peanut sauce stewed oxtail. OMG, it’s the most delicious Kare Kare I have ever tried. The oxtail just melted in my mouth, gourmet Kare Kare indeed. Presentation was awesome and customer service was excellent. It’s a hidden gem indeed. We will definitely be back for many more to try all their dishes. Though they have international cuisines , so happy that they embraced and also highlight their Filipino dishes. You will not be disappointed with this restaurant. We finished our meal with Turon (Fried Banana) topped with Ice cream. Thank you for the heavenly meal. We loved it so much! We left with big smiles on our faces.
Finally a fulfilling authentic Filipino food experience. Our waitress was so nice and genuine, generously told us about the place, and understanding of our dietary restrictions. The turon was my favorite part, but the lumpia was a nostalgic piece to enjoy. My family definitely plan on coming back. 10 out of 10 everything! Only thing I would change about this place is to double down on the Filipino cuisine.
My trip to Taste of the World Restaurant was a unique culinary adventure that immersed me in the essence of Filipino cuisine. I was welcomed with warmth and hospitality as soon as I walked in, which set the stage for an amazing dinner experience.
The meals are unparalleled in their genuineness. With each bite of the delicate beef and creamy peanut sauce of the Kare Kare, I was taken back to the streets of Manila. I was hankering over more Lumpia Spring Rolls because of their delicious blend of crispiness and savoury contents.
Not only is the cuisine great, but the restaurant's welcoming atmosphere and kind staff also make it stand out. It was the ideal location to enjoy authentic Filipino flavours with friends and family because of the lively yet welcoming atmosphere. Every guest was made to feel welcome and well-cared for by the attentive and exemplary personnel.
Overall, I had an absolutely wonderful experience. Taste of the World is the perfect place to go if you're searching for a genuine Filipino dining experience that blends delectable food, cordial service, and a cosy atmosphere. I am very excited to return to this five-star gem!
I've been here for lunch twice and each time the food and service were impeccable. I vowed to keep coming back until I've eaten everything from their lunch menu. So far each meal was perfectly prepared and wonderfully flavorful! The host/ Waiter even recognized us from the last time!
I was in the area and went there on the first day for dinner. The owner Lisa was a delight, such a sweet soul, we chatted for a few and she recommended the Okoy as appetizer and I ordered the curry chicken as my entree. Both were amazing and the portions were huge. Before leaving, Lisa made me a cup of tea to go as the temperature started to drop. I went back the next day for lunch and the food was even better than the day before. I ordered Cuban Flan as dessert and I couldn't tell if I was in Miami or Virginia for so good it was. I will definitely go back when i am in the area!
This one is really a hidden gem: if you love authentic Islander and Asian food in general, and Filipino food in particular, look no further. The dishes are carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and always satisfying. The chef herself is Filipino, and cooks many traditional recipes. I have several friends from the Philippines who have eaten here regularly because it reminds them of home. 💙
Couple that with the quiet, evening dining atmosphere and the friendly service, this one is well worth a visit.
Recently visited taste of the world, it’s hard to find the place and the google maps messes it up and shows you that you have arrived in the middle of the road. The restaurant is in inside of the complex. When we arrived it wasn’t much crowded, the menu looked decent and the server was pretty friendly and he helped us choose the right options. Great little hole in the wall spot for Filipino food. Lumpia is great. So is pancit.
Delicious food. Always. Caring staff.
Portion size was good. Sauce was too salty. Overall dish lacked any pizza. Had the palak pancit
I have been to this restaurant many times for lunch and it never disappoints. This is a good place to meet friends who work in the Reston / Herndon area but I find it to be worth the trip coming from the Tysons area as well. Great value for money and a calm relaxing environment. Well done to Chef Liza and team!
I enjoyed the food. Want to try something out of your norm then I suggest here. Food is fresh and flavorful

And let's not forget the diverse array of culinary treasures awaiting your palate. From the tantalizing spices of Indian cuisine to the comforting flavors of Filipino fare, there's something here to satisfy every craving and ignite a culinary adventure unlike any other.
fantastic Filipino food and Indian dishes. highly rec. the turon as dessert! great service
Food was ok, menu seems a little all over the place and I’d think it could be made better if it focused more on the cuisines it specializes in (Indian, Filipino). Service was nice. Overall the restaurant had a dated and maybe a bit stale ambience. Perhaps because it was a slower night, we felt a bit under attended to.
Kachin kawali was very good. Overall the food had a very “home cooking” feel, which was good.
The young man working there (the owners son) is very polite and kind. I asked him which Filipino dish he would recommend. I didn’t quite feel like topsilog so I went with the kare-kare that seemed to be popular. It was no good. Sorry, I’m Filipino and what saved this dish was the bagoong. The ox tail was swimming in oil, there was no flavor except that it was too sweet. I almost asked for more bagoong. I moved the oxtail and the one baby bok choy and one eggplant out of the oil stew to my rice plate. The rice wasn’t the typical calrose or short grain rice. It was hard and dry. Didn’t try to eat it with my ulam. Left disappointed. Maybe the topsilog was the better choice.
WILL NOT SPEND OUR MONEY HERE AGAIN. THE MANAGER ADMITTED THE KNOWLINGLY PUT INEDIBLE STEAK ON THE MENU TO BE SERVED TO UBER ORDERS SO THAT THEY ARE NOT LIABLE FOR THE ORDER. THE MANAGER SAID SHE SHOULD'VE THEY REMOVED THE OPTION FROM UBER DUE TO ALMOST BEING OUT AND THEY RESERVED THE QUALITY CUTS FOR THE PEOPLE DINING IN TODAY. IT WAS ALL VOLUNTEERED INFORMATION THAT SHE THOUGHT WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE AND SMOOTHED OVER BY OFFERING A DISCOUNT. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SWINDLE, I HIGHLY SUGGEST SPENDING YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.
It's amazing the breadth of food at this place. It's not like every dish is the most perfect representation of that specific dish, but it's just such a fun place to go and try different things prepared well from all around the world
Had lunch with my sons. We went with the old reliables — tapsilog and lechon kawali. My food rating was mostly based on the fact that I also cook. My standards are a bit snobbish. Food was ok. The sauce for the lechon was a bit watered down, I thought. Like back in the day when you try to squeeze the last drop from the bottle of Mango Tomas sauce lol. The place was very quiet. Clean. Not bad for lunch. The owner was very nice and friendly as usual. I’d go back whenever I get the craving for home cooked Filipino food, but too lazy to cook it myself.

I came in on a rainy night (slow) but wow am I glad I did. The lamb (from Grandma's recipe) melted in the mouth. The wine list very international and reasonable
Easily the best restaurant in Herndon. If you’re looking for a spread of home-cooked authentic foods then look no further than A Taste of the World. The most warm and welcoming owners and staff. I’d bring any of my family here or people visiting to give them a taste of the best food in Northern Virginia.

Took forever for the food to get out, they forgot some of our orders, and took forever to give us the check after we asked for it.
Wide selection of food curated by the owner's travels. I ordered the Kare Kare, which was delicious.
Had lunch, the food is ok, I don't think there is anything special as compared with alternatives. The price is about 50% more than comparable places, and there is a 20% compulsory tip (without telling, for lunch, and for a small group). will not be back for pricy but mediocore food.
I was craving Filipino food and found this awesome place. Came at night so it was very chill and quiet but the staff was so sweet. I believe the owner was there and I loved her. Now the food was so delicious and flavorful. The lumpia was the best I’ve ever had. Dessert was mango with sticky rice and I’ve had some before but this was next level delicious. I will definitely be back and reccomend this place to satisfy your cravings :)
Okoy and lumpia are so good. Liza is an amazing hostess.
Me and my bf went to this restaurant for dinner. The place is very clean and cozy, and the staff was kind, quick, and helpful.
I had the butter chicken special, which was a solid pick. Very well seasoned curry, and a decent (but not overly large) portion. The naan with it was decent as well. Not the best naan (too chewy for my taste), but solid.
Would not mind going back here for dinner again if back in town.
I'll get chicken odono next time
Excellent Indo-Thai noodles and Babingka dessert. Never had anything like either dish. Great presentation and taste!! Absolutely coming back when I’m the area!!
Good restaurant that also serves filipino food!
I am an American man, came here with my Filipina wife and 4 of her friends. Food and service are outstanding. This deserves 6 stars. Locally owned, family operated. Do yourself a favor and get a great meal. Do your community a favor and dine at local establishments.
They were not even interested in serving food and having us
I highly recommend this place! It is a great place to get delicious food. A mixed variety of food from different cultures. Very friendly staff!
Delicious!
It was outstanding going there again
Absolutely delicious food! They were so friendly and gave us great recommendations on our food. The lumpia was so delicious. All of us left full to the gills.
Took my Filipino husband for his birthday. Did not disappoint and I love that there is an assortment of delicious entrees to try! Service was phenomenal! We will definitely come back.
Very good! A little bit of everything on the menu to please everyone!
Just came home at 2215. Too tired to write a proper review. I will modify this one tomorrow but the stars should already speak for me.
Spicy is not spicy hot, spicey adds flavor. Very good memu options.
Nice team, great food.
Great food!
The food was delicious and our server was so kind and made sure that the food was vegetarian for my husband. We really enjoyed the whole experience. I can't wait to return to try the lumpia!
ordered drunken noodle, and while it tasted good, definitely not spicy, the serving side for $16 was extremely small
Very small chicken serving size - half of what we normally get it other Thai restaurants.
I was expecting to stop at my very favorite spot for dinner tonight but it was closed when I arrived @ 9:30pm. I'm bothered but will be back before I go back home. A Taste of the World is the bomb.

Service was superb, friendly, courteous, and very professional. Recommendations were excellent, food was delicious. A great, family run restaurant!
Love the lechon kawali but they only serve a little bit like not more than 7 pieces.
Some of their dishes are quite great while others aren't so good. We tried the tilapia fish and it was wayyyy tooo salty. I guess they store meat for a lonnnng time. Even the chicken was quite hard. Flavors are good with a mix of taste. Ambience was very nice with tasteful decor

Ordered the sampler platter. Everything was cold and not enough food for a $23 price tag. Also would not let us make any substitutions, which should have been a red flag.
Food and service were 5 star quality!
OMG I LOVEEDDDD THE BUTTER CHICKEN, and there was AMAZING service as well. Aryan was really kind and gave us a lot of good recommendations on what to eat. Overall amazing experience 11/10!!!
Great place! However it is not a taste of the world. Only three or four different countries influences are provided for the dishes here. That being said, the food was good. I loved that I could ask our server(presumed owner) anything about the dish and he could tell me not only what is was but, what was in it, and, how it was prepared/made.Had a great time there and would go again, just not often due to the price point
Food was amazing...staff makes you feel at home...the food they recommend is top of the line!!!!
I booked a hotel close to the restaurant A Taste of The World after reviewing the menu I had to go and try the enticing menu. We had appetizers, dinner, and dessert. To begin the experience our server (owner) was welcoming from our entry. The menu was explained in detail with great recommendations. With our selections made there wasn't an item selected that wasn't AMAZING. I guarantee if you try this restaurant you will not be disappointed. The owners go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a great meal and experience. Also great prices and portions. Next trips to the area will include repeat visits. If you are visiting or live in the area try this GEM you will not regret it.
Nicest people on the earth!!! This is a family owned restaurant with amazing authentic food from all over. They go above and beyond with generosity, and overall friendliness. Next time I'm in D.C. I will definitely stop here!!!
This place is great! My second time here and Iwill come back next time I'm in town. Service is amazing and the food is fantastic 😋
The food and service was amazing. We've come here twice now, and the second time she remembered our orders from before. She's really nice and again their food is amazing!
Wonderful restaurant, very friendly and warm atmosphere. The food was excellent and made fresh to order!!
We ate here for the first time and really enjoyed it! Great variety of dishes and charming atmosphere. We will come back!
Had several dishes and each were amazing. Also desserts were great. Highly recommend
I can recommend the Chicken Curry.
Amazing food and great variety!
Some of the best food in the area. The menu offers a variety of dishes to cater to any craving. I definitely recommend checking this place out.
My two youngest daughters and I have visited this wonderful restaurant every Monday night over the past 6 weeks (except for the Monday, 23 Nov 20, before Thanksgiving). First, the ambiance is very warm, international, and comfortable. Second, the service is world class. Liza, the owner, is the perfect hostess and sisterly figure who simply desires to feed you (her extended family) with the best foods - she's become the incredibly accommodating Aunt to my daughters. My daughters now hug her before we leave. Third, the food is outstanding. I've been to the Philippines three (3) times and Thailand twice. I've eaten home cooked Philippine food all over the US with family and friends from the home-country (PI). I've even had lessons on how to make Lumpia Shanghai and Pancit (Philippine version of pasta-boiled and stir simmered rice noodles (or rice sticks per Philippine foodies)). My creations were actually considered good-to-very good by known foodies. Liza's creations are the best, by far, that I have ever enjoyed. And, Liza takes requests for spiciness, specific ingredients, and doneness. Me? I usually ask her to surprise me with an appetizer and main course. One of the best is the bulalo (beef bone marrow soup with hearty sirloin, boiled cabbage, and bok choy) - WOW! Make sure you order an extra serving of sticky rice. I use a fork and spoon to separate a bit of leafy vegetables, some of the sirloin, and a small bit of the yummy marrow (out of the bone) into the soup spoon. Then, scoop a bit of rice into the spoon with all of those elements, dip into the soup broth and enjoy one of the best combination of flavors EVER. Try each ingredient individually accompanied by rice and a quick dip into the soup broth...sheer culinary heaven. They also serve take-away and delivery. Enjoy!
Great diverse menu where everything is good. Great soups!
Met the owner Lisa. She's friendly and helpful. Though it has food from many places around the world, they specialize in Filipino and Indian food . There's a separate menu of just Filipino food.
I had the chicken tocilog: chicken in a sweet sauce, fried rice and two sunny side up eggs. The chicken is grilled. A really tasty dish. The lumpia is perfectly wrapped, but has a lot of cabbage and was a little undercooked.
It's worth the visit to try different foods, even Moroccan.
This is a good place to go for a reasonably priced variety of Asian cuisines, from the Mediterranean and India to the Philippines and Singapore.
Out of all the places I have been to eat this takes the throne no place can make up for the amount of great quality food. wonderful staff and workplace of my new great friend Raj. he is always happy to see you and will never let you down. this place has the best costumer service I have even seen and will NEVER let you down
Best place to eat in NOVA the Food is wonderful and the staff is great 10/10
Great food and wonderful staff
I would definitely recommend you stop by here for a delicious variety of lunch or dinner foods...you won't be disappointed! Great foods!

Best restaurant in Northern va hands down, great food, excellent service,, and good atmosphere. local family owned restaurant,, support these small biznesses during the covid 19 pandemic!!!
1) The smallest portions I've seen in my entire life. $30 for a few ounces of food
2) The quality of the food is very low; fatty, under-cooked, rubbery chicken; burnt naan
3) The food is almost flavorless, and what flavor there is is gross
Inedible. I threw it away.
Absolutely shameful.
This place was gem to find, especially right now. All the food was DELICIOUS. We haven't had Filipino food this good in a long, long time. The Indian curry was also spot-on. So very well spiced and flavorful but not hot spicy because they can adjust to order and we have a two year old who is not big on hot spicy at the moment.
ALSO the owner completely accommodated my gluten intolerance. We talked about the items I wanted to order and she went through each one to make sure it was safe AND THEN adjusted the ingredients in one so I could order/eat it. She even called back to double check an ingredient before cooking.
Finally, in these unusual times, they are offering only delivery and carry out to try to keep safe. They also wipe things down frequently as in immediately after I left she was wiping all of the door handles I touched and pen, etc...
If you are able to support local businesses by eating out in this time AND like amazing world cuisine - eat here now!! If you can't do it now, try it as soon as you can.
one of the best restaurants you MUST try when you are in the area
Delicious food and excellent service! Will be back soon
Amazing experience!
Amazing excellent service tonight. Food really good
excellent food and service
Waitress was very polite, helpful, and nice. Appetizers were flavorful and delicious but entrees were a bit low on salt and flavor and the serving was small for the price per entree.
Recommended for dinner but probably not a place to go to a lot. We ordered the phillipino food so we cant speak for everything else on the menu.
Excellent food and very attentive service.
Great food, eclectic menu, excellent hosts.
Good food and friendly service, I just wish the portions were bigger.
Great menu and prepared very well.
Great for dinner romantic or with friends.
Food was amazing
Been here numerous times...this family restaurant is a hit everytime. Lamb roganjoshn is amazing.
Bibimbop is my go to
Great value and service! Jerk chicken was tasty!
Friendly and courteous service. Authentic Filipino dishes were delicious, warm, and plentiful. Highly recommended.
This is small and simple restaurant with quite a diverse menu - Philipino, Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, Continental and so on. We ordered a variety of dishes - Butter Chicken with Naan, Thai Curry with Steamed Rice, Asian Chicken Wings, Chhole Bhatura and more. Everything was good - freshly made and delicious. Our kids enjoyed the chicken wings the most and wanted more! The service is simple and smiling. The prices are quite reasonable. Overall, a good value for money.
A real gem. Took the owner's recommendations, as many of the Philippines dishes were unfamiliar to us. The crispy pork belly with shrimp paste did not disappoint, and the lamb Rogan Josh was fall apart in your mouth tender. The menu is eclectic and concise. Don't skip dessert either, we had the rice/mango ice cream. Could the portions have been maybe 15% bigger? Sure, if I have to pick something. That said, I left happily full.
Great little place with big personality!
Great variety of food. Service was good and quick. Did not have to wait long for food. Parking lot is kinda small, not a wealth of seating inside the restaurant.
Food was great and the service was fast and friendly
Love this place. Delicious food and super friendly service. Will definitely be back when I'm in town.
This place is terrible. Do yourself a favor and stay away
Tasty food just wish the portion were a little bigger
Between the delicious food with authentic and delicate flavors, and the attentive service provided by the staff and owner I'm always glad to bring a friend here. I love the Sindhi Biryani and Philippino Pancid, but when friends have been more adventurous in selecting other dishes, their choices have been a great hit too!!
Wonderful food, large variety of menu items from various countries! Lovely staff and overall great atmosphere!
Amazing food. Great service!!
Delicious authentic Filipino food!! And the Owner is as genuine!! Love this place!
I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant. It's run by a wonderful family that takes great pride in their food and service. The recipes are all from family/friends, including all their homemade sauces. The flavors in every dish are unique, warm, and delicious (though I will say nothing on the menu is hot spicy). The food alone is enough to make me want to come back, but what absolutely sold me away was the hospitality and sense of home. We learned about the history of the restaurant and the family throughout the meal, and the chef came out at the end of our meal to greet us. It was so personal and wonderful. I will absolutely be coming here in the future, and this is now my favorite restaurant in the area.
Great food! Fantastic service!
One of the owners introduced us to the place; they took over 3 years ago after spending years on cruise ships with the hope of bringing all of the great foods they've experienced together with unique twists when inspired. There are foods from all over the world, so lots to explore and the owner speaks about his business partner and the wide selection with sincere pride.
Loved every dish we tried! Highly recommend all: the potato samosa appetizer, pancit & drunken noodles & Singapore noodles all with shrimp for dinner, finishing with the Turon dessert (with a twist since jackfruit is hard to procure fresh nearby).
Looking forward to visiting again and again at this local establishment.
I highly recommend the Okay appetizer, the pancit and arroz Cubana as well as Spanish empanaditas were pretty good as well.
Lovely, family owned and family friendly restaurant. Food is quite surprisingly good and broadly appealing. Service was beyond all expectations. Do yourself a favor and try the kale appetizer. All of us were amazed by it. It melts in your mouth like salty zingy cotton candy. We ordered 7 different dishes between us and enjoyed every one.
Good food
Great food.
The owner was very pleasant. He treated me warmly. Explained all the vegetarian options. My meal was ready in minutes. That concludes the pleasantries. I was totally and absolutely dissatisfied with the food. To say it tasted bad would be inaccurate. It had no taste at all. Too bad. It was a nice place. Well appointed and clean. Yet I shall never return
Service was excellent as usual. Waitress offered good suggestions on meals and the kitchen kept the spiciness level to my requested level. Which is good because some in my group can eat hot, hot, hot and not hurt.
Hard to find using google maps. The restaurant is behind Hyatt house (i had to call the restaurant and ask for directions. From Herdon drive, turn into Hyatt house, then drive through the hyatt's south parking lot to a hidden complex in the back. (A sign would have helped). The area can be described as professional industrial. There is a little garden patch of vegatables growing between the parked cars and the restaurant window below the dining area.
I had searched for "Lumpia near me" to satisfy a craving.
The lumpia were tiny. I got 9 the size of a man's pinky with a bowl of thin sweet chili sauce. They definitely tasted like they had been frozen. The mediocre pancit noodles were super fine and slightly salty. Searching for the chicken pieces reminded me of looking for jelly beans among An over abundance of easter basket grass.
The menu had entrees from a variety of countries. I feel as if the management should pick just 1 or 2 regions and focus on specializing their dishes rather than trying unsuccessfully to please everyone's random taste.
Delicious food. Really glad we stopped in!
Indo Thai noodles was one of the specials, I found it a bit sweet, chicken on it was tasty though. Notable food options was tofu and eggplant.
Excellent service and excellent food!
Service was great. Super friendly and helpful. However, the appetizers I ordered were cold in the middle and other spots, they must have been frozen or refrigerated and inadequately warmed, and the entree I ordered tasted like plain tomato sauce instead of the traditional flavor filled sauce it generally comes in. My tea was not sweet or rich as it normally is served either. The place was okay but not worth the money. Won't be going back.
Wide selection
Great variety in the menu. Tasty and good! Portion sizes were just right, and price was reasonable. I'll definitely be back.
Delicious varied foods. Something for everyone.
Terribly overpriced, one of us got food poisoning. Avoid at all costs.
Very interesting restaurant. Give a try to the specials. I think the best you can go are for the Philippine food. Very tasty. It's not super cheap but prices are fair. Service was good and courteous. I'd come back
Very good choices, good service. Enjoyed and would come again n
The Thai dishes did not live up to expectations--the tamarind sauce was not pronounced taste- or amount-wise. Also, the dishes had too much filler (some large greens).
Very nice food, recommended.
Hard to get to but worth the search! Amazing experience. Food was delicious and worth the price. Staff/service was wonderful. Definitely going back soon.
The food was delicious! It is a little hard to find, but once we did it was well worth it.
One of the best lamb roganjosh i ever had in US
I have been going here for years, this was a hidden jewel and I understand the ownership change hands ordered Red Thai Curry drove away after being charge $12 for lunch 25 minutes later I open my food and not only it is a very small portion but it is not Red Thai curry and it tastes terrible, I called to speak to the owner but she is out of town and the lady does not know anything. to make some changes is one thing but to change the recipe and call it the same thing is not right - the food is terrible the place looks dirty - never going back the worse $12 I ever spent - what a shame
Go with the s servers recommendations! The kale salad, lamb, and rum cake were phenomenal.
Fantastic food. Everything our host recommended was delicious. The Rum cake dessert made me pledge to return to this place. Prices very reasonable for the area.
Great food. Easy location
This restaurant is not worth the price, quantity and quality is subject par.
I got the fajitas, paid the extra $3 for the dinner. $16 total, I got two Tortillas, maybe a 1/4 cup black beans and a 1/4 cup rice, the steak is a cheap thin cut.
I also got a side order of fries, paid $3 for it. The fries are frozen crinkle cut and the amount I got was abysmal.
Got a sandwich for my co worker, he got the cuban. Paid $9 for it, the sandwich is a 5 in sandwich.
Save your money, go somewhere that will give you what you pay for.
Great food, nice staff
