We had a wonderful dining experience at Sisters Thai in the Mosaic District some time ago. The Thai food we ordered was cooked perfectly using fresh ingredients, and the flavors from authentic Thai sauces made each dish delicious. The menu had a lot of choices, from appetizers to main dishes and drinks to a variety of desserts. Along with traditional desserts like Sticky Rice with Mango, there were also Asian-inspired flavored cakes. The service was excellent, and we left the restaurant feeling very happy with our overall experience.

Pad Thai, green curry, and basil eggplant were delicious! From our experience, food was great. That being said, the seating situation could be improved during busy periods. We were seated exceptionally close to another party of two as many of the other tables were taken. Pricing is definitely on the higher end for Thai food in the area, however, food is very tasty and interior is very cute.

Had a wonderful Saturday lunch here with my family. Although the place was small, there was no wait time. The food had great flavoring and everything was cooked the right amount.

My visit to Sisters Thai restaurant, left me with mixed impressions. The drinks were amazing. While one of the appetizers showed promise, the entrees fell short in terms of flavor. The appetizers, such as the crispy wonton and chicken satay(a bit dry) were decently prepared and provided a good introduction to Thai flavors. However, when it came to the main courses, I found them to be lacking in the bold and authentic flavors I had expected. The curry lacked the depth and complexity I usually associate with Thai cuisine, and the stir-fried dishes had too much of fish sauce. Despite the disappointment with the entrees, the service was attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, while it has potential, it could benefit from improving the flavor profiles and consistency of its main dishes to truly deliver a satisfying Thai dining experience.

A little on the pricy side especially for the street food style entrees, but this ain't Thailand. Sisters Thai is really tasty though!

They're dog friendly, and the food is consistently good. We had to wait for 10 minutes so we could put two tables together, and we had a dog in our party.

Love their lunch specials, unfortunately we went on presidents day and they weren't offering them. Had Pad That and Drunken Noodles and it was very good, as always. Service was good and efficient.

The food was really good. The only issue is that the portion sizes could have been a little bigger. I like to eat!

I’m love this place , no complaints it’s delicious and spicy

The food here was delicious, just the right proportion, and just the right level of spicy. It was not quite Thai-hot, but if you are only used to American food you might need an extra glass of water...lol The inside of the restaurant is decorated wonderfully and cozy. I appreciated their attention to detail when they asked about any food allergies.. I would definitely recommend this place and intend to return.

I never thought this restaurant's quality would go down the hill. The authentic Thai flavor is gone!!! They overcharge the much smaller portions also.
Never thought I would pay $7.00 for Thai tea. I ordered my favorites: Tom Yum soup and Beef Basil. Both were completely disgusting! The soup was super tomato pasti and the curry lacked the authentic Thai sauce and flavor. It's unfortunate because this is where you would get close to homemade Thai food! :(

I wish I had read the recent reviews before dining here! Never thought that a place can go downhill so quickly in terms of food & service that within 8 months it feels like this is a completely different restaurant.
Food is mediocre at best. Bland with consistency of Panang curry same as that of clear soup just like water!! Teeny tiny portion of rice as a side. Crispy (read not!) eggplant was soggy and tasteless. The fresh rolls were a joke, two tiny rolls cut in half for $11 also, missing the ingredients. Khao suey was palatable. I was beyond disappointed with not just the lack of taste but also the service !! We had to ask for water each time even though the servers were standing right next to our table but continued to only stare at us as we were not their table! Also, they charged 20% service charge for a party of 5 for a joke of service ! 4 different servers tried to rush my brother into finishing his meal in a matter of 5 mins. I would NEVER return here. Spoilt our evening!

I came with my friends expecting that I would spend delicious time!But very sadly one of the staff she is very very rude!!!! Coming asking for every 5 min “ you need to go box?” “ you want Apple Pay” , didn’t even finish our orders , where she multiple times interrupting while I was talking to my friend and also she has very bad attitude…

Me and my friends came to the restaurant and ordered some food .. as we are not aware that they are having this 1hr policy or something. Where they would only allow a customer for 1 hr and as we are still eating the food, the waitress is asking us again and again for bill or asking if we need any to go boxes and others …

and later in 5 minutes .. she asked us to leave explaining her policy as we still didn’t even complete the food . I don’t think this is good for any customer..we felt very embarrassed.

This place has pure racist staff. Poor customer service I would say they literally pushed us to leave without completing our food. They came for every 5 minutes and pushed us to finish our dinner at a non busy working monday 😂. When we asked is there any fixed time for table they said it's 1 hour funny part is they are only asking us and we just completed 40 minutes lol. Thank you for hosting Racist people

The food is the best part here, the rest of the decor and atmosphere feels claustrophobic TO ME (my opinion), next time I would eat outside, if possible, it feels so hot and crowded inside, I know some ppl like that but I like to have room to eat without the next table guests breathing on my food. Also if you have ADHD or ADD or sensory issues, I would do carry out, it's a lot of sensory overload and loud noises, it's a cramped little space but again FOOD ROCKS!

Went here twice only because I love Thai food. I don't understand why this place is always packed and busy. The first time, I went with 5 groups of people, and we shared 6 dishes, but we were all still hungry due to the small portion . Tomyang soup was terribly salty it was an appetizer size even though we ordered the main manu. Today, they rejected me because I have a baby in the stroller. They told me they can't have a stroller in the restaurant. If you have a small baby, i guess you are not welcome in this place. Don't worry, I will never go back to your place every again!

We been there several times food is , service is good also. Only problem the we mentioned it to the manager is the extremely loud music indoor or outdoor!!! I was really disappointed with my experience at Sisters Thai in Mosaic. The portion sizes were shockingly small — I left feeling hungry after my meal. But the worst part was the overpriced drinks. I ordered a glass of white wine for $16.00, expecting a decent pour, but what I got was a baby wine glass with less than half a portion. It felt like a complete rip-off. Definitely not worth the money. I won’t be coming back.

Went in for an online order pick up. It was my second time coming in to Sisters Thai in quite some time so I wasn’t familiar with the layout as it’s been months since my last pick up. Went inside and stood by the bakery area visible to the bar staff. No one greeted or acknowledged or even came up to me and see what I needed. The man with glasses at the bar even looked at me twice so someone knew I was there they just didn’t seem to bother with it. It wasn’t until the waitress that was outside came in and asked me what I needed help with. I even asked her for clarification for the next time where I should have gone to pick up my order whether it was at the bar or by the bakery area. I know it wasn’t her fault, she seemed to be the only active person working while the rest were just hanging out and cracking jokes. I all about the work life comradery but not when you have active customers coming in and out of your restaurant.

I had their crab curry during restaurant week and it was one of the best meals i ever had and ive tried reaching out to the restaurant about this dish which has disappeared since then but to no avail.

Today, my wife, our two kids (3 years old and 3 months old), a friend, and I visited Sisters, a restaurant we have frequented and loved for its food. Unfortunately, today’s experience was a major disappointment due to poor customer service.

From the start, the hostess asked us to remove our child from the stroller and fold it before entering, citing a lack of space, even though the restaurant was less than half full. Later, when I took my child to the bathroom to use the changing table, no changing tables were in the men’s bathroom, but I can deal with that

When we asked for the check, we were surprised to see a 20% service charge added. Upon inquiry, we were told it was because we were a party of five. While I can understand counting my 3-year-old as part of the party since we brought him fries from Shake Shack, including my 3-month-old seemed unreasonable. They insisted he counted as one and that charge was also for the fries we brought we are very disappointed and feel discriminated against by the servers and the manager, who seemed to be laughing at us about our concern! Counting a 3 month old as part of the party doesn’t seem correct

The food is amazing and the staff is always friendly.

The dishes were watered down with minimum possible meats and not enough vegetables. They short changes us by charging for extra rice that did not come with the food.

Had an amazing time at Sisters Thai. The food was incredible and the waiter provided excellent service, even going so far to help me with choosing what to eat for my meal. The only qualm I have with this restaurant is that the tables are very close together, so you feel almost on top of the patron next to you. Other than that, dinner was fabulous!

Good taste for Thai

It is hard to write a harsh review about a place that I frequently visited, a place that was and is not a ‘huge chain’ just a cozy place to have lunch or dinner. I constantly brought my coworkers for lunch and my best friend for dinner... not anymore!

This review is not about food or service, still fine; my review is about shrinking plates, higher prices and tips.

YES, everybody cries inflation, however when everyone keeps repeating that and increasing their prices to keep their profits intact is hard to understand. The food was still good, size not the same, a good shrinking happened.

It’s common to charge $4 for a glass of tea? or start the tip at 20-25% on top of taxes at 10%... I guess our local gems need to reflect a bit, without us they fail, better reflect on it!

BTW: Drunken Noodle was my favorite, Pad Thai (my pic) still ok, nothing fancy...

I’ve been a patron of Sister Thai in Fairfax City for an over a decade now. It’s my go-to Thai place on NoVA.

This branch at Mosaic is no different. I took my mom for an early dinner and we ordered new dishes we haven’t tried before; massamun chicken and Pad See Ew. We also had our regular app, Green Curry with Roti. Everything was finger-licking good. Service is fast, and service is immaculate. This is basically the level of quality and service you’d want to receive from all restaurants.

This branch is a walking distance from work, and I’ll be coming back for lunch specials.

A lucky find on Google Maps. Food was excellent and the service just as good. Phad Thai was what I was craving. We will definitely try other menu items next visit.

I ordered Pad Thai with pork, but I received one with chicken! (The check though indicated Pad Thai with pork!!!!). It was a weekend and I had come from a hike, hungry and tired, and didn't want to wait longer while everyone else in my group was having their lunch; thus, I didn't complain. But then I noticed the taste was not even mild spicy. I jad to poir curry suause from my friend's dish to add some taste to it. Also, for appetizer, we had ordered Sisters Wings; what we received had both wings and drumsticks. It was well cooked and delicious though. In addition, another member of my group had ordered curry, but realized it was not fully cooked.

Amazing food. Thai Food gets so close to the authentic version. Although I see that the classic Pad Krapow is served with beef pieces rather than minced beef, which is still okay. The service was friendly and the food was super delicious. Please do visit if you happen to be on the street.

My recent dining experience at Sisters Thai Mosaic left much to be desired. Both the food and service fell short of expectations. We encountered several mishaps, including receiving the wrong appetizer on two occasions. Additionally, my ordered soup, intended as a starter, was forgotten and only brought out later alongside the entrees. To add to the disappointment, our entrees arrived cold. When we informed the server, the solution offered was to reheat the dishes in the microwave. Overall, the dining experience at Sisters Thai was marred by these unfortunate incidents, leaving us dissatisfied with the quality of both the food and service.

3 stars because the host asked us to give our seat away even tho we had apps, entree and desserts. Please have signs stating that dining is for 90 mins. My friends and I are still surprised that happened. I would’ve also liked if they told us and gave us more time (at least five mins) it felt abrupt and cold

I found a cockroach in my Pad Thai at this restaurant, which is gross and not safe for eating. It makes me worry about the cleanliness here. They need to clean up better to keep customers healthy. I won't be coming back until they fix this problem.

Hair in the food which looked like either pubic or facial hair. Disgusting!!! They barely apologized and seemed not to care much. To add insult to injury they slapped an automatic 20% tip to an already pretty expensive bill ($209 for 4 people). I would not have tipped 20% after getting hair in my food and I expected a bigger apology.

Khao soi was a delectable and inspiring view into Northern Thai cuisine. It was creamy, fresh lemongrass flavor, and seasoned very well. Came with a nice heaping portion of crispy noodles on top.

Duck ka prow was an absolute garlic explosion of flavor. The duck was moist, crispy, and lay on a bed of steamed veggies. The sauce was a little fishy and had some vinegar. Overall a favorite dish.

Came around 2pm on Sunday and had no trouble getting a table without a reservation.

I waited a lot, and it wasn't terrible. I looked at the ambiance a lot. Read the chalk notes on the slate wall decorations. I saw lists of drinks I did not order. I looked at other patrons I did not know. I read the menu of standard items I did not order. I waited for the food I did order. I tolerated the VERY EXCITED waiter I did not like to SERIOUSLY TAKE DOWN my request for extra spicy and wait patiently while he, or the backroom staff, decide that "whiteboy is idiot and doesn't know what thai spicy is haha lala haha MILD IT IS!" My wife doesn't like spicy and said this wasn't even up to her level, What I got wouldn't bother my toddlers. I can't see any reason to visit this place again.

Sister Thai is my go to Thai restaurant since I move to Virginia. The service es always great and the food never disappoints. My favorites are the duck rolls, drunken noodles, all curry dishes and pad thai. Also, drinks and cakes are pretty good.

UPDATE: Food here time after time year after year is always fairly solid and consistent.
However on our last visit, we went at 8:30 for dessert (restaurant closes at 9:30) and were told we had to take it to go, we could only dine in for a meal. The woman at the dessert counter just kept shaking her head with a mean look on her face. There were plenty of tables and we were planning on ordering many desserts. Too bad for the lack of customer service, we took our business elsewhere.

Everything was just right, service, atmosphere, the food, etc... except the price was way too expensive. We ordered Phuket Island which had a real good flavor. But only had 4 pieces of shrimp, two pieces of small pieces of octopus and one scallop. On the description, was supposed to have crabmeat but didn't see any for $27. Thai spices with coconut milk had very special and different flavor which we never had before. Three stars due to price.

On the outside it looks like a French Cafe or bookstore but the food is anything but. Got the crispy ducky curry, green bamboo curry, pad thai, and pad see ew. All were excellent especially the duck curry. Flavors were balanced but strong. Restaurant is very small and very crowded. Service was fast and accommodating despite this. DOES NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS

Sisters Thai is a nice and casual spot to enjoy great Thai food. The service was smooth and professional. Our group of three walked right in and were seated without waiting. Our server was quick and got all our orders correct with attention to food allergies. The menu offered many different options for all kinds of dietary needs. I had the drunken noodles with chicken and the portion size was large. The dish was super tasty and the spice was amazing. I also had a Thai iced tea that was so delicious. The atmosphere is one of a kind. It's like you're eating in a fancy library. Highly recommend Sisters Thai!

well, I heard a good about "sisters' thai" so I went last night around 6PM. The servers were not kind. Food came out quickly, but it was very basic. And, we were still eating, the servers kept trying to clean up. I told a multiple time that I am still working on it. I understood that there were people waiting but felt very pressured to finish quickly and get out. As soon as I finished my dish, the server took my plate without asking. I wouldn't go back there.

Business lunch here was great! Definitely recommend the ginger sauce.

This deserves just 1 star. This establishment needs some more training on customer service. Encountered an extremely rude young lady at the front, although she managed to greet other patrons with a smile on her face and in a polite manner. Been here a few times and the service is always mediocre. There’s much better THAI places in the area with BETTER customer service. Please whoever the owners are, get some new staff who actually wants to work and knows how to treat people. We also left this place. It was clear we were not wanted in this establishment. Never will i ever step foot again in here. I hope other people consider this too!

Additionally, i had a stroller as well like some of the other reviews. The tone and rudeness i received about the stroller needs to be put to the side. Stroller being put to the side was fine, but she acted like i was supposed to just leave my infant outside while that was being done.

Poor STAFF management. Ugh.

What a gem! Service and food were outstanding. It's probably the best Thai food we ever had. We certainly enjoyed it and will come back if we are in the area.

Being located in the swanky Mosaic district, I was pleasantly surprised at the decent portion size on my drunken noodles. Level 1 spice was a perfect medium for me. Agree with numerous reviews that the spacing is very tight. Thank goodness the next table over wasn't occupied. Two entries + small app + water = $55

The food was decent but our experience wasn’t great. The music was so loud in and near the bathrooms (where we were seated) that you could not hear anything.There were 4 or 5 employees working and all of them were behind the counter most of the time we were there despite a pretty full place. The staff was distracted and inattentive focused more on chatting with each other and texting. Due to this lack of attention, we were charged for someone else’s bill. Automatic gratuity is added onto the bill at 20% so it’s not a wonder the servers do not care. Mistakes happen but dining here left a bad impression on me and my family.

We had a great time at sisters Thai! Everything was delicious and we were surprised at how fast everything came out too.

They don’t take reservations so there are wait times. We were a party of 4 and had about a 30 minute wait. The menus were designed like a newspaper which I thought was cool and something different. We started with the chicken satay and crispy wontons. Both were so good, and the peanut sauce that came with the chicken satay was amazing. I got the ka prow for my main dish which is chicken stir fried in basil and a chili garlic sauce. It was delicious and spicy too which I liked. Everyone loved their dishes. I also tried the chicken festival which had some of the best fried rice I’ve had.

Overall I loved my experience here and I definitely want to come back!

Excellent food for the price. Very crowded.

Food was great, but service not so much.

Had the duck ka prow. Duck was good, but vegetables had no flavor (they had not even seen salt in their short lives). The entire dish was lukewarm, which means it had been sitting out. Asked for spicy (a step below Thai spicy) but it was as spicy as the wind, which was really disappointing. Friends recommended the restaurant and I’d be willing to try something else but overall for the price and lack of taste/spice/temperature there are much better Thai places in the area.
The server also never came by to fill our waters or check on us much.
I’m not sure if I was being spice profiled, but my Asian friend ordered “mild” and it was as spicy, if not spicier, than my dish.

Ordered yellow curry potatoes were undercooked and chicken completely lacked flavor

I had to change my first pad thai due to soaked and overcooked noodle quality. They took it back and The second plate was perfect. Tom Yam soup needed extra limes due to strong fish flavor.
Foos here is delicious overall.

Service, decor, and drinks are always great here. Been here multiple times because friends like this place but food is always a miss for me. My go to's at any Thai place is panang curry, pad thai, and duck rolls and I just don't enjoy sister's flavors. Panang curry is bland and pad thai is too sweet and duck meat is dry. If you have to go here, suggest going outside of their busy times as it gets super packed.

Delicious and consistent Thai Food from the Sisters. From appetizers, drinks, and food. Sisters Thai brings it all together. And with a variety of options, you could come back a dozen times and still have more to choose from.

My visit to Sisters Thai restaurant, left me with mixed impressions. The drinks were amazing. While one of the appetizers showed promise, the entrees fell short in terms of flavor. The appetizers, such as the crispy wonton and chicken satay(a bit dry) were decently prepared and provided a good introduction to Thai flavors. However, when it came to the main courses, I found them to be lacking in the bold and authentic flavors I had expected. The curry lacked the depth and complexity I usually associate with Thai cuisine, and the stir-fried dishes had too much of fish sauce. Despite the disappointment with the entrees, the service was attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, while it has potential, it could benefit from improving the flavor profiles and consistency of its main dishes to truly deliver a satisfying Thai dining experience.

I was excited to see the awesome reviews of this establishment. I ventured here with my 6-month old who was asleep. Upon arrival, there was a sign stating, “No strollers allowed”. Ok got it! I can understand how bulky a stroller can be. I also planned to sit outside on the patio due to this. The “hostess” came out while helping another guest , made me feel extremely unwelcome. First, she attempted to seat me with my stroller and another guest in a cramped area of the patio. I then asked to be seat across from this area, which appeared to have more space. That appeared to be a problem as she wanted me to again pack in with another table. I then pointed and inquired about the table that was spacious and open and she sat me there. Keep in mind place was not busy. Before I could put my bag down she signaled with her hands and stated can you move this in? I could barely sit down! I then voiced I didn’t feel accepted and discriminated against and she said nothing. Picked up the menus and carried on. Nice to know that if you have a stroller and child you’re an inconvenience and not welcomed or accommodated. NEVER AGAIN

Fried duck curry medium spicy is the best

The wonderful decor on the walls and in the bathrooms made for a playful experience. The beef drunken noodles were bursting with flavor. Very well done. We tried several curries that were also very good, but I did not get to take a picture.

This restaurant's been here for years but the professional customer service and the food quality are still the same. Bravos!

The food is ok. Lunch specials portion is not generous enough, what do you expect from $15 lunch menu in northern va. I rather pay dinner portion.
The place is so tiny, and the service is not friendly.
I came there around 1:30 pm and waited for my friends to arrived, instead take me to my table, i had to wait in the little corner.
There are empty tables everywhere, they are not friendly.

I don’t recommend this place if you have big group.

I like this place. My biggest gripe is that it's too crowded and not enough space. They need a new place, or expand.

Ambiance was really good.
We ordered some appetizers which were below average as the chicken was dry and under-seasoned.
The main course was good though.
We went during the weekend and the place was tightly packed as if everyone is sitting at a single table. This becomes uncomfortable.

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant, although a bit different. Even the restroom was uniquely decorated. Our kids told us that this was their favorite restaurant in Virginia and that there is usually a huge wait in the evenings. We came during lunch and didn't wait at all. Our noodles were spicy while our rice was sweet. They had a fantastic strawberry lemonade that I thoroughly enjoyed. My wife had a drink that they created, leaving a lovely image on the top of it. We don't find ourselves in Virginia that often, but when we return, I will be happy to come here again. Excellent!

Pedimos arroz frito pegajoso, arroz blanco, fideos y pollo al curry. El sabor fue excelente y la espera era mínima. Definitivamente un nuevo lugar favorito!

Food is good but poor staff management.
Servers don't care about clients because they should be ready to go home by 10:00.
They started brooming right after my dish came to my table and turned off the music in the middle of eating. There were other tables working on but just they dont care.

My experience with this restaurant was very unpleasant. I ordered a non-spicy pad Thai online and when I tasted the food at home, it was extremely spicy to the point where I couldn't take a second bite. Although I generally enjoy spicy food, this was too much for me.

When I contacted the restaurant the lady who answered the phone was very rude. She interrupted me while I was explaining what happened and immediately asked if I wanted a new dish or a refund. Since I didn't want to drive back to the restaurant from Reston, I chose the refund option. However, before I could finish my sentence, she abruptly hung up on me!

Overall, I was very disappointed with the customer service at this restaurant. However, I cannot provide much feedback about the food since it was too spicy for me to eat

Excellent cuisine options and very friendly staff. Went on a date and we were very satisfied with the responsiveness of the staff.

My partner and I double dated at this location around 7pm on a Friday in mid-April. They do not take reservations and the whole party needed to be there before we were seated. There wasn't a wait when we got there, but I definitely felt pressured to have my entire party there soon or they would give the table away. And it appeared as though if you wanted to sit outside, there are only 2-seater tables. When our party finally did arrive, we were seated right away in the back corner of their small establishment. The vibe was lively but intense. The space was smaller and there was a moment a couple were seated next to our table and they asked to move because we were seemingly too loud (I'm assuming, of course!). The food we ordered was INCREDIBLE though! No complaints there!! We got ka prow, pad see ew, pad Thai, fried rice with crab and everything was amazing!! Couldn't get enough really! We would definitely go again!

This place has a variety of items on their menu, lots of drink options and dessert. We got some of our favorite dishes and the taste was spot on. The servers were nice, food came out fast and extremely fresh.
