Authentic Thai cuisine daily fresh. Owner operated, cooking with love
What a gem of a find! Hands down, this is the best Thai restaurant I’ve experienced in SLC. The food? Absolutely divine—bursting with authentic flavors that had me savoring every bite and already dreaming of my next visit.
I ordered the Tom Kha soup served in a hot pot at heat level 1, and let me tell you—it was perfection! The balance of creamy coconut, fragrant herbs, and just the right hint of spice was top-notch. My partner opted for the drunken noodles at heat level 3 and raved about their bold, flavorful kick. He even mentioned he could’ve gone for a level 4, so spice lovers, take note!
The service was just as stellar as the food. Our waitress was a ray of sunshine, radiating warmth and joy that perfectly matched the restaurant’s vibrant energy. This place isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience!
Lovely service, cozy seating and delicious food!
I got the vegetarian "khao soi" with tofu and vegetables, and the broth was super delicious and the quantity was great. Pickled cabbage was a wonderful flavor hit in there.
"Cheese wontons" were a little too flowy and sweet for my taste though.
Nice welcome to the city!
I discovered Sala Thai Kitchen through DoorDash when I arrived in Salt Lake City, and it quickly became a favorite. The food is consistently great, clean, and fresh-tasting. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered from them three consecutive times. Today, I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant in person, and the service was awesome. I tried the drunken noodles, and they were absolutely delicious. Sala Thai Kitchen has become one of my favorite spots for Thai food! Vegan options are available 😍.
Loved everything we ordered! Some of the best Thai I’ve tried in Utah. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Portions are big and can be shared between 2-3 people. Our waiter was nice and the service is great. We dined it and it wasn’t crowded but I noticed they are busy with lots of to go orders. So glad we found this place and can’t wait to go back again!
Crispy chicken pad thai is my favorite
Hidden gem, get the Khao Soi they have the best.
Amazing thai
My son tried the level 5 and it was so spicy, but the staff was amazing and having fun with us.
Even thought I was picking up food, I was not concerned a customer and could not use the bathroom. Very unfriendly and hostile. The restaurant is always empty. Won’t be around long.
Delicious! Loved it except I accidentally walked in on a guy in the restroom and he made me feel like he left it unlocked on purpose. 😑 Otherwise, loved the food and the servers were very attentive and kind. 🙃
I just got takeout & it is absolutely divine! The restaurant itself looked very inviting as well. Will definitely be returning! Thank you Sala.
My favorite Thai restaurant in all the world!!!!!
This is our go-to Thai place. We love the dishes and the staff is extremely friendly. Never had a bad experience.
Love the vegan options that are clearly noted on menu.

Wonderful, unassuming , local Thai fare! The Service staff are always solid! Welcoming and educated on the menu ( vegan options). Khao soi is not always offered at Thai restaurants around SLC and when I do find it on a menu it’s not always vegan unfortunately, however they do their best to accommodate and it is fabulous! 🤤 🥘 🍜 🌱 🌶️ 🍛
Their larb is fresh and on point. The spice level options are solid and can be minimal for the heat averted, yet can be very intense as well if that’s what you’re looking for! 🥵
Solid vegan options and awareness here!
Good vegan options
Pad Thai was exceptional, Pineapple fried rice delicious. Jackfruit dessert tasty!
Fav curry in SLC - could live off of green and panang.
Amazing Tom Kha and service!
Always the kindest hosts, and this team makes the MOST DELICIOUS meals! So very many thanks!
Food is avarage .The woman who gave me my food is so happy sweet . Definitely coming back.
Not the vibe. Service was awful food was mediocre minus. Been waiting for my check with an empty glass an no plates.
Fresh orchids for garnish:)
Wonderful food and service:)
Food is creative and delicious. I am always amazed at the beautiful presentation and delightful new dishes to explore. I always feel so welcome. Service was excellent.
Lovely service, cozy seating and delicious food!

Sala Thai Kitchen never disappoints when it comes to their Pad Thai, which is hands down the best in town. The balance of flavors—from the tangy tamarind to the crunchy peanuts—hits just right.
Delicious. Fast and friendly service.
Great food. Sketchy neighborhood and our waitress didn’t speak a lick of English.
We love the food here! We dine in take out and order delivery! It's always amazing! Green curry is my fave along with drunken noodles
Excellent, delicious food and fast, Friendly service. Our favorite Thai restaurant!
This is a very good place if you are looking for a hole in the wall Thai place. The servant wasn’t necessarily bad I just think they were a little understaffed and it took some time to get their attention. Other than that no complaints!
This place is the bomb! Good is fresh and don’t forget to order dessert, the mango sticky rice is the best!
The food is very unpleasant and the service is terrible. I do not recommend it at all.
I ordered the crispy chicken pad thai, take out. It was ready within 10 minutes. Really tasty and I'm picky. Flavor profiles of the chicken and noodles with the lime, 🌶 sauce, and peanuts on the side. Amazing. A little hack try it with a dab or two of their peanut sauce that comes with the spring rolls. 😋
I can’t recommend sala thai enough. Every time I get food here I feel so fullfilled. It’s just as good as my Thai mama in law. My coworkers and I order here all the time as well. Portions are big and I always have leftovers for lunch the next day :)
Best Thai in the valley, fresh ingredients, flavors you can't get at the chains...
Great food and very clean place. 🤙🏽
The food was extraordinary and very delicious as well as perfectly seasond. It was possible to say how spicy you wanted it from 1-5 so everybody could eat every dish there. It was the best Thaifood we ate in America.
This is an excellent spot for Thai cuisine. We tried the fried rice with crispy chicken and pad see ew, both of which were delicious and perfectly spicy. I'd definitely return for the food. However, the service was lacking. We waited 15 minutes just to receive the menu and a glass of water. The table wasn't clean, and the server seemed indifferent throughout our visit. We didn't even get a water refill. While the food quality is outstanding, the service was quite disappointing. I hope they improve and look forward to visiting again with better service.
I came here on a short layover and was very happy with the service and quality of food! Everything came fast and the curry was so delicious. It also has a very nice atmosphere.
Ordered some pad thai & fried rice. They were average. Overpriced compared to portion sizes. The food was good but average. Had some lychee tea & Thai tea to gulp it down. Thai tea already came mixed. It was likely not fresh, so only took sips to be on the safe side. Otherwise, both drinks tasted good & were well priced.
BLIND Uber eats pick! Amazing noodles! We got the pad Thai and drunken noodle and we both ate every last bite it was fresh and hot……. When do you ever get hot from
Uber eats??? If I could give you ten stars I would….. the spice was perfect and the vegetables were crisp and crunchy. We will be re ordering!
I came here to get an order of spring rolls and could hear a bunch of people in the back SPEAKING SPANISH and totally ignoring the front of the house. When they FINALLY came out, the Mexican or South American witch who DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH was very abrupt and short with me! WHY ARE MEXICANS RUNNING A THAI RESTAURANT? The spring rolls had ROTTEN SHRIMP in them and they smelled so awful they had to be tossed!! This is absolutely unacceptable and the fact it's MEXICANS running the place, I'll never, ever be back and I will also be discouraging others from patronizing this joke!
This is the best Thai restaurant we have ever found anywhere! And we always look for Thai when we travel. Lemongrass soups out of this world! Try the spicy eggplant, also excellent. And it is Thai Peruvian fusion--- a great combination! We will be back soon!
Wonderful little restaurant, the food was delicious and came out quickly. The pumpkin curry was a delightful consistency and packed with flavor. Definitely a good place for Thai food
Food is average. I have tried many other Thai restaurants. So, compared with my other restaurant visit, this feels like average in taste. Also, getting the bill when we finished eating took a lot of time.
Such excellent food. I meet Chef Pop. She has a book with so many recipes. She used to share her cooking skills and recipes with thousands of students when living in Indonesia. Wish she taught classes in SLC, because I would sign up in a heartbeat.
Gluten free to perfection!
Amazing food
Even though the neighborhood is a little questionable, the food, service, and inside atmosphere were excellent.

did delivery
order ran 88 dollars food was picked up fast and diliverd fast was cold (should not have been) the amout of food we got as a comparison would have been the amount of a bigger plat plus a extra side. I would not recomend this place at all if this is normal if not normal when asking for compensation one should have been given. pleas look at my other reviews and you will see I am fair on most of them. and this is my only 1 star review that should say something.
I was reading all the other reviews shocking how many are similar to mine I also notes-ed something that should be addressed.
people who give less then 3 stars the owner turns into a Karen on them, instead of taking it as criticism to improve things.
many one stars she climes they where not customers that could be true. but if she can remember them to that point the real feed back should be listend too, portion size is a common complant only one time did she reply to that giving the portion size that she uses. to justify small portion sizes. blan and over and under cooked (I had both issues) many of these complaints where years old too so we know that she dos not listen to feedback at all.
the few times I have been in there to pick up dilivery orders place was clean and the oder was a standerd you get in thai restronts . I gave them a try jest becus of that (worst Thai I have ever had including the time when I was in Australa whos most dishes where off )
The woman who gave me my food is so happy sweet and beautiful. Definitely coming back.
So delicious and fresh and happy for my tummy that I almost cried 🥹. They are so friendly and the vibe is cozy and quiet.
Love this spot
Sala is just... So good! You can tell a lot of experience goes into this food. I try to visit in person or pick up because eating it fresh is like transitioning into a 20 minute dream from a world of nightmares.
Cheers
the best place for thai food never going anywhere else!
Food is good but I ordered on uber eats and requested utensils because I just moved into a new apartment and don't have any, and none were included.
Worst Thai food I have had in a long time. Only went there because my usual spot (lawn na Thai) was closed. I was extremely disappointed.
Delicious food and amazing presentation, great portion sizes. Loved the cream cheese wontons, Tom kha soup, snd massamam. Will be going back.
So glad we found this great restaurant!
Food is very, very good. Good price, amazing staff, huge portions and quick serve.
I highly recommend the spring rolls, egg rolls, dumplings and to try both Pad Thai with Crispy Chicken and the Fried Rice with Crispy Chicken. It’s nice to get it all and share with friends.
Their Thai Tea is also very, very good!
Love this place. I consider myself a regular. Food is always fresh, authentic and the service is outstanding. I’ve had many many menu items and never been disappointed.
Not sure why the staff thought it was appropriate to speak to me in Spanish.. fortunately I understood what was said. I will not be returning.
They are super quick and the food is so yummy! Definitely a new favorite spot!
The place has a very strong aroma, not to mention that the people who serve it (not all of them) are very rude.
Solid Thai place
Really delicious.
First impression was questionable because of location. But you will surprise by their food. Fresh ingredients! Spiciness are mostly mild. This place is my only Thai restaurant to go.
Totalmente recomendado , la comida deliciosa y la atención muy buena 👍
The food really isn’t good. I put not spicy and it was spicy. The vegetables in the curry I couldn’t even chew. The pad Thai wasn’t good and the wings were really fatty. I had to spit most of the wing out because it was all fat.
The food was excellent. We were impressed with everything about this place. Highly Recommended.
One of our SLC favorites. We usually get takeout, but the dining room is also beautiful! I particularly love the vegetarian tom kha here.
Loved their vegan yellow curry!
Huge portions of delicious food. There was such depth to the flavors of the green curry, panang curry, and khao soi that we ordered. The food came out super fast after putting our orders in with the server.
Excellent dining and extremely consistent quality!! Khao soi is soooo good I can’t help but order it every time I go 🩷
Excellent food
Sala Thai restaurant offers a dining experience that truly exceeds expectations. The service here is exceptional, with a friendly and attentive staff that ensures every guest feels welcomed and well-cared-for. What sets Sala Thai apart is their impressive array of vegan options, catering to the growing demand for plant-based dining. The food, both vegan and non-vegan alike, is incredibly delicious, showcasing the skillful craftsmanship of the chefs who expertly blend traditional Thai flavors. I wholeheartedly recommend trying Sala Thai; the combination of outstanding service, diverse vegan choices, and mouthwatering food makes it a dining destination I would eagerly return to.
Food is OK if not a bit bland. It’s very pricey for the small portion size. $18 before tip for a pad see ew in a small to-go container. They skimped on soy sauce, the noodles are light like a pad Thai. Also their machine asks for 25%/30% tip. It’s a bit ludicrous.
My husband and I have eaten here many times now and haven’t had a single bad experience. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. We highly recommend their green curry, panang curry, pumpkin curry, and their Khao soi soup since they are some of our favorites! Their meats are always tender and never dry (which is an issue for many other Thai places we’ve tried) and their food is flavorful without entirely relying on heat to carry the dish. Their space is warm and inviting, and cleanliness has always been great.
We ordered delivery on Saturday night & they were so accommodating and even though the driver got a little lost, we were so happy to be having dinner. The food is amazing and the staff is beyond helpful. Thank you Sala Thai Kitchen & Staff!!!
Ordered food for delivery it took a minute but so worth it like always so delicious and tasty.
You haven't ate here?
Yall better
This place is the best Thai restaurant in Salt Lake City. Real Thai restaurant.
I love the food.
Had the Thai egg roll and pork Pad see ew. The Pad see ew was delicious.
Customer service was the worst I’ve ever had! I was picking up a food to go and kindly asked to use the restroom and they didn’t let me use, owner is totally rude! I’ll never come back to this place!
Worst restaurant I’ve ever been! The attendant was really rude, and the food was the worst! Don’t waste your time and money!
Not a pretty place, but the food and service absolutely makes up for it.
Had drunken noodles and the crab fried rice. So good!!!!
I ordered the papaya salad, my mother had the beef salad then we had mango sticky rice for dessert. Both dishes were so balanced and flavorful. Absolutely nailed it. Friendly staff. Couldn’t stop moaning about how good everything was while eating it. Don’t look any further, you have found it.
The vegan mango salad was fire 🔥🔥
Thank you for this dinner. A very friendly staff and a great chef.
Buenísimo
One of my top places for Pad Thai around SLC!
We all ate a number of dishes from their menu.
Everything tastes great!
The service is wonderful too.
Food was ok. I did a take out for dinner recently.
We love this place! We’ve also brought different friend groups and every time it’s a hit. They have the best cream cheese wontons on the market. We also love their lychee ice tea, pad Thai, Tom yum, Kai sao. I love that they’re open later than the surrounding areas. 10/10 would recommend.
We had a great time eating here and my little daughter remembered this as the best food she had in an 8 day journey. We had some misgivings about the location, but the restaurant ended up being a very pleasant surprise and its interior was great and our misgivings missed the mark.We are vegetarians who have a soft spot for Thai food; Our family will rate it at the very highest of our preference spectrum. (Thank you for accommodating our dietary requirements !).
This place was absolutely amazing! They sat our party of 13 immediately and had our food out so fast that we thought it was just the appetizers! The food was the best Thai food I've had in Salt Lake. I got the Pineapple Curry and the Pad Thai and both were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to all Thai food lovers!
I highly recommend this thai restaurant! We came in with a LARGE group and they were so kind. The food came out quickly despite how many of us there were. And it was DELICIOUS! The customer service was great. They were so kind and accommodating.
Went here for a bachelorette party. They sat us immediately and our food was out so fast! The food tasted amazing and the portions were incredibly generous. Definitely will be coming back!
It was overall AMAZING!!! The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was wonderful! We had a very large group and they seated us almost immediately. 10/10 would recommend:)
Incredible food with amazing proportions for the price. Our large group was sat extremely fast and the food came out fast as well. The staff was so kind.
I got takeout and was very impressed with both the pad Thai and mango with sticky rice. The drunken noodle was good, but seemed to be missing something (I think I’ve had it other places with a bolder sauce). I’d definitely return to try more dishes (and get more mango with sticky rice)
The best Thai food ever😋 !
Do not go to this place. Not worth it. Literally half cup of chicken fried rice. 17$
Told everyone I know to stay away from this place.
Delicious with good portions. Did takeout, was ready on time.
Walked there from my hotel and was closed at 8pm on a Tuesday
First time here . The chicken green curry was much better than I expected. Look forward to trying more dishes here
The food here is delicious.
Oh my hell. SO good. I’ve eaten Khao Soi in northern Thailand (Chiang mai) and I’m not kidding when I say Sala Thai kitchen knows what they’re doing 🙌I cannot wait to order here again. I have a feeling I’m going to need to stop myself from ordering too often.
We came here for my birthday dinner, and it was delicious! We got many appetizers and entrées every single dish was excellent and could have been in a magazine. It looked so pretty. They treated us very well. Dishes came out quick and would definitely recommend to anyone that is wanting delicious thai food!!! Thank you for the special birthday treat and treatment!!!
The food was absolutely delicious, one of if not the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. I tried the drunken noodles and they did not disappoint. Everything was super fresh and very large portion sizes. Service was great. Would recommend!
Disappointing, especially considering the high rating score. The dinner we got was bizarre. My rice beef dish had a fishy odor and taste to it, indicating the meat had sat out somewhere too long. I've lived on worse, but I didn't have time to make a fuss about it, and I guarantee the staff would have been insulted. My companion's soup had overcooked wontons that fell apart upon picking up with chopsticks, yet the soup had undercooked cabbage. I don't understand how this is done in a professional kitchen. Her dish was basically impossible to eat without both a fork and spoon. How these people that made and served these dishes call themselves Thai I don't know, but maybe I should operate the kitchen. The waiter was nice though. I had to apologize to my date because she's out of town and has had some bad food experienced in SLC, especially being from a city that's much better at the restaurant experience. Oh, their menu seems excessively large, which of course increases the chances of neglect or abuse in dishes, which is what we witnessed.
I can say with certainty that this place has the best crab rangoons that I've ever had.
Prices are expensive. There were frozen vegetables consisting of peas, corn, green beans, broccoli, and carrots (all frozen) in my stir-fry mixed in with the fresh bok choy and bean sprouts, instead of baby corn, fresh carrots, snow peas, fresh broccoli, and fresh green beans, which made it taste bland. It tasted more like chuckwagon diner food instead of Thai stir-fry and it cost almost $15 plus tax. I prefer Thai Orchid in Murray, Thai Archer, Skewered Thai (both in SLC), and Aroy-D in Marriott-Slaterville much better.
I visited SLC 6 months ago and I still think about this place. That's how good it was.
The outside doesn't look impressive, but I promise you, dine in, and you'll have a delicious meal. Had the green curry, pad thai, fried rice, and a dish with lettuce wraps and they were all delicious.
Khao soi w tofu for me, pad thai w no meat for my mom, avocado spring rolls, coconut juice, jasmine tea. The spring rolls w chili oil and peanut sauce were perfectly fresh, which in my experience is not often the case elsewhere. My spice-averse mom had pad thai. I had khao soi (w perfectly fried tofu) which is new to me but now a favorite. Very nice staff. They give a shizzle here. I refrained from licking my bowl clean, but my mom took home everything else, including the orchid garnishes. Outstanding.
Great Thai food, reasonably priced, good service in a no thrills atmosphere. You can make a quick lunch out of it as well if you're pressed for time
I ordered the pumpkin curry with white rice man absolutely delicious and very hearty portions totally worth it
great service, great food
Honestly, one of the best, if not the best Thai restaurants we’ve ever eaten at! And that’s comparing to places like New York City, and San Francisco.
Very rude staff, I walked in with a hand full of cash wanting to get some food after a horrible massage from their neighbor's and instantly got yelled at. The door was wide open yet they told me they was closed while people were eating. Probably a gross, un sanitary restaurant anyways. ( My own personal experience, and my own feelings ) Who know's maybe they are good, just sharing my experience
Great spot for some authentic quality Thai food!
Excellent! Clean, good service and fantastic pumpkin curry!
We enjoy the food here, they are very nice too
Always very good and generally pretty quick. The Massaman in particular is especially good. The vegan mango salad was also very good.
PAD PA RAM with all fresh veggies was great! The chef is internationally traveled, was a Thai cooking instructor, and has her cookbooks for sale here. Gluten free GF foods also avaliable.
Huge helpings. Amazing and delicious. Nice atmosphere. A hidden gem in SLC
Authentic, tasty and freshly made Thai dishes. Please support small business.
Food was decent, but nothing amazing. The portions were small. There is absolutely nothing to justify paying these prices.
This is some of the best Thai food I’ve been able to find in the salt lake area. Their fried rice is the best I’ve ever had and for the price you get a lot of food.
SO GOOD! The lunch deal is super awesome. We loved our food. The Yellow and Red curry are the perfect amount of spice and the tempura is done very well!!! Definitely will be back
Definitely not open on Sundays
Great food and service.
Great food, downtown.
Awful food and awful service and way too pricey for a low quality food.
cool little restaurant with a calming atmosphere. the food is amazing, my partner and i had a few appetizers and main dishes. we had egg rolls, cheese wontons, and fried calamari for appetizers. i had the drunken noodles with chicken and he had crispy chicken pad thai. the presentation of the food is very nice, and it tastes even better.
Amazing restaurant!! They always have the smile and their food is AMAZING!! They also always make sure you get everything you need and sometimes more :) :) The vegetables soup is the most flavorful soup ever and the Thai beef jerky is it die for!! This is my new go-to for tasty and wonderful Thai food ♥️
Wonderful shop and wonderful owners. A little understaffed, but they can't really control that.
Nice setting and seating too.
Came here hungry after flying in for our 2nd weekend of volleyball and wow, absolutely awesome! Tum Yum. Fire. Crab cheese wontons. Hand made and…fire. RED CURRY!!! Definitely worth stopping if in the area.
