Classic American breakfasts & lunches by day & Thai entrees by night at this intimate teahouse.
This is a cute traditional looking place. The service was good. I ordered pad Thai and it was fine, it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. For me that pretty much sums up the food in general. It was good, but not my favorite Thai food around. Also, be careful ordering the curry because we ordered one off the menu that supposedly wasn’t spicy and ended up being a little too spicy for us.
Love this little hole in the wall place! Amazingly authentic. Perfectly spiced, great flavor, generous portions for a decent price. Everyone (6) of us ordered a different dish and no one was disappointed. The pad Thai was a solid choice.. No Ragrets. Will most definitely be back!
And the mango sticky rice was excellent too- didn’t last long enough to put down the spoon and take a pic.
Absolutely wonderful!!! I DO NOT like Thai food. Well, not what Utah has available. It always seems to taste like fish. Even if there isn't any fish in the meal. Not this place. I had the Sweet Thai Basil with chicken. Oh my God that was good. It was fast, delicious, and the waitress was amazing. I will MOST DEFINITELY come back. I'm excited!!
Their food is good! We had pad see-ew and tom yum soup and it was delicious. The pad see-ew tasted like pad Thai and you can choose spice level from 1-5. The place is old but the inside is bigger than it looks from the outside, and the servers were nice. The portions are good and we'll definitely come back to try other menus.
One of the best place to have thai food. Been there several times and food is consistent. For those who love spicy food ; spice level 5 on any stir fry is a must try.
Best experience dining out I've had all year!! The food was absolutely incredible. Every single thing we ordered was delicious and fresh. We spent well over 100$ and it was worth every penny. Lin was our server and she was so funny, sweet and attentive. 11/10 would recommend and will be coming back.
Their food was mediocre. Definitely not authentic Thai but good enough to hit the spot. Their noodle dishes were quite bland, the curry I got was a way smaller portion than expected. The tofu rolls were just ok too. The host was somewhat impatient but fine.

Great place recommended by a friend. Cozy atmosphere and great service.
The food is so good, and the staff are all so nice. Literally everything here is good but love the mango curry!!
This place is amazing. I had chicken fried rice and it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely be coming back to explore the menu. Highly recommend stopping by!
One of my favorite Thai food locations in Utah. It’s a bit of a drive, yet worth it every time.
I would highly recommend giving it a try!
Quick service and awesome food!
Too bad they close early for I’m dine-in. Bad service!
I am always reluctant to try new places and be disappointed, usually I stick to what I know and sadly my fave Thai restaurant closed permanently. Reluctantly, I try Tea Rose for the first time yesterday as it was nearby where i live. Before entering I am captivated by the smell of the food, upon entering I see a cosy space with optimal lighting and the warmth of eating in a home after a long cold day. I tell the women who rang up my order this is my first try at their pad thai and mango sticky rice (i know i'm basic, but again i love what i love, also if you can't get this one right then it is not the place for thai) She tells me it's the best in the county or region. I nod and still reluctant but more convinced after stepping into the restaurant. I take my take out order home and open to see the most juicy, aromatic, beautifully crafted pad THAI.
Begin to eat my first bite, and just felt the delicious noodles with such warmth and delight, it is indescribable how delicious these juicy, pepper and nutty blended noodles were. Perfect level of spice for me! I prefer spicy foods. I never felt such happiness, pleasure and warmth eating Thai food ever. Safe to say, that women was not lying and I am only sad to not have discovered this gem of place sooner and surprised in Utah of all places. Truly exquisite food, I will be going here forever to try the rest of their menu. Please do yourself a favor and try this place!

I’m a delivery driver, and The lady who was calling the orders left me hanging for over an hour, then tried to blame me for not listening when she never called the name (she never did). Gaslighted me and Had a horrendous attitude towards me and I’ll be sure to recommend my friends to NEVER come here. Awful woman
Came here anticipating good food and service. Service was terrible and restaurant did not have good sanitary conditions.
Love this place
I’ve had a bit of disappointment in the restaurant/food scene in Salt Lake, but this place had excellent Thai food. Well prepared, hot from the kitchen, delicious.
Favorite Thai in SLC by a long shot! We love tea rose!
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had, including Utah and Oregon. The flavors are so good that my friends/family and I will go silent when we are eating because we are just too busy enjoying the food. Love the vegetarian option (tofu). And don’t get me started on the spice 😍 , I adore how hot they make it and it makes me happy to have found a place that can make me cry at just a level 3 or 4. Trust me though, ask to sample the spice first. They don’t mess around and if the hottest you normally go is dumping sriracha on everything you might be okay with a level 1. They do have non-spicy options so don’t let that scare you! Try their food! It’s worth it.

A little hole in the wall diner with fantastic food.
This place is amazing, friendly staff and great food.
Great customer experience
I’ve loved this place for years. The last few times I’ve gone the service has been pretty bad and the food has been very salty. Not even palatable. My meal was $22 and I ended up throwing it out 3 times now.
Beware when ordering online. Their website is not connected to a major online ordering service and there is no support for issues from the restaurant. I tried to place an order around 3 pm without realizing they were closed until 5 and when I called at 5 my order was already made. I’d called 3 or 4 times to cancel and there was no cancellation option in my email receipt. Since the food had been prepped they didn’t offer a refund or anything. On top of that the website is connected to multiple locations with similar names, bad planning. Subsequently attempted to order from a restaurant nearby with a similar name that was open and whose menu was also visible on the website. Even though they were part of the same restaurant group the other chain offered no help either with the order nor was their website working. Unhappy customer who didn’t live in the area and didn’t get refunded. Order cancellations need to be more visible.
What they lack in subway tile or whatever cool stuff people like these days they make up for in simply AMAZING food and quick service. Had the larb with fried tofu and buddy had the pad Thai, saying, “it is the best I’ve ever had.”
Another great Thai restaurant in SLC!
I ordered chicken khao soi (spice level 1) the first time I came here, and it was fantastic! The noodles and vegetables were perfectly cooked, and the broth was thick enough to stick to the noodles as I slowly, but surely cleaned my bowl. The broth was also rich in flavor and a delight with every bite.
I have also tried the pad see ew, which was also quite flavorful, and balanced in its sweetness and savoriness.
This place also does spice levels correctly. A medium level of spice (level 1) is just hot enough where you can feel it, but it isn't painful. A level 2 is just enough to feel like a flame is sparking in your mouth. I can only imagine what a level 5 is like! BUYER BEWARE! Spice levels 2 and up come with a surcharge, and there are no refunds, or remakes! If you think even a level 2 might be too hot, get level 1.
If you live or visit this area frequently, then Tea Rose is a great spot to have some Thai food!
I love Tea Rose. It is in my regular rotation of eateries. Most everything can be made vegan and it is always good. My only gripe with it is that they charge extra for making it spicy above a 2.5. Chili peppers are ridiculously cheap so it is a big gouge imo. You can get a side of chili peppers for free, but if you get it added to make it spicy they charge extra.
Absolutely phenomenal Thai food! The spring rolls, Thai sweet Basil, and yellow curry and mango sticky rice were all so amazing. We loved everything we tried. I will definitely be coming back here regularly. I prefer no spice level and my husband likes spicy and they accommodate us both.
My girlfriend and I decided to go here for our anniversary since we just moved to the area. The wontons came out cold on the inside. Our waitress was also fairly cold. I got the pad Thai which was drenched in sauce (I did not finish my meal) and my girlfriend got the coconut soup which was extremely sweet (she did not finish). I believe the soup was an attempt at Tom ka but came with cabbage and other random veggies. Our table was dirty and the windowsill next to us looked like it hadn’t been wiped in months. Also I feel like I should mention the swarm of fruit flies we were swatting away from our faces while eating. Needless to say, we will not be returning. The price, the environment and the service were all good reasons to stay away.
By far, THE best Thai I have ate.
Loved the Massaman Curry. The flavor and consistency of the curry was spot on! Perfectly savory and creamy enough to stick to the rice so every bite was flavorful. Definitely coming back!!
I used to come here pretty regularly but It's been a couple of years. I wasn't surprised to enjoy the same delicious food I always did before.
Oh my greatness of food! My new favorite spot close to home.
Best Thai in Utah. Be careful with the spice level if you're not a chili head. If you are a chili head, delicious food with real heat awaits. Best kow soi I've ever had.
Go here for the food. AMAZING Thai food . So so good . We got the pineapple curry with chicken and fish curry . Both were excellent and also we got a side of shrimp n rice for my 3 year old n they got a couple sauces with that . Overall very yum
The place was very cute and charming, a welcoming atmosphere! I had no idea what I wanted to eat, so I asked the lovely lady working the cash register to make me whatever she would like off of the menu. I have no idea what she made for me, but it was truly incredible! So so so delicious and a great experience overall!
This is one of the best Thai places I have ever eaten. They are so close to making perfect food. It was slightly too sweet. If the sweetness level was toned down just a little bit the flavor profile of these dishes would have been phenomenal.
I love this place. I have gluten and dairy allergies and most of the food in the menu can be made to accommodate this. And to top it off, it's delicious.
I feel as though I have ascended to god hood when I ate their pad thai 11/10 amazing food
Some of the best and most authentic Thai food I’ve ever had!! And so low-priced. Such a great deal. The pad see ew was amazing.
Best thai food in utah mark my words
It was really loud for me. Was looking for quieter.
My husband took me here for the first time, and it was absolutely amazing food, and the staff was great as well. We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this place
Too sweet, too oily, mushy over cooked noodles. Yuck
Always good
Wonderful little restaurant
Good Thai food, July 2012
I have visited tea rose diner many times and every time their food is great. I always try to order new dish and they havent let me down.
Best Thai restaurant family in Utah. Highly recommend the Mango curry!
Came here for the first time on a late morning on a Friday. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall type of joint which just solidified that this place would be fantastic. Met with a friend and we ordered their fresh spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, jungle curry and pad see ew. Everything was good. I know the owners of this restaurant have multiple sister restaurants. Chabaar is one of them and the one I usually frequent, but due to them being temporarily closed, I am happy I had the Tea Rose Diner close by to get the same tasting and same quality food. Parking can be found across the street where the dance studio is, the parking lot by the Murray City Hall, or along the street.
My new favorite restaurant! My recommendation are Massaman Curry, coconut soup, to spicy level of .5 or 1.
As a southeast Asian person who loves spicy food and can handle extreme heat, I was very disgusted and incredibly angered/annoyed when the white server thought it was within her right do deny the level 5 spice for my papaya salad, claiming that she " cannot serve it, unless you have eaten our level 3
and 4" and even going as far as saying that it was their store policy not to serve customers level 5. She then proceeded to give me attitude as she served the salad which was not spicy at all, and had the nerve to charge an extra $2 for one pinch of chili powder which barely enhanced the dish for me.
Besides that, the restaurant was quite decent and the dishes were of good quality and proportion. Love supporting local Asian businesses and I hope that they can find better wait staff who are less obnoxious colonizers. (overheard it was her last day so good riddance!)
This was our first time eating Thai food, and this place was recommended by a friend, and it was absolutely delicious! The waiter was very helpful with suggestions since we had no clue what we were ordering! If I could give them more stars I would! Definitely recommend and will be back!!!
Love the food and the service
We used to eat here almost weekly. The foodisstill as amazing as ever, but all our favorite faces are gone, the menu has some changes, it is just not quite the same.
But we will be back... gotta give the new folks a chance.
Best Thai food in Utah.
Great food and friendly staff.
Best Thai food with amazing flavor and cozy atmosphere
My new favorite Thai food, the food is amazing! I would give the Beef Pad Thai a try as it’s simply life changing levels of delicious.
Great service, fantastic food, authentic flavor.
Definitely a Thai-lovers cozy spot in Murray. And they do a great job at takeout orders for our office.
Best Thai restaurant in Salt Lake City
This place used to be good. I went here for lunch the other day, and it was terrible. The tofu in my dish seemed like it was leftover from the day before. And now I have been sick for two days. (On the toilet). Be careful eating here.
Fresh, perfect, delicious!
I love the food at this place. It's a smaller restaurant, so it's cozy and never too loud. The staff is excellent and makes sure you are well taken care of.
This might be the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. Everything here is amazing. +1 for being a hole-in-the-wall. Slow down when you're close...you might miss it!
Holy smokes. This place was incredible!! Ate the coconut soup and it was so flavorful and mouth wateringly delicious!! My pad kee mao was equally delicious!!!!
Great food first time had Yellow curry, sweet pork and Pad Thai. The curry has a little heat at zero not to much a 1 jumps it up little I liked the zero because I can’t handle to much heat.
Food is great here, their spice level skews higher than most places, a 2 of 5 might be too hot for most people. It seems like they only have one waiter, so you may not see them much throughout your meal, but the food is so good you end up joking about it instead of complaining.
Good food, but spicier than normal.
Hidden gem in Murray!
Always delicious 😋
Our server (I wish I had grabbed her name) was absolutely fabulous. Food was incredible.
The staff was kind and explained everything well and the food was amazing! Will definitely go again!
Pad Kee Mao is good!
Excellent food! The Noodle Curry was the best curry I’ve eaten. Highly recommend!
The restaurant looks a little run down but I promise, the food and service is worth it. My wife is Thai and can attest to it being authentic tasting. I recommend the pineapple fried rice.
Delicious meal and lovely staff. Made for a great afternoon with family.
Kinda a strange atmosphere. Feels very hole in the wall, but the food is incredible (and spicy!) Be careful ordering anything above a 1. Loved the depth of flavor in every curry that I tasted (red, green, and massaman). Will definitely be coming back for date night!!!
Great little place with excellent food. You will not be disappointed if you eat here.
Fantastic thai, felt like being in Thailand. We had the fresh spring rolls with prawns, papaya salad , panang curry and pad thai all medium spice and excellent! Will be our regular.
10/10 on the pork, there are levels of spice as well but you can choose
Their yellow curry is amazing every time!
Just way understaffed. Told me 30 minutes on a takeout order, took almost an hour. They forgot something and no one checked with the kitchen to see if they were making it til after I paid… They don’t have a food warmer so the food just kinda sits on a cold table until they bring it to you. No utensils for to-go orders. I’ll pass on this one next time.
Good is hands down the best Thai in the valley. Delicious and prompt service.
Best Thai curry in SCL, and the only one makes it hot enough (on request) for serious chiliheads.
My favorite Thai place!
This is by far the best Thai food in town! You can’t go wrong on any dish.
Amazing! Love this spot
Great food. Sometimes I think they don't answer the phone when they're busy. Sometimes impolite on the phone. But the food is delicious and if you like heat it's the hottest food in town if you ask for spicy🔥. Many kinds of curries, great Tom ka,good pad Thai, veggie stir fry is great. Spring rolls are great too.
Highly recommended!
Pad Thai was fantastic.
The best Thai food I've eaten in Utah. The Massaman and Panang curries are my personal favorites.
Came in on a Friday evening and was seated quickly. Ordered the massaman curry with the level 3 spice and the spiciness did not disappoint! Even though it was pretty spicy, the curry was still rich and flavorful.
They have a pretty big menu consisting of noodles, curries, stir fry, soup, and rice dishes, so there’s something for everyone if you’re in the mood for Thai food. Would definitely recommend this place
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful, but also gave us the right amount of space. This is quite possibly my new favorite Thai restaurant! If you live in Salt Lake County, this is somewhere you NEED to eat.
I am an avid Thai food eater. I was raised on Thai seeing that my grandfather is from Indonesia and Thai has a similar style of cooking for my family to enjoy living in Utah. This place is one of the best restaurants in terms of complex flavors and authentic dishes. It looks like a hole in the wall, but it packs a big punch! I absolutely recommend this spot. I ordered medium in heat and that was perfect, and I really enjoy spice. You must try their Pang Nang Curry 🍛- I truly enjoyed their flavor development in this dish! Really nice and attentive family that runs the spot. I will be back many times.
Just visiting the area for a few weeks and came across this gem. I'm a bit of a food snob when it comes to food, especially Pan-Asian cuisine. One bite of the coconut curry, and the dust washed off my soul!
Absolutely delightful flavors, consistency, and delicacy of coconut infusion.
It was phenomenal, rich, and just enough for 2 meals.
It’s my favorite place to eat!!!
The food smelled so yummy I forgot to take a picture before I dug in and ate it all. Definitely will be back for more Masaman Curry & Spring rolls (& amazing peanut sauce). Staff was great to answer my questions and give recommendations.
Not the cleanest and pretty dark. That is my biggest complaint. Other than that, the food was great and I’d go back again.
Excellent food. Spice levels are hot without sacrificing flavor. I'll definitely return.
Unbelievable chicken pad Thai and 2.0 is plenty of spice. Really tasty. The food here is made with love and it shows.
First time here and the food is really good
One of the only places in SLC that actually has spicy food. Their curries are amazing, very flavorful and can be made very spicy. One of the best restaurants in SLC.
This place is one of the gems in old Town Murray.
Really good!
Great place, great food, great people.
Amazing Thai food! I've been going here for years, and I always enjoy the curries.
We had a large party and the service was amazing. People added items while she was serving, she did not miss a thing. The food was delicious! We tried a wide variety of their appetizers and dishes. All were amazing.
I love Tea Rose Diner. The food has been fantastic each time I've gone. The restaurant is small, but hasn't ever felt too loud. They're consistent with order time too, even for take out. My kids especially love the Pad See-Ew, Mango Curry, and the Coconut Chicken Soup.
Amazing food if you like Thai food. So fabulous!
Some of the best Thai food in the valley for sure!
Some of the best Thai food in Utah. I've had a little of everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed.
Be careful when ordering spice levels. Noodle dishes can be much spicier than curries!
Very light and easy to eat food
Location is very small and no-frills, with an equally small parking lot across the street. My pad thai was very enjoyable and I was really happy that all of the noodles remained intact. I thought it was presented very nicely with all of the toppings displayed around it.
The food portions were large. If you aren't really hungry expect to take home leftovers.
This was the best thai food we have tried in Utah. Ordered pad kee mao, thai fried rice for lunch and both were delicious. Chicken in the fried rice was a little overdone but not bad. If you can't tolerate spicy food don't go above 1.5.
All around amazing experience. A little diner in the corner of nowhere, and somehow I wanted to try it. The food was REALLY good. The waitress was super nice and checked up every so often. It started getting a little busy, and there was only one waitress, but the entire visit was for sure worth it. Plan on about $15-$20+ per person.
One of my favorite Thai places in SLC! Order a spice level down from what you think you want, and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
No cap. Straight fire. My favorite Thai place anywhere.
Fabulous Thai food.
Accommodated all dietary restrictions. Everything made fresh to order. Nothing from pre-made stuff.
Gem of a place.
When they warn about spice level, believe them. But the food is great
Best Thai food I've ever had.
One of the best Thai places I've been to. The mango Curry is so good
The yellow curry here is our favorite. The pad thai is also very good. They aren’t playing around with the spices. Start low. If a level one or two doesn’t burn your face off you might consider working up to a three. This is really the only place we go for Thai in the Salt Lake area anymore.
Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent!!
Great food, great service, and spicy if you want it.
Great Thai place.
It was my first visit. The Massaman Curry was so good it nearly sent me to a different dimension. I will be back!
We loved the food here, it is a little hole in the wall that a friend recommended. It is currently my favorite Thai place since Thai Basil went out of business. We are still looking though as I would like a place that has a more comfortable atmosphere.
We love Tea Rose Diner. We go often and it never disappoints. My only “issue” is the heat levels; sometimes you order a 3 and it’s great and other times it’s very spicy! They aren’t kidding when they say it’s hot, spice lovers like myself rejoice when we find real heat like this! The location is a bit odd to get to and the dining room is small yet cozy, but all that aside the food is consistently delicious and always hot. We’re big fans of the fried tofu and Pad Kee Mao. Plan to keep coming as long as they keep up the good work!
If you’re looking for authentic Tam Mak Hoong (laos style papaya salad), this is the place to get it! My wife and I came here for the first time this past weekend and we are for sure coming back. They make it properly spicy. The only con (and it’s definitely not a big one) I’d say is, I wish it came with more sticky rice. We just ended up making some at home, so no big deal.
Definitely coming back to try other dishes.
I've had better Thai food in smaller towns than this place in Salt Lake CITY. Usually Thai food is a safe bet and has good vegetation options. The food we had here made me lose my appetite for the wrong reasons.
Spice was great!
Such a cozy little place hid away from the main road. Food was great and came out so fast. Servers were very prompt. Prices are very reasonable.
