Laid-back chain serving familiar Thai dishes from mild to spicy, with gluten-free & vegan options.
Jennifer was our server and could not have been better. An absolute pro.
The food is good. It’s more of an American sort of Thai. I requested the absolute spiciest beef salad they could make and it was pretty medium to mild.
But the flavor was good. The decor was great…
And the server and manager were outstanding.
It’s worth a visit especially if you like a western flair to Thai food.
I recently had dinner at Thai Cottage in Sugar Land, and it was an enjoyable dining experience from start to finish.
Chicken Rolls:
The chicken rolls were light and crispy, with a savory filling that paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. It was a great appetizer to start the meal.
Fried Rice:
The fried rice was tasty and cooked just right. The seasoning was spot on, and the portions were generous. I appreciated that it wasn’t overly greasy, making it a hearty and flavorful dish without being too heavy.
Pad Kee Mao:
The Pad Kee Mao, also known as Drunken Noodles, was the standout dish of the night. The noodles were soft and chewy, soaking up the rich sauce. The dish had a pleasant spiciness that lingered just enough to keep things interesting without overwhelming the palate.
Yellow Curry with Shrimp:
The yellow curry was a comforting and creamy dish with tender shrimp swimming in a mildly spiced coconut curry sauce. The shrimp were fresh, and the curry itself was rich and satisfying, with flavors that balanced well together.
The service was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you’re in the Sugar Land area and craving some solid Thai food, Thai Cottage is definitely worth a visit!
As a vegetarian and Thai food lover it has always been a challenge to find a right place that serves a good vegetarian Thai food. My quest has ended here in Thai cottage at sugar land that serves delicious Thai food and have many vegetarian options and are also willing to customize non veg items on menu by eliminating non veg sauce or substituting with veg options. I loved how they took care of that.
Their refreshment drinks as well as alcoholic drinks - Mule in particular is a must try.
They get the spice level just right as per our requirement.
Undoubtedly, the best Thai food in the town! I strongly recommend it to vegetarians who love Thai food. This will be my go to Thai place going forward.
I’ve been coming here for the past 14 years. I’ve had lunch, take out and delivery. Brunch, lunch dinner always fresh. The food is always delicious, alcohol drinks 🍹 are flavorful and smooth. The staff is always courteous and attentive.
My favorite is PRINCESS OF SIAM and VEGETABLE CRISPY ROLLS
Always clean and welcoming environment.
The restaurant is nice and cozy. Can get very packed on the weekend so come early to avoid the line. The service was kind of slow when we dined in for Saturday dinner. It took us several attempts to grab someone attention every time we would like to order more or to get a refill.
- Crab Fried Rice ($22) was generous in portion with crab lumps.
- Pad See Ew ($16) was a little smaller but well flavored.
I personally found the appetizers more on the pricey side for their portions.
- Tomkha Soup ($8) came in a small bowl (individual size).
- Chicken wings ($9.5) came in 5pcs and were good! Crunchy covered in a sweet tangy sauce.
- Chicken Satay ($9.5) came in 3pcs, pretty standard in quality and flavoring.
- We also ordered Mango Sticky Rice ($9) — not recommended. The sticky rice was soft and moist, which was good but very little the coconut milk making most part of the rice kinda bland. The mango wasn’t sweet either.
We will still come back for their Crab Fried Rice & Beef See Ew.
I really wanted to like this place but I think ultimately I ended up disappointed. First of all, they’ve remodeled recently so the interior of the restaurant is definitely beautiful and has a more modern/elegant look. Unfortunately, I think the food is overpriced and not super flavorful, you can definitely get better Thai food for cheaper at other places in Sugar Land area. I got the red curry which was decently spicy, but it was difficult to enjoy because the rice portion they gave me with it was very small. The flat noodles were also just OK, with the portion for those being small as well.
Mostly giving 3 stars because I really liked their Thai Tea, and it came in a cute bottle! Definitely the redeeming part of the meal for me.
Great spot for dinner with the family, business partners, date night, or treat yourself day! Full bar, fresh ingredients, unique menu items - you get it all right here. We had a great dinner for 3 people, including appetizers and drinks - less than $100! Winner winner curry dinner! The Fish 3 ways is addictive .. Im door dashing another order to my home right now!
Great atmosphere and food
Good food. Spice level is too high. I ordered medium spicy. Don’t know whether they gave me medium or spicy. I spent too much time drinking water to cool me down … haha
Great place to go for tasty Thai. I have not had one dish that I did not like. We have 3 orders of the dumplings. Service is great. Food is not overly pricy. Just right.
Average Thai restaurant.
I will definitely be coming back. I loved the homey and welcoming atmosphere. The waiter helped me choose my entree as-well the pad woon sen. It was amazing. I added shrimp.

Food seemed not cooked well enough
They have the best fried rice!
We believe this is the best Thai food in town. The best part is having lunch menu on Saturday. We love their food and they have option to make a dish vegetarian
My daughter and I love this place. The food is exceptional and service excellent.
Wonderful, fresh food and such a beautifully decorated restaurant
Delicious food, I like the pad kee mao, the chicken dumplings, and chive pancakes. Would recommend.
Quick service, shareable portions. Vegetarian options available.
It angers me that Thai restaurants charge so much for their food but don't fill up the containers for takeout orders. $18 for a dish of vegetables and fried tofu and the container is 80% full. This rarely happens at Chinese restaurants. Either add more food or get smaller containers. Arrggg
The fried rice is kind of oily and the rice is just okay.
My previous review was very good for this restaurant. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but I won't be returning anytime soon.
Other than my brown rice being cold the food was delicious. It's a very popular Thai restaurant in probably some of the best Thai food in the Sugar Land area
This place is a hidden gem! Food, service and environment was tranquil! I will be back soon!
Great food,
good & fast service…mostly we do takeout
I'm not familiar with Thai food, but it was good
We enjoyed it.

Been coming here for 15 years, the quality is always there and meals and drinks never disappoint! The lunch special is my favorite!
Hello for the amount you charge and the small portion sizes! Shame on yall.

Always great service and great food. The spicy wings of paradise are a hidden gem. This is the best Thai cottage location in Houston. They are a well run machine.
Love it!!
Have been coming to this location for years and quality has not changed. Everything we have tried has been great. Our go-tos are the chicken fried rice, pad see ew, and the roasted duck curry. The roasted duck curry is literally amazing. Curry flavor isn't overbearing with some sweetness and spice. Today we tried the curry puffs with cucumber sauce and we're not disappointed. Some of the staff have also worked there for as long as I've been eating here. 10/10 recommend.
We stopped in for some delicious curry. Their's really very good. I tried the green curry with pork as a change of pace, but I'll return to my favorite chicken version.
.
We also had the chicken skewers appetizer. I found the chicken a little tough and dry, but the sauces were terrific.
We been coming here for years. Nice staff quick service.
Love Thai cottage! They tend to keep the flavors consistent. Wished there was one in Houston.
El servicio es muy bueno, las porciones aunque son pequeñas es suficiente el lugar esta muy grande y limpio, lo que no me gustó es que la carne de puerco y el pollo estaban duros

Excellent food and beautiful restaurant. Their red chicken curry is very tasty as well as the beef with peanut sauce and chicken sa-té.
Our go-to location for terrific Thailand cuisine. The staff, management and chefs are truly exceptional. We love eating here!
Before the remodel this restaurant use to be one of the best Thai places.
Got take out one day; guy in front of me was complaining that he's been waiting a long time and that the staff told him his order would be ready 10 minutes ago. The take out order staff tells him, "Then cancel your order." ....
That's the quality of food now. The dishes are overly watery and sweet and food pieces are HUGE. THEY DON'T CARE ANYMORE IF YOU EAT FROM HERE. They're riding on past reviews. They got enough customers from past performance to loose a few here, loose a few there and they just do not care.
2 years later. Still tasteless garbage at higher prices.
Got take out. Tasty food. Good fast service.
I love it! Sticky rice and mango.
Yellow curry is pretty bland, not gonna lie.
Very nice atmosphere and quality food. Had a wonderful lunch.
Been eating here since they opened 20 years ago. Can’t remember a time I didn’t enjoy the food. Red curry chicken and Garlic fish are my go to’s.
While the environment & service is nice, the food is disappointing. My wife ordered Pineapple Curry & none of the veggies like carrots or bamboo shoots can be found in her curry. I ordered a beef Pad Thai & I ended up getting pork. While we appreciate the service, we won't cover back here.
Fantastic lunch spot! Highly recommend!

My fave dish is the red curry, and I got the seafood in it this time. The seafood was very hard and rubbery, I could not chew through it! The broth was delicious though, so i ate it with my rice. The Thai tea was so yummy!
Always gone there for thai food for years
This is the only Thai food restaurant I go on a regular basis. Had been going to this location for years even before the remolding. Service is very quick and always seems busy for dine in and to go orders. Shared shopping center with Kroger and there are plenty of space for parking.
We were there about 5pm and the place was empty. Took a bit to get someone to come to our table but the staff is always nice and helpful. We had the red and yellow curry. The lunch combos are better just because you can get a salad and a spring roll but dinner was still tasty. Was disappointed they didn't have mango sticky rice but it's not the right season. It's good there so try it when they have it!
It’s a really good Thai restaurant and the sizzling beef is probably my favorite. I recommend it every time I get a chance.
What happened to my beloved Thai Cottage?! We just moved back to Sugar Land from Pearland. The Thai Cottage in Pearland is consistently delicious, and I felt so happy to have one close by since this one was a favorite for so long. I’m out running errands and chose to stop in for lunch. The remodel is gorgeous! Once I stepped inside, though, everything took a turn. First, the smell. The stench of what was either rotten meat or raw sewage was overpowering. It made me sick to my stomach. I stayed, though, thinking, “hey, I caught them at open, maybe they just threw something out.” I decide to stick it out and order. Y’all. I tasted nothing but salt in my once favorite chicken fried rice. Huge chunks of finishing salt were used and crunched between my teeth. There was none of that signature spice to be found, despite me ordering at a level 3. I had to add chili sauce, but that only made it more salty. I couldn’t finish it. I paid and left so disappointed. I guess the love affair ends here.
Great Thai food, loved every bit
We love the food so much that we order take out from here often! They never disappoint! We’ve been eating here for years and highly recommend it!
Food and service is always good.
Delicious Thai food and excellent service,
Service was great! From the moment we walked in to being seated. I came here for my birthday dinner with family and we all loved the food. I usually take pictures, but I was very hungry so got right into eating!
The inside is clean and I like the decor. I remember coming here for lunch and they had booths. So they definitely did a whole new look which is beautiful! I did not expect the inside to look like this. Our server was helpful and attentive even with us being a large group.
The Thai tea was delicious! I don’t like too sweet drinks. So this was good for me.
Appetizers I recommend the wings of paradise, and vegetable crispy rolls.
For the entrees I enjoyed the fish. My dad and brothers really liked it! The red curry and Panang curry were delicious!
Came at 1:40 and was turned away with attitude. Closing at 2 is curious enough but the attitude was unappreciated.
One of our favorite Thai places. Wide variety. Good quality. Go early to get a table.
4/29/23 - Like so many places, the quality had to be cut to make it through this economy. Very disappointed, but is it their fault?
I usually eat at the location near Galleria Mall. This one is close from home. Tried for the first time. I'm very disappointed. Too much MSG. Had pad thai, chicken sate n tom yum soup. So plain and no flavor.
Would love your go to dish here. Tried it twice and both were just okay. Thai Siam is so my favorite.
The quality of the food definitely has gone down lately. Yellow curry didn't have any flavor and was way too spicy for medium. The fried rice was bland.
Update: returned here a few times post review. The food I ordered this time around was better. I would stick with the staples such as Pad Thai, Basil stir fry etc.
Never order the 3 flavor fish and sizzling beef. The sauce on the fish is so sweet and the fish was like eating tofu..all mushy, it did not taste like fish. Sizzling beef came out on the iron skillet but not even sizzling. They use thin slices of beef that were dry & chewy served over some greens and a overly sweet peanut sauce. I don’t know what they’re serving but that is not any Thai food I’ve EVER tasted. I get this place isn’t authentic Thai but it was plain nasty. Maybe they spent too much on the new decor and forgot about the quality of the food.
Good food, good ambiance, good service. Great place for a lunch date! Highly recommended.
My fav Thai food. So delicious, everything on the menu. Red curry. Slaps. Pad Thai. Slaps. Wings of paradise. Killer. Peanut Rama?!? Goated
I love this place! The food is delightful, service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is quite enjoyable with large windows all around to enjoy the beautiful day from the comfort of being indoors.
Had a great dinner here. The food was very good and the atmosphere was interesting and nice. I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back again. Great place to eat.
Excellent food and service we always enjoy!!!!!
I hope that the deductions for the food inspection score of 82 (2/1/2023) aren't for the yum nueh. I lived a goodly amount of time in Bangkok and people can be pretty careless about how far cleanly they separate the raw beef away from raw veggies when it comes to hygiene practices.
That being said, Thai Cottage II seems to be getting less and less authentically Thai with subtle menu changes as the years wear on. Well, it isn't as if Sugar Land houses a large population of Thai expats. I surely wish that "Thai Style Fast Food" were a little closer, and it's a real shame that "Bangkok Street Food" closed years ago, because those are truly the tastes of central Thailand.
We love this place. The staff very helpful, the food very good, the place got just a makeover so it looks very nice, I just have one complaint: they don’t have anything to change diapers and as a mom of two under two (toddler and baby) is outrageous. I needed to take both of my kids outside to the parking lot to change them on the trunk of our SUV. Specially if on their description says Family friendly and in the amenities says: good for kids and restrooms…
Such a beautiful restaurant with great ambience, delicious food and amazing caring staff. Very good food with vegetarian options. They customized our food according to our dietary restrictions. We went there with a friend and ordered mini items. The portion size is huge and you will take the rest to go. We will definitely return to this restaurant anytime we are in Sugarland one of the best and authentic Thai food I’ve ever had.
We eat here often. Best Thai food in Texas!
Very Good!
Delicious food served fast. Highly recommend!
They have great food, service and atmosphere. It's a win win all around.
Best Thai in the area.
Food was ok.. their Thai tea was good
Always love their pad thai and chicken wings! I highly recommend it!
Delicious food with great customer service. They also have lunch specials which I love. The food is fresh and wait time is not too long every time I have been here. The pad Thai and basil wings are our family favorite but there are so many options for different types of cravings.
Love the Thai food here...curries are just great
We have been going to this place for last 16 years. It used to be great with friendly service, smiling host, great food.
All of this has changed in last 2 years
Especially this year there is a new hostess, she has a nasty attitude with a smile she will ask you to wait.
We were there two Friday’s ago we did not feel welcome, we were forced to leave the place by her.
Last week we had gone on. Friday night
She wanted us to leave, I asked her do you want us to leave she said yes.
Although there were other ppl sitting in back.
Manager of this place should take notice and remove her from hostess position
We want a nice place to thrive and we want to go there but we wanted to be treated properly and not feel like we are welcome there. In a customer service hospitality business there is no room for rudeness.
I hope the manager would read this review and respond back.
I am a small business owner in service industry and ai make sure every customer is treated like they are very important to us.
If this person does not want to smile and be courteous then should stay inside kitchen and cook food or do something else.
The sever, she was so rude.. she angrily put my water on the table and did not come back to take my order. This is the second time she did that to me.I had to get up to ask the manger if someone could take my order. Just TERRIBLE SERVICE
Long wait to be seated. Food was good though.
Great Thai food!
The food here is amazing
Thai cottage’s food is good and when I say good I mean GOOD my daughter ordered a shrimp soft roll and it was delicious I love the style of this restaurant l really recommend going here😋🥰.
beautiful decor and the food was good! a little pricey but it is worth it if it’s a special day :)
BEST restaurant ever
Great location, quick service, decent Thai food options
I went for the first time and ordered the basil pork. I expected similar pad kra pao because it was a Thai restaurant.
They used pork strips instead of ground pork. There were no fried eggs or long beans. The pork lacked the crispiness that basil pork is known for. It was simply like a stirred pork in Chinese soy sauce.
I was disappointed by what I expected from a Thai restaurant.
Anyway, the service was undeniably excellent.
Food is absolutely delicious! Waitress rushed us a little and brought the ticket out before asking if we wanted anything else which was rude. She also did not pick up our dirty plates as she laid the check down. First time this ever happened to me here though. We'll be back though for sure! If it happens again, I'm out for good.
You can’t go wrong with Thai Cottage - Sugarland’s favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant since they first opened decades ago! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the food delivers with authentic, freshly made Thai classics alongside their own house specialties. Ask about happy hour deals and enjoy the new decor in this updated location! Portions are very generous! The lights could use a dimmer :)
Everything was great!!
Always get a goid meal here. Highly recommended
Greatest crab fried rice I’ve had. New decor is bright and spacious! Great service.
Food quality is average… but they all are demanding tips like horrible… thye getting mad if we don’t give Tips as per their expectations…
My husband took me there for a surprise date And it was just perfect. Beautiful and Cozy. Service was quick and always with a smile . Food was delicious and drink spot on . Our new favorite spot.
The Chili Basil Beef and Paradise wings are amazing!
Thai Iced Tea is the bomb. The dish I ordered was delicious. Staff could have been a tad more attentive. If back in the area, I would definitely go back for lunch.
I paid $110 for 5 people and we didn’t drink anything beside water. At around 8:30pm, they charged me for the tip in advance, but the service and food were horrible. The place is not what it used to be! Don’t waste your time and money, there are way better options. :(
Good, fresh, spicy
One of the best Thai spots in Sugar Land!
Great affordable lunch special with good food quality and quantity!
I don't eat here as much since the remodel. The food is not as good as it used to be.
Good experience.
Clean establishment, friendly wait-staff, and good food.
Will be coming back.
-1 star for toned down spices. Even cranked all the way up it barely phased me
Awesome and fresh
the food is always delicious. I usually get the green curry with chicken. the staff is always friendly and so attentive.
Delicious Thai food. Fresh and fast!
Love the ambiance. The wings of paradise is a must
I've been coming to Thai Cottage for lunch or dinner since I was a teenager. It's one of my mother's favorite restaurants and they've been remarkably consistent since I could remember. I'm pretty boring with my orders - basically just yellow curry or pad thai with chicken and a 2-3 spice level depending on how I feel that day. It's basically great every time. The Thai Tea is really, REALLY sweet so just be mindful of that if you decide to order it.
⁰portions are smaller and quality of food was not worth the high price.
Dine-in there a few years ago, good taste. However, did take out recently with the ginger beef + teriyaki Chicken + Pad Tai; not much flavor. disappointing.
Always a delight! Really like their red curry, yellow curry, and the pad Kee mao.
Best Thaifood in Sugarland
Good food!!! Ordered Tiger Thai and Roasted duck curry! Will be back.
Tried the fish filet, crabmeat rice and Thai Siam. Really good!!!
Delicious thai food!! I always get the yellow chicken curry and the pork fried rice. I’m a big fan of their cheese rolls for an appetizer and their mango sticky rice for dessert hits the spot.
Our first visit... But we will be back! Food was very tasty. We were in a group of ten and everyone enjoyed their good food and the service was outstanding!
No dedicated place in-door for customer to wait while waiting after ordering to-go orders.
If I could give THAI COTTAGE more stars I would. I’ve been coming here since 2002, I’ve grown with them. They continue to serve up great Thai food and each and every time it’s scrumptious. I’ve now got my husband hooked. Thanks for the good food over the years, keep it up!
One of my all time favorite restaurants.
Called them to ask if they will allow dine in if we reach at 8-45opm. They confirmed they will serve if we reach before 9. But after i drove there they were very reluctant to serve us.
So we left the place. This is very unprofessional and i feel they should have someone with better verbal skill over phone.
The place looked good with lot of plants .
