I’ve been trying to find a Thai food restaurant that had good, flavorful, tasty Pad Thai. I’ve gone to so many places in San Antonio, none were good enough. Thankfully after years I’ve found the place!!! AND they have good sushi 🍣 , and I love the way they cook their gyoza 🥟 !! The ladies welcomed us in even though we showed up 5 minutes before closing and they were so sweet and nice and friendly! The music they played was great and the patrons were even friendly. Not one bad thing to say! Can’t wait to go back again!

Thai Chef is cooking some of the most delicious Thai food I've had. The classic Drunken Noodle is spiced just enough that you know you've accomplished something, and the noodles are spot on al dente (chef's kiss).
The chicken satay appetizer is tender, lightly seasoned, and accompanied by a phenomenal spicy peanut sauce.
The space is intimate and warm, and managed by kind and engaged staff. This is most evident as the staff greets regulars by their first name... I love this!
I highly recommend you try Thai Chef, and I have no doubt you'll add it to your dining rotation. Cheers!

The food and service here are top notch! I've never had anything from this place that I wouldn't have again. The menu is not only Thai food, it encompasses Japanese and Vietnamese dishes too. Their curries are great, and so is the sushi. The customer service is also great. Just an all-around inviting place to have a delicious meal.

I ordered take out straight from their website, I ordered 1 Seaweed Salad, 1 Summer Rolls and 1 Megan sushi roll. I went to pick it up and veggie summer rolls were over charged by $1, not a big deal but not what their website that I ordered from stated. Was told their website was not update, well that is false advertisement for your customers who order from your ONLINE MENU. You advertise a price for your take out orders, that’s what you should honor. It’s not the customers fault you don’t update like you should. I then get my order home to find the $7 seaweed salad is rancid. I had other people confirm I wasn’t mistaking this. So there goes another $7 down the drain. The summer rolls are so poorly put together they immediately fell apart, they also didn’t come with the sauces that the menu stated they would. The Megan roll is good except again, they didn’t put the eel sauce as the description on their online menu states. I will not be returning, maybe their in person is a better experience but this ruined it for me.

This is a lovely and cozy restaurant. I stopped by to order take-out. They also have an option to reserve a table. The Staff was friendly and welcoming. I was in the mood for fried rice and was very pleased with it!  The rice was prepared exactly the way I like it, and a big plus was the generous serving size along with plenty of chicken and crisp vegetables. It was delicious! You also have the choice of adding beef or shrimp. The well stuffed summer rolls are light and tasty. The menu has numerous items to select from! I look forward to returning to try the curries, Pho, and sushi.

Stopped in while visiting and must say we’re pleased. The staff is super friendly and warm. We had a special request and to our surprise they accommodated us. We wanted the Thai Basil ground pork —it’s ground pork, bell peppers, basil and rice. We must say they did excellent with our request and we’re very appreciative. The spring rolls was on point as well. Definitely recommend

I ordered my food to go and it did not disappoint. The taste was super flavorful and very authentic. I ordered pork fried rice, Vietnamese rolls and meatball pho. I will definitely be coming back. This was exactly what I was looking tonight. Yum!!

Have come back a couple times and always get the Thai Chef Curry. Definitely a favorite now!

Living in New Braunfles we don’t have many choices for Thai or Asian food in general as it’s all subpar to the big cities close by. So we came here to check it out and because of good reviews with high hopes.

It was meh, not bad or expensive but not great. Not traditional Thai. No eggplant, almost no meat in the pad Thai, slightly burnt flavor to it and non traditional noodles - by my experience at least and no other veggies - green onion or anything. The drunken noodles were “ok”, but not much more than noodles oil and salt, not the deep rich flavors I’ve come to love with Thai food. The Green curry was the best thing we got and I’d recommend that for sure (chicken).

The Tom ka soup wasn’t bad but again wasn’t at all great. More sweet and creamy with avocado (this was a first) than with deep flavors like lemongrass and whatever magic they do to this dish. Overall, it’s not bad but I’ll not be making the drive down to seek it out again.

I love Thai good but this is one of my worst experiences servife and food wise. Ordered my food at 5:06pm, they said 25 mins. I showed up 30 minutes later, they said my food was being packaged, 10 minus later-- still being packaged. another 10 and same thing. There's a crowd of takeouters forming and 1 guy said he ordered at 4:30pm and they gave his order to the wrong person. it's almost 6:30 at this point. How ridiculous? An hour and a half after ordering, the only consolation would have been if my food was good after waiting soloist an hour for my takeout order with little kids in tow. However, the food was absolute trash! My fried rice was the burned and blandest rice of any kind I've ever had, my drunken noodles and pad see ew were hard and stuck together. The mango sticky rice sauce was way too watery and the mangoes weren't even ripe. The rangoon and the sauce were just off. The orange chicken was ok and the spring rolls were fine but that's it. My pad thai was also too stuck together and hard and none of my family (who love thai food) wanted any. It was a complete waste of almost $90 and 75% of the food went in the trash. So not only did they waste my time, but also my money. If they were honest enough to tell me my order wasn't even stated yet, I would have dropped off my kids and returned for pickup but the fact that they were dishonest and kept stalling me pissed me off more than the poor food quality. I would normally give places a 2nd try as the non-take out food actually LOOKED decent but I can't this time.

Delicious Thai restaurant. Just moved to the area, this is the best and closest Thai restaurant in Cibolo. The pad se ew, egg drop soup, pad Thai and Tum Yum are delicious. Recommend trying this spot!

One of my favorite Thai spots on the Northeast side. This might be the only spot I actually eat Pad Thai from. I love the flavor of this location. It’s a small store but stays busy. Definitely worth checking out when you’re in the area.

called in an order for pickup at 7. after 40min of waiting asked for my money back to just have the receptionist tell me that they just started on my order. she would not give me back my money. got my order. went home to phone the manager to complain about the experience but the girl on the phone kept telling me bad connection and hung up. do not waste your time at this establishment

The food was absolutely amazing and the service was even better. We enjoyed chatting with the servers and had the best lunch everrrrrr. Highly recommend - especially if you’re an active duty member.

This is the best pho I’ve ever eaten. It was so fresh. Our dinner party at five all ordered a different type of pho and loved it. We also ordered summer rolls which were delicious. Portions are very filling. We’ve been telling all of our friends about this place. We are looking forward to returning.

My pad Thai today (9/24) this evening was delicious but my husband noticed after eating his chicken pad Thai that he became queasy. He only finished half of his because he became violently ill and vomiting. I want to assume the chicken wasn’t cooked properly or perhaps was tainted because again I had the beef pad Thai and I’m fine but the chicken did have a little of a funky odor this evening after smelling the rest of his prior to trashing the rest. Definitely will be a last time visit for us and will drive further out to our usual Thai place we love.

This place has some of the most delicious Thai food in the area. I love coming here with family and friends to just have a good time eating. I'm literally eating the food as we speak. The service is amazing,the servers are so kind, and they let me go in the back to compliment the chef's.

We tried something new for us while we were in the Schertz area. We ate dinner at Thai Chef. I was phenomenal, absolutely delicious. They make each plate fresh to order, the service was impeccable. All of the servers knew the menu frontwards and backwards, which was perfect. It helped us decide what we were going to order. A definite 5 ⭐️, go and try it. You will be glad you did

Absolutely delicious food! Mary and the whole staff were amazing and very attentive. We tried a little bit of everything, pho, drunken noodles, sushi, and the papaya and beef salads! Everything was so good! Cant wait to come back!

I have not tried the sushi here. But, the stir-fried dishes are phenomenal. I especially like the Phat dishes and Panang Curry. The coconut soup, Tom Kha, is to die for. I do wish they had a larger option as I would get it as an entree in a heartbeat. Seating is limited, but in warmer months, outside seating is available. I should also add the staff here, which is great. I enjoy talking to the owner when they are a bit less busy.

I didn’t take pictures because we were in a hurry. We got there 40 minutes before they closed. And were going to get it to go. They said no no. Come in and sit. We sat down and said you can put it in to go plates. We will eat a few bites and go. They said no. Sit. Enjoy yourself. All of the food taste fresh and delicious! We took most of it to go and are going to eat it while watching tv.

It was our first time here as we just moved to the area. The sushi was super fresh and the fried rice was very good with a good portion. The Thai spring rolls came with four rolls in an order. So good portion sizes. We will be back for sure!

Food is on point to appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. The fire steak is excellent, then their sticky rice dessert is amazing. When we come through San Antonio this is our must stop and eat, Thai food place . Oh and I forgot to mention their curries yum outstanding! Watch the spice levels though. Forgot to mention the staff is very ATTENTIVE! We were busy visiting with friends but next time will have pictures of their delicious cuisine.

Good quality food, and presented thoughtfully. This being my first time there the food and presentation was a nice surprise. The restaurant feels small, and decor probably should be more minimal. On our visit another group dominated the small space, talking to other customers across the room, shouting at Siri to change the music from something pretty chill to whatever fit their taste including AC/DC. Really strange and inappropriate, detracting from our experience in a big way.

I was asked what I would choose to be my last meal before I died and I immediately thought of the Massaman curry from Thai Chef

The servers were very pleasant, but not overly attentive. The Thai and Chinese style dishes were good, but not great. The sushi, however, was phenomenal! As a small town eatery it seemed as though they felt obligated to serve the entire Pan Asian cuisine and I think they might do better to focus on one.

The food was quick and delicious!! We had the wontons and steamed dumplings to start. Our entrees were the steak pho and Paneng Curry. Both of these dishes were flavorful and servings were plenty. We also tried the yellowtail spicy sushi, also good! Didn’t take pictures because we were so excited about the food and we were busy stuffing our faces! Hahaha. We will definitely be back! Customer service was on point too!

Food is decent but not great. Went tonight and found 2 hairs in my wife’s pho. Won’t be back

Delicious food. It is a small restaurant, so it's hard to bring a large party of people, and fills up quickly, but the food is definitely worth it. They have traditional Chinese food and sushi menu options in addition to Thai food, so it works well for my family. We haven't tried any dish we didn't love. I wish there was a kid's menu or lunch menu with smaller portions and prices, though.

Just ate there with my daughter & it was absolutely delicious. They def made their way into my top 3 spots as I had the pho! The decor and atmosphere were super cute and the women that worked there were all very polite and friendly. Also don’t know what station they were playing but i enjoyed the jams they had on today ☺️

I eat here every time I visit Schertz. This place truly is astonishing. One of my goals is to eat everything on the menu. You will definitely be full and left satisfied

I was pretty excited to try this new restaurant, but my first visit was pretty flat.

Even though it has the word “Thai” in its name, the restaurant menu is a hodgepodge of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese dishes. A Sloppy menu is usually an off putting flag and in this case was no exception as it tastes like the food is either being made hours in advance or being prepared from prepackaged pastes. I’d love to see the chefs prepare the food to be proven wrong.

Service is pretty poor here. The wait staff asked for our drink orders, but the restaurant doesn’t provide a drink menu. The waitress wasn’t able to give us any options for drinks so we just ordered water and a soda.

The restaurant tables are also crammed. Each table has a large round serving tray that must have been a foot in diameter with s&p along with sriracha and hoisin sauce. If you’re expecting the usual Thai condiments of sugar, fish sauce, chili flakes, and vinegar- they are not in this tray.

But all this to say that we sat at a 4 top and ordered 2 entrees and one app and the plates wouldn’t fit on the tables. Secondly, why bother calling them appetizers when every single item we ordered came out at the same time, less than 5 minutes after we placed our order?

Getting the food so quickly was also a little concerning which is why I suspect it was all prepared ahead of time. The spring rolls were good I have no complaints there. But the drunken noodles were terrible. The color was off, the dish was dry, the cuts of beef seemed to be the lowest quality of beef the restaurant could scrape up, and the vegetable portion was abysmal. The noodles themselves had a gluey texture and everything had a which char texture which makes me suspect the dish is made ahead of time and then quickly reheated on a wok when it is ordered.

The panang curry tasted tasted good. I disagree a little with the choice of veg as it is usually served with bell peppers but here it’s full of mostly beans, along with your choice of protein. The main complaint I have with this dish is that it’s nothing I couldn’t have whipped up myself at home with a package of panang curry paste, some beans and some raw shrimp. There’s no complexity to the curry being served here.

Overall I couldn’t even give this place 3 stars because I’d be willing to go back to a 3 star restaurant if I was in the mood but I can easily say I will never return to Thai Chef.

The meals are very affordable though. In my opinion I would rather pay a little more for better food, but maybe this is what the local patrons like?

My husband and mother in law had never been here so I took them for their first visit. My husband was so impressed he wants us to have a weekly date night here. My MIL had never had cucumber salad or Thai fried rice and enjoyed both very much. The service was excellent as was the food. I don’t know why we waited so long to come back here (I’d been several years ago and enjoyed it) but we will become regulars. I highly recommend the Pad Thai, cucumber salad, summer rolls, and Penny roll! Delish!

Cozy, small restaurant. It's size under values it's popularity. Food was good. I personally think the rice was over steamed but flavors were on point. You must try their signature sushi rolls. 🍣 The Austin is an amazing introduction to sushi (cooked).

I've gotta say, I found this cozy little spot a few years ago, and now it's my go-to spot. The ladies who greet and serve are the sweetest and make you feel at home. Have an issue, they fix it immediately. Need something, just ask, and it's done. This small business deserves a lot of love, so if you're in the area, please check them out, and if you're there, find Rose and get her to sing you a few notes.

Ordered takeout this evening. Drunken noodles and Paht Woonsen. My usual Thai place is closed from 3 to 5, so I stopped here instead. Profoundly disappointed. Fresh spring rolls are bland, and the dipping sauce was absolutely disgusting. My paht woonsen hardly had any vegetables and was spicy, not what I was looking for. Curry is spicy, and my opinion this dish should not be spicy. Our dine in experience in past times was better.

Amazing food! Messed up my order a couple times but always make it right! Fried rice is one of the best in the area, along with everything else.

Went here for the first time last night with a group. It is a super clean, cozy restaurant. The service was wonderful and so was the food! Everyone loved their dishes and we had 3 different appetizers and all were delicious! I highly recommend and will definitely be a regular!!!

Best Thai anywhere near here. Very limited seating and closes too early but can’t go wrong with take out. Have to try their “special dishes”. Every one is amazing. Not a fan of their rice/sushi, sushi part is fine but the rice is overcooked for my liking.

One word says it all… “Fresh.” Not many restaurants can I say taste as fresh as Thai Chef. A lot of times when I eat Asian cuisine, it tends to be oily and soggy and in my opinion that makes the food bland. But Thai Chef did a wonderful job with the food and even the presentation was very good. I had the Tempura appetizer which tasted light and delicious. It was followed by the Teriyaki Chicken Bento box that came with Teriyaki Chicken over white rice, 2 pot stickers, California roll and a small salad which all tasted fresh!!! I really encourage every person to try it at least once, you’ll be happy you did!!!

I love this place ! I live in Alamo ranch area and I drive over here for the deliciously made Crab Rangoon’s and I recently the Chicken Fried Rice which was fantastic! I always get there at 7:55 unfortunately since I’m so far but they are so happy to serve me in any case. Service amazing. Food is exquisite! Will always come back

Wasn't impressed with what we ordered the first times around, but gave it another try and found that we like the sushi here and tiger cry steak!I wish they clearly disclosed and marked allergens and ingredients on their menu for those with allergens or special diets.

Small restaurant that was very busy during lunch. Even with it being busy the wait staff was very attentive. The Sunomono appetizer is delicious. Definitely going back to try some of the other dishes on their menu.

Cute Thai place, tried the pad Thai and a few appetizers. The pad thai was a little sweeter than I prefer but everything else was great. Service was fast, was able to get in and out in 45 minutes!

The sushi rolls are so so good!

Very small restaurant, with little sitting, and sometimes there a wait for a table. It's worth the wait! The food and service is fantastic. Love the food and the service is always friendly and welcoming!

I got the panang curry with fried tofu, and my husband got orange chicken. It was so delicious 🤤 the portions were generous! Price was great 👍

I LOVE this place. Such a gem in an out-of-the-way place. Worth the drive if you don't live nearby. Everything I've ever ordered has been made perfectly with evident care. Service is great and everyone is friendly and kind. Highly recommend!!

This is our new favorite place! The staff is super friendly. The food comes out hot and fast. The food tastes great. Not a lot of heavy sauces so you can tastes the natural flavors in the food.

Finally, some tasty Thai food on this side of town [I know, I'm probably late], but I've overheard two people in the last week mention this place so I checked it out. Normally, I have to add soy sauce or some other type of sauce on my Thai food, but this food had such a good flavor, I didn't want to mess it up. Delicious!!!

The food and service here is always exceptional when I go and I have been here quite a few times.
They never let your drink get low and the ambiance feels casually elegant.
Whether coming for a date or family gathering I highly recommend it.
Also military friendly, as it is not far from Randolph, and they offer bento (lunch) boxes for those of us with short lunch breaks.

This is one of our favorite Thai food restaurant. The portions are very good and filling and the food is always hot and fresh. But the restaurant is very small so there isn’t that much space for dining.

The food is AMAZING, I'm coming back for Mom 🥹. I had the lemon chicken & my partner always gets pad thai.

This is my go to for Thai Food. I'm very picky when it comes to Thai Food. I recommend coming here earlier to avoid dinner as it gets quite busy. The restaurant is small so there is a wait for dinner. My go to is their Thai Fried Rice with chicken. I always request for the sides of the fish chili sauce they have. It compliments the rice if you like spicy. The Tom Kha soup is also another go to when I'm in the mood for soup. They serve it with avocado. My son orders the beef and broccoli...oh boy the meat is so tender and flavors are just right. Their curries are delicious as well. If you're craving Thai, definitely make the drive!

Valentine’s Day lunch with My Love. Been here several times! Seaweed salad, green curry, and red curry were Amazing! Highly recommend if your looking for some Thai food or sushi!

The staff is amazing, the service is amazing, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing. I ordered the beef Pho, it's the best Pho I've had, we'll definitely be back! Our entire party of 8 enjoyed the food. Y'all have to try the Thai Tea, too!

Everything was great!! The ladies took great care of us, glad we got there early because it got packed!! Will come again when in the area.

I always get the Pho and a few rolls. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal. The staff are super friendly and it always makes my day just that much better to eat there. You know the days when you're hangry and annoyed at coworkers? Just go there enjoy food and have a beer.

I wasn’t sure if coming to this place however as soon as we walked in a delightful aroma of fresh thai food welcomed us. Followed by a welcoming attentive staff which all look very professional wearing a Asain Uniform.
Definitely coming back!!!!

Great restaurant and a friendly environment. This is my go-to lunch restaurant. Even my wife is now on board with this restaurant. She loves the sticky rice with the mango. I normally go for the beef stir fry Thai hot.
