We are a family owned and operated restaurant providing a relaxing atmosphere to make you feel at home. Our authentic Thai cuisine and Chinese dishes are full of flavor while providing generous portions. Our Noodle dishes offer a taste of Thailand like no other. We serve Thai Teas and Bubble drinks providing special tastes that are a perfect complement to any meals. All ingredients are fresh, unique and authentic.
My recent lunch experience at Sukhothai in Alamo Ranch presented a vivid tapestry of contrasts. On the culinary front, the restaurant serves as a testament to the rich and vibrant flavors that Thai cuisine has to offer. The affordability of the meals was an immediate plus, setting a positive tone as we perused the menu.
We began our gastronomic journey with the potstickers and cheese rolls, both of which were served fresh, hot, and were unequivocally delicious. These appetizers hinted at the culinary expertise lying within the kitchen’s walls. The main course further cemented our appreciation, with the Thai fried rice with chicken hitting all the right notes of flavor and spice at a level marked ‘Hot’. It was a symphony of taste that was both exhilarating and comforting. The sesame chicken, with its perfect blend of crispy texture and saucy goodness, was another highlight that deserves praise.
However, the dining experience took a turn upon observing the restaurant’s interior conditions. Despite the relatively small and uncrowded space, cleanliness was noticeably neglected. Tables remained unbussed, coated in remnants of previous diners’ meals, and the floors were in dire need of attention. Moreover, the staff’s nonchalant attitude towards maintaining the establishment’s cleanliness, particularly a front-of-house worker who alternated between taking orders and personal leisure activities, was disheartening. It was evident that much could be done to enhance the ambiance and overall dining experience.
Despite these shortcomings, the culinary delights provided a compelling reason to overlook the less savory aspects of the environment. I must give special mention to the sweet sticky rice with mango dessert - a dish that not only tantalized the taste buds but also delighted the senses with its unique blue-colored rice, making it my favorite rendition of the dessert I’ve encountered anywhere.
In conclusion, Sukhothai in Alamo Ranch offers a culinary experience that can be described as a diamond in the rough. While the food stands out for its quality and flavor, the dining environment leaves much to be desired. A little attention to detail and cleanliness could transform this establishment into a gem worthy of its culinary offerings.
This is the best Thai spot in the area. Curry’s are all great. Cheese rolls and pot stickers were delicious. Thai tea was perfect but the pork fried rice was the star of the meal! Best fried rice in the area! Server was amazing. it’s a smaller restaurant but every seat was full and the one server available took care of everyone with a beautiful smile on her face.
Good food and service. Convenient location away from Alamo Ranch shopping center area. Enjoyed our meal overall. If I we to complain and I am not. The crispy pork in the fired rice was more like jerky and dry. Place needs a good cleaning. We will be back. Overall great experience.
Great little location for Thai food. The pad thai was very good, and the portions are big. The pot stickers are really good, the only thing that wasn't great was the peanut sauce for the spring rolls, it felt like it was only peanut butter spread. The papaya salad was missing a little more crunchy-ness, but it was good. Our server was amazing, and went above and beyond.
We loved this place for a long while. When they first opened the food was good and the service was great.
The food has dipped in quality but is still above average. The dip probably comes more from complacency than skill.
The service has dropped a lot. We've ordered in, ordered out, and sometimes a mix of both. We were sitting at the table done with our food waiting for our to go order (for the kid at home) and after 30 min I went up to pay and just take it off the check. There it was just sitting on the shelf waiting to be picked up. It was not busy, the information was never passed to us nor were we checked on while we were waiting.
That was the final straw, we gave the place several chances because of the early days being so good.
Its run by good people but the atmosphere, the service, and the food comes across as tired, complacent, and just getting through the day. A bit worn out over all. They all need a break to recharge and come back fresh.
Update Aug 2024 : Surprise extra 3% charge to your bill, “credit card fee” , that you won’t know until you get up to pay. Credit card is a thing for decades, and now suddenly there is a fee that I the consumer has to pay??? Would have been nice to know beforehand. Food is still good, but unfortunately I either won’t come back, or reduce the tip by 3%
Original review : Great food and service. Their lowest Spicy Level (Medium) is already spicy, so watch out. Despite 2 hiccups (found shrimp in pork noddle, 1 piece of uncooked beef), this place still deserves 5 stars. They’ve only been opened for 3 days, so mistakes are expected. The delicious flavor of the food made up for it. Will be back for sure.
This is our third time here and it continues to be amazing! We LOvE the pineapple friend rice. Their love and care in the beautiful presentation is just BEAUTIFUL! We highly recommend this place. They also have a heat scale, be careful what you ask for 😉, in the best way.
P.s. their cucumbers salad and what ever that magical dressing is is delicious
I recently had the pleasure of visiting your incredible establishment and I am compelled to reach out and express my utmost satisfaction with the dining experience I had.
Allow me to begin by saying, "Wow!" Your Thai cuisine truly left an indelible impression on my taste buds. In fact, it was the best Thai food I have had in years! Every dish I tried was bursting with flavors that transported me straight to the heart of Thailand.
One dish that stood out for me was the Thai Fried Rice with Crispy Pork. The combination of tender and crunchy textures, complemented by the added shrimp, created a harmonious symphony of tastes that had me craving for more. It was an explosion of flavors with every bite!
To accompany my incredible meal, I indulged in a cup of your delightful Thai Tea. Its unique blend of aromatic spices and refreshing sweetness was the perfect companion to my culinary journey. I highly recommend it to all who visit your establishment.
Now, let me talk about the highlight of my evening - the Fried Bananas. Though typically served as a dessert, I took the liberty of enjoying them as part of my main course to strike a balance between the spicy flavors and the crispy, juicy goodness of the fried bananas. It was a sensational and unexpected delight.
I want to take a moment to express my excitement about discovering new businesses in our community, especially Food that offers such extraordinary culinary experiences. I have no doubt that your passion, dedication, and attention to detail will pave the way for your resounding success.
I am truly grateful for the impeccable service I received from your attentive and friendly staff. From the moment I stepped foot inside your establishment until the moment I left, I felt truly pampered. The warm ambiance and attention given to every detail made my experience all the more memorable.
You have earned yourselves a loyal customer, and I will be sure to spread the word about the exceptional dining experience you offer.
Thank you once again for creating an unforgettable culinary adventure, and I eagerly await my next visit.
Food was soooo good!
The service was the AMAZING San Antonio needs more waitstaff like SANDRA.....
I placed an order To-GO w/Uber Eats. Order was completely wrong. Yes I understand it now has to go through UBER for any refund/after action; however still the restaurants fault and not the drivers. Super frustrating for a customer. I called the restaurant to alert them, because if they got my order wrong, they likely got someone else's order wrong also. They seemed very unbothered by it and dismissed my concern . I hope whoever got my order enjoyed it 🤣🫶🏻
Food is always consistent. Tried several dishes. The fried pork thai rice is my favorite.
Great little Thai place!
The food in taste is absolutely 5 stars so is the rice. I love everything they have. The only gripe I have which ruined it for me was I asked for no spice at all and both curry’s came so spicy I couldn’t eat any of it. None of it. Ended up just eating the rice and trashing the rest. It’s sucks because their food IS good.

I met a friend for lunch yesterday. First time for us. The food was AMAZING! Our server was a delight. She was prompt, sweet, and attentive. Hands down the best Thai I have had since moving to San Antonio over 9 years ago. Thank you 😊
Everything was just a little disappointing. Service felt like one person was working, and her teenage kids (I assume) were also there but seemed incapable of independent action. Drunken noodles were unlike any I've ever had before, but unfortunately, not in a good way. They used Sriracha for spice, which gave it a red color and somehow made it very greasy. Massaman curry was good, but I would not eat there again.
If you are looking for an authentic Thai food this is not the place for you. And if you like your food spicy they use sriracha chili sauce not a fresh or dried chili pepper like other Thai restaurants usually use. I ordered chicken drunken noodles (mild spicy) and chicken pad thai (not spicy) for Take Out. Both only contained like 6 thin slices of chicken meat. My drunken noodles color was red orange and I could smell the sriracha when I opened the container. I called to complain and the lady was nice to make me a new one and this time I want it not spicy. I brought back the food and the new one I got had a very mild spicy flavor. The incovenience of driving back and forth was annoying. And when I got back home the food tasted like lot of sodium. I just ate a little bit ‘coz I already lost my appetite. It was very disappointing. I wish I just drove to my Thai friend’s restaurant (30mins away). But I was lazy to drive through the traffic during rush hour.
Update: Hello! Owner, I forgot to mention this was my second visit in your restaurant. My husband and I were disappointed at our first visit. I just gave your place a second chance yesterday hoping it will be good this time but unfortunately it was not. Of course, I don’t have knowledge of Thai food. I only visited Thailand so many times, I have relatives that live there and majority of my friends are Thai. I know sriracha sauce or crushed red chili pepper are used in drunken noodles. Just pay attention to your customers request. I ordered mild spicy not medium spicy which was given to me. My taste buds know the difference of good food and very salty food. After reading your response I will definitely take my taste buds and money elsewhere.
Delicious. Just delicious. I recommend!

First-time visit: The Sukhothai Thai fried rice was heavily saturated with either soy, sodium, oil, etc. Water was never topped off. The cheese rolls were above average. This is the first Thai restraurant in the SA metro area where I did not take my leftovers home amongst the three entrees that were ordered: Pan Wun Sen, Crispy Pork fried rice, and the above mentioned fried rice. Very disappointing, one and done!
The food here is exceptional! I'll be back, ASAP!
Crispy pork fried rice is all you need to know
Ordered delivery; came promptly but decided not to ring the doorbell; had to guess if my food was at my front door or not. Additionally the rice appeared to be leftover from a couple of days…REALLY DISAPPOINTED! Saw the high reviews and thought I would give it a chance…NEVER AGAIN!!! NO THANK YOU!!!
Good Food. GREAT SERVICE. They aim to please!
The best Thai food in this corner of the world. It would be average in like uh like, Denver, but here, it's 5 stars.
First time visitor to this restaurant and I REALLY wanted to love the food I ordered (chicken pad thai, chicken fried rice) but it was so saturated with sodium and oil I could not eat it despite my hunger. The waitress who was divine and double teaming it as the cashier was helpful in removing it from our bill and I ordered another dish (chicken with peppers and onions in a clear sauce and steamed rice). Unfortunately, this dish had an unflattering flavor so I paid the bill and left after a few bites. I will say the spring rolls were nice and my husband was able to eat his crunchy pork fried rice despite the sodium content. I would say it was just not our cup of tea but we think it’s important to support small business and others have had a better experience given the 4.6 rating that prompted us to try them out.
Outstanding restaurant with fast service and delicious food!! 😋
The chicken panang is one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Would love to visit again.
The pineapple curry ( Mild & Medium spice) was soooo good. My wife and I also had a small conversation with the owner/ manager (Not sure). She was so humble and nice.
The food is absolutely amazing. I have enjoyed Thai food since I was a child and this place not only gives me reminiscence, but at the same time a completely new experience. Their Massaman Curry is a dish I come for every single week, and they have their items ready for you in mere minutes. Highly recommend and love this place.
We got food poisoning from tofu pad Thai. We know for sure it was this because my son and I ate it for dinner on April 17 and we got sick around 36 hours later. My husband ate it for lunch the next day and got sick 36 hours later.
We will unfortunately be avoiding this place in the future.
The chicken Pad Thai was amazing. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

The food is good but not nearly as good as the Tezel location. Idk if it's just different cooks or what. The spring rolls at both locations are so good
Alive with flavor; Pad Mama, Basil fried rice, pepper steak all on point
The fried rice has a good flavor and service was very friendly. The restaurant was very clean and did a great job with our takeout.
Been here twice. Delicious pad Thai and Thai tea with boba. Too small inside though.
Great place. First time trying this Thai restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious & the service was excellent.
Great little location for Thai food. The pad thai was very good, and the portions are big. The pot stickers are really good, the only thing that wasn't great was the peanut sauce for the spring rolls, it felt like it was only peanut butter spread. I've tried pad thai from all over texas, it's my favorite dish. I don't like giving bad reviews. But I gave this establishment 3 chances to change my opinion. Twice at the restaurant on tezel and unfortunately this location is the exact same. It's bland, almost like a microwaved meal. It has no favors that most pad thai meals have. We purchased two pad thai plates and me, my wife and two kids left everything after a couple bites. So the forest animals around my house will have about 3 pounds of noodles tonight.
Very friendly, great customer service, and best of all excellent food!
It gets better and better every new dish I try here! They also have amazing friendly service. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area!
ETA: Changing review to 5 stars, ordered fried rice again with extra pork and I received just that. You can tell they value their service and customers. thank you!
This is my family's go to spot for thai. The flavor and the spice is always on point. We only ever order takeout/delivery so can only speak on that experience. I only rated 4 stars because every single time that I order pork fried rice with extra pork (which costs extra), they always give me chicken instead & I'm not a fan of chicken breast at all. I'm not sure the reason for this but please make sure your customers are okay with this change instead of making the decision for them.
For the price, it should be better. I can get the same bad quality at Panda Express. The orange chicken and sesame chicken were mushy and spongy instead of crispy. The sauces were good though. The fried rice tasted like it was old oil and had no flavor. The potstickers had the same old oil flavor and also not much flavor. The cheese rolls were good. The red curry was ok. We won’t return.
As always delicious food. The Panang Curry is soooo delicious.
We were greeted by a friendly waitress , who took our order , agreed to a few changes to our food order-removed onions that we didn’t want , and served our delicious food quickly . 😊
The food is authentic and delicious!!! It's my favorite Thai restaurant. Everything that I have tried is good.
Picked up my order..I had Phat Thai with Chicken. I will get it a little hotter next time and I prefer shrimp so that too. I loved my Fresh Rolls they were the best I have ever had! Will definitely be back!
I ordered through DoorDash, the crispy pork fried rice-very hot, the pot stickers and spring rolls. The rice was just perfect, I like it very hot. The other appetizers were great as well. I will be ordering again.
Just as good as the Valley Hi location, always fresh.
I love the food here, BUT! Even if this location it’s near home I do prefer to drive to the tezel location bc in this one they have slightly different quality, with more fat and sometimes slightly overcooked (hard to chew), this is my favorite rest in San Antonio, at first I was very excited that I got a more near location but I do notice the difference between cookers
I ordered to go the duck curry in mild still so hot, and the duck was too crispy, sesame chicken and lo mein chicken which was a family favorite, and the cheese rolls which are a must. All in all a definite go to restaurant. A four star service because had to wait to be greeted not sure of staffing issue.
A great place for a nice midweek dinner. Cozy & friendly location, and the food was delicious! I definitely recommend this spot.
Food is amazing, service is amazing, worth making a 45 min drive, will be back. Best Pad Thai I have ever had!
The best Thai food in San Antonio! You won't belive it until you taste it! Thank you for doing things the right way 🙏
The pad thai is the best I've ever had. Service is a hit!!
The food is always amazing. We ordered the pad Thai mild to medium spicy with chicken and shrimp. Portion was enough to split into 2 meals or share with someone. Dining area is small but service is great.
Loved the pork fried rice, the cheese and spring rolls are delicious. Pad woonsen was also very good. The portions are very generous, we had to get to go boxes. Loved this place, we will definitely be back❤️
Excellent ! Really good .. I'll come back for sure
Small hole in the wall that’s packs huge flavor! My favorite Thai food in San Antonio hands down! Be cautious of spice levels!!
Excellent food and service! My new favorite place!
Food was fresh service was excellent.

The best crab fried rice for the price it was a huge serving. I really enjoyed their pad won Sen. I honestly came in because at their other big restaurant by Lackland they offered lunch specials and here they don't but still pleased with the price and portion amount. So happy to know they'll be opening another spot on Potranco. This place is my #1 spot from now on.
Mi gusta!
Sukhothai Hot is hot, but good!
I officially have a new favorite spot. Everything was so fresh and tasted amazing.
Amazing highly recommend⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great place for Thai! I ordered Masaman Curry which was phenomenal. The service was attentive and quick even though they just had one staff member to take orders. Atmosphere is definitely hole-the-wall as it shares a parking lot with a gas station and is relatively small with just having 4 tables. That being said, the food was great. I will definitely order takeout from here in the future.
I moved here a year ago and have tried many Thai places in town. This BY FAR is the BEST! I got the fresh rolls with tofu for an appetizer...enough for 2 people! Then I got the Pad See Ew with chicken... DELICIOUS!! Had to take half of it home, there was so much. I will most definitely be back!!! YUMMY!!

I'm always a fan of Sukhothai. This location did not disappoint.
Yummy, Yummy! We tried this new Thai place on the NW Side of San Antonio for takeout and really enjoyed the food. We ordered Pad Thai, Pad Mama, Spring Rolls, and a Watermelon Boba Tea. Ordering online was easy. appreciated the tailoring options online to add or remove the different meat and veggie options and choose the spiciness level. Also, they give a military discount which is much appreciated; may their business prosper.
Finally we have some good Thai food in Alamo Ranch..good portions and decent prices. Looking forward to trying more dishes
I had a bad day and was craving for comfort food. Been waiting on Sukhothai to open! So here I am with my crab fried rice. They give military discount. They thought I was taking out, no biggie, I ate and the lady got me water to drink realizing I was going to eat inside. Cute clean place and the food came out great. Will come back to try other food and boba drinks :)
The food was excellent..the prices are very fair..great service..if you like Thai food you won't be disappointed..
The very best Thai food in San Anto
Good food and service. Convenient location away from Alamo Ranch shopping center area. Enjoyed our meal overall. If I we to complain and I am not. The crispy pork in the fired rice was more like jerky and dry. Place needs a good cleaning. We will be back. Overall great experience.
Just ordered from here on DoorDash for the first time since this location has opened. Things to note my noodle dish doesn’t have foil in the bottom and the chicken is a bit over cooked or a different texture than how it is at the Tezel location (Pad Woonsen) and the rice soup is super sweet and it wasn’t full for $6.99 very disappointing. Needless to say I could tell that right away this wasn’t from the Tezel location… I’m kinda sad.
Banger! Delicious authentic food and you can tell it was made with love. Just look at the pics they dont lie. Recommend the Potstickers and the pork fried rice
The red curry is great!
Yum! This was the best Thai food we have had in a long time, we definitely look forward to coming back!
Great place! I loved the duck red curry and the panang curry.
Best Thai food in San Antonio! Very good quality and flavor. Good fast service. So glad this location finally opened. I’m a regular here. I recommend the pad Thai and red curry it’s excellent.
Great new spot in Alamo Ranch. I've been excited to try it and was pleased with the food and service. The dessert was awesome too! I recommend the mama noodles and mango sticky rice.
Best thai food in San Antonio. All three locations are great. They are always super busy but just be patient and wait for the good food.
Food is fresh, employees are all so sweet!
I got the thai hot sesame chicken with steamed rice and it was sooooo good! 10/10
I also get their sweet rice with vanilla ice cream and o my gosh so delicious, not too sweet either, I think everyone should definitely try !
Cozy restaurant seating at tables of 4, but they made it work for our family of six. All the food was great (shrimp tempura, pot stickers, drunken noodle, massaman curry, orange chicken, mango sticky rice and fried banana.) Our picky kids had seconds! Waitresses were busy but attentive and friendly. Will be returning!
Really hope this place stays busy. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai (medium was pretty hot) and fried Pot Stickers. Delicious! Great and friendly service. Small place, only 6 tables.
So happy they are now open! Got the fresh rolls, cheese rolls, massaman curry, Thai tea, and Tom kha gai to go. Fantastic! Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly, food was hot and flavorful. We will be back regularly!
