🍽️ This was our first time trying Thai food, and honestly, we were really disappointed! The dishes were super bland and dry 😩. We expected something with a little more flavor and kick, but instead, it felt like we were just eating plain ingredients 🥱. The presentation was nice, but that’s about it. If this is what Thai food is supposed to be, we’re not impressed 😕. Not the experience we were hoping for!
This is the best gluten-free Thai food I have ever had! It is seriously legit. I have traveled to Thailand multiple times and can attest to the authenticity of the dishes. This is a great take-out restaurant and you can eat in their small sitting area, as well. It is located across from UT-Dallas, so there is a lot of foot traffic in the area. I will be eating here in the future, now that I know how great the food is. My son does not have any diet restrictions and he loved his basil chicken and rice dish. You can't go wrong on any meal here. So good!!!
Best Thai restaurant which serves a super fresh and healthy fare with a giant menu full of wonderful selections. They have a vegan, vegetarian, and omnivore options in each category from appetizers to entrees. We tried 2 appetizers and 4 entrees and each item had wonderful levels of flavor. They offer their own unbelievable sauces that complement each appetizers. They also have their own set of hot sauces that are so unique and offer another level of flavor to the food. Heat level ranges are from 1 to 10 on entrees. They even grow their own herbs out front for their restaurant...so you know it's fresh. Drink flavors are even more unique and there is a large selection to choose from. You will not be disappointed at the quality, price, or menu offerings. This is a go to for the best Thai!
We had a really great experience at this restaurant. It's a very clean, nice open atmosphere. The staff was absolutely wonderful and extremely accommodating to us. We have a family member who is in a wheelchair and the staff went well out of their way to make sure she was accommodated. They were extremely respectful.
The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the crispy garlic chicken with garlic rice and from the appetizer menu I believe it's called cheesy crab.
Good prices and good size servings
Fresh Thai food near the UTD campus. It’s in a strip mall, so there’s not a lot of room for atmosphere, but they have cute decorations with the umbrellas. The food can be customized to your spice level. Everything we’ve tried tastes great. We’ve had the chicken and fried rice, the pad Thai, the fried tofu appetizers (it had French fries, which seemed odd but worked), spring rolls with chicken and with fried tofu. Their fried tofu is delicious.
I've been going here for 3 years and the food is bomb everytime, the guys who work there know me and have been very understanding when I get there late to pick up my food.
Best fried paneer garlic rice and thai fried rice.!
This place has such a great vibe! I highly recommend the garlic rice with fried chicken and the vegetable spring rolls—they taste amazing. They offer a wide variety of dishes with great customization options, making it perfect for anyone craving delicious Thai food. Definitely worth a visit!
Ordered the fried chicken rice and it might be the worst I've ever had. This seems like random ingredients were thrown together and not cooked properly. The spring rolls were soggy and chewy.
Amazing food and service! Niki is great!
Yum!

free chilli flakes in the food
I tried their fried chicken with garlic fr rice.
It was a good portion meal. However, food (I ordered medium level2) was way too spicy
Easy and delicious Thai takeout! The Pad See Ew is my favorite but their curry is equally delicious. The restaurant is conveniently located across the street from UT Dallas for easy access for students and university employees. All dishes are served in plastic to-go containers.
A place where the spice levels aren’t watered down. If you can’t hack heat, don’t order it spicy and you’ll enjoy your meal. If you can, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Had the drunken noodle and pad thai—ordered spicy level 3/10, first level of hot. Got the nasal passage cleared but still could taste my dish. 👌
*they even warn you no refunds or exchanges on the spice level option, so order carefully bc like salt, you can always add more spice but you can’t take it off.
The Tom Yum was as salty as ocean water and very greasy.
The dipping sauce for the salad rolls was too oily.
I didn’t even try everything I ordered, it was so off-putting.
Perhaps they’re using a ton of msg? Not sure why I didn’t like the flavors, nor why I have such an upset stomach.
At lease they have mango sticky rice, though!
This place is boring and overly functional. Not impressed with their to go service, nor quality of food.
Very bad service, very rude
Highly recommend, the ordering is done by iPad, but easy to navigate.
I'm not much on tech. But managed to get what I wanted ordered.
The food is okay, but I will not return because all customers are forced to order from a tablet instead of from a person with whom you can talk to ask about the different dishes they have. Most of the time there is no one at the counter to address. It also means they do not accept cash.
I find this extremely irritating.
Vegans and Vegetarians rejoice! Pinto Thai was made for us! There are so many choices! I usually get the fresh rolls as an appetizer and then follow up with some red curry or spicy Thai basil. Watch out! When you give them the spice level, they listen. Don't feel you need to amp it up.
This is my go to takeout Thai spot.
I went to "Pinto UTD²" last Wednesday with a couple of friends, and I enjoyed my visit! It's in a good location near other shops, restaurants, and transit access, and it has a decent array of parking spaces. The diner's space is small, but the menu is quite the opposite (I'm so glad I checked it the night before, as I attribute that to why I placed my order within 4 minutes of approaching the tablets instead of > 10). While the items are a bit pricey, I ordered the crispy chicken atop garlic rice, and I'd say it was worth it! I found the dish spicy even at the "[30%] spice level," but the spice didn't detract from the fantastic tastes. I'd gladly come back and order again in the future!
Food was great people were nice. Inside the place was like getting in your car in texas summer at 110. It's a fishbowl with zero shade for sitting.
Best basil fried rice that i ever tried.

The food was a solid 10/10

On a hungry day, I opened Uber and this was the first in the list that popped up. I ordered Red Curry fried rice with Tofu and Spring rolls. The fried rice was excellent and the portion was good. There is lot of veggies as well along with Tofu. The spice was just right to my liking and packing was good. The spring rolls were so-so. They are over fried and crust was almost burnt. I would try other options next time.
It is one of the underrated vegan restaurants near Dallas. Food is better than most of the places.
amazing food! Used to get it all the time when I was in my undergrad at UTD & now years later, it’s still my go to spot in the area.
Recommend the golden chicken fried rice🔥
Got a pad thai with tofu yesterday. It tasted fine. The issue is today - this food was the only thing I ate yesterday and since this morning I have had severe food poisoning symptoms. I have had unstoppable diarrhea and have thrown up as well. Do not get the food here. It is not worth the pain and discomfort I am going through right now.

Drove by this place, stopped in after reading over the menu and was very impressed, the food was top notch and spice levels perfect and such depth of flavor and spice, we will be back no doubt about it!!
I ordered for the first time through a food delivery service. I got the Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken, Pork and Tofu #5 Thai hot. I LOVE heat, and it was delicious! But I will probably order #3 heat next time ;)
I usually get my pad tie with chicken, when I ate the first piece of chicken it smelled and taste very bad!! I talked to them to change my plate to pad tie with Shrimp instead, after 5 min, they gave me a new plate with shrimp and he said btw it is $2 extra!!
I was like sure!
New plates came. The noodles in my plates still had small pieces of that chicken and the shrimp was tassels and note cooked! I left the shrimp in there for them…
That was my first and last time in there. Not recommended
Fair prices, order ahead option, nice staff, & the food is absolutely delicious!
We ordered pineapple fried rice and yellow curry. This used to be so tasty 2-3 years ago. Everything has changed since then. Now it's very expensive and no taste at all. Never planning to visit this place again.
No veggies in fried rice, the rice was old and dehydrated and the pink drink was too sweet. Unfortunately big fail
The appetizers were good but the main dishes I got had a horrible grainy texture. It was like sand or ground up glass. It was awful. I’m really upset with how this turned out. The only people that rate this place well must be white lol.
Ordered with Uber eats for the first time. Vegan fried rice and tofu with sticky rice and mango.
Had to eat with my hands at the hotel they forgot cutlery!
Fried rice was tasty and no major complaints on the tofu.
Sticky rice with mango was dry and maybe colored pink, I’ve never seen that before. A generous amount of mango more than I generally see.
Overall B-
But I wish I might have looked at some of the reviews first..
I had the golden chicken fried rice, the Chicken was too fried I thought it was squid at first. Food doesn’t seem very fresh felt like I was eating leftovers. Service was good and pretty quick and the rice was fine. Overall wouldn’t come back.
I came to order for my lunch. Ordered a vegan Thai fried rice with tofu and vegie combo. Had to wait more than half an hour to receive a per cooked fried rice mixed with steamed veges. Totally disappointed! Not going anymore in my life. Waste of money and time. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Lack of food safety and the chefs don’t care at all. Pintos used to be so good 2-3 years ago, but along with Covid, they’ve become absolute scumbags. Found a torn bandaid in my leftovers from yesterday. Thought the fibrous texture yesterday was just bean sprouts but I got a wonderful surprise this afternoon for lunch. I hope a food inspector comes and forces them to actually care about what they do to their food. Who knows what else they might be doing to the food if they’re willing to disregard bandaids.
They have a unique setup, a dope vibe 🤙🏽, as well as outside patio. Great customer service too! 💚
☆ Curry Puff 5-stars
The sauce paired with this is very unique! It's a clear syrupy sauce with fresh bell peppers & cucumbers (I think). Sooo good!
☆ Crab Cream Cheese 5-stars
This is their version of "Crab Rangoon" & it's paired with a spicy mayo that's not spicy at all although the flavor is good! Soo soo good!!! 😋😋
☆ Fusion Lemonade 2-stars 😕
This was more like a pop than lemonade so didn't enjoy it much bc I don't drink pop anymore. It would've been better enjoyed as an actual lemonade. 🤷🏽♀️
☆ Vegan Herb Curry Fried Rice 3-stars
My Grandma smashed this!!! She loved it!! Although I wasn't too fond of the flavor the rice & veggies were cooked perfectly! 👌🏽
☆ Green Veggie Noodles 5-stars
Love love LOVE this!!!! 😋😋
The drunken noodles are amazing
meh... dont come with high expectations. Curry so thin it was almost nearly water. Spice levels on par and veggies were crisp so 2 stars for that. Peanut sauce veggie roll was ok, but they crammed 3 rolls in a 2 roll box - stuck together like.... well ...3rolls in a 2 roll box. One off visit for me, but the UTD kids must love it.
Tried to eat the chicken and cashew nut meal but the chicken tasted as if it was days old very rough to chew. The rice was dry and the veggies looked as if they had been sitting in the sauce all day as if it were a buffet meal.
I ordered from this place thinking it was a great meal but I feel as if I wasted my money and time.
I actually really like this place. The portions are small for the price but its pretty good Thai food. The drunken noodle tastes different from any others that I've had. It can get really spicy if you want it to.
I had the most tasty Thai dish ever, the best cooking!
Absolutely delicious! 10/10 recommend the Panang curry is my husbands favorite. He made it 3 star spicy, for me was a bit much but he loves spice. Very authentic & rich in flavor
Vegan duck is AMAAAAAZING!!!! Fried cheesecake is delightful! Can’t wait to try something new!
Dine-in, ordered chicken satay, Thai chicken basil and messy noodle and drinks. Completed our orders and paid just before 8:15pm. Afterwards, there are many new customers walk-in to place their Togo orders.
One after another got food and gone. I asked cashier at 8:45 where’s our foods? He politely said most of our food are ready except chicken satay!! I told him he can serve whatever done first we are hungry. He quickly brought out our ready foods in a bag and said to wait for satay and suggest that we may have to bring food as Togo!! He says he knows it's their fault BUT they CANNOT KEEP THE RESTAURANT OPEN AFTER 9pm!!!! I was in aww and speechless. We are never coming back again. We also regretted leaving a tip for no service and feel that we got kicked out because they, The Restaurant, cannot manage to give us the service.
Phone Ordered pad tai and green papaya salad. Got to store and it was $5 more than online prices. Owner/manager comes out and says prices went up and if I want those prices then will get smaller portion. Order was packed and ready to go so the guy repackages with smaller portion...no thanks. So he decided to throw away the excess instead of honoring website price and lose a customer over a few bucks. I get it things cost more but dont lie and say portions are bigger to justify price increase and then forget to change online menu. I left and went straight to pei wei!
Got Doordash, pad thai and red curry, level 2 spice. The spice level was fine for me, but I can understand why there seems to be widespread confusion about spice levels, since it was way spicier than I expected for level 2 medium. They should probably just relabel the spice levels if so many customers are confused to the point that they have to say "no refunds for spice level." The flavors tasted good in both dishes, but the meat in each dish (chicken and beef) was way overcooked, extremely tough and leathery, like it had been sitting in a hot pot all day. If the meat were less overcooked it would have been great.
Place was absolutely amazing. Was so much better than we anticipated. They also have great vegan food for your vegan friends
My girlfriend and I love spicy food and are willing to put our stomachs, tongues and throats on the line to find out whether a restaurant will produce food that's spicy enough for our liking. Last night we ordered the drunken noodles and the sesame noodles at spice level 10 and it was exactly what we hoped for and expected from the highest spice level at a Thai restaurant. We've tried quite a few Thai places in the greater Dallas area and haven't been satisfied by the highest spice levels at those places. We should've tried Pinto earlier. We're beyond satisfied with the available spice levels at this restaurant and will most likely make this place our new regular spot. The one downside is that the higher the spice level, the more the texture of the dish is compromised by the texture of chili pepper flakes. Definitely something we're willing to put up with, but it depends on the person. We absolutely recommend Pinto to anyone who loves challengingly spicy food.
Tasted Crispy Chicken with Garlic Rice. Tastes very good.
Excellent food, easily best tasting option in Northside. The only downside is that it requires time to be prepped--order ahead!
Fried Chicken in Fried Rice seemed old and dried up. The rest of the food was good, but the chicken didn’t seem fresh.
Food is delicious but end up getting sick after most of the times. So quality is not consistent. Would love if they put more effort into that because the food is great
Their credit card machine is not very good. It won't even take a new credit card swiped or using the chip.
Gyoza is the best I’ve ever had. A great potluck idea!
Really good Thai food, about the closest I've had in the States to what I remember food tasting like in Thailand. Not much of an eat in place, really more oriented towards to go.
I come here a lot lol. The food is amazing and the service is always top notch. Stay open for as long as possible guys, UTD needs you.
Great Thai food and awesome service!
Placed order online because Google said the restaurant was open, along with the restaurant's website, and we were not made aware that the business was in fact closed until after our order was placed! No refund was given this is extremely unprofessional, please change your google hours so others don't fall into this trap!
They definitely messed up our spice levels, my 3/5 spice level pad ki mow was magnitudes spicier than the 5/5 pad Thai my brother got. It was unbearably spicy, and I am no stranger to spice. Restaurant and chef were not friendly at all when I complained, and said they have a policy for picking spice level at your own risk. They refused to make me something else and instead took my dish and "de-spiced" it in the kitchen. overall not very happy with the attitude.
Also, stay away from the Thai teas, they are syrupy sweet, way too overdone with sweetness.
I went on recommendation of some friends. Really bad Thai food that I had. The service is much worse. I ordered Pad Thai and it was really bad. When we asked for taste issue he did not even bother but asked to pay for another order.
Wish they can improve the service and taste.
They have a lot of vegan options and the foods are delicious. I would definitely keep coming back.
They always have poor customer service.
No idea why my review got changed randomly 1 month ago. I haven't been here since my bad experience.
Super disappointed that this business is labeled, ‘Thai Vegan Paradise’ on Uber Eats. I ordered the, ‘vegan drunken noodles’ that contained eggs. If you’re vegan please be aware this restaurant doesn’t have an actual vegan menu, and modifications must be made.
I was a big fan of Pinto's food and would come here quite often since it was nearby. However, the last few times I have came here, the food experience was horrible. I have a very low spice tolerance, so I ordered my food at a spice level of 2, which is the spice level I always order when I come here, but once I got home and started to eat, I could not handle the spice. It tastes like the spice level was a few levels higher than what I asked for and it definitely did not taste like a spice level of 2. This was very, very disappointing because it is a place where the spice level was a choice, but when I got my food, I felt as if they ignored my choice in spice level. Regardless, I decided to give the benefit of the doubt to Pinto and went again. Nonetheless, there was the same occurrence in regards to spice level and my stomach was in pain after eating here. After two bad instances in a row regarding the same issue, I decided I could not take it anymore. I felt as if I had no choices in the food I ordered and payed for from here.
Wonderful food and amazing service!
The Red Curry was a great option for lunch! I enjoyed it a lot. While the portion seemed really small, it was quite filling once I actually ate it. The Tom Kha Gai Soup is decent as well and I really enjoyed the Thai Iced Tea. If you are looking to grab a quick lunch, I highly recommend this place!
great food and service, the staff is very friendly and assistive. As a connoisseur of the cuisine, the food brought me back to the time when my brother and i would treat ourselves to the delicous thai dishes that my grandmother would make for us. The authenticity in evey dish makes it evident that there is a certain presence of love and affection in every dish made. I have only tried this place a coulple time but will certainly be returning once the covid situation settles. For now im eating at oceaning too. which is owned by the same loving people.
My husband and I both enjoyed our food, the chicken pad Thai and the crispy chicken. The atmosphere is nice and so is the decor. The workers were friendly. I, however, don't think the portions match the price.
Their basil fried rice is some of the best I’ve had.
I've ordered thai delivery from pretty much all the locations in Richardson & Plano and this place is the best!! Their spice level is actually legit. I normally get 4-5 stars at most thai places..I get 3-4 here. Everything I've tried is good. Portions are generous and prices are cheap too!
Absolutely delicious and great customer service.
Cute and tasty!! Looks like a fast food place but surprisingly delicious Thai. Had a very authentic, mouthwatering khao soi today. Servers are very sweet, wish there was non plastic silverware and dishes for eating-in though. Would definitely come back for more!
Great food and awesome service! Caters to vegetarians and vegans as well - awesome to see.
12/07 Been back a few times. Always a great place to eat. Have tried a couple different items and enjoyed them all. Portions could be a bit bigger or prices could be better but I’m happy. Also, the staff has always been friendly and wonderful to work with. Cute restaurant and very clean.
Very tasty, good service.
Best drunken noodles I've had in a long time!
It is a very good place for people who like spicy food. They have 5 levels and 5 is really really hot and I being an Indian left it really hot, so choose the spice level based on your choice and I think 3 is the safe option. Go during lunchtime and they have free spring rolls.
Delicious food and friendly staff.
Make any dish vegetarian..no fish sauce and no eggs..best customer service..Pad thai here is to die for..
Amazing!! Excellent atmosphere. Outstanding service Walter!
Came for lunch for the first time and had massaman curry. I got 0 spicy, and I think that made my food a little bland. The potatoes were unevenly cooked; some of them were crunchy and some were soft. The curry itself was ok and I would want it to be a bit more rich. We had the meatballs, but it was not very meaty and was more like fishballs; good but unexpected.
I think the food is overpriced for the quantity and service. At the price of $10 for a small portion, I would rather not have to eat and drink using disposable bowls, utensils and styrofoam cups.
The food was good I tried the lo mein pad thai level 2 and golden fried rice lvl 3. Fried rice was too spicy for me but good flavor. The pad thai was good... advice to mix it before eating as all the god flavor was at bottom. I'd come here again.
Pretty good thai. Standard taste. They are usually crowded during lunch because they are only a street across from UTD.
Served hot and the spice was awesome. Portions were also very filling; great for the price.
I loved it, the food is very delicious. Best thai food.
But the place is very small.
Really nice place. Great food great service.
Got new dynamite noodles, best menu addition possible
Great place on campus, I love their pineapple fried rice
Only went because chopped was closed for a whole week.
So glad to finally have a Thai place on campus!! We had the pad thai with tofu and a Thai iced tea, as well as the "Messy Noodle" which we had never heard of before. I was a big fan of both. The pad thai was very flavorful and a bit saucier than I'm used to. The messy noodles were very good - spicy, peppery, and very savory from the mushrooms.
One standout was the tofu, which was amazing in both dishes. It was firm but spongy and really soaked up the flavor.
One complaint is the use of single-serve containers. I hope that they switch to reusable or at least biodegradable serving materials. While the plastic containers are decent quality, it is still a shame to create unnecessary waste. Additionally they use Styrofoam cups. I took off a star for these reasons
All in all, a welcome and friendly addition to UTD and Northside.
Food was great and priced accordingly, staff was incredibly friendly.
Recently visited this place. I ordered a veggie soup, papaya salad and Tom yum noodle bowl. Papaya salad was good but the veggie soup (spice level 4) was way too spicy and it was just water, chilli oil and few onions and carrots! Tom yum noodle soup was not up to the mark. It was way too spicy again and everything other than spice appeared to be missing in that! Located close to UTD, so it might work for students who live closeby.
Loved their Orange chicken. You can decide on spice level from 1-5 and this makes lot of sense. All in all good experience.
First time here today but I know I will be coming back to try more! Great to have near UTD where it's close to other poppin restaurants in the area! Love the wide variety of menu options here and all the mixing and matching going on. It's so great that UTD (or at least places near it) are expanding food options beyond american stuff!
Supports local charities
Great food!
Excellent food
Pad thai was a lik too sweet.
Very good spice levels for people who LOVE spicy food! (Be warned for those who aren't very good with spicy food!) Food are very sweet and flavorful, would recommend as a decent, rather americanized, Thai restaurant with good amount of choices on the menu for how small the place is. Mostly designed to cater to take out customers.
Food is pretty pricy for it's portion because it's next to the UTD campus. But if Thai is what you're looking for then Pinto is here for you!
The Pad Keep Mao (drunken noodles) is superb!
This place literally made me sick to my stomach I could not hold down the food and got a mild fever the next day I believe it was food poisoning even though the food tasted fine !
The first few times I came here, I actually really liked it. I like flavor and they were super flavorful.
I went here today though and I ordered the same thing I always do. Same spice level and everything but it was TWICE as spicy and the food was not enjoyable anymore. I very kindly explained to the cashier that it was way spicier than the previous times and they handed me some sweet and sour sauce and did not make me a new plate. This is unheard of to me especially at a place where you pick spice level.
Extremely inconsistent and not customer oriented, but comparably priced to any other Thai restaurant. I would recommend going to any of the other sit down Thai restaurants where you pay similar prices for better service (and better ambiance and a server)!
Great food .
This place is quite good if you are looking for Thai food
I ordered the Pinto box, very cool and very authentic thai 😍😍😍😍 also got curry puff, thai teas, coconut soup yummy!!!! I really like food!!! Hahahahaha
Excellent Thai Restaurant. Im an addict of thai food and this place is definitely competitive in the market. Excellent options for vegetarians, vegans (no fish sauce as well) and anybody wanting healthy and delicious thai food. Their juices are 100% natural, highly recommend the pineapple juice. My best preference for food is the pad thai and lo main. Easy and fast system of online ordering.
Great food, friendly atmosphere, and eco-friendly take out boxes. Food is on the spicy side, so order down rather than up.
This place is not only delicious but it just has such a great atmosphere. These guys really put time into the decorations and did I mention the food is delicious? There are so many options, pretty much any authentic Thai food you can think of—drinks, desserts, soups, everything. And the customer service is just amazing, so so nice. I told one of the owners my mom was going out of town tomorrow and I was ordering the dish to go for her and he was so considerate and wrapped everything up for her (and we got one of those super neat Pintos, I’ve never seen any other Thai place offer this before!). I just love this place and I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
Great food with high quality. A lot of choices, too. My only worry is the place will get too crowded after the semester start lol.
I have been to Pinto Urban Thai Diner a few times so far. It’s a new restaurant, but they really know what they are doing. I love the Thai traditional pinto set, you don’t normally find restaurant that have them. We ordered the basil chicken wraps, vegetable dumpling, shumai, thai style chicken basil and messy noodles. We loved everything, you can really tell everything is made fresh as the food is full of flavor. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful, it’s not a full service restaurant as their concept is the Thai Togo Pinto service, but they go the extra mile with the service. Their server Pim is such a gem. See you again soon.
Awesome gem! Great food and atmosphere was very warming, we’ll be back for sure! The Pinto style to-go box was something we’ve never seen or even heard of for that matter.
You won’t be disappointed =)
First time here. We ate the level 2 spice Pad Kee Mao and the Chicken Satay. The spice level is perfectly medium, not too spicy. Both dishes were delicious. Will definitely come back to try more Thai cuisine.
I came during their soft opening and got basil fried rice, level 3 spice. Very flavorful and the level of spice was great! The spice wasn't too watered down, like some places. My only gripe was that they served my food in a single-use takeout container, on top of a metal platter, even though I dined in.
Happy to have a great, tasty Thai place on campus, but I hope they'll stop using single-use containers for dine-in orders in the future, like after their grand opening.
