Established in 2002 Jenni opened the first Jenni's Noodle House in 2002 on the east side of downtown Houston, in the old Chinatown area. The dishes available at Jenni's are the favorites her late mother
Sooo...the food was pretty good. My party and I enjoyed the food but the service left more to be desired. The staff lacked customer service skills especially with knowing how important it is to acknowledge their customers. Their attitude makes me want to never visit this establishment again. The food wasn’t THAT good, lol. Customer service is EVERYTHING in a business!!!
UPDATE: 2 years later - went from a 2 ⭐️ to a 5 🌟
I was craving delicious Udon Noodles and my order did not disappoint. I placed a to go order of curry shrimp noodles and it was so yummy. However, the best part of my visit was the top notch customer service from Rogelio. He made my visit the positive experience it was because his acceptance of me as a black Latina woman (we spoke in Spanish). I usually get a negative experience when I speak to workers in establishments in Spanish because they can’t get past the color of my skin. However, Rogelio went with the flow and we both discovered that we are neighbors; he’s from Guatemala and I’m from Honduras. This was my third visit but the sweetest and best thus far because of him. Gracias Rogelio!
We went by before the lunch rush and were warmly greeted by the waiter. The Disco Dumplings and Chili Oil Edamame were both very good and were served very quickly. The Honey Chicken Bowl was good, but was made significantly better with a drizzle of the soy sauce from the Disco Dumplings dish. The Chili Oil Beef Ramen was lackluster, and was definitely closer to a pho than a ramen. The beef was tender but the broth was not overly flavorful and there wasnt much chili oil in the soup. It was a weird dish that seemed like it had a lot of potential to be a great ramen, but it needs work and thicker broth to be appropriately called a ramen
Always great food and service! Have been bringing my grand daughter there for their spring rolls since they first opened. Highly recommend it!
UPDATE: Visited Sunday morning for their new hours offering a coffee bar. Since our diet is Vegan these days at 9am in the morning Scott the co-owner prepared my husband their Rockin Vegies dish. So delicious! Need to check it out!
I ordered the Ginger Ramen through Door Dash. The picture online showed chunks of grilled chicken breast. When it was received, it had shredded chicken. On first thought, I believed it to be an error so I reached out to the store directly. The man that answered the phone said that the photo online is from 5-6 years ago and they no longer prepare it with grilled chicken. My concerns were brushed off as if I just have to deal with it. I let him know that this was my first time ordering from them and I should be able to trust the online photo as a guide to purchase. I was completely disregarded and he ended the call with have a great day and we will see you next time. Are you serious? I can’t even trust your photos or dish descriptions. This was a horrible experience.
Most Asian food places have horrible customer service, this is a fresh surprise of kindness. God bless this establishment and it’s people
Very friendly, attentive service. Food was good, drinks were tasty. Cute little lounge area, with books and couches. Dog friendly patio
Very quiet here usually, and great service! The food is also very good, i rec the udon...good vietnamese coffee, and prices are reasonable. No frills 🔥🔥🔥
I had the chili oil beef ramen, it was generally good but was lacking a little bit of a spicy kick and I think the ramen noodles could be improved
Great food, great atmosphere, small portions, big prices.
Very Authentic!
I wish we could be there every day!!!!
The vermicelli bowl was not flavorful at all. Maybe try something else
I've can't get enough of the infernal chicken curry, that broth is just amazing!!
Super friendly service!
as always the food was not the issue. been coming to jenni’s since they were in downtown. never have we been served so nonchalantly by someone. we were given our food and not ONCE did he come back to check up on us if we wanted anything else, I had to get up and ask for a refill and were given weird looks by going up there. Hope management sees this to address it and keep life long customers like us!
What a wonderful place! Tomas is exceptional! Great energy, so friendly, and did I mention how amazing the food is! Can’t wait to come back!
The food was good, not a bad spot for a casual dinner out. There weren't many people here, and it seems they might do a lot of take out service. Overall, it was a good experience.
Really awesome food and friendly staff.
This place is simply fantastic. Wonderful flavor, great staff, and great prices!! It breaks my heart that many locations have been closed because their food is so good! One suggestion I have is that they need to be more on-the-go friendly, meaning, I cannot order their food to be eaten at work or any other place that doesn’t have bowls, microwave, etc. The Togo orders are sent in not the most user friendly containers. If they improved that I would be ordering several times a week! Just a suggestion. Love the restaurant and we will continue to support both locations!
The food was ice cold, and bobba was not good. Consulted a server about it and was told, "I'll ask," and he never came back to resolve my issue. The service was extremely lackluster, and prices are high compared to the quality of food you'll receive.
This is my favorite Jenni’s location. Sweet folks working in there and the Buddha Soba noodles are the best! I love getting them with tofu or chicken. The limeade is delish too.
El dueño es un encanto de hombre
staff works hard to make personal connections with customers, drinks and food are consistently delicious, and cooks are very accommodating to any requests in orders!
The spicy shrimp soup was good. The tea was too strong, tasting even with lemon.Stick with water.
Been eating at Jenni's for years! Hands down the best. Always feel welcomed and the food is great. Try the dumplings!
This hole in the wall is a hidden Gem!! Been coming here for years and it never changes which is why we love it.

The worst noodles place I came too , to begin with take out plate/bowl was very flimsy I got burned with the soup and the lady did not give me utensil to eat my soup had to go back and get it and no type a companion veggies with pho plate just meat alittle noodles more broth than anything esle my meat was swimming. Paid close to $30 for some broth than anything esle don't recommend this place.
Un servicio excelente me encanta este lugar.

First time visiting, but unfortunately the food was lacking. I ordered the Infernal Chicken Curry. It really should be called the Rice and Potato Curry. I had 3 tiny pieces of chicken. I had to look at old review pictures to make sure I wasn’t being too picky. I know restaurant overhead is high, but if I’m paying $15.00 for bowl of chicken curry it better have a good portion of chicken. Plus I asked for highest spice, had to request chili oil to make it spicy.
Food was very bland, no flavor. Chicken was apparently just boiled, no salt. Bad experience. I don't know if I'll give them a second chance
This place is amazing, we've been coming to this place usually once a week! Prices have gone up over the years ($70 a visit) but the food is still amazing!
Yesterday was the first time ive ever been disappointed with this place. Customer service was terrible, and Pork in fried rice was under cooked. We all have food poisoning including my 1 year old. I Love the food here, but we are taking a break. 11/4/23
EDIT: YOU SHOULD UPDATE YOUR HOURS ON GOOGLE MAPS. IT SAYS UR OPEN EVERYDAY BUT I ARRIVE ON MONDAY AND UR CLOSED. HOW ANNOYING .
Love the food
Years ago my husband & I would go here and although the food was expensive it was good. Not the case anymore!
Now it’s just extremely expensive without the taste. My curry had barely any sauce in it, just chunks of potato, chicken & rice….& my husbands Udon noodles were basically a bowl of water instead of peanut sauce.
We don’t normally leave negative reviews but when approached & asked by the manager how we liked our meal we requested some sauce & were taken aback when they said we could pay more if we wanted curry sauce. After already paying $15+ for our meals would expect it to have a decent amount of sauce so it doesn’t taste bland. Especially when a manager asks you how everything is & you make a reasonable request.
Feels like they cut back a lot on ingredients in the last few years. Won’t be back ever again!
Don't sleep on the coffee options here! This is my go-to Saturday morning coffee house!
They have a variety of espresso drink options, as well as a good selection of flavors (including my beloved lavender).
Plus the classic Vietnamese ice coffee.
And there are never any lines for coffee in the early a.m.
We’ve been fans of Jenni’s for years! From the post oak to the heights location. It deserves a 5 star rating! You cannot miss trying their beef pho, angry udon or their miso ramen! Ask for the tres leches with an espresso shot mixed. It’s amazing!!
The dumplings and egg rolls where delicious and it has the best limeade of all time
Amazing cozy Noodle House! Food is great and service is above and beyond! Even let us modify a meal slightly to my wife's taste, never had service like this before. Would 1000% reccomend if your in the mood for viatnamise food and the tea and Boba is on the spot!
Stopped in for lunch. The staff was super helpful and had several recomendations. Food was awesome. The sparkling energy drinks made in house were worth the stop alone. We will be back.
Food was good . Service was first class, dont know the gentleman's name but was tall and had glasses. He deserves a raise!
surprised my 1 star review was removed. i ordered pho here once and on the description it did mot state cilantro included while other pho dishes did. so one would assume if it doesn’t state it on the ingredients it’s not included. i asked them to replace the order and they refused and had me order a new one and pay for both.
Super fast service!!! Called in pick up orders twice now and both were ready in less than 10 minutes.
8/10 spicy shrimp soup. It was delicious and super hot (temp) but for the price I wish there were a couple more shrimp.
10/10 shrimp spring rolls, good size and the sauce is good.
9/10 stir me crazy, just wanted a tiny bit more salt or flavor I think.
12/10 lychee tea with boba, not too sweet and very fresh!
12/10 cute space and plenty of seating
Good spot. Always very pleasant people working there.
Decent food but ungodly expensive.
Atmosphere, service, hospitality are bar none here. You're wanted to feel at home and all of the staff is helpful and welcoming.
I found the food to be disappointing. The rice just lacked flavor. It was slightly burnt to the taste, and couldn't pick up any of the staple flavors of fried rice in it. The fried dumplings were good, and the dumpling sauce dumped in to the rice was about the only thing that kept me eating.
Overall, probably won't be back. Maybe other items are better. Price was a turn off, too. Over $30 for an app and fried rice should command the best of the best. (Includes tip)
Nice fresh healthy choices with very friendly staff and nice patio as well. Must try if around and reasonable prices.Scott was very helpful and observant as well.
Food not that good broccoli undercooked chicken so dry. Noodles only good think on plate
Always great food and service! Have been bringing my grand daughter there for their spring rolls since they first opened. Highly recommend it!

The manager was really friendly and the food and service here is excellent!
Muy buen lugar y la comida excelente
My 1st time at this location. Loved it. Food great as always. Books to read while eating was a nice touch.
What an awesome place to enjoy your noodle Pho..
And not to mention the awesome service, As the server taking our order multitasking training a new employee doing a fantastic job, No pressure for the trainee or for us, I am definitely coming back again everything was awesome.. thanks again to the staff
Always good food and great service. We have been coming here for years, Roger is always very friendly and attentive.
Had a great meal here with fantastic flavors. The chicken was overcooked but that can be overlooked.
The chicken curry is to die for, so delicious! Always great customer service as well. One of my favorite restaurants in Houston!
Pretty good soups and noodles for a rainy day
They have noodles. The noodles are good. ;-)
Service was great but their food wasn't and prices are a bit on the higher side compared to many other similar vietnamese restaurants in the area.
It was my first time at this nice, quaint noodle house and the service and the food were good, I recommend it.
Amazing food and service. Go here!
The staff! The food the hot tea along with the appetizers are worth the stop!
Food is good, but it’s warm in there. Warm place + hot soup doesn’t go so well.
Whole staff was nice. Place was clean and good was hot and delicious like me .
A good place to go when it's cold in Houston for pho.
i had a chicken curry dish.. yummy! the shop isnt fancy, but the food was good.
The meat smelt bad and the noodles were dry
Delicious, fresh, fast and friendly. I recommend the “U-don Know Me” a steaming bowl of fresh udon noodles with chicken tossed in a peanut sauce - I get mine without vegetables but it’s normally prepared with sprouts and green onion. The dumplings and egg rolls are on point, too.
Very small Vermicelli salad with salt and pepper shrimp, overcharged $6, very small spring rolls. Where's the cucumbers, sprouts, lettuce, Vermicelli!, cilantro, peanuts, cake!? Used to be much larger portions! Out of cake! Very disappointed long time customer! Menu on here says salad is $13, but charged $17, says limeade is $2.50 but charged $4.50! Ordered over phone to go and picked up. Saw over charge on receipt when got home and shocked at such small portions!
I wish I had read the reviews before buying. The miso ramen soup had NO flavor. They must have plopped the tinned mushroom and snow peas after the soup had been made, as they offered no addition to the flavor. The other dish was the chicken and peanut sauce. Lovely flavor. Very small portion for take away. Those eating in the restaurant had good portions. Chicken was hard, dry and flavorless. I would guess there is no chef doing the cooking. It would have been SO easy to freshly cook chicken properly before sending out. And total for both meals came to over $30 at lunchtime. Ridiculous. Save your money. As another reviewer says there are so many excellent restaurants in this town that one shouldn't have to put up with this dreck. I see this company isn't above buying reviews. The top reviewer on Yelp lives in California and only has reviews for Seattle and Cali.
Not sure how this place has 4 stars. The noodles taste like cardboard. The chicken curry is loaded with just potatoes and the curry is like water. Waste of 40 bucks and ruined dinner. Food is going to be tossed in the trash.
Bland food at high prices. Neither the beef nor the noodles were particularly good. The best thing about the meal was the chili oil on the side, which I imagine they don't make themselves.
Food was tasty and service was very fast!
I was excited to see an Asian restaurant with a menu that has gluten free labeling. Unfortunately, the "gluten free" option I chose (Super Fried Rice) turned out to be verrrry filled with gluten and I had a horrible allergic reaction. I sent Jenni's an e-mail to let them know, in hopes that nobody else would get sick, but they haven't replied.
Best service and great food. Little pricey.
The wonton soup with egg noodles that I had. Was very delicious, the staff was very polite and courteous. And I will definitely be going back very good food. The Vietnamese egg rolls was on time.
The wonton soup was good but too spicy at level 2.
great customer service, delicious food!
Jenni's Noodle House is overpriced and the food is bland. I ordered spring rolls and two bowls of ramen that totaled $40. The food tasted stale and it was not very well seasoned.
I always love Jenni's! My favorite thing on the menu is their Mighty Won Ton.
Great atmosphere, family friendly & great service. The food was great, vegan & Vegitarian friendly.
Wow , the quality has gone down in this once great food institution. We ordered the chili oil beef pho. This was once a very delicious pho. I used to love all the pho they offered. But this has really turn out to be a very bland and no flavor pho. This is not the first time I get the flavorless tast from this place..
And at $14.00 dollar a serving it really is not worth the drive anymore especially with other great pho places in the Heights.
The food and the service were great!
Always delicious!
Excellent service, the food tasted delicious. Pho, won ton noodle soup was delicious and a chicken noodle dish
Food and service was excellent.
One of my most fav. Teddy is my fav. Great service.
A neighborhood institution. This place rocks!
We love Jenni’s! We usually order online for curbside or window pick-up as our dogs like to go for car rides. Our orders are always timely ready and are consistent, tasty, and portions provide for more than one meal. Lots of options on the menu. Their team is super friendly and polite. Always a great experience!
The salt and pepper tofu vermicelli bowl with peanut sauce is the best. The staff here is so friendly. Highly recommend!
Things I loved most about this place are the eggrolls and curry. It's never crowded so service is fast and the dining experience is great. Since going to eat here the first time I've been back 3 other times all within the same month.
Very bad experience tonight. I went to Jennis when they first opened up on I-45. Patronized and followed them for years, it was great when they opened up in the heights very close to us. Ordered Pho and egg rolls tonight, the Pho was ok but the egg rolls and condiments were in wax bags; the cucumbers were mushy and there were enough of them for 1 egg roll, not for the order of 5. No cilantro, I was told they don't do that anymore. Called in to tell them what happened and it was all defense, not how can we make it right. If i could give less than one star I would. They couldn't pay me to come back now. Maybe you'll have a better experience.
Love this place. It’s been in Houston for a long time, but I don’t why I haven’t been here until recently. I had takeout just the other day and the gentleman who took my order was just so pleasant and polite. The food was great too. No complaints.
Noiceee
Sooo...the food was pretty good. My party and I enjoyed the food but the service left more to be desired. I’m so confused. Reviews either talk about the bland food, or they love it.
I don’t have a problem with a little less flavor. We could certainly stand to use a little less salt in our takeout. So I gave the U DON KNOW ME chicken noodles a try today.
Yeah, it’s 100% certified bland. Not even the “add more salt” bland. It’s lacking in every department.
From the presentation you can tell that it has what looks like the right components - decent color, plenty of onions, the works. Except that someone decided to hit the base sauce with a gallon or two of water. Maybe they’re trying to stretch their ingredients out?
Only reason this isn’t one star is because pickup was super fast and the front counter guy was really friendly. (Keep it up bro!)
Great service, great food.
For me one of the best restaurants in Houston. And good for your vegetarian friends too.
Pleasant neighborhood spot with good food and service.
Food, staff & value are all top notch!
Great place. I had the spicy shrimp noodles and shared steamed wonton. First time there but will go back for more.
The food was uninspired. It arrived hot, but it was bland. The staff is friendly and attentive, but that was the only positive.
I really liked this place! A very non-pretentious down to earth eatery with great staff! The food was very tasty, the place was clean(the bathrooms were just spotless!) and there is a nice outside seating area! Inside is also sacious enough. The server was very nice and helpful and gave us very good ideas about what food to choose. The menu had an amazing variety and I will definitely go back!
We went here on a Friday night just before their closing time and the people here were very courteous and patient. We were asked multiple times if we needed extra sauce or anything. The food is great and almost their entire menu is adaptable to vegetarians, which was a huge deal for us. We had an actual menu to choose from and not just 2 items on the list! We had the vermicelli noodle salad with lemongrass tofu and salt and peppery tofu with rice - both were served super quick and were delicious. We will be making many many trips down to this adorable spot!
Great lunchtime spot! We generally get the Salt and Pepper Tofu, which is yummy! Staff is always friendly and happy! Being Vegan, it’s nice to have this place as an option!
Amazing food it was a great experience. The staff was very kind
Fried pork dumplings great. Buckwheat noodles also a favorite
Food needed more flavor, but the staff was awsome. The staff was the only reason I gave it 4.
Very covid aware. Delicious food! The chicken curry was AMAZING & the fried rice is great! Lots of flavor. Be sure to get the 5 pork dumplings crispy. Great service and good price! Love it. 15/10 would recommend
It was great love the pho. Delish😋
Good customer services
Didn't expect salad in a bag with sauce, eggroll half the side of a reg. one,not all that, tasty. 2 for $4.00 I was not pleased. Shrimp fried rice ok gulf shrimp, great size, tasted ok. But I think I want be going back. Will keep trying to find right one for my taste buds.
I love this place the dream roles are delicious 😋
[Note: my kid wrote this review, but I agree - and I've explained the difference between "roles" and "rolls" ;)]
Good food. Good service
The Miso Ramen tasted like Forrest Whitaker's bath water. Was so below standard that I immediately got up and left after the first spoon hit my mouth. Honestly thought I was being punked on a reality show and was waiting for cameras to jump out.
Awesome food , great service.
Great place for noodles. Window to the sidewalk for pickups so you do not have to go inside.
The best egg rolls period. Awesome food and service
First time customers.
Very bland overpriced no flavor n old lettuce ..gave them the benefit of the doubt for a 2nd time food with no flavor no juice and old lettuce vietnamese eggrolls w 2 shrimps n old lettuce and the plate with meat n vegetables n noodles no taste lotts of noodles n not enough of nothi g else never again
This place became my neighborhood comfort food when I moved to Houston from Colorado. Whenever I couldn’t cook for myself, and especially when I arrived in town late from work travel, I’d stop on the way home and get the infernal chicken curry on udon noodles. I still crave it when I’m missing home. I wish I had an equivalent spot in Denver, and no trip to Houston is without a stop here. The tofu spring rolls is the other dish I’ve failed to replicate. I miss this place!!
Was so exited to try this place out only to be left dissapointed. Food is incredibly bland and portions are minimal. I would of rather ate a 1$ mcchicken. Feel ripped off. Will not be here again. On my way to get that mcchicken...
Always good food and great service. ♥️
It's always good
Always freakin awesome
Jenni's is nothing to sneeze at.
Very clean and tasty pho shop. I eat here at least 4 times a month great selection of good food. My favorite has to be The combo Pho. Has meat balls and brisket. Very good. Highly recommend this place for lunch and Dinner
Tasty. Good service. What more could you want?
It was my first time here. And I absolutely loved the flavor!! The only reason why I'm giving 4 stars is the portion size was on the small side for the amount of money..
Great food and wonderful service! Went for lunch and was in and out!
I sincerely do not know how this restaurant has 4+ stars. I ordered delivery and was super excited, but the food tasted like nothing. Not bad, NOTHING. Noodles tasted like boiled noodles and olive oil. Chicken was overcooked and dry. The pork was dry. The rice tasted absent of any direction. There wasn’t even any SALT to be found. The only reason I’m giving them 1 star instead of none is the spice level was right on 1 of the 3 meals (even though we ordered the sane spice level for all three meals). Go here if you’re fighting a cold and can’t keep food down - this won’t upset your stomach and it’ll drain your nose. I spent $90, but i could have also eaten a slice of bread for $1 and had more flavor. A sincere waste of money.
The only thing I enjoyed was the limeade and the chicken curry (but it's too pricey for what you get in my opinion) The service was just ok. I wont be back
nice food
