Laid-back chain serving familiar Thai dishes from mild to spicy, with gluten-free & vegan options.
I love Thai Cottage! The food is always fresh, service is good (a bit slow at lunch but it is a small location with a small staff) and everyone is always so friendly. My faves are the Spicy Basil Fried Rice (I always choose shrimp) and the Green Curry - super delicious. I have properties around the corner so this is convenient location to have a fresh meal in a very charming atmosphere. We visit at least twice per month, more often if we are really craving Thai. If you have not tried them yet, check them out today!
It's a nice looking restaurant, good decorations, and a large mural of Thai people cooking food on one wall. Our server, Miguel, was very attentive. The good, however, left a lot to be desired. We ordered two soups - Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups - and a side of shrimp soft rolls. We had eaten a bowl of Tom Yum soup in a pho place last week - it was a great bowl of streaming hot spicy soup which was enough for two meals actually. We were expecting something similar here so imagine our surprise when the bowls we received were like small soup cups, not a large bowl like in the Vietnamese place. The taste was also not the best - it was too much lemon and not enough heat. There were also no veggies supplied with the bowls. In the end we were left dissatisfied with what we received.
Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience. I ordered soup which was overly sour and didn’t meet the usual quality I’ve come to expect. When I brought this to the waiter’s attention, he ignored my concerns and curtly informed me that they couldn’t change the dish, without offering any alternative or showing understanding.
At the register, there were three staff members, one lady and two gentlemen and when I shared my feedback about improving customer service, they really responded badly. one of them responded very rudely. Their dismissive and unprofessional attitude left a lasting negative impression.
Thai Cottage has always been a favorite of mine, but this experience was deeply disappointing. I hope management takes steps to train their staff on better handling customer feedback and providing a more respectful dining experience.
Food was so delicious. The cheese rolls were amazing, probably my favorite item on the menu. The egg drop soup was good, not my favorite but decent. I had the garlic and pepper lover dish with shrimp and it was delicious but spicy and I only asked for mild spicy. The sa-te chicken was very tasty. Probably won’t return since it’s out of the way and a little pricey for lunch, but everything was tasty and the service was friendly.
This place was a buzz today! That was my first inkling lunch was going to be good.
First the beverages... My sweet tea was AMAZING! It had a underlying taste I couldn't identify, but I loved it!
We had the steamed dumplings to start. Very good and fresh; not chewy like some I have had in the past.
Our egg drop soup and spring roll arrived next. Wasn't crazy about the egg drop. They put bits of chicken in theirs and it wasn't very hot. I can do without the chicken. I felt it gave a strange texture. I was hoping for more of the typical thick egg texture. The spring roll was a little too well done and they only give a tiny amount of sauce drizzled over it. I had to request more sauce, during a busy lunch rush, which caused me to wait longer than I wanted to eat my roll.
For our entrees, we shared the Chili Basil and the Red Curry plates. Very good and filling. Both had a red pepper to indicate spicy, but the Chili Basil wasn't very spicy; the Red Curry was on point.
All in all, the lunch was good. It was very busy, so the service was a little slow and could have used a tad more friendliness. My tea was not filled until requested and we had to wait awhile for our check to come after requested. I will go back. They have a full menu of items I'd like to try. The Pad Thai looked good.
$35.00 (without tip) for 2 to dine.
It had been years since we were last in the area to eat at Thai Cottage, and our experience was great! The food was tasty and of good quality, and brought to us quickly even during a busy lunch time. I felt that the pricing was fair for the meal we got.
The chicken pad Thai and coffee are always excellent. I eat here whenever business brings me to Houston
Miguel was such a great server! very kind and adaptable

Food is amazing! We had the chicken pad Thai and chili basil chicken both were great!
Service was really good as well!

Si te gusta la comida Thai tienes que conocer este sitio .Es muy cálido y acogedor ..Me encantan sus fideos y el té 😊
Amazing service, Miguel our server was attentive and very efficient. The food was really good . We enjoyed our lunch time.
The food is always delicious. Service is fantastic!!! Love this place!!!
It had been years since we were last in the area to eat at Thai Cottage, and our experience was great! The food was tasty and of good quality, and brought to us quickly even during a busy lunch time. I felt that the pricing was fair for the meal we got.
Their curries all use nonvegetarian fish sauce. And their pad thai uses tamarind which tastes like fish. Not my place.
Staff was kind and accommodating. However, my noodles were over cooked and soggy, Thai basil rice was scorched. Unfortunately, we ordered take out so there was no way to get a replacement.
I called this location to ask if I could change my order to sugarland location she put me on hold and then hung up on me. Very rude and unprofessional
Very nice wait staff. Wonderful tasty food. We got satay, golden shrimp, fried rice, tom yum soup. Generous portions and great vegetarian selection. Love it and will return.
Enjoyed it.
Made us get up and order at the desk when we realized we didn't have enough time to eat in.
Food was not great, missing flavor (I like the packaging tho). The staff did not answer questions on whether it was vegetarian.
Wings and eggrolls were great, both cooked perfectly. Clean establishment.
This used to be my go-to Thai for many years, but it is definitely not the same anymore. Food comes out cold or the chicken is rubbery and flavorless. If you ask for the Thai fish sauce they give you a tablespoon worth for 2 guests. Time to move on from them....
Had an awful experience here for lunch. I have been to most Thai cottages in Houston and always had a great experience. This location definitely lags the others
I came here for lunch as it is by my work. The place gets reallllly busy for lunch and they don’t know how to keep up. They clearly need to hire more or better competent staff. I ordered a Dr Pepper which I never received but they attempted to charge me for. My rice was supposed to be spicy but it was mild/medium. I order the same dish at the sugar land location and they definitely make it spicy. The rice also had way too much basil on it and hardly any chicken pieces. The worst part of the experience was that nobody came to check on me once I got my food. It’s almost like I was invisible. Do not go here if you are by yourself they only cater to large groups.
I’ve been coming here for years. I love everything they have. I always get the salad because they have the best peanut dressing. Seriously I crave it that’s how good it is. The Penang or red curry in my favorite. I usually have leftover so I get an extra rice on the side and I make two meals of it. The pad Thai is good too. Spring rolls and crispy roll is good. Honestly mostly everything lol the only time I didn’t like anything was the mango sticky rice and that was because the portion was so small and I thought the rice seemed a little dry that day.
Delicious food and friendly service. Thank you!
Nice food and place. Kids also loved the taste of their kids meal.
Prompt courteous service, wonderful staff, great food!
Lovely authentic Thai food. Will definitely be back for the beautiful tastes and delightful service!
Food is amazingly good! Service and atmosphere was great and easy access
Not great food
The service is bad and food is not as per what is being asked for.
Ordered pad Thai, it was a bit dry .. I’ve had better.
Atmosphere and service was very nice.
I ordered Thai ice tea, i liked it
Red Curry with Beef, Garlic and pepper lover with chicken both were delicious and the crispy vegetable rolls are awesome!
I ordered the Chef combo or close to it so you can choose heat from 1-5 me thinking it's not going 🔥 it was so fired my nose start running lips burning but so good but next time I will try 4 lol
HARDLY ANY VEGETERIAN OPTION AS COMPARED TO OTHER THAI PLACES .. NOT EVEN ONE SOUP ON VEGGIE .. SERVICE WAS SLOW .. FOOD WAS JUST ABT OK
Food was very delicious!
It's alright, the "spicy" really isn't very spicy so make sure to get extra chili sauce if you're ordering to-go.
They didn’t include the drink I paid for nor any utensils in the take out bag. Which I guess happens but then I found a huge black hair in the food.
Solid Thai food. Delicious. Spicy.
Greeted & seated promptly. Server was very pleasant and efficient. Atmosphere is pretty plain; the chairs flex really easily...caught me off-guard.
I had the Pad See Ew. It was fantastic! Very flavorful and lots of surprise pops of flavor and spice. Really really good.
Super lunch and dinner and never is badly for your stomach 🙏😊🤗🙌🌹👏
Good lunch menu, cheap and great taste!
great customer service
Took my mom in right before the lunch crowd and ordered. One of the orders was incorrect and only brought portion of the order. Restaurant got crowded and seemed they forgot about us. My mother's order didn't come until I was almost finished with my lunch. Unfortunately, food was not as good as I remembered.
Wanted to say that I sat there for 10 minutes for someone to take my order. And the neighbor came through, they sat other people Think the place is racist
This place is THE BOMB DOT COM!!!! I’ve been a customer for well over a decade and it’s my favorite Thai place by far. Quick service and their curries keep me coming back every time. The only difficulty I experience when I go is choosing red, yellow or green curry???
I adore this place, I’ve been coming here since I was single digits in age. I go for every birthday and big event! Everyone is always very nice, the food is always perfect! Literally cannot think of a single time we got something that wasn’t perfectly made. Love the Thai tea here, it’s so good that when I try to order it somewhere else, I don’t like it. Also do yourself a favor and order the sticky rice with ice cream or mango, soooo good!
Totally recommend all the dishes, I made a point to come here when I’m back from college! I literally dream of this place and have a hard time finding anything that’s even remotely as yummy as this restaurant!
I enjoyed this place much more than I even expected. I've been to Thailand and this seems to stay pretty authentic while slightly catering to the American pallet. My basil eggplant tofu was really good. Medium spice level was well done and on point. My grandmom had cashew chicken and asked for it over noodles instead of rice. It also had great flavor, and I don't usually like that dish much. Total for dinner with one tea and tip was $42, which I think is fair for the quality and ambience, which was clean but cozy. Server was also very attentive. I would go back.
Ordered take-away for the Roasted Duck curry, there was very few piece of duck, mostly were duck skins... not very satisfied with the dish.
I got food and water poisoned??? Food was excellent but got drugged here. Chemical cuasing extreme bloat in the red curry sauce. Lung suppressant warfare also. Creditor is Chase Bank. I jave lawsuit against 40 restaurants in town owned by GE and Chase Bank that are drugging me whem I patron restaurant. Going after all of these 2 companies assets as they will not stop drugging me. They think it is funny to do so to me repeatedly in town. Police and fbi won't do anything. Netherlands will companies do anything as usually of restaurant back kitchen involved. Also lower kankle gout of suspected acid salt and crosswind base protein...
Will not recommend this place for thai lovers.
We ordered Tom Yum Soup (with shrimp), Green Curry, Pineapple fired rice (with no tofu, mushroom) egg was okay. Almost of all our dishes had one veggies which was 80% cabbage. Upon asking the server, she said they have only (carrots, cabbage) vegetables.
Will go to my family favorite thai restaurant (authentic thai food) “Trinity Street Food”
Me and my coworkers love this place. Love the pad see eww. When choosing the spice level leave your pride out of it unless you dont want to enjoy the delicious food lol.
Absolute best Thai food in Houston. Very unique dishes as well (e.g., spicy wings with crispy basil, spring rolls with beet root). The most critical palate will not be let down.
This is such a cozy and inviting restaurant! The food is super tasty and quick to arrive. The waiters are really friendly. It was not very busy but great ambiance. This place is not very noticeable but definitely a find! We'll1 be back!
Great Lunch, wonderful service!
We had crab fried rice and pad Thai. Both were delicious!!
Unfortunately this location does not hold up to the Missouri City one, at least since I've last been there (At least 3 years ago, to be fair). The food was okay, very mild on the seasoning compared to other Thai restaurants. I had the Yellow Curry while my girlfriend had the Tom Yum soup.
Contrary to the food, the service was great. Very quick and attentive.
This. Place. Is. Perfect.
I'm on bed rest in a nearby hotel, and I am OBSESSED with their green curry. So much flavor, and nothing has to be changed for my dietary needs. Do you know how hard that is to find!?
Love it, love it, love it. If you're in the area, you have to try this place. It's a requirement now. ❤️
There was a cockroach in my soup
My favorite place!
First time here. Excellent food and great selection. Will be back the next time I'm in Houston
Decent Thai food for cold days, or whenever you're feeling something spicy.
Always great food. I’ve been coming here for 15 or 20 years and you won’t be disappointed. Staff is great.
Had a roach in my food.
The food was amazing!
Very pushy wait staff. Rushed me through my entire lunch experience.
Best chicken I have ever had in curry it was so tender and juicy. Great pineapple curry.
Always fresh and good
Decent food, nice ambiance
Went here for lunch with a coworker. We shared the new Curry Puff as an appetizer which turned out to be a great idea. It was crispy and delicious. I had the Peanut Rama lunch special because I can't get enough of the Thai peanut sauce. It was delicious a well. Service is good and the food was delivered to the table quickly.
Great food but Customer Service from the waitress can be improved.
Always the best
Food and service was absolutely amazing!!!
This place was a buzz today! That was my first inkling lunch was going to be good.
First the beverages... My sweet tea was AMAZING! It had a underlying taste I couldn't identify, but I loved it!

$35.00 (without tip) for 2 to dine.
One of the best curry I had in a while. Great service
Good food and service. Very reasonably priced
This location seems to be better than the others. Reminds me of how the locations used to be. The service was very attentive and the food was very good except for the fried spring roll which was mushy and gritty. I suspect that they come in frozen and when they fry them doesn't have time to get hot enough on the inside
Good place for a curry in a hurry. The restaurant was revamped during COVID and seems more spacious with a lighter ambiance.
Hands down the BEST Thai food I've had in Houston. The flavor was so delicious. I had the pad Thai and fried chicken wings. Both were SUPER DELICIOUS! The service was great too. I can't wait to go back.
I love this place, I visit at least once a week! Taste is always consistent!
Not a fan of their Tom Kai coconut soup. The chicken was processed and lacking ingredients from the original soup. I still give the place a try with its other dishes but I highly doubt I’ll try this item again here.
Hands down the best shrimp pad thai I've had in Houston... It was moist, juicy, and flavorful. The flavor was exactly what I was looking for: Thai-flavored lol. And the fried chicken wings (Wings of Paradise)....OMG so GOODT! I was a bit skeptical because I'm not fond of basil, BUT those wings were wonderful, even with the basil! Give this place a try, it'll be worth your while👍🏼👍🏼
The food is good but I wouldn't go during lunch hour on a weekday. I've gone twice and they are short for waitstaff...only a couple for the restaurant, and that happened both times. I had to wave them down to get any attention, utensils, to go box, dessert, etc. Lots of waiting.
My favorite Thai food for 20+ years. Starting off with a salad with peanut dressing yummy. Next, wings of paradise, amazing! Then cashew chicken medium spicy with a side of their sweet and sour sauce...just makes my taste buds sing with happiness. Lovely staff and great service.
Food is excellent. We had panang curry, chicken sate, huge shrimp rolls, tiger bbq, crab fried rice, pad thai. Along with thai teas. Everything is excellent except for pad thai. Really. U cant go wrong with the other ones. We definitely make this place a regular.
Delicious food and good service. I would recommend to anyone.
Great food. Amazing soup. Good service.
I like how clean and nice everything is.
The food is always flavorful and hot. Customer service is also consistently good.
Family dinner night
Good food for a reasonable price
Love love the food here!!! Sara always takes good care of us! Always love going back! She's so friendly and the food of course is so good !!!
In a nutshell… another hidden Gem close to the a beltway 8. The flavor of the food at this place is from another world considering the tier. Nice, but not excessively fancy.
In more than 3 years eating here at least 1 time per week I haven’t found a better Thai Place and I’ve tried a few. There might be one that can match this one up or even surpass it, I just haven’t found it in Houston yet and I repeat… I’ve tried.
There’s apparently a new management in place and they’ve made a few changes so far I’m not too happy with, like eliminating the original Fresh Shrimp Spring Roll they had that was a must for me during lunchtime break, they swapped it for a huge one that’s more expensive and not even a bit better (in my opinion). But this place is SO GOOD in general, that unfortunate Spring Roll change won’t keep me away at all.
I work around the area so, I'm a big time lunch special consumer for this place:
There are 2 Dishes that have a technical tie for me. Which is the Pad Thai that is simply life-changing… that’s it, haven't found match for it, has an addictive-impacting flavor and The Yellow Curry, that has the same appreciation from me. Is creamy, intense, sweet and balanced!
But is barely impossible to go wrong with the rest of the Menu... any of the soups (specially the Tom Yum) and other dishes like Princess of Siam, Garlic and Pepper Lovers, Taste of Ginger, Peanut-Rama, the Roasted Duck in curry or any of the other (Green or Red) curries, have at least a 7 of 10 on my tastiness scale. You name it, you won’t be disappointed, unless you’re a purist, I’m not sure how authentic the place is, since I never been in Thailand…. but what they have is GOOD.
Service is dedicated, organized, professional, very polite and overall very good.
Need to admit that on business days, I might have 40% of my lunches at this place. So my weekly experience with the Place is almost strictly an excellent and very reliable source for quick-tasty <-(VERY!) lunch break during a busy day.
I have cravings while the Pad Thai or the Yellow Curry pop on my mind, so the idea on having any of those 2 sometimes drags me to the place beats other options I sometimes consider.
You can ask one of the Managers Sujitra about Victor. She’ll definitely tell you I know what I’m talking about when it comes to the place! LOL She's awesome! Practically all the staff is.
100% recommended.
Great place
Restaurant week was soooo delicious. I see why they won the award. Some of the best Thai food I had in Houston. The portions is what caught me off guard. Gave me plenty of food unlike a fee Thai restaurants that I've been to. I will definitely be coming back for more. Thanks for the great service.
This Thai restaurant has the best Thai in Houston!
This has been a favorite of mine for years.
Restaurant Week menu was amazing. So many unique items, not the usual thing. Portions were generous. Felt like they were giving me a gift for participating in Restaurant Weeks.
Great flavors and nice customer service
Great food and service. Fair prices, as well.
Food is delicious, attentions very nice and the atmosphere very clean, quiet and peaceful
The food is entirely too sweet. Every sauce and curry tastes like coconut and sugar regardless of what it is. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because the service was excellent. If the food was half as good as the service I would give a much better rating.
The best thai place ever! Love the curries and cashew chicken
Love this place! Have been coming to the Westheimer and Beltway 8 location for several years now. Have been to the Greenway Richmond location and the Bissonnet location. Have never been disappointed with any of the choices I've made. It's delicious and fresh!
THERE WAS HAIR IN MY PAD THAI!
Its frankly disgusting and it ruined the experience.
Well priced, good portions, great taste.
Best value in lunch specials.
First time here for lunch. I like the lunch menu.. lots of choices and good prices. Had the Pad Thai Chicken. It was delicious. Staff is friendly. They were busy when I visited - they are at limited capacity and follow mask requirements and do a good job of cleaning between customers.
Food is excellent, service is excellent and beers are cheap!👍
Todo rico solo que la última vez que fui el gren corry estaba más espesa y ahora un poco aguada pero rico
Nothing spectacular about this place. My food was underwhelming. However the friend I come with liked his Pad Thai.
VERY Bad Service. Water was served in no recycle containers.
Loved this place! Me and my husband stumbled upon this place by luck, and were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is lovely and they’ve kept the place very clean!
We found the quality of food to be really good. And the best part is they have vegetarian choices, so I’d definitely recommend any fellow vegetarians to visit :)
Great service and food!
I had the yellow curry, and it blew my mind. Borderline religious experience. Found my new go-to Thai spot!
I have been to the Sugar Land location countless times, but this was my first time coming to this location. My friend and I came on a weeknight about an hour before closing. We were the only ones there, which was quite nice. The decor and lighting is beautiful, and we had good service as well. We ordered red curry as well as the chili basil with chicken. Both were delicious and we got them at spice level 2, which was perfect! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Have always enjoyed their lunches here, especially the curries. It's always clean and the service has been attentive without being overbearing. Even the simple salad and spring rolls are really good.
Very tasty food
Good food❣
Delicious
Good Pad Thai!!
The food was just okay by they're clean and very professional
Finally They open for Dine in 😁
Tried their pad Thai and spring rolls - delicious! Will definitely be returning.
