Quality ingredients w the complex flavors I was hoping for, and they were happy to not make crazy Thai spicy. I would prefer to see the traditional Thai names on all their dishes as that’s what I’m used to in the most authentic mom and pop shops, so this is a little toned down in that regard, but I have to give them kudos for really sticking w solid fresh herbs when other places hold back to cut costs…will definitely be back next time in town…and yes, it is a little pricier here then the usual top shelf Thai dive, but that’s expected for the locale.

The owners, Yasmin and Braden Wages, have created a space where we visited on a Friday night and were pleased to find plenty of seating available. The noise level was also conducive to conversation, which we appreciated.

However, the ambiance was somewhat detracted from by the presence of TV screens showing sporting events. While this might appeal to some, we felt it didn't quite fit with the overall dining experience.

The wait staff, while efficient, came across as robotic and lacked a genuine understanding of the restaurant's cuisine. It was surprising how little knowledge they had about the dishes, and we were particularly taken aback by their inability to pronounce "Penang" correctly. This lack of familiarity with the menu was disappointing.

My fiancé and I live in the area and have came here for the last year. Get the drunken noodles or the ruby trout and ask for John - he usually tends bar. You’ll be taken care of and have a great meal. If the owners would add a some cheap wine for happy hour, I’d give 6 stars. Great spot.

Mailai was wonderful and one of the best dining experiences I have ever had!! We were greeted enthusiastically by an extremely friendly woman and let her know we were very hungry. She took us to a nice booth where a server almost immediately greeted us. The food and service was excellent and it doesn’t really matter what we ate, as I’m confident that anything you might order on the menu is going to be excellent. We were attended to by a variety of service staff, each of whom was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating! Subsequently we found out that our “hostess” was the owner, Yasmin and had a great conversation with her before we left. This is an excellent restaurant with high quality food and service. Nice ambiance. Waitress was phenomenal. The food was absolutely awful and didn’t have flavor. I ordered samosas and Drunken noodles. THEE blandest and driest noodles I’ve ever had. The samosa tasted like they took a slice of toast and cut it into 4 triangles and sprinkled salt on them. That’s how bland and small they were. The chutney for the samosas - completely watered down and flavorless. I’ve had better tasting samosas out of the frozen section in the supermarket. My friend ordered some lamb with curry and beef pho. Her food was also very bland. The drunken noodles were $18. I could have gone to CrushCraft and paid half that for more food that tastes 100x better.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. The spring rolls were fresh, the peanut sauce deeeelicious, and they’re the only places I’ve been to that makes their curry paste from scratch- and you can really tell! They’re super accommodating to vegans, the service was well above average, and I cannot recommend Malai Kitchen enough! Don’t pass on this place if you want some incredible Thai food.

Excellent restaurant. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Extensive menu with lots of options - uses a modern twist to Thai/vietnamese cuisine. Pleasant service & very nice ambience throughout. Some unique options are the papaya salad and soups - would recommend as a great dinner spot.

Malai is one of my fav Thai spots. I come here and other locations often. I had the pleasure of getting Tim as my server and he was AMAZING from start to finish. There was a lil hiccup with him getting to us right away due to his tables being switched but when he did get to my friend & I he went above and beyond. Very kind & extremely personable.

Love, love, love this place. It is truly my go-to recommendation when I am asked about restaurants in the area. The food is excellent but the service is top tier!

We got pad thai, pad see ew and the imperial rolls all to go. Overall, this was high quality thai food at a reasonable price point. Although we did not dine in, the ambiance of the restaurant seemed nice when picking up our food. We plan on returning.

Dined at Malai tonight and all I can say is I am thoroughly impressed. The food was incredible, I can easily say it was the best meal I have ever had. We had the Fried Imperial Rolls as an appetizer, I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai as my entree, my wife got the yellow curry bowl, and we got an order of roti to share. Every single bite of our food was full of flavor and was cooked to perfection. Shout out to the kitchen for a perfect execution of our dinner.

But the service was also a shining star. Our server (Cassidy) was attentive, helpful, and suggestive. We told her it was our first time at Malai and she suggested the chef's recommendations and offered advice and helped with questions we had with the menu. All night I noticed a constant stream of employees refilling our drinks, taking plates, and bringing food. The Malai team here really works hard to ensure a perfect dining experience and I couldn't recommend this location more. I celebrated my birthday here tonight, and I want to give a very sincere thank you to the Malai team for making it a perfect night.

This place won’t get my money ever again. To still fully charge someone for their dish after having to literally pull a hair out of my mouth from the noodles is insane. The audacity! Just because you offer to remake it, i was still inconvenienced by a disgusting experience ! Your staff need to have hair nets! Especially in the kitchen.

Food was just okay. The chicken satay was not fully cooked. Made sure to take a charcoal pill when I got home so that I don’t get food poisoning. I ordered the over easy fried rice. Idk if it’s because I forgot to tell them to make it spicy or if I just genuinely didn’t like this dish. Very soy forward. I do like soy and was aware it would be tossed in soy but they seem to have gone a bit overboard with it. My waitress was fantastic and I lucked up with a close parking space so those two were a plus.

Great place! The jalapeño margarita is amazing. The curries are fantastic. The seared trout is the best entrée on the menu. Get the coconut pie for dessert.

The place is lit! Curries are creamy and have just the right taste. Fried rice is tasty too!

I’ve been here one more time.
Today I had “Red Curry Iceland Cod”, one of the best flavoring experience I had.
Don’t ask me, but as traveler and Latin one, I can talk about flavorings.
Also the service and Malaysian Martini were incredible for me.

The oh well attitude just didn’t sit right with me but special thanks to V and the other staff members! You all made me feel welcomed and for that I thank you!

Visiting Dallas and this is the first place my cousin took us to, and I'm so glad he did! We came during a dinner rush so it was busy, but our server Tram was top tier and attentive nonetheless. She took care of us and was very competent about the dishes and cocktails. Even though it was busy she still managed to take really good care of us! Will definitely be returning when I visit Dallas again!

Good service uh but the food is not edible. From an Asian point of view. Too salty. And not authentic at all, some dishes very bland some too salty. Just weird twists on things that don’t work. Had pad see ew super salty. The appetizer wings were good though

My go to place for good food!

Goodness. I tried the Bangkok Street Fried Rice once and I have been craving it ever since. The only reason I’m even here is because I thought about it again. My friend got the Chicken Pad Thai and she loved her meal as well! Not really on the expensive side either for a fine dining experience. Definitely loved the ambiance, and they had a complimentary appetizer which was a good starter. Loved my experience and if I didn’t live nearly an hour away from Dallas I would probably be here everyday.

Normally I don't eat Thai food and is not one of my favorite cuisines. But recently tried this place last weekend and the food was absolutely great. Will definitely be coming back for more thai food. We are vegetarian and they customized all dishes to be vegetarian friendly. Had papaya salad, drunken noodles with tofu, glass noodles, mango sticky rice and coconut gelato.

The service was great. We told them we had a peanut and banana allergies, and they made sure to take all of the out of the dishes in the table. Great drinks. Two adult men and the bill was about $100.00. An appetizer, two entres, and two drinks. Not bad.

The place is extremely beautiful, especially the inside with all the windows. The food was very good, and the perfect amount of heat for what I ordered (extra spicy). I had the beef samosas as an appetizer, and the sauce to dip was perfectly matched, but their prize winner is their homemade Sriracha sauce! It's actually the best I've ever had anywhere, I wish I would've bought one to take home, but I wasn't sure if it was an option. I had the Jungle Curry Hot Pot With Shrimp. A coconut-less curry and it was addicting the entire time, I usually get burned out with curries after the 5th spoonful. Waitress was very nice and attentive, and everything was neat and clean through-out. I need to come back to try more things, there so many interesting entrees to try.

While in town we tried this food joint out. Our waitress was very nice, the atmosphere was enjoyable and the food was great. The pad thai was actually supposed to be shrimp but was really good. We did get it switched out to the shrimp pad thai which was not a problem and it was done very quickly.

Great food and drinks at Malai kitchen. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Appreciated the unique flavors in the drink I ordered as well as the main course.

The Thai coconut soup was amazing along with the lemongrass fizzer and the mango sticky rice!
Leo was a great server and the atmosphere was wonderful (air conditions patio).
We will be back!

This place continues to always exceed my expectations, when you walk in everyone smiles and says hello. Inside and outside seating rocks. But what was awesome the past couple times there was our waiter "Tim Morin", the guy is a rock star!! he is attentive without being intrusive, he balances professionalism and friendliness.
I highly recommend this place.

I want to praise Malai Kitchen for creating a stellar atmosphere. The gentleman behind the bar spoke highly of the restuarant's culture. The music was just at the right volume so as not to be intrusive. There was no feeling of being rushed through a meal so that another paying customer could take my seat. At Malai I actually felt invited to stay and enjoy the time there. Many restaurants settle for a mediocre environment so long as customers don't complain. However, I could tell Malai was different in all the right ways. Oh, and the food was spectacular!

Great vegetarian options. I especially loved the Burmese Tea Salad. The service was great. Tram assisted us with our meal and made some very good suggestions. I will dine here again the next time I am in this area.

The food was incredible! Our server was very kind and attentive. We sat on the patio so, there was no shortage of people watching. It was a bit loud because of a larger party that arrived after our appetizer, but otherwise an amazing experience. Will DEFINITELY be returning!!

We had no wait coming here for a quick dinner. The place is beautifully decorated with plenty of seating inside and it has covered outside seating. The waiter came and took our drink order and food order quickly and the food came out right on time. The food was fresh,. delicious and flavorful, the Drunken Noodles were above delicious! Would definitely return.

Food was great. Service was alright. Some things she forgot and came back to confirm and that was fine. Took a long time to get our drinks. I understand they were busy. But what got me was when we paid. We paid cash she ran off with it and she was looking for change for 15 minutes. She didn't notify us that's what she was doing. If we would of known it was going to take that long to get change we would of paid card.

Consistently great food and good service. The spicy basil chicken is amazing and the portions are very generous.

I have a love-hate relationship with this location. The food is so delicious and flavorful. I love to dine on the covered, patio portion of the restaurant. Lovely views of the surrounding shops, and you get people watch. Anthony is the best waiter there, so calm and collect.

My biggest complaint is…
Every single time I order the mango, sticky rice, whether I order it while dining in, or to go. The server always tries to deter me from ordering it. It is my favorite dessert in the entire world, and I love everything about it! However, I have had a full on war every time, just trying to order it. Things escalated so much I had to talk to a Manager. I understand that they want the dish served a certain way, but it’s on the menu. Call me old school, but I like to order it every time.

I am looking forward to checking out the other locations.

I was craving some Burmese Tea Leaf Salad on a Sunday and usually Burmese restaurants are closed Sundays. My friend and I decided to dine here to order the tea leaf salad and we were AMAZED at how good the food was (not just the salad) Our server Chris was also amazing at his job and knew the ins and outs of the menu. Will definitely be coming back to try the very authentic and fun filled menu.
The all day happy hour on Sunday was also fantastic!

+ Definitely try the Burmese tea leaf salad. I wish there were more Burmese restaurants in the area, but the Thai and Vietnamese cuisine is always a hit!

Green curry is the best!

Love this place! The pho is great and the green curry is a new favorite. Anthony has been our server several times and is always extremely polite and helpful. It’s one of our regular spots!

Ohhhh the food was amazing! Our waiter Tim provided superb customer service and was able to give my girlfriend and myself great recommendations since it was our first time!

This spot is perfect for a date night, happy hour, or if you just want to try something different!

The service was fast as well! We will definitely be going back, and this is highly recommended!

Oh and the Jalapeño Margarita I ordered was FIRE🔥👍!

First time coming in and Anthony suggested AMAZING recommendations for my mom and I. The food was amazing and Anthony made our experience even more enjoyable. For reference, I had the lamb curry and it was a 10/10. For an appetizer, we ordered the tuna ceviche, another 10/10. And my mom ordered the shrimp pad Thai, which she rated “best I’ve ever had.”

Our service was impeccable. Atmosphere was wonderful as upbeat Thai pop music was playing gently in the background. People watching was wonderful in Uptown (it’s worth going just for that!)

Cocktails were wonderful. The food, the food, the food! Loved every bite of it! We had scallops over pad Thai plus Ahi Tuna laar and fresh snow peas. Everythin we had was delightful, delicious, delovely!

This is a go-to for me. Highly recommend the pork tacos, roti bread, the salads are all delicious, as are all of their noodle and rice bowls. The ginger + lime sugar cane juice is sinful, and the detox ginger green tea is so refreshing (add simple syrup for a sweet treat)

I went to Malai thinking this is the first time I am here but the minute I entered inside, I was back into time. I had been here before and the experience was really nice as always. I love their thai curries. They give you details about everything that goes into their dishes and it is always made fresh for you. Their fresh sugarcane juice with ginger and lime is the perfect pair if your like your thai curries extra spicy like myself.

My wife and I went here for date night after a cocktail making class. Idk what she ordered because the star of the show was the Fried Whole Bronzino cooked to perfection over a bed of rice with a very lite but very flavorful sauce and a side salad. Whole Bronzino with rice and side salad for 30 bucks… that’s a great value if you ask me considering you can easily spend 15 bucks on fast food. We will definitely be back and recommend to others.

Whatever my wife had was 🔥 and the grilled chicken satay was mid. Probably wouldn’t order the satay agian.
