This compact restaurant features a stone wall & a cozy atmosphere for a menu of Thai cuisine.
We arrived at about 7pm on a Saturday night. Luckily, some people were just leaving as we arrived so a table and a high top opened up. They seated our party of 5 at the high top. The restaurant is not very large and was pretty full.
We ordered the Pad Thai (as we do at almost every Thai restaurant), the Super Crab (soft shell crabs on eggs) and the Duck Red Curry. The Duck Red Curry was everyone’s favorite. It had several large pieces of duck and had a great flavor. The Pad Thai was pretty good but I felt it was a little too dry for my liking - and a little on the sweet side. Soft shell crab is one of my favorite things to eat but the Super Crab didn’t look that appetizing to me. They were served on eggs - kinda like scrambled but more mushy. I did not care for this dish but my kids liked it.
Service was pretty good. They did keep the water carafes on the table full and there was complimentary 2 hour parking validation.
Atmosphere was good. The entry was very small tight. If anyone was waiting for a table, it was hard for anyone else to get by. The bathroom was clean but had a very strong sewer smell. I think they know about it because they had a candle burning and a piece of plastic trying to cover up the drain hole in the ground.
Hungry and want a good portion size of Thai food? Super Thai is your place! Will fill your stomach and you can take home as well.
A great portion size and decent taste. Do try their Thai Chives Dumplings & Super Satay Tofu, both are different and delicious.
Pad Kee Mow and Basil Fried Rice could’ve been better but definitely a great portion size.
Wow 🤩 great food. Impressive customer service. Servers have a great friendly vibe and are on top of things.
We had already dug into these big portions but I had to snap some photos and share how yummy this food was.
My husband got the basil fried rice with pork belly. He says the Pork Belly is crispy and wonderful. Yum!! And I got the Yellow Curry with tofu the broth is spicy but not too spicy and the rice is not over cooked (I hate overcooked rice)
Everything came out steaming hot and so fresh tasting. Plus I got enough for dinner as well as our lunch. Highly recommend if you live in Austin.
There is parking and they cover the payment for the 1st two hours.
We came here back in the summer. We got the spicy House Wings, Pad See-Ew, and Green Curry, and also a Thai green tea.
The thai green tea tastes pretty odd tbh. I’ve been to Thailand multiple times and have had Thai green tea there, and I can confirm that the Thai green milk tea you can get at boba shops tastes like the authentic one. This restaurant’s Thai green tea does not taste like this at all. It was suuuuper sweet but did not have that aromatic scent.
Pad see-ew was fine but not memorable. The green curry was the best dish that we got, it was a bit spicy though. We disliked house wings. It seemed like they only boiled the wings then drench them in the spicy sauce without actually frying them. The wings were kind of mushy and did not go well with the sauce at all.
Parking is available, but it has to be validated by the restaurant.
I wouldn’t recommend a friend here.
Best crab fried rice! Quick and great portions I love coming to eat here it’s alway on point with the flavors and fresh!
I had the duck here and it was the worst lunch i had in a long time. Did not like it. When i told the waiter they offered to provide me another meal to go at the end of the dinner when i had to return back to work. They never offered to comp the meal and charged me 41 dollars for lunch. Horrible.
Have ordered pickup from here twice, and both times have been spot on. Wonton soup is amazing. Duck red curry has the perfect kick and combo of flavors and ingredients. Great portion sizes. Egg rolls are solid. Food has always been warm, well packed, and delicious.
Would be nice if in the take out orders you put freaking fork at least in your orders is not nice to drive 15 minutes to picks it up and find out you are to cheap not tonouy a single fork
As someone who used to travel to Bangkok regularly for work and lived in New York for 12 years, I can attest to the amazing flavors available at super Thai, served in Texas sized portions. Friendly, quick service in a casual environment - making it an approachable place to gather with families, dates and friends.

A great portion size and decent taste. Do try their Thai Chives Dumplings & Super Satay Tofu, both are different and delicious.
Pad Kee Mow and Basil Fried Rice could’ve been better but definitely a great portion size.
Super Thai is a cute little place to eat at for a catch-up with a friend or a nice 2 person meeting over some very tasty food. I ordered Pad Thai which is my go to meal when trying a new place. It's hard to find good Pad Thai that is made well and this one had a very tasty flavor. My only issue was that they didn't bring out a separate place of additional items like Basel (I had to request that) and more bean sprouts, and lemon and peanut sauce. My meal would have tasted so much better if that had that. Instead the meal comes with bean sprouts but not as much.
My big issue about this place was that when you walked in the whole place smelled like a bathroom that had been cleaned for awhile. The scent lingered in the air and made for a bad first impression when walking in. The second issue I had was the parking. You must validate your car when you walk in otherwise you will either get towed or a ticket so they make everyone validate their car for 2 hours. It's free but a concern I had about parking in places like that because even if the tow company gets the wrong car they don't refund you anything.
The space is small but nice. I'm sure it gets very busy at night and the weekends.
Staff is very nice and welcoming. Great customer service, great food.
I had E2 Veggie Supreme, I really enjoyed it.
i got the deep fried duck as an entree and fried tofu and calamari as my apps. the duck was kind of dry and lukewarm as was the fried tofu. the calamari was good, though. atmosphere was nice and cozy
Delicious Pad Thai and excellent service.
I’ve eaten here far too many times to count on one hand & I can genuinely say this is the best Thai food in Austin. From the cozy atmosphere to the consistency in food & flavors, there’s something so special about this spot. This might be my love letter to super thai, I’m not sure?? Thank you for providing memories through food, that I get to share with friends & family♥️
Disappointing Decline - Did the Recipes Change?
I recently ordered the spicy pad thai with chicken and extra sauce, expecting my usual meal. Unfortunately, this was the most flavorless pad thai I've ever experienced. Not only was there no spice at the requested level of 3/5, but the overall flavor was completely lacking.
I used to be a frequent customer, ordering at least three times a month. However, this recent experience, coupled with other negative reviews mentioning a decline in quality, leads me to believe that the recipes may have changed.
Sadly, it seems I'll need to find a new go-to Thai spot.
I used to visit this place often in the past few years, but haven’t been here in months almost a year maybe. Unfortunately, the Thai tea is no longer good—it’s extremely sweet with no aroma, and it’s only half the size it used to be. The worst part was the fried rice; it had a noticeable amount of undercooked, hard grains, making it difficult to eat despite the flavor being almost the same. Did the restaurant change owners?
Great food at an even better price
Used be very good. Last several times the food was ok but not great.
Ordered delivery on UberEats and there was a squished, dead cockroach at the bottom of the delivery bag. Absolutely disgusted, and when I called the restaurant, they said sorry and that I need to go through Uber for any kind of refund.
The money isn't as important as how casual they reacted to the fact that there was a dead cockroach with my food. You would almost think they're used to complaints like this.
Excellent all the way around. Curry was phenomenal

Food is VERY good. But I added shrimp into my chicken curry, and the shrimp was VERY over cooked and dry. It was not worth $3 extra.
5/5 tom kha - flavor is on point!!
5/5 pad see ew - pretty standard pad see ew. Good amount of meat. Got the crispy pork belly, the bigger pieces were cooked nicely where its crispy on the outside but still soft in the middle. The small pieces were overcooked
I like spicy food and went with level 4. Wasnt really spicy, but nice flavor
All a little on the expensive side, but good sized portions
The ribeye, the duck curry, the drunken noodles, and the tom ka were phenomenal. Decent prices, huge portions. Can't recommend it enough.
I was super disappointed with my order. I got the pad Thai (without protein), and it was so mediocre and dry. The portion size was huge, but I ended up having to throw it away.
Great Thai place. Good food selection and excellent service. The place is small and parking is difficult but it’s worth it.
Ok place . Nothing to be raved about.
Roach with eggs present in our food delivery. Very disappointing as we usually love and enjoy Super Thai. Unfortunately, we will not be ordering from Super Thai again.
Red curry was pretty good. Prices are ok. Didn't have a spice powder to increase spiciness, only chili oil. Decent amount of parking.
Pretty good pad kee mao. I personally love the vegetable soup
SUPER TAi NEVER disappoints! Great meals everytime. Not the greatest date spot if you are looking to linger, but well worth the visit
I had the Tom Kha soup. First time ordering here and was pleased. Next I’ll dine in. Tks
This place is great for getting a hot plate of noodles. Food always tastes great and the staff is attentive and on top of it. It can get busy since there's not much seating but it's a cozy little spot that's perfect for a date night out. I wish I lived closer. We drive out from Dripping Springs to come eat here.
Super inconsistent. I've spent so much money here over the past 2 years and 30% of the time it's just bad. Very DRY Pad Thai, awful tofu...
Ordered to go. my chicken wings were soggy and tasted old. The soup was sour and not great. I would not eat here again
They served us chicken instead of tofu and did not tell us until we had finished our meal (vegetarian for 10+ years). Then when we asked to speak to the manager she disappeared to the back of the store and never spoke with us after waiting for 20 min. Will not be back, don’t recommend for vegetarians.
Such a great meal! Ordered most of the appetizers and wasn't disappointed by anything! Duck red curry was amazing and the pad see ew was also great! Will definitely be back out next trip to Austin

I ordered the red curry to go and it did not disappoint. The interior looked cozy when I picked up my food to go.
We came here back in the summer. We got the spicy House Wings, Pad See-Ew, and Green Curry, and also a Thai green tea.

I wouldn’t recommend a friend here.
Bland flavorless pad Thai
I’ve tried their pad Thai a few times but it’s always been bland and tasteless. I don’t love heat but I even tried a higher level spicy to see if it help but now I’m eating bland noodles while my mouth burns. Maybe another dish is better?
More of an European/American grill restaurant than a Thai place
Came from out of town and was encouraged through reviews. Unfortunately did not get a chance to try. Parking was difficult to find and then when entering, would not be seated until I proved I paid parking. Also, their internet was conveniently down and they were unable to validate parking either. 1 hour parking was $10. We left and got something more convenient for us. Will not attempt to try again. Didn’t like the atmosphere or attitude of the employees.
Update: we’ve been coming here since it opened and the food was bland last time. Three out of four dishes seemed like they forgot ingredients. I hope this was a one off but I think you should have this feedback. I’m happy to update this the next time we dine there.
Much improved service since Krua. Food is still excellent but service went from poor to very good.
Basil fried rice was amazing!
The food was amazing! We ordered the ahi scoop as an appetizer, it’s well-made and balanced. Both the duck plate and the red snapper plate were amazing. I liked the duck plate more as it’s perfectly crispy and goes well with the sauce. I didn’t expect the red snapper to be fried, but it ended up being ok eating with the sauce. I would like to come back and try the curry plates!! I would recommend getting there before 6 on a Saturday night to avoid long waiting. It’s a nice hole-in-the wall kind of place (music is a little loud). But overall it’s a nice place for small party.
In the past when I ordered E1 Pad Gra-Prao Moo Krob, it always comes with rice. On the website, the rice option is not one of the required field, and I definitely didn’t tick NO RICE option!!! Ordered picked up today came home with no rice! Why is everyone just being disappointing nowadays
Amazing thai food
This is one of the only places where I can get food at my desired spice level if i want (really high) The chili crisp/oil is my favorite condiment ever. I always get the pad kee mao +3 spicy or the fried rice. I’ve tried the curry and i loved it, but not a big fan of the vegetables that come w the curry. Portion is 100% worth the price imo
Good food. Friendly service. But we’d come here much more often if it weren’t so hot inside. I know it gets hot in Austin in August but I never sweat through a meal anywhere else in town.
FIRE!!! enough said!
First time . Great food . Reminds me of beck home in Cali
Solid place for Thai food. Most of their curries have shrimp paste in them, which is a bummer, but there's a separate menu for Vegan/Vegetarian options. The food and portions were incredible so despite the smaller selection, still totally worth it!
Highly highly recommend the Brussel Sprouts and basil fried rice!
Best Thai food 😋
One of my favs in Austin, really big portion size and the green curry and pad kee maw is the BEST. The grilled egg plant in the green curry is so good.
Great food, my favorite is the papaya salad… and I normally don’t like papaya! As a chef, I can say the food is very authentic and you get healthy portions. Dine in is tight, kinda crowed and the parking blows (not in a good way). But good wise this is my new favorite spot, but will only do take out from now on.
Tofu pad Thai was unfortunately pretty bad.
Really good food and prices! Only issue is space is a bit tight. Highly recommended.
The food was so good and fresh. My Green Curry stayed hot till the last bite. Definitely coming back.
Great quality food and atmosphere! Had the pad Thai and loved it
Best Thai food in the city. We love it so much we come multiple times a month. Every single entrée I’ve ordered has been delicious. I don’t think you can go wrong. We’ve decided they have the best fried rice in Austin. Seriously, if you are a fan of fried rice, try it. They stay open late and have a friendly and helpful staff. It’s so cool that they recognize us on sight and immediately know our drink orders. The parking area in front is a bit small, but if you drive to the back you’ll find more spaces.
1. Parking details are not conveyed to patrons clearly. I paid the parking before I went inside, but I didn’t have to. The lady at the desk was so rude while conveying how to finish validating the parking, as if I am supposed to know. This was my first and last time here !
2. We love Thai food and this was below average food ! Not too flavorful. Not sure if authentic cooks prepare it.
3. Atmosphere is 2/10 -flies everywhere. Should have something to kill the flies. Hygiene should be improved. This could lead to diseases !
Avoid this place !
One of my favorite places in Austin with lots of vegan choices. It's small and almost always full but I didn't have to wait this time. Great atmosphere but tables are pretty close to each other and somewhat loud.
The food was tasteless. Ordered basil beef fried rice. It was supposed to be spicy. No spice at all. Very greasy and difficult to swallow. I also had the massaman curry and it was so thick. Never seen and tasted this curry this way. I basically wasted my money. Could t even take it to go. I was upset about the food and I had to pay full price for something that I didn’t eat
Appetizers - great
Entrees - so-so
Service - really bad
Can you smile and spend more than a minute with your customers? I felt a bit hostile when the waiter didn’t want to spend more than a minute with us while serving/ taking the order for the food.
And for my fellow Vegetarian Thai heads, the curries here have shrimp paste, I still ate it knowingly, was not told unless I asked them about it.
Veggie supreme was sub par, but the waiter removed them from our bill as we didn’t not consume it more than a mouth. On the whole I would have to say that this place really has the potential to be better than what I saw last time.
Nice Thai place! I’ve visited twice so far and it’s been delicious. I’ll definitely be back!
Good soup and spring rolls.
Appreciated the water pitcher bottle on the table.
Pad woon sen lacked flavor or needed something to brighten it up.
Very loud. Hard to hear.
Hard to get into the bench seat along the wall. Packed together tightly.
Hands down. Best Thai food in Austin, and very likely the best Thai food I’ve ever had outside of actually going to Thailand. Extremely fresh, very consistent flavors and quality, great portions for the prices, and I’ve never tried something I didn’t like. It’s become our go to spot. Super quaint/quirky/cozy atmosphere, and extremely friendly staff. Food also comes out quickly - no long waits. I can’t say enough - this place is legit.
This used to be my favorite takeout spot for Thai, but after dining in I have some serious concerns about the cleanliness. They desperately need to do something about the back room. Honestly, it’s so bad that people shouldn’t even be seated there. The room is near the trash and the door doesn’t close all the way, so there were flies swarming us the entire time. I couldn’t wait to get out of there because I was constantly flicking them away and it made me lose my appetite. The candles they had burning to cover the trash smell made it smell like a bathroom which wasn’t appetizing. Service was also a bit cold and they gave us the bill while we were still finishing our food which made us feel rushed. The food is pretty good, but not sure I'll even order takeout from here anymore since the experience made me worry about how sanitary the kitchen is.
I had the Shrimp Pad Thai, and it's been a while since I finished a Pad Thai dish. The shrimp were slightly overcooked, but still very good overall.
The Thai Chive Dumplings were also very yummy by themselves, but even better with the provided thick dipping sauce.
I will be back to sample the Tom Kha Gai (Chicken Coconut Soup) which will be ultimate Thai food test.
Have ordered from here multiple times and dined in several times. Today after saying the usual “we’re vegetarian so no fish sauce or egg please” the waitress gives us a different menu that does not match the QR code menu. I explain that we’ve had the curries before and we were told they were made vegetarian just as recently as last week. She gets flustered and says the menu changed and they don’t make vegetarian curries for months. So either they can and they won’t today or they lied every other single time I’ve asked about this. Vegetarians beware.
Have mixed feelings about this place. When you go in you think hmmm looks like it will be authentic. The food was ok but not much of a spice level. When you ask for chili they give this red paste which i had high hopes would make my food spicy and give this place a big win. But no… it was not at all spicy.
Service is amazing. But it’s a very tight space.
Went with friends for my Bday. Traveled from San antonio and was not disappointed. Best tasting thai I've had in awhile.
Excellent
Easily the best Thai we've tried in Austin, to date.
Big fan of this place. Best Thai I’ve eaten in Austin
Amazing Pad Thai. The spicy edamame and Brussels sprouts were sooo good. Highly recommend.
We came in early for lunch on a weekend and the place was already packed but luckily we got a table without wait. It's a cute little place with an open kitchen.
We got the spring rolls, basil fried rice with duck and pad kee mao with chicken. The portions were big and food came out hot and quickly. The spring rolls were crispy with a nice plum sauce on the side. The pad kee mao tasted great with the right amount of veggies. The basil fried rice was amazing and it came with crispy juicy duck which went well with the rice.
Would definitely come back to try other items.
Decent food, mediocre service.
While on the hunt for a Thai restaurant, we stumbled upon this gem when returning from San Antonio. The restaurant is bit small but dining experience was fantastic—quick, stylish, and the food was exceptional. Our order included Basil Fried Rice, Original Thai Fried Rice, and Pad Thai, all of happened to be delicious.
Super Thai: Cozy Asian spot with a great vibe. Everything on the menu is delicious.
Had the Pad Prik Khing with beef and shrimp. About $20. Beef was better than shrimp. Don't need to pay the extra money for that in this dish.
Quite good. Noodles were tender. Had a slight spicy kick, even without any extra sauce. Good size - full meal.
Would be nice if they did some sort of happy hour, but they don't.
We stumbled across this spot a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try. The place was packed with a line out the door. In the 20 min we were waiting for a table, A LOT of to-go orders went out the front door. They clearly stay busy. Our food that night was very good. I eat meat and my girlfriend eats vegan dishes, and we were both very happy with what we got. Since that night we’ve eaten there again and got take out. Everything was just as good as the first time. This is definitely our new favorite place for Thai in Austin.
Got the Pad Thai, pretty okay with the extra bean sprouts I added, but messed up the spicy level and is way too spicy for me. Honestly it could have been an honest mistake but still for $20 I want to be able to enjoy the food.
C3 spiced up to 4/5 changed my world last night. Great staff and interior. Thank you !
Pros:
- Delicious Red, Green and yellow curries with tofu.
Cons:
- They cheap out on rice. Only give half box full of rice.
- Yellow curry (C3) is supposed to have potatoes but they don't add any.
- They ignore custom spice levels for some curry dishes even after asking what spice level we want.
- Customer service is mediocre at best.
Super Thai stands out from many of the other Thai restaurants in the area. The food and ambiance are both a notch higher. Will definitely return soon.
Incredible pad Thai - best I’ve had in ATX!!
The green and red curry dishes are awesome. If you like a little spice, up it to level 3. Sub pork belly. Yum. Food was ready on time for pickup with no issues.
This is NYC quality Thai food. When we moved to Austin from NYC, we really missed good Thai food (and other Asian cuisines). This place has been one of our favorites and matches the quality of our favorite places in New York. Can’t recommend this place enough.
The food was hot and fresh. The pork potstickers are amazing. Brussel sprouts were also amazing. Wonton soup is more on the shrimpy side than pork. Overall, great food and service. My only comment is that it smelt like a hamster cage/urine inside. So, 1 star off for atmosphere.
Superb!!!
The yellow chicken curry is the BEST
PINEAPPLE RICE THE BEST
don’t forget the cucumber salad!!
Great Thai spot and very good food/ service
Good Thai food, I tried the "Tiger Cry" (8 of 10), the meat, the veggies and tamarind sauce, were good, but the plate comes with a Sticky Rice which in my opinion, one of the worst sides in this restaurant, its like you are eating a rice gummy bear flavor, regular plane rice will be a better option. For drink, I asked the Super Pink, if you like sweets flavors in a drink, this is a 8.5 of 10, it has a unique flavor that you should try.
Always great service, and the Thai food is top notch.
In 30 years of living in Austin, a lot of Thai places have come and gone. More than a few started great and then gotten worse. Super Thai hasn't been around for Super Long, but right now, at least south of the river, it's our hands down favorite. In my opinion, by a lot. The food is consistently solid and everything they do, they do well. When we do dine in, I appreciate the attentive service from some, and the interest in the food and wine list that others have demonstrated.
I hope it stays as great as it is today.
The pad thai and fried rice were good. We also had a red curry dish and a tom yum soup. Both were OK but nothing special. Curry was a bit too spicy (though red curry is always spicy). They do have a lot of gluten free options which is great and we thank them for. They were also pet friendly.
Very delicious gluten free options.
Hands down best Thai I have ever had in my life
Favorite Thai spot in Austin
This used to be a good thai place with good vegetarian options. Even the chef was willing to work with you by substituting fish /shrimp sauce with salt to make it vegetarian friendly. But sadly that is not the case anymore. I think they have new owners now. The staff is very rude now they will give you lecture on how thai dishes cannot be made vegetarian friendly and every time in the past if we might have eaten there our food might have had fish and shrimp in it. It shocks me how they handled the situation. Do not recommend this place.
2023-Worst servers super unfriendly. Now they do not carry good vegetarian options. Or practically no vegetarian options. It surprised me because we have been eating here for past 1 year and all of a sudden they told us we do no do any curry vegetarian. The lady who attended to us was not so cooperative. Thats why decided to just leave. I do not recommend this place to any vegetarians or vegan person. There are better vegetarian thai places.
This was in 2022-We ordered everything vegetarian. It was so so good. We are more than we usually do coz the menu seemed so interesting.
The servers were the sweetest.
I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend.
I found it to be overpriced and prefer madam mams and thai fresh which are in the same part of town. The service and atmosphere was lovely though.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I was in a rush and had to take my food on the go, but hands down they make some great cuisine—had the beef fried rice! Will be back for more😋
Great basil fried rice, pad see ew, pad thai, and vegetable soup, egg rolls, Thai tea, accompanied by excellent service. Spice level satisfied (you can adjust things). Nothing is too greasy or too salty. Cute ambiance.
If you aren't going here for Thai food in Austin, south of the river, you are just wrong.
This was our first time coming to Super Thai and everything was super!!!
we had the Siam Pot, Fried crab, basil fried rice, and Wonton soup. When we visit Austin again we'll definitely come back.
Went in a hurry for a late lunch. Their lunch menu is usually served to 2:45pm and we thought we had missed it. We both ordered the chicken Pad Thai. Dish was tasty- maybe a little short on protein, but we were charged lunch price at $12. Really nothing to complain about. Service was fast, gracious and efficient. Restaurant is very clean. Not a place I would cross the city for, but I would happily go back if I was in the area.
This place serves amazing food and has great options for those who have dietary restrictions. My go to is the iced Thai green tea, fresh basil roll with shrimp and beef pad thai. The Gaeng Dang and Tom Kha soup is also amazing. Their portions are big and the prices are reasonable. This place is a mist go to if you’re looking for fresh Thai food to enjoy!
Chonk guzzle crab fried rice.
Phenomenal!
Seriously one of the top Thai restaurants in Austin. There food can be very spice so use caution when adding to the spice level.
I'd like to tell everyone that this is a hidden gem, but when the line to get a table is out the door, I don't think the place is hidden anymore. Boy, is the food terrific!
Was recently recommended this place, was skeptical because of the name haha. The Kao Soi was legitimately the best I’ve ever had. Life changing. The ahi scoops were good but maybe a little too much of the seaweed or whatever. Son in law eggs were fire. Beef pad Thai absolutely slapped. I’ve gone 3 times now this week.
Really wanted to like this place. Ordered the fried rice with shrimp and the shrimp was not cooked. they did offer to replace it and took it off the ticket. I have had food poisoning recently and don't want it again. Hopefully, just the spice killing me at this point and not the uncooked meat they thought it was ok to serve. My stomach had it bad all night. Check your meats at this place.
Pad see ew was really bland and the noodles probably still needed to cook a couple minutes. :( Service was nice at least
