Great food, great people, great atmosphere. There's a reason they're well-known in San Antonio.

Food is delicious, classic Thai. The papaya salad is a generous serving, and pretty spicy if you let them make it per normal. I like that it comes on a bed of lettuce. A unique item on the menu is the "basil bowl". It's like pad kra pow meets thai noodle dish- lots of veggies, lots of basil flavor, and the yummy flat noodles that you can typically only get with drunken noodles! The Thai tea is pretty standard among restaurants, I like that you can get it with boba here. Not pictured but I've had their pad thai before too, and it has the right balance of sauce to it.

All the staff are friendly and helpful. They only have QR code menus but they have some old hard-copy menus if you ask. The lunch specials are a great price for the amount of food you get.

The inside is cozy feeling, and the outside patio is lovely when the weather is nice. You get a little road noise from drivers occasionally, but it's not bad and they have a fence so you don't notice. It's got a decent amount of sun and shade so you can take your pick. I love the Koi pond!

Diner Review №3

It's an older restaurant and needs some updates but the food is always hot and good. Some of the staff are more friendly than others but there is also a language barrier, and understand as I am entering their business.😊

Diner Review №4

I enjoy their lunch special of $10.99 which includes soup of the day, a vegetarian egg roll with your plate of food. Service is friendly and accommodating. I enjoy the outside patio seating.

Diner Review №5

Best Thai food in San Antonio.
Their employees are so kind and welcoming. The menu has a large variety of Thai food and some Lao, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine.
This is my go to spot for good Pad Thai and Lao papaya salad.
I especially love that when you ask for "Thai Hot" level of spice, it truly is very spicy. I recommend this place to anyone who wants good Thai food in San Antonio.

Diner Review №6

A family favorite restaurant for my crew. All the dishes we have tried are excellent. I especially like their soup.

Diner Review №7

We went at a perfect time, around 6pm on a Saturday, not so busy. Food was great, asked for a spicy sauce and it did not disappoint! Will be back again!

Diner Review №8

First time visit refer by my Dr's receptionist. I try the fried vegetable rice & the vegetables soup. Everything was delicious. It was a very cozy welcoming place. The service was excellent. I definitely will return and let others know about it. They have sitting area outdoor I can't wait for better weather to sit outside and I can't wait to try other items from the menu 😋

Love this place, lot of choices, but only have 2 favorites.

Diner Review №16

Favorite lunch spot. Love everything on the menu. My favorite is their potato soup, only served on Friday, sometimes Wednesday too. The cheese rolls are delicate, crisp, delights, highly recommend them! We like going for the Lunch Menu, which has smaller portions and includes a spring roll, plus smaller crowds.

Diner Review №18

Ordered thai shrimp fried rice, cheese rolls and thai hot sauce to be delivered today and really wish I could get a full refund! Spent $40 and the food was so gross I had to stop eating it. Full leaves of basil in most every bite, not a good thing, undercooked fried egg jus laying on top of the rice, nowhere near as spicy as it rightfully should've been. The cheese rolls were barely warm and the cheese was chunky/curdled, which has caused nausea after eating just one. The hot sauce came in a tiny cup, and had more of a Mexican salsa type taste and consistency as opposed to thai, not worth the extra dollar. Sorry, not meaning to be unkind, just being honest. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 as the portion size is decent, but alas, for me, inedible further.

Diner Review №19

Nice and quiet restaurant, food was good!
A different Thai restaurant compared to some of the others in the city!

Such a beautiful restaurant. Best Thai in San Antonio. Authentic and delicious!! Very reasonable priced. Everyone should put it on their list!!
Been a favorite of mine for years!

Ordered takeout a few times and the food is delicious. However, the last time I ordered takeout, I got a text saying my order my ready. I was a bit late (over 30+ min) in picking it up after I received that text. Turns out, when I pulled up they didn't even start working on my order yet lol someone lied and told us they were bagging it up but we waited like 20ish min in their curbside pickup parking spot. They were definitely not bagging it up--they were definitely just barely working on it. It was later confirmed when a woman finally came out to give us our food and told us that the chefs prioritized dining customer orders first and that they were busy. I was given a curt apology and that was it. Like??? So basically, screw the customers ordering takeout then? Are we less important to you? I understand being busy and needing extra time but why the hell was I sent a text saying my order was ready when it clearly wasn't? Was it an automatic text? Because yall should fix that ASAP. The whole point of ordering takeout for me was a quick grab and go--not a go and wait... And wait.... And wait. This was an unfortunate situation because their food was actually really good but after that, I'm not sure if it's worth it coming back. Their parking lot is a huge hassle to navigate too. Very cramped and there's only 1 curbside parking spot so imagine when there's multiple takeout orders ready at the same time. Overall, my last experience was not great.

Diner Review №25

Tong's Thai is my first Thai restaurant since visiting Thailand last September where everything was fresh, juicey & delicious. Really spoiled. Restaurant has been here on old Austin Hwy for 30 years. Parking freshly mark. Notice as you go in that there are no public bathroom facilities. Restaurant was clean. Outdoor patio for dining. Greeted & seated by receptionist after qualifying number of diners, whether dining in or carrying out. David was my waiter. He was helpful & efficient. My oder was egg drop soup, spring roll, & a plate of grilled meats. Felt mishmash of meats were stringy, overgrillled and not as juicey and delicious as expected. My bill came to $30.

Diner Review №26

Great Drunken noodles. The Thai hot is very spicy!! The decorations and environment are wonderful!!

Diner Review №27

Great atmosphere, and good food. The panang was great, as was the massaman. Papaya salad was overdressed but still good.

Diner Review №28

Overall get experience. Did not like that physical menu had all prices blocked off so when choosing no idea of prices. In addition charged extra for beef per dish which was not written in advance.

Diner Review №29

Diner Review №30

Went here for the first time after reading such good reviews for the food. Tong’s Thai did not disappoint. We had amazing food and service. Only point I’d like to make is that they automatically added a 20% gratuity for being a party of 7, though four of the 7 were kids. And we didn’t know ahead of time that this would be the case. Otherwise, the prices were reasonable and the serving sizes were ample. And our waiter was also really good. The ambience is also very clean and welcoming.

So good
Food was 10/10

Diner Review №37

Diner Review №38

I ordered the cheese wontons, the sesame chicken, and the pineapple fried shrimp. Everything tasted wonderful. The food came out hot. The chicken was so crispy as opposed to most Chinese where the fried food gets soggy in the sauce. I will likely eat here again before returning home.

Diner Review №40

This is one of the best places in San Antonio to get some Thai food. Me and my friend came in at about 8:30pm on our way to a concert. They greeted us with a smile and said that they had no problem serving us. Our waitress was very lovely and attentive. I just enjoy everything about this place and a lot of restaurants could learn from them. Thank you for being professional and the food is always great.

Diner Review №41

Yummy and tasty Thai food! 😋 Perfect balance of spices. We tried the Tom Kha soup, which had enough quantity to share among 3 to 4 people. Good service. Highly recommended! ..will return

Diner Review №42

I love the aesthetics of this place, and the food is always fantastic. The owner knows her stuff when it comes to gluten free food! The portions are a good size, and all the boba drinks are amazing. I’m still working my way through all the flavors they offer.

Diner Review №43

Diner Review №44

Food, service, and the atmosphere was amazing!! Boom was an amazing server, took care of all our needs and a smile never left her face, will come back InshaAllah!!

Diner Review №45

I bought a few things for my delivery but I just want to write a review about the mango sticky rice. I’m sorry but it was so disappointing. The rice is so dry and the amount of coconut sauce is baffling. Mango sticky rice is a coconut sauce based dessert so I don’t understand why the rice was dry & mushy. I really wish you guys added more coconut sauce and cooked the rice better. I saw a review that said y’all add too much coconut sauce and that’s crazy because they barely had any on theirs. There should be an option to have it on the side or something. Idk

Diner Review №46

Well, I've ordered some food to go before from this place before and it was OK. Decided to try it one more time. First of all, I really would like to see prices on the menu. I ordered 2 chicken and shrimp pad thai's to go. Employees are friendly, but looks like being disoriented a little bit. Food......some chicken and 2 21-25 size shrimp and 3 pounds of noodles. Just a little bit under 40$ for 2 portions. Not enough flavor.

Diner Review №47

Diner Review №48

Unfortunately, today on 11/17/24 was the worst customer service I have ever experienced there for the first time. I was seated for about 15 minutes and still no one had taken my order. Its not the restaurant; its the crew they had running the show at this time. Very poor communication.

Diner Review №49

Sar outside on a nice day. Wait staff was super friendly.

We had edamame which was cooked perfectly and Pad-see-ew. The noodles were good but I wish the dish was more smokey in flavor from a wok.

Diner Review №50

It was one of the best Thai restaurants in San Antonio. The food was amazing. As a Thai, I couldn't stop eating 😂 the one that I recommend the most is pork belly. I don't know the name but it's like fried vegetables with Basil on top with pork belly. ฟินลื้ม ❤️

Diner Review №51

Top notch service, quality, consistency and great lunch specials. Food is always spectacular and the Thai Tea is THE BEST in the city.

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

I ordered my food and was really frustrated with the fact that my entire order imof fried spring rolls included 2 nasty wilted small peices of lettuce to wrap the roll in. Of course the requested utensils would have been great since I didn't have anything to use. But I have to say I was disappointed all the way around. They use to be so good and so on top of it, but over the last few years they just continue to get a little worse.

Diner Review №54

First time at Tong's, and it didn't disappoint. Surprisingly, we happened to come in time for the lunch specials, so we went ahead and made our choice from the various specials that all sounded great, and for $9.99, it was an easy decision. The food was fresh and very tasty. Try the Thai hot sauce if you want 🔥🔥🔥. So good! Happy we found this place. Update: I'm a regular now. The Thai sauce has me back for more at least monthly 🌶🌶🌶😋

Diner Review №55

Thai tea and Thai coffee were so delicious!

Special beef and red curry were also amazing!!!

Diner Review №56

Came to enjoy dinner with the family. Very disappointed with the service tonight. Restaurant wasn't busy at all. No excuse for the servers behavior.

Diner Review №57

Where do I begin? The menu could be considered overwhelming with all the amazing choices. We started with spring rolls (fresh not fried) and they were huge with all fresh ingredients. Had the crepes which were filled with chicken, shrimp and veggies which was massive! Not finger food! Had the tongs bowl with chicken, again fresh and huge portions. Got the khay soy and the sauce was thick, filling and just a great flavor. Want to try about 10 other dishes so we will be back!

Diner Review №59

I’m a vegan so I was hesitant about coming here, but so glad I did! Staff was efficient, patient, and attentive. I didn’t get a picture of my entree but was the Kang Ped curry with mock duck. They were also kind enough to make a Thai iced tea with almond milk instead of heavy cream for me. Food was definitely worth it! I didn’t know the portion sizes would be so big, so I took half of it home. If I had just gotten the curry, it would be cheaper than what I spent lol. Can’t wait to enjoy at home!

Diner Review №62

Worst Thai food I have ever had. The sauces were all bad. Egg rolls were bad too. We had the Massaman Curry and Chicken Pad Thai. The pad Thai was bland with no sauce and the Massaman Curry was off. The fresh rolls had only one shrimp in each roll. I have eaten Thai food all over the country and I was very disappointed in this place, especially after reading the raving reviews before ordering.

Diner Review №63

One of my favorites for Thai food. If you like it spicy, they bring the heat! But they do alter the levels for those that like it less spicy.

Diner Review №64

Diner Review №65

Looks dirty and the food are too spicy, I could taste the food. Order clam dish and there are more clam shells that meat, waitress are rude and the tap water they served is dirty just like the place.

Diner Review №66

Came to Tongs Thai for the first time during lunch. The atmosphere was very nice and so were all of the workers. The food was good but I want to try more dishes. I had the basil chicken and my coworker had a beef plate. I loved our egg drop soup. Only real negative is parking. I wish this establishment had more parking.

Diner Review №67

Waitress was rude.

Diner Review №68

Delicious food (especially the Pad Thai). Fast, friendly service. Reasonably priced.

Very nice place, I went with my sister and we got two appetizers with our food before realizing how big the portions are 😅 staff are very friendly and I personally have a pretty strong sensitivity to gluten and they were very knowledgeable, I would definitely come back

Diner Review №78

I used to go here years ago when I lived in San Antonio and it was called Dang's. The food is a bit different but still tasty.

Diner Review №79

I give 5 stars because it is very good my family enjoys the food. I also like the food. I did have 2 separate issues one time my daughter bought soup and rice she bring to me and the rice was separate from the soup it had a hair, the next time we dinner inside the restaurant and my daughter's soup had a piece of wire on a noodle. I and my family will continue to be valued customers. Just please try to cleaner. Thank you

Diner Review №81

Excellent food, we usually get it to go, and sit outside and enjoy the beautiful koi pond n waterfall while we wait for our food

Diner Review №82

Sooooooo good

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

Delicious food but they charge extra for sauces to go with the food.

Diner Review №85

I do Uber/Doordash sometimes. The service when I go in to pick up those orders is always really great. They're very quick too. Finally decided to try the food for myself and I was honestly disappointed. The pad Thai had really no flavor and all of the noodles were severely stuck together. I ordered them at a medium spice and spice level was good but that was really the only thing you could get from the noodles. The chicken was super dry as well. Almost like this was more of leftovers rather than fresh. I also ordered the egg drop soup and again it was just lacking any kind of flavor. I honestly didn't even eat it and I just ended up going to get food elsewhere after already spending money here.

Diner Review №86

This awesome thai spot has some of the best curry I have ever had. This last time I had the panang at the Thai Hot spice level (the spiciest available). It had great flavor and the pork was excellent. I also had a fried spring role as an appetizer. It came out hot and was awesome. To wash it down I had a SINGHA Thai beer. Great place to take your friends, coworkers, or spouse to.

Diner Review №87

This place does not disappoint! Tried the Pad Thai, Fried Spring Rolls and Smoked Brisket fried rice. Everything was flavor explosion and fresh. I will be coming back soon!

Diner Review №88

Loved the food, really flavorful. People are friendly. It can get packed. The smoked brisket fried rice was a tasty mix of south texas and thai!

Diner Review №89

Love this place 💕 the food is great and the outside seating is great around a koi pond and vegetation. This is another business COVID changed to a much greater percentage of take out service. Enjoy 😊 🏆
As promised bathroom rating as we agree a good indication of the owner or managers alignment with perfection and Cleanliness.
This place is A-plus !!!

Diner Review №91

Edit: Well, it got worse, again. Last time we went, we were seated next to a table saw. WTH. We had to demand to be moved, although you could still hear it throughout lunch service. Service is still slow, except that when someone does appear, they're in too much of a hurry to acknowledge you. Staff are obviously not happy. Good luck getting refills or a second beer. Food is great, but nothing special for the price, which is higher than other Thai places nearby. My colleagues and my family refuse to eat here anymore and I agree. It's a shame after decades of being one of my favorite places, but Tong's is no bueno. Thai Curry and Mon's are both far better options, to the right and left, respectively, on Broadway as you approach from Tong's.

Seriously, Tong's, what is the point of constant remodeling if y'all only want to do takeout? Also, if takeout is the new focus, why are my to go orders messed up like 50% of the time? Is 25% too low a tip for decent service now? Are y'all just laundering money now like a high end Fred's Fish Fry? What is wrong over there? I'll miss my extra spicy Basil Bowl but I'm not coming back. 😪

6/2024: I've returned and the service and food are better. The service is still somewhat inattentive but I can get my drinks ordered. I have to flag staff down, though, instead of relying on them to check in. Certainly, they're not quick to notice that you need something on their own. The food has become consistently good, again. It also comes quickly. However, I've only visited at lunch after my last dinner visit (review below). I've left it because I can't say whether dinner service has improved or not.

Prior review: The food is still mostly great and the new remodel looks good. However, the atmosphere is affected by the takeout table piled with orders and positioned in the dining room and the service has declined. Obviously, takeout is the priority now, because our service was extremely slow, while takeout orders flew out of the kitchen.

We waited on menus, none of which have prices. Only the online menu has prices. Dishes were brought and set in a pile. Food came much later. For some reason, staff kept taking condiments off the tables, even though we were still eating. We waited a very long time for our bill and longer for the bubble teas we ordered.

I felt like we were being rushed as the table was constantly being bussed but then we waited forever at every stage of the meal for what we needed. The only thing they were efficient about was refilling my kids' sodas without asking, so none of them ate their food. Meanwhile, I gave up trying to get another round for my wife and myself. Overall, it was clear that we weren't important enough to compete with the customers who didn't care to dine in, even though we were ordering alcohol.

As far as the food, it was mostly up to the standard you'd expect at Tong's. The pineapple fried rice was good. Crab Supreme had plenty of crab and my wife lived it. The lo mein my son ordered was bland, but I've never had it at Tong's before, he enjoyed it. The Tom Yam seemed to have white mushrooms not straw mushrooms, which isn't as advertised. My Basil Bowl was not great, however. The sauce was runny and the noodles overcooked to the point that I couldn't eat them, even with a fork and spoon. They just sorta fell apart. I've had this dish dozens of times. This was not right. I would've said something but by the time I got any service, my kids were tired and it wouldn't have been fair to make everyone wait even longer for me to get decent food. Basically, it was easier to give up.

I love Tong's but it will be a long time before I return for dinner. They're not the only game in town, anymore. There are half a dozen other Thai restaurants within a 5 minute drive and they actually seem pleased to have us. For the first time, I can say I really didn't enjoy Tong's Thai. In fact, it soured our whole evening.

Diner Review №92

This has been a staple in my family for many years! So many delicious recommendations I wouldn’t know where to start! The Noodle Soup with veggies and beef are delicious. Especially when you’re sick 🤒 also, the Basil Bowl (really spicy) and the Pad Khi Mao are my top favorite noodles dishes. Amazingly kind service and just overall a great restaurant. They never disappoint! 🙏🏼

Diner Review №93

Food was over cooked I got Singapore noodles before at other places and never had them over cooked and slimy this was my 1st n last time going here..
..

Diner Review №94

Best Thai food and dessert I’ve ever had👍

Diner Review №95

Very lovely place. I would like to sit down but I ordered takeout and the food was delicious!! Will definitely be back. The spring rolls were fat and the Chicken Satay was so flavorful. My bf had the Pa Nang curry and it was delicious, definitely recommend. Also the Thai tea was the perfect tea and milk combo and it wasn't too sweet. I would love to try the fried bananas!

Diner Review №96

Best all around, ive been a fan of this place since i was a kid. Kudos to the owners :)

Diner Review №97

We ordered off the lunch menu. It was delicious.

Diner Review №98

FYI, this is the first time I’ve seen a restaurant charge a to-go packaging fee.

Diner Review №99

Amazing 👏 be careful of the spice levels 👌 crazy hot 🔥

Diner Review №100

Tong's Thai provided an exceptional dining experience! I ordered the Spring Roll and Massaman Curry, and both dishes exceeded my expectations. The fusion of Thai and Indian flavors in the Massaman Curry was particularly impressive, offering a unique and delicious twist that I absolutely loved. It was the perfect choice for my first meal at Tong's Thai.

I visited the restaurant for a going-away party, and although there was an issue with our reservation, the staff quickly and graciously accommodated our group without any hassle. This level of service truly set the tone for a memorable evening.

The food arrived promptly, and every member of our party received exactly what they ordered, which is always a relief when dining with a large group. The attentive service continued throughout our meal, with our drinks being refilled regularly without any interruptions to our conversations.

To top it all off, the restaurant thoughtfully packaged our leftovers in high-quality to-go containers, making it easy for us to enjoy the delicious food later. Overall, Tong's Thai delivered an outstanding experience, from the incredible food to the exceptional service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a welcoming atmosphere.

Diner Review №101

Really good Thai. Fresh, flavorful, good portion sizes. Really happy with my decision to eat here!

Diner Review №102

I got the combination pad Thai dinner serving.

It was tofu, shrimp, and chicken, they gave me lots and lots of tofu, a few pieces of chicken AND ONE shrimp. And I paid extra for the shrimp. It wasn’t bad I just thought that was kindve stingy 😒 lol

Diner Review №103

We love this place and I will give the outside dining a five-star review I'm not wild about sitting inside. Now, for the food... We drive across town for the fried spring rolls. I've looked at many other restaurants closer and none are like this. This is a standard for San Antonio!

Diner Review №104

This place is amazing!!!! I had been striking out for months. The Thai Tea (didn’t get pic was too good) was amazing along with the combination lo mein, Panang chicken, spring roll and seafood and peppers.

If you’re someone that’s an experienced Thai food eater you will appreciate this place.

If new to Thai food this place will make a great first stop

However be warned most places are not as good as this place!!

10/10 my new fav spot

The food is great! That said, they seem to be having an issue with weevils—twice in a row, the mango sticky rice has been laden with weevils and larva 🤢definitely disappointing.

Diner Review №109

We have driven by Tong's Thai probably 30 times in the last year since moving to San Antonio and always said we would try it out.

Well we finally did and it was absolutely delicious. The service was great, and the food was even better! Great prices on all their menu items (and there are A TON) and you'll definitely have some room for a second dinner later on.

We've been back three times in the last couple of weeks and it keeps getting better each time. Be sure to try their amazing boba 🧋 drinks

Diner Review №116

The amount of food is worth the money. We ordered red curry & pad thai it was delicious and tasty.

Diner Review №117

I hope your food makes up for your horrible attitudes. Every employee's attitude is horrible especially management. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid

Diner Review №118

Diner Review №119

Honestly I don’t care what anyone says this place is one of THE BEST thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. And is definitely on par with traditional thai food, even though they offer some non-traditional items ( sushi and etc. ) they still execute the dishes amazingly. Been going here around 6-7 years, and make the 3.5 hour drive whenever I can. Top dishes are definitely their papaya salad, Tom yum soup, and pad seew. Also amazingly is their thai tea, that stuff is honestly soooo good I always to go a couple cups to take home.

Diner Review №120

The food was great! We ordered 2 pad thais which were delicious and one panang curry. The Kai Yang SomTom Special's chicken was a little dry but the salad was good!

Diner Review №121

I wish I lived closer to Tong's so I could eat it more often. Every time I come here I have a great experience. Great staff and amazing food. As someone who goes to Thailand frequently I give it a 10/10!

Diner Review №122

Ordered for pick up and they were really quick. My mom was a fan of the tom kha soup.

Diner Review №123

Ordered delivery through Uber eats. The Panang Curry is EXCELLENT!! Also ordered a Blended Taro Root Bubble Tea and it is honestly top tier in taste and texture. My daughter is an Egg Drop Soup connoisseur and she highly approved of theirs. I’m so glad I chose to order from them!!!

Diner Review №124

Great lunch place. Many choices. Tasty

Diner Review №125

Hidden gem for sure ! The food is amazing .. definitely authentic and best Thai curry I’ve had outside of Thailand . WHEN I TELL YOU sooo goood ! massaman curry with the roti + green curry ‼️😍 SOOO GOOD ( we will be back )

Diner Review №126

Diner Review №127

After getting a pineapple fried rice with only the hard parts of the pineapple, I asked just for a small portion of fresh pineapples. Instead, the manager very sweetly offered to replace the whole plate. The new one plate was delicious!!

Diner Review №128

We love this restaurant! It has one of the most beautiful patios in the city. The food was yummy, and the service was excellent.

Diner Review №129

Tiger cry is a must try! Beef is so thin and tender.

Diner Review №130

I ordered the Thai tea, chicken Sa-Tay, chicken massaman curry, and mango sticky rice for dessert. It was all really good and the service was excellent!

Diner Review №131

Delicious food

Diner Review №132

Has a sign outside that says, "voted best Thai food" that clearly is a lie! Definitely had better and I probably won't return to this spot.

Diner Review №133

Just tried the Pad Thai and it was complete mush it looked like baby food and had no spice at all. Very disappointed in my meal I didn’t even eat it and it was expensive. Added the provided hot sauce and it did it no favors. Don’t go here if you expect consistency.

Diner Review №134

This is the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever eaten at! A Thai chef made me Singapore noodles about 15 years ago and I’ve been searching for good ones ever since and Tong’s was exactly what I wanted!! It was amazing! We also had the Chiang Mai noodles, Thai tea and Thai coffee, and mango sticky rice. I’ll be back anytime we visit San Antonio. 10 stars.

Diner Review №136

Saturday night, there is ample seating. The building looks smaller than it is, but the food has BIG flavor!! The menu is extensive and varied, including Tha, Chinese and Sushi.

Diner Review №137

Came here after a few years and wished we didn't. To sum it up, small portions (proteins) HIGE prices and less than mediocre food. Avoid!!!

Diner Review №138

Everything was great. I look forward to going again!

Diner Review №139

This was my first time here so I’ll give the full experience. We walked in and waited maybe 5 mins to sit. The host was nice and notified our waitress as soon as he saw us. Our waitress was amazing! We didn’t catch her name but it was the really sweet woman with the braces. She made us feel so welcomed and had an amazing warm energy. Once our order was taken, we were notified that the kitchen was really behind and thanking us for our patience. Even with the kitchen being behind we only waited about 25-30 min for our food. So not a long wait at all! Now as far as out food, I’ve been to several Thai restaurants and a few really good ones too, but this was hands down the best Thai food I’ve had! We got the beef curry fried rice and the Tom Kha soup. The portions were pretty large and good for two unless you have an abnormal appetite. The fried rice was perfect! The amount of curry wasn’t overpowering at all and it was flavored to perfection. The Tom Kha was also nothing short of amazing. The chicken and veggies are perfectly cooked and we finished it down to the bowl lol overall this place is amazing and currently my favorite Thai place!

This place is amazing! I love the Pad Se-Ew. I like to add crush peanuts and green onions to mine. They have a good variety of teas. I personally prefer the ginger lime tea.

The staff is amazing. When you walk into the restaurant, it feel like you are experiencing another culture. Highly recommend trying this place.

Love this place. It's a hidden gem. We've always been seated promptly. Service has always been great. I always get the Haw-Mok. Wife always gets beef and basil or chicken and basil with extra veggies.

Very good service! Very wonderful food the best!!! Love it!!!

Good food, only odd thing was that I asked for a lemon with my water - was told that they were out of lemons. Then, my husband's meal was served with a lemon slice. Like I said, not a big deal but it just seemed weird to me. Will still be coming back!

Diner Review №163

Pregnant & was craving pad thai. Saw they had decent reviews & were one of the few still open on doordash so I decided to try it out. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered a medium spicy beef pad thai & a thai tea boba. The boba was so overcooked you could swallow it after one bite. the thai tea was good though. the beef pad thai wasn't that spicy, it definitely didn't taste like authentic pad thai & the noodles were so overcooked they were clumped together. I got food poisoning from here. The ingredients didn't taste expired, maybe the beef? Definitely wouldn't come back for other things or recommend.

We had the pad thai and papaya salad. All of it was delicious! The Thai tea with boba was a great dessert after all the food!

Tongs thai has always been my go-to for quality food and service!

Diner Review №166

Absolutely love this restaurant. They've been in San Antonio for ages so they've had decades to perfect their food, service, and atmosphere. Beautiful seating both indoors and outdoors with a serene koi pond and greenery. Indoors is soft colorful lighting with gorgeous Asian statues and a lively yet comforting atmosphere. I don't know how many dishes I've eaten here but every single one has been amazing and priced so moderately. That said, their CURRY is easily the best in San Antonio.

The staff is incredibly friendly! The food and atmosphere are incredible, and I'm never disappointed!

The hot and sour soup is the best in san antonio, in my opinion!

Not a thing to write home about!
Ordered 4 items. Cost: $72.
Pad Thai was a mess. Just did not have that classic taste one looks for in this dish.
The curry dish was decent, except the beef tasted a little funky.
Overall, I was disappointed, especially at this price point.
I’ve learned not to order online unless I’ve been there as a sit down patron prior.

The food was a little slow coming out, but it was absolutely worth it once it arrived. We had fried Gyoza (dumplings), wings, and the Seafood Combination. We choose to sit outside because it was warm, but once the sun went down the patio became quite chilly. Still, it was a wonderful experience during our trip and the staff was extremely courteous.

I found this place when I became a Favor Runner a few years back. I went in there for lunch the other day and one of the staff remembered me from when I used to do deliveries. It's always a warm, welcoming environment no matter the time of day. I forgot to get a Boba tea on my last visit but I'll be back soon.

I had the fried rice lunch special. I didn't take any pics, I was too hungry lol. Everything was hot and fresh as always. My friend had the land combo fried rice and recommended that I should try that next.

Diner Review №190

It was a beautiful restaurant with nice decor, but the waitress seemed as if she was rushing us to make our orders and wouldn’t give us much time to decide, the food came out and the noodles were over cooked and the pad Thai tasted sour! We have enjoyed pad Thai many times and understood the flavor profile but was told it was bc of traditional Thai flavors as to why the food seemed rancid. Although the manager did try to rectify the situation the over explaining of Thai flavors left us feeling uneasy about allowing the kitchen the make anything else. Wouldn’t recommend visiting. Also no kid menu!!

The fried spring rolls are Devine, I have dreams about them! Thank You to the Tongs staff for always being excellent!

Very flavourful tasty food. Everything is homemade from sirracha to coconut ice-cream. So, really good quality flavorful food. Papaya Salad Thai style is really really nice. Try Red curry very balanced. Servers are really friendly. Coconut bubble tea is super tasty!
