The reviews are so misleading and thought I would give it a try but was so disappointed . The food did not seem to be prepared fresh as all the veggies were soggy. I ordered chicken lo-mein and it had NO taste, no seasoning or sauce on it. The fried rice was oily and the spicy eggplant wasn’t spices and the veggies seemed old. I really miss the old Thai restaurant that was consistent and cooked your food fresh. The only thing I enjoyed was the spring rolls. DUSSIT THAI had been the BEST thai place! Also, I’m a huge energy person and the hostess/waitress seemed inconvenienced by me entering to place a to-go order-poor customer service. I do NOT recommend.

WORST service ever they pick & choose who they want to take care of , as a server there attitude & lack of good service towards me & my fiancé makes me never want to come here again. As a diabetic as well i sat without anything to drink for about 25 minutes & they dropped off our food about 40 minutes later then never checked on us. We have eaten here twice now and plan to become regulars. We’ve tried and loved the red curry, sushi, pad Thai, Tiger Beef salad, rice paper rolls w peanut sauce and for a b’day celebration, they brought out their hot home-made doughnuts w condensed milk — crazy good. Highly recommend you visit and support this casual, yet warm and inviting establishment. I want to try everything!

The pad Thai here is fantastic. We have also ordered the fried rice, sushi, and curry and have loved every dish they make. One of the best Thai restaurants we have tried in Nashville.

I love this restaurant! The food is very fresh! The spring rolls in rice paper with shrimp and peanut sauce are some of the best I have had! The coconut soup is also noteworthy. Shocker: they make great cocktails! Perfectly paired with the food!

I liked the sushi, soup, and salad. The food was fresh. The sushi held together very well, some places it fell apart too easy and made a big mess.

My wife and myself had been frequent diners at this establishment, however last night we decided to go and have dinner there and was expecting excellence in food and service as we have always had, however our experience last night was subpar at best. We ordered orange chicken that tasted as of it had been cooked with other meats and had a taste of burnt steak with considerably smaller portion than our previous visit and I was told it's because the rice paper is larger giving the appearance of a smaller portion by a male that worked there not to mention the female waitress that acted as if we were a problem to serve. The 2 orders of crab Rangoons tasted as if they had been refried several times and we were give a new order by the same male worker to correct this issue. In the end we paid $60 for this. Not worth the money don't go here as a first choice. We are very dissapointed as the level of service and quality of food was far below what we have experienced multiple times before. Not sure what's going on here but for the owner of this business you need to get your act together if you plan on serving in this hard economic time with this business

We were visiting The Hermitage and felt like Asian food for lunch afterwards. This place is EXCELLENT! The food is fresh, well-executed, and nicely presented. The menu is diverse and you can see and taste the attention to detail and high quality ingredients.

Umami Thai is a wonderful restaurant! They were great when they were Dusit Thai, and they've made major improvements to the atmosphere since changing their name. However, the food has remained the freshest and best Thai food in town. I've enjoyed this place over the years, and I highly recommend trying it!

Best Thai food in Middle Tennessee and best Panang Curry I have EVER had! So much flavor. I wasn’t able to get our waiters name unfortunately, but he was incredible and his recommendations were spot on. Our 1.5 year old daughter was getting a little antsy and he brought her food out so quickly without us even having to ask! My husband loved his Katsu ramen and our daughter loved her chicken fried rice. The ambience was great, too! We can’t wait to come back!

One of my go to places for dinner. Great food and a very nice staff. The atmosphere is nice, and it's a perfect option for quick takeout. I'm not sure why some people mention the portion size. Perhaps it depends on the dish, but I always get Pad Thai and easily get two meals out of it.

Flavor was amazing! I had chicken curry stir-fry and two Unagi rolls. 26.00 While taste was amazing, there was minimal chicken in dish. Like other reviews I agree the portions were on the small side. I left still very much hungry. If they increased portions and quantity of each ingredient, not just add more rice, I think it would have been 10/10. As it sits now, the price point combined with small portions give it 3 stars for me and a low chance of return sadly.

I love this place. I currently live in Antioch, but my job is in Hermitage. I've ordered lunch from Umami, twice so far, and was satisfied each time. The staff is friendly and professional. &the food is delicious. I would definitely reccommend!

Amazing Service, Amazing People and Amazing Food!!

Place looked clean, server was nice and consistent but the food was gross. The pat Thai smelled literally like dog food. The sushi made my wife throw up right after. But that’s not the worst part. I of course refused to pay for my meal do to it smelling like dog food and not eating anything on my plate. The owner followed me in to Kroger to confront me on why I thought the food was bad. I explained to him my opinion and he got mad. When I was finished in Kroger he was outside and started starring at me while I loaded my truck with groceries. I felt very harassed. I don’t recommend this restaurant do to him harassing me while I was shopping.

When it comes to Thai, I would consider myself well diversed. I've ordered 2xs from this resturant, both to-go orders. Curry each time, I was pleased (except I asked swap out one veggie for another - and each time is was not done). 2nd time ordered was to-go order as well and was high monetary amount. I ordered a lot so I could have left overs the next day and a diveresity of entrees to feed 3. Fried Calamari was a disappointment. Very mininum amount given and the rings were no bigger than a quarter - I won't buy again. When you think Orange Chicken, you'd think you get about the same quanity as any other establishment. This was not the case. Chunks of chicken was minuinum, small nuggets and barely teasers on a plate - I will not buy again. Thai Ice Tea - water down colored water with a huge splash of cream. I also put in a request for light ice - it was filled to the top. Maybe took 5 sips and it was gone - I will not buy again. Above is not all I ordered, but out of the 5 items I did, so far I will only recommend their Curry.

This has got to be one of the best if not the best kept secret of Hermitage. I honestly hope that changes soon. The food here is immaculate from the fresh ingredients to the prepared per order style cooking. The sushi pieces are huge and perfect. The ramen and curry are exceptional as well. Whatever you get, make sure you start with Crab Rangoon, best I've ever had.

Select your spice level to meet your needs from a very diverse menu. Admittedly, I choose mild and that's perfect for me. The new sushi bar is upscale and has a nice selection of options. The owners have redone the interior, and it's bright and clean with beautiful murals on the walls. The menu is extensive, and everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and extremely flavorful. Service was excellent. We will be regulars now for sure!

Best Thai I’ve had in a long time!! Googled Thai when I was out running errands and this placed popped up. Decided to give it a try and I’m glad we did! Service was quick and very friendly. We got pad Thai chicken, Philadelphia roll and a Thai tea to split between my daughter and I. They were all great. Best pad Thai I’ve had in our area! The staff was so sweet with my daughter and brought her our special chop sticks and made the experience fun! Decor is updated and everything looks clean!

Great fusion restaurant with a lot of choices. It was perfect for our large family group. There were choices for various food needs. Everyone left satisfied: Vegetarian, gluten free, and even us omnivores.

I had the red curry bento box which came with a bowl of curry, rice, a spring roll, a dumpling and a small California roll. This place is amazing! I am a Thai food fan, but never have I had thai food this FLAVORFUL! Highly recommend this restaurant for not only the food (taste and portions), but the atmosphere too. I ordered basil fried rice with my adjustments and forgot to mention “no eggs”. Well I realized when I got the container and asked the waiter, Rocky, that I forgot to mention this piece but I don’t eat eggs. Before I could continue he took the container and tells me they can make another one for me!!! He really didn’t have to do this, but I appreciate him and the gesture so much! Fantastic service, amazing food, beautiful ambiance and great company. What more could you ask for!?
