The Thai House on Bultman has excellent Red Curry Chicken. Definitely ask for double chicken, because there isn't much in the regular serving.
The staff is very friendly and very good at remembering regular customers.
The restaurant is always clean and has a cozy atmosphere. The price is definitely up there. For four people you'll spend at least $50-60, depending on if you are getting drinks.
The one dish I wouldn't recommend is the Tom Yum soup. It's very bland. But the Volcano Fish more than makes up for that.
This place has been a favorite for years and they never disappoint on any of their food. The price has gone up over the years, but all places have. Highly recommend
I enjoy the food. I don’t like that they have not updated the online menu since I’ve been coming here for 2 years now. I ordered a volcano roll and salmon roll from the “alleged” online menu. When I got to the store what I thought would be $20 was $37+.
I asked why they can’t take pictures of the current menu and post the prices, and the lady acted like I was being absurd. They gave me a togo menu, but those prices weren’t current either.
Don’t insult my intelligence, or play with my money.
I was hoping with a 4.3 the food would have been much better. I have to agree with the fact that their portion sizes are wayyy too small for full price entrees. The chicken pad woon sen was actually pretty good aside from huge pieces of whole green onion. However, you better order three orders if your eating it alone for dinner. We liked the spicy level we ordered. That calamari was a full price appetizer and you had as much sauce as calamari and it was ok at best. Not very good. We got four greasy spring rolls in the wet and greasy open brown paper bag. My thai tea to-go was a styrofoam cup with about 75% ice and a little tea. Lastly, their menu prices are not true or accurate. My husband paid about a whole 12 dollars more than menu prices plus tax. Sadly, this was our first time and I don't think we will be back. They have the potential to be way better and definitely give people their money worth of food. 3/5 was for the decent taste and spice of our entrees.
Small place, great atmosphere, wonderful hand-rolled sushi, great food. My son got pad thai and requested it be hot (not thai hot!) - he loved it, a bit too much for me! Highly recommend!!
If you like flavorful food and fresh sushi, Thai House is the place for you! We started with the Tai Tea. It was creamy and delicious. For appetizers, we tried the spring rolls and the chicken Gyoza. The spring rolls were delicious and stuffed to the brim with veggies. The Gyoza were perfect- lightly fried on the bottom and full of flavor. The dipping sauce was the icing on the cake. The sushi combo came with Miso soup. The soup was chalk full of onions, seaweed, and pieces of tofu. The broth was much tastier than others we've tried; You could taste the fresh herbs. The sushi combo came with 8 pieces of California roll, 6 pieces of Nigiri, and 8 pieces of Sashimi. Everything was perfectly chilled and delicious. The variety of seafood pieces was great. The last thing we tried was the potato, carrot, and onion yellow curry with shrimp. The flavor of the curry was complex and herby, with just the right amount of heat. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the shrimp. The curry was served with a bowl of sticky rice. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely go back.
This place has been a favorite for years and they never disappoint on any of their food. The price has gone up over the years, but all places have. Highly recommend
Best Thai food, best staff. We are weekly regulars.
You'll never get sushi this tasty besides here at Thai House
The food is according to taste. Sometimes the food is amazing

The food had a good flavor, but I was still hungry when I left. The portions have gotten smaller and the prices have gone up a lot. We go to Columbia and get more food for $5 less per person.
Underwhelming, but not bad. They had a few regular customers. Place was moderately spacious, if not a bit claustrophobic by the front door. Menu was unfortunately very large and kinda of confusing. Noodles were okay, a bit greasy for me. Sushi was okay, bland. It was probably my basic af selections that resulted in the blandness. Prices were a bit steep for both regular menu items and sushi. 15.99 minimum. Sodas were from 16oz bottles and 3 bucks a pop. I know independent businesses charge a bit more so I was happy to pay, but certainly not worth the price. I would possibly try again but definitely make different selections. Staff was friendly but you could definitely tell they were ready to close for the day. Give them a try if you're in the mood or nearby.
The Thai House: A Culinary Gem
Having journeyed from coast to coast across this vast country, I can confidently declare that nowhere has surpassed the culinary delight that is The Thai House. Nestled in a quaint corner, this restaurant consistently delivers an experience that tantalizes the senses and warms the heart.
The chefs at The Thai House are nothing short of magicians, crafting dishes that are both visually stunning and incredibly flavorful. Their dedication to authenticity is evident in every bite, making each meal a genuine Thai experience. For those with dietary preferences, their vegan options are exemplary, showcasing creativity and a deep understanding of flavors that cater to all palates.
Sushi lovers will find themselves in heaven with the impeccable selection available. Each piece is a testament to the chefs' skill and the freshness of the ingredients. However, my personal favorite is the Pad Kee Maw. This dish, with its perfectly balanced spices and textures, exemplifies the culinary mastery found at The Thai House.
For those who crave a true spicy adventure, the option to make your order Thai hot is a game-changer. Unlike many places that shy away from real heat, The Thai House embraces it, providing a spice level that will satisfy even the most ardent chili enthusiasts.
Every visit to The Thai House is a journey back to the heart of Thailand, a reminder of the vibrant and complex flavors that define its cuisine. If you seek authenticity, unparalleled taste, and a dining experience that never disappoints, look no further than The Thai House.
Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. They bend over backwards to please.
Prices are very reasonable.
Always a great experience here. The wait staff and kitchen staff are so kind. The food is always so fresh and fabulous. We ordered spring rolls, Cali roll and shrimp temora roll.
Ordered the massaman curry dish. It was delicious. The only reason for the 3 stars is because they are so skimpy on the rice. The rice portion is so little, I had none left with a third of my dish still remaining. When I complained, I was told that I could get more for a $4 charge which I felt was ridiculous, so I politely declined. Their portions are generally not proportionate with their prices.
Depressing decor. Atmosphere is more uplifting at a funeral. Chicken pad thai has 2 pieces of chicken. Shrimp pad thai has 3 pieces of shrimp. The noodles in both dishes are clumped from being over cooked.
Our 3 sushi rolls are boring at best. No creativity or pride in their work. A Panda Express opening in this town would kill this restaurant within a month.
Thai flavors and authenticity! When I want Thai I go to a "Thai House" restaurant. Many cities we visit have had this brand. When it comes to experiencing Thai food, if that's what you want, it doesn't get more authentic than this, nor more tasty. A Thai House restaurant is my first choice for Thai food anytime and every time.
I realize businesses are struggling on different levels but this was definitely the worst Thai food experience I've ever had. I ordered the Panang Curry dish and it was the weirdest blend of low budget vegetables ever, the broth did not taste like traditional Panang flavors, then it was filled with mostly raw green beans, huge chunks of raw carrots all of which were absolutely flavorless. The broth tasted watered down 🥺 I was so disappointed, one of my favorite Thai dishes. My date had a glass noodle dish that turned out to be angel hair pasta and even though the flavors were a bit better he ended up pouring off what seemed like a whole nother soup that he wasnt expecting. I sent the Panang back and got a Pad Thai instead, the flavor was better but it was just noddles topped with crushed peanuts, no onions, no veggies, nothing, very one dimensional. And at the end I paid basically $50 for this very disappointing experience. I think they may be used to the southern locals who don't know what authentic Thai food taste like. Do better Thai House. The End.
Food did not match the price.
Love the Thai House! Sushi is the best in town. The owner and servers are super nice and funny! Atmosphere is great. Building could use some cosmetic updates and cleaning, other than that, great place!
Thai House is always a good choice. Their food is really good but we usually go for sushi. Their sushi is the best in town and could go up against places in larger cities. Owners are wonderful and do everything they can to make sure your food and experience are great.
Since I’ve heard good things, I’ll try again at a later date, but as a general rule of thumb and customer service, don’t lock your door before your projected closing time if you want to keep guests out, specifically 35mins prior with guests still inside who make direct eye contact with someone stating outside. Not sure if It was racial, poor customer service, or just rudeness but if you want to close at 9:30PM UPDATE THE WEBSITE AND BIG SIGN ON YOUR DOOR.
Some of the best Thai I've had and the owners are really hospitable!
Absolutely amazing, high quality Thai Cuisine. Amazingly friendly and kind wait staff.
Reasonable prices and portion sizes.
We will definitely return.
I was disappointed with my take out pho. The packaging was all off for me. Asked for chili garlic sauce they didn’t have it or didn’t want me to have it. If I didn’t already have a love for Thai food this would have definitely turn me away. Will not be going back
Small town Thai spot with friendly owners and good food. Definitely the best in sumter, the others can’t even hold a candle to this place! The owner and his family are what make this a great spot, they’re always so kind and friendly. This place is very kid friendly!
Delicious rice and noodle dishes, my family have eaten here weekly for years and years!
They don’t mind special requests such as not adding onions, etc. Owners and staff are always welcoming and friendly too.
Food was okay to me but I've heard great things about them so I'm going to give them another shot in the future. I order crunch roll and shrimp Pad Thai.
I love this place! The lady working the front is very nice and bubbly. The sushi is my absolute favorite although I got some sashimi this time and there were a few pieces that seemed off, like they had been bad/expired. I think I’ll steer from the sashimi items for a bit but aside from that I love all of their food. The usual sushi rolls are SO GOOD!
Love there food. Excellent
Food was delicious and service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back!
The people are so nice and the food is excellent. I made a special request for my little great niece, and they granted it. The gentleman there only had one question. He asked if my niece was happy. I said yes and showed him a picture of my niece smiling. He said, "That's all that matters." What nice folks. I told my family that the hospitality we experienced was like what I experienced in Thailand. We will definitely return.
A True Thai Restaurant! Palam and Amy are the Epitamy of the Thailand!
AUTHENTIC!
Great place!
Too expensive
The flavor here is good but don't be deceived. You pay for a full priced meal but get 1/3 portion I've ever seen anywhere from east to west coast. The meal came on a dessert plate! We laughed when we got our food. Waitress didn't refill waters once.
So comical about the portion sizes. I would never ever come here again. As we left I said to my wife, nice appetizer, where should we go for supper? If you like tapas Thai for full price this is your place.
And to pay we waited so long we had to go to the front of the house like it was a diner as our waitress just walked around never coming back.
The food is good, but portion sizes are not what I was hoping for, especially not for the prices. Staff is very friendly. Atmosphere is dimly lit, but clean.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The people in this place are so nice and the service is good. The place is not in the best of condition but it it has some of the best sushi in town. You have to get the momma roll if you like sushi you would love this place. The sushi is at a reasonable price due to inflation. Like I said these people are so nice they treat you like family when you walk in. They remember us and they know that we always go there for the sushi. I would give this place a thousand stars if I could.
I don't understand how this place is so highly rated, that was the worse Thai food I've ever had. Very bland and small portion sizes.
Great authentic Thai food . Would recommend
Overpriced, small portions. I ordered the sesame chicken with jasmine rice. The chicken was the size of popcorn chicken and had a vinegary taste. I literally had less than one hand full of chicken in my box.
It might sound pretty but I ordered a fried rice with shrimp and chicken, there was no shrimp whatsoever! And the chicken was just fried wing dings on the side! And I paid a lot for it as if I had shrimp fried rice with chicken in it. Pay attention to what you get and look at it. I bought it for somebody else and even though I looked at it wasn't really aware of what I was not seen
This place is amazing!!! The food is fantastic and the staff are super friendly. The storefront is very unassuming, but going inside, it has the authentic vibes. I would recommend this place to everyone I know, but it gets busy, and it's worth it.
Delish
Delicious meal, gracious staff, just not much on ambience. But you can't eat ambience.
Working out of town, from Atlanta. Just going to put it out there, best restaurant in town, period.
I was hoping with a 4.3 the food would have been much better. I have to agree with the fact that their portion sizes are wayyy too small for full price entrees. Best sushi in town
Always great service and food.
Still great food and service.
Would highly recommend!
The pad woonsen was good but the summer rolls and salmon nigiri were horrible. I thought that for $7 nigiri, the salmon and rice would taste delicious however, the salmon was a pukey pink color instead of a bright orange and the rice was extremely bland. Do not go here for sushi, I am not sure how this place got a good rating for sushi with their nasty quality of fish. The summer roll was bland and had old lettuce in it. Wish I took photos but forgot
Fast and friendly service. Large portions even though they were short handed. Everyone that came in was served quickly.
The food was great but the amount for the price does not add up. They were very stingy with the meat item. Lots of vegetables but not enough meat item.
The food and selection are very good here.
One of our favorite places to go when we are in Sumter, delicious sushi, great service
I love Thai House's fresh spring rolls. They are awesome!! The staff is great. The service is excellent. The sushi is superb. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Their shrimp fried rice is unique with spices and plump shrimp ... it is delicious 😋. I recommend everyone dine at Thai House for an excellent meal.
This has to honestly be the worst food I’ve ever had. My duck was fried in what tasted like the gunk in the bottom of the deep fryer I immediately spit it out. Moved from Charlotte so idk if it’s just bc I’m used to a certain quality but I got 3 different kinds of sushi and they were all nasty as well. The noodles and shrimp were very greasy as well for some reason. My little girls didn’t care for their sushi or tea as well. Was always told if the tea not good then the food isn’t either. I order 140$ worth of food to give a few things a shot and it was very disappointing. Thanks but no thanks first and last visit.
Ordered over $100 worth of food and the food was terrible. This was my first time trying this place and I was greatly disappointed. Everything was greasy and the “duck” smelled horrible. Even the sweet tea was questionable. Safe to say I will not be back.
This is a review from a Thai people. This restaurant has the best Thai food in Sumter!! The food is fantastic! It is the best! They have a really good service too! I love it!

I love their sushi but they need to clean around the building make it more visible
Absolutely amazing place!
Made my special sushi and lots of it.
I love their sushi because the fish portions are big and they have lots of rolls with cream cheese in it. We always get the Tom Kha since my kids love it. Tried their kids meals and that was really good. Definitely worth going. They get pretty busy so just like almost every place, it's a bit understaffed but food comes out pretty quick after ordering. Will not disappoint!
Been coming here for a few years at this point. The food is consistently good, friendly service, and clean restaurant.
Food is great but make sure you have plenty of time to wait. They are very short staffed and takes a while when they are really busy.
good. Was great
Love this place
We picked up dinner togo Saturday night; we ordered pad thai, drunken noodles, spring rolls, and pork dumplings and all were great. Everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. I would highly recommend!
Food was great! Green curry was spicy spicy
So grab a drink.lol
Food is always great!
They are closed from 3 till 4 but it's not noted anywhere, door, menu, or online website. They did seat us (got there ~2:45) and another couple who got there ~3:10 or so. A+++ for service with a smile 😃
Insanely Authentic!!! As someone who lived in Asia for years and has eaten in Bangkok I can genuinely it's all spot on!!! I highly recommend the curries. The servers are also super sweet and accomodating.
I have been there twice and haven't been disappointed with their food.
The food is great and service was too when we ate there yesterday! They have a new server in training and he was doing his best to meet all customers' needs. He was professional and courteous.
Food was great. Service was excellent
Great food and service.
Great service and the food was fresh! They have a big menu of different types of sushi as well as your regular entree's.
Delicious curry
A little on the pricey side, but this is my favorite place to get sushi. My wife absolutely loves the Chicken Pad Thai.
Great sushi
Best sushi, excellent Thai dishes, amazing owners.
Favorite place to eat sushi in Sumter.
Love the sushi and house rice
Yummy 😋
Great food, I've been coming here for years
Always amazing! I haven't ordered anything thats not yummy!!
The food was really good, but the prices for the portion sizes were much less than desirable for me.
I've been coming here for years. I get the DSP-2 and I always eat it all! They're a little pricey, but they are good! I don't live in Sumter anymore, but when I come to visit I sure as hell always ask for Thai House.
Hands down the best sushi restaurant in Sumter. Probably South Carolina. It just doesn't get any better!
The best sushi I've ever eaten! Highly recommended!
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Good food
I luv this place😊
This place is good if you like people who stove squirrels heads in with a shovel. Evil.
Absolutely disgusting food and service. Dont waste your time or money!
Service was wonderful & staff very friendly.
Would definitely not recommend this place. Very dirty. Staff was not friendly. Food just mediocre. I don’t plan on returning.
We were met with poor service and our food was cold when served and there was quite and attitude when we were polite about a complaint. Never again
This place condones animal abuse. I dread to think what their meats really are from.
Food was terrible. Waiter was not nice nor accommodating with making it right.
Way overcooked noodles, and very little flavor.
Terrible business.
I called 9 times to order and not one person picked up
One of my favorite restaurants. Only place I get sushi in Sumter. Food is always ready quickly and the staff is great. I always recommend Thai House to my friends and family.
Excellent food
Sushi is Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best in town
Service is spectacular
It's a bit pricey but well worth the money!
Excellent!
Food & sushi are good - not great, but certainly not bad. Building & decor are run down & shabby. Iced tea was weak & tasted like it was pre-made (poured out of a can).
Good food & friendly service. Red curry lunch special is highly recommended.
Wonderful sushi. Great Thai noodles
The pad Thai was delicious. The staff was very friendly as well. Highly recommend!
So last time we got take-out from here, it wasnt great, but tonight we went and ate there....it was FABULOUS! Great food, amazingly friendly staff and affordable! What's there not love?!!
Great atmosphere, great food, and friendly service.
I highly recommend this restaurant for you, and your friends.😊😊😊😊
Delicious as always!
