Casual, plant-filled eatery serving traditional Thai fare, including noodles, curries & stir fries.
I'm so glad someone recommended my husband and I to come eat at Taste of Thai, this was our first time here, and won't be our last.
The restaurant is super cute and has pretty decorations. The separate seating and bar area really caught my eye, looks like the perfect place to lounge and enjoy drinks!
The sweet tea and Bangkok tea were tasty and refreshing. They dont do free refills on certain drinks, so make sure you pay attention when ordering.
The spring rolls were very tasty, I loved how packed they were with cabbage, definitely did not feel guilty munching on them with a side of sweet and sour sauce.
My husband ordered the Orange chicken, with white rice, he enjoyed it, and I did too when he shared a bite.
I ordered the pork pad thai with extra bean sprouts, DELICIOUS! The only thing I would as for next time, would be to add some green onion, but I still very much enjoyed every bite, resisting the temptation to lick the plate clean, which I would never, but it was that good!
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to eat thai food.
So after a couple hit and miss Thai places around Spartanburg, I have found my new favorite. I ordered Pad Ped (#21) with a spice level of 5. This hit in all the right places. All dishes come served with your choice of 2 small appetizers. Which is nice. You can tell these are fresh made egg rolls. And the ginger dressing for the salad was great too. I definitely recommend and I'll absolutely be back.
This place is fantastic! Love the ambiance - it was so quiet and cozy! It doesn’t look like much from the outside because it’s in a strip mall next to Taco Bell, but they really did a nice job on the inside with the decor and overall flow of the space. The service was excellent - our waitress was extremely patient and attentive. We had a lot of questions about the menu and took forever to order, but she was so kind and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, so fresh and flavorful - we will definitely add this establishment into our regular rotation. Highly recommend!
We stopped at a restaurant while traveling to Georgia. We ordered Massaman curry and Panang curry, both with chicken and vegetarian options. Additionally, we enjoyed spicy fried rice and curry fried rice. On the side, we had fried egg rolls, fresh spring rolls, fried wontons, and soups. The food was delicious, featuring fresh veggies. We found the spice level (which we set at 8) just right. The only dish we didn't enjoy was the curry fried rice due to its unfavorable taste—seems they went overboard with the chili flakes. However, the Panang curry was superb, with an authentic Thai flavor that left us craving more. The cozy ambiance and excellent service from the kind staff made our experience memorable.
Great place for lunch. I had the number 24, Pad Prik Sod with the salad for the lunch special. The salad was certainly lacking. It was basically lettuce.
The egg roll was decent. Just the wrapping with lettuce and fried, the egg roll was very hot to the touch so be careful.
The Pad Prik was really delicious.
The entire lunch special was around $17 (not including tip).
Would I return? Certainly!
Absolutely my fav spot to eat for the past like 10 years now. The owner has become a good friend of our family’s. Everyone feels so welcoming when you come in and of course, it’s amazing food!
Best Thai food in Spartanburg!
This is the best Thai place in town. The food is the best of any Thai restaurant in Spartanburg, the service is super friendly, and the restaurant is usually clean. The location can be hard to access certain times of the day but I still choose here over any other Thai place in town.

Very good food!

Great food and great service. Have been eating here several times a year for many years. Very consistent
My favorite place! Go to when I want something I know is going to be good. I love my server as well she always takes the best care of me 💕
Lovely restaurant, staff is very friendly and attentive. However, my pad thai was very disappointing. It's one of my favorite dishes, and I've had it at various thai restaurants in many states and countries. It never seemed to disappoint, but this one was overly acidic and annoyingly spicy. It's not that it was overly spicy just... weird. And its sad cause this restaurant is so close to my house.
My favorite Thai place in the world!!!
If I could put no stars I would this is the worst place ever.
No one care when we come in. Waited for more than 10mins. Cannot even be seated.
Excellent food and service, never had a bad meal.
I missed having thai spots since I moved a year ago and this has been a spot I look forward to eating when I stay overnight at the hotel for work. The food is delicious and the service is great with a cozy dining room.
Awesome Thai food here
Best thai food in town 😋
Absolutely the best Thai food we have had!! The service and the food were equally impeccable, and the mango sticky rice dessert is to die for 😍 I had been here almost 10 yrs prior and it was just as amazing then as it is now!! I was afraid, as most restaurants do with age, it wouldn't match up to my expectations or would have changed owners or that the quality of service or food would have declined, but I was absolutely impressed by the way they have upheld everything over the years and it is so obvious they care for their customers, staff, and put so much effort into each dish prepared!! Definitely our new fave spot!
I love this place! The lunch specials are very reasonably priced. $13 Gra prow kai with fried tofu was delicious, and had plenty of basil. I also loved the peanut sauce that came with the spring roll. The little side salad with ginger dressing was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly. I’ll be back!
Great tasting food. We realy enjoyed the pineapple fried rice and the Pad Thai.
A restaurant in a small shopping center I just happened to pass by. It is a nice quiet spot. However the food is just average. Nothing we had really wowed me. Some of the food seemed overcooked. If you want quick Thai food this is for you. Just don't expect something Great that will motivate you to come back.
Too oily.

Just wasted $28.07 plus tip on the blandest food ever!! The attitude of the workers were also subpar!
Excellent Food , Great Service , Lovely Atmosphere. Will be a regular going forward! Highly recommended.
btw Spice 7 was Hot :-D
Very nice surprise on the Westside.
It's been a few years since I've been to Taste of Thai as I no longer work in the area- I love the food and the people that work there- thanks for lunch it was fabulous!
It’s hard to top the superior Thai food I’ve experienced in California and other places. With that said, Taste of Thai in Spartanburg, SC is definitely pretty decent Thai food. The setting needs a little work; the vinyl table cloths are outdated and the walls need some fresh paint, but still the food is good. I think I would get take out next time, and take it home.
Great place for lunch. I had the number 24, Pad Prik Sod with the salad for the lunch special. The salad was certainly lacking. It was basically lettuce.

Would I return? Certainly!
It took FOREVER for someone to take our order which then also took forever to be prepared. The food was meh. Not worth the hassle of the wait time. Will not be returning
Excellent Thai food in a small strip mall. As spicy as you wish.
Came here during posted open hours for lunch only to see a sign on the door saying closed for lunch. Be aware if planning to go here that this might happen to you too.
When we came by later the curry was watery unfortunately.
You could tell they put effort into every dish they make as soon as you walk in, everything tasted amazing and you could tell immediately it is prepared fresh to order, I would definitely recommend returning again and again!
Very slow in the evening no customers .
I like the service. But the food had no seasoning.. no real taste. I expected more spice..
The service was great but the food wasn't. The flavor profiles were good but the noodles and rice were badly overcooked. The rice was mushy and the noodles were slimy.
The food is amazing and personable 🔥
Taste of Thai always hits the mark !!
Dang, the owner, is simply the BEST!!
Such a sweet, kind, lady and she makes sure her customers enjoy the time spent in her lovely restaurant ❤️
Very nice place, very clean. Food was good. I ordered my pad Thai spicy #8. Wow! It was spicy!
Best Thai food in Spartanburg! Portions are large, food is always fresh, staff is always wonderful.
Almost give a 5 star but the chicken pad Thai has a sour taste of vinegar. It was good so I just kept eating it. The price was higher than expected ranging from 13 to 15 per dish. I thought the green tea was free but it was 5 per teapot! The service was great and the lady who attended to us was very nice and Thai! Make the price affordable and I'll be there everyday!
Always AMAZING!
Food was not what I am used to
Price food for lunch specials
We came in and we're seated immediately. The server was friendly and knowledgeable, even passed on an option to upsell, which earns extra points from me. We had the Massaman Curry. It was delicious! Left both of us sighing contentedly for a while. A+
It's a nice place ordered 2 of the Beef Larb salads with sticky rice, and the orange chicken. The Beef Larb was Watery and sweet lacking in the usually flavor for this type if Dish, the stick rice was kinda hard. Now the Orange chicken was delicious. Now I'll admit we got there 1hr before closing and order with 30 of closing, I don't like showing up that close to closing but didn't realize it until we got there. Staff was friendly the environment inside the place was nice. I'd give it another try not so close to closing and hopefully everything will be a lot better.
Oh dear! Where do I begin? I ordered the duck and it has almost abolished my desire to ever try duck again. Maybe it was the fact that it was fried in oil that probably has never had the oil changed in months. It was disgusting! More salt than a salt lick. If Thailand tasted like this then there's no doubt there's a lot of salt mines there. You pay over 30 dollars for a meal then you expect much better. Hey, call me the day after you change your oil so that I can at least taste duck. Reminds me of when I was in Hong Kong and saw raw ducks hanging in the windows. This duck could have been beef jerky for all I know. However beef jerky tastes better from a gas station. The egg drop soup was ok. I needed it to displace the salty bitter taste the duck left. Ugh!!! Maybe other dishes are ok. They claim to have the best bourbon chicken but I'm sure it's the best bourbon chicken in that intersection until taco bell starts selling bourbon chicken.
This place is fantastic! Love the ambiance - it was so quiet and cozy! It doesn’t look like much from the outside because it’s in a strip mall next to Taco Bell, but they really did a nice job on the inside with the decor and overall flow of the space. The service was okay but took way too long for the food to come out just for it to be a small portion. I also was charged for pork but got chicken. Definitely wasn’t enough food for $14
The pad tie is amazing
Awesomeness!!!
I've lived here for almost 20yrs and never been until today. Was so good. It was real quiet for lunch crowd but the lunch special was a good deal. Pick a stir fry, a protein and two free apps. I had chili tofu and was asked what spice 1-10 I went for lvl 3. It was wonderful. Pretty sure everything was made to order. My veggies and tofu were so tasty. I hadn't had mushrooms that were so full of flavor. The red curry stir fry was also delicious. Great food.
I love this Thai restaurant. The food was delicious and presented well. They are very nice! The mango and sticky rice is the perfect way to end your dinner. Its delicious! Thank you Tasye of Thai for a delicious dinner!
Great service and the food is always perfect: Perfect flavors, perfect spice level, perfect proportions, and perfect selections.
Amazing food.
Fun challenge to see how high you can go with the spice level
Genuinely a phenomenal experience. From the diversity of flavors, to how personable the staff is, and even the authenticity of the general ambiance. I absolutely recommend this location to anyone wanting an excellent meal with a friendly atmosphere.
Tasty food at good prices. Highly recommend! Was in the area for 2 days, had to have it both days. I'll be back!
Great food, great place! We stumbled on it while traveling through, and we'll be back.
Stopped in while covering a shift and needed to get lunch. Service was good, but the food was amazing. Definitely will be back if I am in the area again.
The prompt service was the best part of my experience. While the menu was large, with lunch specials, I felt the food was mediocre. The ginger salad and egg roll that were the appetizers to my curry lunch special were interesting. The Green Curry flavors were spot on, but the sauce was watery and most of my vegetables were previously frozen, very soggy. By the other reviews, I was really expecting more. The menu prices weren't updated, so I paid more than what was listed.
One of our favorite lunch places. Food is always very good
Such a great food! Great flavors I ordered Tom Yum soup and spicy basil definitely coming back soon
Great food and customer service but beware spicy = SPICY
My favorite in the area!
Fried wontons are ridiculous, it should not be listed as an appetizer. The egg roll is greasy and only have unseasoned cabbage in it. I had the pad Thai noodles, it’s soupy, filled with sweet and sour sauce and taste less. The eggs in the noodles were so nasty! I will not be eating here again.
Always an awesome experience
It use to be great but I went here to eat a few months back twice and it was super salty and I finally came back to give it another shot and it’s not salty this time but my noodles are just mushy and definitely not worth the $3 upgrade to change to flat noodles on the Drunken Spaghetti.
Food was alright. I wasn't crazy about mine. My husband liked his alright, he is the thia food fan.
Delicious!!! I had some family come into town and we decided to get a bunch of different items from here. Everything was fantastic, highly recommend.
I decided to try Taste of Thai tonight and I am extremely glad I did. The food was fantastic. The red curry was one of the best I've ever had. On top of the fantastic food, the service was spectacular. So much so that it prompted me to write this review. I had a great conversation with the owner who told me all about the fresh peppers that they use and how they roast them to make their own red pepper flakes and spice mixes. She was so awesome, that she gave me 3 jars of different peppers to take home. After my meal another table and I struck up a conversation about how fantastic the food was and how happy we were to have stopped in. It is definitely recommended and I will be back anytime I am in town! Thank you Taste of Thai for a fantastic dining experience!
Delicious food. Service was average. Prices on menu didn’t match the bill. We pointed this out. They made no concessions or apologies for the higher prices on our bill. Won’t need to go back.
Wow. Hands down, best Thai food we’ve had. In love with this place. Ambiance, decor, music, and service are all wonderful. The food is fantastic and fresh. This is one of those hole-in-the-wall places you will be very glad to have stumbled upon
Very good food.
Roaches climbing on wall next to table.
Not too clean.
One of the best, authentic Thai restaurants.
First and last time going here me and my wife got 2 different dishes both with chicken and both taste like fish horrible and expensive.
Great flavor and taste. Don't order the extra curry, it isn't worth the $$. You get maybe 1/8 more than the original order. A little disappointed in the garlic vegetable. It should be called the garlic cabbage because that's the only vegetable we got.
Hidden treasure. Finally got around to visiting Taste of Thai. The food is delicious and a reasonable price. Will definitely go there again.
Liked their curry dish.
Popped in here when I saw it on google maps. It was a rainy day and Thai sounded perfect. Taste of Thai did not disappoint. I just got the green curry at an 8 out of 10 spice. It. Was. Delicious! Food was quick, spring roll was light and delicious. Will definitely be back!
They got the spice level wrong on my food. Got it correct on my son's and wife's food. Despite the mistake, the food had a great taste. The wait staff were very nice and very fast. 4.5
Authentic Thai is hard to find. Taste of Thai is the real deal! Excellent food, super staff!!!
Food are salty, Fried rice is soooo wet , even though the lady said she'll cook another one but it came back the same and al..worst place to eat..not recommended
First time eating Thai and it was good. I will go back again!
The food was mediocre at best. My husband ordered Massaman curry medium 5 on a 10 scale of heat. The dish was very mild non flavorful. I ordered kum sum, it was supposed to be sliced papaya ,tomato and string beans with a dried shrimp sauce topped with peanuts. There were some peanuts ,a few slices of tomato, string beans. But no papaya. There was no papaya in that salad. And no shrimp sauce. She was very nice n she tried ,she brought out 3 shrimps and some peanut sauce. The pineapple fried rice was not very flavorful. There was 1 waitress for all the tables. We can check this restaurant off on the "been there list".
Very expensive for what you get. Food was about a 5 at best.
one bright spot ... Our waiter was very good.
I was looking forward to eating here for the first time, but feel I can only rate it a 3 overall, solely based on the food. I purchased the Pad Thai tofu x2 and Tom Kha soup x2. Let me state, the soup was amazing. One of the best I’ve had. The Pad Thai on the other hand was bland and dry. I asked for a 4* heat on one, 7* on the other. It was difficult to taste the difference in heat levels between the two. I feel the cost was high too also. Higher priced than similar businesses, and the bland taste didn’t make me feel better about how much I paid.
I called ahead and did takeout and was informed the food would be ready in 30 mins. I showed up at the 30 minute mark, and had to wait over an additional 35 mins. I know staffing seems to be an issue at many businesses, but to be off the mark that badly on the timing is not good. They also seemed to be staffed adequately, especially for the amount of diners they had at the time. Another gentleman was there waiting, he stated he had been waiting 45 minutes. He asked the person at the counter how much longer his food would be, I heard them state 5 minutes. I left 20 minutes after that, and he was still waiting.
I don’t know that I need to go back anytime soon.
Great experience at Taste of Thai! Had dinner and was blown away by the depth of authentic flavor. The Tum Kha Soup was beyond delicious. Pad Prik Khing and Pad Ped were our entrees and they were superb. Serving size was generous, proces reasonable, and service was great. Will definitely stop in again!
Fist time I had a bad meal. I give it a second shoot and the service was really slow
Just finished lunch here. I had chicken Pad Thai. My wife had Combo Seafood Pad Thai. It was very tasty. We had egg rolls and salad with the ginger dressing, which was very tasty. You can choose the level of spicy, from 1-10. We both like very spicy and hot food. I think ordered 3/10 and my wife got 4/10. I thought 3 or 4 is plenty hot.
This was is a sit down restaurant, not fast food. Service was friendly and reasonably fast. Nice decor.
Slightly confused on the menu, but they messed up the order, didn't feel confident with the remake of the meal.
First Time There. Will certainly not be my last time!! The food was delicious! Service was excellent. Atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. Look forward to my next visit.
I ate lunch here a few weeks ago for the first time, and it was delicious and the service was perfect. The menu was large, but still made sense and had recognizable dishes on it. I brought a friend back here for dinner last night, and it was a different experience. Service was good, however, we waited 45 minutes for our food that we never received because we finally gave up and left. We offered to pay for our drinks, but the waitress told us not to worry about that. The issues were: the dinner menu had dishes with word the "spaghetti" in their names, and after looking closely at the photos, it looked as if they use actual spaghetti noodles. The main complaint was the fact that the restaurant seemed more concerned about getting to-go orders prepared instead of serving the 3 tables that were in the actual restaurant. After watching to-go orders leave for 45 minutes and not one person came to tho check on us, we gave up. I totally understand that restaurants are focused on to-go orders since the pandemic, and I do not blame them for that. But when you ignore the actual customes who are there in the restaurant and are there to tip servers, then I believe you should just be a take-out restaurant.
Entered and no one greeted us. Was told by a woman standing by a table to sit anywhere we wanted. Ordered our drinks and meals. When our glasses were empty it took 10 minutes for someone to come and refill them. The saving grace of our evening was the meal. Food was pleasing.
Had to edit my original review...went from a 5 stars to 2 stars...sadly I wont be coming back here. I understand inflation happened but the prices SKY rocketed here for things that arnt even worth it. The cucumber salad that i used to get as you see below was $3 is now $6 and you literally get 1 small cucumber and some sauce. The main entrees are up to like $16, amongst other high prices! The food quality have definitely gotten down too. Service is very slow too, 1 women cant do everything...waiting time is verryyyyyyy long.
I ordered two Chicken Pad Thai for takeout and the food had a strong stench to it. I even tried the food and it tasted weird. My husband and I couldn't eat it. With all the good reviews this restaurant has today may have just been a rough day for them.
Good food great service in a clean and beautiful restaurant
Decent portion. Food is really good and they have friendly staff
Pretty good Thai food.
After an 11 hour, 670 mile drive from our home in NJ, it MADE MY DAY!! They were across the parking lot from our hotel. I am often disappointed with many Asian restaurants when we travel, but Taste of Thai knocked it out of the park, it was like I had dinner in Bangkok. Fantastic food, great service. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.
Service was excellent as was the food. Family run. Attention to detail. Check this place out!
This was my first time here and everything was absolutely amazing 👏 the pineapple rice with veggies was delicious and the fresh spring rolls and the sauce 🤤 are a must try. The egg drop soup was very very good . The service was great and quick You have to stop in and give this place a try. It won't let you down
Red curry steamed tofu was a 10/10!!
Def recommend 🤪🤪🤪🤪
Wonderful food and great service!
The ppl are so friendly and the prices are not bad for the amazing food you get.
It's our favorite Thai restaurant!
Ordered Shrimp Phad Thai, looked and smelled great when it hit the table...then I took a bite.
If you're going to cook and serve UNPEELED shrimp, don't cover it up with noodles and sprouts, and give me a heads up for God's sake. I still have a piece of a tail stuck in my throat two hours later. Ugh.
This is the best Thai food in Spartanburg, South Carolina and we think the best on East Coast! We love the food here. We love the Cashew Chicken, Red Curry, and Pad Thai dishes. We always eat here when we visit our parents. Also make sure to order Sticky Rice for desert! We are picky Thai food people. We visit Thailand often and this is the most authentic. Here again on 8/13/21...still the best Thai food we have found on the East Coast of the USA! We love the food here!
Great dinning area very clean and the food is always amazing and fresh! Highly recommended!
Food is delicious and service is wonderful!!
Nice little quiet place with good service and good food, give it a try, we liked it and will go back!
Was great. Went there for the first time with my mate we both loved it
My entire experience was wonderful! Great waitress! Delicious, authentic food. Will be back and I highly recommend to anyone who truly appreciates authentic Thai food.
Amazing food and incredible people in management!
AMAZING!
Excellent food, super friendly staff.
Bad service
Dry food
Never Again
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
I love this place. I travel more than 30 min. Excellent food and wonderful staff
Amazing
I have been going to this location for over 10 years now. Their Pad Thai is the best I have ever had by a long shot. The ingredients are always fresh and the spice is very consistent. Thier egg rolls and plum sauce are amazing as well. I heard they swapped ownership a few years ago and was concerned, but if you didn't hear about it you wouldn't have known. Thier food quality and consistency stayed the same. Everyone I have recommended this place to have become repeat customers. The food speaks for itself.
The seafood pad Thai was excellent. It was a perfect heat. Quick service. Appear to have a very active pickup service as well
Excellent food and atmosphere! Waiter was helpful and food came out very fast and everything was delicious!! Definitely will recommend to anyone wanting to try something new!
Hands down the best Thai spot in the Upstate. I make the drive from Greenville to Spartanburg.
Taste of Thai was wonderful very authentic to Thailand and the service was fast and taste great. I ate with family there and we are still talking about it. If want to lift up your spirits and with great food this place is no other!
Their food is so amazing, it was my wife and I first time dining in and we absolutely loved it. We will definitely be back
Waitress was awesome
Awesome food.. curry fried rice were awesome with red hot sauce
Food is pretty good for the price
Love it they have 2 sides for free for every dish.. cozy place
