For Johnston, this spot is immaculate. In my humble opinion, this place has better sushi than cayenne sushi. They don’t take one hour to make a single roll of sushi, unlike some other places in Johnston. Food overall is really good for the area. You have to remember this area is mostly Italians so for there to be an Asian place that is good is a risky move, but overall this place is good and I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area and does not want to drive to Providence to eat Asian food. I would recommend the noodles overall a solid spot 8.5/10

First time here.. relaxing atmosphere... very friendly staff. .. food and drinks were delicious. ..I had a pineapple juice and it was served in a large glass...I ordered pineapple fried rice (white) and it is my new favorite kind of rice..I added shrimp for my protein and they were NOT skimpy with it...my husband loved his Mai Tai... he had the yellow crispy noodles with vegetables... it was deliciously seasoned.. background music was on perfect volume level and music playing was of good taste... our waitress Fang was delightful .. she was patient and helpful... very friendly...prices are very reasonable. we will definitely be back

This dish is always, always served with thinly sliced, velveted, stir fried chicken which is what most people would expect the preparation to be. Since this dish is only featured on the lunch menu, there is no description of how it is prepared as a main menu item and no indication that it is served deep fried anywhere on the menu. The sauce and vegetables were well prepared and delicious, but I was not desiring a breaded, deep fried dish. I do not waste food, so I ate it as prepared, but will not order it again. The hot and sour soup with my combination lunch was full of vegetables and tofu, nicely spicy and not overly thick or sweet which was perfect for my taste.
Our Shrimp Nime Chow appetizer was not made with large shrimp, but with small salad shrimp which was a little disappointing, however the vegetables were fresh, they were properly rolled and the dipping sauce was delicious. My husband's House (shrimp, pork & chicken) Udon Noodle soup with 3 large, beautifully prepared tempura shrimp was outstanding and an extremely good value as is everything on the menu. You will not walk away hungry! The service was excellent as always and the dining room was immaculately clean and comfortable although I could have done without the modern country music exclusively playing in the background throughout our visit, a very unusual choice for an Asian restaurant. Overall it was a great experience.

We enjoyed to eat it. BUT.. a big negative for our server is she is so rude to us as she is very hyper to rush us out for next customers waiting while we are starting to eat! Because she wants to earn more money from next customers?! She wants to take money out of every next customer’s pocket?! Huh?! That’s unacceptable! We were very angry at our server for rushing us out!

Manager/Owner: Training damn her, I mean all of your hyping servers, too!…Slow down! Don’t ever ever rush us plus all of next customers, too out again!

Our new go to for Asian food!

Recently reopened and remodeled, Hei Place is back in business offering fresh, delicious Asian cuisine. The vegetarian nime chow (fresh spring rolls with rice paper wrappers served with peanut dipping sauce) and scallion pancakes (served with a light soy sauce) are excellent appetizers, with a well balanced mix of flavors. The Vegetables with Hot Basil (Thai Style) is a very flavorful entree, which was hot and spicy as requested. I recommend ordering a side of steamed rice with this dish, as well as a side of hot chili paste if you like extra hot and spicy. Friendly waitress. Comfortable seating, although the tables are a little more comfortable than the booths in my opinion. Will return soon.

Friendly people and a nice clean restaurant. We had the sweet and sour chicken, and the sesame chicken. Both were ok, but not great. The hot and sour soup was good and the fried rice was pretty good as well.

Can't have people pay for food they ordered at 11 am for pickup at 7pm and be an hour late...what were you doing all day? 🤣 then when we ask for a refund, you immediately produce our food. Ridiculous.

It is now to the point where I have insatiable cravings and nothing will satisfy me from anywhere else! By far the best wonton soup I've ever had! Definitely weekly favorite. All in all a great experience, dining alone, with a family or group of friends. Very accommodating, the staff is fantastic, super fresh ingredients and a wide variety of options to easily satiate a variety of pallets. Definitely a personal favorite!!!

This food was the worst chinese food I've had in quite a while. Ordered general tso which tasted like school lunch meat teryaki chicken. It was gross. The rice was so overcooked it was almost pudding. Ordered a lobster mango roll and got no lobster on the roll. How they have good reviews baffles me

Had some excellent food and Liy is an excellent waitress!

Very disappointing, especially after reading all the positive reviews. The sticky wings had more like a lumpy BBQ sauce and had a funny chlorine taste. The General’s chicken sauce was equally as gross and was oddly watery (maybe not freshly made?). The Singapore noodles had no curry flavor or heat. The pork dumplings, rangoons and fried rice were decent, but after spending $90 on a meal that I did not want to cook tonight, we will not be going back, and I should’ve sucked it up and made dinner at home.

Nice fish tank. Decent service. Good boneless ribs. Not clean enough for us. We won't be back I don't think.

Never had a bad meal there, eat in or take out. Have early eaten there over 200 times, and never once had an issue.

The sushi rolls we ordered were very small and greatly overpriced for what we received. We also ordered pad Thai with tofu which was good but not great. Would not go back.

Best Asian Cuisine I've ever had in Rhode Island.

Eat here all the time but yesterday's food a little disappointing. The crispy wings were tough and the Kung Po had no peanuts in it. Problem was after lunch we brought these menu items home for dinner so nothing we could do about it.

Went tonight for New years Dinner and ordered the pupu for two....the food came out cool..... Asked the waitress to heat up the food for us...she came back and said No!...."Due to too much volume tonight" we can't do that....asked for the Owner....whom we have spoken too before and the waitress said he was the one in the kitchen and he was the one who said that they won't heat up the food! We were flabbergasted at that answer....never heard anything like that before...from anywhere!....needless to say we asked for the check and wrote a note on the check that the waitress needs an apology from the owner...so sad....seems that they just want the $$$ and that the customers can come or not....he doesn't seem to care....

Been here a lot but today we ordered out and didn't came out as good.Shrimp with lobster sauce and hot and sour soup was too much soy sauce. Also ordered fish with tofu also not good more tofu than fish (4 small pieces of fish $17.00) and tofu was so tough and very dry. I think the tofu that was used was the ready made one. Very disappointed.

Almost everything tasted awful. The sauce for the "hot" General Tso's chicken tasted like cheap BBQ sauce. If food poisoning had a flavor, this place would be it. The water was the highlight, the best part of the meal.

Really liked everything about Hei Palace. Food was fantastic, best Fried Rice I've tasted. Everything had really good flavor. The Orange Chicken could have had a little more heat, but still very flavorful. I'm not a sushi person, but others in our party liked what they ordered. Beware of the large fishbowl drink, it's potent!
