Authentic Thai Cuisine & Sushi Bar in a beautiful new restaurant in Downtown Sharon PA.
We loved the food. Unfortunately, they were out of rice for sushi, so we ended up getting pineapple chicken & tamarind chicken. Both were really good. The veggie soup (with either chicken or shrimp added) was delicious. We ordered a large of that and ate off of it for 2 days. The only thing that would have made it better is if they had a liquor license so I could have had a drink with dinner.
I have, without a doubt, found my new Thai restaurant. This place was absolutely great! The service was, hands down, amazing. We were greeted with smiles, checked on throughout, my child was given a couple of balloons from the Valentine's balloons throughout the restaurant, and they had no problems with us adding to our order for us to take with us when we were done. The people were super friendly.
The food was delicious! We had friend rice, pad Thai, spring rolls, egg rolls, my fiancé got some kind of fried shrimp dish, a deep fried octopus sushi roll, Thai iced tea. It was all perfect! I haven't had pad Thai this good in years. And they obviously take pride in their food as it's aesthetically plated and cut. The carrots and cucumbers are sliced with little serrated edges. It's all beautiful.
Speaking of aesthetics, the restaurant itself is lovely. One of the first things my fiancé noticed, having worked in HVAC previously, was the ductwork being painted and matching the interior. The TVs flash through pictures of menu items, the owner and employees, as well as previous customers, giving a very welcoming vibe. The whole place appears upscale while maintaining a family friendly welcoming energy and being affordable.
I wish I would have taken pictures. The food was divine. The atmosphere and decor was so pretty. I came with my family and my daughter loved the elephants, she had a blast. The service was above and beyond, especially since I have an allergy. The manager asked questions and even came back out to verify if an ingredient was safe for me to eat. The duck soup I had was absolutely delicious. Same for the crab Rangoon, gyoza, and sushi. I even got a Thai milk tea to go and it was the best I have ever had. Honestly wish I could give 10 stars cause everything was just amazing and will for sure be coming back with my family. More than likely will get take out too! Just overall, such an amazing experience, looking forward to being a frequent patron of this establishment and trying something new off the menu!
My husband and I have been to Elephant 8 in Sharon, PA. several times now. It is among our top favorite Thai places near us. We have never been disappointed. The service is really good. We have never had bad service. Not one time. The atmosphere is pleasant. It feels like a little piece of Thailand in the US. (Although I have never been there...I can imagine.)
The restrooms are clean and accommodating.
I ordered the Pad Thai. It is my favorite, by far! (I do add some spice to mine...I like my food a bit on the spicy side.)
It did not disappoint. However, I haven't had anything I didn't like.
This time my husband got the Hot Wok Mixed Veggie (H6). He got it with the meat combination, which I am not a fan of, but the flavor was great. He really enjoyed it. He even had enough left-over to take to work for lunch.
The owner is very sweet. We actually met her at this visit.
The only thing I can say as a negative comment is that the parking is limited. There is parking on the street. Other than that you can park behind the library. Also, they do close between 3pm-4pm. and they're closed on Mondays.
I would highly recommend Elephant 8!
First things first, the food is absolutely fantastic! I will go out of my way for this food for sure, if it was just food alone it would be a 5 star review. Me and my partner got a nice variety of sushi and got an order of the pad Thai with shrimp. The sushi is great for the area, finally a good sushi option in the area! The pad Thai is good, light on the peanut sauce though, so would ask for extra, and no spicy option unfortunately. The service on the other hand, it was struggling. A slightly long wait for the food was no problem, considering we had ordered a lot. The biggest problem was the lack of waitress that came by to check on us. In the first 45 minutes, the waitress stopped by twice, and the second time was when she brought our food. When we were done with our food, we sat there for 30 minutes with empty plates before I got up and asked the bus boy for a take out box. It was busy, I get it, and will give it another shot in the future and will update my review then. Just be aware it will take some time!
**Edit: went here again a few weeks later than my initial review. Still stand by my initial comments but the food is really really good (can't stress that enough) but the service needs a lot of improvement. For now, I'll stick to take out from this place and try dining in again in a few months. Got the pad woon sen second time around, also a very good choice!
Saturday night ! I called in prior that day to reserve, the owner indicated a table for two was not necessary. We arrived shortly after 7 pm and waited less than 10 minutes for our table. The owner was seating , handling carry out , and cashing out exiting customers. She did all that very efficiently! The food is absolutely the most authentic and tasteful food from Thailand you’ll eat anywhere in 🇺🇸. Best used ingredients for a great price as well. You’re missing out here if you haven’t been ! Period
My daughter and I came for lunch on Sunday. We were both excited to try this place and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Lots of flavor and I nice variety to pick from. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was vibrant and fun. My only suggestion would be to make sure whoever is watching the door to greet people that they are trained to be inviting and friendly...and present. It says a lot about a place when you are greeted upon entry to acknowledge that your patrons are welcomed. I can understand the difficulty with getting people to work, so I wouldn't hold this against your establishment or the dedicated people who come to work.
Busy on a Friday night, but still quick to get a table for two. Love the Thai iced tea with milk-sweet creamy and delicious! Pineapple fried rice with chicken was delicious! The fried wonton appetizer was delicious. We also tried the yummy platter appetizer and the dumplings, loved it all! So many things to come back and try!! Cannot wait to eat here again!! Thank you honey!

Food is really good. My grand- baby loves goin here! Bathrooms are nice & clean!! Haven't been able to try any desserts but, plan on it soon.

Just got done eating here for the first time. Absolutely incredible food, best crab rangoons and fried gyoza I've ever had in my life. Beautiful decor, and the staff was very very helpful dealing with my wife's food allergies, especially the manager, she's just awesome! Definitely coming back soon, can't believe I didn't learn about them sooner.
I only have ordered food for takeout. It's always well packaged and tastes great.
Excellent Thai restaurant with many amazing choices in a great atmosphere
Great food and great service. I highly recommend stopping in to eat.
Food is fantastic and the owner, Miss Nina is a treat! So many options from vegan to all the meats! No matter what you get for your meal, it will be great! Don't pass on the Thai custard for desert!
This cuisine cannot be touched by any Asian cuisine in our area. The best clean food in our area.
Great food good people will be back. Again and again
One of the best ever drunken noodles! Really spicy and amazing taste!
Very nice place. Awesome staff! Great host. Very attentive.
Hands down, the best Thai you will ever have. Nina, the owner, is always there, working alongside her employees, too. The staff is always friendly and the food is always phenomenal. Highly recommend anything from there. Nothing has ever disappointed us!
Best restaurant in Mercer county ever!! We’ve been there half a dozen times and tried different entrees. All are excellent!!! Service is outstanding, as well as autmosphere! Highly recommend
Best Thai food in Pennsylvania we love this place!
Love this place! Food is excellent. Great lunch specials. We appreciate the quality/healthy options.
This was the best restaurant experience we have had in years. The service was great, everyone had a smile on their face, the prices are very reasonable, and it was very cute. I had a spicy noodle dish that was delicious and had an amazing texture. My husband had a few sushi rolls and they literally melted in our mouths. I will definitely be back.
The food is amazing. I have not had anything from there that I didn’t love. Highly recommend, amazing food, hands down one of my favorite places to eat.
1st visit, appreciated menu pictures with descriptions of each dish. Since not familiar with Thai food, that made it much easier to make a decision on what to order.
Chicken Satay was first up - the chicken was tender, juicy, flavorful, and quite possibly the best I've had.
Pad Thai was toothsome and delicious with an al dente texture.
Crispy Duck was very tasty, and the tamarind sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and sour.
I really enjoyed the Thai Iced Coffee, too.
This place is a treasure, and it's the best Thai food I've had since leaving California fifteen years ago.
We will be back!
Very easy place to pass by and not even notice this beautiful authentic Thai cuisine restaurant. The inside is absolutely a step into another country. The food was very delicious and I will be going back!!!
First time going and the food was great! The appetizers were hot and fresh and our dinners were delicious!
Stopped in while in town on family matters, and always love a good Pad Thai.
Absolutely delicious, the spring lumpia rolls, and gyoza were great. My husband loved the red curry and we took a second one for the road.
Thank you for giving some brightness and childhood flavor comfort foods during a bleaker week.
Staff are polite and quick to service the customers. The meals here are amazing. Very well prepared and plated. Absolutely recommend!
Food was average for Thai places, which in my opinion have higher quality food, can't really complain about food quality
In person service was dreadful. friendly lady up front was the only one attentive. I'm not sure we had an assigned server... the lady who seated us came back after about 15 minutes, took the order, then brought drinks. The couple seated about 5 minutes after we were seated had already ordered a while ago at that point. Their food arrived shortly after we got our drinks. Our apps, then dinner, were delivered by a young gentleman who appeared to be an expiditor or busboy but never saw the lady who seated/ took our order again. We were not offered a drink refill, nor were we delivered a check, but that might be their policy to just bring your table number to the front to pay, and other than a busboy clearing some plates we never saw a server again. we did leave 15% tip begrudgingly since i know the wait staff gets basically no salary outside tips, but honestly, we should have probably stiffed them based on service.
There was absolutely no privacy at 2 person tables, had I stretched my arms out in either direction I could place my hand on the back of the head of my neighbors dining at 2 person tables to right and left side of me. Any conversation was sure to be overheard by neighbor tables.
Sound insulation was non exsistant, so conversation was difficult regardless.
I mean Thai food options in Hermitage /Sharon are minimal. So if you go, just be aware of what you are in for. Hopefully, my experience is not regular service levels.
Perhaps take out is a better choice, the food was fine.
price was aggressively high compared to other places I've been, they assist to be selling an experience, very hipster mod, but honestly, I'd appreciate a calmer setting with space to not feel like I was forced eavesdropping on my neighbors conversations.
Delicious food. The pad thai, spicy fried rice, and sunshine roll were all excellent. Looking forward to many more date nights here in the future.
Amazing! We had a group of about 12 people, and everything was fantastic. The service was great and efficient. The food came out super fast, and everything was delicious. We had staff checking on us regularly. Everyone was so nice. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I highly recommend it. Thank you for such a great experience. I can't wait to return.
This is o e of my favorite places. Everything on the menu has been fantastic. My faves are the egg rolls, glass noodles, and crusted chicken.
Fantastic.
Relatively new to the area, this Thai Restaurant offers quizine from their native Thailand. They serve both spicy and non-spicy dishes. The waitstaff are very helpful in helping you to choose what suits your taste. You can choose from the kitchen or Hibachi. The owner is very gracious and is often on location as they have another restaurant in neighboring Slippery Rock, PA.
DO NOT ORDER TAKE-OUT. I have ordered take-out twice, the first time no issues and food was great, however the second time I ordered (through the same ordering platform) when i arrived to pick-up my order, the gal at the front desk was VERY SHORT AND RUDE stating they did not receive my order and that the platform i ordered from was a SCAM. Yet a week before that my first order had no issue with the same platform. I understand being very busy and not able to get to to-go orders, but lying and stating its a scam when a customer gets there and has already paid is unethical. I now have to report it as fraud with my bank to received a refund as nothing was offered to resolve the issue. Instead after insiting it was a scam she walked away and tended to other customers. If your take out customers are not valued as you clearly indicated in your lack of response to rectify the issue, dont offer take out. I will be contacting the better business bureau on this matter, and not returning as a customer as I am clearly not a valued customer.
Went here after a bad experience at a restaurant/bar nearby. Great experience.
One of the first meals that I had since I got back from the Military and I have to say that this place will definitely be one of my go to restaurants.
Excellent Food!
The staff are always so friendly, the food comes quick and is fresh
Our first time trying this place. The food was excellent! It was very fresh and flavorful. My husband and I will definitely be back and recommend it to our friends.
I love this place, and also the Slippery Rock location. The staff is attentive and kind, the owner was super nice, and the food has been great every time we have gone (5+ times spread out over the last year). They have awesome options for vegetarians with tofu options for their curries and noodle dishes, and their sushi is amazing. My faves are the poke bowl, sunflower roll, and volcano roll, can't wait to try more!
The atmosphere was very relaxing. I loved the decor. Staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back. Best crab Rangoon I ever had. All of the food was outstanding
Eaten here twice. Food wasn’t bad, but not amazing. Service was dry and infrequent. A bit expensive for the quality and service. Both times, I was stuck on the toilet afterwards. I’ll pass in the future.
Wife and I went on a date night and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious from the appetizers to the sushi and the main dishes were delightful. My wife was asked about the spiciness of her dish they made it a nice kick but not burning. The staff was very pleasant and attentive to clearing plates and filling drinks. Definitely want to go again.
We got sat, and the server didn't even approach us for at least 10 minutes. Brought water over and then proceeded to not return to our table for over 40 minutes. We had to basically beg someone to let us order appetizers.
Everything came out staggered, and completely out of order. I've worked in the service industry for a long time, and honestly this was one of the worst service experiences I've had to date. Some of the staff were not very pleasant at all.
Food was pretty good, maybe willing to try it again but only take out since we had such poor service.
Awesome atmosphere and very yummy food! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Food was absolutely delicious but being seated so close to other diners is a turn off. Will stick to takeout next time.
I liked ordering from this place but they don't read the notes that I put on my order. I know it's my fault for ordering asap because they have to rush to cook the food. Even so cooking shouldn't mean that you ignore the notes that a customer wrote. I'm lucky that I'm not allergic to wasabi but the next person might not be so lucky.
There's no point in having someone with poor eyesight man the hostess station. It's unfair to both employee and customer and wastes time on for both parties. If you cannot see without glasses/contacts then wear them. Put them on a chain or something so that you don't forget. Or if you can't afford glasses then you can buy a reading stone or something that helps you see. An employee that refuses to do should find another line of work instead.
Their poke bowl and pineapple rice is excellent. If you want to eat cheaply then order off the lunch menu since you get a free spring roll. It's not worth spending that much money on food even if it tastes good.
I wish there was a rating higher than 5, this restaurant is deserving of a rating above 5 stars. The food is absolutely amazing and not just 1 time the food and service are never just excellent. Everything is amazing . I had the Thai fried rice with shrimp and a California roll.... The California roll was the best I have ever tasted and I have tried them in some really fancy places. The Thai fried rice was absolutely delicious big plump shrimp , the rice was cooked perfectly no underdone hard pieces and the vegetables looked like they just picked them from the garden out back , they had no brown edges or wilting of any sort. I promise you if you want a meal that you leave you wanting to come back again and again Elephant#8 Thai Taste is where you have to eat . The family that owns the restaurant is very friendly and they work hard to make sure you get the best food . This is a gem to have in Mercer county . Stop in and get the best meal you have ever had
Food was better than I expected had a not so good experience at another Thai restaurant year's ago
Honestly, only thing I can complain about is the slow service from the waitress/waiter staff. Other than that food was absolutely fantastic I’ll be back again.
I had the spicy tuna roll, 9/10 and the chicken wonton soup 10/10 .
Definitely great food at great prices just need to work on dining room urgency and supervision
An amazing place in Sharon. Let my dog stay with me in the side room. :)
Food was pretty good. Portions were a little light. There seemed to be some confusion with who was waiting on us. The person who seated us seated another couple and got their menus and took their orders before another person came and gave us menus. Also, they do not give you the check at the table, instead you go to the front register and give your table number and they pull your check. That wasn't a problem, but something that you should be aware of.
UPDATE:
We have been to the restaurant several times since this review was written. The bugs have been worked out. Food has been hot, delicious, large portions, and has come out fast. Service has been good.
Be aware that there are 10 levels of heat that you can ask for. My son who loves hot food ordered level 5 and he was in tears from the heat! Be careful when ordering!
Let me start off by saying this place is amazing!!! Food, serve, and ambiance were all on point. My husband is in the Air Force so we’ve tried Thai food from all over the United States and this was one of the best we’ve had.
We went for lunch on a Saturday. The lunch portions are very generous. You get a free spring roll and miso soup. My husband got the Pad Thai- the sauce was so delicious. It could’ve used a little more spice imo, but he didn’t ask for spicy. I got the pad kee mao- it was the perfect amount of spice (I like spicy food) and had a good amount of protein. We split the dynamite roll. The tuna was very fresh tasting and delicious.
We live in Youngstown and will be traveling often for this restaurant!!!
Food was served hot and tasty
Good sushi!
Some of the best Thai I have ever had.
I’m not picky by any means, maybe I was overly excited to try this place and just expected too much, having sampled other Thai restaurants and knowing what to expect of super tasty Thai cuisine, but this place definitely fell short of expectations. Not only is it overpriced, it was $43 for two small noodle dishes and one large soup (takeout), but my “famous” pad Thai was bland, and lacked a substantial amount of salt. The pad Thai and also pad Woon sen lacked the veggies the menu listed them having. The soup was tasty, but it had just a couple tomatoes and mushrooms in broth. Overall out of 10 I’d give a 5. The atmosphere appears clean and smelled of incense which was nice but as far as take out goes, I wouldn’t go back. I’d much rather spend my $43 on copious amounts of Taco Bell, which is sad to even say.
This is a review from someone who will happily eat cold week old McDonald’s cheeseburgers and be satisfied, but whom has also sampled some of the freshest sushi and Kobe beef available in the USA. I’m no where near hard to please, and I tried so hard to enjoy it, but I just didn’t. We will not be returning and I will tell others about my experience as it is honest. Sorry folks..
Miso soup was very flavourful and their portion sizes are very good for the price.
Best Thai restaurant within 300 miles. My favorites are pad Thai, the papaya salad and anything with crispy chicken.
Great food, definitely recommend
Always a delicious and wonderful experience! Love this restaurant--food is Delicious! Best fried Rangoon anywhere! I try a different menu item for my meal each time! The decor is beautiful. The servers and owner are awesome!
Wonderful atmosphere, very serene. Portions are well managed, prices are very agreeable, and the service was phenomenal. Couldn't not enjoy this place
Very good Thai restaurant, staff is great.
Good Thai food. The times for your food to arrive are quite fast. They can make you vegan options. I recommend it.
Amazing food and service!
Fantastic place. Super nice people. Amazing food. Choose your heat level carefully. This is REAL Thai Food.
Get your spices (heat) on the side and adjust it yourself if your dish allows it.
Just Great
Excellent food and fantastic service
Looking forward to next visit
Always a good time here :)
Everything was absolutely wonderful from the staff to the food not a single complaint will be back again!
So let me make this pretty clear I'm a pretty reasonable person. I hardly ever complain about a establishment.
First time being here. Not impressed. Took over a hour to even bring water to the table let alone longer to take our order. The waitress could barley even understand what we were order even tho everything is number coded. Continuously kept forgetting to bring out our drinks and food.. my poor husband went mostly the entire time without anything to drink ON TOP on it the waitress didnt even bring out his order!
In the bathroom they didn't even have a infant changing table and I had to change my son on the bathroom sink with his portable baby mat. Without privacy.. as well there is no high chairs for kids. I literally started to get so annoyed that I packed up my son and sat in the car until the rest of my family members finnished their meal that they still were waiting on.
Place has clutter everywhere. Music is blaring to where I can't even hear the person next to me. Parking was nearly impossible.
Everything was wonderful, service was speedy and food didn’t take long. The sushi my fiancé ordered was unavailable so they substituted it out for a different roll, and gave it to us for free because of the wait. Staff was incredibly friendly and timely, and prices were very good for the portion sizes and quality of food. Will be back next time I’m in the area!
FINALLY got to try this restaurant! First of all, the rattan lamps and real tropical plants and gold Thai decor against the unfinished walls and ceiling is a whole vibe. Cosy while still hip and exciting. Everything including the women’s room was super clean. Second and most important, the food! I’ve been wishing for years that we would get a good Thai place in town and this place does not disappoint! After not being able to decide between 4 different dishes I finally decided on the green curry which was amazing, and now I’m excited to come back and try the other dishes. Third, every staff member we met was extremely polite and stopped to say hi to my little ones. Sincerely hoping this restaurant stays here in the area, we don’t get a lot of places like this. Can’t wait to return!
Very good. One of our new regular spots.
Takeout is convenient :)
To start off I will say everyone’s experiences are different, so I’m not saying others don’t have a great experience here! Unfortunately mine was bad. Our food was served to us cold, and tasted off like it had been sitting out for a while. The waitress noticed we hadn’t been touching our food and offered to take 50% off our bill which was incredibly kind! I went to pay and only received about $2 off. I didn’t say anything because we ordered and I felt obligated to pay what I was asked to pay, but was looking forward to the discount being as we were served pretty bad, cold food. I was told by the cashier that “we must not like Thai food,” but we do. I hope others have better experiences than I did.
I had Salmon in garlic sauce and was all salt. Noodle soup is good. Also when you pay with credit card you do not have a choice for tip. 20% is included right away, you like it or not. I personally like to give tip in cash to server, but this time I didn't have a chance.
had the tom kha soup, famous pad thai with tofu and mango juice, boyfriend had pad kaprao and roti, everything was spectacular. my boyfriend and i will absolutely be returning soon :)
Fancy Thai restaurant with authentic food, lively atmosphere, wonderful service, priced appropriately.
Great sushi! We look forward to many visits.
My wife and I went here for the duck . It was absolutely delicious. I had the basil duck and my wife had the crispy duck. If you like duck you won't be disappointed. Great appetizers as well . Crab Rangoons, dumplings and spring rolls. 😋
Excellent food and beautiful restaurant with a wonderful owner who provides superb attention to her guests! Can't wait to return 😊
If you ever get a chance you got to try this the amazeing place. Its open floor plan.well light, the inside is stunning. and. It super clean. So relaxing to just sit and eat.
The staff is so nice. And they dont rush you out the door, the take the time for you., and the owner is amazeing and so kind and sweet. And visits your table to make sure everything is good.
The food is top rated and oh my soo soo good. We loved every bit of it.
So take the time stop over and have a bit to eat, you will not regreat it..
We arrived around 7:20 and waited until about 8 to be seated.
Didn’t get our food until 8:20-8:30 when the restaurant closes at 9. We waited about 10 minutes before someone took our order.
We were in the middle of eating when the niece of the owner throws to go boxes and bags on our table and states that they need to clean the restaurant for 30 minutes.
She was very rude and to rush paying customers out of the establishment is not professional. And it wasn’t our fault that we had to wait for everything.
Having been employed in customer service I understand what it’s like to have customers stay past closing, it can be frustrating. But you do not turn away money. Especially when we left just 15 mins past closing. They treated us like we were there until 10pm. And we weren’t the only table that they rushed out.
Overall the food wasn’t that great because you could tell it was rushed but still managed to all come out at different times (mine being the last brought out). But then was rushed out! I left the to-go boxes and the food, wasn’t worth bringing home in my opinion. The service was awful, I have never been told to basically stop eating my food and to get out because the niece “has an hour drive home”. Not sure how that’s relevant when I know people who drive 2hrs to and from work and don’t get home until 2am, go to bed, wake up and do it all over again.
Not all of the staff members were terrible. It was mainly the niece and there was a young lady at the front, who was rather short with us as well and all we did was make sure that she had the correct tab in hand, since WE NEVER GOT TO LOOK AT ONE! We weren’t going to assume nor were we going to just pay for whatever they wrote down. It wound up being incorrect and items we did not order were on our bill, but we never got to look at it anyway. Terrible!
We live in Austintown and it was unanimously agreed that we’d much rather continue to travel an hour for our Thai dinner outings.
We will not be going back.
The food is actually really good and the service is amazing the interior could use some work but it’s overall great would recommend
So I have mixed feelings about this place. It's a much needed upgrade to local restaurants and finally something interesting, however the service falls flat for me. There aren't really traditional waiter/waitress roles and specifically one person doesn't specifically check up on your table or come back periodically. Getting a refill or asking for something you need is really difficult to do and it's awkward to get someone's attention. This has been an issue for me every time I've gone here. The food is decent, the menu is big enough with lots of interesting dishes, it's a bit pricey IMO but the service throws me off every time.
Best Thai food we have found since moving to the area. Very good!
Just as lovely as the slippery rock location💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I love the Elephant #8 in Mercer PA. It has delicious food well served and impeccably prepared. And I expected that at Elephant #8 in Sharon. (Foreshadowing) It’s a beautiful place, a nicely designed and appointed restaurant both welcoming and warm. It looks great! And we were welcomed and seated and attended to with grace and charm. Not that deep, but really great customer service.
Then we ate. I got the crispy duck. It was perfectly prepared. The skin was crispy! The duck was cooked perfectly, not over cooked and tough like I seem to always get when I order duck. It was succulent. And it was covered in duck sauce. Sweet duck sauce. A surprise, but it was good. I just did not expect that taste in this place. Wife got Pad Thai. We eat Thai, a lot. All over. That place in Wilmington NC? Many times. (It’s easy to find on Facebook, and you know it when you see the pictures). Myrtle Beach had a couple of great ones. Wives from the Air Base that used to be there. Pittsburgh. Love Nicky’s! And all my assorted friends wives while I was in the Air Force. So, I’m pretty familiar with an authentic Thai taste profile. The five components, and when restaurants leave out seasonings, or dummy down their food for American tastes, don’t like it. Anyways, wife’s Pad Thai she ordered spicy. I had read this place does not do the 1 to 10 spice level thing, well, they don’t. Tried to get it across to the waiter want it spicy, but not hot. Just a bit. But Thai food has to have some heat, even limited heat. The waiter said ok, and brought out her Pad Thai. She tried to eat it, I tried to eat it. (I was in Korea for two years also. I laugh at spicy food) this stuff was hot! The noodles and sauce were full of red pepper. I never send food back. I mean never. This was my first time ever. This wasn’t moderate, it was full on furnace. Which is appropriate for when you say “10” and they try to warn you off. It came back, after I sent it back, zero spice, (so the prior reviews are correct, don’t get spicy, and try to get light, or medium, like literally what every Thai restaurant and home I have eaten at literally around the world has) and covered with that sweet duck sauce stuff. It looked funny when she got it. I’ve never seen Pad Thai before that was literally covered in an orangish sauce. It always looks clean, fresh. That’s one of the reasons I like Thai food so much. It’s seasoned, not sauced, like some plate of chow-mein at the Chinese buffet. And with a fragrance that is so familiar you know it when you get it. I’m assuming the area there prefers sweetly flavored food. Not going back. I am going to the one in Mercer. But not Sharon. I’m not a fan of places that try to fit their food to local tastes. Which is why I hate Asian fusion, but I’ll go because I’ve been warned. And don’t take this as a negative review. I could take my mom here and she would love it. And it was beautiful inside. And the service was great, and I did over-tip when we paid, because I sent back that food. And took all the blame for it when we paid and left. Here’s some pics! The duck was great! The Pad Thai? Not so much. Oh, the summer rolls sucked too. One Thai basil leaf per half? And no seasonings I could detect. Nope, hard pass for me. If anyone reading this who actually knows what they’re saying when they write a review and say “it tastes authentic!” Based on what? That place you ate at in Iowa? Sorry, that was uncalled for. I apologize, it was my fault…
(Take a close look at the Pad Thai. Mmm orange sweet sauce! Oh, seriously, look up five Thai tastes, you’ll say “that’s why it’s so good” at other places. But like I said, mom will love it here)
Ordered take out and the Food was amazing like ALWAYS!!! Fresh and nice portion size 😊
good food
Beautifully decorated, full of plants, and fascinating damaged cement aesthetics. (You'll understand once you visit) The menu was helpful with photos of every dish. Prices felt reasonable (lower then expected). Good food, lots of choices. Recommend the Thai ice coffee and Thai donuts and dumplings.
Great new place. I only tried one item, but it was good. I will go back and reevaluate after I try more of the menu.
Don't sit at the bar area if you want good service. It was very slow.
First time. Food was amazing 👏
We will definitely return
A wonderful addition to our area. We have tried many different items and they are all delicious.
We arrived before opening but crew told us to come on in anyway.
Wonderful
We tried Elephant #8 last Saturday and I have to say it was delicious! My husband and I love trying new food and we will definitely be back! The waiter that was there definitely took the time to explain the menu to us. They were out of crab rangoons when we were there but we will just have to try next time. All in all it was a great experience.
Phenomenal food and wonderful service every time I've visited!
What a wonderful addition this is to our valley! I've only had lunch there a few times but each time the servers are respectful, the food is delicious! Yesterday the restaurant was full of people of all ages and they were all enjoying their lunch!
The slippery rock location and this one are very similar best place to eat feel very welcomed when I come into the restaurant Nina is the best !
Wish they had better seating.
We love Nina. And love her food! We always enjoy our visits here!
Period
It was my first time trying Thai food. I felt the portion sizes and the prices were very reasonable. The food was delicious! The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was very clean. We will definitely be back!
FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL!!! PRESENTATION WAS BEAUTIFUL, ATMOSPHERE WAS WONDERFUL, CUSTOMER SERVICES WAS O. POINT!!!! I RECOMMEND YOU TO GO AND EXPERIENCE PERFECTION AT ITS BEST!!!!😁👍🏾
Not impressed. They were quick to come over and take an order, but when I mentioned I wanted to do a take out order she said do it now because they get really busy. I didn't do a take out.
Food was bland. I ordered the fried rice with chicken. I would've liked to have added salt & pepper but there was none on the table and just trying to get a refill on my water was challenging enough.
Not impressed enough to go back. The owner has large pictures of herself around the restaurant.....so odd.
No alcohol is served, you can bring your own.
My whole family loves Nina
Elephant #8.
If you haven’t tried this place, you are missing out! The very best Sushi I’ve had in a long while! Excellent entrees - you gotta try the Pad Thai. Nina has hit a homerun here!!
Ok today's review is on the Thai restaurant elephant 8 @

Food= appetizer was not good
Appetizer
Yummy plate= meatballs were legit chicken breast with no seasoning. The spring rolls were small and flavorless felt like store bought frozen. Crab rangoon unfortunately was one of the biggest let downs... It was basically a hard shell filled with a large amount of cream cheese and very little imitation crab meat.(not even actual crab) Now I will say the one thing that did taste nice out of the appetizer was the Gyoza dumplings the flavor was very nice and the texture was definitely complimentary. Overall the yummy plate would get 2.5 star out of 5 appearance and dumplings being only thing nice.
Main course
Pad Kee Mao= was delicious. Chicken was tender and flavor packed. Veggies perfectly cooked. Noodles although not something I liked due to texture were still very tasty. Sauce delicious. Portion size was perfect
Overall rating 5 stars out of 5 star
Atmosphere= the building is beautiful, very peaceful inside, looks clean.
5 stars out of 5
Staff is very quick to fill beverages and bring out the food very attentive. Very respectful and they worked very well as a team doing circles around all the tables making sure that everyone was taken care of.
Staff was very polite while yes there was a slight language barrier they did great with there service and trying. (Language barrier was more of a understanding of what we were trying to say not necessarily what they were
5 stars out of 5
Owner is very pushy she mentioned 4 times where we need to pay when done and while attempting to be polite was very overbearing about us needing to finish our food and leave even though we were just there talking and enjoying ourselves not being loud and dressed nicely. Staff definitely felt obligated to be pushy on getting us our check and making sure that we were eating quick to make the table ready for the next customers but not by their own choice but because the owner was pushing it.
1.5 stars out of 5 (in my opinion almost ruined the whole experience)
Pricing= the pricing for everything was very reasonable
Over all rating 3.7 stars
Highly recommend: great food and very helpful and friendly staff!
We do not have experience with Thai food and were taking a while to order. The waitress came over and explained the menu, made suggestions on what we might like, told us popular dishes on the menu and how they would normally be prepared.
Everything was delicious and even my very picky 10 year old found something he liked! Looking forward to going again and trying more of the menu.
I’ve been to both locations, and both are excellent! Best Thai food around. My fav dish is veggie pad thai. Excellent, delicious, healthy food. Can’t wait to come back!
Went there for lunch. Soooo good. Great service. I had veg with fried rice and shrimp. My friend had sushi. She loved it. Delicious soup. Will diffenitely be back. Very friendly
The atmosphere is chill, relaxed and exotic. Modern minimalism with lots of interesting plants to look at. It's like walking in & getting a brain massage. Staff is nice and short & to the point, but VERY fast, catch them when you can. The food is fresh, and the Boba tea, omg it's so pretty & fun to watch the milk mix in. It's delicious, too. I want to go back & try every flavor & try the sushi, haven't tried it here yet. We had the summer roll & I had Curry with the daikon radishes on top?? It was really good. Creamy & supposed to be spicy, but I'm not the best judge. I eat a lot of spicy food, so I'd say mildly spicy.
Awesome place with awesome food.
Sushi is amazing
Really enjoyed my first visit. The food was delicious. I had the basil crispy duck and my son the crispy duck. Both dishes were excellent. The waiting staff were very welcoming and offered great service. I definitely will be back.
Very tasty. Yum yum.
We went to elephant 8 for my friend's birthday party and they were so nice. They even let us stay between lunch and dinner when they usually are closed. If you haven't been here, run here. If you haven't been here, leave a comment and let me know how you enjoyed it.
The place is wonderful. However do you have a gluten free menu. Also do you carry gluten free soy sauce
So amazing, I could go on and on about how good it was, the sushi was so fresh and delicious! The roasted duck noodle soup was excellent, and they gave us and other patrons free veggie springrolls! The older gentleman serving us was so kind and wholesome 🩷 the restaurant is immaculately clean and smelled fresh as soon as we walked in. I have nothing to complain about honestly! Going there made my day so much better, I left with a happy belly and heart! I come from Pittsburgh area and I've had a lot of sushi, and a good bit of thai food, this place had fresher sushi than a lot of the "best" in pittsburgh. It's truly a hidden gem. You'll see me back there soon and you bet I'll be telling everyone how good it was!
We came in wanting sushi and they made sure we got our sushi even though there was a wait. They are amazing at everything they do.
So happy this restaurant is in Sharon!
So happy to have food like this in Sharon!
This is such a nice restaurant in downtown Sharon. The food is great, and the atmosphere is beautiful and expansive. We all got Thai dishes, but they have sushi as well!
Oh my goodness. The food is fantastic. And the in the staff is incredible. I recommend this place highly. A+++
