Vietnamese restaurant doling out traditional soups & noodles in a basic setting. Closed Wednesdays.
My son and I traveled from DE on Thanksgiving I wanted some bun Bo hue soup and this was one of few places open on the holiday. The restaurant is pretty small and dated. But we were promptly seated. Service was great and attentive throughout. I ordered the soup with pho noodles and beef, delicious! However my son ordered shrimp fried rice and it was the worst fried rice I’ve ever seen- esp coming from a place that claims to have Viet & Thai dishes. Therefore I do not recommend that. You can see the rice in the background of my soup pic (this is after I added some hoisin sauce to it, the rice was basically naked!!) Bathroom is extremely small as well in case you were wondering - not the cleanest so if you are particular about that, you may want to go elsewhere. Overall it was an ok experience.
I ordered the #106 pho. The base was really, really good. I am used to a pretty bland soup base.
Staff was friendly and attentive
My favorite part was the hand-painted wall art. Truly amazing work
Food was really good. I got the 101 Pho and 501 spring roll. Both were very delicious however after I was almost done with my noodles I found a hair in the broth. I still had some more left in my bowl but I stopped eating after that because I felt sick after seeing the hair.
Best Vietnamese noodles shop in Philadelphia China town. We go every time when visit Philadelphia for many years. Food quality is consistently good. We ordered special beef noodle soup and BBQ pork chops. Other people also asked what is my order since the pork looks so good and smells so good too. They are also nice people that allow our dog in, sit under the table.
I really enjoyed this place's decor and friendly staff. The portions were incredibly generous. However, the flavor was slightly off and the sauce for some of the dishes was heavy.
Overall a great quick stop for food, though I would recommend sticking to the Pho which looked a lot better!
The best Pho in Philly. Have been several times. Awesome service too!
Great food and the best friendly service. Would recommend to anyone.

This is the best Pho in Philly! Everything about it was perfect, and the portions are generous. Also, the service was impeccable.
My favorite place I have ever been for Pho. I’ve moved around over the years & when I come to visit in Philly I always bring family & friends here!
An amazing hidden gem. Extremely affordable, phenomenal food quality and taste, and incredible service. Cannot recommend highly enough!
外卖全洒,餐具不放、垃圾
I like this place. Beef fried rice. It's my favorite

This is my go-to for a great bowl of pho. Always tastes great and a good value. The owners are also very nice and will do their absolute best to give you top notch service.
Best Pho I've had. No other place can come close.
“ choo choos” is THE SPOT for the most solid bowl of pho in Chinatown. There’s only one size and the portion is pretty large. Their fried spring rolls always come out piping hot and steaming.
Very good restaurant, highly recommend. Friendly staff, delicious food.
超好吃的越式料理,麵很大碗!湯頭很美味很棒!可以吃到很飽~~~很推薦!招待也賓至如歸,過了一頓很棒的晚餐❤️會推薦大家來!
i ate Pho xe lua special, actualy nothing special. I tried broken rice with pork chop, the taste was not vietnamese food, my brother got vermiceli and curry, he said the food aren't Vietmese, the taste like Chinese
Good portions and good price. Staff is friendly as well.
Love this place bro!! Best pho in Philly
Food was really good. I got the 101 Pho and 501 spring roll. Both were very delicious however after I was almost done with my noodles I found a hair in the broth. I still had some more left in my bowl but I stopped eating after that because I felt sick after seeing the hair.
The best summer rolls in Philly. Excellent Thai food for very cheap.
The pho (rice noodle soup) was really good. The crispy fried spring rolls were pretty good. Overall, we were very happy with our meal. The service was fast and efficient. Maybe a bit too fast as they kept taking the menu away. haha
Food is average Vietnam. Its the famous one with the train in the window. Used to go in here regular. Last visit (circa 2010) the guy came running out after we left accusing us of leaving him less cash. I turned around asked him to count the bills. We'd actually paid the full bill and even dropped a 30% tip. Guy didn't apologize just mumbled something and went back in. I find normally Vietnamese are super friendly, but this guy has an attitude because "he's the train restaurant". Train or no train buddy, you'll never see me again.
Food was fine, but service alone was enough to rate this restaurant a 0 and ensure we don’t come back. I’ve been here multiple times, and we’ve never had this issue before.
I ordered #122 (egg/rice noodle soup) on the menu but the waitress accidentally served me the wrong dish. She served me #121, which was called the seafood egg noodle soup. It was full of shellfish which I am highly allergic to. When I told the waitress of the error, she claimed that while I did order #122 correctly, all eggs/rice noodle dishes automatically come with seafood. This isn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu and it wasn’t mentioned when I ordered as well. And when I told her I was highly allergic to shellfish so I cannot eat this dish, she stared at us in silence not offering us any solutions. She then yelled at us claiming that we should have asked earlier before ordering. She continued to say that I didn’t know how to order or read the menu, making us feel uncomfortable and unable to communicate with her further. At the end, my friend offered to switch her plate with me because our waitress just wanted to continue yelling without helping at all. The waitress picked up the wrong, unwanted dish from my plate and gave it to my friend, who just offered to eat it out of courtesy. Even though my friends and I were clearly uncomfortable the waitress acted like she solved the issue herself when she switched my friends order with mine and neither of us had the food we wanted. This waitress clearly did not care about serious allergies and how this could negatively affect my health.
Throughout this whole interaction, she would also barely look at me while talking to me about my dish and my allergies. Instead, she would look at a different member in my party who was not involved in this. She refused to look at me, which just made it even more uncomfortable for everyone at the table.
This one instance was enough for me to never come back even though the food is normally great.
Hidden gem, amazing food!
The service is amazing and I used to love this place! The pho was my go to. But unfortunately I ordered pho today, ate some at the restaurant, and packed it up to eat the rest home. I got home to eat the rest and I’m so upset because I discovered a bug in my pho!!! This is so disappointing this place was my favorite but this is literally disgusting.
Great pan-friend noodles with chicken and large portion!
We had a take-away dinner from this place and we didn't regret
Dine-in should be fun as well
Great food at a fair price. Large portions and soups are plenty for 2. Service excellent. The chicken pad Thai was wonderful.
I really enjoyed this place's decor and friendly staff. The portions were incredibly generous. However, the flavor was slightly off and the sauce for some of the dishes was heavy.
Overall a great quick stop for food, though I would recommend sticking to the Pho which looked a lot better!
Food is great! I got chicken pho! Staff was friendly, place was buzzing with ppl enjoying their food!
Favorite restaurant in the city.
Pad Thai sauce has strong ketchup and sugar taste with oval happed noodles, zero stars. BBQ beef and Lemongrass chicken were amazing, 5 stars. Service was wonderful.

I really wanted to love this place for it’s incredibly large menu of several types of East Asian cuisine, it is also very inexpensive, but I think it’s important to know a few things about what you’re walking into. First, this is Chinese owned, you’re not going to have the authenticity of a Thai or Vietnamese restaurant. I consider this more like an Asian diner—a huge variety of options, but you’re not going to get the best quality if you order something like a pasta or steak. The food is edible, but the seasonings, spices and flavors are off.
I ordered the pad thai and it was incredibly tangy-sour and orange, also made with pho noodles. I also ordered the Vietnamese bun (noodle salad) which was more authentic, but felt like it was very basic. Tables next to me ordered noodle soups, which definitely looked better.
Looking back, I’d go somewhere with fewer options that specializes in one type. I was really hungry and really craving Asian food/couldn’t decide between Thai and Vietnamese, so this felt like the best option. I’d stay away from the pad thai and stick with the noodle soups or rice dishes if you come here.
I Came here for my friend’s 18th birthday dinner and left never wanting to come back to this place. Ordering our food was ok, the waitress was very snappy about what we were telling them we wanted. I’m not sure if that’s because of the language barrier or not. I received my plate of fried noodles cold and asked to return it, that’s when one other waitress made a huge fuss and went on huge tyrant about the dish when I was simply saying My food was cold I no longer want it?? I was basically gaslit by the female employee that the food is served hot when I told her my dish was cold. Not only did she make my friends uncomfortable but she was very loud with the ordeal so everyone else could hear too. Nevertheless I said I don’t want to be billed for the cold food. We all finished and left. I wouldn’t recommend any black person to step in here. Especially if you’re a black person that looks young, THEY WILL TREAT YOU A CERTAIN WAY!!!!
Good service with good food overall.
This food was some of the most vile Thai food I've ever had in my life. I had ordered the Thai Green curry and what I had gotten was slimy boiled chicken, a handful of peas and mushrooms in a curry sauce that had the texture of snot. Tasting the pho broth that my partner had ordered had some of the same problems. Slimy chicken in a broth that tasted like dishwater. Being in a large party on a Saturday night I understand why some of the food was taking more time than others but two people had waited about 45 minutes to an hour for their food while everyone else at our table had only waited for about 20 minutes. In a sea of other competition in Chinatown, this place drowns.
amazing Pho, large portions
Been coming here since 2001. Love their pad Thai and lemongrass chicken with rice. Will continue to keep coming back until I'm old old.
The pho was delicious! The Thai and Vietnamese iced coffee was on a different level of flavor. 10/10 experience! Very quick service.
A decent Chinese-owned Vietnamese restaurant.
We, as a group of 6, came to the restaurant. The menu is huge, from noodles to rice, to choose from. The price is very reasonable that we got 5 dishes for 80 dollars.
The food came out really fast, and they were good but I was not too impressed. We got chả giò and bánh cuốn for appetizers. Chả giò were great: they were crunchy and went well with the dipping sauce. Bánh cuốn were pretty much okay. Next, for the main, we got a bò lúc lắc, thịt lợn kho, and canh chua. They tasted delicious and had a lot of flavors, but I would pick the bò lúc lắc as the best one here. Definitely a must to eat with rice 🍚
Did not try any phở or bún so I would love to come back and try more of what they have.
Service is quick but food is not good. My wife and I order two separate noodle but both tasted like instant noodle. My bun bo hue was not spicy and has a strong pork odor. The seafood Tom yum flavor contain mostly cheap imitation crab meat. If you are hungry, do yourself a favor and skip this spot. Try pho 20 around the corner would be a better Vietnamese food option. We were extremely disappointed and left hungry.
I actually brought take out.
friendly staff and delicious pho! I got the medium and the portion was surprisingly big. the egg rolls were also pleasingly large.
Not spectacular, but decent. I had the seafood noodles, which were adequate with a copious application of sriracha. The seafood didn’t taste super fresh and I suspect it was frozen, the sauce was a bit bland, and there wasn’t much in the way of vegetables, but it wasn’t bad either.
The service was a bit spotty too. The staff was very friendly, but they didn’t serve everyone at our table at the same time, and one member of our party had to wait until we were nearly done to be served. I’ve had better and worse experiences.
The best restaurant in Chinatown! They have a great lineup of dishes and I really enjoy the lemon chicken with broken rice and broccoli.
This is one of the first Vietnamese pho restaurant I ate when I came to Philly over 10years ago, and surprisingly, their quality still holds well though I heard there was a change of ownership a couple of years ago.
Wonderful joint! Great prices and delicious food. I got the special bun because of the summery heat. Delightful! I got the Rainbow Ice drink and it was soooooooooo good. I had been trying to find a place that had this type of treat 🤤
Hidden little gem that slaps
Under staff, need more staff to attend to customers. The egg roll meat smells rotten.
I got the 005 coconut drink and 305 vermicelli. It was absolutely delicious. A solidly authentic and often overlooked treasure hiding in china town
Possibly the best Pho Bo I've had outside of Vietnam. Huge portions too.
We came about 45 minutes before closing and asked if it was okay to sit and eat they said yes. We wereseated and everything seemed cool until I realized the waiter was luring over us as we were looking at the menu. This carried on the entire evening which created and uncomfortable atmosphere and made me want to leave. Due to this I felt I was forced to get to go boxes though the lady said you guys can eat here as everyone continued to watch every moment of us once the food was received. The worst part of the night was the hostess in the the front was taking pictures of us and it was the most uncomfortable experience ever.
Found this place while driving by. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food is delicious. I definitely liked how our server took it upon herself to tell us what to eat! Ha! I’m glad she did because the food and drinks we got were beyond anything we expected, in a very good way! Can’t wait to come back
So good. Super quick service, always an open seat, good prices, and great food.
We went to this restaurant because the reviews seemed to be really good. While the wait was short, the food was very disappointing. We ordered 3 dishes: Pho, pad Thai, and green curry chicken rice.
1. Soup base of the Pho had no flavor, and the beef was not tender enough.
2. Pad Thai had ZERO "wok hei" and it tasted like noodles mixed with ketchup and water. I could do better at home. Also, the noodles were very mushy.
3. The green curry chicken rice was ok, but the sauce could be better.
I definitely will not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try authentic Vietnamese or Thai food.
The food here is simply delicious, I enjoyed the service and overall dining experience.
I am from out of town and I have to say the food was delicious
Food was very good and the service was fast. People were friendly.
I’ve been going here and getting the same dish since 2007. The quality has stayed consistent for all these years and I love coming back here. A++ must try #210
I wish I could give more than 5 starts. The service was excellent. Food came out fast. Rice was perfect. Soup was delicious. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thank you
Vert good food and smoothies ! One of the best places I've tried in chinatown.
This is the place, people.
Food is awesome
Do not order pad Thai here. It was a mass of noodles with a strange tangy red sauce, jalapeno peppers, a few pieces of broccoli and stringy, tough Chinese broccoli, snow peas and tofu. I left most of it, told her it was not good but there was no offer to remove or reduce the charge or replace it with a different selection. The veggie summer roll was lackluster but the spicy peanut sauce was tasty. I would not recommend ordering Thai food here. I was frankly disappointed and will not be going back.
Great Pho!!! The papaya salad is very good too. It was busy but service was quick and friendly. Did I mention the Pho was great?? 🙂
A good Vietnamese restaurant in Philadelphia. The portion is big, the place is relatively clean, there are a variety of dishes, like noodles, rice, meat, salad. Every time I go to Philadelphia, I try this restaurant. The summer rolls are delicious and I am satisfied with the food. There are hand sanitizer in the restaurant too.
I went there is night and I looked around the place was BEAUTIFUL! The phố was GREAT! (not to mention the spring rolls!) You should definitely go there!
The pho is always on point and my wife and I could never complain about anything
Ordered the 106. pho and the Tom Yum soup. Food came extremely fast! The pho had a flavorful savory broth but not a good variety of promised meats. Paired well with the chili oil sauce on the table though. The Tom Yum soup was not as rich as it could be, wouldn’t recommend ordering it.
Such a nice atmosphere and tasty food! So many options to choose from. You will love it
Food was on point. And the service was quick. Very kind and presentation was perfect.
Delicious pho and cafe sua da!
The food is really good but it's of pricey, But like I said food is good.
Always on point with the food. My favorite is #134.
This is the best pho place in the city. You walk in, they sit you down, take your order, it's out in less than 10 minutes and it's ripping hot and delicious every time. Nobody tries to talk to you or watch you, everything is fast and delicious and inexpensive.
Delicious pho! Great price!
Pho Ga was just as I remembered it from Saigong
Their Bún bò Huế is good; the soup is flavourful but light enough for a late night snack. A little sad that they don’t have blood jelly in it, but their pork hock pieces are big and soft which makes up for it. Customer service is really great as i was dashing in after 10pm during the staffs dinner time and the chief stops eating to cook me a fresh bowl. Thanks!
Comida deliciosa y servicio amable
Great Vietnamese cuisine
Incredibly favorful food. I ordered vegetarian lad thai. It was delicious. Even my BF liked the tofu. The waiter was very helpful and friendly.
My absolute favorite Vietnamese in China town everything is fresh the owners are so sweet and they have a huge menu. The lemongrass shrimp is my favorite So I get it everytime along with another dish! I usually try to sample something new everytime I go and they have yet to disappoint!
This place was so great! Quality of the food was great, and the portions were bigger than expected on the pho even though I didn't order the largest size. I didn't move at all - it was delicious, and our server happily packed it up for me to go.
Love how lively it was inside - you can tell there are a lot of regulars, including couples, groups, and individuals dining in, and also via takeout/delivery apps.
This was my first time, but my partner grew up in Philly and has loved this place for over a decade - says it's somewhat of a hidden gem that locals frequent, but tourists don't necessarily bat an eye at. To me, that's ideal, because sometimes Center City is crawling with convention goers or tourists, and you just need a place to duck into a feel Philly. This spot certainly fit the bill.
Whenever I'm visiting a new place I always try out a pho restaurant with Bún bò Huế. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have blood jelly even though on their menu they had a photo of Bún bò Huế with blood jelly in it. They give a lot of noodles and a decent amount of meat, but not much garnish. I wouldn't say their Bún bò Huế tasted amazing, but it was decent. Overall I still liked it and they have great customer service!
I wasn't impressed by the quail appetizer. The pho is decent but considering it's in philly i don't know that i would come for the pho.
great service, great pho, great price. A pleasant surprise.
Delicious pho 😋
I have been here twice and both occasions I have been disappointed in the food in both the quality and the quantity. Let me start saying that went I order the basil mix chicken and shrimp and didn't want to have white rice, I ask if I could have more vegetal instead, the answer of the server was I am not the chef. Kind of rude, but I let it slide. My food came with tom yum chicken soup, which had no taste and was cold worse I had tasted.
Went my main course arrived, I saw that my petition was denied and that not even that, the amount of shrimp was very minimal, and the portion of the vegetable was less than my friends. I ended not eating the dish because I was very disappointed with the food and service that I received. I highly recommended not to eat here or make any request because like the service told me "I am not the chef".
Beef Pho was great! I would visit again!
One of the best Pho. Im very picky when it come to Pho but i must say definitely love it here!!
I ordered for my usual lonely Christmas pho... Instantly put me in a better mood! This food is so delicious and well thought out! I will definitely be ordering from there again! Yuuuuummmmyyy! That you for making food that made me feel things
Service is really fast, affordable and super yummy!
Some of the best Pad Thai in the city!
This restaurant was so nice, I had to come back months later to post a positive review. The restaurant was cozy, the staff was attentive and friendly, and most importantly, the food was delicious. My wife and I haven't eaten beef, tendon, and rice noodle soup as good as what we had here since we visited Philadelphia. Our expectations for future pho restaurants we visit are higher because of this restaurant. 10/10!
Looks a bit sketch from the outside but is nice and clean inside. Got the large (smallest size) pho and it was still a lot of noodles 👍
My lucky stars under the Chinese Zodiac sign of Sheep led me here to graze and I'm happy! The food is delish, not expensive and the service is impressive. As a gluten free grazer I appreciated that the waiter and Chef took the time to stop by the table and speak to me about options. I'll be baaaa-ck.
Been my place for 6 years now still fire. Only thing is the liquor is no longer served but it’s still amazing!!!
Used to come here back in high school and college. Great variety of soups beyond pho which is comforting. Tentative staff, adequate space for larger parties.
What a great establishment in Chinatown, I had a great experience at this restaurant. The waitress was vary nice and vary accommodating, the Pho was so delicious. Definitely recommend checking this great restaurant if you in the Downtown/Chinatown area, I will definitely be returning. 🍲
It was alright, but their milkshakes were disappointing, and the pho broth was very uneven.
Great pho, now byo.
The food was very tasty, good service and homey atmosphere. Honestly better than most of the pho I've had in NYC's Chinatown. Will definitely come back whenever I visit or pass by Philly again
