Trio BYOB has been a staple Asian BYOB restaurant in the Fairmount/Art Museum Area since 2006. Serving a wide range of Asian cuisine with an emphasis on Thai. We also offer Takeout and Delivery Service in the neighborhood. Checkout our daily dinner specials and more on our website.
I've gotten take-out here a few times and it's always delicious.
Things I or friends have gotten and enjoyed: Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles), Pad Thai, the crispy duck, the crispy wings, the pineapple fried rice, and the chow fun.
The only thing we've gotten so far and not loved was the samosas.
We're visiting from NY and wanted lunch at a spot close to the Art Museum. Trio was a great decision. Ive been to many thai spots and this one is in my top 3. The samosa appetizer was very delicious and that peanut sauce on the side elevated it to another level. In the picture is the drunken noodles with beef (level 4 spicy) and also steak w/potatoes. Both were insanely delicious. The staff is also very friendly. Highly recommend this place.
Great experience. Food was great! My 7 yo declared the chicken satay as the best chicken he’s had.
Still talking about the food the next day!!! I love Thai food but so many places are hit or miss. This experience was an absolute hit! The atmosphere is casual and food was unique and amazing.
I usually shy away from ordering seafood out because I don’t like the “fishy” taste but based on a recommendation we ordered the beggars pouches. Wow. They were crispy outside and they had a lovely flavor of crab and shrimp. Next we ordered a special that was unique and truly worth the trip, drunken noodles with house made pastrami. The pastrami was tender and brought just enough smokey flavor to enhance the dish not but overwhelm it. This dish was over the top delicious. On another recommendation we ended the meal with the Macadamia coconut tart. I’m not a huge fan of coconut but the recommendations from the staff were so spot on that I figured we’ll give it a try and again it did NOT disappoint. The flavors were well blended and the roasted macadamia brought a sweet nutty flavor.
Since COVID we have become so used to mediocre meals when we go out to eat but TRIO is hands down one if the best meals I have had in the last 2 years.
We usually get take away on nights I don't want to cook. Last night the Seafood Risotto was excellent. A new Bulgogi for us was good also. Normal for us is excellent crab cakes and duck. Try them you will love the food and if you visit the restaurant will find it comfortable and friendly. We have never had a bad meal here.
This place is difficult to review because the food is good and we have had consistently good meals when ordering delivery, which is why I am giving it three stars. Unfortunately the experience in the actual restaurant is quite terrible and I would not recommend physically going there. First, when we arrived to a totally empty restaurant (minus one couple dining) we were asked if we have a reservation. When we said "no" I was met with a "oh no...well, let me check.....". Then after a few minutes we were seated at a terrible table right in the way it the door (mind you it is snowing and cold at this time). We asked for a high chair for my daughter and we got one -the belt was completely broken (buckles missing, just tied together). We asked to a different chair, obviously. Then we were given different menus - I was interested in the skirt steak, by my husband's menu listed a strip steak. We asked which menu was correct - server said, "they're the same, we just have one type of steak" which is weird (these are obviously different types if cut). Now I realize that this is not a steak House, so I was not expecting to be amazed, but after I ordered I was told that neither one of the steaks was actually available but a different one for $2 more was available which is exactly the same but has a different sauce. Fine, I just want some red meat today, so I go for it. They didn't even ask "how would you like it cooked?" And it came out cold but "well done". The rest of the food was good. Unfortunately the service continued to suck. Dishes were just left piled up on the very small table, waters were not refilled, had to literally wave over to the two servers (who were on their phones and not coming by either of the two tables, see pictures) to ask for some water. The whole time it felt like we were a nuisance and interrupting text time. Oh, and none of the other tables ever got anyone seated in them so I really don't know why we weren't just seated in a normal location, and right away. Final verdict -i will keep ordering take out. I will not go here to dine again.
Great experience. Food was great! My 7 yo declared the chicken satay as the best chicken he’s had.

The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I highly recommend TrioBYOB!
Love Trio! Consistently good food and take out is delivered extremely fast. Neighborhood gem.
A go to that never disappoints. Yellow curry with shrimp, any of the soups, the stir fry's, you name it.
Great take out in Fairmount!
food was really really good! spring rolls and chicken satay are must-haves. server was also wonderful, very helpful.
This is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. Best drunken noodles. They are great about giving us a nice spice 🔥 and they listen to me when I say no onions. I'm so happy that Trio is here.
Food is always delicious and service is great. Order take out 2-3 times per month. Always delivered quickly and fresh and friendly staff! Go to dished are curry and Thai basil stir fry :)
Was our first time. Several neighbors had stated place was good and food very good. For us the table was little sticky not sure why. The air duct needs to be cleaned. Also now my be good time to repaint.
I live in the building that Trio is connected to and this has been both good and bad for me cause the food is excellent and fresh, which makes me want to spend a lot of money here, lol! Fortunately, they do provide generous portions at a fair price. My go-to is the pad thai and I am able to get two meals out of it. The employees are always so nice when I come in as well. Thank you!
I could eat the drunken noodles every night.
We usually get take away on nights I don't want to cook. Last night the Seafood Risotto was excellent. A new Bulgogi for us was good also. Normal for us is excellent crab cakes and duck. Love this place. Always friendly service and delicious food. Pad Thai, pastrami drunken noodles, and duck are standouts, but really never had a bad meal here.
Great food, wonderful service and good atmosphere. I eat in at Trio BYOB at least once a month and offer for pick up at least 2 times per month.
The specials are always fun to try and are a big success
Absolutely love this place. Their pad Thai is second to none!
On Saturday I ordered takeout . It taste delicious. Soon after I felt extremely sick to the point I went to the hospital. I have food poison. It’s now two days later and I am still completely sick. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone ever!
I've been a customer of Trio BYOB for almost a decade. And I can honestly say they're the best Thai restaurant in the city. Everything is always tasty and fresh. I like the fact that they have their own ordering website which works very well so you don't have to deal with tech disruptors and they also do their own delivery. The delivery guy is friendly, courteous and kind.
But getting back to the food, they also offer creative specials which you can also order via delivery, as well as dining in. That includes desserts. And what desserts! Hazelnut torte, panna cotta. Very impressive. I rave about this place to everyone I know. Stop by and experience Thai food that is a cut above.
A favorite for takeout/delivery in Fairmount! Stir fries, noodle dishes and specials are dependably delicious 😋
Wow. What a great restaurant!! The staff is great. They are really knowledgeable about the cuisine. The owners are super. The food is terrific. I love the duck and the drunken noodles. When i want a littlr spice i get the khao soi, which is a spicy noodle dish. Plus, if you're lucky to get the spicy dumplings, you'll become addicted.
Our go-to Thai spot in the neighborhood! Highly recommend the Pad See Yew and Pad Thai. Great vegetarian appetizers as well.
Always great food and great service. Perfect for dining in, takeout, or delivery. Everything I have ever ordered from Trio is delicious.
Favorite neighborhood spot and some of the best Thai food in the city!
The kindest, most wonderful people with fantastic food. I haven’t had a single bad app, entree, or dessert.
I LIVE for the specials, especially their soups. I check daily to see what the new soup is!
You will not be disappointed!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city :)

Where do I begin with this place?! This is the best Thai restaurant in the city! Hands down! The food is unbelievably amazing. Appetizers like samosas, seafood dumplings, fried calamari, chicken satay & spring rolls are all great options that are very delicious & authentic. But their beggars pouches might be one of my favorite appetizers in the entire city! Their drunken noodle is the best one I’ve ever had from any Thai restaurant I’ve ever visited. But you definitely can’t go wrong with other delectable dishes like the kung pao, pad see ew, Thai basil chicken, or the Thai fried rice. Their pad Thai is the best in the city in my opinion as well. & their Thai curry is unbelievably delicious, no matter which option you select(green, red or yellow). I prefer the green but I definitely enjoyed the others a whole lot. The crispy duck dish is top tier & paired with an ever changing sauce that never disappoints. All of their sauces are made in house & are ridiculously flavorful. Best peanut sauce & Thai chili sauces I’ve ever tried. & the service their is top tier. The last time I was there I waited on by Tevin! He was probably the best waiter I’ve ever had-nice, attentive, sweet & unbelievably friendly. & everything I had the last time I went was so delicious it made me regret moving away from that area of the city. I kept taking bites even after I knew I was full. I couldn’t help it! The deserts were even better than they’re appetizers & entrees. Most deserts are made in house by one of the owners, Mike, who may be one of the best desert chefs in the city! & the other owner, Van Chau, may be the nicest person in the world. If you want to eat amazing food, support a local business & be around great people I highly recommend this place.
Theres nobody here, this place is not busy at all but is awesome! The food was great and the waiter was really nice.
Trio has become one of my favorite restaurants in the city! Great service and amazing food - cant go wrong with the garlic chive dumplings, drunken noodles, thai basil stir fry, or pad Thai.
Everyone was friendly and the service spectacular, akin to the level of hospitality you would experience as a guest in someone's home. The atmosphere is quaint and comfortable. The food was sensational. I live near by and am happy to say I think we found our Thai go-to.
Can't say enough great things about this place! The food is amazing, it is reasonably priced and the service is great!
Great restaurant in the neighborhood, a staple in our family
Been here twice now and have enjoyed the food and staff both times. While the food is great here, the staff really shines. We had a large group birthday party and they went above and beyond by candeling and serving the cake we brought and uncorking our wine. On top of getting all our orders correct, the food never disappoints. It’s always a toss up if we order a herd of the delicious appetizers or commit to an entire. We will definitely be back every time we visit.
Fresh and flavorful! Love Trio for take out or dine in. Staff is friendly. Always great experience!
Excellent takeout spot. Food is always delicious and the portions are very fair.
We're visiting from NY and wanted lunch at a spot close to the Art Museum. Trio was a great decision. Ive been to many thai spots and this one is in my top 3. Best peach cobbler ever, last evening. Super shrimp special. Always great service in lovely atmosphere & location.
Underrated Thai place, just because of the location! Generous portions, great flavor, nice staff, and our food was ready for pickup within 15 minutes.
The pan fried garlic chive dumplings, drunken noodles, and crispy pork chops were all so flavorful!
Poor Hygiene. Dishes smell like soap, and I got stomach upset and vomit.
Ordered pork ribs the other night. Placed two orders in error and glad I made the mistake. Took the order home and ended up eating them both!! Decent sized orders and the ribs were awesome.
Don’t sleep on this place… their lemongrass lamb meatball drunken noodles and alll the apps are the stuff dreams are made of.
Warning: NOT vegan friendly at all! Just had the worst experience here with my party despite calling ahead and confirming vegan items were available instead was embarrassed having to deal with two teenage new wait staff with zero knowledge of the menu and a chef that doesn't speak English and all of which acted like we were aliens to even request clean wholesome food.
It was a 20min struggle to identify what could be prepared without animal contamination and it ended up being just 3-4 entrees after much back and forth. I confirmed 4 entrees were chosen yet were only served 3.. the cherry on top was that eventually we noticed the kitchen was being cleaned and closed as they forgot to finish serving our order... that's beyond incompetence.
After endless mishaps the waitstaff apologized for the hundredth time now except now for completely forgetting the additional orders while everyone's else meal was ruined in the freezing cold restaurant which has a lock on the thermostat.. I think that's how they sell you on hot beverages not sure because you will need tea to be warm in there.
They don't have a bathroom and instead direct you to the main building bathroom which is much nicer. Tables weren't cleaned and there was no condiment trays. Even after all this they made sure to add every last expense to the bill with 0 consideration of how bad a job they did when we could have just left 5 different times throughout!
When given a tip at counter they ignorantly placed the change back on the table not understanding what a tip is..
All-in-all very unprofessional and not a place to take a group if you want a reasonable experience. Needs new management desperately.
Restaurants that don't understand dietary preferences and allergies and can't even keep patrons warm shouldn't be in business in my opinion. The entire point of eating out instead of cooking if for the better experience and convenience.
We just finished an amazing takeout. We had eaten here when they first opened at this location and we weren’t impressed. We stayed away. Won’t make that mistake again. The food was fantastic.
Delicious apps, nice big servings. Feels like a discovery. Yum
Great food, amazing service and ambiance.
Spectacular service! This place is the truth
Food is always good at Trio, though the Crispy Duck did not travel that well.
Delicious Thai food! I've taken out from here twice and was satisfied both times. They have a large menu and prepared the food very quickly. Drunken noodle and yellow curry are favorites and the wings are very flavorful!
Food is awesome. I order the drunken noodles regularly...amazing. Delivery is really quick too.
Delicious food! Super friendly staff! Highly recommend. Their Thai Basil Stir-fry is delectable!
Trio littered the streets in my neighborhood with menus for the second time within a month. Have more respect for the neighborhood you are attempting to conduct business in.
1 and done.
1/4 of our order was missing, it was a hassle to get our refund. Called and spoke with them twice...Ended Up having to go back to the store to get a refund. Food that we received was subpar. Would not recommend. Too many other local good restaurants/bars to give this place another try
Food is great! Service is too.
Good food and atmosphere
Very nice. I had a wonderful crispy duck
Our favorite local byo.
Very delicious, spicy Thai food priced right..
Waitresses were rude and upset all of the friends I brought. Was impatient with us about how to pay. My friends are from different countries so English isn't their strong suit but they still were clear. Instead of having everyone else pay separately we each had to figure out how much our stuff costed when the waitress could have just fixed that. She completely forgot to take my payment and my friends were so upset they suggested I don't even pay especially since the waitress didn't take notice to get my payment. I ended up telling her how much my food costed. The other waitress laughed, not sure what was so funny, maybe that I paid when I could have walked out or that her friend forgot to take my payment. The food also sucked. Bad experience and bad end to an otherwise good day.
Empty and very cold. Service only fair and there were only 4 tables full.

Was able to reserve for a large party dinner last minute). Very quiet and intimate (weren’t too many other people there). Food portions are large and good quality for the low price point. Staff was friendly and accommodating for those who can’t handle too much spiciness. Recommend the drunken noodles!
Thai BYOB in the first floor of 2601. The menu is mostly classic Thai dishes.
Went to this place last night the food was amazing & waiter was very nice I ordered green curry with chicken so so so good
2018-APR-20 Service = Trill.
BYO Rosé...Snaps to ma Gurl, Abby Wit Da Camouflage Booty on the Wine Down Select.
Patrons From The Future: Get Down on them Grass Fed Lemon MeatBalls Wit da Drunk Spaghettis...yeah... Do That and Ya Night Gonna be 'Aight.
I enjoyed the drunken noodles with maximum spice.
The quality of the service was surprisingly good. The server was very helpful and nice. The downside was the food. It was boring, less than average. I would grade it a C
Mmmm thai food
We had delivery from this restaurant a few weeks ago. Just ordered again to the same address and they called us back 15 minutes later to tell us they won't deliver to our address (in center city). They should know where they deliver to and be consistent. Won't be ordering or visiting here in the future.
Great food, great atmosphere.
We have ordered from here many times and as I eat my delicious left overs I am compelled to share how good this place is. Consistently 5 stars!
A bit bland for Thai food
Excellent Thai food, especially the Drunken Noodles.
"The best Thai food in Fairmont "
Great food, the sea food hot pot is a must try!
Ouch, bad service from start to finish mars a mediocre, at best, BYOB meal.
Things got off to a bad start when we were walking to the restaurant at 7:30 and got a call from the owner telling us our reservation was unacceptable. We used open table, that we got to from Trio's website, 8 hours before and somehow they did not see the reservation until the actual time of the reservation and they thought they gave our table away.
In the end we got seated quickly in a more than half empty restaurant.
I hoped that things would improve from there, but instead the went downhill. Seated at 7:40, apps ordered by 8:00; wrong apps delivered sloppily at 8:30, correct apps delivered at 9:05. Oh, the apps were soup and when ordered them we were told it was premade and no changes were possible; what takes 30 plus minutes to ladle soup into a bowl? I also want to point out that the wrong apps were delivered with half of the soup having spilled all over the plate underneath and onto the spring rolls on the other plate. The server still tried to place this mess on the table.
When our food finally came it was average at best. No special flavors or presentation in the food. I have had dishes as good from Trader Joe's frozen department. And those dishes were not as expensive and they did not take as long.
The final insult comes with your credit card returned to you with an IPad and the tip is suggested on the front screen in bold; if you want to tip at another level, you have to hit "another option" while the waiter hovers over you to see what you are tipping.
All in all, I am sorry I tried this place. I will not venture back. I recommend you spend your money at a place that has better food, better service, and an overall experience that would be more enjoyable. Philadelphia has so many excellent BYO restaurants, it is not worth your trouble here.
Excellent food, great patio seating. Loved it.
The food was good but not overwhelmingly so. For the price I expected a little bit more. However the rooftop on a nice summer night is very comfortable combined with the byob made for a relaxing evening. I'll go there again to try another plate, but not before trying some other places out first.
Went here based on a recommendation of a friend who lives nearby. The food was excellent, I got my order really quick and the portions were generous. Try the drunken noodles. The staff are very friendly and helpful and allow you to play with the amount of heat you want.
Trio is a great neigborhood restaurant. The food is tasty and reasonably priced.
Went here with a large group of high school students on a trip, and had a catered type meal. It was excellent food and the service was great, especially since they were serving 70 high school kids.
