The food was absolutely horrible, the rice was super salty , Thai basil fried rice with shrimp, spice level 3 . Thai chicken wings. All horrible! I would never order from here again! The was an Uber delivery, so I don't know what the restaurant looks like. The Uber service was courteous. I have pics!!!
Food was so terrible! We order shrimp Tom yum soup , only got 2pc shimp and a lot a lot onion which is cost $9.99. And cashew nut chicken only 5 small pieces chicken and a lot a lot bell pepper which is cost $15.55. Also When we ordered, we told the waitress that will share with my little boy, make sure not spicy, but still got the spicy chicken in the end. Very terrible experience, after spending $50, still had to buy a burger. Will Never come back .
I came to this place for dinner following Google recommendations, the dining room is very small, there are only 4 tables, the waiter was a nice and warm guy but his level of English was limited: I wanted a strawberry juice and on the menu it said strawberry buba, I asked him to explain to me what buba means and he couldn't explain to me, so i ordered and it was like a milkshake. The menu is confusing because the names of some of the ingredients are unknown, as the names of the dishes. I ended up with Thai rice that lacked flavour and was not as crunchy as I remembered it should be, my friend ordered a ramen, the waiter asked me the level of spiciness, I assumed it was for my dish, so I asked for a high level, it ended up being for my friend's dish, which left him unable to finish his meal. The waiter is a good man, but he needs to learn more English if he wants to communicate with his customers in the US.
This is one of my favorite Thai spots. I usually get the Panang curry. I’ve ordered out and dined in at this place. They have a few seats for dining in but it seems to mostly operate as a carry out place. Service while ordering in was a little slow but if you’re willing to wait, the food is worth it.
Super surprised at how good this place was. I got the Tom Yum Noodle Soup, spice level 5, and a Thai iced coffee at the end. They definitely brought the heat, my nose was running the whole time, but it wasn’t unbearable, it was absolutely perfect. And the flavor was out of this world. Seriously, this place knocked my socks off. Can’t wait to go back and try something else (although I’m going to be tempted to get the same thing again because I loved it so much). The Thai iced coffee was super good too.
Smells incredible as soon as you walk in. Makes you want to order everything. I highly recommend the curries, tom kha soup, drunken noodles, and the mango sticky rice. Be careful- you might end up dreaming about their food! Space is small, with about 5-6 tables. They also do takeout.
Hidden gem! I was very happy with the food and the service. If you like spicy but don’t want to over do it get level 2 I had the drunken noodles and it was delicious

nine thai was okay, i had previously ordered takeout which was great m. when i came back this time the food wasn’t the same and the thai iced tea was dangerously sweet and couldn’t be consumed
The food is not like other Thai restaurants. I got the mango curry & it’s just water. I’ve never had Thai curry that was so watery. I do love Thai so I wanted to try something else. I got the pad see ew and it just as awful as the Thai curry. The noodles were already broken up/chopped?
Which I’ve never experienced.

Great food. Especially the Tom Kha noodles

Nine Thai rocks
The food always tastes amazing every time we order :) it's my comfort food
Ich hatte die street Nudeln das war nicht so meins vielleicht gibt es dort sachen die besser schmecken ansonsten waren sie sehr freundlich.
5 stars isn't enough !!! This place is incredible. I spent some time in Thailand earlier this year and since coming back I've been so disappointed every time I eat Thai food in America. Not this time!! The Thai Basil fried rice transported me right back there and the pad thai was so perfectly saucy. Literally cannot recommend this place enough. Like seriously

Been living in the neighborhood a while but this is the first time we checked out Ninethai. Curry and noodles dishes were all fantastic as were the dumplings, service was fun, kids found plenty to like and the bill was under $60 with even a little leftover for today's lunch. BYO for the record.
Food is great. Recommending calling or ordering in person, as there are 5 different websites for this restaurant who are likely ordering food for you behind a third party.
Their khao mun gai has healing properties 😂 my headache disappeared mid meal. Lovely service and atmosphere!
This place is incredible. It has some of the best Thai food I've ever had outside of Thailand. The dish I ordered, Yum Gai, was not at all Americanized. The visual presentation, the spices, The tamarind, everything about it was very authentically Thai. You can order which level of spiciness you want and I chose maximum because I love Thai food. Absolutely recommended.
The lunch special is a great deal! Food was delicious with large portions. Staff is very nice.
Not bad Thai food. Not as good as Thai square near Christian st.
Food was great and moderately affordable. The music in the background is soothing as well. The service was also great. I would definitely recommend for a little date night or night with a few friends.
Best Thai take out I have had in Philly!
Food is amazing here. Highly recommend this place 5 stars 🌟

Nine Thai Kitchen is also called Phuket I'm Vegan on UberEats (they said it's the brand name). It shows everything Vegan on the UberEats since my friend is a vegetarian. So we ordered 4 items but they forgot one order to deliver and refused to deliver again. Instead, they told us to pick up or will refund but they said that the refund might take time. The WORST thing is that they used fish sauce in the food which is NOT VEGAN AT ALL! We could taste strong fish sauce in all food since my friend has super sensitive taste buds with it. It was very disappointing and we were very pissed with the situation.
Locally owned place, the food is good but in my opinion the portions are quite small. the flavor is great. Also really wish the thai tea was actually thai tea not powdered thai tea.
Great food & service! The duck tacos, and salmon curry are delicious. They also give you candy when you check out. So sweet!
If you like Thai food, Nine Thai is the place for you.
The service is very quick when you sit down and the service very personalized.
I recommend the boba tea and pad Thai
Green curry was 9.5/10: perfect flavor balance, fresh veggies, silky tofu, perfect spice level
Fast, nice service, definitely recommend
Очень вкусно
I’ve ordered here4x in the past month and have not been disappointed. My favorites have been the pad thai, red and green curry and the curry puffs. this has quickly become my go to
Great little place + very decent prices for these days, i've been steady disappointed by Thai lately and can't afford even a lot of hole in the wall places. It's very rare that a curry is fully flavorful, they were nice, simple cute spot, definitely was busy with tons of takeout, cooked fresh so there was a bit of a wait which seemed normal considering it's a small spot. Rare to find a place worth going back! The Thai iced tea was correct!
The worst Tom Yum soup I have ever had. I asked for shrimp Tom yum, all I got was onions and no shrimps.
This was good value. I especially liked that you can select the spice level for any dish. I can’t handle super spicy food, so that was great for me. We loved the Thai Iced Tea and Thai Iced Coffee. Our waiter was very nice as well. Good little neighborhood spot.
Best Thai food I’ve had in Philly. Small Brewerytown gem contributing to the restaurant scene here.
Ordered the 'Khow Kra-Pao Lunch Special' for takeout from this Thai restaurant, and it was a delightful experience! The flavors were authentic and packed a punch, even as takeout. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying meal. Service during pickup was quick and efficient. Highly recommend this dish for a flavorful Thai takeout option!
Great quality Thai food in the heart of Brewerytown! Error on the side of caution with the spice levels, even a 1 was pushing it for me lol super tasty though!
Food is so bomb. Best crab langoon I've ever had.
Great vegan curries! Friendly staff, helped me find my lost credit card 😆
The Pineapple Curry is one of the best meals I’ve ever had!
insanely good
Best thai food in philly. Great atmosphere. Great service. 10/10 experience.
I didn’t want to give them a bad review bc the restaurant workers actually answer the phone but the online ordering service sucks. I ordered hours before the restaurant opened for delivery at noon and I called yo confirm the order.m which they did. At 12 I called Grubhub to see if I could track the delivery bc it said it would be delivered through them. Grubhub then told me the order had been cancelled bc their wasn’t a driver and they issued me a a refund. I called the store just to make sure they knew what happened and to confirm the order was cancelled and they said the driver picked it up around 11:50ish. I never got my food so idk what Grubhub is doing. I recommend this store stop using it for delivery. I still don’t know if the food is good.
This is my go-to takeout spot in the neighborhood. I haven't had a bad meal yet, and it is a copious amount of food for the price. They started out with very different dishes, Thai street food, than what you would expect at many Thai restaurants. But have recently added standbys like Pad Thai and drunken noodles (the latter of which is quite good). They also do excellent currys. They are super quick and quite friendly as well.
I'd love some more/better bicycle parking out front. But otherwise it is absolutely excellent.
Great food, super kind service! I rushed in two minutes to close after forgetting some things at the grocery store and the guy was super nice and took my takeout order even though he had to stay after 9. And the food was absolutely delicious!
So delicious! Definitely recommend :)
Delicious Thai restaurant, I love and recommend all of their dishes, but especially the street noodle, chicken pad Thai, and the green curry.
We have done takeout 3 times since we started coming to see my back surgeon in Philly. We LOVE their food. We ate heading back today. And are already looking at the menu!!
Coming from Virginia this is a treat!!
the owner && his family are very sweet. love their spicy massaman curry && strawberry thai tea
I ordered takeout from Nine Thai for the first time a few weeks ago and I was STUNNED. It’s top notch, spicy, authentic Thai. I’ve since ordered 5 more times. The tom yum and yellow curry are to die for. GO!!
My go to Thai restaurant in the neighbourhood.
Clean, nice, fast, good food
Omg this was THE best dumpling soup I’ve ever had. It was so flavorful (my fiancé described it as having a sweet taste). We eat a lot of Thai food around the city (esp. me being Thai 🇹🇭) and really impressed by Penang curry and soup. He had the Street Noodles #2 and loved it as well. Great for a quick bite and value. The Thai woman there also cooks at the southeast Asian market at FDR and I’m obsessed with her stir-fry noodles.
This might be the best Thai food I've ever had. It's simply incredible! I would come here all the time if I lived in the area.
This place is great! The food is excellent and so is the service. Definitely one of my go to spots in the neighborhood.
This is the perfect place to eat with your friends and family on a night out or just a lunch! This place has a cozy atmosphere and delicious Thai food! The first time I was here is with my family. At first my mom was a weary about coming to a new restaurant(as she most of the time is), but she left loving the place and now we come almost every time! The Street Food #2 noodles are so delicious, salty and savory. The noodles are cooked just the way i like them. But if your not used to slightly chewy noodles, it may not be for you. So I reco the Drunken Noodles! You can choose what spice level you want, but I would recommend a 0 if you have no spice tolerance like me lol! But overall, definitely recommend this place! I'm sure you'll love it too!
Got take out for three. Food was delicious! I especially liked the green curry tofu and the mango sticky rice.
Amazing Thai food- have tried many things including several of the Thai 'street food' dishes- all so good. Yellow and green curries are bomb. The owner is so sweet too! Always a great experience when we dine in. My husband and I love it, it's our go-to for a quick, tasty lunch. Try it if you're in the area!
Nice family owned hole-in-the-wall type place. The owners were so funny, would totally recommend for a nice bite to eat
I ordered from here using Uber eats and had multiple issues.
I ordered 3 dishes, and 1 came without the chicken it was supposed to include.
Additionally, all 3 dishes contained peanut, despite having no mention of peanut for those dishes on the menu. I have a serious peanut allergy and could have had a bad reaction if I hadn’t immediately recognized there was peanut in the dish.
Also, the others I ordered with, who do not have peanut allergies and could therefore try the food, we’re entirely unsatisfied by the food itself. We ended up getting food from elsewhere.
Lastly, I requested utensils be included in my order, since I had just moved to a new place and didn’t have any, and they didn’t include those either.
All in all, a terrible experience. Would not recommend.
Amazing Tom yum and Tom kha soups 20/10
Great Thai basil and fast service
The girl was so rude and not very friendly customers service. My son was treating badly and was given bad looks by the girl server. Would not go here again at all.
Excellent!
the best food ever and he was so sweet and hospitable
Super food and service. Really impressed. The sticky rice dessert with Mango was particularly delicious.
So delicious! Khao soi yellow curry noodle bowl is my favorite . Also the love boat beef noodle soup is sooo good. Amazing quality and so flavorful. This place is special.
Food tastes great.
First time in, surprised me. I had the tom gha soup w chicken, street food two and fresh rolls. It was really amazing. Definitely eat here.
Great service, great atmosphere, great food! Ordered the dumpling soup and HAD to go back for seconds. Would absolutely reccomend.
Really delicious food, large variety and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Nine Thai's dishes have amazing and unique flavors I've never tasted anywhere else. It's one of my favorite Philly restaurants. And Tui (owner) is awesome. Love Boat, Khao Soi, and Tom Kha are my standards. I also recommend the Yum Gai, Sukothai, and Moo Ping. For spice level, I usually go with 3, but sometimes 2 if I'm not feeling the heat. Haven't tried level 4... yet.
Food was fabulous. Next time we will take out
Really good food and very friendly service!
Really good Thai staples and some fun street food menu items too. We had the laab, green curry and parang curry and all 3 were great!
Delicious! I’ve been here a couple time now and the quality is consistent. Fantastic flavor, great spices, and the staff are amazing! You can tell the chef cares about good food for good people!! Definitely coming back :D
Yashidah you should go to the nine it's best on this side of the county
I didn't like the flavor. The menu didn't say it had peanuts. But everyone else liked the food.
This place was okay....
Friendly staff and great food quality and value!! I am more of a regular now.
Amazing tasty food. Management is caring and friendly. A must go. Loved it.
Great food ,good service, and generous portions.
I ordered Sukhotai noodle and Moo Ping via delivery. Moo Ping + sticky rice taste good but not enough for $16, like do you think we’re in Manhattan? And Sukhotai noodle, which is a noodle + soup menu, tastes okay but they gave me the noodle in a PAPER BOX instead of a plastic box.
Just got delivery for the first time. It was delicious! Will definitely be coming back. We went fully vegan and we're thrilled with everything.
Asked for gluten free food, and was told all the sauces and noodles were gluten free.
Judging by how sick my partner now is, I can say that this is not a GF friendly establishment. The owners need to do some research and tell their employees how to make their food GF, which is advertised on their website.
Yes it's as good as everyone says it is!
TL;DR - Received incomplete order, owner accused me of trying to steal.
After picking up my order and coming back home, I realized that one of the items from my order (the kang kua prawns) was missing. Not a big deal since we ordered quite a bit of food. Before we sat down to eat, I gave the restaurant a quick call just to let me know about the missing dish. The person who answered the phone was immediately hostile and asked me to bring back the meal. When I pointed out that this made no sense as everything was fine asides from the one missing dish and that all that I was asking for is a refund of that dish, he got more defensive and told me that he had packed the meal himself and had included the kang kua prawns. After some more back and forth, he eventually accused me of trying to get a free dish from him by falsely claiming that it was missing.
Too bad for them - I just moved in the area and love Thai food but they will NEVER see me again.
There is nothing more disappointing than a bad service. My boyfriend and are Thai food lovers and as new home owners of the neighborhood, we decided to try Nine based on the reviews. But the terrible customer service was quite shocking. We made an order for pick up and as soon as we’re opening the bags, we realized that one item was missing which we immediately called the restaurant for a refund or workout what was best. The owner asked to bring the food back (but of course we couldn’t because the item wasn’t there and also -What??) as we are explaining the situation, again we’re missing one dish, the owner kept insisting on bringing the order back, refusing to refund us for the item that we DID NOT received, and quite insulting us over the phone. We couldn’t believe what was happening and definitely ruined the experience of ever going back.
Don’t skip the Mochi ball ice cream
Amazing food! Spice level is INTENSE, even the Level 2! I could handle the Level 1 though. Delicious yummy food, highly recommend getting for takeout! (Can’t wait to eat there when we return to normal times). Got the dumplings, street food 1, Love Boat, and Green Curry Linguine. Recommend all of them.
Inauthentic khao soi was very disappointing. We went to this restaurant because we were so excited that they have khao soi, a regional (northern Thai) curry soup that's very hard to find at most Thai restaurants and which we fell in love with while living in Chiang Mai. When we went to pick up the order and told the woman working there how excited we were about the khao soi, she then said that it's not really khao soi, but inspired by it. Ugh. In the end it was a red curry dish totally different from the real dish in almost every way, not bad in it's own right, but absolutely not what it was advertised as. Why even put it in the menu as khao soi if it's a completely different dish?! The papaya salad we had was very good and authentic, but a lot spicier than we expected. Their spiciness rating is very authentic at least - order one level down from what you think you want. But in the end it was a very disappointing lunch because we had sought this place out specifically for that dish.
Who's actually able to order/eat (even) at a time like THIS?!
Tried to.
Tried it.
Tried this place.
And was a tad disappointed.
The stars are for it's simplicity + whole ingredients.
However, this is one of the first times ever, receiving/eating Thai food that needed to be doctored!
Like the bland level was higher than the spice level + medium was a bit spicy (even for a spicy lover).
Perhaps, eating in is different, but, pick up left a lot to be desired!
This isn't the appropriate time to advertise your take-out business by sticking menus through people's doors.
Delicious Thai street food and fun, friendly service. Truly a neighborhood spot. Our expectations were exceeded each time we went and tried something new - though our favorites are now Khao Soi and Rama Jae. I'm so happy to have this spot in the neighborhood, I highly recommend you try them out! We've also ordered pick-up!
Absolutely amazing food! If you are here then you HAVE to try the Thai tea. It is deliciously sweet and very refreshing.
Tonight was our first time!!!!!!!! It was amazing!!!
The food was fresh, delicious and the service was even better!!!!! I would have given 10 stars if I could
Ordered the street #2 as take out and it came fairly cold and overall was lacking in portion and ingredients other then noodles.. little flavor.
Pretty disappointed
We went here and got two salads just to try them. They were literally beds of iceberg lettuce with some meat/dry fishes thrown on top. This is not Thai food. Iceberg lettuce should probably never be used in Thai food. We pictured various spices, fish sauce, vegetables, meats etc being pounded with a mortar and pestal that would be eaten with sticky rice. To the owners, stick to authenticity, and look to restaurants like Pattaya or Vientiane Cafe in West Philly if you want good examples of successful Thai/Lao cuisine in Philadelphia.
Finally, a great thai restaurant in the neighborhood! How many times I've wanted Thai but not the trek to center city. BYOB a plus! Cash only. The food is regional Thai so lots of delicious new things to try that are not pad thai. Friendly owner. Romantic ambiance. Warm space. Will be back!
This was the most amazing dining experience I have ever had. The host sang System of a Down to me. It brought tears to my eyes. Also the food was excellent .
Great gem of place in Breweytown. Quick service and good food! Loved our host/server, he played metal music and sang along with us. Would definitely visit again!!!!!!
I could have made better Thai food with ingredients from Aldi’s. My cucumber salad was all romaine and flavorless. I was really hoping for an authentic Thai experience. What is wrong with this neighborhood, can we get some good food spots please!
Nice staff, yummy food at affordable prices. Will definitely be back!
Delicious, delicious, delicious !! We went to Novak's for a family celebration and were blown away with the array of flavor profiles offered. The escargots or the wild boar pate are excellent starters! Staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable! Check Novak's out, you will not be disappointed!
Awesome food and great hospitality. Chef Mark is the man.
Chez Mark’s quaint little byob spot in the heart of Brewerytown is a must do! The cuisine is unique, freshly prepared and absolutely exquisite. The ambiance is friendly and very neighborly.
Nice social place.
Awesome experience
Amazing unique place. Novak's fits a unique small niche of extremely high end food for a very great value in a unique environment. First, the food is the best French food I've ever had, just be aware the menu is very small as are the portions. Secondly, the atmosphere is great, the owner is a retired chef who clearly just loves serving and feeding people. The decor is not as high end as the food but it works. Lastly, it's worth noting that Brewerytown is an up and coming neighborhood so there's a mix of newer nicer restaurants and "sketchy" older places. This matters because Novak's is BYOB, you can go down the street to Rybrew and get craft beers or go across the street to some of the older alcohol stores and buy a 40 for $2.
Possibly the best restaurant in Philadelphia. No pretension, just excellent food and ambiance. Make sure to get a reservation because it fills up quickly! The $25 prix fixe is a bargain for the quality of food that you get.
Wonderful staff makes this place an enjoyable jem. The food is very good and the cozy atmosphere is fun. Definately will be back for more.
Great food
I love chef Mark! You can't beat the food or the friendly atmosphere. It's BYOB and there's plenty of street parking.
The pear appetizer was excellent, the fried avocado not so much. The duck was really good, too. Worst thing is the plates weren't even close to coming out at the same time. If that doesn't bother you, I highly recommend it. Atmosphere was really fun, too.
I'm not sure why I was so surprised that everything was so good here but it was. They have a very small menu & gluten free options were not a problem (but we didn't get the gluten free bread that was mentioned when we made the reservation). I had a grilled avocado appetizer & shrimp entree and both were very good. The only thing I wasn't too thrilled about were the plastic glassware & paper napkins but that's just me being a little picky. You can't go wrong here especially for the price!
Great time and atmosphere. We were there for my Girlfriend Dez 40th birthday dinner. The owner's are so friendly and kind as well as the food was great.
Live in East Parkside and this is the best restaurant in the area. The chef is amazing and entertaining with world class cooking to back it up.
The most amazing vegan meal I've ever had. The confit had the most incredible flavor and texture that I've ever had from a meat substitute. My boyfriend (who is not vegan) said it was better than the duck confit. The chef delivered to to me by hand and told me he always wins the Miami Vegan Dish Award and I see why. Even if you're not vegan this restaurant is incredible in terms of service, authenticity, and quality. Clearly one of the best restaurants in Philly.
Food was delicious
Mark, my dear friend We finally came up to Philly and visit your fine restaurant. Frankie and I enjoyed it so much.
Happy to meet Fatima an amazing host!
If I start talking about the menu and attentions, a lot more space to type will be required. But must say the Duck and Escargot was on point!
Oh btw BYO which I love to have that option.
Love everything about this place now can't imagine the patio in the summer time. Can't wait.
Delicious food, nicely sized portions, for non-outrageous prices. Chef Marc welcomed our party with open arms, and our server was very pleasant as well.
I had the wild boar paté, jerked duck, and tiramisu for dessert. ❤
A nice place to go to have a dinner out with friends.
Great food at insanely low prices. Love this guy's mission.
The chef, the atmosphere, the location, the great food, the music is always on point
Best restaurant I've been to in Philly
We come all the way from NYC just for this fantastic little place!!!!!!! A must visit/try when you're in philly! Mark is a wonderful chef/host the food is absolutely delicious! BYOB, great music, laid back warm vibes!
Mark is the man
Great food, great atmosphere and great host. The owner Mark makes you feel like family if you have the opportunity to meet him. I was never huge on French cuisine but Mark changed my mind with ease. You can't beat the price to flavor ratio here!! One of our new favorite places to eat
